I'm taking my 15 yr old girl Ruby to the Vet Saturday to get her giant lipoma checked out, it weighs almost 8lbs now, doesn't hurt her but it really messes with her sense of gravity and equilibrium already

Lol actually yes. The wife and I were so distraught about leaving the pupper behind that we got a couple home cameras to keep an eye on him, with mic/speakers so we could talk to him if he seemed anxious.

Then we found out he just lays around all day...dude is more cat than dog lol

Yeah, it was a relief to discover. But yeah most dogs are okay alone for a while, but I'd say try going that route first if you're worried. Then if you see that he/she is anxious or, in the worst case, destructive, you can get various toys/vests/crates. Also, you can always give them a benny to help calm them down while you're gone. It's not harmful, and very effective! We do that for our dude when we're both gone all day, because in those cases he gets pretty anxious. Generally after about 5hrs or so is his limit on being alone

Also it helps to tire them out before you leave. Get in a good 45min-1hr walk, or play super hard with them before heading out, and they'll most likely nap most of the time you're gone
