For 600, its not too bad from what I can tell. Just rotate the fan and heatsink for the CPU and I would definitely reinstall Windows on it. Check and make sure everything's okay before you give it to him like load up a game you two normally play and see how it behaves underload for at least 30 minutes to an hour

Have a question. I'm thinking of doing a new build, but trying to decide whether or not it would be better to wait until after the Alder Lake release. I'm semi gamer, but primarily use my computer for high-performance computing work(dual RTX 3090 GPUs, 1TB NVMe SSD, 2TB SSD 2.5", 64GB RAM, not much lighting or 'special effects'). I know I'll have to get a new motherboard with the Alder Lake and probably will want to get new RAM. But I want to do a new build with better cooling, as my current setup isn't efficient enough at removing heat from the system, and getting a larger case and great motherboard would probably be useful - also considering adding ARGB to a lot of the rig. Thinking I might wait until after Christmas to start building, if I should wait. But I'm not sure if Alder Lake is worth the wait.
