I have had Cats, Dogs, Fish, Turtles, Rabbits, and ducks as pets but no reptilians (snakes have attempted to attach me 6 times).

Snakes definitely aren’t affectionate. I would say they “like” being held or loved/pet etc. Certain snakes just deal with it better than others.

Although she does like our body heat

They can be temperamental, and they need very specific environments. They live a long long time and will require lots of knowledge on feeding, tank sizing, things to include in tank, heat, humidity, so on so forth

But they’re super cool. We feed her frozen (thawed, warmed) mice. If you do live feedings, there’s a chance that they’ll hurt your snake

I love her tho, she just chills right next to me while I game. I’ll look over and see her bobbing her lil head at me, sometimes I’ll grab her out and she’ll curl up in my hoodie or around my arm or something

So my cat decided she wanted to pick a fight with me. I indulged her and despite her best attempts at getting me I was able to strike her on the back of the head and bring my hand back without being scratched. Does this mean I have a faster reaction time than her? Note, I didn't do anything to distract her. She had full focus on my striking hand.

I let her get a few plat bites in afterwards to make her feel better. She was a lot calmer after that
