@wary furnace I meant this adapter not the other one i posted previously, whenever you have 3.5mm jack and it has 3 STRIPE line on it that means it can both transmit audio and mic, and they'll work on mobile phones or consoles etc, but it wont work on a pc because you need a Y split adapter. Like on the picture below you see only 2 STRIPE LINES per jack. Also before you do stuff like this, id follow what @fading wraith suggested and go simple like looking into the sound settings.

No Typically You just have to contact Microsoft Support and get in line and they can usually fix the issue once they validate the CD key that you are trying to use as being authentic. Ive had to do that a few times.

The keys I've been purchasing have supposedly been meant for businesses only. Microsoft is refusing to allow me to convert keys provided for multiple computers into a key for a single PC, which makes complete and total sense.
Also, whenever I attempt to do a fresh installation of Windows 10 Pro (since I had initially put Home on my PC) through my USB stick, it's forcing me to reinstall Home on the pre-installation menu, and is not giving me an option for Pro. Supposedly, the keys should work with a clean installation, regardless of their purpose.
Any advice?

My PC is having some weird behavior I've never seen before. Not sure if infected with malware or weird software bug:
Symptoms:
- Hard to describe but it seems like everything I try to do with the mouse/keyboard is immediately cancelled/reversed,
as if keys like ESC and BACKSPACE are locked, but not always
I can type in notepad, but not in chrome/FF - There's some noticeable lag just moving between virtual desktops, or unhiding the taskbar
- Components' usage apparently at idle

Events immediately preceding:
- first time clicking on the GTA V shortcut (it still had to install apparently; launch failed due to some corrupted data; from Epicgames)
- This behavior happens immediately following a reboot after a power outage
Troubleshooting attempts:
- Rebooting works for about 10 seconds. Then I noticed a command prompt window flashing.
- Task manager's startup tab: "Skype" somehow was enabled
(with an icon I'm not sure if original. I haven't used Skype recently) - I managed to log off with ALT F4, works for a bit then it's back again
- Looking at Autoruns and Process Explorer I haven't noticed something fishy
- But clicking anywhere in the Process Explorer window and it'd close

@peak notch Im suspecting Malware. I would run Windows Malicious Removal Tool. I get a MS-DOS prompt when I first start my PC when I have to start it from a complete shutdown. But that is certain Background Windows Processes that need to utilize that feature from what Microsoft has told me. @near furnace Try the WMSRT and see if that fixes the issue if it finds anything

Windows 10 Doesnt Read RAM overclocks very well in my experience. Could Just be me though. On my old system I had the RAM overclocked to 2786mhz (DDR3 Build) but Windows would only show the 2100mhz That the RAM ran at. So Based on what you are telling me when You back dated the Nvidia Driver it didnt install properly
You may Have to DDU the Driver for the Graphics Card and Install it again but with DDU the driver it gives a clean slate

I had to use another key after entering the original key during installation, but it says I'm set

a legit key wouldnt deactivate, but it attaches itself to something. If you dont have it attached to your account, it keeps track of your pc parts and if you change to many at once it will deactivate thinking its not the same computer

Might have problems with drivers because Apple uses some custom hardware, you should be able to reinstall macOS with recovery mode if you did do that but I’m not guaranteeing

I had 2 macs I tried windows 10 on, one was a slow 2 core cpu hd graphics that ran overwatch anywhere between 15-40fps via boot camp, second I had what a 5k iMac with 7700k and Radeon 580 pro I think. Anyway I was unsuccessful to get windows running with the drivers on that one for some reason

Alright serious question, i built my computer a while back and put my OS on my HDD but now i got an SSD and want to put my OS on it. Can i just install windows on the ssd and then make it my primary boot or will that erase everything i have?

Okay so i did it, set up a partition for the ssd and even told windows to install on said partition, for some reason it installed on my hard drive and just is all goofy now

You sure it didn't install on the ssd but boot to the old windows on your hdd? If you didn't remove windows from the old drive then did you change the boot order in your bios so it boots to the new ssd?

I had a similar problem with windows installations on a new ssd. I ended up having to wipe everything clean, disable the hdd, and reinstall on the ssd

@dense mirage I gave Up. Its gonna get Linux Installed on it instead. To much of a hassle to get the regular WiFi chip to work even though its compatible with Linux Software. That just means the Mint will work proeprly for it. Now Do I use Rufus to burn the ISO image to the flash drive Like I did with the android ISO

The instances are whats mounted and not letting me load the Disc for my game

Just ran it, and it said that no integrity violations were found
I was told that it might be the XMP profile that is causing it
So I have disabled it for now, and am running at the stock 2100 Mhz
I was a bit surprised to hear that the XMP profile of this very popular RAM kit could cause my Windows to crash often.
I should note that I initially thought it was Riva Statistics Tuner. I uninstalled MSI Afterburner along with that and that greatly reduced the frequency of the freezes.
