Ok this is an actual problem
Right? Pretty sure 12700 doesn't come with a stock cooler
it does
hell, even the 12900 come with a stock cooler
Regardless yeeting a 12700 on any stock cooler is gonna leave you throttling all day
only the k skus dont get them
Yeah please do
really the k's suck?
No
You're going to be slamming that CPU against the thermal limits frequently with a stock cooler, which will reduce performance.

looks like a stock image
so should i get another cooler?
That's a ddr4 board
oh just a stock image?
that looks to be a 3060 in the picture
HOW THE HECK DO YOU KNOW
i havent seen a 1x8 pcie pin 3070
I SO CONFUISED
What's a good low watt CPU with integrated graphics
5600g
oh god ok so this isn't the motherboard
Anything cheaper?
uhh
12100
I was kinda meming lol
i mean, its not a bad option
I just need it to be able to run hd videos
so is that an ok pc D:
Well for the price I could have made you a 6900 XT list of parts
My pc is mostly for cybersecurity and light gaming , but yeah i regret my decision to prebuild
cybersecurity?
What concerns me is they don't list the cooler anywhere
comes with a stock one
they dont list motherboard or cooler and don't specify a lot of the stuff and im like ahh
oh right
STOCK
its a stock cooler...
I don't see that written anywhere tho unless I'm missing it
Didn't the stock get better?
The power limit went up a lot too, and no more Tau period so infinite boost (unless it's actually the Asrock that artificially limits it)
Probably because I don't know of any 3070 that uses a single 8 pin power connector
It's not listed anywhere, yeah it's gotta be a stock cooler
They would itemise it if it had something
The cooler in the pic looks like a V5 or something with a "custom" fan, which would be almost as bad. 4 heat pipes on a 12700 ☠️
Probably fine
Must be borderline tho
What worries me is the generic "gold"
Yeah exactly
Could be a D or E tier that just won't handle the load for very long
id be grateful for that
look at every single customer picture
every single one got a stock cooler
hi theo
Is wraith cooler enough for vr gaming
on what cpu 😳
Is this good for VR gaming?
just a heatsink?
Passive cooler
nh-p1
iirc itll handle like a 5600zx
x
not a super great cooler in terms of perf, but for passive, its great
Maybe I should slap it on my 3080
Probably a massive downgrade over a FTW3 ultra
oh yeah for sure
Hmm, maybe a freezer II 420 on a 3080 would be a good idea
Then mount a case fan onto the GPU to cool the rest of it
Probably would need to machine my own mounting bracket tho
could be a cool project
yea
Those are all 10400f
And 3060's lol
(Popular choice for a good reason)
I'm still gonna assume stock cooler though
not super confidence inspiring
No it's not
What’s the chance of me screwing up my GPU by trying to cool it with a CPU AIO?
Only thing I can think of is cracking the die with too much mounting pressure
On a 3080 they have alphacool aio's
💀
Something a bit more proper
yeah theyd have no issues throwing a stock on a 12700f then
I can't remember anyone trying a kraken g12 style aio on a 3080 in my memory
Suppose if you had a heatsink for the g6x you could if it fit
30 series doesn't have a universal bracket so AIO is really hard to do without custom building one
I would be custom building a bracket
Which 3080?
Because I kinda want to try out how that VRM fan would affect cooling the G6X
FTW3 ultra 12Gb
Hybrid kit exists lol
What’s the fun in that tho?
You can get those mini heatsinks to put on VRMs and memory
That’s what I was thinking, putting those on and using the VRM fan to somewhat help dissipate the heat
Idk how effective that would be, would be interesting to try though
@south cliff what case is that?
I feel like the core would be nice and chilly tho
They're like 10W each chip right?
DIYPC IDX6-BK-RGB
Try 2.5W
Oh ok
that's cool that the IO is on the side like that
Just for giggles to compare what you could get for the $1700 prebuilt price... https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RWGL78
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400, Radeon RX 6900 XT, Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower
and thatll SMOKE that prebuilt in basically every game
Not just "basically" any game, literally any game
yeah
yeah thats why i got it
Damn it dude 😭
Oh is that good
Very. 6900 XT is one of the best GPUs you can buy right now, and that's one of the better models. 12400 is still more than capable of running any game at its best speed.
A lot better
Plus you can still use Windows 10 that way
Reason: Bad word usage
what?
You could always return it meg, when it turns up
Should I buy that instead and return this one 😭😭😭
I just returned another pc today 💀🫡
what did you get?
If you can build one, fal'cie's list is really good
Skytech prebuilt 🪦
oh nooo
i used to want one of those when io was in 6th grade
You can also go a little more extreme with that list and fit a 6950XT if you really want to stretch that 1700 budget to the limit
yeah i'll definitely look into it
yeah
I got it fixed and I got it to post. But it will only allow me to use the last 2 ram slots??
prob broken slots
can i boost it to an i7?
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/wvillain/saved/#view=s64JnQ
only thing i don’t have in here is a cpu and a mobo as im unsure what the best budget gaming cpu and mobo is
he doesn’t care to go intel or amd, whichever is better bang for buck
my buddy was gonna build a separate build we had planned for around 2k CAD, however plans didn’t work out and we gotta cut the budget down about $800. 1200-1300 CAD is the max budget that he can shoot for AFTER TAXES. so final price as to be under $1300 CAD. everything i have on there rn is a cheap ballpark price with some half decent specs (i think) however with any suggestions or changes feel free to change the pcpp list and send it back to me
Saved Part Lists
dont get 1660 super
and your overpaying on case
well w gpu prices esp in canada rn, i don’t think i’ll be able to get a 30 series card with a $1300. 4000d airflow at best buy is 114.99 + tax
just left it on amazon
get a amd card
very well could
6600xt-6700xt
If you wanted, either by spending more now on the 12700 or by upgrading later
You could drop back a tier on GPU but... then you lose fps
he doesn’t want to get a lot of frames, just wants to have a good gaming experience
well that doesent gie us alot
5600x a good cpu?
yes and for gamin
264 in cad
well thats a little over priced
it’s cad, everything’s overpriced
inflation rn for us is disgusting
$30 for smokies at the damn store
get the 12400f
i was just thinking abt that
$250 after taxes and shipping
better than 264
gigabyte b660x ax for mobo?
that’s the board i have and i’ve had no complaints
199.99
i have it myself yes, but build is for buddy
fair
find someting cheaper in the b660
msi b660m-g would do fine
yes
Should I go for the 5900x discount? or the 5800x?
and which part should i buy first? MSI MEG B550 Unify Gaming Motherboard or the cpu xD im debating rn
buy cpu first you might lose daeal
both are on sale which is why im hesitant xD
i think you should get the 5900x how much is it
395.99
well buy cpu its more expensive
for a $20 diff i think the gigabyte one would be better no? future proof for upgrade capability as well
alr. Is there any notice on when the mobo discounts will end on amazon? cuz ii hope it lasts until next friday
$20 diff imo, i’ll keep the msi one in mind for sure tho thank you
And i just want to make sure will the Msi MEG B550 unify work with a 5900x? some are confusing like saying 4000 and 5000 series ready then literally says "not compatible with these cpu's and etc"
yes
it's just a false positive on pcpp lol
and most b550 boards has flashback
so if the bios didn't come updated
you can update without even needing cpu
just plug power supply in and you're good to update the bios on board with flashback
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08Q2685ZN/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=A2SNQ4AQTVSAXZ&psc=1 So does this have the flashback or nah
The MEG series seeks to transcend current gaming products, the flagship model designed to push the limits of what an extreme gaming series can be. Combining the strengths of our existing arsenal with new innovative technology; this results in significant improvements in operational and gaming eff...
the unify does have it
okie
good
Change of plans. Had to get the mobo. Said 14 left in stock. Not taking any chances. Especially when i wanted the Z690 carbon for amd but it went out of stock instantly once it was on sale 😭
well one of my extition cords just blew up
Guess it wasn't rated for the amperage your new GPU adds
no my pc is conected to its own outlety
it was just an extition cord \
that didnt have anything on it
Weird
ded
Unless you already have an amd mobo, get a 12700f
I dont feel like scrolling up to read the rest
nah. im switching over to amd xD. I like their smart cache feature plus its long term as well.
... that's not how performance works but ok
They're good for creating and im trying to create.
12700f is $85 cheaper and performs the same
yeah that's called futureproofing
in other words, the f word
because it's dumb and pointless
It isn't even "futureproofing" though
remember the fx series and how it was the first to have like 6 cores?
It's the opposite actually
how'd that turn out for amd?
12700f atleast has a slight upgrade path with 13900
Will never understand where people get the idea that amd is better than intel or vice versa
Oh
intel trash bro
I'm tired and forgot who I was talking to
lmao
It's my finals week I want to die
meh. a PC is a PC. im not big on specifics. Just what is compatible and can get me through for 3-4 years until i upgrade to the 7000 series. Im not going for next gen anyways cuz why would i pay so much when i can wait a few years and get it cheaper. I mean look at the 5000 series discounts rn.
I have pre calc and history tmrw
7000 series will be old by then
Also
12700f is literally $85 cheaper than the 5900x
And performs nearly the exact same, if not slightly better
trash
And can run on a $140 b660
how dare you suggest information that's verifiably and objectively true
5000 series being marked down means nothing when they're still overpriced compared to intel counterparts
they're still more expensive than the competition lol
thats fine. and it will still be powerful as well. Its not a big difference. Look at 12900k and 13900k leaks. Its a tad faster but not by a lot. just the few 15-20% performance increase just makes the viewers jaws drop but not me cuz both can get u by just fine.
It's like saying I'll buy this 3090 ti for $1800 instead of this 3080 12gb for $900, since the 3090 ti is on sale
They game so similarly you wouldn't notice a difference
you really expect amd to get more performance boost?
This is making my soul hurt
I'm out
15-20% is literally industry standard
It's a one piece enjoyer idk what we were thinking
That is a joke, luffy
idk what we were thinking indeed
Idfc what animes you like
that was not
I think ima order the clc 280 tmrw night
Lol. just basically i dont care. I need a pc that's gonna get me by for a few years lmfao.
And im still debating if I just want to rebuild now
👍
Me when ignore the entire conversation
lol
I think I'm going to end up just grabbing a 5700x/5800x3d used when next gen drops, so I'll be keeping my mobo
also im going to add that why would i get a 12th gen intel cpu when possibly a 13th gen i5 or i7 would run the same as a i9? Im just going to wait a few gens until i upgrade again lol
So I think I'm going to rebuild soon
Your logic is hurting me on a physical level
"Why buy this less expensive thing that performs the exact same instead if this more expensive thing that does the exact same stuff thr same way but is red, when I'll just upgrade in 3 years"
Sorry if I'm coming off as rude
As I said, do what you want
nah its all good. Im open minded xD i see what ur saying. But I just like AMD better. Even tho i never had a amd cpu before. ima just do my experiments
You've made it clear nothing will change your mind, you seem dead set on and
There's no difference aside from intel being lga
Meaning pins are on intel mobos, pins are on amd cpus
Soon to be changing with 7000 series
i watched a bunch of videos as well and amd just catches my eye better due to the amount of creativity you can do i suppose
Which kinda sucks, since the pins can be broken easier on amd
A cpu is a cpu, brand doesn't change that
Aside from E cores having some issues with some very specific productivity tasks
Such as virtual machines
But then you'd be looking at a 5950x or thread ripper system
Alr, I'm out now. I need to sleep
I'd rather not fail my exams tmrw
you slumber, a cucumber
then whats up with the Smart cache that'll make ur games run faster if u have a amd cpu and gpu? I mean that sounds nice to me. Tbh i dont mind how a game looks sometimes but i'd honestly love to run 4k games on FSR 2.0 at 100+ fps rather than high 60-80
That's a marketing ploy
moot point
go ahead. I'm just here living
And as of right now fsr isn't implemented into games, and 4k gaming is kind of a meme
Also, cpu is not very important in 4k gaming
A 3600 and 3090 would do fine together for 4k lol
understandable. 4k gaming is something i've never seen even tho i have a 4k monitor. just my gpu cant handle that rn
the gpu is the limiting factor at 4k
Or 6900xt
3600 and 3080 fine at 1440p
or die
I also need the cpu for creating as well. Im trying to do blender, premeire pro, after effects. etc.
then SAM won't matter, will it?
it'll be dependent on pure cpu performance
in which case, we already made our point
Reason: Bad word usage
damn
rip
I was saying SAM is good to use for gaming. I know u guys say its a marketing scheme but at least AMD is trying to be innovative and tries to back up what they say. Unlike intel with their gpu's. I mean they look like doodoo so far xD
lol what kinda straw man you pulling
that's not relevant to the point of you just need a cpu that can run CPU intensive tasks
and choosing a product solely because you like the company is not a smart use of money
cough Teslacough
I mean i'll see for myself. I've watched tons of videos and i've wanted Intel trust me and it shocked me that intel came back. But I just probably need a breath of fresh air xD.
okay, I sleep
I guess i'll create my own cpu then
but, nvidia is my friend
ya they woulda had my money but ima be stupid and risky. I mean i already got the MSI unify board so meh gotta commit at this point
see ya. gn
Sam is good yes.
Lool
Is there something in the bios or anything I can do to make these 2 ram slots work?
Which 2 slots are you talking about?
Because if you mean you're trying to add 2 more sticks to your current 2 sticks that can be tricky, especially if they're different dies.
I7 4790k vs i9 9900k which would you prefer?
do you need this to be answered
Over kill build just for my brother to join us
whats the total budget
and what country do you live in
9900k not good to buy new
and if gaming not good to buy at all
gets slapped around by the 12400 in gaming
Just a cheap little rocket league machine and trying to do something different already have i3 10100 and i5 10600 on intels side
@jade forge Look I bought a I7 4790K and planted it on a Asus Z97 Sabertooth S and it's so slow and unresponsive I don't even bother to boot it up
Troll lvl info tbh. I've had a 3550 & 3770 for a while (not like I'd say get a 3rd/4th gen obv. Was pleased w/ both. I'd aim for 12400, 11400, 10400 though depending on total pricing of each setup. Pre-10gen possibly not worth getting.
It works fine for Roblox I imagine, was gonna re case it and pass it on to a seven year old.
Nice Strix 1070 (I think). Yea fairly decent for 1080p. Hopefully no hdd in there.
it's a Strix 1060, but a good eye just the same
And operates on a 1 TB SSD, but I'll dump a old 1 TB HD in it for the brats along with Win7
Nice. Pass on Win7, and I'm who used until about 8months ago.
Well they are 7 years old, I suspect the Z97 will have a shorter lifespan then the Retro SNES I gave em, which was about 90 days so its gonna end up as recycled parts

Something with no top mounted fans and little or no side panels
Time to sleep and wake up to my new Lian this afternoon
Really?
Bruh, you are checking under motherboard in hwinfo64 right? Just wanna make sure if so big assuck moment
hey im wanting to get a case that will fit a good 420mm AIO what should i get, money is irrelivent
or a good 360mm
P500a supports 420mm on the front
Yeah
Also aida64 engineer version
P500a or 5000d airflow
ok ok thank you
5000D is only 360mm
Can confirm.
Oh oof
Looking at reviews/what people have said, 5800x on this board is a terrible idea
Even a 5700x on it would be pushing it
I'll just leave this build mostly in tact and either give it to a family member or sell it
Define 7, Meshify 2, P500A, Silent Base 802, P600S, Enthoo pro 2, Torrent, HAF 700, 7000D/7000X all fit 420mm
I was wrong about the 5000d airflow
Luke this isn't psus you can't know anything about cases
Not allowed
Good
hmm?
Nothing, just messing with Luke
and then for the actual cooler i was thinking about going with the ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II
thoughts on that?
360mm would do the job, especially if you don't plan to overclock
360mm would be plenty unless you plan to overclock hardcore, like 250W+
no i don't plan on overclocking but I'm very worried about temps
Do you live in a desert?
no but my house is 90F
Then 360 is more than enough
ok ok
What are you using the pc for?
280 is even enough for that at stock, 360 is the extra headroom you wanted. If you want to spend the extra on 420 that's your choice to make.
Tbf, 420 lf2 is only like 15 more than the 360
ok so if i went to a threadripper 3rd gen
But also requires a bigger case
why lol
Well
Then you'd need a new cooler, because the TR4 socket is not compatible
yes i know
Unless you want 16 channel memory and or the extra pcie lanes
im wanting to upgrade
What are you using the pc for
games
...
...
Thread rippers are not gaming cpus
Threadripper 3970X gets wrecked in games by the 5600X
3995wx games like a 3600x
Just because you have money to throw around doesn't mean it helps
Just get a 12900k and be done with it
Yep. And with a 12900k you'll have a reason to go for that 420mm too.
ok so i have a follow up question
Shoot
so should i go amd or intel if im going to be just playing games and stuff
ok
Unless you'll be building it at the end of this year when next gen comes out, just go 12900k
I'm assuming you have a *** ton of money and dgaf how much this build costs?
I'm not to I'm on intel stuff what should i know
Based off of the thread ripper comment?
im not to knowledgable*
All you really need to know about the difference between 12900k and 5950X is Intel requires Windows 11 and uses more power in all core workloads. And it's better in gaming.
Do you have a budget
Or is money not anything to pay heed to
yeah pretty much
Ooh no budget builds are fun. I'm doing other stuff, you go have a field day baka lol.
hmm?
Someone will post up a list of parts for you to consider here in a few minutes
ok
Sometimes multiple someones
why?
Because picking parts is fun for nerds lol
If you literally don't care about money, as in you have too much to care about, here https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Gr9rcb
PC Builder - Intel Core i9-12900K, GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, Corsair 7000D AIRFLOW ATX Full Tower
There's one million percent much better price/perf out there
But if you just want the best possible crap and have more money than you could use, go for it
As in, 3080 12gb for $1200 less than games 7% worse
12700f for $300 that games the same
ok ok
Yeah that's probably 10% more performance for 150% more money but that's about the best there is for gaming right now
I'm assuming you do actually have a budget?
should i wait till the end of the year when some more tech comes out like am5 and 4000 seires?
also 1200w is overkill for that build
RGB instead of A-RGB? Was it out of stock?
And no KS?!
No it's not lol
If you want
Yeah it is
Lol
3090 ti spikes high, 1000 would be enough but it's fine. Man says no budget, so I did no budget
I'm running an oc'd 3960x and a 500w bios 3090 and it barely pulls 1000w
You have no idea the damage you just did to my soul
Why?
That 3090 ti GPU pulls 500W stock and probably spikes to 750W
"Should I buy a $3500 cpu" "all I play is minecraft"
Then do I have the monitor for you
I cant tell if you're rich beyond measure or if you're trolling
I work over 70h a week
Thats disgusting
Exactly
Why would you waste the money you work so hard for then
And it'll look damn gorgeous playing ANYTHING
You will enjoy it just as much from a 2k build
Minecraft can run on my almost 10 year old laptop
I can run shaders on my 3050 ti laptop
this thing is X amount of money and it takes X amount of time to get that much money, will i get that much fun back of the time spent
You'll get the same amount of fun while saving 2k
true but I kind of pride myself on this type of stuff
well
trying to
get what i mean?
If you put this build side by side with the other one, you will not notice a difference https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mKPX2m
PC Builder - Intel Core i7-12700F, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower
ESPECIALLY in minecraft
Thats worse than what i currently have though
a ryzen 7 5800x with a 3080ti and 64g of ram
hmm?
Annoying asf
my computer works fine, I would just like to have another?
A better monitor will be a better upgrade for you either way. You'd be amazed what an OLED can do to change your gaming experience.
Ok I can look more into that, but I apologize it was not my intent to waste anyones time
I was just genuinely curious.
and i do plan on useing those builds
but im giving away my current computer
That's why I'm getting a new one
Not surprised tbh
Neither am i
That's what I'd do, if upgrading jump on 13th gen
Yeah, prolly will
If I'm giving the build to a family member I'll probably switch the 3600 to a 3400g and buy a cheap kit of ram
Have an extra ssd in there already, so that can stay put
Might be better just getting a cheap af ancient gpu 2nd hand
710 or any of the Radeon old cards would do too
Or by then prices will have dropped (hopefully) and low endish cards will be cheap
Like 1650s and such
Not gonna be as cheap as an old radeon/gt card tbh they'll go for like 10-15$
Isn't that rumored DDR5 only unless it's on 600 mobos? And the 600 mobos memory topology... sucks.
Yeah but it'd be nice if whoever I give it to could game on it
Or maybe I'll give it to my grandparents so they stop buying $1000 all in one's every three years
Srsly they should just talk to me
There was a rumour but it doesn't matter because of 600 series, mem top only sucks on the ddr5 boards because of how much more hard it is to run
Ahh fair
My grandma is... not the smartest with money
Lol
Though if I give it to her I'll have her calling me every two seconds because there's an issue with it
So ill be good to go with 13th gen on my board?
I don't wanna upgrade to ddr5 to upgrade to 13th gen.. may as well build a whole new pc at that point.
Ye
I can't wait to get started on this today....
I mean, I assume she'd still have problems with those all in ones
oh she does
it just isnt my problem since i havent had anything to do with them
Bad
P5 or p7 since it has the lil nobs in front.
interesting price lol
i wonder how good pc building simulator is bc I wana design some PCs more focused around the aesthetic side for future reference ||and dopamine||
This 1 is a decent price, but yea tbh quite a bit for just basically a mobo tray & the single glass piece. Gonna diy my case for latest pc since I have a bunch of nice 1/4" own boards & stuff.
lol
idk if its just the white fans but the silver heatsinks on mobo is throwing me off
I look at it
and im like
smth feels imbalanced
there's an awkward amount of black to white here
White ballistix.
yeah that would really fix the build
but
it aint an option bc I managed to get a 3600c14 OC on my ram sticks
Reason: Bad word usage
I feel that, & stock just 3200c16 ? Mine are 3600. I'd like to think I could do similar timings ez* enough.
yeah stock is 3600c16
sorry
3200c16
getting those timings that low was literal death lol
but thankfully there were people willing to help otherwise I would've finished my ram OC today if I had not blindly followed some advice and tried hitting two birds with one stone in my testing
but yeah patience is so important yet so terrifying at the same time as your testing could show an error in the 6th hour of testing leading to additional tweaks and another set of tests
For sure. Yea ggood, forks, fal cie, few others are really good w/ (ram) oc. I figure I'd do flat 16's 1st then do like 15-16-16, & maybe try cL 14 for a min. 500GB sn550 would be a large bench ssd so I want to get a cheap/small one. Ah, I have a 250GB mx300 or mx500 I should use.
-- just busy w/ painting & stuff for a bit.
Spray paint
like... 4000c16?
Timings are loose, but meh
700 trfc
- 4000c16 is good, but nah. 11th gen max on gear 1 is around 3800 I think, & I'd rather do lower cL than try for sub-10% extra bandwidth. (11th gen doesn't gain much with at least 3000ish mhz ram afaik)
Not able to do flat timings on rev e/rev b(ballistix) because of trcd, you'll want b die for that
Something like this is what tuned rev e looks like
Ah I forgot min of 18 trcd or something like that. Oops: --I'm so used to seeing flat timings. I had 800mhz 4-4-4-12 , 1066 at 5-5-5-15, then finally double digits on ddr3 w/ 10-10-10-30 at 1866. 🙃
19 on the 3200 kit with over 3200 too
Here's my sticker. Single rank & unfortunately not the Malaysia stuff, but oh well. It's still sealed 🤣
BallStix
hey all this is my current build with everything i have in it so far
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KRKqbK
these are the upgrades i want to make
https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-Vengeance-3200MHz-PC4-25600-CMW32GX4M2E3200C16/dp/B081XWLQKS
https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-970-EVO-Plus-MZ-V7S1T0B/dp/B07MFZY2F2?th=1
are these parts okay for my build compatibility wise/do you note anything of concern when looking at these upgrades? thanks all!
Finally got the minion for my PC
I would do
https://www.amazon.com/SK-hynix-Gold-PCIe-Internal/dp/B08DKB5LWY/
and
https://www.newegg.com/kingston-32gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820242621
instead

would grab this ssd instead https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Wg2bt6/adata-xpg-gammix-s50-lite-1-tb-m2-2280-nvme-solid-state-drive-agammixs50l-1t-c
nah, that drive is barely gen 4, might as well grab p31 :p
s70 blade for gen 4
innogrit is fun but p31 still neat nand
its am a tier :/
So is P31 lol >:P
but s50 is 10$ cheaper
p31 nicer nand for nicer rnd
I like my rnd
but money
$300 mobo
But money? --> $70 1tb mp33
Indeed but if going higher end
yeah
@fossil cedarThe Lian Li Lancool2 Mesh c RGB arrived today, the Arctic Freezer 2 AIO delayed till Friday
I just popped it open to relocate the three front mounted to two top and one exhaust fan
nice case
I got a skytech liquid cooler 🫶🏼 not a stock!
motherboard is ASRock B660M-C , graphics is EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 i7-12700F
I’ll send picture after I complete my exam
Can you show us the psu as well?
what connecter is needed for this?
Is there a mobo UsB 9 pin to UsB C adapter anywhere?
yeah
This thing? Looks like usb 2.0 to me
to 3.1 gen 2 or directly to just usb-c
damn
gotta buy that then, I assume theres usb 2.0 to sata?
you sure? most mobos have usb 2.0 headers
and yea there should be
Wait nvm I’m too lazy to open it up
But I need a screwdriver 😩

Probs thumbscrews
Is a 650W PSU enough for a 3050, i5-11400f and 16 GBs of RAM?
yes
which 650W PSU
or do you not know yet
Yah is it true you should reinstall windows when u got a new mb?
do you have a secondary drive?
Yea it’s mostly for backups it’s just I haven’t backed my stuff on my main drive in a while
You could just install over your current installation and it'll keep your data
Never really liked that idea, rather just start from scratch
assuming the drive even boots at all with the new system config
Wym?
i assume this is a completely different system, and you didnt just swap out the motherboard, right?
new cpu, ram, etc
Yea
ok
clean install worth it, just make sure to clear all the extra partitions off the ssd during install, and not to wipe out the other drive partitions
I don’t have the other drive plugged in tho
that works too
But yea that’s what I’m going to do
What is the absolute bare minimum pc parts needed for destiny 2
what do you guys think of this ek vertical mount bracket?
it works with air cooled gpus too btw
Is this build good? Do I need to change anything?
It is not good
I haven't slept in two days so I'm going yo sleep, someone else will help you or I will tommorow
But please don't buy most of that
Meaning you do need to change stuff
Most of it needs to be changed
to start, get a better cooler, different ram, cheaper psu of the same quality, better monitor
like ak620
could grab 2x16 3200c16 for around 100$
could grab g6 850w for 105$
monitor wise, are you set on 1080p?
Because I would suggest 1440p if possible
Oh ok, what else should I change? I’m a complete noob at this. Yeah, first time I ever look into PC building
I will change it do you have a recommendation? I don’t want to spend too much
try like this
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FXZVJH6
Is there anything else I need to change besides the cooler, ram, psu and monitor?
Could do better case, SSD, and mobo
Like b660m-a pro
P31 or s70 blade or s50 lite depending on use case
Case could be like p400a td500 mesh 4000d p500a lancool ii mesh etc
Does the case matter that much? I don’t want to spend too much on components that don’t affect gaming performance
then you could just go with mx330-g air
Airflow affects temps but doesn't matter that much for gaming
Alright cool! Why did you recommend 2x16 GB of Ram instead of 2x8 GB?
I thought 16 GB in total was enough?
32GB 3200c16 is $100 and very nice for gaming
I'd just get an mp33 for the ssd, for gaming you really won't notice a huge difference. Either that or the p31
Monitor is up to personal preference
MINIMUM
RECOMMENDED
CPU: Intel
Intel Core i3-3250 3.5 GHz or Intel Pentium G4560 3.5 GHz
Intel Core i5-2400 3.4 GHz or i5 7400 3.5 GHz
CPU: AMD
AMD FX-4350 4.2 GHz
AMD Ryzen R5 ...
So pretty much any midrange computer from the last 10 years
Or a low end one from the last 5
@stoic island @mossy venture Thanks for answers ^^

I've played d2 off a 920m at 1080 at reasonable details
@dapper crypt I'm gonna need you to come over to my place and do a video for my setup. I like the way you did yours.
Omg it wasn’t that good but thank you😭 I edit a lil on da side
I finally got my cable combs got them off amazon for 13.90 for 3 8 pin 24 pin and 2 6 pins
not a bad deal
yes
Ohh
no one in their right mind uses fahrenheit for computer temps
And my fans started spinning max speed
it is under load right?
I mean running Spotify
That's good
turn up sound if fans bother you lol
but nothing is wrong
If you really need a GPU it's a good time
If you can wait a minimum of 4-6 months wait for the next gen
Yeah if you have a GPU that's meeting your needs just wait
No not price
they'll probably need more power cables though
won't be different, will just be more
I dunno, honestly
I'd just get last gen cards when the next gen releases
Ok
One more thing
Should I put all aio fans into a different connectedr
And control them differently than the case fans
your choice
Ok
doesn't really matter unless you want more control over them
There have been rumors they'll use a different power connector but we don't know yet and if there's any change I assume there'll be adapters (likely shipped with cards as with 30 series FE cards)
imo doesn't matter lol
Ok thx guys
24pin power connector for next gen gpus lol
Do you guys know a lot about monitors
ehh
Should I get Samsung odyssey g7
might need #peripherals-and-displays
imo no though, but I would never use it's full capabilities
so that's just me
Rtings has good reviews
K thx
oh yeah true they do
G7 has been out a while I think so it's possible there are better options now but idk
Do you know any
I don't, I'd check out reviews on rtings
I'm also not familiar with the G7 itself. Iirc it was outside of the budget I set for a monitor when I got mine
Hi, is this prebuilt good? https://www.newegg.com/abs-ali583/p/N82E16883360218?Item=N82E16883360218&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-83-360-218-_-06152022
Also, how would you add ram to it?
the ram in it is fine for gaming
Yea but the case is pretty bad, would get this instead
https://www.newegg.com/abs-ali565/p/N82E16883360195?itemPosition=1-12&exactIndex=8
It should only fit in one way so ye
meh, for the parts its fine. with the other one you get the better cpu and 500gb more storage
so for the same price id go for the other one
May explode
Jk
It's fine to touch the CPU (try not to put something like 20 volt through the CPU)
Honestly nowadays, use opera if you want
If you like the themes and interface, go ahead
Yeah I used it onece it was to complicated so I just went back to chrome
Is @south cliff coming to the light side of the force?
Who do you think I am???
tbf vader does flip in the end
That wasn’t me that was off brand Vader
I never switch
Also I have a question do mods get paid?
No
I thought y’all did
Especially since we in Newegg dis
Not really fair imo
Yall should be put in like the tech support category
Nah it's fine, admins keep the mods in line and we volunteer some time to keep you guys in line
Plus then you'd have people with "discord admin" on resumes and that's not a timeline I want to be in
They do their jobs, don't worry. It's just mostly behind the scenes.

I see
Also don’t tell anyone your best mod
You all don't put that on your resumes?
Nah, maybe top 5 but I'm not perfect. Forks is much more experienced and gives useful suggestions to admins. He's top of my list.
Only as a meme
That's fair. I'm pretty patient usually. And I'm often the first mod and/or techie people interact with.
Yup
It's a toss up between Fal'Cie and Pato.
For me anyways.
They both help me immensely in different aspects of the PC world.
Does anyone know if psu cable is included when you buy separate parts and build a pc?
psus come with all the cables you need
psus come with the psu cables, more specifically, no other component will come with them
Even the ones you need to connect to the case and plug into the wall?
Ohh I see.
the psu will come with that cable
i would give an extra foot just incase you have to move it somewhere
and its not long enough
I can't find the right L shaped micro-usb adapter on amazon lol
they are all 90 degree. I need a 270 degree
I didn't see any 180 either
I would like a 180 tbh
Its just to make my sensor panel look uniform.
😳

Why is this build chat? lol but yes, that's adorable.
idk
wdym adorable
It's ZE ONE.
its the pinical of all races
Indeed, human. 😛
hi
hello
hi
ok
but it aint loading
yeah that's strange
is it to big?
i doubt it
yeah your phone bugging

i would say you should just get windows 10 home
wiatitiitit
okay
woat
?
pro isnt worth it
why
what will happen if i pick pro
it is better, but the extra features will almost certainly not get used
it's like $50 more isnt it
yea
yes
no
huh
well, no but yes
not for pro
what
just pick it
technically you can use windows for free
you will just have a watermark if you dont pay
nah im jk
lmao
show me
custom or upgrade
send pic
custom
ok
yeah custom
since it's a new system
next
installing windows
