hello
@fathom nebula thanks for sharing, https://www.ebay.com/itm/354106545422?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=iavkaucpsam&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=gGVTKtdUS2u&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY this looks very compelling to me
You know who else has b-stock on their website? Alphacool
Their US store is aquatuning.us
They have decent enough custom loop parts and AIOs. Radiators are really nice too, I've been eyeing the monsta.

Mods do not support dad jokes
I, however, am not a mod and thus do support dad jokes
Not gonna post this bc kinda meh, but $850 strix Eva edition 3080 12gb https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B27JZ7T1/ref=cm_sw_r_api_i_20CTE21YZXR4G2BCNN2F_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
The Republic of Gamers is launching new equipment for the EVANGELION project. The ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3080 EVA Edition comes equipped with a myriad of performance-enhancing features. Aesthetic cues from EVA-01 cover the shroud and backplate, and the iconic synchronization effect is displayed on...
Clean gpu
Feels more Joker theme to me, lol. $50 over normal strix isn't too bad, I just wouldn't pay it.

Wtf is that brand name
Maybe that's their quality level scale
me personally im a Big Ass Fan of them though some will probably think theyre Schiit
i would continue with more name puns but i dont know any other companies
But see, it's diyarea, which is below schiit
On aforementioned quality scale
The fact that it's been nothing but mods commenting this is extra hilarious
That's pretty decent for strix, 50 over normal
Sus

https://www.newegg.com/team-32gb/p/N82E16820331845?Description=ddr5 6000&cm_re=ddr5_6000-_-20-331-845-_-Product 6000c30 with an m2, the price is kinda cringe, but the m2 make it very tempting :S
Ntb makes the ram about 180$
yeah, not the best pcie4 m2 but hey, 2tb and its faster than the pcie3 models
last year it is double or trible price.
yeah but still overpriced compared to others 3080s
but the eva flair could worth something for someone
That SSD...
p41 tasty
I'm very tempted lol
it does go brrt pretty nicely
the 1s are back for round 2
Idk i just cant justify it when tou get get a 2tb mp33 for 20$ more lol
Biggest difference is in sequentials which most people only do by downloading large games etc and would usually be limited by internet speeds anyway
I'm not convinced in this case
There's a huge difference in random iops, so if you've got a shared system and game drive there might be something noticable
ofc it's a lot faster, but for stuff like game loading? Not noticeable, the bottleneck is probably still the api
If it's moving to and from the same drive it should be instantaneous
but hey, phison did do something with i/o+ and talked about direct storage
https://www.tweaktown.com/articles/10154/phison-technology-preview-directstorage-gaming-companion/index.html
although that's just e18+b47r
dont think hynix has said anything
xs70 is e18+b47r at 120$ for 1tb though if you want that specifically
I'd have to see some numbers. I've got a 660p as my main drive, and it's pretty common for me to see background system tasks take a decent chunk out of the performance
As a standalone game drive, yeah mp33 should be fine. I'm just not convinced that when you have system and games on the same drive there won't be a significant difference
It's got similar random performance to the mp33
This doesn't seem right, decent sata drive is better loading than a p41?
Ik it's miniscule but still
its all just minscule within margin of error
the point is that it's probably api bottleneck rather than drive's read speed
Doesn't bfv load mostly depend on CPU?
I thought it was in the same realm as planet coaster or KSP for that sort of thing
@flat junco ay there's some in stock at a further away best buy lol
While I'm hesitant about such a big monitor
I'm also very tempted
Free shipping too
What monitor?
Oh the HP.
Good price
Best Buy online stock is almost always inaccurate. If it says there's one or two in stock there's probably zero. Ask any employee, they hate it too because people make them search for things they don't have.
Haha
All other stores said out of stock
If you do the curbside pickup option they'll at least tell you if it's in stock
BB ebay store have same monitor you can try your luck there
Considering other laptops at that same price point rn, that Acer Laptop is a heck of a deal
It's not too bad for prebuilt, only a couple hundred more than if you built it yourself
It's discounted compared to how things were several months ago at least
Probably 200-250 more plus the possibility of a worse psu, motherboard, or ram
Ut oh.... bought the 2TB. Still $50 over what a P31 was, but w/e. Speed!
-- also anyone want a decent $9 heatsink: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08QD93S3F
💀
stop
stop
stop
you dont need any more drives bro
Nah remember the only m.2 I have is the 500GB sn550. It chokes up every 5-6GB during a Steam download. The MX500 is still perfect but only 1TB & the big WD_Black is more for general backup & most games that don't really take advantage of nvme speeds
I'd probably be more tempted to buy that p41 2tb if I actually had PCIe 4.0
Does anyone know what I could upgrade to make it better? Like ram or something. I will already buy a hdd for it
just buy it for the efficiency lol
I'd get the p31 if I wanted that
Yea the hardware alone will make the* P41 always be higher watt/heat even at gen 3, but the iops will also still be great.
Pull a gigachad and upgrade ssd before you upgrade the rest lmao
Become an average P41 enjoyer

Then when I upgrade in 4 years I'll consider it
I like ruining things sometimes lol
I mean, it's good enough on its own, if you want more storage you can go for it, but value still isn't great
If you really don't want to or can't build then it's a fine option
What’s a better option?
Building yourself?
But better prebuilt for value?
Open box offerings
And there's probably deals I'm not aware of
Okay
For a 2x8 4800 14-13 1t tight a bit below 2v kit of rip jaws how much should I offer for used
@grave delta
Why
Because I want to buy it
ooo bicc monitor
WHAT
more nvme drives bruh
Them 1440p monitors are nice, but my gpu is dying as a result
Is this a good value pre built under $1400?: Intel i5 12400F - GeForce RTX 3060 Ti - 16GB DDR4 3200MHz - 512GB M.2 NVMe SSD https://www.newegg.com/abs-ali641/p/N82E16883360306?Item=N82E16883360306&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-83-360-306-_-08232022
Did the price go up again? The last time I saw that it was like 1250$
meh, dunno, I still believe 3060ti prebuilts should be 1200$ or so, so still a bit overpriced either way
doesn't really look like it
Dang I want that monitor, but I just spent money on more stuff
Only the open box ones are, that's the best value better than 3060 one i could find non open box
I really like the MSI 1080p version of that monitor. only $50 more than what I paid for the 1440p version
Did you get that backwards?
No
Yes, so you did get it backwards...?
No
Read your sentence again
Reads just fine
I'm so confused
Nah it reads like you paid more for the 1080
Glad it's not just me
Reason: Bad word usage
I see it too
Either it should be 1440p is 50$ more or 50$ less than the 1440p lol
How is this bundle tho https://www.antonline.com/Intel/Computers/Electronic_Components/Microprocessors/1458036
antonline is America’s premier online retailer of cutting edge computer technology and consumer electronics.
is this that bad ?
Yeah that's a good bundle but at the same time WAY more than most people need
Total price is good if you need everything
Yes
12900 + b660 + 1600w PSU be $825. So only $25 more for OCing with high end mobo
plus random peripherals
New good case?????
69.99

only top 240 rad compatibility which is a bit sad but seems fine otherwise
yeah
Tempting.
It's basically the same price it'd cost to build it new, if not slightly cheaper
Pretty nice
@azure pond btw your config doesn't carry over also i didn't see a gf1 in there
Stil called pf1 lol
That's why i didn't see
Although platinum?
The one they have
Although pf1 non rgb 850w is only b tier
For the pc you posted I'd recommend doing this @azure pond
Can't post configs through link unfortunately:(
Then replace ram with your own 2x16gb kit for 80$
Is there any cheap way to upgrade board on there?
Nope
Esp with all the heat coming off 3080 12gb
Maybe
the waifu 3080 again paired with the 180 gift card on egg
and this time with a fan as well
A fan?
699
949 on Newegg CA
Dammit almost the same conversion rate for CAD and AUD yet it's 200 more here

I wanna get the yeston one but it doesn't seem they have any warranty. :/
They do, 3 years http://www.yeston.net/classpro/index/70
yeston
Thank you the website wasn't loading for me for some reason.
waifu faaaans
that's like a suuuuper good deal.
a waifu card and waifu fans plus 180$ back?
pfft. alllllmost makes me wish I had waited, but I'm happy with what I have
Yeah it's definitely not bad. :D
I'm worried a lil about the rest of my components tho I heard there is something called a white tax for pc parts.

my advice... find some good argb fans.. don't cheap out on them. I've been through 3 different brands and I've been disappointed with 2 of them
I got like 3 deepcool fans got them for like 25$ they are pretty good. But they are like 35$ now.
What brand do you recommend and which 2 do you not?
Antec and Lian LI are the ones I would not recommend for the lighting. They are good fans though. Arctic P12 ARGB are good fans AND have good argb
This is if you are going for white
if you are going for any other color.. then any of those fans will be fine
White noctua RGB fan when
every time I hear about the white tech tax I chuckle at how I got my white 2060 for a little less $ than the average black 2060 at the time and then when I resold it I got more than what black ones were going for
oh the ak620 white already exists 😄
prefer the shiny silver look of the black version
hmmmm researching a lil more about the waifu card
the cooling solution on the card is not that great, in fact is terrible
according to a lot of ppl on reddit
The waifu is too hot, hehe
most of them solved the problem undervolting the card to cut between 60-100W out of the card
i have mixed feelings rn
not a lot of reviews tho
Hey friends, I was awarded an $800 grant to purchase a laptop for college, the only stipulation is that I purchase it through Amazon. I was trying to search for the best bang for buck laptop with emphasis on battery life and I wanted to see if anyone knew anything or would like to share anything with me. The intended usage would primarily be away from the charger text and/or image work, and if possible some gaming, though nothing heavy. Because of my schedule I would prefer battery over many things right now. Someone had previously helped me in this server with finding parts for my old PC, but If anyone could assist me in any way I would appreciate it
Something with a 6000 series cpu with no dgpu would be ideal, but unfortunately those are few and far between
Maybe something with an 11400h or similar and 40w 3050
Maybe an mx series gpu
Msi GF65 Thin 10UE regularly goes on ebay and amazon for 820 usd
It's about as good as it'll get. 10500h* and 3060
Hopefully there's still stock of it around, haven't looked for a couple weeks
I plan on contacting the people providing the funds because it seems like they wouldn't plan on letting me add any money to the 800 they are providing, not to mention them only going through Amazon. It's quite strange but perhaps I can reason with them
Hey look it's 800 on the dot https://a.co/d/bA7Lri2
Latest 10th Gen. Intel Core i5 processor powers up with up to 15% performance gains over the previous generation. Higher single core frequency is better for gaming experience. GeForce RTX 30 Series powers the world's fastest laptops for gamers and creators. They're built with the award-winning Am...
And Amazon
@true lintel this and nothing else
If you can get the opportunity down the road to add an 8gb sodimm, do so. It'll be a significant boost
Dang that really is quite a powerful laptop for a bargain, I will definitely take it into consideration and prepare to present it (they might shoot it down because of the .74 cents because of how strange they are) . But I was hoping to try to find something with a little better battery life due to my schedule.
I had found this and they said that they would cover it though it is lacking a little in the CPU department
They have used options there for cheaper but I wouldn't choose them
Significantly slower gpu, better cpu tho
Alright, it's a shame there are quite a few decent options but they either lack RAM and can't be upgraded or are just a few dollars over the limit
Iirc the msi lappy has an open sodimm slot to upgrade
Just need to get it open. Ddr4 sodimms are cheap
Yeah you are right, but I had found a ZenBook with an mx 450 but with insufficient RAM that couldn't be upgraded just as an example
What games you trying to run?
Very easy to run games on the laptop was what I planned as I have a desktop already. So most likely paradox games or a game of Minecraft though I'm being vague. Everything else I play doesn't really make since to play on a laptop
So to be honest I probably could make do with a high powered U series
then i'd definitely go for an mx series gpu
6800u laptops are cheaper than MX550
MX450 is affordable though tbf
Laptop market sucks right now, not sure why.
Theres an overabundance of 9th gen and 3rd gen laptops. But a lack of current ones. Then DDR5 still brings up the price too for 12th and 6000 series laptops. I hate it tbh
Been looking for a 6600m, 6700s, or 6800m laptop and its like, not easy.
I've been trying to find anything with a 6000 series apu that isn't ridiculously overpriced
cheapest one I've seen is $850 without a dgpu
They exist but its crazy with the pricing lol
ya
I'd pay that much if it had an OLED screen and was thin. like an Asus Zenbook with a 6800u, oled screen would be perfect.
but they don't have that yet
😠
Oh they do have it. but its 1618$????
Why the heck does it have a 2.8k screen
https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-ZenBook-13-UM325UA-DS71-Ryzen/dp/B08XGV5GMQ/
This but with a 6800u and DDR5 6400mhz would be perfect. but noooooo Asus wants to be dumb
The incredibly compact, thin and light ZenBook 13 OLED features AMD Ryzen 7 5700U Series Mobile Processors for powerful all-round performance, and its amazing Full HD OLED HDR NanoEdge display delivers ultra-vivid visuals with unprecedented realism. The beautiful ZenBook 13 OLED will make your on...
12600KF deal is good
Is this a good monitor? LG 24” UltraGear FHD 1ms 165Hz Gaming Monitor with AMD FreeSync™ Premium https://www.walmart.com/ip/301215684
Plz tell me
@void wraith I'd get
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16824012052
IPS panels instead of the VA
Actually ima put it in tech deals
whats the difference
Nicer colors
VA response times are only good with like highend Samsung panels, which are typically in really expensive monitors (afaik only Samsung and Alienware).
heck yeah they can, especially with blacks and reds when you move them around the screen.
that's the only issue I have with my VA though
Same
my ips is my everything else monitor and my 1080p is my internet browser
@void wraith for that price is better msi 😋
27"
oh I do also watch movies on my ips
er. I'd take 180hz 1080 over 144hz 1080p
for $5 more lol
plus gigglebyte makes good monitors
g24f is nice
27in 1080p looks funky
like I said. a 24in 180hz 1080p over a 27in 144hz 1080p any day
Do you have one?
yeah
Which one?
Monitor size is all preference and use case
Some folks have the monitor far from their face
Some people still on crt 💀
whatever
The mousefeel bro
I personally have a good 27" 1080 and it's not the end of the world
got it for $40 on clearance
Like, if you move 2 inches from the screen you'll see pixels
so was hard to pass up
yeah don't get me wrong.. if you like 27in go for it.
but I'd rather have the higher hz if it were coming down to it
and for $5 more for 35 more hz.. well to me that's a no brainer on 1080p
24in is perfect 1080p size
27 isn't bad but just takes up more space and doesn't really have a benefit
Benefit is stuff is "bigger" on screen and could help in some games. Some people aren't so effected by the slightly lower ppi. I just sit too close to my screen to think about trying a 27" 1080p. The 1440p sure is great as secondary.
If I were gaming on it.. I might not have a problem with it perse, but with it being used for my browser.. even a couple feet away I can see a difference with the letters on screen
ppd > ppi for display stuff.
Link with nice info on ppd calculation and what to expect. Graph has also been posted few times here showing an estimated good resolution to distance range (so basically ppd but split up a bit).
http://phrogz.net/tmp/ScreenDensityCalculator.html
pp
interesting site. They make "40 PPD" or such seem quite bad, but oh well. Perhaps I'm just partly lucky that on my monitor the pixel lines/squares aren't really an issue unless being under 8" from the screen.
at 3ft away it says I'm at 53ppd
GIGABYTE M27Q-P 27" for $279.99 good deal?
Yes
There's also the m32qc for $280 someone posted
1440p works well at 27in, so I would get the m27q
Also works well at 32"
Shure
Unsure on the psu, its a 700w gold so it definitely isn't the smart
Looks good
Probably the gx1 rgb
Only 700w gold tt still in prod
C tier btw
So not bomb tier
Mm, think I'd just rather have an FE over ventus.
Agreed
broo I should’ve gotten that prebuilt in tech deals instead of the one I have rn
That one is better and cheaper smh
It's best to make due with what you have rather than be jealous of what you could have had
Just make sure to learn from this experience for next time
...alright that's enough boring philosophical malarkey from me
Dude you're telling me
I essentially paid $1200 for a 3060 ti, 3600 and 1tb ssd because of how bad the one I got was
For a whole build or literally just those two parts
Whole build
I paid $1200 for literally a cpu, gpu, and ssd
oh
Because of how bad the rest of the pc was
Yes
Should I get the 3070ti?
Cheaper than my FE 3070
Is Ventus better compared to the FE?
We should wait next gen card.
👌
For the deal i just posted in tech deals which i honestly find is an amazing deal
Which you could also buy that wait till the deal is over and then selling it for 25$ less on both items which the board itself is 200$ anyways.
Or build a system with it and then sell it after for more money
Keep in mind 12400(F) on sale & a decent mobo is almost the same price.
Not at microcenter though
Exactly. Only 1 MC in all of CA.
Yes, that newly renovated Tustin store Jay was going on and on about
Who's stealing my shilling thunder?!
J2C ofc
Is 870 Evo worse than 860?
@solemn forge ^
no
870 is newer and 1 of the best sata ssds next to the mx500
Then $57 per tb seems pretty good
The qvo is easily worse, being qlc afaik.
why you pinging me
You made a ton of reactions to the deal
oh i meant the best buy reviews on it are bad
oh is it?
Definitely for OS, probably for other stuff as well
3 of the 4 reviews say it's a fake 4tb drive
on best buy
From best buy that seems unlikely but idk
yes
yeah right
it's refurb
Yeah that looks like someone was exploiting the return process
I'm sure BB would resolve that though
perhaps
the reviews saying it's fake come from 1, 5, and 7 months ago so in that time span it seems as though they haven't change their operations
I mean best buy should accept the return in the case that you do end up receiving a fake
I will say, we have seen some great nvme deals around $60/tb
But also there's only so many nvme slots
I've got 2 860s and they're great
yea I'm running a 860 evo no problems
I'm anyways skeptical of buying used drives though and the reviews on this one would make me steer clear if I was planning on buying it
used drives are okay if they provide you actual pics of drive's stats
Return scamming best buy is nothing new but sad they don't check them more thoroughly
it's best to check in person, but if they provide good proof
you can be confident
but tbh i don't think it's that worth it anyway, unless it's like an enterprise ssd
i can spot some used samsung mlc drives sometimes
Reason: Bad word usage
Ventus 3x is fine below the 3080
And the 2x is ok on the 3060 ti and lower
Not ideal by any means but it doesn't throttle
The ventus 3080 though... It has a hard time cooling it
Can I get some thoughts, on this combo?
Note, I plan to swap out the RTX 3070 for a RTX 4090 once those come out, also I found the EVGA mobo for 50% off.
CPU: I9-12900K
Cooler: Arctic Freezer II ARGB 420mm
Mobo: EVGA Z690 Dark K|ngp|n
RAM: G.Skill Trizent Z5 RGB 2x16GB 6400mhz CL32
GPU: EVGA RTX 3070 XC3 Ultra
SSDs: Samsung 2TB 980 Pro (1x) + Samsung 1TB 980 (1x)
Below 3070 ti tbh it does not handle g6x well
Terrible overspending ok board ram and drives
Also if you want the best of the best ryzen 7000/intek 13th gen will be coming out in about a month
I know. I am a collector of sorts.
Going to get the 13th gen later on.
Why not just get 12100 until then
Flagship collector.
Such a waste
Fun to always play with the new flagship and the last gen parts I would give to my brother.
Alright well what country you in?
Mexico currently, was in the US a couple months ago and heading back to China once Covid settles down.
Been travelling around the world a bit.
Ah lemme see if there's a pc part picker for mex
And bloody hell.
BUYING PC PARTS IN MX IS REDICULOUS.
I thought buying PC parts in the US was bad, boy was I wrong when I came to MX....
I'd appreciate it. The current parts I've found comes in at $2,000.
Us is the best place to buy parts
That's for, CPU, mobo, cooler, ram, ssd, and a new Mako kit.
Mako?
Ehhh depends on your luck I suppose. had better luck in China.
IFixIt kit.
Oh
Probably just depends on if you know what you're looking for
Is newegg the only thing for mexico?
Hmmm, do you think refurbishing my I7-10700F with the RTX 3070 for a 2nd system simply for monitoring and perhaps streaming would be overkill?
yes
Newegg, Amazon, and I heard about this Cyberpeurta.mx but I am not sure if it's trustworthy.
Single pc streaming is easier and no perf drop these days
This would just be a waste you can use your current pc for this
I know.... I just want something to do.
As for the upgrade, I am getting those parts in like a month-two depending on when I purchase them. Been trying to decide if I wanna reuse one of my SSDs in exchange for a 2nd monitor.
Ye
By that time 13th gen/ryzen 7000 will be out
Will probably just give it to one of my brothers as a gift after I get 13th gen, or when I get the 12th gen chip if I decide to be nice to him.
Isn't 13th gen coming in around November?
Hmmm, will think about skipping 12th and use 13th gen then buy the 12th gen part for the sake of my collection when it's cheaper then perhaps.
Can't wait for the RTX 4090 to come out.
Gonna save up for that + a decent monitor combo for sure.
Yeah I'd deffo wait
Been struggling with this. Do you got any recommendations on some flashy PC cases that have good performance and can fit a 420mm AIO?
Oh, also needs to fit E-ATX motherboards.
Fractal torrent kinda does
If I remember correctly, a Push/Pull config on that requires a little sawing correct?
Uh idk but push pull is pretty pointless
The ones I've been looking at were like the 1000D, Haf 700 EVO.
How big a difference does Push/Pull do, as I like to overclock my CPUs as much as possible without resorting to LN2 as I am not that crazy.
I mean it'
it's like 5c correct?
Like 1-2c at full boar
Interesting, I've never tried Push/Pull, so I was curious.
What effect does it have on the overall system if the rad is up front?
Get a thermal grizzly/thermalright contact frame if you want better cpu temps
Ehh don't think there's much testing on that
Got it.
But yea, any suggestions on some big show cases with good performance?
Need it to fit E-ATX mobo, and at least one 420mm Rad. Preferably with room for CLC later on for once I am back in China.
Been thinking of maybe trying the 1000D since I can fit a 2nd system which I'd turn into my test system for my game server.
I really like the fractal meshify 2(xl)
You can top mount the 420
Although not really flashy
Just saw it, worst case if I can't find the cases I wanna get at a fair price I may go with that as a budget option.
And man, I wish I could get my hands on a Z-Tower.
@meager sandal talk about deals here that's channel is only for posting deals
@meager sandal
👀
not like you will notice it anyway, thats not a chat channel 😛
If you've got a bunch of links you can always ask a mod to temporarily make you immune to slow mode or remove the limit.
lemme introduce you to the edit button
Would it be better to get this monitor when it’s back on stock https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16824012047?Item=N82E16824012047&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-24-012-047-_-08232022
or this monitor https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-31-5-ips-qhd-amd-freesync-gaming-monitor-black/6483573.p
depends if you want VA or IPS
VA: better contrast, deeper blacks, lower pixel response time (can look smudgy)
IPS: better color accuracy but worse contrast, better pixel response time
I’m thinking of doing editing on videos, what do you recommend between the 2
You'll want IPS for the better colors
Tbh idc but some mods would make it like "rule 6: change me"
Good call, I barely look at names
I'd say the main draw to modern IPS is the viewing angle
10 years ago, IPS = better colors was more relevant
That said- poor viewing angle can often equate to bad colors in practice
Please change your server nickname to be in this server
Response time and brightness also tend to be nicer for the price on ips
Brightness being the relevant one for editing
I thought IPS was inherently dimmer as the light has to pass through two elements vs 1 - at least on TN
No matter what the reason is, IPS panels just tend to have higher peak brightness from what I've seen
But also more prone to colorbleed (if edge lit) and uneven lighting iirc
mainly backlight bleed and side effect of sometimes wacky black uniformity
Whoop, meant backlight bleed and not color bleed. Dont think IPS as a whole has color bleed issues.
Panel variation too. Even at similar settings, my new X27Q is a decent amount brighter than VG259QR Asus. Although, I dislike super bright screens anyways so it's nearly a moot point for me.
Reason: Bad word usage
ok what is that one?
Just wondering since I dont know enough about monitors, is the 32" 1440p HP monitor posted in #tech-deals actually a decent display?
Seems like a rather good deal on a high refresh 32" 2k screen if so.
It's similar PPI to most 1080p 24" monitors so at the least it'll look decent on that regard. Overall seems like a fine pick yes if you wanted 32" and not 4K (plus had this sort of "budget)
beans

@grand orbit BEEEEEENS
Refurbished so cleaned n stuff also they don't go into your ears
Where it would get waxy anyway
That psu looks 128$ to me
typo
Oh alright

Amp 1000w is interesting
If I hadn't gotten the gt 850 when it was on b stock I'd buy it
Afaik the standard focus platform still only gets 18awg even there
What's that mean?
Don't use daisy chained 18awg connectors. That's about the only difference to most people.
@quasi pasture not gon lie with you that keychain fire
Facts
@grand orbit how's the mic quality on galaxy buds?
Decent
Follow up question
My dads coworker has a pair of bluetooth earbuds like one of the ones that goes around your neck, but they wrap around the neck/under the ears instead
Have you heard of anything like those before?
You mean like not true wireless earbuds like this?
Or do you mean like bone conduction earphones like this
I found they worked decently although leaked sound a good bit and where a pain to carry around cus they didn't collapse like the whole back of the headband is hard plastic
Any recommendations for some? budget doesn't matter as long as it's "reasonable" they're for my dad for work, and he needs a good mic
Wireless earbuds?
Conduction ones
Oh nope
Np
https://www.newegg.com/mushkin-16gb/p/0RN-001S-003S0? opinions on this?
Amusing design and XMP there, lol
Almost like they took some regular kit and just yeeted the voltage when in reality only changing the CAS like that wouldn't really do much
Cheeky kit, tho it might be good for another reason. I have no bearing on Mushkin kits
Mushkin is (or at least, was previously) Newegg's house brand. The stuff is hit or miss. That kinda looks like rev.b maybe? Rev.e if lucky. Decent enough.
Mushkin is a 24yr old company, changed owners in 2014ish, currently made in mexico I think. Nice 1st word latency, the secondaries are meh. Not a bad price imo though. 3600 rev E by comparison is 16-18-18-38 & 1.35v
Getting that cas latency to 14 by sheer voltage is a brute force but effective method. You'd probably be able to drop it a fair bit and still run fine.
speaking of mushkin
Got these recently @jolly inlet
https://www.ebay.com/itm/204065439763
wish I knew how to tell what PCB it uses
if nothing else i love mushkin's heatspreaders
I got a couple of Reactor SSDs years back. It was the second worst SSD I ever owned. I lost 3/4 of my read speed after 9 months, with the drive only 30% full. I got it rma'd and they sent another model that died completely in 4 months. By that point I was out of the original warranty and pissed.
Any recommendations on a prebuilt for $1500?
Is open box acceptable?
Shouldn’t be a problem aslong as everything is still there and working lol
There's this one from a quick search. https://www.newegg.com/abs-ali615/p/N82E16883360280
Found this when I was looking at 3090 tis if anybody wants it.
Get Amplified with the all-new ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 30 Series based on the NVIDIA Ampere architecture. Built with enhanced RT Cores and Tensor Cores, new streaming multiprocessors, and superfast GDDR6X memory, the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Trinity OC gives rise to amplified gaming with...
$890
Those have awful thermal pads. The vram throttles.
Hate to say but the other stuff is also not exactly deals, the Strix is pretty much normal price at 800 currently.
D15 in a trade, added on top for $20.
3090 for $500 out of my pockets because my uni reimbursed me for research use.
Kc3000 is pretty good. $15ish cheaper than P41 and such often is. 👍
@lean briar what's the price usually on that Kingston NVME?
No idea, got the deal from another server
on amazon its on sale now 113 without sale 127
Too expensive, I'm guessing it's actually rev e rather than b die since the subtimings
3600 14-19-19 is basically only rev e or b die afaik
From what I've read.. anything that has 14 as the first timing is bdie yeah?
If it's flat 14s yeah
My rev e
Flat timings at a reasonable to high frequency might I add
Even any hynix or micron die to my knowledge can't do flat 14s even at low freqs tbh
They definitely can
C14 at sub 3000mt is quite loose
also MFR memes
There's a few meme ICs that can look like b-die at low freq
Okay well 3200+ flat 14s is b die
Thats what you'll find in kits with that XMP, yeah
The funky stuff is usually found in older, looser bins or greensticc
so the 3080s in the tech-deals really arent "deals"
729 for an MSI one on amazon rn
That's ventus tho would not recommend
Ah nvm that's a z trio but it's a 3080 10gb
it was an example. The FTW3 is going for $779
B tier
Cheaper and a tier https://pcpartpicker.com/product/mgvdnQ/thermaltake-toughpower-gf1-snow-tt-premium-850-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-ps-tpd-0850fnfagx-w
dis one is whit too
Anyway more expensive and same tier psu 100w less
It's showing in stock for me?
Ohh what I refreshed my page and now it's in stock.
Oh pato I had a question, was the motherboard I listed bad? I never really researched motherboards before but it looked nice and I wanted to add it to my all white build.
It's a decent motherboard except it's out of date, only works for 10th/11th gen intel cpus
Lga 1700
I remembered wrong then ah.
H610, b660, h670 and z690 are the chipsets
That's crazy how expensive the board is still then.
When 13th gen will bring out h710 b760 h770 and z790
Holy. I'm still on my ryzen x470 one haha.
Old parts are never priced very well new
Like the 600 series boards will work with 13th gen intel and and vice versa but
I guess I'll just try to find a white ryzen board then and stick with amd.
Oh so intel is like a new board for every 2 gens?
Yeah as far as we know
yep
If we're lucky they might do a 3rd this time 🤞
usually new socket for 2 gens
but lga 1700 seems ok enough to get a third
am4 extended too far and it faced some issues ngl
like usb dropout
not everyone experiences it, but the problem seems to never get fixed
What is usb dropout?
Ohh I see.
often requires a restart to work again
Would grab this then
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/BYBhP6/asrock-b550-steel-legend-atx-am4-motherboard-b550-steel-legend
Thanks!

um...that anime gpu is tempting ngl
im only holding off because I need a car but...
seems like an extremely good deal
3 "free fans" on a 600usd 3080
"600usd" cause you will have 200 spare for newegg parts
😛
sad, the deal is about to expire xD 1 hour left
im tempted as well since the 180 gift card.... but i need to be strong! 4080 on the horizon
the famed white tax 🤨
https://epomaker.com/products/epomaker-sk61 this on sale for $70 USD would this be good for tech deals

A nice 60% with different gateron optical switches and some nice keycap options for scheme as well
Just got a laptop off marketplace, 8th gen i3 for $70, has a hard drive though
Should I just get a sata ssd for it?
mhm
If I got an nvme for it, I could keep the hdd in it right?
If it has a slot that is
It's a 1tb hdd, might be nice to keep it
8th gen i3 laptop has a chance to have an m.2 slot for ssd
but it can be either sata or nvme
It's an IdeaPad 330-15lkb according to settings
Ew gross it has mcafee
Yeah it has an m.2/nvme slot
Meaning I could throw an mp33 or similar in it and keep the hdd, right?
yes
Not as bad as Dell bloat
My g15 had so much on it it's insane
yeeeah
you need to clean install windows on a new dell
others not really
unless it's hp
but hp doesn't seem to be really bad these days
My old hp laptop was good
Actually the new one I have is good too (this lenovo is for my brother)
a 1tb mp33 and you have a laptop for below 200
or less if there's no need
cause the hdd is 1tb
Traded my g15 for an hp laptop (actually very similar to this lenovo)
hm
Yeah I doubt he'll even need more than 500gb, but keeping the hdd would be nice in case
ye
for my laptop i had to buy an hdd caddy
and i messed up the plastic cover thing for the dvd drive lmao
We both got one for like $35
my laptop is probably worth 100 at best
so im not selling it
just gonna keep it as backup
once i get another laptop ofc
I do wish there was a cheapish in between to have good battery life but still run non demanding games, the g15 had maybe 2.5hr battery life for school work even with gpu disabled
Mx gpu would be nice, but tends to be expensive
Tbh might keep this lenovo for myself to have the extra storage and give my brother the hp one
Not like he's paying for it anyways lmao
idk if i really need 17 inches laptop
but damn some good deals are poppin up here rn
I definitely don't, I'd be fine on a 14in
im fine on 14 too
but 15 is what im used to
17 probably gets too big, i have limited desk space lol
My first laptop was 17, I actually preferred 15 to 17
im trying to get 15 or 16
they're about the same size really for recent ones
like victus 16
Didn't know 16 was a thing
it's less common but it had been a thing since like 2019
afaik
hp started it first
with their pavilion gaming lineup
then victus, pavilion with a new name
i feel like 16 is becoming new "17"
ryzen igpus?
my 5825u can run CSGO and minecraft at 120fps, so could most likely do slightly more demanding stuff at 60
and the 6000 series is even better *probably $$$ tho
Yeah ig, hard to find a 5000 series laptop used though
6000 series laptops with no dgpu are $800+
Yeah, if prices were lower I'd love one
I got my 5825 laptop for under $550 after discounts and rebates. No backlit keyboard, but other than that it's great
I'd likely just want a 5500u one, I don't need much cpu power
I might try putting another stick of 8gb ram in one of these laptops and seeing if valorant will run
I doubt it though
Uhd 620
there were some really good deals on other 5000 series laptops but they were 13in and I really wanted 15
Actually it might get low settings 60fps
Any good 27” 1440p 165hz-ish deals rn?
Or something close
Got a friend who needs a monitor like that for $250 or less preferably
Xbox Series S is for 238$ after code : LABORDAYSAVE https://www.ebay.com/itm/125130710386
Gigabyte g27q probs, you missed hp x32 over last few days for 200$
Actually still on, 32" but insane deal
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-31-5-ips-qhd-amd-freesync-gaming-monitor-black/6483573.p
Man, for some reason I thought this was a 1080p monitor. If it's still going by friday, I'll pick it up.
It's an insane deal tbh
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/CZ3gXL/amd-ryzen-7-5800x3d-34-ghz-8-core-processor-100-100000651wof
Interesting, 385
Could be a case for the gamer who wants the fastest of fast
Great drop in upgrade, especially if they don't have the best memory
that Arctic 240 aio lookin an awful lot like a 140 or 120
Is that a good monitor. I just bought a PC. i9/3090. I just want something to play casual fortnite with.
Yea the 520 & 320 names both make no sense. The LF 280 is definitely a solid deal on ebay.
someone said ls720 and magically felix appeared 😛
Given the prices, 280 > 360 IMO. 360 only got ~8% more usable surface area then 280.
I was here before it was said
Trying to get this desktop for my grandparents.
Is it a good deal?
Decent, although would slap an ssd in it
Would there be a way to transfer the windows home downloaded already to the ssd or would I have to pay for another key? Also what monitor will be fine with this should I get a 1080p one?
Macrium reflect
my IT department uses PC Mover (but that’s a paid program)
How's that firacuda ssd
Ohh does that really work?
I can vouch for Macrium Reflect as well
Though I would not recommend using it on a dying hard drive
yea, I've used it a few times, the free edition is fine
Clones the drive, it's pretty easy this tutorial should do
https://youtu.be/lSdSNAjmdDg
This tutorial will show you how to clone a disk using Macrium Reflect 8. The destination disk will be larger than the original source disk and we will resize the new partitions.
https://www.macrium.com/
There's programs or ways to find the key currently installed on the pc, then could use it when OS is fresh installed to os
Or sign into your Microsoft account and the key will be automatically linked
Why not just run wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey?
Haha warpig, gen 4 snob. (As I say w/ my a P41). Yea decent price but almost what it just should cost, being QLC. Crucial itself is pushing the discount (also)
Good QLC though
oos already for the eBay deal
Probably
72 orders in a few mins
Just when I was getting excited too. Didn’t even have a chance to open up ebay on the pc
lol I added to cart but wasted time on checkout
should had to do quick paypal checkout
Does that work with oem keys too?
If it's the same motherboard yes
OEM keys just can't be transferred between motherboards
Ohh I see thank you.
I think some can.
Moved my brother from a Dell office PC +1050ti to a fresh build and we got the key to carry over
Had to hit a few buttons in the activation settings page but it worked
$70 mobo is solid but $50 extra for 11700K is pretty nuts. 🤣
-- I want ADL/RPL but would've snagged that RKL combo!
Wait what is ADL/RPL?
I would’ve had to get a new psu for it but I think it would’ve still been worth it
100%
adl = alder lake
rpl = raptor lake
Ohh I see.
adl = aldies
Wait what is RKL?
rocket lake i assume
Raptor king lake?
rocket lake
Cpu power is overblown tbh. The worst numbers are in 100% use like cinebench or w/e. In most games, cpu watts much more reasonable and system wattage is probably within 20 or so watts of a 12700K for instance.
that 11700k + z590 back to stock
Yes
already gone tho
Why so cheap
last-gen, about to be 2 gens back later this year
yep
ALD =Aldi
Ahhh. I already fell asleep. Shame
Lidls better
:)1
Any great deals on a good mechanical keyboard? Looking on the affordable side.
Huntsman's CTRL key just combusted after two years so I'm stuck with a not so great blackweb blue switch walmart keyboard
What's your budget?
Under 100 CAD @brittle lagoon
I initially had a decent deal on a MSI GK50 for 40% off on amazon, but it then decided to both cancel the order for 75 CAD and then bump it back up to full price, 125
Being honest though, I genuinely have no clue why the ctrl key on my huntsman died.
Dismantled it to look under the plate, and nothing visually looks any different.
LED works fine on the key but it just doesn't respond.
the switch is probably dead
That's what I assumed. It's why I'm here now
Going from purple switches to a walmart blue switch is one hell of a change.
Lmao
I was really hoping to get that deal on the GK50, since kailh choc switches aren't bad at all
At least what I've seen
They're just low-profiles
🤷♂️
The problem with that is that I don't have a keyboard with replaceable switches.
The huntsman I used had soldered purples
And I assure you this blackweb won't do it lmao
Hey, it lasted for more than two years
It had great response times. Couldn't complain.
True, their PBT caps cost quite a bit
and their keyboards are overpriced
I was gonna go so far as to buy a reddragon
and I don't think that's a great idea
Wanna know the sad part of my PBT cap purchase?
I accidently chose green instead of black.
I had shrek keys.
Lol the ABS caps that came with the huntsman
The C key broke in a month
just snapped
I bought a kit of these only to find out that they don't fit in my board 😩
No its not that
The redragon board I have has hotswap switches but apparently kailh don't fit
I'd have to file down the pins iirc
Outemu has smaller pin holes or smthn
Not length, width
outemu has smaller pins
Now to find a great one under 100CAD for the full price
so you gotta file down for other switches not outemu
If anyone has recommendations for a board base that will fit the kailh switches I'll take a look
comes with switches though
This Full-Size (104 keys) GMMK Modular Mechanical Gaming Keyboard comes preinstalled with brown Gateron switches and black keycaps. Glorious is the world's first and best Modular Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, that allows you to easily swap between Cherry, Gateron, & Kailh switches. Minimalistic design. No branding!
can customize this to come without switches
Why gmmk when you can have keychron :p
Gmmk just 3 pin hotswap not lubed stabs and usually more expensive, also keychron boards at similar price are wireless too.
trying to find something to put my kailh silver set into
Could prob do the same with a cheaper keychron board
also want 100% layout, narrows options quite a bit because for some reason people don't like numpad
barebones is $175 💀
How is keychron's latency?
