what
Unbelievable
Ur
nvm
@little osprey 510elite isnt that big
not really
airflow isnt very good and its expensive
for being a normal sized atx case
k
Nah about mid range for size
$94
k
@desert gulch is the lancool 215 good
its mesh front so
for higher power parts would you suggest or nah
Yeah its good you can always add in rgb fans if you wanted
you're in us right
they're ok but there is only 2 i think
your budget has plenty of room for new fans
no its the same
and you can get it for like $20 or less on ebay or other key sites, dont get it for $100 or whatever
uhh im browsing parts ill let you know when i need input
yes your computer will have that
ok quick thing graphics cards dont usually come in white and the white ones are really frickin expensive so you're gonna have to go with a darker colored one
black/grey etc
@desert gulch sry to ping again but do you know good 6900xt models
was thinking of adding this https://pcpartpicker.com/product/9QPQzy/sapphire-radeon-rx-6900-xt-16-gb-nitro-se-video-card-11308-03-20g but i have no idea if its good or not
its the graphics card
basically does the graphics processing for your games and stuff and outputs it to your monitor
idk im asking for confirmation from someone else because i am not familiar with that specific model
hence why we are talking here so others can see the decisions being made
Just send the list you have now
not entirely done yet 1sec
Really hope I won’t be losing brain cells from it
too late
Wait a minute
chocolate thermal paste
yes pls be patient i understand you want it before your birthday but pc building isnt just 5 minutes of discussion
lotta thought should go into it
Don’t worry tho, you’re in good hands
ye
what would this = to in NVidia GeForce
3090
Beats out a 3090 slightly in raw performance
And you would’ve been an idiot if you had
wow how lucky
First good thing to come out of Roblox
^
yoo hold up 😂 we're still working on parts
graphics card (GPU)
or graphics processing unit if you want to call it that
oh hey you're level 3 now
you can send images
Do you have a microcenter by you?
what big city is near you
tuOwk
sad
rip
so east coast
you live close to any of those cities?
ok nevermind then you're probably too far from a micro center for your parents to happily drive you there
I dont really like radeon
I see
It's a nice one
I got a 3060 ti
im gonna go study real quick because i got exams so alec gonna take it from here (maybe)
shorten your links please you guys
its vram, which is the memory for your graphics card. 16gb is FOUR TIMES what i have. you're good for roblox or whatever tf you're playing
thats separate from your system memory, which goes on the motherboard
you should definitely learn more about computers before you build
yes
dont keep pinging him lol hes still working on it
do you know how to build a pc
well you need to know how it works and where things go before you build
they have no clue
it will take you years if you dont know how
Doubt
no things will come with cables
yes
you can get custom ones if you would like but otherwise everything should come with cables
sure that works
its hard to go wrong just dont watch anything with "the verge" in the title
I've been here 2 years and I knew how to build a PC after my first week here easily
even pro builders have problems
techsource is fine
his content is for the younger audience but he at least knows what he's doing
people are different
I’d go for this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/YtQBjZ
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, Radeon RX 6900 XT, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
Opinions?
you fry your components
How
thats hard to do these days
Close to damn impossible
you would be surprised
uhh., no
No we wouldn’t
lmao
I would recommend having someone who knows even a bit about computers
We’ve seen EVERYTHING and I mean everything at this point and someone frying their components is not one of them
Basically only way to fry components is manually oc them to hell
ground your pc, touch the case every now and then, keep the psu plugged in, and you're like 100% fine
we did find one
its in the list
Yeah I found one, click the link I sent
Or getting a crap PSU, that'll fry components
But the lists we have won't have crap psus
We won't let a bad PSU on their list
Yeah that’s the one
We'll fix it
this is junk
I'd pass on that PSU for sure
you dont need a 12900k for roblox bro
Cwt csb-a unit
It’s better but absolute overkill, not point in it
It's not greay
12600k is going to be wayyyy more than enough for you lol
@little osprey Forget about your NZXT build, this is what you should be paying attention to https://pcpartpicker.com/list/YtQBjZ
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, Radeon RX 6900 XT, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
if your playing roblox save your money
Do it like this you get same or better for $75 less
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/K66mrD
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, Radeon RX 6900 XT, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
Toss a 12700(f)(k) on there tbh, for that price
Also g.skill expensive
I was thinking that too but then again, might as well save the money with a 12600k and put the money towards a nicer monitor or other peripherals
hold on, the list we sent literally has links to every part.
fortnite is not hard to run
Especially since he wants to do YouTube
It's not much saved tho
Good mic would be nice
overclocking it?
dude
How much is the 12700kf?
If he wants to do yt, a couple extra cores is nice
you think that guy is gonna overclock
Idk
384 i think
True you got a point there
System Builder - Intel Core i7-12700KF, Radeon RX 6900 XT, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
Literally playing Roblox xD
@little osprey do you have a desk yet
Wait actually if he’s planning to do YouTube wouldn’t NVENC help with that?
ur not even gonna use 25% of your pc if you pay $3000 for it.
you're not
wym nervous
You won't mess it up
ok i understand that
Building a pc nowadays is not difficult tbh
If looking for adobe and stuff nvenc and quicksync may be worth looking in to
get a bigger ssd
I gtg but another techie will probs help
We have all the parts…
LITERALLY CLICK THE LINK I SENT
IT HAS EVERY PART CHOSEN FOR YOU ALREADY
Bro its got everything on there
im editing it rn and adding like anything you could possibly need
do you know anyone that knows computers btw?
Honestly if you’re going to do Adobe and stuff I’d probably change it to this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xLwjZw
System Builder - Intel Core i7-12700KF, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
10gb for $900?
12gb is practically the same or 1-2% off a 3080ti
Honestly I’d say the 1k 12gb is better value than the $910 10gb
The extra 2 gigs could be useful with Adobe and stuff
dude doesnt even know how to edit
True that but there’s the possibility if he ever will
the gpu isnt white tho
im going to kill you
@little osprey What do you think of a white 3080 10gb strix for $1330
hard pass
That’s what I’m thinking
Only other white option is the 3080 ti gigabyte Vision for like $1500
Which imo is another hard pass
@vague oracle yes?
OH HELL WTF
Opinions on this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/67GH2m
System Builder - Intel Core i7-12700KF, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
Sippy to the rescue
IS THAT THE OFFICE PC MAX
😳
that is fricking amazing
rgb too
more fps
ill give you opinions when you ask your parents nicely if they will pay $3000 for a pc and they say yes
right
i been here for like an hour what else do you need
we've already said multiple times that its like 10x overkill for roblox and fortnite
- vrms a little weak especially with aio meaning no airflow over vrms from the cooler
- $1104+tax is a revolting price for a 3080, i've seen cheaper 3080tis on hws
the 3080 pick was for color
oh wait it wasnt the white one
nvm
bro hold on we aren't even talking to you

Only thing is I really doubt he will go on hws
you know what that's fair
dude is 13 i dont think they're going on any third party things
i kinda doubt this guy is going to OC, so i guess this mobo is fine
Make sure you don't give him the white case I got 😅
I was suggested a case but it doesn't fit a 3 fan aio
It’s a 4000D airflow, it’ll fit a 360 rad
This should be fine https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FNYwcb
System Builder - Intel Core i7-12700KF, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
dude still need peripherals and stuff
Ahh shoot
This one only has a 2 slot on top
how unlucky
We have around $700 to work with for peripherals
You can put it up front
It doesn't fit for some Reason
you already have keyboard and mouse?
you dont need a gaming table
you just need a table
ok
you need to go to bed and i need to go continue studying
…he actually has a good mouse
what keyboard
people tell you a lot of good things
royal kludge rk61 white
why dude
you're in middle school
get your sleep in
ok but thats not the point
He’s in like 8th grade, they have like no responsibilities
Welp back to the PC
stop sending messages
You have to get your parents to FULLY AGREE 100% with you on this pc idea
You need to talk to them about your decisions
I said idea
You can’t just ask them to spend 3k on the spot
she didn’t say yes
wish my parents spent 3k on a pc for me as a kid lmao
You have to butter them up a bit
Same
if i asked for a 3k pc i'd just get a beating instead
I got my dad’s old PC from like 2003 and a beating with a bundle of sticks
Newspaper for me
or frozen food
lmao
la chancla moment
The Slavic bundle of sticks is worse
The only computers I got when I was a kid was my grandma's old Windows 98 after she got XP and a refurbished laptop

Annoying
It is?
@little osprey That’s all you
Mic: k669b
Bye bye

windows 11 or 10: buy it off some cdkey website for $20 or less
lol
System Builder - Intel Core i3-10105F, GeForce GTX 1060 3GB, Apevia Prodigy MicroATX Mini Tower
ping us when you buy it
and realize u spent like an hour asking for parts when we sent the same thing 30 minutes ago
Is it possible if anyone can go on a call with me and help me build my pc?
Moose he’s yours
Scroll up a bit, should be the first link you see
Yeah, do you want a white or black case?
Is there anyone that can go on a call with me and help me build my pc?
White
if no button then it’s sold out
i can come back and help tomorrow but i’m done for tonight (sorry)
i have a life too believe it or not
Just get this instead then https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=10G-P5-3897-KL
Yes?
I had an Aorus master but I never really looked at the display
What's the best cpu
It’s really just a gimmick
Currently the 12900KS but overkill for 99% of people
Especially if just gaming
Have you built a pc?
Yeah a 12700KF is more than enough
Yes but I’m not getting into a voice call rn
Literally just use the link that I sent to the other guy but use this GPU instead
Is it ok if we can call in 1-2 weeks?
Yah I zee that I feel dumb now
Just send a message here if you have questions
My bad
All good
So intel is better then amd?
Currently for price/performance yes
Really?.. I thought amd was bc of price
There is the 5800X3D out right now but there is no upgrade path past it because the socket is ending
Gigabyte M27Q
I'm not confident enough to build it myself and since you have experience you would be the best person to go to.
Just go on youtube and find build guides from linus tech tips or techsource
You can’t go wrong with them
Link 💀
Good monitor
ok
oh can also tell me if this is a good build?
Not at all, what’s your budget? @little osprey Will help you out
1k
Are you able to spend an extra $100?
nah
This is the absolute best you’ll get for sub 1k https://www.newegg.com/abs-ali564-master/p/N82E16883360194R
At under 1k, there isn’t much point in building yourself
You just sent me a worse monitor
Reason: Bad word usage
That's a pretty small desk, if you plan to keep your PC on your desk there wont be much room for other stuff
Frugal/Modest isn't bad. Get this, biggest pc part cost I got as a kid was a 6800 GT for $300+.
Half Life 2 was great.
@wheat coral strix 1080 gang
, 32GB gang, & 4core8thread gang ---edit:
yessiiiiir
Are you who had a 970 just like me? lol. Well we're both probably content until the 1st 40 series makes an appearance & can watch 30 series prices get much better eventually.
980 lol
570 -> 280x -> 980 -> 570 -> 1080
im content for a long while after 40 series
Cool. Ya bounced around a bit. Skipping some of my older ones, had the lil 660 before the 970. Most of my games were older & mostly FPS, not very demanding. I realized how much the 3550 w/ only 4 threads was holding me back. No case yet, but I think tomorrow is "new" build & monitor time. 60hz needs to go bye bye.
moyai
my pc turns on fans running but there’s no display and no power to mouse n keyboard is my cpu dead? i unplugged the cmos battery for 5 mins then plugged it back in still no sign of connection
thoughts??
Start with your specs, and did anything happen right before this? Is this a new build or one that's been running?
i just built it like last week and haven’t had any problems with it last time i used it was i shut it down and it’s been sitting for 3 days since the last time i used it has a i9 32gbs ram and a 1080 first thing i noticed that was weird that happened the other day my bluetooth just stopped working out of know we’re when i been using it for my controller so i made sure the drivers were up to date and they were so i didn’t really care to much that it wasn’t working bc i mostly use keyboard n mouse but then today i turn my pc on no display no connection to mouse n keyboard the keyboard will flash then won’t turn on
Which i9 and what model motherboard exactly?
There's dozens of i9 processors
@ornate rock
I had a similar problem (with my adapter not working) and ngl I just put my Wifi/Bluetooth on a pcie card. I’ve heard that uninstalling and reinstalling Bluetooth drives help but you should probably give more info before doing smth irreversible or damaging. (Just realized there’s a bigger problem lol)
3060 or a 6600 XT
1080p?
ye
how much are they
retail?
the price you can get them at
both under 400$
and you can get them at that price this minute?
i dont mean the msrp
i mean wait for drops
ok
will a h100i fit in a p400a
id get a liquid freezer ii instead
I'm looking to upgrade my CPU, MOBO, and getting new RAM. Will I have to re-purchase an operating system as well as clear everything from my ssd?? Also does anyone know if the ML240R will fit on the on an i9 12000k?
what
i would refer to my previous message
If you're signed into your microsoft account you can transfer your license if you have 10/11
Reinstalling the OS is highly recommended
i want a display tho
for why
Also which 12000k
oh i read that as 12900k lol
12600k? 12700k? 12900k?
12600k you can get away with that 240, or a heatsink suck as the ak620
Ooops sorry 12900k
yeah... youll want a 360mm for that
Oh no a 240mm isn't going to be nearly enough
i would reccomend liquid freezer ii 360 or lian li galahad
That's literally the hottest consumer CPU right now
well, 5800x3d might be hotter
It's not
Dang did not know that
That thing can use 250W+ on stock settings
So should i look at also upgrading my PSU too? Currently have a 860w 80+ plat fully modular
depends on your gpu
but generally, no
unless youre heavily ocing and unlocking a 3090 ti and the 12900k, no
even then prolly not
Asus strix 1070
Not planning on ocing but planning on getting a 3080 or 3090
Thank you!
If you're not overclocking you should be ok even after upgrading
But if you want to increase power limits on the cpu/gpu 1000W may be needed
My RM850x handles a 5800X and a 3080 ti overclocked, which is about what the 12900k and 3080 would draw at stock
Man can’t wait to get myself a 3070 ti as soon as that hits $700 I’m a buy it instantly
And it probably won’t come back in stock for a fat minute
Well if it doesn't then the $700 model will. They restock pretty regularly.
And the price has only dropped by $200 in the past 2 months so it’s progress
I’m trying to go after the MSI 3070 gaming x trio in particular
Ya prices are dropping and things are coming back in stock so that’s a good thing for GPU’s
High end stuff is staying in stock at or near msrp for extended times. Now we wait for the mid range.
Yep
Right on
I’m at least waiting till the 4000’s specs come out and then I’ll decide if I’ll go for a 4000’s series or a 3070 ti like I was planning on
4000 is looking pretty hot
Literally. Over 500W on the 4090.
They're also going to launch the 4090 first by reports I've seen, the 4070 will come several months after.
If AMD can match their performance at a lower power draw and cost, it'll be hard to recommend any 4000 cards
True on that
Hey guys, so I've got the final piece for my first pc build coming in monday, do you guys have any tips or pointers for a first timer?
whats your overall budget
1500
the case is overpriced, id replace it with the 4000d airflow or p400a digital
and the psu is less than desirable
id go lian li galahad over that aio as well
p400a dosent support 360mm aio
yes it does
my ram sticks ?
p400a digital supports 360mm, you just have to remove some stock fans
what about them
maybe not actually
i think 360mm fits top mount
even so, why do you not wont front mount?
looks
about it
i might not buy a case now then and just save it for after upgrades
i already have a p400a
rn
psu?
power supply
i want to upgrade the lcd in the future that's why i went with the h150i
yep
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/9KGbt6/corsair-rm-2021-850-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-cp-9020232-na the only semi reasonably priced white unit
and its complete overkill for you
whats the point in doing a white build when the gpus black?
that... is white?
gpu
ah
Gonna be a no from me, dawg
Cxf is a good b tier
i thought it was the low pri c tier?
Cxf is pog
bet
anyone own 3 set of the argb p12’s from arctic?
No but what's your question?
mobo only has two 3 pin led headers, just wanna know if the fans have daisy chains or something so they all can be linked up and connected. my aio is holding one of the headers already
^
I'm not sure but if not you can get a rgb splitter or hub

That should do ye
sounds good, thank you. i get my fans tomorrow so we’ll see lol
No problem
is 980 pro better than sn850 ?🤔
They're fairly close
Personally, I'd rather the 850 since it seems to slightly pull ahead in most tests
There's a controller
💀
I do have SN850 as boot drive . so don't need to replace lol
Even if you had 980 pro why would you swap lol
Would be Swapping from a Lambo to a Ferrari.
lol idk
Hey just looking for advice on my pc problem ?
It has been shutting off on its own and then sometimes fires back up right away and sometimes takes an hour or so. It started doing it after trying to launch a game only. When it rebooted it worked fine doing web browsing and opening folders. When it did turn on and when I did try and launch a game, the game was pixelated and the just shut off. I tried switching power cords and they both do the same thing. I know my computer is still getting power because of led shinning when plugged in.
Right now it won’t turn on no matter what I do.
What specs? Particularly the CPU, GPU, PSU, and motherboard
Everything is new.
CPU: Intel Core i9-11900KF Rocket Lake 3.5GHz (5.3GHz Turbo) 8-Core 16-Thread
GPU: EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra Gaming 10GB
Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix Z590-E Gaming WiFi
PSU: CORSAIR RM850x 850W 80 Plus Gold
Hmm so the PSU isn't under spec at least, that's a good one.
Have you installed all of your drivers from Asus
My friend had a problem like that and it was the motherboard shorting causing the problem
what case and cpu cooler do you have
I haven’t updated for a bit now. But now it won’t even turn on for me to do that.
I don’t believe it’s overheating cause I checked the temps when it was on for the brief time it was
CPU Cooler: Corsair H115i ELITE AIO 280mm
Case: CORSAIR Obsidian Series 500D RGB
And you can't get into bios?
are u using 3 separate power cables for ur gpu btw
Or 2 if it only needs 2
3080 ftw3 is 3
3 separate power cables isn't really required
But the type 4 gen 4 cables that come with the RMx are super over spec anyway, I couldn't melt them if I tried
it's nice if you can do it, but it's not required
Sorry I’m not very knowledgeable in specifics. There is only one cord going from tower to wall if that’s what your asking.
nvidia officially says if you have 3x8pin you can daisy chain one without issues
my 3090 had no issues with one daisy chain running at 480w
My 5700xt is fully daisy chained and will pull like 300-325 completely fine
no shot you're pulling 325w at stock settings lol
I'd say start stripping parts off until it works. Start with peripherals, only keyboard and mouse plugged in.
That was with a couple up here fans taped to it and pl pushed
Stock I'll level off around 210 ish usually
Maybe 225 in some things
I bios modded mine to go up to 440 watts but didn't check actual power draw
The cooler is great for a 2 fan but just can't handle that much heat sustained
I'll probs repaste it this summer and livestream it
strix air cooler handling 550 watts on air is pretty nuts
Strip it down to the bare minimum required to get to bios after that. No ssd/hdd.
Do you have another GPU for troubleshooting?
Sheesh
it kinda just sounds like a bad GPU to me
No. I mean I have my older pc but I’m not very handy lol.
after scrolling up and reading
Does that older PC have a GPU to swap for testing?
That's what i thought from the pixelization
This is one of those times the F sku is a big F
pixelated sounds like it's booting in low res with microsoft basic display adapter
Reason: Bad word usage
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12400, Phanteks Eclipse P360A ATX Mid Tower
friend wants give or take 1k for a pc
It was weird. I would open a high end game and it would just shut off. Then when it booted eventually I opened a different high end game and it went bordered, and then grainy and pixelated and then just shut off.
Now it won’t turn on. If I press the power I can hear the click but nothing. I can hear a click if I hold it longer as well n
do they already have the 3060?
no
do you suggest something else
they’re gonna stream and do editing
so i figured nvenc and whatever other stuff nvidia has would be useful
I'd go 12100f and stronger gpu
Also mx330-g air, silicon power ram, and mp33
they prefer the look of the p360a
i’ll switch to mp33 and they want black ram too
so i chose the oloy
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12400, GeForce RTX 3060, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
they said they can afford to spend $100 more for specific things they’d rather have like color preferences
Which makes sense because not everyone wants blue ram
Oh i forgot that grey silicon power ram existed
lmao
Is there a segotep 700w?
yessir
could do this if they wanted the p360a instead yeah https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RQJZwc
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12400, GeForce RTX 3060, Phanteks Eclipse P360A ATX Mid Tower

no lga1700 bracket i dont think
there’s the kit
Might as well because 1. it’s black and they’ll like the color theme and 2. cooling wow 😳
amazon is doing that stupid thing where it blocks me from viewing some items because im not in the us ;-;
@little osprey https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nBKRv3
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12400, GeForce RTX 3060, Phanteks Eclipse P360A ATX Mid Tower
i checked the amazon listing
it includes a bracket
got my fans in and connected them all via daisy chains, however the fan daisy chains are 3 pin but the ACTUAL connector the motherboard is for a 4 pin header. im gonna go into bios and change them but would it be voltage or pwm for the speed to set as?
right, but there's a 4 pin connecting to mobo, but the daisy chains are connected via 3 pin splitters. it's still voltage?
Still voltage
Even if they were 4 pin fans voltage mode would work. It just might be louder and less precise.
we're twins 😳
Yo is oem windows key bad?
I can’t show the website obviously but the website is pretty popular so you might recognize it
Nah you're good
Ok w
for the average gamer (me) a 12400f is a good pick right
i dont need 10 cores for games
and i've lasted on hexa core no hyperthreading for a while now
yes
whats your budget for the whole build
you might wanna consider 5600 tho if it's cheaper than 12400f
give or take $1500, dont make a list tho because im not buying until july
a friend just keeps asking me what i want so im going to give him an answer
12400f 3060 ti very possible
thats possible rn for $1400
ye
ignore the 5500 cause that's trash
how much worse than 12100f is it?
half the cache be like
and how much isit again?
well, it's not worse than 12100f
5500 sounds trash
5600g perf
its a 5600g without the igpu
cause 19 megs of cache
5500 is around $150 i think
could be wrong
5600 has 199 msrp
189 iirc
nvm
same price as 3600
i googled it
alr going for 184 tho https://pcpartpicker.com/product/PgcG3C/amd-ryzen-5-5600-36-ghz-6-core-processor-100-100000927box
is the ventus 3060ti acceptable or nah
depends what you mean by acceptable
im used to high temps, doesnt bother me
it works without throttling, sure
but i'd recc repaste lol
what DOes bother me is your nickname
but theres much better for similar prices
why is it missing a parenthesis
hm
ive seen them for as low as 430
i check every day
lol
yes
i'd just get 12400f imo
ye i dont need 12600k
it's like 172 rn?
12400 cheaper currently
im not gonna overclock anyways
ye
are there any drawbacks to igpu
otherwise they perform the same
12400 is cheaper rn lmao 😂
usually igpu is way more expensive
12400f is more popular
cam ill draft a build list in a minute
so sometimes non f one is cheaper
just to get a guess for prices
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0832KN3RV?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1 currently this is a good price
but its not on pcp for some reason
Ur a pc pp
Segotep 700w is what i added to mine
is that what the link is
ah
yeah
the classic segotep
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6x4v3y heres what i got pulled up rq
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12400, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P360A ATX Mid Tower
the heatsink is complete overkill
I’m booting up my laptop rn
and could change the case for mx330-g air with a smaller heatsink
Or trying to it’s not turning on 💀
kinda sounds like a skill issue tbh
Fr
I think my wall outlets are fricked
which is another skill issue
and my light bulb burned out
ok im in
wtf
ak620
LOL
ill send mine in a sec
peerless assassin doesnt show up in pcp for me
its not registered as 12th gen in pcpp
just save it for last and ignore compatibility filter then add
is 3060ti mining worth doing
because i might want to try making some money back but they're all LHR
ive made over 1k from mining on mine
tho it is fhr
.
if you can get a 3060 ti FE youre good
maybe who knows
i still got a long while
ada might even be out by the time i build 👴🏻
not till sep
System Builder - Intel Core i5-12400, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti LHR, Deepcool CL500 4F ATX Mid Tower
what i was thinking but im getting too far ahead of myself here lmao
why that case though
also why 2tb ssd if you already have 6tb hdd
you could get a 3070 instead
u right
prices drop too
would be ez
hence why i shouldnt be making lists rn
oh wait
most motherboards have two or more m.2 slots
too used to my poopy h370
What cpu is a good pair for a 3080?
12600k
and b660 motherboard
unless you’re overclocking cpu, then you’d go for z690. otherwise b660 because you shouldn’t need z690 features on a 12600k
5600(X) is $185ish and non-Ecore 12400 is only $175, although indeed 12600K is a bit faster. Was really nice when newegg had it for $230. Depending on the 600K price, my pick would be 12400 & save the extra $75ish for anything else. Plus, 12400 doesn't "need" Win11.
Thanks
5800x3d only amd cpu worth it if new mobo as well
Anything low 12th gen other than 12100, 5600, 5700x
5700x tho
I'd still go 12th gen over 5000 series for upgradability
But 5700x is hot
What about it
T-FORCE DELTA MAX RGB Solid State Drive uses a magnificent RGB mirror design to offer the largest visual proportion of the lighting effects. The magnificent mirror surface displays a transparent effect like a magic mirror. The densely arranged LED lighting design can offer a light feast with the ...
It looks like a regular overpriced aio that may or may not be leaky
You will quite literally neve see the rgb on that ssd. Get an mp33 or 970 Evo instead
I want to put this ssd where the X or open space is, can I use some sort of adhesive or strips to do that?
I have the AIO already, and it's amazing, dropped my cards temps from close to 90c down to 55c
Card? As in you're using it for your gpu?
just looking to fill in that big black space as it's not esthetically pleasing with the rest of my build
Yes it's a aio gpu cooler, thought about getting the ssd as I could get a 1TB as my three eagle M2 are only 500GB
I eouldnt reccomend essentially taping an ssd to your aio
Get rgb strips for the aio and get an nvme ssd if you have the space
The mp33, p31, or 970 Evo are good choices
my space is down to the bottom of the PC and that spot on the aio lol
I have 3 nvme's but their all 500 gb was looking for a tb one to be able to download files over 500gb
downloading complete show's some of the longer running ones in 1080 or 4k can get over 500,
If you're doing 4k video transfer a gen 4 nvme will be your friend
And if you need a lot of storage, either high capacitygen 4s, or hdds
thanks
5700x only worth if you have a am4 board atm otherwise go 12600k
i said if new mobo as well
@wheat coral seeing your build pic was eerie. I have the same case, heatsink, fans and ram. Your build looks just about identical to mine lol
Hi guys i need help i am new tp gaming on pc
What's your question?
i need a pc
What country and what's your budget?
budget is 1k country uk
Prebuilt or wanna build your self? Is it for gaming?
build
You wanna build yourself?
yes
Do you need wifi?
yes
1 sec
or prebuilt
Hey guys, so I'm doing my first pc build tonight. All the build guides I've seen recommend doing a test boot before installing the mobo into the case
How would I do this with an AIO that I was using a fan controller with? Would plugging the pump and a single fan into the mobo be enough to cool it just for a bootup?
idk
should be fine
you're just seeing if it gets into bios, not trying to run prime95 on it
Alright cool. Would it be fine to just leave the AIO attached to the mobo for the rest of the build? My case has a fan tray and I'd rather not redo the thermal paste
who
you don't need thermal paste for the boot test
AIO has preapplied paste
ahhh
yeaaaahh
well yeah you absolutely can it'll just be a little annoying to get it into the case at first lol
np good luck bro
word of advice for you that i wish i had for my first build
when you screw in the cooler (aio block in this case)
instead of going clockwise/counterclockwise
start by screwing in one screw like 25%
then go diagonal and do 25%
then repeat for the other pair
then do another 50% in the same order
then the final 25%
thx
Yeah, the guides I saw recommended that to make sure the paste is evenly applied
i couldn't get the cooler on properly because i was trying to screw on the cooler by doing each one completely
so i couldn't even get the second screw in
was scary cause i thought i was breaking it lol
Lol
I think the part that's most intimidating to me is making sure everything is plugged in correctly
so many cables lol
scariest part of my first build for me was definitely the cooler
i lifted it off because i thought i was approaching it wrong
and some thermal paste dripped off and got into the ram slots
Oh damn
i thought i killed my board right then lol
i got it out with an electric toothbrush soaked in isopropyl alcohol
had to clean that brush very well before actually brushing teeth with it again lol
I know thermal paste is very thermally conductive, but it doesnt conduct electricity right?
some does, most doesn't
Np
i was more worried that it would physically prevent the pins from contacting the slot
Gotcha
like, i saw a video where someone externally powered a ram module by taping over the power input pins
it is possible to block some ram pins
Yeah, I also kinda way overspent on this build lol. I gamed on garbage laptops for years so I wanted something powerful
i feel that
as a kid i didn't understand anything about computers just figured if it says i7 and 16gb it's a beast
played overwatch at 1080p 30 fps lowest settings with some lowered render scale
and had to take a break between every match because otherwise it would shut down from gpu hitting 110C
I had the uh... Misfortune of owning an alienware
first thing i did when i built my first pc was install all the old games i played on craptops and just laugh at how well they ran
overwatch went from 1080p30 lowest to 1080p 300 ultra
minecraft went from 30 fps to 1850 fps
1850 lol
blade and soul went from 1080p 45 fps low to 4k 144 fps ultra
it was life changing levels of catharsis
like wow i did not know games could look that good or run that well LOL
Oh btw, I dont have an electrostatic armband, can I just periodically tap the PSU?
yeah i've done 40 builds and never used one of those
i just touch a doorknob every 10 mins if i'm feeling paranoid
lol, sounds good
otherwise it's absolutely fine to just touch a doorknob once before you start building as long as you're not building on carpet
or if i gotta run over carpet to grab a tool just touch it again
never had any static related issues in 40 builds of barely caring about it
case didn't come with any?
i've only ever had one case that didn't include a single ziptie
I.... I didnt check
they usually do
It wasnt a cheap case so It probably did
check the accessory box/bag that has the screws and stuff
it'll usually have zipties in there
well, i've had $20 cases that included 3 zipties even though they were solid panel cases with no cable management holes to speak of
the only case that had no zip ties was $70
Mobo also had some cable management stickers as well, probably gonna need those to sort the fans into the fan controller
like even this thing included zipties lol
kenzie moment
That's a relief lol
cameron don't pretend this ain't still look better than your HP pc smh
my asus looks better than that
this was a $300 3200g build
Oh yeah and of course as soon as I buy my card it drops by 100 bucks as soon as it ships
fair
Well thank you for the help. Hopefully everything goes well
good luck 🙂
I feel like that'll be easier with DDR5 with the power being on the module
yeah it was ddr5
it was a stick that didn't allow voltage adjustment so they epowered it
dies
god i think i just had a small heart attack
i was asleep and my dad rebooted the circuit or whatever
i tried turning my pc on, lights went on but red lights were on for dram and cpu, had to shut down turn it back on, and windows repaired itself
thought the cpu somehow fried and the gpu was still in tact
which wouldve been very odd
for some reason my boot ssd is running at 100% utilization
could it be related?
or is it just the pc turning on
looks like its coming down now
its probably just everything opening at once becuase of the boot
if it is screwed up, i atleast have an extra ssd in my system i can use for boot
Getting paranoid? lol
doesnt normally sit at high usage when i boot though
very
i have put too much into this thing for it to break because of a power surge
i am constantly paranoid about it
I would be too tbh
Surge protector or ups time?
I'm only less so because I know I can fix it
What are ebay sellers fees again btw, if anyone knows?
It depends but it's roughly 8%
Alright
I finally listed the 6800xt to ebay and it sold for 760
So I'll have my money back
They often have promotions for reduced fees, I try to sell with those
I also pay less because I have a top rated profile
Thanks
I’m installing a water cooler should I had thermal paste or will the pre applied thermal paste be enough?
Pre applied paste is usually enough. It's only a few degrees difference with the top shelf stuff.
You this was a hot deal if it was for $350
That would be a good deal if you had a Z590 motherboard already, but for a new build I would have gone 12600k for $100 less and better performance.
