Same as any other multi core bench, highest P and E you can pass. DDR5 ram tuning will give a bit more score, the difference was larger on DDR4.

I think win 11 22h2 might still be broken for ts cpu - but iirc the difference was more than the 3k you're chasing.

If you look at a result, there's scaling for multi core but it's not perfectly linear. Example, both have the p-cores at 6.1 GHz but one has e-cores off.

Yes, but you wouldn't want to. You could boot a windows image off a cheapo sata ssd - as we do for most hwbot stuff, but if your daily nvme is connected - it'll bork both.

1650's (and the various vX versions) are pretty slick chips if you OC them

quad channel DDR3 puts you at basically DDR4 bandwidth, and the cores themselves still hold up alright

from what I've seen you can get away with super cheap aliexpress boards pretty easily (iirc the 16x0 chips are x79?). you might need a fan for the vrms, but that's not a dealbreaker imo. so with that in mind, pretty much any "real" board should also be perfectly adequate

the only thing I'd be aware of is that the x79 rampage iv seems to die a lot for some reason. I don't know why, and it's probably something repairable, but just a heads up so you don't spend extra on something with less than desirable reliability
