Great, you can get into safe mode from the advanced repair menu there
Advanced startup
Select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings >Restart
Then once it reboots it will ask what mode to start in, select the number for safe mode with networking
The download this and run it, selecting all the boxes for your GPU brand https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
Here you can Download Display Driver Uninstaller, this Display Driver Uninstaller is a driver removal utility that can help you completely uninstall AMD/NVIDIA graphics card drivers and packages from your system, with...
ok
im trying to connect to internet
wiat a slight issue
when i try to connecvt to internet
it says you arent connected to any networks
and i cant look for my wiif
You can download it on another computer and copy it over with a usb drive
Or connect to the router with a cable
Do you have android phone or tablet? You can download on that
Plug it into the computer, tell the phone to connect for file transfer
i can get a usb drive in a minute
oh i see
does that work?
cause idk if you can download
Yeah, then the computer should see it as a drive you can browse
It would download to the "download" folder by default of course
Yo guys, Im on the struggle bus like never before with my latest build.
Here’s what’s going down:
- New mobo and cpu. Bios and windows installer would freeze. Tried rma the cpu and got another (r9 5900x). Also have 4 sticks of gskills ddr4 3200. They all worked fine in my previous build
- Got a new mobo. Top of the line this time - ROG crosshair 8 extreme
- Backlights came on but both case and onboard mobo power button would not turn on machine. Tried jumping psu with a paperclip jumper and psu jumped fine. Checked and double checked and trie checked manual with all necessary power plugins as well as connectors, as well as case power pin connector. Unplugged everything but mobo except pwm fans and power. No dice still.
- Switched to a new psu. Still same problem. Feel like Im out of options
Any help is greatly appreciated. I did try swapping dims as well.
Try booting with the barest minimum things attached. No hard drives / SSDs, nothing on the back except monitor and keyboard.
Literally just the board, power, cpu and cooler, and memory.
If your processor has integrated graphics take any dedicated gpu out, otherwise leave it in
Understood. I do have m.2 slotted in but other than that nothing
did you try a bios flashback? maybe it ships with a funky older bios
I've seen bad M.2 drives short boards before, leave it out
- Ryzen 9 5900x
- Rog crosshair viii extreme
- Gskillz f4-320016D
2 different boards, same problem
whoops
All other peripherals stripped. Thanks all. Gonna remove the m.2. The bios flash button is not lit but the cmos reset is. I did check their spec online and it should work with ryzen 9 5x series ootb
Could their m.2 heatsink removed cause grounding issues? The screws are shallow as heck
Probably not
Also I did omit the plastic (circular) riser shims on the Quantum Velocity waterblock I am running between the standoff mount screws and top of mobo. Could that cause an issue?
If there's poor contact between the cpu and cooler it can overheat in bios
Its never booted up
The contact is solid though
The pwms dont even lift off unless I jump it
M.2 is out still no dice
Go upvote my tech deal rn
wow i didnt even knew theres h570 chip out there lol
Basically just a b560
is h570 better than b560 ?
since 11400 cant oc any way it doesnt matter lol
Yeah
btw is 80C normal while rendering on 12900k ?
Sure, it's a chip that can get pretty hot
Lol very good deal not related to topic at all tho
Technically but arbitrary difference
and aio fans getting crazy loud
Think it'll hit higher clocks before throttle
I very slightly overclocked it
it just running at 55-60C while slight working with silent fans but while rendering it goes up to 80C with vey loud fans lol
What oc you running?
My dudes I figured it out. Omg. Faulty mobo had waterblock rubber gasket sticking to it. I forgot to take it off and attach between my new mobo and backplate (black rubber blended in). Shorted out the board
Glad you figured it out, sucks it shorted tho
Grounded out*
@fossil cedar hey... remember this build https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/7ZH3qp im starting buys pieces in advance because black Friday and the power supply is out of stock, do you know any alternative to this one that is not out of stock? in sell preferably but if they're arent its not a big deal.
For now, as long has you have the money, buy the GPU first, and once you get the GPU, should be no problem buying everything else
I say spending a few cad for a-gf over tx-m, at least for modular
Anyone had compat issues with asus boards and the western digital 800 series nvme m.2 drives?
More specifically I have a crosshair viii extreme. I ruled out compatibility by changing up the m.2 and realized the 2 lower ports arent working. Someone on reddit mentioned it can be changed in bios but didnt say how and I cant for the life of me get them to recognize in bios
To anyone who may find this, most asus boards require explicit bios config to share the pcie lanes. This was under advanced-onboard devices config-cpu pcie config mode
messing with my gpu fan curve, yall think 68C on full load 3070 fe is a good spot?
i mean sure lower is better but no point blasting 100% fans either
find a good balance of temp/noise for you
true, the fans got to 64% speed maybe ill lower it to 55 and try or somethin
oh its that high? sweet
to be clear you shouldn't aim for 92
but that's the limit nvidia sets
okay looks like it's 91 on 30 series
at least on mine
yeah if the noise at 68c is bothering you then you can absolutely tune it down you have plenty of thermal headroom left
dope ty for the info homie

Shared List https://newegg.io/f4f9aa4
This would be my first build, I’m trying to make something small enough I can take around with me. What do you guys think?
If you'll be carrying it I'd suggest the Revolt 3 case. It has a sturdy handle.
That SSD is completely overkill for gaming. P31 Gold is a better, cheaper option.
Don't pay full retail price for Windows
I'd also suggest the 3600c16 model of memory, it's only a few dollars more and very worth it
You're also paying more for the overclocking processor on a non-overclocking board, even the memory can't overclock (or XMP)
What would you recommend for a gpu
Something under 330mm, up to a 3070ti/6800
Is this a good gaming pc build? And I’m the video cards is missing I’m going to use my previous one which is 2gb https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/RTysy4
My suggestion https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bqFFBc
@potent portal thanks I but I just asked a for a Gpu recommendation I didn’t ask for you to redo the entire thing for me lol
It's fun to make lists though lol
Regardless I’ll look at it and see what interests me thanks you so much
gaming pc under 2000$ build pls 🙂
A v5 for a 11700k?
Yeah a better cooler is a good idea, slipped my mind
Yeah
Also isn't p31 a bit better than s5?
P31 2tb is like $205 rn, good price
Is a 1050ti better then the 570
No
can someone build me a parts list for 900usd
sure
what do you do?
like gaming or
but just to add-
atm there's an abs 2060 prebuilt for 1k
if you can stretch the budget that is
guess imma assume gaming
i'll slap 1050ti as placeholder
cause i rather suggest gettin like a gtx 980 used
If you guys had the budget like above average, building around a 12th gen Alder lake cpu? how will you build be like?
Man, there a aorus master 3080 ti on bestbuy right now, too bad that's not what I'm looking for.
define above average
and do i get to reuse my 3080?
2tb was out of stock when I looked
$2-4k without peripherals and monitor
The pc I just built they are now looking for a 1660 super. But as cheap as possible or a equivalent
no chance then
Figured
She is just going to have to use the 570 I gave her for now
16 gig Ram, 3700x, 570, 500g ssd, 2tb hd
$500
I could have got more. But she is on a budget and works for me.
Sick build
R9 5900x X R9 Fury X x2
wat
nice
Any 250$ graphics cards?
?
I found this
But idk if its good
i literally have a stack of those in one of my classrooms
literally the same model
bruh
I'd get a better CPU cooler if going 5800x btw
Txm is semi tho, literally 0 difference in terms of cables
hey can someone help me with a riser issue? ill be mid game and have my pc black screen then restart, i have looked at the dumpfile and its showing VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (116)
Attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed. this has only been a issue with the riser,
then the riser could be faulty
only happens once in a great while, but i also had this riser on my fiances pc and it never had a issue, ill try a new one tho
are you overclocking it?
I've typically gotten VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE from slightly unstable vram
@steep fern
are you using a PCIe 3 riser with a PCIe 4 GPU?
i'm running a budget meal pc - would 1050ti suffice in a build under $1000
You can do way better btw
well the current market in the philippines have shortages in gpu's and its costs way too much ahahahhaha
some markets would often price a 1660 around 500$
Ahh you said $ so kinda implies you were talking about the us
You might find some prebuilts with them if you have a look around
not overclocking it
oh i do base the product price on $ ehhehe my bad
running a 4.0 cable but the pcie slot is a 3.0
I see it's fine lol
Make sure it's set to pcie 3 mode
Oh wait nvm it has to be lol
Read in reverse
yea lol
you ran the card without the riser with no issues?
yea
then it's the riser
you can just get a 3.0 riser btw
if your slot is 3.0 it won't make a difference
i have 2 3.0s
test one then
honestly im at the point i just wanna get rid of the risers, but my card dosent fit my case without it
nothing a dremel can't fix ;)
watercooled lol so cant dremel the glass
like custom watercooling or aio liquid cooling?
custom
oh
have you tried connecting to another PCIe slot?
so weird
agreed, its really frusturating
id be inclined to agree with this advice then. PCIe 4 risers are finicky
not with that attitude
if the glass is broken it's no longer obstructing the graphics card
anyways risers are weird good luck
hey guys
I've only ever used one riser but it was with pretty old hardware that's happy as a clam on 3.0
I have a question
this is true lol, im thinking im just going to get a new case at this point, i legit hate risers and just want it gone
6700K + GTX 970
I got a 3070 rtx one for like 2.6k my friend said i though try to get a refund
ouch
no! NO NO NO NO!
its white
i paid less for my 3090
non-LHR $1250
I paid less for my entire 5800x + 3800c14 + non-LHR 3080 + 1TB gen 4 nvme + 2TB gen 3 nvme rig
after wasting $300 on decorations
anyone have any good 240hz 1080ps?
chances are whoever sold it to you for 2.6k is probably not going to try to be very helpful
what games do u play
yes
using a PCIe 3 on my X570 / 3070, set to PCIe 3 on motherboard, no issues
barely play games anymore
got a gf shortly after getting the 3080
gaming time went out the window
now I just mine on it instead
yeah having a 3.0 slot or setting the slot to 3.0 should avoid issues with 3.0 risers so idk why 3.0 risers won't even post with his 3.0 slot
wonder if the slot itself could be faulty
ah, but he tried the other slots too
yeah sounds like a faulty riser then
do you know if a 3090 with a waterblock will fit a lian li 011 xl without a riser?
3 faulty risers wow
yeah for sure
my 3080 looks small in my o11 non-XL lol
and it's not WB
i have the non xl and it is a tad to small
i have a front distro no issue im talking width towards glass
ahh
easy
the in and outlet are just a tad to far out
I haven't had a problem with that but I'm air cooled
you 100% on this?
lol
Waterblocked gpus become way smaller than air cooled
And o11 xl giant case
width
Should be plenty of room still lol
at this point im debating it
not a huge stretch of the imagination for water blocked card to be too wide
im actually surpised your gpu doesnt fit. how huge is the water block?
my power cables are already pressing against the glass
i dont think it will fit
have you tried it?
the case is designed for water cooling so it should have been designed with compatibility for water blocks in mind
i have tried with my current case, the non xl
flip.
i legit forgot what waterblock im using
nope by like a quarter inch
my tiny air cooled card is a happy camper
you got a pic?
let me look 1 sec
thats not an insignificant difference!
i have the bitspower block
is it for the founders edition?
google says o11 dynamic supports gpus up to 159mm wide
no the gaming trio
msi gaming trio
block is 155 wide
huh
weird it should fit
yeah idk at this point, i just remember the glass hitting
might have been a fitting
was the block 100%
Isn't the xl wider?
that just went passed that 4mm space
we're talking about the non xl right now
his card should fit in non xl
dunno why it doesn't
if the xl is wider im going to go with that
goodnight!
thanks for the help
Ahh i see
https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Systems/CORSAIR-VENGEANCE-Series-Gaming-PC/p/CS-9050011-NA
excluding the price, are the specs good?
Step up your game with a CORSAIR VENGEANCE a7200 Series Gaming PC, built with a full range of award-winning CORSAIR components, and powered by an AMD Ryzen™ 5000 Series CPU and NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 30 Series graphics.
Thing is you just can't ignore the price, but ehh cpu good, gpu good, case good, cpu cooling good, power supply and motherboard doesn't say, ram is fine although leaving performance on table by not going 3600cl16 for ryzen
for that price, I woiuld expect them to give you the capelix version of the cooler and have all the fans be the QL version
^
How does a evga 3060 compare to a 2070S?
Ahhh okay
2070 super is better
👍
You build pc's regularly or do it as a profession how long do you think it would take you ( ballpark) in hours to do this? Remove 360 radiator fans, add 6 fans to it, take apart gpu put into aio, mount it and 240 radiator, add 2 nvme, add lian li power extenders to mb and gpu, add 4 tube sleeves, wire management sync rgb? 10+ hours seem reasonable or exaggerated to do that?
Won't take nearly 10 hours, I'd say 2-3
Kind of thought that I was getting ripped off.
Someone said they would do it for you and it would take them 10 hours? They're tryna rip you off ye
" take apart gpu put into aio" - what does this mean?
I'd assume they were putting an aio on a gpu
Wum?
Think wrong reply
I don't even remember that lol
"add 4 tube sleeves" - and this?
Probably custom psu sleeves
that might take long
Different platform too
I mean yeah but still a great psu
yeah but im building soon but rn there a pretty pog reduction like the screen and i dont say no to economise some money
Does anyone have a build prepped and ready in their wish list that is cheap and cheerful, but can still run good for a few years? Would love to see what others are finding.
Budget?
Right now I've got a wishlist at less than $1000, no videocard. Friend said she's willing to spend $1500 for a PC, and I am trying to get best bang for buck for her. (We have a line on a videocard from another friend)
One sec
I got a link somewhere
Check this out on @Newegg: ABS Master Gaming PC - Intel i5 11400F - GeForce RTX 3060 - 16GB DDR4 3000MHz - 512GB Intel M.2 NVMe SSD https://www.newegg.com/abs-ali570/p/N82E16883360205?Item=N82E16883360205&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-83-360-205-_-11192021
I think there's a different one floating around for 1200$ tho
With a 10400f instead
that one's kinda meh
rather 10400f
with same ram 10400f is actually faster
11400f needs power limits to be unlocked to match
Any other suggestions, trying to get as many as possible.
is the 10400f actually faster?
weird, passmark and geekbench strongly say other wise
idk
must not translate to real performance I guess
techpowerup says something i say
synthetic benchmark is well
completely synthetic
so yeah you're right
tpu has actual review of actual workload so
Title (1080p Resolution) Core i5 11400F (FPS) Core i5 10400F (FPS)
Hitman 3 154 146
Watch Dogs Legion 115 113
Battlefield V 170 165
Far Cry New Dawn 124 117
Metro Exodus 185 174
Cyberpunk 2077 101 99
Assassin's Creed Valhalla 95 94
Red Dead Redemption 2 130 130
Nope not a good priced or balanced computer
what?
it's better than what you can do yourself
11400f isn't a weak cpu either
try doing 11400f+3060 build with those specs and everything yourself
have fun matching the price there
oh wait i looked at the link wrong-

Prebuilt or list?
I feel like there was an issue with their testing here with 10400 vs 11400 btw
List, I want to build it. Unless pre built is better.
Ehh depends how lucky you are with gpu but prebuilts are more realistic for 1k budget atm
Or, get a 3060 for <400$ first, and then come back
@stoic island actually bb have a cyberpower 6600xt build for 1k, idk how i feel about it tho
Perhaps
My computer keeps freezing on me out of no where?
Hello
I plug in a cable in my gpu and it says no signal
Anybody can help?
The fans are spinning
That's not bad tbh
Basically a 2070 super build
I have a line on a GPU that we wont have to buy off newegg, so whatever build, wouldn't need a GPU unless it's a slamming deal.
Better than 3060 right?
Slightly but close enough
Hey i am trying to update my HP Webcam and i don't know where to start
Only problem is build quality?
it's a crappy quality so i want to know if updating it will help the quality
But how much can you actually get it for?
What motherboard and cpu?
I think it's a 580, selling it for $280
Running any overclocks?
Budget
Ehhh
Not worth it over prebuilt
fair
I'd get this instead https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-legion-tower-5i-gaming-desktop-intel-core-i5-11400-8gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1660-super-256gb-ssd-1tb-hdd-raven-black/6476720.p?skuId=6476720
only been sent 1 prebuilt so far, and wasn't to much of a fan of the stuff in it..as the stuff i have in my wishlist is already better (aside from GPU)
Ehh actually only 8gb ram would want to upgrade that
hmm wonder if my company discount makes that Lenovo cheaper
What specs where they? And also gpu is what matters most in majority of games
This was the one i was sent earlier
I was looking for 32gb ram, 512gb SSD and 2 TB SATA drive for game storage.
That's good but 300$ over budget lol
Why 32gb ram?
future proof
Nah
I still run 16gb myself
gross
is there a good cheap set of 32? I wanna run a couple VMs
for coding
just Ubuntu
but my RAM dies
also in Affinity Photo
For what cpu?
10700
No point going 32gb ram, better spent on a better gpu
ok
then why be people putting 64gb in their machines and playing star dew valley ? 😛
Country?
Canada
Same reason people compare sizes?
Because they don't know how to money manage, and god forbid you don't have all 4 slots filled with rgb :p
i only get 4 slots just incase the 2 i am using faill... LOL
B560 and I7 11th gen
thanks
Wrong chat, this isn't build pics 😮
Asus prebuilt?
I know , I just need help so I sended pic
Yes
If you feel comfortable I'd try reseating the gpu, so taking it out and putting it back in, if you don't feel up to that, asus should be able to help you with fixing it themselves, beauty of buying a prebuilt
ohh that Lenovo Desktop has Windows 11...i dont think i can deploy that to a newbie PC person and feel good about it..lol
budget what? This is not about my PC, this is about my laptop
In my country Asus doesn't help unfortunately
They exist but not for helping
I will try taking it out
You can install win 10 on it lol, but win 11 is fine it's just slightly different
Budget for new webcam?
Well you can always return to the reseller as well (which i would personally recommend as it's gonna be hot and loud)
But sure try that first
Ok thanks
no
and minecraft if you play with mods and have chrome opened 😄
my laptop has a built-in webcam, and the camera is like a 240p quality, i wanted to update it to increase the quality
Can you downgrade from 11 to 10 for free, or do you have to buy a copy of 10?
Ahh i thought you said upgrade, I'd just google, hp model of your laptop drivers
Windows 7,8,10 and 11 keys are all identical
Ah so i can use the 11 key to install 10... sweet.
Yes but hold on there's a cyberpower pc that would be better
go on
only few times 32GB is recommended 😅
that looks similar to my build I've been carting together, just the Cyberpower has less Ram.
Only thing is still 8gb ram so you'll wanna grab a kit like this and sell/keep the other stick it comes with https://pcpartpicker.com/product/P4FKHx/silicon-power-16-gb-2-x-8-gb-ddr4-3200-cl16-memory-sp016gxlzu320bdaj5
Unless you're robbing the gpu or somehow getting it at msrp good luck getting a better pc for that price lol
So another $100 for that Cyberpower, get better ram, and add a 2TB SATA drive for game storage..and done
I mean the hdd you can add later but sure
yeah I can just order a HDD seperate and throw it in
4tb for little over $105 😛
No all good I fixed it
I am a diehard Seagate fan so..no ty 😛
Why lol that's the oddest company to be a fan of lol
I've never had a single issue with their drives, and i've been using them for 20+ years
dang ram price is still high
I'd actually get this instead https://pcpartpicker.com/product/gHNxFT/western-digital-wd-blue-2-tb-35-7200rpm-internal-hard-drive-wd20ezbx
WD is my least favorite.
Other people definitely have lol
I haven't had luck with WD, longest lasting one I've had is 2 years.
I finally lost my first 2TB Seagate I had, i've used it for 15 years. it died earlier this year.
You could have rma'd that btw lol
Oh nice you got it to boot ?
Ye
Yeah that graph thingy means nothing lol, I'd uninstall it tbh looks good though
So is it working now?
Yes
Then how did you get the display out?
Hello
Yes?
We have already done that
I’ve lost the link, sorry
Look for it
Uhhh lemme see
Question: If i was to buy 2 of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-Dominator-Optimised-Performance-Customisable/dp/B088MXX1GW/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=dominator%2Bram&qid=1637346882&sr=8-2&th=1, instead of buying the 4X8 kit. Would my ram still work normally. Or is there some compatibility issues? Im kinda confused on why the 4x8 kit is more expensive than getting 2, 2x8 kits?

I'd advise not doing that because 1. Technically 2 separate kits don't have to work together even if same kit, especially with corsair they use so many different dies and 2 because corsair is insanely overpriced and known to not run at xmp sometimes

I recommend just one of these
Its already 16 gigs
Ohh okay, so it would be better to pruchase them in the 4x8 kit
2x8
Is this a good gaming pc as I’m going to get them very soon in black Friday , Its mainly made for gaming, recording, editing (photoshop, premiere pro)like gaming meme videos maybe, etc.. and ofc work
What cpu do you have Ahkash?
Thats good, but i was considering the dominator for aesthetic purposes, going for an all white build
5600x
Ahh then you want 2x16 for 32gb
Easier on the imc

Ping me
Just get one of these @exotic river
They faster and better than the ones u linked
This might sound quite stupid, but is a 4x8 kit not reccomended. I kinda like the fact that it just fills all my available slots on my motherboard lol
it helps by splitting the load slightly although not sure how big of a difference between 2 vs 4 sticks
They are easier to run for the cpu
You can go 4x8 just I wouldnt
Most probably you wont have any issues

2 of those if you want all 4 slots filled
Oh okayy, and there wont be any compatability issues getting 2 of the same kits?
Haha okay thank you so much for your help :)
people don't understand Minecraft with mods 😄
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/NFjYVc
@dense sparrow
it's almost at 7.5GB of ram useagw
It appears you dont either
I have a modpack that uses 12gb ram
Heck I have a vanilla world that pulls 9gb
i know there are bigger ones..
too much redstone..
Not really
Why not the rmx psu?
Not at all rather
8 pounds more for an equally good but 750W psu
As compared to the 650w u had in
So little for more headroom always nice
Incase you make an upgrade in a few years
Hmm
Psus generally last many many years so investing in a good one is always nice :)
Wait a second
Thety have linked that mobo wrong
The elite ax page goes to a gaming x mobo page
@dense sparrow u need wifi?
as a professional PC builder, it heavily depends on which GPU, some of the older founder editions can be really difficult to take apart (proprietary screws, glue, etc) but with most modern AIBs I'd say less than 2 hours for the whole job for sure
10 hours is serious slacking and you should probably find someone else cause they're definitely just trying to overcharge you
Would take me about 3 hours tbh
Max
I'd personally charge $150 for all of that, dunno how much he is asking
Sippy lot faster tho
assuming it's a modern AIB GPU that's easy to take apart
like I can crack open my 3080 in less than 1 minute
@dense sparrow
Idk tbh now lol
Make a decision and let me know
Reason: Bad word usage
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or Ryzen 7 5800X
Ya it's on sale right now as well I just was looking at
5800x
Unless you buy used, 5800x/5600x
Yeah but whatever
It pretty much is, ever since they've been in stock consistently I haven't seen them over 400
Anyways, I'd go with either the 5800x or 5600x
Yeah they pretty much always been 380-400
3700x only if you buy used
Looking also at the wattage usage for proformance gain
Why does wattage matter to you much?
Do you alr have a psu?
Do you have a limit on the power you can use?
Ya but cheaper in price
Also please don't buy a 3700x new
If you're goingnto buy it buy used
Or just get a 5600x
I'm slightly for effecicany like double Power consumption for almost no gain for example
You're using tdp vs boost clock?
I never boosted before so I don't even over clock
Zen 3 is actually really efficient
I also live with my parents so I don't want to over kill there bill 😅
A few watts doesn't hurt anyone
It adds up over time
Keep in mind it takes 1000 watts to make a increase of like maybe 10 cents max
It doesn't really
Cause if you do a render or something, your power draw is about equal
5800x uses more but is faster
3700x uses less per minute but takes longer
So overall in the end they're pretty close
I don't render. Just games but have muliply app open as well
A 5800x won't really use much more power than a 3700x in the same task if you're GPU bottlenecked
Or if you're CPU bottlenecked you'll use a lil more power but have better fps
Just harder to cool
5800x needs something like a 280mm freezer ii
Not too big of a deal if you leave it stock and are GPU bottlenecked
If you want those boost clocks it does
If you're GPU bottlenecked tho then nah
I only have a rx470 so I won't be buying a gpu for a while
And there are always games where gpu bottleneck isnt a thing
Like csgo
Only losers play csgo, no cap
But I do need a new computer because a lot of newer bigger games just crash on pc all the time now
Cpu bottle necking
CPU bottlenecking does not cause games to crash
your issue is surely something else
Yeah
Check drivers and stuff
And if you have any overclocks they may be the cause
Hmm
I stuck 2 3070s with an 8 year old quad core
This is my cpu buy the way
ur forgetting
That's what I'm thinking the cause even lower the graphics on my rx 470 I still have crashes
it's the black edition
well
Like slime rancher for example
you can pair a 3090 with a 15 year old single core using pcie to pci adapter
and still won't crash
CPU bottleneck doesn't cause crash
just bad performance
Then possibly psu? I'll have yo check later then minecraft and smaller games works fine maybe its the rx470 but anyways I have to leave for work bye
have fun lol
Poggers #tech-deals it
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/NqcZkX ayo im ready to start buying right?
Change that cooler
Its a scam
Link leads to a b550 gaming x
Not elite
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/GJsbF8 I'd do this
It's not a scam but shame probs just misplay on pcpps part
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/dcdj3Z actually this sorry
Mistook cooler
yeah but the screen u choose is brg and ive seen what is do to text and i dont like it
Your choice i suppose, but i wouldn't change anything else really, just an fyi you send a list without storage so i assume you already have some?
ye the samsung evo thing 1tb
the other power supply was not powerful enough?
I wouldn't run a 6800xt on a 650w
it was 750
wait I don't understand
it's a good monitor for the price
someone show me this
and also and said that its not that of a big deal but its can be a little annoying
also a lot of comment said that the monitor hard big ghosting issue
Still
I'd rather not push it, if you're getting that high end of a card
ok
They probably didn't enable cleartype on bgr
From rtings testing, 125% scaling cleartype to bgr vs cleartype off on M27q:
https://i.rtings.com/assets/pages/UEFsOgdc/bgr-125-cleartype-bgr-large.jpg
https://i.rtings.com/assets/pages/UEFsOgdc/bgr-125-cleartype-off-large.jpg
can u enable on any bgr monitor?
Yes, it's a windows feature
Images sourced from here
https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/gigabyte/m27q
rtings is sweeet
now if only they could review Sony new budget earbuds
Rtings audio testing scoring system bad though
and also the i5 12600k is less costly and better than the 7 5800x so it would be smarter to get the i5?
Frequency response charts, great
Rest of review, bad
o
Ddr5 expensive and annoying
Who cares how you want to rate the plastic's build quality >:p
u need ddr5 for the 12600k?
I'm aware. But it doesn't apply to every program and screws you over if you ever get a secondary monitor.
(a random guy when i asked about the fact that u can enable cleartype on bgr, so the other motnitor i choose would be more a safe choice right?)
you can just clear type the other monitor separately?
'In most instances, text clarity is minimally impacted and shouldn't be an issue for most people.'
but in the end its your choice
Only the CPU is, the platform cost, cpu mobo and cooler is the same/more if you choose to go ddr5(i wouldn't like 0 stock)
I stuck with DDR4 when I chose my Z690 board. Don't feel like spending more when I don't need to.
Depends on usage, I suppose. I only use my PC for games and nothing competitive at that.
There's barely any difference between DDR4 and DDR5 right now anyway unless you get a $600+ kit
and for a 5800x cooler is a noctua good?
NH D15? Yes
Wasn't fully aware of that. Then again, I wanted to continue using the kit I already have. I do my stuff piecemeal XD
Yeah the only way to get more than 5% improvement is to buy a kit rated for 6000+ with as tight timings as you can get. Otherwise a DDR4 3200c14 kit will be just as good or better in some cases.
So DDR5 is definitely a problem for future me~ Much obliged.
Or just get the Arctic liquid freezer for cheaper
It's just how it is with the first gen on a new platform. The first runs of the new standard are always about as good as a good kit from the old.
I'm holding off until there's 8000c40 kits
Obscene numbers. Makes sense to me, though in my case it'll be when it becomes (if ever) necessary for what I do.
I don't think it'll be too long until those speeds are available. Consider that there's currently DDR4 rated at 5400c19
Can someone help me out? I need a new cpu and motherboard for my pc. I have a rtx 2060 and want to know what pairs out well with it.
10400 and some B560 board that isn't asrock
Like 10400K?
There's no K for 10400, just F (no iGPU) and the regular
I was thinking of going i5-11600K
Going any higher than 10400 with a 2060 is kinda pointless, and you can always upgrade later if you get a better gpu
Anything is better than my cpu of an i7-6700K. It keeps hitting max load
You can put more money in and get 11600k and z590 (again, no asrock) and then you'll be set for when you get a better gpu down the road
I was only thinking going 11600K if I can find a 30 series card down the road that isn’t two or three times more the actual cost
Im giving myself at least a 500$ budget for a new cpu and motherboard
That would make sense in that case. A 3070 ti can usually be found close to msrp.
Well, relatively speaking
yeah im gonna get https://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/dell-27-gaming-monitor-s2721dgf/apd/210-axeh/monitors-monitor-accessories#ratings_section
just to be sure
as long as you're comfortable with it
Tbf the h570/b560 pro4's are fine, h570 pro4 is 95$ actually
Yeah? No crap vrm or bad default power limit?
It's fine for a 65w nothing special afaik
But that's all a b560/h570 should be
What about an i5-11600K with an ASUS TUF Gaming Z590-Plus WiFi 6 LGA ATX Gaming Motherboard?
Well every other brand defaults to increased power limits and longer tau periods
Perfect
True not too sure on the tau but vrms is fine
I'd personally grab the gigabyte ud (ac) instead as it's a good bit cheaper btw
But tuf also nice
I can get both on Amazon for 468.71$ on Amazon
FOR A MOTHERBOARD?
The motherboard and cpu combined
Usd? The z590 ud should be cheaper? You in us or Canada?
The Z590 is 247.72$
170$
That's way too much if you're talking usd? Or are you talking cad ?
Well I ended up just running my case with no side panel for the time being
usd
Why are over half the reviews on it so bad?
User reviews mean little ro nothing
If you mean Amazon reviews those don't matter
seems like a few ppl got a doa mobo
and some ppl bought from a third party and got a used one
Yeah and doa can happen
ppl may write a bad review
just gotta consider how slim chances of doa are
the ppl who are satisfied most likely wont even write a review
And they happen on all electronics
yeah
I've rated products good star wise but never wrote a review
Yeah same
Hey should I buy a refurbished gaming pc?
Depends
no lol
Usually not but once in a blue moon it can be worth
Like the ones on new egg?
Id look for an open box instead to save money
I only buy refurbished if it's from the retailer direct or from the manufacturer direct
Yeah
Oh ok
This^
Have you ordered from tecdale?
No
Also if I buy a refurbished pc is ddr3 or 4 good?
Why would you buy ddr3 in 2021?
So for right at 400$usd I can get an i5-11600K and the Gigabyte z590 aorus elite ax ATX for right at 400$
👌
Idk I don’t really know a lot about computer parts
No CPU from the last 8? years or so uses ddr3 so yeah
At ARCTIC, we are proud of our completely new all-in-one CPU water cooler series. For the Liquid Freezer II Series, we have used our experience in CPU water cooling to develop a completely new compact water cooling pump. The new pump of the Liquid Freezer II Series ensures an ideal ratio of high ...
??
its good
but like those model dont make a huge dif? like i can still use the 240 on my 5800x and be serene for 2k gaming
Yeah, it'll be fine with the 240mm as long as you're not doing high power overclocking
If you want to push the boost clocks with PBO the 280mm is good
Well I have good news, there's a single toggle you can check that will let it automatically boost higher. Just set precision boost overdrive to enabled.
it gives more fps or na?
It can in games that rely more on cpu, but it'll help keep the minimum frame rate higher more importantly so it has less frame drops
Not a need, but it's annoying that you can't get it in case it gets better over the next year
but even with the setup im gonna get im gonna be able to run almost all game for the next 5 year right?
"Future proof" isn't really a thing because we don't know how demanding games will be in 5 years. It's about as good as it gets for current tech though.
@hollow mulch What about that 3060 PC?
idk, imma tryna link a pre-built because I can't camp a microcenter for a gpu
Ah gotcha, I recommend ABS from Newegg instead, a lot cheaper
ok thanks
Hi guys is there an alternative to a cpu cooler for 12th gen because the lian li galahad 360 is not compatible unless you get a bracket, and all the brackets are sold out
Some motherboards are drilled for LGA1200 mounting right?
Wait, they're selling the brackets? I thought all the brands were giving them away
I'd contact their support and ask
At any rate the arctic liquid freezer II should come with the bracket, they have for months now
Not sure what brand board you have but ASUS have all of their boards drilled for LGA1200 mounting also
Smart move on their part I think, very convenient
Yeah looks like it was just ASUS who did this
Might not get you the best mount possible but it'll work
Hm so should I wait for the lga1700 coolers? It’s prob going to be Corsair h100 or 150
idk if this is the place to ask, but im not great with computer builds or what is decent and whatnot, is there any chance someone could build me a pc or point me in the right direction to buy one, for something like 800-1300$
i play games mostly if that matters
Is a intel core i3 10100F cpu good for gaming?
its a great value option yeah
depends on your definition of "good"
like can it run games good?
My Pentium 4 3ghz can run games good, I just wouldn't recommend it for any made in the past ~20 years. What are you planning on playing
10100F is ok as stopgap solution
minecraft and maybe gta 5
are u asking me what im playing? Maybe wow, and warframe
no not u
someone else
i suggest looking for abs prebuilts on newegg
like ones with 3060
should fit your budget
16gb
Yeah, 10100f should be perfectly fine with those
ok thats good then
ok thanks,
Yeah looks like the LGA1700 mounting bracket is difficult to find for the 12th gen CPU coolers here in Canada... not sure what to do...
I would do 12600K
The first one
I am building my own computer and I am going with Ryzen for cpu. I might buy a Ryzen 7 or a 9? There is a couple on sale. If I buy a 7 I want to know what motherboard will be expandable to Ryzen 9 with the 16 core capability. Its nice to get something on sale but I want to know my options. Could someone help me out?
sorry for the paragraph
What's your budget to start with, and do you need any special features?
The vast majority of people don't need ryzen 9. More cores does not equal more gaming performance.
ah thanks
Usually a 5 is plenty for both unless you going for part work station as well
for the entire computer?
yes
Do you need a list for the whole thing or just the cpu/mobo like you said?
that's nice
i was thinking a lower ryzen
i would do 12600k myself
kind of a whole list
it's like as good as r7 5800x
Do you have a gpu yet?
im kinda lost but i wanted to get stuff while on sale
That's the first thing to get, and the hardest
best bet for value is prebuilt tbh these days
yeaa
It takes some people 6+ months to get the gpu they want without paying double
That one's not really worth the price
ah
Maybe $1500
What kind of games, and do you need a monitor too?
but the games i play currently arent really demanding
yeah
but im not gonna be running them on max really
i would if i could but
i cant
the games i play currently are bloons td6, minecraft, terraria, minecraft dungeons, roblox (lol), tabs, rarely csgo, and thats pretty much it
but i wanted higher end games
also my computer has been having alot of issues starting since dungeons
You could customize this on build redux for $1800
ooh that's nice
is there a case in there?
Yeah it's the TD500
thanks👍👍
hate to bother you guys but i was having many issues
Oh this was cad
thats good to hear
yeah
oh thank youu
it's canadian newegg site
im using cad
so cad
i appreciate all the help
im new to this but wanted to try
kinda expected some people to laugh at the fact that im such an amateur
eh
but this helped
we all start off somewhere
yeah
so don't worry
computer breaking so i needed a new one
Some discord channels you'll immediately get people like "oh eww prebuilt don't touch that" but not here
I was on the US site when I put that together
I don't know if they even do canada
hmm ill check
it always sold out
