Hello, recently upgraded my build a couple of days ago. New mobo is a gigabyte x570 aero g.. it’s been working fine until today the 2.5 Ethernet port just stopped working I have idea what’s causing the issue or how to fix it. I’ve tried installing the intel 225 driver update from gigabyte, but that didn’t work either. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. Also in the bios it says link status on the controller says disconnected

Hello everyone,
Yesterday my pc's wifi speed was suddenly very slow. I ran a speed test and it ran at about a fourth of the intended speed. All my other devices run at the correct speed.
My pc seems to not go over 40 mbps, I've connected it to 3 different internets and none went over 40.
I have most recent internet drivers.
Ive tried network reset.
Windows is up to date.

The i5 6400 is too old for Windows 11 officially because it doesn't have a TPM.
You'll need to bypass the TPM using a customized ISO to install with.

as for my use case, it'd be nice to be able to quickly switch among, say

• win11 for the touch/pen/multi gesture support
• android for the mobile apps
• fedora, hopefully a middle ground between performance / feature (run fast + touch/pen support)
• ChromeOS who knows might win in the end thanks to its Android/Linux support, and maybe even being to run some windows apps with Wine
• MacOS ??? I'd prob give up on this one unless it's known to work on my particular laptop

and at the very least the multibooting would be nice to test/compare them alongside, instead of 1 by 1

The ESP partition is your bootloader, it's critical, and the smaller partitions are for recovery and diagnostics. You can delete the 2gb partition, #4.

sooo basically i bought an external disc drive, as neither of my laptops have one. works fine with my CDs but, with DVDs, it just doesnt work. I installed VLC media player and it works fine with CDs also, but, when i play DVD's (using Zootopia for this example) it just brings me to the DVD menu on the movie where i'd click play, or spanish version, settings etc, and after i click play it just- shows the VLC cone logo. nothing happens. will not play. its set as my default media player too. idk why

hello lately my pc has been crashing when playing no man’s sky and it’s always at the same point in the game, the sound cuts and then my pc crashes giving me the blue screen with the sad face error and restarting (i was only experiencing this with no man’s sky) and just today i was playing risk of rain 2 and the game suddenly crashed giving the same error and i’m starting to think it’s a software issue and not steam

I'm having issues with audio in Windows Home Professional SP3 32 Bit

I've installed it on a laptop that fully supports the operating system in order to play some older games

There is no audio device

It doesn't show up in device manager, it doesn't show as a device that isn't installed, I've tried 3 drivers, manually installing the drivers via the "Add Hardware" tool and still nothing

In order to get sound, I have to plug in a USB audio device and connect it via aux to a speaker

I know the device is supposed to be a Realtek HD Audio device but even the toshiba driver doesn't install it

There is only one driver that is an audio device, and that's my USB audio.

The only other driver with any relationship with audio is this UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio

I had this issue as well. It would always show after my PC went to sleep. If you run the activation troubleshooter in the activation settings, it will recognize it as activated until you sleep or hibernate again. After that, a full reboot is necessary. It got so annoying I just switched to Windows 11 instead 🥴

What part is confusing you? It's pretty much just run the tool and tell it what drive to use. There will be 2 partitions created, one large for your ISO files and one small for the boot loader.

You can upgrade the drive and still keep the same license. It's easiest to do if you sign into a Microsoft account so it auto activates.

It should have a windows installation and key already on the small drive right? Log into your windows account on that install and run windows update. Then you can swap drives, clean install on the new drive, and login again and it should auto activate.

put it in the pc for now and install

then you can clone to other drives externally

using either a disk image or just clone feature

Yep. You can run the installer to one drive by swapping it into your laptop, then just copy that drive.

In this instance it can't. Basically my friend formatted them on Mac, so they're using the exFAT format, and that can't take boot media

So I'm reformatting them to NTFS

If that error is showing during the installation and it's not showing the disk at all, that's a separate issue.

If it's showing up like he said then you can absolutely just delete all the partitions and tell it to install to the empty space. It'll make whatever it needs.

When using OneDrive in windows it shows up like a regular folder, just with cloud and local icons to show if it's on the PC or not.
You can mount OneDrive on Linux too.

Mounting onedrive on Linux might be nice. But according to google the document has to be only In onedrive to edit it with the online editor. I will experiment though.

If you want to make a vm, first you’ll need some software to make on in. A popular one is VirtualBox.

You can use the windows/linux sandbox which is what i would do unless you need persistence then use virtual box

You can convert a disk to gpt with diskpart too if it's not already, no data loss involved.

Another thing you can try if it still doesn't work is deleting all the partitions and telling it to install to the unallocated space. It'll make what it needs to.

You might need to manually select an OS

HP drivers usually come in self extracting zip executable files. You can run it and select where you want the drivers extracted to.

Yeah most of the time you don't need a driver for the SSD itself, but you do need the SSD controller driver which is often included in the SMBus chipset driver.
