laptops age poorly since you cant really upgrade the hardware, also cpus stopped stagnating as much as intel 4th-8th gen, and gpus have been handily getting faster, for refrence 14th gen intel is about to come out and thats 7th gen, also laptops are usually bad value anyway

The laptop 4080 is about even with the desktop 4070, and the laptop 4090 is literally a lower power desktop 4080 chip.
