but always good to have extra
prices will be very different by then
i shoudve gotten something better for my birthday
i would recommend checking back with us by then
i got a oculus
coudve gotten sum more better like a pc
whats ur pc build
im kinda intrested
3060 ti 3600
did u somehow pay for that urself
yes
or if u have a job
oh daym
i wish i had a job
when im like 16 ima work with my dad
then get a super good pc build
Next gen stuff will be out by the holidays so prices will be completely different
so
what would i need
for a whole setup
like monitor cables and
just to have a pc and a monitor working playing roblox
Roblox doesn't need a lot of power, you could probably get away with a next gen iGPU build. Then you have the option of upgrading with a GPU later.
Monitors usually come with cables, and I'd estimate around $800 including everything, basic keyboard, mouse, monitor with speakers.
I need with what motherboard and GPU to finish my parts list. I was recommended the z690, is that still good for what I have? https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Migweegwee/saved/vMY2xr
That list is set to private
oops
does it work now?
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400, Phanteks Eclipse P300A Mesh ATX Mid Tower
You don't need a Z690 since you're not getting a K sku processor, a good B660 like this is perfect https://pcpartpicker.com/product/FsfnTW/msi-pro-b660-a-ddr4-atx-lga1700-motherboard-pro-b660-a-ddr4
List looks good otherwise
Still missing a GPU, the gigabyte 1660 is fine or something else? my budget is 1,400 but i can stretch to 1,600 max
already got the 2T storage and ram from a birthday
You can do a 3060 in that budget easily
Did you have the power supply already? You can go cheaper to save a bit
Gray label?
in the art of it?
That would be good enough for this build tbh
Yeah that's the 2017 model, gray label
I can use this one for the build then
Yep should be fine. It's a C tier unit but that's acceptable for low-mid range builds.
I can always get the bigger one in the event I upgrade
Yep that's always an option
It shouldn't interfere with performance?
Nah
Awesome
And I looked at the motherboard, I'll need a wifi card if I don't attach it to the tower? I have a family computer hooked to it
is it worth using the p400a case instead if I plan to expand on it in the future?
Would a 3080 fit in a phanteks p300 case?
sure
You can do this one instead if you need wifi https://pcpartpicker.com/product/YZPQzy/gigabyte-b660-gaming-x-ax-ddr4-atx-lga1700-motherboard-b660-gaming-x-ax-ddr4
depends on the model
P300A fits a GPU up to 355mm long, which is roughly 3070 class or some smaller 3080s
whats the difference between the 2060's that say MSI gaming, Ventus, and EVGA
mainly cooling
3060
6600 a better buy rn
So for a current day High End PC how much about would I want to save up to get a Mid - High End PC?
The Gaming ones are factory overclocked and have better coolers, Ventus are cheap AF and barely cool the GPU enough
can do anything from 900 to 1.8k realistically
And above 1.8k would be like a really High End PC? If they have the right parts I mean
above 1.8k would be wasting money
Really? Do you have some in mind mate?
ye on sec
PC Builder - Intel Core i7-12700KF, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower
i guess 2k
but thats with the extra tb of ssd storage
Question then, why would it be a waste to get say an i9 or whatever Ryzen has? I am just wondering for knowledge
currently intel is better perf than amd. For gaming, 12700k is near identical to 12900k
just extra heat
5800x3d is plausible, but same thing
more expensive for not much gain
So with the build you showed me should it work well with streaming and playing games?
ye
Sweet thanks for the help mate
np
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/wD8bt6/msi-geforce-rtx-3060-12-gb-gaming-x-video-card-rtx-3060-gaming-x12g the Gaming one should be good then yeah
nooo
or 6650xt for $400
or a diff 3060 for $400
Why is Liquid Cooling better then Air?
it just is
Definitely worth going a tier higher if you're looking at that price
Liquids conduct heat better than metals
Reason: Bad word usage
woops
the 8gb gaming cost more because the cooling?
it costs more because its a better card
vram doesnt equal performance
mk
gotcha
I also have these if these are better than the fans in the case
I can always get full rub fans another time
@mossy venture One more question if you don't mind, does it really matter what case I get for it? Or...???
So if the case that I wanna get has pretty much what you said should it be ok for me to get?
link it
And don't ask me what I had in mind it was just a general question, just in case I wanted to get a different case
xD
But I can go search for you if you don't mind me dm'ing it to you
*one
not at all
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P300A Mesh ATX Mid Tower
this is everything together, excluding what I own its roughly around 1,375sum
@mossy venture i know you are fairly knowledgeable about this stuff, I am thinking of changing over to a itx build and wanted to know what you thought this pc would sell for? This would be most of the components from my old pc plus a new cpu and gpu https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZjdR4s
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-10400F, GeForce RTX 3060, Corsair iCUE 220T RGB Airflow ATX Mid Tower
I'll buy it for what pcpp priced it up as, even throw another 100 on top
hmm idk lol
how did you switch those prices to zero on the ones you owned?
click on the gear, click on manual price which by default is 0
mk
taking a random shot in the dark, a bit over 1k
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P300A Mesh ATX Mid Tower
id get the p360a for just a bit more
lemme look at it
oo okay then
I am in a great range on my budget I think this is it
also id go for the msi b660a personally, but its personal preference
They wanted wifi
mag mortar
yeah but the 660 had wireless so i chose that one, I have a family computer on the tower
it do be portable
ill note it for later builds, if and when I upgrade ill make the old parts into a PC for a relative
ahh kk
oh also id go for the 12400f since its $25 cheaper
tho if you want the igpu its fine
is there a difference or just a preference thing? im not fullyt educated on all the after letters and numbers
same exact perf, just no igpu on the 12400f
I think ill just keep the igpu to have it i dont mind. Im in budget by 200sum so im pretty comfortable
But yeah! Thank you very much you guys. I had been wanting Build a PC and not just buy a 'gaming or 'costco one for a while, the pandemic gave me time to learn more about what's in a computer, and I feel confident in knowing that It was made by me, with help, and that I know whats in it
older brother bought a prebuild the WEEK the pandemic was about to happen, and i was jealous. but its all good now
Maybe 850
@analog pulsar hey didn't want to blow up pet chat. How are your temps in that case. I used to have that case but swapped because of really high temps
Ended up getting the O11 dynamic.
ig it depends on cooler but vetter chances getting N7
I didn't get an aio until after I swapped cases so maybe that was the culprit. Not sure lol
what is that, a p400a?
Can I run x2 16gb 3200MHz ddr4 on a ddr4 supported 2666MHz motherboard? And if so should i just buy ram with less than 3200MHz then

Depends on your exact mobo and cpu
i’ll run a scan when i get home so i know what i have
what motherboard?
What's the best gaming laptop under 200
under 200?
probably some 10 year old used laptop on facebook marketplace
I sold a 5 year old low end gaming laptop for $550
damn
you would get a lot more value out of a desktop than a laptop at 200
is this good https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3Cjgnt
PC Builder - Intel Core i7-12700K, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Corsair 5000D AIRFLOW ATX Mid Tower
what about a desktop under 300
youll also have to look used/used parts

PC Builder - Intel Core i7-12700KF, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Corsair 5000D AIRFLOW ATX Mid Tower
although you can go ek aio its just too expensive imo
on new egg its for $138
so should i get that then?
ohh is it?
yes
ahh yeah if its only 138 go EK rgb
np
@fossil cedar one more thing this is my first build so what parts should i get a warranty for
none they like all normal things come with a warranty
extended warranties are a scam
*usually a scam
It can be worth it if you buy a TV or phone, especially one of unknown quality, but that's about it
Those things tend to be hit with the "planned obsolescence" scam where they die right when the warranty ends
Ok thanks man
Uhh Moira? What cpu is in it?
i have a computer that will turn on post and then cash after it lets me enter bios
does anyone know how to fix that or diagnose it
Clear CMOS to start
how do i do that
Unplug computer, remove the flat silver battery from the motherboard, hold power button 10 seconds, wait 5 minutes, put the battery back and plug in again
alright
hp has weird names for their motherboards lol
i guess now i get to see if the power button i made works the same
Do they also have a Reinhardt and Lucio motherboard?
Lmao
jasmine new overwatch hero confirmed
Kek
abilities:
vrm throttle
2666mhz ram
pathetic i/o
have am4 socket but somehow only support ryzen 1000
needs nerf tbh
Sounds OP yeag
what do i do with server ram and a server psu?
Server ram most of the time can just be used as normal slow ram
server psu, more annoying, if you really want to use it, will prob need breakout board
?
quad channel memory depends on the CPU not the ram
ecc doesn't really matter for consumers
it wont work at all no matter what
and its ddr3
DDR3 can still be good on a quad channel xeon
But for general use, you're better off selling those
my cpu is AMD Ryzen 7 2700 8 core, 3200 Mhz, My mother board is HP 84FE
all the info of them is better than my current ram but it will not go it blinks dram
its 32gb of 1333 ddr3 ram
i'm using 16 gb of like 800 ddr3 ram
What CPU and motherboard
The motherboard chipset is the most important part
its a asus
You can find out what it is using cpu-z, the mainboard tab
I'd probably go with a 2933 jedec kit
If you can
i posted the picture
all the information says it should work
Yeah everything I see says it should work too. Phenom even supports ECC on the memory controller.
But that'll depend on the motherboard too
I'd probably go with this kit then
https://www.newegg.com/mushkin-enhanced-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820226917?itemPosition=1-6&exactIndex=0
I meant im getting 32gb
like my motherboard just doesn't
Oh lemme look
That is some generic looking memory
Also if your board has 4 dimm slots them buy that times 2
That wouldn't be so bad on a jedec kit like that at least, since speed/latency aren't the goal. Best practice is still 2 sticks, so you can upgrade later.
Can zen+ imc handle 3200 with no issues fal btw?
The motherboard doesn't seem to support ANY Samsung memory at all, even ones just using samsung dies
Yes, I ran 3200 straight 14s on my 2700
That's what I used getting all my hwbot 🏆
Fair enough just thought it required tweaking
Nope, didn't even need that much SoC voltage. Auto for most settings is fine, but I tuned it of course.
This is on a more recent agesa version of course
Cool cool
I think I had 1.2.0.5? So the latest will do
Those timings though
alright thank you a lot
Np
Yeah knew it had to be a jedec kit just wondering if it could do 3200
This is the same price though with tighter timings https://www.newegg.com/team-32gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820331617?quicklink=true
Ahh truee
They can't
Hp mobo = no xmp
You can you just don't do it from the bios
Ryzen master
Nope
It's not preferable but it should work
Afaik still doesn't allow
Ye
but it depends on the board
Cause chipset itself supports it
like xtu, it works in theory but in practice is different
hp 84fe
That is what someone said their board is
which has a R7 2700
Fal, done typing your 5 paragraph essay?
Huh, apparently that does work using RM to bypass it. But Intel is still locked so no XTU for similar exploit.
It's this new keyaboard, I'm still getting used to it
What switches?
I trying to get used to my new clicky keyboard lol
Oh the one with the bundle?
mine is z15
Yeah
What's your first impressions?
sadly
ryzen master isnt good, xtu isnt much better. would be nice if intel started unlocking chipsets and cpus more
Yeah
It's not bad, much more sensitive than my old one and keys are spaced out a bit more. RGB is nice, I don't need per key illumination.
Ryzen master ofc isn't preferable but should work
Neat
From a video i just watched it does work but you have to use an older version
Here it is guys, the promised updated tutorial for using Intel XTU with HP Omen 30L

Is there anyway to XMP on an intel chipset with an OEM board that doesn’t allow it?
It’s a Lenovo Z490 I think
It should it's z490 that's 🙃
Lenovo doesn’t allow XMP by default
Best ram I can run in it is 3200CL22
Everything else about Lenovo prebuilts is great, the ram tho
Bios mod time?
Looks like you can try using the old XTU version same as the HP trick, but it might just crash the PC completely
Yo I’m building my computer I’m putting on the CPU cooler but I think I need an adapter for the CPU fan
I can’t post pic in this chat
DM it to me
What CPU and cooler btw?
Or if he is new to PC building and using Ryzen could be unaware that you have to remove the 2 things inside first
lol
Unscrew the black clips
You need to take off the plastic AMD bracket from the motherboard
Ya just have to unscrew the 2 bracket things inside to install it
@drowsy sail
Tbh the MB manual would even show that
I wonder why amd mobos including them lol
Because some default coolers still use them
I mean cooler manifacturers can make bracket for themself lol
AMD coolers always used them
Also these cheap coolers https://www.newegg.com/cooler-master-rr-t20-20fk-r1-hyper-t20/p/N82E16835103325
Funny thing is if you look at the .ca version of the site it is the same price lol
@ornate condor put this on your Ryzen 5 lol https://www.amazon.com/Wraith-Cooler-Processor-AM4-Connector/dp/B07GKRR5WR/

better than the stealth/spire and has RGB still
I had the prism too, wasn't too bad on my 2700
stock coolers sux

Well that one doesn't
Well yes, typically they barely get you below the throttle point in a decent airflow case. Every penny counts when you're shipping 500k units.
The prism actually wasn’t bad on my 3700x
But imagine how much better the prism would be on a Ryzen 3/5
Half want to try it out as a joke on my 5900x
I remember I used 3600 with stock cooler and I only able to remove cpu from heatsink with screwdriver lmao
it was like glued to heatsink
thats just the thermal paste
Surprisingly I never had the problem of my CPU getting stuck
It is like that with pretty much any cooler with AM4
I liked thing that am5 finally having lga locking mechanism
You mean how they are now following in Intel's footsteps

I gonna miss days that cpu comes off with heatsink lmao
I've pulled my 2700 out of its socket twice lol
I even tried twisting and it just twisted the pins lol
You could of went with a threadripper and the CPU wouldn't come out of the socket when pulling out the cooler lol
actually I had that issue only with amd stock coolers . twisting works on other coolers lol
maybe its because stock coolers have crappy thermal paste
For that trick to work you have to stress the CPU for like 20 min turn off the system and then do it right away while it is hot
I did ☠️
Or the other method was using a hair dryer before removing it
Which that is what i did with the R5 2600
Luckily the CPU survived and I just carefully straightened the pins
I just ripped off one pin from 3600 when I try to remove it lol luckily I have repairman friend that soldered it back lol
First time i did the whole CPU coming out of the socket was with a R5 2400G
I have a bad current sensor now though, so it throttles if I don't manually OC
Another thing, looked through my motherboard manual, only has 3 fan headers plus cpu fan, are there any unused pins that could be used as fan headers
fan packs usually including splitter cable
That sometimes tends to be with cheap fans
usually fans connecting to controller and theres only one cable connecting between controller and mobo
You can get splitters and use 4 fans per header safely that way
Alright if the airflow is too low I’ll look into it
Would you say this is the best arrangement of fans for airflow insert pic I sent fal
No slots for case floor fans just top front and one back
Yep looks optimal for a 3 fan setup
Alright appreciate it
I would suggest thing for multiple fans and yes does work with other fans https://www.amazon.com/DeepCool-Control-Supports-Cooling-FH-04/dp/B07LGWHHXV
DeepCool Fan FH-04 Hub control 4PWM fan speed supports fan with 3pin/4pin. FH-04 enables users to greatly expand cooling capability within the chassis and enjoy enhanced system performance. FH-04 is able to extend up to 4 fans and compatible with 3-pin/4-pin fans. Each port has its own PWM functi...
tbh i would use that more than fan splitters just cause that would make it look cleaner
rate tis build
a friend only wanted to use memory express smh
Im in pain
also curse the 212 smh
I’d personally switch to an amd motherboard and go with a 210$(on eBay) 5600x
yeah no we did an AMD build already but the 12400f has such great value
also again sticking to one store lol (Memory Express is Canadian)
Why not pc part picker? Also looks like bad choices
Why only stick with 1 shop?
YEAH THATS WHAT I TOLD HIM
Memory express has g.skill ripjaws 3200 for $22 cheaper at that store. Much better kit to pick especially with no guarantee for xmp beyond 3200 with locked SA on b660
So stubborn
Ikr
Okay basically $1700CAD build
1440p build
I’ve made a few pcpp lists in the past
They're just waiting money only going 1 shop
Ikr
The limitations of choosing a single store
Hmu with a pcpp
I’m too tired at this point
i was ranting so hard when i was seeing this lol

Isn't steel legend a mid range board?
For the front panel, it doesn't matter for the power and reset buttons. All the button does is bridge the power and ground.
The LEDs matter though, and should be marked + and -
overkill for a 12400
It's 150 tho
oh wasnt showing up
i only know from US
pretty much similar ideas though
it ships from the UK
all about min-maxing specs atm
Yeah pretty much
really helpful thanks, was worried id short something if I got it wrong

Brand speaks for nothing

Corsair Vengeance Pro or Trident Z for ram
corsair bottom tier

corsair makes terrible ram.
gskill it is then
I wouldn't shell out for g skill either
then what is a good RGB ram
What capacity where you looking at and what country?
4 x 8gig sticks and US
You don't want 4x8gb it puts unnecessary stress on the memory and motherboard and cpu and can limit speed
2x16gb would be a better choice
then why pay for 4 ram slots
For 64gb/128gb / upgrading from 16gb(2x8gb) to 32gb etc
well anyway what brand should I go for then
no its just that it is one of the top rated memory that is on Pcpartpicker
not what i meant but aight

Also options
I like white
would those be ocable to 4000c18? maybe a bit higher?
Having an issue can someone post a pic for me
have to level up to be able to post pictures
Can I send my pic to you
Is it too big to fit in the case you think insert pic
you need a bigger case or a smaller gpu
I’m going to try pulling out the lower front fan to see if it will fit
thats not the issue
the case is physically not big enough
if you try to force it to fit you will break it
@drowsy sail
Yeah it looks like it won’t fit, it could technically fit after removing the fan but it’s almost like the motherboards in the way
I’ll send pic post to this channel
you need a new case or a smaller gpu
Shoot I think the issue is the card was bent in transit
Nope 3600c18 would be the max
no, it is just too big for the case
it is near impossible to bend a gpu
especially in all of that packaging
theyre talking about the uhh
backplate
no its just a big card in a small case
The backplate was actually bent
Any recommendations for a prebuilt PC around 1200? Preferably an Nvidia GPU and a intel CPU.
are you in the US?
yes
sounds like a meme marketing tactic
I don't think it's a big difference
The larger one is cheaper, I think, because of the fast IPS
get the gigabyte m27q or g27q
or m32q
i will see
Rapid IPS basically is a thinner layer of liquid crystal running at a higher voltage. We still need independent testing but they claim something like 0.2ms response.
What’s a cheap case that has two sides of glass and I can put my gpu vertical(3080)
Very few cases have both sides glass, and even less are cheap
if you are vert mounting a gpu, you probs will be able to afford a decent case imo
having both sides glass looks really weird imo
Yeah, it can be.
The Torrent has both sides glass but it's definitely not cheap and not good for vertical mounting.
I'd imagine they mean side and front panel but yeah if youre vert mounting a 3080 you have money for a decent case
Oh god
At least the corsair 4000x/5000x
That way there's a bit of a gap to let air in
Those aren't cheap though
Lian LI lancool II mesh might be a fit
H510 is because no one in their right mind would use it
If they want a glass front panel the o11 I suppose, but it is far from cheap
Better than a fire hazard xD h510 isn't even deep enough to reliably vert mount
Lancool II Mesh has both sides glass and is decent for vert mount GPU
Guys, what is the best possible deal for a 1TB M.2 right now
PCIe 3.0 or 4.0?
If you can use a PCIe 4.0 drive, do so.
4.0 it is
Do you have support for it?
How can we tell
WHat CPU do you actually have? lol
Nope, you're limited to PCIe 3.0
alrighty
So no point in the extra for a 4.0 drive

That would be my personal recommendation. There are cheaper available if you hunt around..
this is the pc I'm getting
ram upgrade recommendations for ~$100?
32 Gigs if feasible?
no rgb, no fancy stuff, just pure performance
RAM isn't exactly my department, but I'd just recommend a good kit of GSkill Trident etc.
yeah gskill seems to be the ultimate sweetspot
Another vote for the P31, and if you can't easily get ballistix then yea G.skill is overall pretty solid. Ballistix is EOL but doesn't hurt to get it. Plenty of stock around and if ram isn't doa then it's usually good for a long time.
Should I buy this used 6700xt for 420 467 after shipping and taxes?
Or should I wait and see if I can get 3070
Well nvm I just got it
Ez clap
Not bad at all
Comes with oh box and all
Mp33 and p31 are good choices
Just depends on how much you want to spend
Yep all about budget. "Save $20", or get pretty much the best gen 3 drive.
New pfp for Baka?
Hello
I'll come here for help
no
Yes
Oh
thank you

Idk I tried
So I can daisy chain them and just use 1 header
Also logo is that instake
Yes
Okay good
Nice
Which one
Xfx speedster swift 309
That first fan is intake, flip it
uve somehow done back intake top exaust
flip the back fan to exaust
and put fans exactly like how the back fan is placed rn, only at the front
for intake
Okay
Is the model of my 6700xt good?
yeah
did u check out jawa for a 6700xt
@quaint granite I feel like you are in PST.. west coast.
Oooo I can't wait to get home today and put my build in my white case <3333
Hey all got a question if y’all could link me to a somewhat budget friendly gaming pc (under 700$). The only things I really do is play WoW, surf the web, and do a little recording of games. Thanks for the help
wait my bad it's this one: https://global.deepcool.com/products/Cases/fulltowercases/CK560-Mid-Tower-ATX-Case-Airflow/2021/14924.shtml
The DeepCool CK560 Mid-Tower Case offers a streamlined PC building experience with great compatibility and high-airflow performance thanks to four powerful pre-installed fans and ample ventilation throughout the chassis. - DEEPCOOL is dedicated to provide the best Laptop Cooler,CPU coolers, Computer Chassis and PC Power Supply.
A prebuilt? What country are you in?
Yes if possible and in the US
Would you be willing to build it yourself?
If you can, you could do this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zjhCwc
PC Builder - Intel Core i3-12100F, Radeon RX 6600, Cougar MX330-G ATX Mid Tower
Never built one but I’d be willing to try
Which is better than any pre built you'd get for around that budget
Patos taking a look at pre builts rn atm
So can wait to see what he says
Thank you both for helping
Under 1k is a difficult point for pre builts
Since most of them have old cpus or gpus, and are much less worth it compared to the $950-1k point
The list baka sent is way better but the only prebuilt I'd recommend under 700 (also open box) would be this, and replace the ram with this ram kit
https://www.newegg.com/abs-ali450-challenger/p/N82E16883360034R
I second that ^^
Good find on the build
If it were me I'd still do the custom, but I get not wanting to build. Two years ago I was in the same place
I appreciate you both. If I was to go with the prebuilt is it easy to swap out the RAM?
Very easy, two things have to be flicked, pull the ram out, and then push the new ram in
Requires a bit of force, but nothing crazy
I switched ram in my old pc without having known anything about pcs, so it shouldn't be an issue
Don’t have to download anything to update it or anything like that?
Nope
Well, have to turn something on in bios, but it would have to be turned on either way
Since the ram will run at a lower speed without doing so, limiting performance
Oh wait
Maybe not, I dont think 10100 supports xmp
Yeah nvm it doesn't on that motherboard
Ignore what I said, you just have to put it in and you're good
Sweet! I appreciate both of y’all’s help so much! @mossy venture @fossil cedar
Happy to
Nope no need to even touch the bios, but the one baka put together is a lot better @hasty socket
Np
@fossil cedar does fans go on inside out outside inside the mesh panel
You nolifed this server until Legend rank and you don't know how to build?
Not dogging you.. just curious.
kenzie doesnt know how to do much tbh

@frigid night one thing from seeing stuff and another for the experience
Plus I never seen/built in this case before
Plus idk if it's better to have fans on inside or outside
I honestly thought that you've built a few pc already
What case is this?
Cougar MX331 MESH
Inside mesh panel
Okay
Talking about front right?
Yea
Huhh??
@frigid night
Rawr, is clc 360 better than lf2 280?
Fal picked it out its nice
I can replace the fans in the clc with p12s that I already own
Think so yeah. Not 100% sure tho. CLC is not asetek design afaik
What does asetek design mean?
And afaik the only differences are a slightly thinner rad and the fans aren't as good
wait it is asetek
Hm. I think you'll be just fine.
Clc 360 is $82 rn and lf2 280 is 110
There is more airflow going through those holes than if you had a rad there
lf will be better
Yea
Kinda want to pick it up now in case sale ends
asetek is the oem that designs a general aio structure that almost all aios use
Ahh
ud have to look it up i dont remember off the top of my head
Kk thanks
p400a doesnt support aio at all on the top tho
This is not a dating site, but damn that voice. 😍
only fron
Oh wait I don't think the p360a supports a 360mm at all
Clc 280 it is, $50 less than the lf2
My voice is so raspy I just woke up
Bro theres no way im watching a 1 min video of ur fan config
send 3 pics instead
Lol
one of the front, one of the top and one of the back
I knowww
Oh wait its not a dating site?! @fossil cedar we have been doing it wrongggg
Airflow
ok now tell me this
Switch your top to exhaust. And maybe only 1 up there.
you have 4 fans blowing in
and 1 blowing out
how is air flowing out of the case for new air to flow in
I second what neo said, top should be exhaust
Yea it's positive pressure setup
if u want positive pressure, remove rear fan
Theyre just pushing hot air back at the gpu and cpu
its not gonna work great anyway tho
just run front intake top exaust
nothing in the rear
there you have positive airflow
Run everything in the rear..
o-oh
Oof. I'm tired and still at work. I gotta get off here.
@analog pulsar do what rawr says with the front intake/top exhaust/no rear. That'll give you good airflow. If you have to much intake and not enough exhaust.. all that air has nowhere to go
whats a raqr
Well fatctal torrent has 6 intake and 1 exhaust it's case on gamer nexus youtube
Your evil twin
You. You're raqr
I AM RISEN
A risen raqr
Ok
last i checked you arent building in the fractal torrent
So why can't my case work same
Not the same design so the airflow will be different
optimal airflow for each case is different
I mean though.. Raqr is the kind of person to only put 1 fan in front and one in back and call it a day.

All = 1
I have 3 intake and 2 exaust in my build rn
I am lazy but im not that lazy
Having said that tho
Woww, more intakes than exhausts, what a nerd
if I ever get a better case like the meshify c ive been looking at, I will run only 3 fans as intake because i cant be bothered
Yea ik that too but also people said you don't want more intake then exhaust and if we do that I'll have 2/3
When I get home I'm gonna be mounting 13 fans LOL
read my messages pls thanks
Yea but I don't wanna remove it bc it's gunna look weird
How are you gonna tell that to a gay man?
AYO
I only jest because I was raised by a gay uncle lol
ok
then dont
run 3 exaust 2 intake
Can put a fan there, but not plug it in
still a lot better than 1 exaust 4 intake
Or run it at lowest you can so it looks good, but isn't impeding airflow as much..
Okay
If you have more intake than exhaust (positive pressure setup) that air is gonna find a way out of the case
Positive pressure > negative pressure imo
I would do front intake, top exhaust, rear exhaust
Yes, but if there is wayyy more intake then its gonna have a harder time pushing that air through.
If they are on an air cooler I would leave the top fan slot in front of the air cooler empty OR make it intake. If it is set up for exhaust it just steals cool air from the air cooler. Doesn't matter for an aio
See my note re: the fan slot on top in front of an air cooler
That one should never be exhaust (I guess it could be exhaust if they do intake rear or something actually, but that's rarely the way to go)
I'd recommend fully populating the front spots for intake, rear exhaust, rear top exhaust, and front top either empty or intake. Should be optimal for your setup assuming you've got an air cooler on your cpu
I think I'm done now I slap back panel and never talk about whats behind it
Flip that front fan up top. You're just taking air in the front and shooting it out the top there, so that's counter productive
It's never making it to your components for the most part
Top fans are supposed to be exhaust
The top fan there is just taking air out that was just tossed in by the front fan. It likely actually makes things worse
Heat rises, having top as intake would be pushing hot air back at the cpu and gpu
Though tbf it's a 12100f 3050 build, Temps won't be an issue
The fans are going to overcome that property and if you think about the airflow pattern you're better off with no fan there or intake
ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
not really
They're pushing air in the front and some of it is being pushed back out before it even gets to run over the components
This has been tested
Das a lot of h's
it was a long eh
see man the thing is cpu isnt the only component in the pc
sure rear intake front exaust is ideal for the cpu
No, but that airflow is literally just superfluous
but thats no airflow to the gpu
I never recommended rear intake
@rich void
front intake top and rear exaust is the best on average
I said front intake, front top empty/intake, rear top exhaust, rear exhaust
That's what I'm saying, but others are saying front top should be exhaust because ????
I am NOT flipping my fans again its staying 2 intake and 3 exhaust
thats what i said too
also the fans dont create a vaccum
That front top fan is at best unnecessary here
If you flip that one fan it'll be optimal. Everything else should be g2g
Well case can support 5 fans I put all five in
sure a lil bit of air is lost
but getting more hot air out > keeping some cold air in
sock cooler doesnt exaust only from the rear and top
exausts in a circle
I'm not saying it won't work, but people saying top must be exhaust and that all top exhaust is better are mistaken
Yessir
If you have a fan in front of the cooler up top it's better to have that on intake
.
in general in a case with decent airflow,
Except that's the wrong comparison
The comparison is:
Getting more hot air out vs. getting more cool air in and running more cool air over components
Crap
You can have all the airflow in the world, but if it's not going over your heatsinks/rads/components it doesn't matter
its not running over any additional components tho?
I was ghost pinged in here
and its not like the top fan creates a vaccum that sucks all the air out?
Yeah it is. Cause the air from the front isn't just getting pulled out
Ugh waste of my vacation ur right go away now
It's not sucking it all out, but it is pulling cool air from the front fan out which is not helpful
@fossil cedar you don't want to weigh in on the great case airflow controversy? 😆
I'm gunna stress test computer and see if I get high temps if I don't then we good @rich void okay
We're good either way. I bet your temps will be acceptable as is. If you want to lower em you can flip that one fan. I hope you enjoy your new rig
Haven't read but I'd trust whatever rawr was saying
3 exaust 2 intake is ideal for what u have going
All done only took me 6 HOURS
Better to take it slow and do it methodically than rush it and mess something up.
Looks good!
Owo
Why oof
Cause they're not suggesting the best airflow setup
@fossil cedar like pc
What is rawr suggesting?
Looks good
2 front in and 3 top and rear out
is better for a case with good airflow
Case is mesh so air going in won't be an issue
He insists you need an intake on the top so it doesnt suck all the air thats going in
lol
No. I said top-front empty or intake
Darn it whyyyyyyyy
sure thats true in a case like what i have ill agree with you there
but with a case with good airflow, nah
Can the front fit 3?
I've never seen any testing that shows any improvement from front-top exhaust
Any testing I've seen anyone do has shown that it makes things worse
@fossil cedar
The tests haven't been perfect unfortunately, would love to see a more scientific review of it
Intake at the top closest to the front isn't a terrible idea as exhaust does take out clean air but I'd just to 2 front , 1 rear, 1 top closest to rear
Look at the case in question
fan up topblows on all components
and also stock cooler so cooler airflow isnt directed
Maybe not top by the front but top by the rear carries out hot air from the cpu anyway
It's a good bit in front of the CPU cooler
https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/589689072692494356/984800876562620466/20220610_084612.jpg
Ik the case, I'd only use 4 fans instead of 5, if there where 5 i guess I'd just run it in exhaust at lower rpm than the rest
Yeah top rear should just about always be exhaust (roof-front and roof-rear might be clearer terms actually)
Wrong thing
yeah id personally run 2 intake one exaust and call it good
top completely empty
I'd run top by rear in exhaust and leave top front
I think 2/2 might be best here. Rear+roof/rear exhaust, front intake
Gpu very close to front and for matter if sake this pc isn't gunna have high end specs so they won't be running high wattage or stuff
rear exaust better tbh imo
top empty
3080 will run hot yes but it's gunna be changed out for a 3050
No need to not have rear top and rear
huh\
Only reason I'm build this is I need to build 3 pcs or 2 pcs anyway so I started on kids build and I'm gunna use this for the mean time until I get enough money for my other pc
But this pc is more modern so I'm running at least pcie 4.0
And ddr4 at least
They've got 4+ fans so no reason not to mount one in the rear and one in rear-roof
ok but
front top without fan would be aight but exaust wouldnt be too far off
out of the 3 pcs ive built, only 1 has all fans spots full
Guys should I download app center
im very lazy
From gigabyte
and i cannot be asked
no need
Is this and this compatable, I would assume so but just checking
i never really use it
Oh btw pato do u work today?
I mean if you have the extra fan you should run top -rear exhaust as well as rear exhaust
yeah but im saying if i had to do it and i didnt have fans, id just put 2 front intake one rear exaust
Which one do I do again
Yes you can?
@frank stirrup btw thanks for help 😁
Yes but you shouldn't buy either
Ye
I can be asked but ill jus ignor
Yeah but they do
Well I have the mobo so to late, but the ssd is $89 at micro center
Not good for the price
So is there another internal ssd that is the same as that price and capacity that's better
Mp33 1tb
fr tho pato u working today?
Well you can get same perf for like 73$ or you can get a faster ssd that you probably won't notice
Or p31 for $93
@frank stirrup
my bad
What is it?
Like baka said ^
Smh
Ok

One of those
From "worst" to best
What's bad about the first one on your list?
It isn't bad, just technichally slower than the other two. Imo nothing you'll notice
Maybe half a second boot time and game loading time
^
Not even tbh
mm
Yeah that doesn't really bother me, so what are some good 2tb ones that are in the 100-150 range if there is any?
I may get that to replace my 2tb hd
@fossil cedar what is PL1 and PL2 bc it says PL1 is 125W and PL2 is 241W does that mean cpu can go to 240 watts
@mossy venture I think 16GB isn't enough I'm using 6GB rn on idle 💀
debloat time
and 16gb is fine considering its for a kid
they wont be doing anything intensive
No there's nothing installed
windows comes with bloatware
Um.....👀
I used different windows
Idk if I'm allowed to say here
Spectre am I allowed to say this

no I got it off eBay
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/sVnWTJ Anyway I could lower the price? Trying to get a useful cooler in with a budget of 310-ish
you don't need a cooler
the cpu already comes with one
and it's alright for it
I got you, one sec
Ik it comes with a cooler, question is if it’s good enough

Toshiba
