One thing I like about the anime is that they actually bother to give some understanding (albeit limited) of how the different kinds of magic works.
Whereas a lot of other isekais just basically say "It's magic" and leave it at that.

Indeed, it's not just magic in that world since it relies on tech for the more potent spells. It's not too dissimilar from a magic focus like a staff but still, having it be tech forces it to follow certain rules.
