Hey everyone! First time builder (and poster here). I built my first PC back in November. Last November I bought a Gigabyte 1660 (non-Super/non-TI) and put it into my crappy 2013 Dell (I suppose my first intro into anything building). This year I decided to upgrade the whole thing. I bought a MSI PRO B450-A PRO MAX, AMD Ryzen 5 3600, Seasonic FOCUS GX-650, 650W 80+ Gold, G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) and Western Digital WD Blue SN550 NVMe M.2 2280 1TB PCI-Express 3.0 x4 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive. I've got it all put together and I've been using it for the last month but I keep running into this weird issue where my PC soft freezes (I can move my mouse, but slowly I can stop making things do "things" aka if I catch it fast enough, I can launch task manager, but if I don't catch it fast enough I can't click or do anything) and my only option is to hard reboot. The most likely time this happens is when I'm watching something like YouTube or Twitch. I play Destiny 2 and Minecraft and when playing Destiny 2 I've yet to encounter this issue. Only Minecraft because that's when I'll usually throw on a stream or a video. I've yet to see it happen when I don't have Chrome running a video (I also reinstalled Chrome). I've run memtest, chkdsk, updated my BIOS, checked all my drivers, everything seems to be fine in that regard. My coworker, who's admittedly more of a hardware guy than me, thinks the culprit may be the SSD. He suggests I clean install Windows 10 again and if that doesn't work I should look into getting a new SSD.

I guess two questions: 1) does that sounds like the right plan of attack to check? Or are there any other suggestions in checking to find the culprit(s)? 2) Do I just contact NewEgg and ask for a replacement? I talked to someone at the help desk and he directed me here.

Then right before I was about to go to bed ironically I noticed my Twitch stuttered and started buffering/dropping frames and Minecraft was doing the same thing. So it happened again. I guess my next step is to reinstall Windows and see if that was the issue? If that doesn't fix things, would you think it has to be an issue with my SSD? To start, look at if you plugged in front panel connectors correctly

You could also just jump that header if the front panel power button is just broken

Also, just make sure PSU is on, O is on, I is off

@ebon fulcrum once you made sure PSU is on, try unplugging the front panel connectors, and just take a screwdriver and jump the PWRBTN and GND

Also, while you're at it, check the rest of the power connectors are connected correctly

EPS12V (CPU power on the top left of the mobo), can often be forgotten
