Shout out to my dude over there at geek squad,
This thing has stopped being a little brat
BUT I WAS ANGRY BECAUSE THE DUDE AT GEEK SQUAD UNPLUGGED THE CPU
And for an hour I was wondering “why is the display port not working”
Oh yea I know my cable management is bad but I’m just now starting my set up and I don’t know how to work it, if you guys have any advice on how I should put the cords that’d be nice
Should I use zip ties?
It’s like a jungle
yes just beg the manufacteres for the parts and say you make video about
thanks I did it and they send me free 12900KS
Stonkkkssss
12900ks bad only 16 core

I will review feeding it to goat
ohhh okok i forgot 1 secon
What bout Roblox tho? 😰

roblox need at least 128 cpu cores
😥🥶😱😱😱😱😱 yooo
And 7 3090 ties
need nvidias super computer
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Tj8z78
@earnest olive ask goat about this
this enough rgb to light up entire cd
not enough rgb
motherboard not good enough
That’s enough light to make me seizure
You need the ql120s man
5000T
Rgb cpu
No that psu is already the bomb😎 😎
I rate it a 5/10 rgb
Bomb as in it’ll explode?

OK @earnest olive final list
i put video game for ur goats as well
putting goat sym in is cheating reeeeeeeeeee
ur just salty that u didnt think of it
thank you. goat is very happy

bro what trash wine u drink
I don't drink
nah like what trash wine was that
idk everyone else says it's good LOL
that was my first taste of any alcoholic drink ever
I don't want a second taste
they gave us some good pasta to go with it though so I'm just eating that lol
why did u never have alcohol before dis btw
dm
wine is vile tbf
ewww next thing you gonna say you like pee water beer
I love beer
whats wrong with beer
not much alcohol
🤮
and very tasty
All alcohol is gross
nah cocktails and cider are nice
I've never had it lol
beer is fine
the c in cider stands for crap
how do u know its gross then lol
nou
the c in rawr stands for crap?
oh no
im devastated
how am i gonna recover
the C in stick
Um I've tasted some alcohol
And liked non of it
but you haven't had cocktails or ciders
Reason: Bad word usage
Why
because you swore
Talking about alcohol consumption and why its bad but can't curse
yeah
no its cuz you said the f word
overdoing it is bad
just like overdoing anything is bad
in moderation its alright
just like most things
for example
feeding a cpu 2volts but only once every few days is fine
(this is a joke, please dont do this)
omw to feed ur cpu
omw to eat ur cpu
wow we are all twinsies
indeed
bad 3600's
pato we have twin 3600 3060 ti builds atm

my 3600 loses to a 7700k in single core
pato did u hear racca was a genshin simp for a while
have you ram oc'd yet?
ive never touched genshin
she
nah but its in cinebench, from what people have told me it doesnt care about ram speed much
he had changed nickname to guacca
tru
cinebench more like cinedumdum
my 3600 also loses to a 9600k in multi core
not sure if thats normal
by a decent bit too
9600 has no ht 💀
i could be remembering wrong
must be
But on ryzrn eveything do cuz fclk
arent we all rawr simps here tho
i simp rawr
he seems cool
fair
i think multi core was in the 9200s
nah bro
nice aio
Why is it so difficult to sell a PC right now? lol
You’d think more people would want one at a decent price
Heres my budget build

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/G2xNPX
cheap gpu
also i wouldnt buy that aio
or the ssd
the p2 one anyways
Yeah I'm not happy with it tho I probably gonna replace it
P2 one I had before . I using it as storage. Main boot is M470
i also wouldnt have gone with that mobo for a 12600k
i woulda spent 20 more for an msi b660-a or asus b660 prime
I'm not huge fan of Overclocking so I thought any mobo should be ok lol
Yeah thinking about Galahad too
Not on that build lol
I have highend build at gameplace that I care about aesthetic but this one is my gaming build so not caring much about aesthetic

DS3H is fine for 12600k or less at stock. 12700k is where it gets iffy.
I cant find any lga 1700 adapters for my kraken x73
Is the 12600 worth it performance wise over a 12400f
12400f is 270 AUD and 12600 is 340 AUD
no
not unless its a 12600k
or kf
So i should stick with the 12400f
yes
12600 non k is a useless cpu
There's literally no point ever to get it unless it's somehow cheaper than a 12400(f)
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/FJ2Ygb Would this be good for 1440p Ultra gaming
id do this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Mvjgtn
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/fDZvfv id do this
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Ljzj2m is this gud?
i would change a few things... also half the stuff isnt in stock?
do you already have that stuff
its in stock in a computer store near my place
you not in the US?
yea
im from singapore
ahhh
i cant really help you too much then because idk what your alternatives are
you should manually put in the prices even in local currency .... what are your other options for power supply.... cooler.... ram depending on price... gpus and SSD's - I would look for something like team mp33 1tb instead of a 500gb 970 evo plus
oh ok
for cooler something like a gammax 400 or something is plenty
no need for an aio
also personally would go with a diff case but guessing you want that because its small
False, the UHD 770 iGPU is better than the 12400 (UHD 730) which makes it better in the short term and long term.
Intel dGPUs will be able to synergize with the iGPU for increased performance.
The 12600f on the other hand... now that would be useless. If it existed.
but the 12500 has uhd 770 as well doesnt it?
yep it does
Sure but a $20 difference. Personally I'd take a 12600 over a bad bin 12600 aka 12500
by that logic - 30$ more and get the 4 extra p cores tho
True
If you really needed the igp you may as well save a ton of money and get a 5600g
Yeah it has worse CPU perf but whatever
Igp users won't really care for that
Plus who be buying a Intel dgpu?
Define "a ton of money" because I see a $10 difference to the 12500
And it's more of a "use it until I get a dGPU" thing, then if you do get the Intel dGPU you can boost it. Their top model by most accounts falls around the 3070, so with the synergy thing maybe get it close to 3080
imo for igpu either 12400 non f or 12600k on intel no point going 12500/600 non k imo since price is so close and 5600g if theyre not going to be adding a gpu
12600k is great cpu
I pairing it with 3080 now
It's much better than my old 10700k
Sure the K is, but the non-K that's missing the E-cores is
at least you get higher ring clock
I'd take even 12400 over the 10700/11700, but selling z590 mobo wasn't quick/ez 😅. 11700F is still a huge upgrade for me.
but yeah it bothers me that 12600 and 12600K have a different core config
sets a weird precedent when K used to only mean overclockable
inb4 we start seeing cursed F cpus with lower cores
Yeah & then like the 12700F/k/kf where F on it specifically just means no igpu
is 699 usd decent?
Yeah that's not bad
alright
I'm gonna try and sell my 3060 ti and upgrade
since my original plan was for a 3070 ti
That's decent for FE also btw. I suggest 3070 or 3080. 3070 ti isn't that great
canadacomputers
Oh so it's in cad even? That's a great price
879 cad yeah
canadacomputers has been restocking gpus quite a bit
and they've lowered prices quite a bit for most gpus
glad things are finally getting closer to normal
yeah thats alright…. If you find a 3070 cheaper tho grab it instead unless its msi ventus
i hate this ipad keep tapping enter instead of delete ree
skill issue
Yea 3070 ti isn't all that great, and that warm gddr6x on it. Depending on price VS 70/80 of course.
It's not that hot really. GDDR6X is usually hot only if you have a 3080 or higher, especially the 3090 with it being double sided and needing a good backplate.
Yeah that extra density letting it do dat
Oh that's good then.
g6x is g6x, you will have temp issues if mining on stock pads
if not mining it was never really an issue
except for like, rev 1 gigabyte cards
They have a cheap flimsy aluminum heatsink that barely cools the gpu. The ventus 3x 3070 is really hot and the 2x actually throttles.
Just msi ventus - mech is what they call it on amd
ventus is synonymous with hating yourself
I had to undervolt a 2070 super ventus to like 60% power to make it stop thermal throttling
it would thermal throttle so hard at stock
they put a cooler barely suitable for a 1050ti on a 2070 super
my laptop has a beefier cooler than ventus cards
ventus should be renamed vomitus
🅱️entus
my brother bought rog strix 3060ti and when I check cpu-z I see memory vendor is Hynix instead of samsung 🤔
is that normal lol
I thought all nvidia chips coming from samsung lol
Nope only g6x
yup
is samsung mem better than hynix ? lol couse I see lots of bad reviews about hynix mems on internet right now lol
Hynix ram or vram
Pretty different
And well, depends
As a side note, hynix is currently better than Samsung at ddr5,
hello people 😁
oh I think they talking about rams lol
Gddr6 wise, I think Samsung might be better? But doesn't matter for running at stock
thought g6x was made by samsung?

weird stuff lol
oop
Hello
Looks like it
I guess some miners complaining about hynix mems lol
Rule #3
couse they can't oc it as well as samsung
There's better places for selling anyways
i need a good place to advertise it
r/hws is good, Facebook marketplace is good
Also youre charging wayy to much for it
also looking for decent 240mm aio for top mounting 🤔
oh maybe 280mm tho . didn't check if my case supports 280mm on top but its thick so I guess it will
280 or 360 if it fits
360 not gonna fit
I dont want to tear it down to front mounting lol just wanna mount it to top
why would you need to tear stuff down?
whats the budget?
I see tbh I would go for 12400F if price is not high there
it is overpriced down under
Okey 1 sec
I'm just doing some final peer check before i buy
my gpu barely fitting into case lol also theres holes for 280mm on top but im also not sure about if theres enough room for radiator couse looks like theres no room between mobo and top
Pato prob working on it already, but would swap to 12100 and would try to fit 3060
Btw no PSU?
yeah 3060 is much better but price difference can be high in different countries
500aud for that 3050, 580 for a 3060 on pcpp, pcpp might be lying again but well
i think 3060 worth for extra 80bucks
reusing an old corsair 750w
What exactly?
btw I already have 12900k but 12900KS is really tempting lol
Hx will do fine
you need wifi?
ye
no ethernet in my room
will 3060 do well with the cpu i got?
ah nvm
out of stock
stfu crypto miners
theres plenty much gpus in stock in US and prices falling as well
yeah but not in aus
maybe soon lol
maybe fingers crossed
but my bday is coming up so i kinda want the pc ordered asap
yeah thats just us bro
ty
np
nice case tho
oh btw just saw youre reusing psu
yeah
yeah you can use that then
yeah I thought stock getting better in general lol
nah US just gets stupid disproportionate stock
lol
mah its fine but if you want get the ballistix for 3 more very nice if you want to oc the ram too
it does…. Evga queue is still only way to buy from them in eu and still closed
I wonder is upgrading from 12900K to 12900KS worth it ? lol
lool nooo
meanwhile evga cards in stock at newegg too in US
ye
3 more? huh
i don't want to oc
lol got 12900K but idk 12900KS is so tempting
wdym by 3 more
dollars
only worth for comp benching
5.5ghz
worlds fastest gaming cpu lol
so stick with gpu that i had before or not?
5.2 stock
go with the one i put in the list
why
I'm not sure about there but in us its wroth to hold for just a little more for gpu couse prices falling down
it's a small price diff
cuz its the cheapest 3050
my 12900k can do 5.2ghz with oc tho
exactly
but drawing over 300w
but triple fan is cool 😎
I dont think 3050 need 3fan lol
that’s just i9 things
it doesn’t
spending more than the cheapest 3050 makes no sense
ok... :(
good thing is it have E cores which is equalising general power usage lol
it eats power as crazy under load lol
ikr
oh and I wanna stick with the nzxt h510
sad thing is theres no any new white strix cards
no 3080ti , 3080 12gb , and 3090tie tho
flow
sadge

what about this? https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/GZjCzf
why is gigabyte eagle cards are so ugly lol
I see its 30bucks more
will it perform the same as the triple fan one?
*less
Within a few percent, but cooling is a good bit worse
so is it worth getting the other one?
tbh I dont like gigabyte cooling in general lol
wait
hold up
war pig was right
it is $60 more
the eagle is $60 more
i'm going with triple fan
it's CHEAPER to go triple fan
lol cheaper = better

so pato, ty for ssd and motherboard
and war pig ty for memes
ok
imma buy
aww no embeds
If my PC won't boot after installing a new CPU and I've checked the ram, the fan is working, the old CPU works and I'm 99% sure it's compatible, is it likely my bios that needs to be updated?
Ok so I am buying a new mobo and I was wondering if the gigabyte z690 aero is any different from the aurorus z690 elite other than looks?
Which mobo and cpu are you pairing together with?
Is there any difference between the gigabyte z690 aero and the arous z699 elite?
Hm, there doesn't seem to be much difference between the two
@mossy venture triple fan is not automatically better
there are plenty of examples of poorly designed triple fan cards losing to well designed dual fan cards on the same GPU
for example, sapphire pulse 5700xt (2 fan) > gigabyte gaming 5700xt (3 fan) > asus rog strix 5700xt rev 1 (3 fan)
manufacturers know triple fan looks good, but the rest of the cooler design is honestly more important
also, investigate the price of i3-12100, it's honestly a better buy than i5-10400 for gaming nowadays if you're on a budget
it looks like you're planning to use the i5-10400 stock cooler; the i3-12100f also comes with a far superior stock cooler
It was the bios. Up and running now, thank you for responding 😊
Ah, I was suspecting that too
nice, you got the xeon?
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/hkpp2m @mossy venture stronger newer cpu on newer platform for slightly cheaper
System Builder - Intel Core i3-12100F, GeForce RTX 3050 8GB, NZXT H510 Flow ATX Mid Tower
ok
ty orange
but
the other one i'm willing to pay fkr
for
looks way better
and triple fan is better airflow 😁
btw that b660 is stuck on red i kinda don't wanna use it
so I'm using the older one
triple fan doesn't automatically mean better airflow either
It all blends down to cooler design as a whole
Not fan count
ight
I'll use the eagle
and the cpu
BUT
i need a better wifi motherboard
cos that one is UGLY
max $200aud
SNAGGED ONE

AMD B550. Good with Ryzen 5 5600x?
Yes
for a friend
no need bios update?
Probably not but I think it has flashback anyway
Yeah it does. You can update without a CPU.
I'd get the 5600 instead of the 5600X btw, or whichever is cheaper
No not the G, just 5600
gotta keep it under 900, tryna pick up a 3060 ti or 6600 xt https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BPTRTn thoughts?

oh
More than a year after AMD launched their Ryzen 5000 CPUs, budget friendly versions of the architecture are available. We start by looking at the R5 5600 against the 5600X & i5-12400.

A difference of about $70
not worth
Whichever is cheaper, they're basically the same and you can even overclock to close the gap completely
what do you have cpu - gpu?
Mine? 5800X and 3080 ti
i have to go sorry
No worries
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/cBxWYg
would this be a good build or would a 5600G be a better option
System Builder - Intel Core i3-10105F, Radeon RX 460, Cooler Master MasterBox MB320L ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
5600g/x better
At that price range I'd almost consider a Pentium Gold G7400. Better single core, newer platform.
12100 is obviously better if possible
G7400 is the 2c/4T huh, surprisingly good in games tbh. Read a review a while back.
Yeah, it would get the job done and allow for an upgrade later
well something they can use for some time ig
but they might get another build from a friend
Yeah best bet at that budget is used. Or at least as many salvaged parts from other computers as possible.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BPTRTn thoughts? gotta keep it under 900 tryna get a 3060 ti or a 6600 xt

yea
Can I ask about is USB port issues here?
What’s the problem
(sorry for length) Generally I would describe it as them working and not working with no seeming pattern - I have to have things plugged into certain ports, and have to keep switching them around because they randomly stop working. One example was plugging a Bluetooth receiver in the back stops my keyboard/mouse receiver in the front. Even after taking the Bluetooth out I have to unplug the keyboard thing, then into a USB hub I have (plugged into the same BUS) then I can put it back where it was originally and it will work. My wifi works at different speeds in different ports. I have tried so many combinations and ways of setting it up but I don't know what else to do or where what to replace to fix it. Ultimately I just want audio out of my Bluetooth headset that doesn't skip...
This is a Dell refurb, I had similar issues with another Dell refurb I had recently - I don't know enough about computers to know or troubleshoot if it's the actual USB bus (or whatever it's called), so I'm trying to find an answer here 😊
(the Bluetooth audio I know could be because of my wifi and other things - I am replacing my wifi adapter anyway to hopefully rule that out)
What processor and motherboard chipset do you have?
CPU is xeon e5-1650
Motherboard is Dell 08HPGT w/Sandy bridge-E r.07 chipset (?)
Bios is ver. A18, which I installed today
Hello I recently swapped my gpu in my pc however after swapping it I found that my system changed its boot disk to an older drive that originally was the boot disk. I tried disconnecting this disk resetting the cmos and obviously made sure to change the boot drive in the bios. My system still refuses to boot on my other drive can anyone help me?
This is my first build my budget is around $2,500 , can anyone help me with recommendations or even changes that you would make to make the pc build even better i really would appreciate the help im stressing over the parts lol im just ready to click ORDER already so if anyone can help please
Feel free to tag me or pm me
@dim moon
case: corsair 4000d airflow or a phanteks case like a p400a or something.
fans: arctic p12 or p14 unless you want rgb then probably a different brand because corsair fans cost a lot for their rgb stuff
cooler: arctic liquid freezer ii unless you want rgb then me personally i dont know how well that cooler master one performs
im not sure how good that psu is, refer to the psu tier list or if someone else is online ask to see if that one is alright to use.
the storage is decent but you could probably save some money or find something better at the same price or cheaper
also for a side note for future reference, for rgb components, when selecting them, make sure that they are compatible because having multiple different rgb products can cause some hassle such as with your list of having corsair fans and a cooler master aio and then msi case with rgb fans
the corsair fans take their own rgb hub/headers and its own software while the cooler master and msi may be universal* and might work within each others softwares but thats a lot of cables to deal with also
also remove the windows 10 from your list as windows 10 is free from their own website, you would just have to activate it with a product key
how much u getting the 3070ti
a 3080/ti should be possible in 2.5k usd
if you need more help/suggestions from more people, try asking again somewhere between like 11am~5pm pst

System Builder - Intel Core i7-12700K, GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower
why a 12700k
not much perf youll gain over a typical 12700f
esp for price
you can save by going cheaper cooler, mobo, and cpu
its very helpful with troubleshooting tho lol
I have the slightest idea when it comes to building a pc my guy
id also swap ssd
I just went to pc part picker picked some stuff
also z690 boards do be compatible with 13th gen when it comes out
so he can upgrade later
its the cheapest b tier ssd rn so idk lol
having that option is always nice
lol
id rather save 10 bucks and grab a kc2500 if it were me
kc2500 better
If anyone had any builds around 25-2600 for streaming and gaming , id rather have someone with experience like you guys then myself piecing it together
$2500-$2600 for complete build list
there isnt testing on the 2tb but its the same idea
by tomshardware
other reviewers have it
maybe look at size of the ssd and prices
before coming at me
lmfao
Lol im just looking for help guys

most people arent comfortable with ebay tho lol
anyway if u wanna help make a list instead of arguing
you know tons of people are gonna think shallow
I know
do they want the nvidia features?
i made it
streaming
Streaming + Gaming
Ill paste the build you gave me again later today see what everyone else opinions, after that ill begin my order
hows the lf2 on SPR-X?
spr-x?
but i had SPR-X hotkeyed
its top 3
galahad ek and lf2
or does it need washer mod?
ah ok
only old used /lapped coolers need washer no?
idk ive only done mid tier lga1700 builds so far
12700f is highest ive gone
havent even thrown an aio on any yet
There's some that are badly designed/poor pressure
only 224xt, ak620, and a couple other air coolers
yee im talking about the decent reputed ones we usually talk about
there possibly may be a noctua there
i dont shill noctua tho
client just wanted one so i kinda complied lol
i def didnt literally pay $70 for a u12s that probably performs like a 224xt
@frank stirrup this is a little sus
ur sus
surface area ig
hmm
but then again, 140mm fan moves more air
but is it enough when it has one less fan?
this is interesting
im looking thru a bunch of independent reviewers and it seems to say the same thing
360mm rad size
398 x 120 x 38 mm
280mm rad size
317 mm x 138 mm x 38 mm
they could be within margin
gn's def is
but i find it very sus that 280 beating 360
but others arent as much

System Builder - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Cooler Master MasterBox TD500 Mesh w/ Controller ATX Mid Tower
- How would I go about flashing the bios without another cpu?
The only reason I asked is because I only have a few minutes lol.
Alright give me a moment and I'll try to change a few things on your list if you haven't paid for anything yet and try to do better
Also what is your budget
well one... do you have any parts if any. 2 are you in the US and 3 whats the budget?
because i would swap out basically every part

So the guy bought all of the parts accept the PSU. He just wants me to build it. I'm just grabbing a PSU that I can get before Wednesday.
He is gaming
youre in the US yeah?
I've seen worse
there's only one optimal list
and what is that wise one
lol
ugh the embed update
cant argue with that
it was funnier when the embed just said intel
That psu is better then the corsair?
just as good and cheaper
no, but the one you picked is overkill

throwing money in water
theyre both A tier tho and same wattage lol
and also corsair tends to not be the best value
Only reason I ask I'd the corsair will be here quicker
Ok I'll grab the one you listed
Also the motherboard being flashed
gold A vs blue A if we want to be technical about it
it's not a meaningful difference, I am agreeing with you
ye
just answering his question fully
I appreciate it
650 rmx kind of doesn't have a reason to exist
uhh that motherboard should have bios flashback... it will explain it in the manual if it isnt 5000 ready for some reason
paying that much for 650w just doesn't make any sense
when its on sale its fine but normal price is icky
does it? my b550 steel legend surprisingly doesn't have bios flashback
Oh ok
luckily it came 5000 ready out of the box, I had a spare 3600x on hand though
it should lemme double check
nope it doesn't
well, there's a 99.999% chance that it's 5000 ready out of the box, considering how old zen 3 is by now
but worst case you can pull your 3700x and use that to update
I appreciate all the help. Usually I do the list and the have them buy the parts. But he heard through a mutual friend I could build so he just bought all the parts.
uhh it doesnt
asrock doesn't seem to think bios flashback is a feature worth adding
well it should be ready by now so just pray - if not return for a different board
also ugggh wtf asrock
on a 200$ board thats stupid
thats pretty fast tbh
I literally just finished a build and have 3 more to do.
Me waiting for 13th gen to upgrade the CPU and use bios flashback for 5 more fps
you dont need to use bios flashback tho you can use normal bios update
Lol well if you do an oopsie you will be safe 😛
Yeah lol
Can get one from deepcool for it if not
Kinda annoying tbh lga1700 has been out for a good while now and still coolers don't ship with mounting hardware
ya
Had the same thing happen to me this week with a pure rock 2 for a build for someone
Even after be quiet saying that all coolers will be shipping with the mounting hardware now
yeah, luckily boards that aren't 5000 ready basically shouldn't exist by this point
zen 3 is OLD
the amount of bad luck you'd need to get NOS from that long ago...
My asus LC360 aio had included lga1700 mounting kit even I bought it 2 months before 12th gen launched

updated my cooler master cosmos build log today, https://www.mnpctech.com/blogs/news/building-intel-arc-alchemist-custom-gaming-pc-case-mod-for-giveaway
That’s a sick pc build bro
Hi
Can anyone help me properly choose a good surge protector/back ups option for my PC build?
Are you just looking for surge protection or UPS power supply?
Both
Surge protection can be as simple as a good power strip
Amazon Basics has a halfway decent UPS
This is what I got, but it's already thrown an error code a week into owning it. So I was gonna return it and possibly get the next size up just to have it. As the PSU I got to replace the one that came in my prebuilt that went bad is quite a bit bigger than this build needs (thinking ahead to future upgrades/builds). So I'm still kinda undersized for the PSU's potential. Though per my build specs I should be around 430w under max load
This APC battery back up power supply offers guaranteed power and surge protection for wireless networks, computers, and other electronics in your home or business. Backup battery power supply is designed for use during outages and unsafe voltage fluctuations, and provides surge protector with ba...
Where I'm getting messed up is people telling me I want pure sine wave. Which that appears significantly more expensive to buy a back ups that has pure sine wave while on the back up.
That's the next step up and what I was looking at
The size of UPS you need depends on the expected load and how long you need it to run for. Most of the time you can get away with a lower rated one because your goal is to gracefully shut down the PC in case of power interruption.
Yea. This guy in robeytech blew me out because I have a 850w PSU and the UPS says 600w... But my build under full load should even break 450w... I'd think it's about actual consumption not ratings
Going any bigger will just get me more run time, or have me better prepared for a future build
How long do you need it to run for, though?
Keep in mind power efficiency of PSU too
It's mainly this pure sign wave stuff. I'd think it's not that important to have it on battery back up unless I expect to use the PC for more than a few minutes which I don't.
Enough time to save my work, let QuickBooks backup to cloud etc and shut down really.
So even if your build after the power is in DC takes 400 watts, you'll still see a higher draw at the outlet
Just a little thing to keep in mind
You can totally use a lower rated unit then, as long as it gives you that nice clean sine wave
Ohh that's true. It has to draw higher wattage to successfully get the desired amount to the PC consistently. Good point.
Am I understanding this right, as long as I'm not on battery and on normal power it's always a pure sine wave right? Only time we are talking pure, stepped or simulated is for the battery right?
Yeah, you don't really need a UPS for this even. There's much cheaper things that will clean up the power.
If I got that right then I'll just get the bigger option and not stress it. If my PC ever got ruined it would fall under their warranty of up to 150k coverage. I'd get full retail costs of the damaged parts
Wait slow down. Gonna lose me here. Would we be talking about cleaning up the power while on normal power too or just battery back up?
The short video I watched said the power lines basically send in a pure sine wave. Then some battery back ups have to use a stepped sine wave to copy that during a power outage.
I'm just trying not to have anything someone is gonna tell me isn't proper. It does say that stepped sign wave can make sensitive electronics glitchy... At the same time going off just the info apc gives with their products my device should be safe 🤷🤦😭
The short version of the concept is that by taking the wall AC input, converting it to DC, and then back to AC, you get much more stable voltage
You don't need a big battery for this
That's what the PSU does though
No, the PSU takes AC and converts it to DC
BUT
If the input voltage is unstable so is the output (to a degree)
Well built power supplies will be able to better compensate yes
Where are you measuring this?
Way more than my build needs.
Also tells me the wattage being drawn from it by PC and monitors
That input voltage is from the wall yes. But if the voltage were to suddenly drop to 110V, without the UPS or an inverter your PC could crash.
That's the point of "cleaning up" the power
You get constant stable voltage
Does the PSU have an inverter?
Ok, so basically an UPS is additional clean up
Yes
That way the power supply doesn't risk having it's protections tripped or unstable output voltage causing instability
So how about the pure sine wave versus stepped or simulated part for the UPS
Yea, but as far as telling what UPS have what I'm confused AF.
Sounds like a normal UPS switches to stepped/modified anytime it switches to battery. Which people say can make sensitive electronics glitchy. But the only ones I see that advertise sine wave stuff for while on battery are significantly more expensive
Pure sine is mostly for more sensitive equipment and is more expensive.
PC hardware isn't THAT sensitive, unless you're running a server or something that needs 99.99999% reliability
Examples of times you want pure sine would be using high end audio equipment
A little ripple in the voltage can cause static or other issues
Ok so it must not be that big of a deal if APC is so lenient selling these UPS and offering such good coverage for your devices. It's a lifetime warranty for up to 150k for any connect devices.
But this is only while on battery back up that it's a concern right?
It would be a concern on main or backup power in that scenario
But for PC hardware it's overkill unless you're having major issues with your power
Reading that blog now too
Yea idk who the heck tripped me up even mentioning this crap lol...
Also keep in mind that typical applications for pure sine wave UPS systems involve the protection of critical server, network, medical and telecommunications equipment or electronic equipment that is particularly sensitive to input power, such as lab test equipment. Modified sine wave UPS systems typically protect PCs, home entertainment systems, A/V components and media centers.
So it's just decreased performance and efficiency while on stepped ... Not like gonna mess anything up..
Ok thanks I'm good to go now
Whoever was being harsh on what I currently have saying I need a pure sine wave is a butthead
Gatekeepers are like that sometimes
What's a gatekeeper lol
The kind of person that says "no you need the best or else it's trash and you're trash"
😆
So the 1500va one is 199$ currently at best buy. The cyber power one of same size is 169.99
The 1500va APC one was 180 last week. And when I read the boxes the cyber power looked to have quite lower run times on battery
The coverage on devices is way higher though than APC. And has the phone ports to charge your phone
LOL this one has customizable RGB may have to grab dat lmao
don’t be me and run a completely overkill rack setup for your PC
What's that? I can't hear you over my 14k rpm delta fans!
What’s a good price to pay for either 3060ti and/or 3070
3060 ti $500-600
3070 $600-700
Both should be doable with a little patience, the shortage is letting up
^ gpus popping up left and right these days
Newegg and Best Buy are dropping gpus like absolute crazy
Amazon recently had some good deals on GPUs also imo
3080 12gb for $1050 and a bunch of 3070tis for ~$750
3080 12gb is a scam perpetrated by nvidia. No way in hell that an extra 2gb of memory is worth $200.
Oh 100%
But considering every other one out there is $1300+, $1050 isn’t a bad deal
When amazon got deals for gpus you know things getting better
A bad deal after a sale is still a bad deal
Can anyone tell me what this Microsoft visual redistributable mess is that is clogging up one of my hard drives?
On there 8 times at different dates/times
Also doom appears to be taking up 89 gb in two diff places
Doom is literally in the apps and features folder taking up 89gb and then in the other folder it has Xbox games and shows doom taking up 89gb??
I'm looking to buy a server rack off amazon. I need it to be able to fit several of these. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JBG0LW0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 And the place I'm placing the server is 36 inches tall. Any suggestions?
Model Brand: Rosewill Model: RSV-R4100Details Chassis Type: Rackmount Form Factor: 4U Color: Black Case Material: SGCC 1.0 mm thickness Motherboard Compatibility: CEB (12" x 10.5") and ATX (12" x 9.6")Expansion External 5.25" Drive Bays: 2 Internal 3.5" Drive Bays: 6 Expansion Slots: 7Front Ports...
Says im using 476 gb total but really it seems it should be 89gb less
Is that what I’m supposed to download?
And I extract that?
You need to extract it all
yea
Then run the setup
So I extract the top two then run the setup
Looks like I just needed to extract the plugins then click on setup
Once I set it up do I need to do anything else
i dont think you do
Restart
Alright
m1 cash or m1 pro 200 monthly
Depends on what you need it for
Best way to wipe pc before I sell
that deletes file references but some data may be recoverable by someone who knows what they're doing
since the actual drive doesn't get overwritten
you can try using the built in windows full reset that overwrites the data, easiest solution, sometimes doesn't work properly (like it gets stuck) but worth trying
@restive halo
Is it a problem with my pc
I’m tryna play dying light but I’m getting that error code
I mean, how many people who knows that stuff exists?
Cant find much stuff on it
few enough that I personally don't bother, especially since I don't keep important stuff on my PCs usually
but if he's more security minded then he's allowed to be
I just answered his question
ye, true
Thank you
np, hope it works for you
Yeah but basically all high end AMD boards have flashback
well now you know that asrock apparently missed the memo
Badrock moment

Assrock
For a flip do you think that https://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails?ItemList=Combo.4491788 this build is fine or should I go with this combo?
System Builder - Intel Core i3-10105F, GeForce GTX 1060 3GB
why would you pair 3600mhz ram with b460?
