bruh
I9 11900k
better
much better
intel = gaming
amd = editing
except new i9 12th gen
which is coming
eh
What
11900k is so inefficient
5900x will beat 11900k in most games
@charred quail what do you do? What software?
Prob won't need more than 32gb of ram then
thats not true
ok in some games yes
like multi-cores games AMD its a beast
at single-cores games Intel its better
What
Can someone recommend a fully modular 850w psu under $120
The msi one goes in stock on Sept 8th i think
and? that's in 7 days
I need a psu kinda soon
revo d.f. then
I mean, there are places where the 6c12t 5600x will beat the 11900k
that's why i bought my 5900x
that's gaming
literally gaming lmao
11900k is meh value even for games
intel isn't even the best for gaming anymore
it changed
amd now is on par
or better
wait until 12th gen
ye
16 cores
it's not worth buying 11th gen i9 at all
^
wanna take a look at my build?
Sure
you could buy cheap win keys from ebay, just to add
blender
the problems i see with build are ram and ssd
premier pro
why gotta people keep going corsair, jeez
imma fix that build
really weird storage layout
I'll edit it too
what me>?
mr1111 is fixing it for you
Oh amazing
@charred quail need wifi or no
this is mine https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2rvPwz
I want wired but I don't wanna game in the laundry room
that's one good build
n7 doesn't have wireless iirc, I'll just change board
:p
N7 inside a nzxt case look amazing and makes me drol
yes
aorus elite ax is cheaper by 50$ anyways
I disagree soooooooo aorus elite ax going in for now
I'll look at it
yeah mobo is fine to swap later i suppose
other glaring issues are ram, ssd and probably psu
What is that
good ssd
Owo
@charred quail how much storage do you actually need
I do lol
Reason: Bad word usage
Oops
Ssd would rather
I don't wanna wait ages for a hard drive to do move files like I do now
oh well
I have a 5k budget for a pc 4k would be nice but eh
it's your money
are you set on the case? if so, why?
Ohhh that's sexy
or td500 mesh
Oh nice it finally embeds itself
and p500a digital does come with rgb fans in the front
I'm considering that p500a
This is my p500a
I see alot if pictures where the GPU is mounted sideways owo
ye
vert mount is optional
it's good in p500a afaik, since there's enough space between the side panel and where the card would be
according to vintage, who did vert mount the card in that image
its pretty expensive
it's like a 50$ bracket iirc
I payed $120
really?
for my case
Love lil RGB line accent
ye
p sure this is the one that would work for p500a
https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-VGPUKT_02-Universal-Vertical-Pci/dp/B07MW73HTJ/
Anyone know how to disable ig
IG? You'll need to be more specific, that stands for like 8 different things
instagram?
oh yea I forgot to finish making that list
@charred quail
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/YmrzJf
don't even remember if I was finished with it
oh well
p31 is at the bottom because pcpp is dumb
western digital huh?
ye
is it better or doesnt it matter
yo
RGB boost you PC
no
yes
I may want a 6tb buy I'm unsure if that will start to make speeds slower
I sorta want a beefy ssd for storage and a main one for important stuff to keep my pc booting fasr
Oh u did lol
I'll be honest I'll build this in 2.5 months
But if a 3090 super comes out I'm getting it
??
just buy a 7200rpm hdd 6tb
????
7200rpm is what I have now
they do like 250mb write and 300 read
at least mine does
Buying a high capacity ssd doesn't mean ur getting ssd speeds
Reason: Bad word usage
That wasn't bad but okay
whatya say?
Just talking about my SSD time vs HDD
I have 2x ssds
And a 2tb had 7200rpm
Takes forever to interact with it
Ssd moves from the other quick
Have a bunch of files that need to be moved to an SSD quick? Forget it
Ah yes too much for my SSDs toss it in the HDD now wait 4 hrs for the 64 gb program to move

So I wanted a 2tb ssd and a massive 4 for storage
Make things easy and not have 2x 512gb ssd and 2tb HDD
SSD is better because there's no seek time, making random i/o performance much higher. On a HDD you need to wait for the read arm to seek to the right spot to read the data.
HDD is good still for mass storage that doesn't need that boost in i/o
You can always put those drives into raid 0 and it'll act like a 1tb drive with almost double speed
You just need the driver ready before you install windows into the volume
Windows has a software raid thing too, so you don't need to mess with bios
Raid 0 bad for reliability tho
Oof
One drive fail you lose everything
Not much difference in modern drives, I'd only avoid it for mission critical systems
But windows storage spaces might be fun
I just don't like how one drive failing means you losing all data on all drives that's in raid 0
And well, also, mix matched speeds
Raid 0 a HDD and a SSD and whatever happens to be stored on the SSD goes fast, and whatever happens on the HDD is still going to be slow
It would go almost double the speed of the slower drive
It doesn't matter if it's stored mostly on the slower drive
Raid 0 can't make a drive read faster
It's just you might be reading at the max speed of both drives
Mr 111
How did you make my dream build so cheap lol
It was almost 5k when I made it now its 3
We do this a lot lol
I have been asked MANY times for a tutorial on how to make the custom sensor panel found in Phil's PC, and now my latest gaming rig... well, today we show you how!
Learn more about the Viewsonic Elite XG270QG and see current price at https://amzn.to/37fXdtZ
Recommended Raspberry Pi Panels for this mod
5" Panel - https://amzn.to/386roXY
7" Pan...
lemme find bleach's image
That setup is cheaper than the difference in cost going to a kraken
found it
Wow I can hide the little panel in the power supply hole
Yep, and it's basically just a small display so you can put whatever you want on screen
Even p0rn?
Technically nothing would stop you
Ahh I need to deal with raspberry pi tho
The pi just makes it easier, you can accomplish the same thing with just a small screen with hdmi
Wait can I put one between the power supply and the hole?
Or too thin?
Pi makes it easier?
I never got the hang of pi
The pi handles power and data, you don't really need it but it makes it easier once you program it
What ever you want it too
It's a tiny computer basically
It's just a small single board computer
You can just plug the screen straight into your GPU and it'll show up as a second monitor, then you can drag some monitoring program to that screen
Or watch youtube on it lol
@charred quail it's basically a computer on a board the size of a playing card
I use one for a pi hole
Basically network ad blocker
there are also some displays you can use usb for
Ppl make emulator boxes with them
Ya I've seen ones that you can get the pin out adapter USB to your mobo
I've seen handheld ones that look like retro consoles, they're pretty versatile
Cablemod? That's a company
Compared to sata? It's not worth it for gaming in many cases, but overall system responsiveness is better on nvme
o h ohh
Get nvme gen 4.0 m.2 4tb
i got a 4tb SSD
PCIe 4.0 SSDs are not worth the price for their performance at all for gaming,.
so for saving/transferring big files(such as CAD files) would be a pretty good reason to get m.2's for their speed?
Yes
or should i get the Nani Ips
Anyone know a good mobo for 5600x?
Hard to tell if trolling or just joking
Is i5-11600K good for 2080 super Asus trix?
Yes
Aight then I was right
What's the downside for motherboard MSI Z590-A PRO?
Imma use it for i5-11600k with 2080 super Asus trix.
@charred quail M27q is great
😄
@little osprey what are you going to do with it?
With?
4k seems like alot for less Fps
If u meant the setup then gaming, streaming.
only 'downside' is no wifi but doesnt matter as ull be usig ethernet
No thunderbolt port is probably the only down side I can see
I'm pretty sure using ethernet is better than wifi
Looks good overall
it is
Much faster and more stable yeah
just if u didnt have ethernet it would be bad to get this
i mean even if u didnt have ethernet u could still get a wifi card tbh
I prefer ethernet.
yh
BTW how much is wifi card?
mr1111 can u look at this ram? i like it a lil more
That's surprisingly cheap.
Can I post the whole setup here I got planned for? Just wanna know if that's good.
For just streaming and gaming, no real downside to z590-a pro
Sorry i ran out of power yesterday
2080 super Asus trix
Z Trident neo 32x2
i5-11600k
Noctua NH-D15S
750W 80+ gold
MSI Z590-a pro
Samsung 970 EVO plus
Deepcool MATREXX
That's the setup I'm after rn. Got the gpu and ram already.
Cause I got it as bday gift
Case seems underwhelming
@stoic island i love it ty
It's bad?
Yeah it's really basic on features, but usable
Would grab like td500 mesh kinda case
Deepcool MATREXX 50 ADD-RGB 4F, Black, Tempered Glass / the full name of it
Chieftec Polaris 750w is okay but you could do better
MSI A-GF 750w has been p cheap recently
Aight lemme check on it rq.
Do you plan on OCing the cpu at all?
Because d15s feels like it'll prob be inadequate if you try to oc a 11600k
Stock it'll prob be fine
I don't really want to OC it.
Couldn't find it on any stores, local ones that is.
I got all the items from the stores in my city.
Are you in the US?
750/850w
Shii that's 140€
Sad, should be like 100/110 euros
That reminds me, what about Corsair tx-m
Or RMx
Lemme check
And Phanteks amp
126€ for 750w
damn after seeing how multiplayer games reach 4k 144hz really easy it makes me sad
maybe with a 3080ti i should get a 4k monitor
4k do be demanding
idk
-. -
Depends on the game, older ones like cs:go are so low in requirements it's easy to get stupid high frame rate
Better to get 1440p if you want high refresh still
Fps sometimes can lie xD
wtf? so I got the final thumb nut in the mail today, threw it on and my temps are 10-20 degrees lower. it use to idle at 48-56 with a socket temp of 34, now the cpu is idle at 30-35 with a socket temp of 23-24. I didnt think that 1 thumb nut made a difference like that or I would have called arctic day one
Depending on the game yeah, but there's fps monitors built into the video kernel you can use
I told you, all about that even mounting pressure lol
Good you got it fixed now
turns out arctics liquid freezer is better than I thought, I appreciate the heads up. had I gone on 4-5 years like the last build, this one mightve blew up like the last one lol
I dont see why it wouldnt be, I have the same thing but just vengence LPX from corsair. same CL16 and DDR4-3600. I sit around 52%-60% ram usage when gaming and streaming, or when doing other things. not a bad choice at all
wanna make sure that buying them like thats okay or if i need to bundle em
I bought 2 separate 16gb kits and it works fine, my best friend bought a 16gb kit and 2 months later bought another and his is fine too
sweet
It's hit or miss, not 100% that it'll work even if it's the same model of memory because they might use a different die
Crucial uses their own dies so it's more likely to work than other brands at least
frost, you arent getting any hard drives, just solid states?
I am not getting any hard drives aswell, is that a bad move?
All SSD builds are fine if it's in the budget
I was told to have at least 2 tb HDD to 1tb SSD
HDD is just better for large amounts of storage for cheap
I'll get myself 1tb if ssd and that's ab it.
and like fal said it was cheap
Pretty sure 8GB ballistix is most likely rev e
I personally have 2 4tb HDDs, 1 1tb HDD, 250gb SSD, 500gb SSD, and a 2tb SSD.
I use a 4tb HDD for general storage and downloading to, and other small things.
I use the 250gb SSD as a boot partition.
the 2TB SSD for games like tarkov, pubg, and sea of thieves. (Rust and some others havent been redownloaded yet)
the 500gb SSD I just use for programs like discord and things as it was salvaged from my last build.
I use the second 4TB HDD for unity game making, scripting and other projects that I am associated with.
and then lastly the 1tb is juts videos, clips and videos ready to upload. this drive was also salvaged from my last build.
(This is what I personally chose) the one joy I find in computers is everyone can have them in their own personally config. only barrier is money.
I know that, I just havent downloaded it again, I had it on the SSD on my old system before the PSU took the motherboard, ram, cpu and other parts with it in a surge
Rip.
I load fallout 4 off my ssd. I forgot the game was supposed to have long load times for a bit lol.
I havent gotten around to installing half of my steam library yet, couldnt be bothered until the internet speed upgrade on the 9th. it typically takes 2 days to download 60gb games for me right now
Make sure you budget in a good surge protector this time 😉
UwU I may need to try that....
I had a surge protector before, but the PSU tooks its self out and everything else.
I hate my internet, it's like 80mb/s when I don't need it, and it's like 20mb/s when I do need it
Sometimes it just decides to disappear for 6hours
The issue there is when you need it, so does everyone else. Peak times are slower.
Im paying for 50mb/s now and only getting 1-5mb/s when I dont need it and less than 1mb/s when I do. they are upgrading these lines to 100mb/s and say it will be more stable but we will see
On the days I don't feel like playing games it always is high, but when I do want to play games it's just slow.
I'm paying for 100mb/s
you can play for speeds now? xD sorry I know what you meant
my build is an intel i9 10900k paired with an msi z490 gaming carbon pro or whatever it’s called, 64 gigs of gskill trident z royal ddr4-3600, and 4tb of samsung 860 evos, i’m still trying to get my hands on an rtx3080 (or ti) ftw3 or an aorus xtreme
Damn autocorrect
I got sick of Xfinity giving me 400 download and only 10 mb upload, total BS. I switched to t-mobile home internet and I pay half what I paid before for 200/50 speed.
How much do u pay for 400mb/s?
the place im moving to has 940mb/s for $60/month your first year then $80 a month after that
If there was any other option I would have taken it. Xfinity has a monopoly over the cable lines here and there's no fiber in my complex.
940mb/s reality 200mb/s take it or leave it.
If it's fiber internet you really do get close to 1gb speeds, or better if you use your own modem
I recommended a modem to a buddy and he went from 1gb to 1.2gb speed, and better upload
Tbh I wouldn't need that much upload or download xD
What modem
Except maybe for uploading.
I need a new modem but idk which one to get cause i wanna get better uploads than 10mbps of unstable upload
The place I’m moving to has fiber optic
Oh net gear, I have heard they are really good
He has fiber connection with coax passthrough so a cable modem
I average about 1.2TB
Around 500gbs per week
Bruh where do u even use all that on
Videos to upload, discord stream source at 60fps, gaming, file transfers and game downloads
The kids like to stream from disney+ lol
File transfers to send to someone else
And sending files over 380gbs can be hefty
you guys only average 1tb or less than a tb???? I average 3.4-4tb per line on 2 lines
Also depends on the compression used by the source
Yeah
Damn so my wifi won't be even allowing me to stream
Rip
I mean 50mb/s stable is fine for streaming right?
G'night
Learn more about T-Mobile's fast, unlimited in-home Internet service plan. With the LTE WiFi gateway, your wireless T-Mobile experience just got a whole lot better.
$50 a month, period. Taxes and all.
It's slightly higher latency than cable (not noticeable for me) and upload is much faster than xfi
Best result I got from speedtest was 180/50 on 4G. Results may vary by region. 5G is coming soon, I'm on the waitlist.
What speeds you get for that?
Ohh nvm
180/50 on 4g ;-;
We get like 20 down
tbh, I believe my wifi plan at home only promises 400/40, but I get like 400/100
40 up is still 4x what I was promised, and I only got like 8 lol
I get 12 up on my internet
Yikes. You'd save money and get better speeds then.
Oof
You should probably check for local IPs tho
sad
I would tell you the local IP I have but this IP literally only serves like 2 cities soooo
might still be worth it for you to look around to see if you have any other options
We had an awesome local ISP before but they got bought by "Consolidated Communications", which was as bad as the name sounds. Reliability and speed tanked.
have you used them? they offer fiber optic 940/940 in the area I am moving too. Is at&t any good?
Fiber service is totally different lines from cable service
so google fiber is close but at&t doesnt offer fiber for you??
What do they charge there?
Only options I have are Xfi or DSL, so t-mobile was a godsend
Their price here is $60 a month for the first year then $80 a month after
Rip
They have cheaper plans too but I would most likely go with there best as it’s cheaper than 1 let alone both of my lines at 50mbs
sad
Sign up for the waitlist at least, they'll invite you when it's ready
Does anyone know what’s the best fan config for an aio is push /pull
I currently have dsl but when we move we would have fiber, would the upload speed be more stable than dsl?
I’m currently running pull but I’m thing push pull would be far better
Push pull barely helps on anything that's not crazy
Look at the ek-aio elite for example, it barely does any better than the original ek-aio
But if you have like 80mm thick 480mm rad, push pull might help
The rad was to thick to mount up top so I have 6 intakes and 4 exhaust
I have the back as intake, the front as intake and the AIO in the top with 3 fans as exhaust....
With a back intake you'll be sucking in the air that the GPU is blowing out the back
The fans on the GPU blow air into the GPU, and it blows out the sides so some of it goes out the back of the case
Recommendations for eBay GPUs under £100?
Heat also just radiates
Not ebay, that's my best recommendation. Anything cheap is usually a scam.
Where do I get cheap GPUs under £100 then
Local stuff like facebook market or whatever you have locally with a used marketplace
Depends on the performance you want gt 1030 you can sometimes get them on newegg but ur stuck at 720p low
Nah no 1030s
my dad wants a pc for doing pretty much basic web things, microsoft word, etc. budget of around $300-$350? also no need for a gpu, so intel is most likely the way to go
I recently grabbed a 980ti on Facebook marketplace for my girlfriends rig
It was only 350
You might get lucky and find a 960 around that 100 pound price
And the only thing really on Facebook are gt 710s
ayy
I think the days off 100 good GPUs are done
Back to amazon/eBay
Did you try Craigslist
CEX
8600 gt for 25 p
25 pounds or pence?
cause it's worth about 25 pence
your old 1050ti was about 60 times faster
and 8600 GT doesn't support modern APIs
512MB GDDR3
doesn't even have a niche of being a good display output card like 4x hdmi gt 710 or dvi hdmi dp gt 710
has 2x dvi and 1 s-video lol
can't expect much from a 14 year old card
could anyone help me verify if a particular botherboard would be compatible with a CPU that i have?
i have a 9th gen i7 processor and want to see if this motherboard would be compatible with it
No, you would need a Z390 motherboard
any b365 or z390 motherboard will be able to run a 9th gen CPU out of the box
h310, b360, z370 can run 9th gen cpus as well but may require bios updates
however, weaker/lower end motherboards (including some z370 and z390) will limit the full potential of some higher end chips
whether it's overclocking or just unlocking power limits and letting the stock boost algorithm do its thing
I have a question my girlfriend and I have a his and hers style pc setup. And I was wondering what the best way for discord chat would be . We are in the same discord with are friends but we get audio interference would it be better to put a boom mic in the corner and run off that instead of us both using our headsets to talk
Noise cancelling foam on the wall behind your PCs. You don't need to cover the whole wall, just a few square feet to stop most of the echo.
Yeah I was thinking that it’s just we are so close and she come threw loud and clear on my mic and me on hers
I was thinking nvidia broadcast might drown it out
Personally I use push to talk, but with you both being so close together maybe a boom mic isn't a terrible idea. It won't be the best audio quality but as long as your team can understand you both clearly shouldn't be a problem.
my dad wants a pc for doing pretty much basic web things, microsoft word, etc. budget of around $300-$350? also no need for a gpu, so intel is most likely the way to go.
well you said it yourself, buy some cheap intel cpu with igpu and pair it with a platform that'll boot it
nothing fancy needed
look into the rosewill srm-01b-450, pretty nice office pc case with a usable included 450w psu

is my favorite ssd
I would go 16gb for ram
yes
I have this ssd
can you mix 3600mhz ram with 2400mhz ram
no
o o f
No it will slow the faster one down
unless you want shite performance
it would be stuck to 2400
my old pc has that
Then your faster ram has been slowed down
also @little osprey you might want to buy a pc when the 12th gen intel comes out because of ddr5

4 channel
typing i see
that doesnt exist
I almost have enough girls new pc but the gpu..
^^^^^what you think my pockets are endless
LOL
loL
bruh my graphics is rx 570
soi bad
so bad
wtf
not bad
14GB
XD
seen 12 gb systems lol
ye i wouldn’t recommend getting that
i’m no expert
but 14gb?
instant red flag for me
Colorful is a legit brand and that is a legit card, 14GB most likely is a typo or something but that price does not reflect the current market
it sold out
That makes a lot of sense
the only place i’m seeing decent cards is ebay unfortunately
is rog strix b550f compatible with ryzen 5 5600x
does the board have a bios flash button
Yes it does
yes
i’m new to computers what’s the difference between hdmi dvi and three others and what should i use
hdmi
where am i gonna get bios usb
You just use a regular USB with the bios file extracted to it
You'll need one to install Windows anyway, too
You can use the same drive
oh
so i can install windows
and then find the bios files
and upload it to that drive
and put it back in the motherboard
umm
Do bios first but yes
ok
what are peoples opinions on tbis? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/

thanks a lot mate

yes i will
why a corsair ICUE case?
i didnt change it
just wondering
can i change some things?
ye go for it
you might wanna add a fan as theres no rear exhaust

also @normal oyster do u need wifi?
no i have an ethernet cable
ok
yes that seems better
that looks great thanks guys
np
doesn't have any display outs
I don't even think you can use those for mining
I don't think so
I got a K20 but I don't use it much
It was in a Dell workstation of mine
Passive means it has no fans
It is meant to be in a server chassis with lots of airflow
Not quite
It has no graphics output and gets VERY hot when accelerating renders
I don't know when the last time I saw a passive GPU that wasn't a workstation card like that was
It's possible they exist I just haven't seen them
Not even on older cards. My 1030 has a built in fan.
Passive 1650 :D
I remember it from Noctua's fanless build
I mean, with a Noctua build, it makes sense.
There we go, now I've seen one
completely passive build
https://youtu.be/khbvxsPTI84
Custom-designed for fanless operation from the ground up, the NH-P1 is capable of cooling modern high-end CPUs with low to moderate heat dissipation completely passively. However, building a passively cooled system is not as straightforward as building a regular system. For optimal results, we suggest users follow the suggestions and recommendat...

I'm a computer idiot building my first computer. My motherboard came in today and it's big, really big. It wouldn't fit my old computer. My tower comes in Friday. How do I know if this will fit?
What board and what case?
It's an atx motherboard and the tower does say atx
Check this out on @Newegg: GIGABYTE B550 AORUS PRO AC AM4 AMD B550 ATX Motherboard with Dual M.2, SATA 6Gb/s, USB 3.2 Gen 2, Intel 802.11ac, 2.5 GbE LAN, PCIe 4.0 https://www.newegg.com/gigabyte-b550-aorus-pro-ac/p/N82E16813145216?Item=N82E16813145216&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-13-145-216-_-09012021
Motherboard
then it should work, normally towers have just enough room to fit whatever motherboard type its made for
Check this out on @Newegg: ASUS TUF Gaming GT301 Mid-Tower Compact Case for ATX Motherboards with Honeycomb Front Panel, 3 x 120mm AURA Addressable RBG Fans, Headphone Hanger, and 360mm Radiator Support, 2 x USB 3.2 Gen1 (USB 3.0) Prots https://www.newegg.com/black-asus-tuf-gaming-atx-mid-tower/p/N82E16811173038?Item=N82E16811173038&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-11-173-038-_-09012021
Tower
This would definitely not fit my old one
It'll fit
Thanks! I know everything will be fine and I've had a lot of help, but I can't still help but think I'll screw something up
yeah, atx vs micro atx is mostly the height measurement
Also ram goes in a2 and b2, right?
Yes
Thanks
normally yes, and if it doesnt it should say so in the manual, which i do recomend reading before buildin
I'm friggin ready
what cpu are you using for the build?
5900x
I now have everything but the tower
And gonna pull my old graphics card out my old one until I can get my hands on a 3080
good luck on getting one ^-^, those are the main one people go after so they're like 2000 dollars
Yeah I know
But I'm working on it
This cpu is a lot of box for a little product
think it comes with a cooler, i could be wrong tho
Nope
But I have one
nah, that one is actually easy to get now
cpus aren't having too bad shortages
Not the 5900X
The graphics card
also ^
I want the 3080, the hard one
Up to the 5800X has a cooler but even then sometimes not
Dumb question: where does the m.2 go?
do you see the little plate under the cpu socket, above the 16x slot
Under these
I take that off, right?
ye
K grabbing toolkit
im still rocking a phenom x6, so im really excited for when i get the motherboard for the 3600 i have
Make sure to not take the base screw, it's a standoff
Just take the one with the cover
Else you'd be bending the drive
And that's gonna kill it
Thanks for telling me. I was grabbing my screw driver
Does it matter which slot i use?
Thanks. I'd better YouTube this
Every boards aren't configured the same
Technically the top slot closer to the cpu is a little lower latency but it doesn't really matter real world
^
hey, is this motherboard a good pair with the 3600? i wanted to doublecheck because i have next to no experience actually using new hardware, but i know that i want bios flashback and this seemed like a good budget option that has that feature
https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-TUF-B450-PLUS-II-Motherboard/dp/B08LCP4N8Q/ref=sr_1_1?crid=169SKR5QABN8X&dchild=1&keywords=asus+tuf+gaming+b450-plus+ii&qid=1630551476&sprefix=b450+gaming+plus+II%2Caps%2C157&sr=8-1
Question, is it worth it to upgrade from a 3900x to a 5900x?
I suggest going B550 instead, cheaper that way
eh, nah, not really imo
Thanks
all the b550 motherboards i can fine were $30-$50 more expensive, and im 15 and cant really afford that much more
how about newegg?
also do you already have a 3600 or is planning to buy it?
if so, buy 5600x instead, it's cheaper
hi
i already have the 3600, my dad upgraded from it and i bought it from him for $100, and yeah i checked newegg, but i wanted to get the hardware new if possible just to make sure i have a warranty and to make sure it comes with everything
oh
that's good then
Also well, there's gigabyte ds3h on newegg
It's 99 bucks
the reason i went for the tuf b450 was because it had decent vrm cooling and a bios flashback button, because i dont know if it'll support 3000 rysen and i dont have older chips that are am4
The gigabyte has support for it for sure
It's literally newer chipset
However, hmn
I say get the tuf you found
It's better
alright, thanks.
quite good budget board
https://www.newegg.com/msi-b550m-pro-vdh-wifi/p/N82E16813144331
it's on pcpp
not on wegg site oddly enough
I really like that board for budget builds
it didn't show on me
B550M-VDH is poggers
im running that now 🙂 its pretty nice so far
Does AMD R9 290x run blender?
Kk
Will it run faster than a 1050 ti in blender, as 1050 ti has Cuda but R9 has more raw performance
Nvm someone bought the 290x on eBay
mining rig to play minecraft?
xD yeah but not mine tho
hey
Yup
this chat dead
yeah
Hey so i want to flash bios my motherbaord, do i need to take the cpu out to update my motherbaord, Msi b550 a pro, Ryzen 5, 3600. The msi b550 motherbaord that i got was not 5000 series ready
I didn't take mine out 👀 so i hope not 😂 i just flashed the b550 vdh pro with everything on the mobo
I have question
Use the 3600 to update the bios
There is no bios flashback on that board afaik
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TxZnPV
Any advice on anything I should change?
First i would change that aio to either Artic liquid freezer II RGB model or for a Lian Li Galanhad because the software used in corsair rgb will eat your performance and the other two i recommended because they are rgb models that i believe you wanted to keep going with and have better cooling performance
Mind sending a link to the parts
@fossil cedar shouldni use the lastest version of thr bios update
First is for Artic https://www.newegg.com/p/2YM-004H-00012
This is for the lian li https://www.newegg.com/lian-li-liquid-cooling-system/p/2YM-002Y-00004
TY
Just tryna to prevent thermal throttles
And get the most for your money with no struggles
Well I'm glad I asked before moving forward
@fossil cedar So will the lastest one will be the one that says beta or the one below it
No, bios flashback is different than updating the bios normally btw, bios flashback lets you update the bios with just the power connected to the motherboard
As long as it's not beta yes
What's the use for the pc and budget?
And have you purchased anything yet?
And some blender stuff
Yea
Also do you want WiFi?
@fossil cedar well too late i did the beta version
I'd go back to the non beta
Okay
K , i just downlaoded the non beta one now and doing the update now
Is there i way that i can dlete other updates
@tranquil pebble black or white case?
Black
What the...
What?
Interesting storage setup, sure you need that?
Well they had the budget of 3k, and probs not but
Pilot e an optional bit
They had 2tb in og build
Of ssd
Oh well
So
Its almost a $100 less and I'm getting better parts
that's the magic of actually getting good value parts
Ahh yeah well you did have a scalped 3070 ti in yours but yeah lol
You could even get a 3080 ti
If lucky
Damn
Or 3080 ti if only need 1tb
Yes
There's a good few parts you can still shave costs off
Going non-rgb can save you like 80$ easily
They said they wanted rgb
Prob another 70$ if you go for cheaper case
Yea, still places to shave money off if the GPU turns out to cost more
Definitely can shave costs
Rgb is too good to not have
Hold on lemme see what i can do
Tho everything is nice
Prob don't need revolt pro
No probs not
I'd rather have the headroom tho
Although going revo d.f. would get you a 2tb pilot e or something instead of 1tb p31
Ahh
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MTJC7X this is also an option
P31 2TB IS A THING?!
Been out for a few weaks yeah
4tb of p31
??

Rip alec wallet-2021
@fossil cedar TY for the build rec
Yw :)
UwU
O_~
Any good cases for good airflow and budget friendly?
what if I need 1tb vram
