32 bit operating systems are limited to 4gb (3.5ish really) of system memory. You probably want 64 bit.

#

There's plenty of ways. eBay is one. Most of them are considered gray market so not something we can discuss in this server.

idle hollow
#

gotcha, thanks

merry elm
crisp spire
#

it also has an option to restart the windows update service so id try that too @sudden yacht

#

think its under networking fixes

#

now that i think about it

#

thas dum

#

ill reorder the script today

dawn socket
#

malwarebytes doesn't like your ram cleaner bat 😛

crisp spire
#

it doesnt like any of my batch files

#

since unsigned code

#

which is dumb

#

because you cant sign a batch file

spice beacon
crisp spire
dawn socket
crisp spire
#

yeeee im very happy with the ram cleaner script

spice beacon
#

Noice

dawn socket
idle dragon
#

4.1GB usage idle in win10

#

But does it clean temporary or it cleans it every time?

crisp spire
#

does it when u run it

idle dragon
#

So Id have to run it every time

#

Oke

#

I can set something to start as the computer does

crisp spire
#

drag it into shell:startup

vestal ibex
crisp spire
spice beacon
spice beacon
vestal ibex
crisp spire
#

i dont feel comfortable asking people to set execution policy to unrestricted either tbh

#

so when i port the script to powershell, ill keep maintaining a batch version and a powershell version

dawn socket
#

what is powershell?

crisp spire
#

But in a good way

#

Windows good

idle dragon
#

i remember someone sending a ram cleaning tool, i cant find the message and i need the file since my pc runs at 4.1gb ram at idle and i wanted to see if the tool can help

#

maybe @crisp spire you sent it?

spice beacon
idle dragon
#

oooh now i found it

#

Thanks

#

I knew it was somewhere but I didn't check the utilities

#

WOOOOOW

#

2.2GB

#

(with chrome open)

#

but how does that works? does it close background apps, clean cache...?

idle dragon
#

@spice beacon is it ok if I put the .bat file in the startup "section" or will it interfere with other startup programs?

#

Question: can i somehow set a timer for the .bat file (or even any file) to start after a certain amount of time after I turn on the pc?

spice beacon
#

like this

idle dragon
crisp spire
idle dragon
#

does it make a difference if i paste the file or make a shortcut?

dawn socket
#

I don't think so

#

I just checked my folder and had a shortcut to a launcher

#

and it launches every boot up

#

I am curious about a "timer" though

idle dragon
#

in my opinion the shorcut is better because if you want to delete the file from the pc you can simply remove it from the desktop

dawn socket
#

I'd want to use it after everything else has loaded up?

idle dragon
idle dragon
crisp spire
#

ad a https:// at the beginning

#

the link is being deleted by the bot

idle dragon
#

oh ok

#

in fact i checked the .bat code and it had an http link and the program itself was too short to clean ram

#

im sure 20 lines of code cant run a full program... 🙃

crisp spire
#

add the line

#

there

#

so itll start up with ur pc but wait how much ever u want to actually run

crisp spire
idle dragon
#

wait, do i have to write copy this 4 times to get it to 20?: ping 127.0.0.1 -n 6 > nul

crisp spire
#

theres a section that checks if the file exists before downloading and if it exists, itll skip download

idle dragon
#

ok

#

but does it start after windows loaded, right?

#

as soon as i log in?

crisp spire
#

so like that

idle dragon
#

ok

crisp spire
#

actually

#

put it there

idle dragon
#

mh

crisp spire
#

itll just wait to run the commands

#

since ur delaying it

idle dragon
#

ok, it starts with win, but as soon as i log into my account?

crisp spire
#

yeah

idle dragon
#

ok

crisp spire
#

actually im dumb

#

u can totally not copy paste 4 times

idle dragon
#

i tought it would have started even if you didnt log

crisp spire
#

ping 127.0.0.1 -n 21 > nul

#

thatll delay by 20 seconds or so

idle dragon
#

n21 changes the value

#

so n21 = 20s

crisp spire
#

roughly

#

u can test

#

there

#

make changes in that

#

and see how much delay u wanna add

#

change the number after the -n

#

save and run

idle dragon
#

i just need to change the nX right?

#

ok

crisp spire
#

itll start paused

#

so press any key

#

and start counting down

#

itll pause again when done

idle dragon
#

so as soon as i touch a key it starts.... nice

crisp spire
#

yeah

#

so u can count accurately

#

add as much delay as u want

idle dragon
#

ok

#

thank you

#

ill restart my pc and see how it does

dawn socket
#

so what happens if I run this while I'm playing a game or something?

idle dragon
#

Problem
...
Actually... There is this thing that bothers me because when the file opens it asks for admin permission
And also (maybe due to the programs still loading and the pc being slow) it takes a while after I press the key

#

Uff

#

I'll make some tests

idle dragon
crisp spire
crisp spire
#

that cant be helped

idle dragon
#

Yeah I know but it asks every time

#

Uff

#

I'll try putting more delay

dawn socket
#

any way to turn uac off for individual programs?

idle dragon
#

@crisp spire now it asks me to press any key to clean ram
Can I remove that? I just want to click on the admin message and have my ram cleaned automatically

#

But I still want to keep the timer

#

Do I have to remove the "pause"?

crisp spire
#

the pause was just so u could dial in the previous command

idle dragon
#

Ok, I remove pause, set the timer to 20-25

#

Btw, it starts before I log in

#

It starts when the motherboard logo appears

crisp spire
crisp spire
#

hmmm

#

like start clearing ram?

#

or just the admin message

idle dragon
#

I just counted the time

#

And it starts when the logo appears

idle dragon
#

no, wait.... maybe i got it, it: the admin message appears as soon as windows is loaded (about 3 seconds after) then ther is the black cmd line waiting on top and after 20s it cleans ram

#

and the cmd line disappears

#

ok, got it. like i said before: the latency is between message and atual ram cleaning process

#

the message actually appears after 8sec because windows is still loading other things

idle dragon
#

overall, if i click yes on the admin message the time it takes is 10s from win 10 log in

#

perfect

#

very good thank you!

crisp spire
#

np

idle dragon
#

now it starts with 2.2-.3 gbof ram

#

like after a fresh reset

vestal ibex

You can right click your programs folder and hit properties. Give it a few minutes to index and you'll see the total. You can do the same to documents, videos, etc

sharp dune
#

Ok

idle dragon
#

I went on properties too to check (for example) warzone that used over 200GB, if I just put the cursor on the folder it says 100GB but if I see properties it says over 200GB

yo whats up, can someone help me? my computer constantly stutters ever couple of seconds, trying to find a fix
i am running on a 2700x on windows 11, sometimes it just randomly stops???? i have redownloaded some drivers
trying to figure out what can solve it for good so i can finally play some games again:0

vestal ibex
#

Update your bios and install chipset drivers. It's also very sensitive to memory latency if you can overclock that.

balmy grove
#

Stutters?

#

It could be fTPM

#

AMD has perf issues with it on

#

Win 11 by default requires TPM to be on

#

You can bypass it tho

peak notch
#

yeah install win 10 ez bypass

vestal ibex
#

Sure but that still doesn't disable the tpm, you have to do that yourself. Latest bios enable it automatically.

crisp spire
#

enable for updates every couple of weeks

#

and disable after updates again

balmy grove
#

Honestly I'd just use rufus to make tpm bypassed install media

#

Windows would still work as normal

crisp spire
#

Holy poop there were a lotta bugs in v12

#

glad i didnt upload to github pre testing

#

should be all gone now

#

time to update release

#

Im pretty happy with V12

Notepad++ is very nice mostly because it'll tell you if you're making a syntax mistake while you type it. It also automates close tags and things.

I have to update MSI a320m a pro BIOS

#

I wanted to know if MSI click bios 5 was compatible with this mobo

#

This one ↓

#

I have the "MSI click bios" (1?)

#

I just took the most recent file from MSI.com bios versions

#

But it didn't change

spice beacon

Uhh it will be in the bios if it's there, maybe if you update might be there but uh it's not like you could install a portion of the bios anyway

And also why does it matter lol?

drowsy oracle
idle dragon
#

Maybe updating bios will let me change

#

I don't know why I have click bios 1 and not click bios 5, I saw a bunch of videos where people had click bios 5

cinder mauve
#

Okay so this is gonna be a difficult one...

I'm installing windows XP on an older laptop, it currently has 32bit home, I'm trying to install 64bit Pro (It has a 64 bit CPU) so I can have access to more RAM and use more programs with the computer.

I do not want to upgrade it any higher than XP. This laptop is for nostalgia purposes.

When I try to use a USB to install 64bit, I get "Setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration... NTDETECT failed"

Nothing on the internet I have found so far mentions a fix for this while installing windows, only while booting an existing windows OS.

Is there anything I can do? The system fully supports a 64 bit OS, but the installer won't go any further than NTDETECT failed.

#

I'm now getting the exact same issue with 32 bit

cinder mauve
#

Installing from a DVD seems to fix the issue, but I don't have a 64 bit DVD. I'll try and make one.

idle dragon
#

Still can't figure out how to update to click bios 5

idle dragon
#

And its also the one I have rn

#

Shouldn't it be "click bios 5"?

#

@spice beacon do you know something about this bios

#

And if the MSI a320m a pro supports the click bios 5

spice beacon
#

no idea you would have to send a link

balmy grove
#

Your model lacks that bios interface

#

So yeah, no dice

crisp spire
idle dragon
crisp spire
idle dragon
#

Yes

balmy grove
#

not all msi mobos has the click bios 5

crisp spire
balmy grove
#

it's not a version, but rather name of different ui

#

you can't update to it to have it

crisp spire
idle dragon
# crisp spire then click mflash

Now I don't have the pc with me, but when I click mflash there's only a message saying something like "select file from usb to update bios"

crisp spire
#

yes

#

thats where u uh

#

select the bios file

#

to use to update bios

#

thats how it works on all boards

idle dragon
#

I already did it yesterday with the latest bios version (for a320m a pro) you can find on msi.com

crisp spire
#

ok then ur bios is updated

idle dragon
#

But it's still click bios 1

#

So apparently there is no way to get click bios 5 on my a320?

crisp spire
#

no but it really doesnt matter

idle dragon
#

At least, is there a way to unlock more things on the bios? Like fan speed?
I saw other videos on YouTube where people were able to change settings, why can't I do that? widewegg2

Hi everyone, I have been getting this error call "driver verifier DMA violation" which completely stops me from booting into Windows 11. This happens on my ASUS Zenbook that I bought recently. I had tried reinstalling windows 11. But during the process, it can not detect its internal SSD to reinstall OS, however, it was able to show up on the BIOS page. After some digging on the internet, it appears that it could be due to an outdated storage driver. But I am not sure how am I supposed to update the driver when I can not get into windows.

vestal ibex
dull bloom
#

I can not boot into safe mode..

vestal ibex
#

Do you have a recovery or install usb?

dull bloom
#

yes and it's ready

#

but it does not detected the internal SSD to install windows

vestal ibex
#

Hmm that's not a good sign

#

A cmos reset might be in order

#

And double check that you don't have raid or intel rapid storage enabled in bios

dull bloom
#

there is no raid set up and I am sure not how to do a cmos reset on this laptop

vestal ibex
#

Looks like you'd need to take it apart to get at the battery. It might be enough to tell the bios to reset to defaults.

dull bloom
#

can i just detach the cable connected to the battery? or do i have to take the whole thing appart?

vestal ibex

That depends on your exact model but most of the ones I see it looks like you have to at least get the bottom cover off. To change a consumable battery. Great design.

cinder mauve

Hey. Could someone please guide me through the Windows 11 installation process? I've started doing it but am encountering problems

balmy grove
#

What kind of problems?

cinder mauve
#

Basically, when I use the PC Health Check app to verify if my PC meets Windows 11 requirements, the app gives me 2 warnings that say that I don't have "Secure Boot" enabled and that TPM 2.0 isn't enabled either

#

I'm not too sure on what to do to set things up correctly

#

Are these problems common? @balmy grove

balmy grove
#

Oh

#

The classic requirement of tpm 2.0

#

What's your machine's specs?

#

If it's too old, you can still install it through rufus

#

Rufus has the ability to make bypassed windows 11 image

cinder mauve
#

I got a R5 2600, GTX 1660, 16 gigs memory, B450

balmy grove
#

Hm, that surely has tpm 2.0

#

You have to enable it in bios

cinder mauve
#

Oh, right

balmy grove
#

Or not, if you want to not bother with it

cinder mauve
#

My board is a B450 Aorus Elite if that helps

balmy grove
#

I've bypassed tpm 2.0 requirement on my laptop lol

#

So it's basically optional, but I'd recommend you just turn it on

cinder mauve
#

Right

balmy grove
#

And yes, that board does have it

cinder mauve
#

Perfect then

#

Is TPM 2.0 easily findable in BIOS? I've never really messed with it

balmy grove
#

It's in security tab, usually

#

But in my experience, it shouldn't be too difficult to find

cinder mauve
#

Alright, think I got it

#

Let me check in Microsoft app

#

Perfect! Working now

#

What about Secure Boot, do you know anything about that? @balmy grove

balmy grove
#

It's also in the bios

#

Should be in boot menu

#

Tho do make sure your install media is made with gpt, as it's needed for secure boot compatible install

cinder mauve
#

I think I got Secure Boot enabled by the way, but when I save and exit it keeps booting back to BIOS, and not my usual Windows 10

balmy grove
#

It's like partition table

#

Hm, yeah. That's with it on

#

Windows always use the logo the board uses if it's on

cinder mauve
#

Weird... what should I be doing?

balmy grove
#

Well, I suggest just making install media with Rufus

#

Make sure you enable online check for updates in the program to let it download windows image online and make a boot media for you

cinder mauve
#

So, whole new process?

balmy grove
#

And choose partition type as GPT, and use FAT32 or exFAT

#

Mhm, yeah

cinder mauve
#

Should I turn secure boot off then

balmy grove
#

Microsoft's tool doesn't tend to make boot media for the right system

#

No, you don't need to

#

You can try to install with the media you already have first

#

If it doesn't work, you can easily make secure boot bypassed image

cinder mauve
#

My bad man, I'm really not used to doing stuff like thus

#

This

balmy grove
#

Don't worry about it, I'm here to guide you through

cinder mauve
#

Thanks, appreciate it

#

So, if I understood correctly

#

I should keep secure boot enabled. After that, what I'm supposed to be doing is making a Rufus install media

#

And can I do that in BIOS?

balmy grove
#

Uh, no

#

Rufus is a tool you run on windows

cinder mauve
#

Oh, I see

balmy grove
#

This is the official site

cinder mauve
#

Alright.

balmy grove
#

It does have portable version, and I recommend that

#

No need to install it on your system

cinder mauve
#

But to access Windows and then Rufus, shouldn't I turn off secure boot?

balmy grove
#

Nah

#

It's fine

cinder mauve
#

Keeps redirecting me to BIOS though

balmy grove
#

Just make install media with GPT partition scheme

#

Hm, it keeps putting you back to bios?

cinder mauve
#

I’m not able to go back to my Windows desktop from what I can see

#

Yeah

#

That's what I meant, yeah

balmy grove
#

Then use the install media you already have to run an install

#

If things are right, it should go well

cinder mauve
#

I don't have a USB prepped, nothing

#

I was just checking for requirements when I asked for help

balmy grove
#

Hmm, well then

cinder mauve
#

Yup

balmy grove
#

Okay, I get what you meant now

cinder mauve
#

👍

balmy grove
#

So this is a clean, new pc?

cinder mauve
#

Nah, it's not

#

Windows 10 is up and running on it

balmy grove
#

Ah

cinder mauve
#

I've been using it for years now

balmy grove
#

Now you couldn't go back to it?

cinder mauve
#

Nope, weird

balmy grove
#

Check boot order in bios

#

Make sure it's selecting the right drive

cinder mauve
#

Now I can send pics

balmy grove
#

Oh yeah, pics would definitely help

cinder mauve
#

Here

#

Priorities aren't even showing up I believe

balmy grove
#

Hold up, let me look up about this gigabyte bios for a sec

cinder mauve
#

Seems like it's all due to secure boot being enabled in some way, was able to see the drives before

balmy grove
#

I'm not too familiar with it

cinder mauve
#

Sure

balmy grove
#

Can you go to easy mode?

cinder mauve
#

Yup , right away

balmy grove
#

That page of the bios has a list of boot devices

#

If any is detected that is

cinder mauve
balmy grove
#

Now, show me your screen

#

Oh

#

That's odd

#

No boot devices found

cinder mauve
#

Seems to be there

#

Oh really?

balmy grove
#

It detects the drive, but not boot partition

cinder mauve
#

Oh, I see

balmy grove
#

Whelp, this is gonna be fun

cinder mauve
#

Hmm. Worked just fine before all manipulations I made

#

Probably linked to either secure boot or TPM

balmy grove
#

I suggest you disable secure boot and tpm

cinder mauve
#

Yeah, let me do that

#

Windows booting now

#

As simple as that

#

Back to my desktop, works fine

balmy grove
#

So, your windows is non secure boot

#

That's why it didn't detect any boot partition

#

Well, then.. let's just make windows 11 install with no tpm and secure boot requirements lol

#

But that's optional though, as you can always enable them back on before you upgrade

cinder mauve
#

Yeah sure if that's possible that'd be great

balmy grove
#

This whole guide should help you on it

#

I had it much harder than you do cause I was so hyped about hopping on 11 lmao

#

It was before Rufus had this update to support such thing

cinder mauve
#

I see I see

balmy grove
#

I had to mod some install files to make it work

#

But now it's possible with just a click

cinder mauve
#

Well the simpler it is the better it is I guess

balmy grove
#

Yeah

cinder mauve
#

I'll LYK if I encounter any problems. Thanks a lot for your help 🙂
