Only has 1 working USB
is it big enough to matter
Just drill a mesh into it
Prolly not really
i have a spare 80mm and the enermax is being shipped
i’m gonna see if i can daisy chain more fans
Daisy chain?
Be careful
Uh oh terminology hits again
How many fans do you think one header can handle befor shorting
Those fan headers are only 1a each
Nope
assume 1a rating for header then
Fans yes
Uhh 4 fans max I'd say before things get screwed up
what are the fans rated for
i only have 2 on this header
daisy chaining is connecting many things to one thing
But be safe and do 2-3 depending on fan
like what you just did with usb
It is, it's an hp prebuilt, no way it's over 1a each
it'll either tell you power draw in watts or max current draw in amps
Lol convinient typo
I'm amazed filter doesn't catch that
i’d do 3
The other is 80mm idk what it is
Mr1 do you live in USA?
ye
look for yourself
The NF-A12x25 is a highly optimised next-generation 120mm fan that integrates Noctua’s latest innovations in aerodynamic engineering in order to achieve an unprecedented level of quiet cooling performance. It takes state-of-the-art technologies such as the AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frame or Flow Acceleration Channels and combines them...
oh oops I'm in the wrong channel lmao
is ok bleach
Also mr1 I go back to work next week so it'll be hard to find a time to play war thunder
I'll prolly have a day or two off during the week tho
I think this is overrated fan
My work wants me out land surveying now so I gotta be outside p much all day
Ight
Never ever seen it in a nice build
noctua fans are amazing
I'm not just making excuses to not VC with you
good quality and comes with bonus stuff
This crap just all comes in at wrong time lmao
no matter what, Noctua guy is good asmr
https://youtu.be/khbvxsPTI84
Custom-designed for fanless operation from the ground up, the NH-P1 is capable of cooling modern high-end CPUs with low to moderate heat dissipation completely passively. However, building a passively cooled system is not as straightforward as building a regular system. For optimal results, we suggest users follow the suggestions and recommendat...
But most go for aesthetics
What happens if the header uses too much power
and damn does the a12x25 perform well for the sound
Bro what all these build pic things are all about looks
Bad things
does it short the whole board or just the header
Maybe i can run off the cpu power too
best case, it's okay a bit over the rated current, worst case, something might melt
one splitter on the fan header one on cpu fan
Mr1111 I’ve never seen a brown and white build before
Most like to match colors atleast
Are cpu fan headers usually rated for 1a
yes
my pc is nowhere near aesthetic
Ok i’ll run a Y splitter off that too
If you use your PC for a while, you'll notice that you won't really look at your PC anyways
I know I know but most who actually like building computers end up building half way between both I thought
Yeah
Get performance and looks
Oh Noctua is for ultimate performance and acoustics
a12x25 actually deserves the fame
The silence is good
AIO Cooler RGB better for beast build

it’s fake
Never seen Ryzen 9 beast builds with noctua fan
oh I know there are people with 3950x and d15
d15 is nice
Mr1 did you ever see a pic of my pc before I fixed it?
for looks*
And looks
think about it
if you build a pc for performance and acoustics
is posting it a big concern?
:p
it's like survivorship bias
anyways
This was PC a month or so after I built it
If I throw my build up on here think you guys could tell me what to upgrade first?
prob yes
Ye
Of course it’s entirely subjective
I think my pc build is the perfect balance of aesthetics and performance
Same with @little osprey pc
Looks vs Performance in anything is personal choice
Looks vs performance? What’s that? I only know looks and performance
It's easy to kill two birds with one stone in PCs
Evga 3060ti

Performance is quantifiable, looks are not
:D
Get good looks and performance in the same thing
Yes they arr
I was only wondering why the huge beast builds don’t have the Noctua NH-D14 if they need the performance to run the pc
Sorry wrong PSU, got a 750 w coming
Same pc
Bottom
Bottom looks better
@desert gulch
How tf is this so clean

Idk
I wanna get cablemods for it too
How did you know how to do cable stuff bruh
there’s no mesh just plain intake
Prolly no fan tho right?
disappointed at 212 :(
Is there a cable management 101 guide somewhere too?
^
It looks nice and does good enough for my 3600
I woulda gone 224xt instead but whatever
mmm
Bruh
212 black looks a bit nicer imo
the submissions are there for proof, you can take a look yourself, I linked both subs
Air cooling vs Fan
so is dust a problem if there is just direct intake with no mesh?
Anyway Im thinking obvious upgrades would be faster ram and a better processor but that mobo only goes to gen 8 300 series 1151s... So I think a good i7 is the top there unless I get a new mobo
Air cooling = fan
The mesh in this case isn’t very fine to begin with so i don’t think it will catch any dust
Cheap for now upgrade would be add another 16gb ram
I'd sell Mobo, CPU, and ram and get a new stuff
yes
Not in the budget for now. I could spare maybe 250 more
Hmm
Can you sell the current chip
Yeah if you sell old stuff you should be able to get it
No hyper threading is a real killer on 1151
Wut?
@stoic island SW2’s better then Noctua
Im only going to be gaming on it
Need voltage
wat
And I only have a 1080p monitor for right now
Voltage x amperage = watts
fans are usually running off 12v rail
So Im thinking upgrading is probably unnecessary for now anyway
uhh only says 95w on product site
w a t
So that's like 8 amps if on 12v
i’m not gonna take off the cpu cooler to look
oh probably a 'can cool 95w tdp' thing
Maybe lol
Maybe
Mr1 is right
Idk why i’m messing with pc and not sleeping
so it can go up to 95w and sound like a jet engine
beQuiet’s Silent Wing 2 fans
can i run off another 0.14a fan off the header.
that’s the question
Assuming it’s a 1a header
depends on testing, afaik a12x25 still performance better noise normalized
and there’s this 95w cooler
I know gentle typhoons are close match for a12x25, and can arguably be better, but a12x25s are still great
95w for a cooler sounds like a lot
It can cool 95watts
OHHH
we'll have to see when GN starts their fan testing
Uhh it's confusing
@stoic island are you an expert in computer building
Tdp isnt standardized
I need a favor
95w cpus can use like... 150w under loads... Like the i9 for instance I think
who knows, maybe I'm an expert, maybe not
Ah hell bruh
just ask :p
I hate this kinda stuff
if I can answer, I answer
This why you ain’t in the customer service part bro
tdp is just weird, though AMD power limits are usually fairly close to tdp, Intel likes to go way up
11400 is an i9 no?
Wait you reviewed my build earlier right
for example, 11900k has 95w TDP, but PL2 (power limit 2, basically max power draw while boosting) is 250w
Christ
it's an 'i5', not that it matters much.
...wait why would I want to upgrade to another i5
Specifications for the Rother motherboard
this is my motherboard
can anyone research to see if the headers are for sure 1a
generation over generation gains means that 'i5' 11400 can perform quite a bit better than even an 'i7' 7700k for example
Hmmm...
Check CPU benchmark websites
I used to think i9 or brand number was better
It’s the model number
oh and by the way, funny thing is, the 'i7' 7700k (and 6600k for that matter), actually have less cores than the 'i5' 11400
Ryzen 5 can be as good as a Ryzen 9
6600k is 4 cores 4 threads, 7700k is 4 cores 8 threads, 11400 is 6 cores 12 threads.
For gaming, you correct
I mean, even a threadripper 1900x is probably going to just lose to a 5600x even in multi-core
Model Number > Product Number (i5, i7, i9)
basically, for 11400 vs 6600k, you get more cores, faster cores, and more efficient cores
The 11400 is 270 before tax by itself for the worst one
Not sure that pricing intel was giving me was good
Nah
189 on best buy
Look at how the i3 benchmarks a higher mark
Justs goes in and out of stock regularly
Compare to i7
should be like 190$, but anyways, random benchmark I found off a random guy, take it with a grain of salt, but this would be what the performance difference might look like
I guess, but what are you trying to gain?
There is no practical point to compare a threadripper to a desktop cpu
Oh wrong photo @desert gulch 😂
So my 6600 is already way more than necessary for gaming on 1080p.. Except for maybe cyberpunk tier games
Lol
I was talking about like ~5 generation differences, easiest way to talk about it with AMD would be Zen vs Zen 3, and since there's no zen r9, might as well use zen based threadripper to tell you what I'm trying to say
Pato and a whole bunch of other guys talked to me about that
Hrrrrrmmmmmm
There was like 5 million people typing about how important model # is
So realistically I should probably save up another 1k, get a good 1440p monitor, and the parts above?
I mean, M27q is a pretty neat 1440p monitor for just 300$
I mean depends on games
don't think you need 1000$ for all of that
3060ti isn't a super 1440p card
1k for the monitor mobo cpu and ram
It will do it but not super high settings in all games
Hey man you take what you can get in this market
Yeah
It's a great card, don't get me wrong
It's the best value card in that range right now
In terms of value to dollar
Newegg shuffle decided for me. Ironically I literally had a regular 3060 in the mail that day
Returned it now waiting for the ti
I'm just saying for intense titles on high settings 1440p it's not gonna the best
Honestly I dont really know if I even need that rn; seems to be like the top .1% of the games right now
Are you being ironic
Basically a raffle for a chance to purchase a gpu
At regular price
Not scalping prices
Bundled with other items usually to dissuade would be scalpers
Esp aib Radeon cards
Shuffle AIB Radeon is even more expensive than microcenter prices
looking to build a productivity pc for art and blender for a friend
can anyone help xd
budget
2000 and below
usd?
yes
no gaming?
lets go with light gaming to be safe
ok
like genshin at 1440p
alr
I got everything but gpu lol
you know theres a bit of a shortage going on
thats ok lol
@echo vale
its solid but if your tryna go lower on price get 16 gb instead of 32 gb ram
why that psu
why a 970 evo plus
and why that board
Probably want more HDD space too for storing projects
fast load times
msi bios is acc good
I'd go 5900X personally over 5800X for rendering
yea did choose that before
I mean I can build a pc thats like cheaped out on everything outside of cpu and gpu
but like it wont look nice and will prob have worse preformance
where gpu
its for my friend
dunno what he wants
but he wanted it for blender and art stuff like ps and such
and to be on the safer side i said light 1440 p gaming
strawberry is pretty good for blender
@echo vale https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yqZyYg
cheaped out on everything
other than cpu
used 2070 super good budget option for light 1440p60
knowing his challenged brain hell probably pick up a 30 series card
if he manages to get one
lmao
well
blender and ps can use those high end gpus
depends on if he can get/afford them
wouldn't cheap out on mobo with a 5900x
i hope so if his max budget wa 2k
ehh
exacly idk why some guy was saying y did u get that mobo
2k is not that high for a rendering workstation
you can still get a soild experince
tru
with 2k
legit 5900x or 5950x is solid
if you need gpu acceleration that 2k disappears fast
prob best outside of threadripper and those 28 core xeon chips
yea
customer hit me up for a 5k workstation and still had to cut some corners
damm
couldn't fit 3970x + 3070ti
3070 ti is more expesive than the 3970x
lol no absolutely not
lmfao
ik
3070ti isn't that hard to find for 1k no tax
reference to the gpu shortage
yea I found this guy one for 700 usd
yea
i dont remember it was a bit after launch
lemme see if i can find it
it was acc 800 but now its 860
but evga ones are good
is there a case similar to o11 thats pretty nice?
y not the o11?
just wondering
metallic gear neo qube is a cheaper ripoff of the o11
there was this deepcool case
not that u could do it urself but ye
kinda like theo11 ig
tinted glass would defeat the purpose of the o11
i think it would look nice
gigabyte bios is as
lmao sure
i got one its impossible to navigate
gigabyte or aorus bios?
legit studders every 2 seconds of me moving my cursor
you arent gonna get smooth mouse in any bios
I legit was tryna do timings on my ram it was impossible to find the voltages
my brother does in his msi bios and he has worse specs than me
both r b550 boards
Also u always use a keyboard for bios anyway
i mean it is 30 fps
nah my mouse cursor goes to like2 fps
so?
true but its so had to find the stuff
i dont have any problems with mouse in bios
like msi has it all right under the section
arrow keys and enter key my dude
i noticed my aorus elite had slow mouse in bios
but thats only the aorus elite
never had slow mouse in bios on any other board
msi is better than gigabyte
Its not an issue tho
arrow keys beat mouse in bios any day
bro
you're not wrong
I use only scroll wheel on the mouse in the bios when I bother using a mouse
doesnt mean its better
they put the stuff where it needs to be
gigabyte bios will bury msi bios for any type of overclocking
im my aorus bios im pretty sure i had to find some sort of ram voltage under like usb or something idk
My board says OUCH as I have one of the top processor overclocks
lol its on the first page
under dram voltage
XD
It wasnt there
i dont got that page lol
pretty sure my first page was favourites but idk
havent been in bios for a long time
that is there
but thats dram voltage
it was some other voltage i cant remember tho
and I also spent 20 minutes finding infinity fabric
Lmao
cuz its not where its supposed to be by all the dram settings
bro wtf
so I spent 20 minutes finding something acctually called infinity fabrick
when i could have just scrolled up lol
Its with all the voltages just under ram timings
but msi is just better

idk but its just so much easier to use
Im yet to see any proof of anything except u being bad
took me a good 20 - 30 minutes optimizing stuff in bios
Lol
my brothers pc took like 5 minutes
It takes that much for someone who doesnt know what they are doing
which is y msi is better lol
can u enable pbo there?
disable c states
Pbo is default on auto
Which is on
So you dont need to
wb c states
what if you wann go into advanced pbo mode
Exactly what about them lol
can u disable c states in easy mode
Disabling c states is dumb
1 sec
wdym
c states is a power saving feature
you dont need that
why wouldnt you
if you want preformance you would disable it
if you want to save 1 cent a year on your power bill enable it
So ur cpu idles and draws less power when u aint doing anything
Thats… not how it works
Cpu will boost up when you put load on it
if you have c states on it will still power save when you have it active
under load
Only when you are within those states
Which only activate on some level of idle
Lmao
bro
Its still damn easy to change em but you shouldnt
c states disabled is better for preforamnce idc what u say i got much lower input latency with it disabled
On what? The home screen?
Lmao
lmao
latencymon
Figures
So u measured on idle
When a c state was active
Not when u were playing a game
When it would automatically disable
it was lower while playing a game aswell
wdym
if you play a game with low cpu usage your gonna see better results with c states disabled
OR you just use the ryzen power plans like amd recommends on zen 2
bro its still gonna save power if its enabled
Lmao
who uses ryzen power plans
How is that bad again?
Smart people
They're really recommended for Zen 2 and under
bro lmao i switched off those ages ago
Yes I can see that…
Thats why I said what I did about who uses them
this power plan im using got me better temps than that
Lmao
and much better preformance
Power plans are way more than just temps...
LMAOOO
No no falcie this guy knows more because he gets better perf on idle now
XD
wdym
ryzen power plan doesnt even disable idle
Exactly what I say is what I mean
Of course it doesn't disable idle, you want that
There is no way to disable idle
want me to use a power plan that disabels idle
ill send ss
Can you read?
Exactly
ik im just saying when you dsiable idle it will show up as task manager cpu usage at 100%
No
Lmao
cuz then your cpu will be used at 100% at all times
wdy m
No
bro r u good
yes it will
What
Do I need to explain what no means?
How do you disable idle
LMFAOOO
there is a hidden power play feature that disabled idle
No it's just a toggle setting in task manager
It just happens to be called idledisable
If your pc isn't being used it's idling
So?
wdym so
Do I need to explain what so means?
you know what i mean
That's just a poorly named setting
You can't actually disable idle, it just disables READING the idle in task manager
No I dont because you making less sense than my cat when he meows about pcs
LMAO that's a dumb setting
yea thats exacly why when I have it disabled my temps are at like 80c on my cpu when im not doing anything
That's a whole other issue there dude
how?
doesnt matter
That's a mounting issue lol
how are they when you load up a game
80
idle temps dont matter at all
c
only temps under load
Watch, I'll "disable idle" on my cpu and task manager will read 100% and my cpu won't change temp
thats fine lol
ok
Weird how it's 80 under load and at idle
thats when I disable idle on my power plan
when idle is enabled then its at 50c
Hmm I dont see the option under the power plan
Wait
strange
The hell is he talking about
I legit said its hidden
Then how did you find it
certian power plan and some reg stuff
Also even on high perf plan my cpu idle at 50
You can have the same effect with a powercfg command line option
enable c states first off
mine hit 107 once on p95 lol
Is there even a point in doing that
he has em disabled
because then he gets less input lag on the desktop
lmfao
bro do I have to tell u again under load aswell
Do I have to tell u again that thats not how it works?
lmfao
then how does it work
Falcie already said
mb I was tripping i said 80 lol
it went from 45 with idle enabeld to 57 with idle disabled
when i was doing nothing
It djsables task manager from reading idle state
After powercfg option
c states only activate on idle or during sleep mode
37 minimum damn
Before powercfg option
Mine is 40 lmao
It does tell the processor to hold boost clocks but it's definitely not a huge difference
I already ran the powercfg command line
even disabling idle makes a difference\
Oh btw falcie
Did you try this thing like once
msi bios or gigabyte bios?
Or did you try it at least thrice
which one better?
With all programs not running
Ehh, about equal but I'm biased to MSI
I'm uses6 too Msi one
fr?
msi is just so easy to use
The important part to note is thread usage didn't change AT ALL
thats exacly what ive been telling this guy lmao
asus is bottom tier for sure
lol
tbh once you know what everything is gigabyte bios is the best
its a no bs no babying bios
I mean doesnt really matter
Personally didnt have a learning curve with gigabyte either
No stupid drag and drop graph to set curves, just temp/speed
I knew what each option did and what it should be logically under and it was there
I had to look up what some settings meant on MSI
But I guess nothing's really idiotproof
Only things I had to look up were some memory timings but that's all boards
I had a fitz and an arshia so didnt have to do that
I like the research step, finding what I'm looking for is very satisfying
If I'm short on time and don't have patience for a dissertation, I'll ask one of them
The only confusing part of current MSI bios for me is there's 2 "AMD overclocking" menus, one has the numbers in hex (and has a couple more hidden options) and the other has the same numbers in decimal
I guess it's nice they give you the option (unlike asus, hex or nothing)
that doesnt really make sense tbh
I agree, and it only popped up shortly after Ryzen 5000 support dropped. It used to be just the decimal menu.
Strange
whats the best micro atx for airflow
I like the coolermaster MB311L ARGB
-insert headbash naming meme-
Question. Windows Task Manager says it uses 20% of the RAM, like this, https://prnt.sc/1p4bgcr which means that it sees only 16gb of the RAM.
dxdiag says I have 32.
Should I do anything?
This is dx https://prnt.sc/1p4c98a
I am using default settings everywhere.
That should be just 1 program using 2gb
I'm sure there's a few others that are using the other 10% or so
^
Hi, is it okay to pair 5900x and gtx 1070?
yes
Nope, that was the user https://prnt.sc/1p5637n
I have updated the BIOS, but I still get the same.
Dxdiag shows 32, bios shows 32, cpuz says 32, windows task manager math says it's 16
I need some help with airflow
So in my case there’s one fan in the back, one on the side, and a small vent in the front
Really bad drawing but that’s what it could look like
so far there’s one exhaust and the side intake but i’m not too sure about having front intake
Any top exhaust?
More intake than exhaust is good for positive pressure if that's what you're asking about
Should i have positive pressure?
I’m trying to stay neutral because i figured a balanced air pressure would do better
Hmm i read that a little positive pressure is good
Two 80mm intake and 120mm exhaust then?
Neutral is optimal, but positive is p good
Well if it reduces performance i’ll just leave it
Not really?
oh
I'd rather have air blowing than not having any air blowing
So would you recommend i put the extra fan in or no
i have one exhaust and one intake rn
Yes
Alright
I need to cable manage damn
what a mess
Now my fans run at full speed because of 3pin
Uhh
Yikes
Think my bios didn’t like that
Computer shut off on its own after 5 second
Huh
So i guess i can’t run a Y splitter off the Cpu fan header
Sad
Idk if it’s HP being stupid or not actually supporting 1a
Prob the tach pin isn't reporting correctly for some reason
Wait
Plug it into the other side of the y splitter
Lemme try that
Much better
Not as much noise and we posted
Yay
Ok now the real test
adding another fan to the Y splitter
(without melting the fan header)
Stuck on this
I didn’t install any updates and i’m not even connected to the internet
can i just shut down?
Nevermind just took a while
It smells like burning rubber
Well melting
not burning
but the headers aren’t hot at all so i’m not sure what the problem is
Yo im not sure if any can help me make a pc but if you can please help me i have no clue what i'm looking at
Make?
a list for parts
or like you already have the parts
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/acer-nitro-5-15-6-gaming-laptop-amd-ryzen-5-8gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1650-256gb-ssd-obsidian-black/6413246.p?skuId=6413246
Is this a good laptop?
I could do with some help picking a cpu for my new build
I have a budget of about 2300 for the whole pc
Mostly gaming but also some light video editing
Its not the best from my experience, quality-wise
Lenovo's much better, their build quality's really good
Ok thx
any time
How much should a computer cost that has these specs.
Cpu- I7 9700k
Gpu- MSI GTX 1050ti 4gb
Ram- 16gb ddr4
Ssd- m.2 samsung pro 1tb
Mb- Asus prime z390
Easiest and clean thermal paste off of a CPU?
@marsh kiln Samsung 970 pro, 980 pro 860 pro?
That I'm not sure of
They are asking what drive is in the computer I asked about not what one they should get
I just did a quick build with the parts you provided to give you an idea but keep in mind that the prices are due to current shortages like the GPU so some parts are higher than usual https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nFRPZZ
Ok thanks it has a noctua cooler does not say what one and it's used
@jagged ember easy and cleanest way to clean off thermal paste?
You're welcome, the GTX 1050 ti had an msrp of $150 when it came out to give you an idea
I know some people use rubbing Alcohol and a paper towel
This is the list they give
What you trying to do?
Looking at a used pc for my friend
What's he trying to run
How much is the seller charging for this pc?
600
That's not bad, I would of guessed 600 is a decent price for what it is, I would definitely look at the cooler mount before purchasing first
He does not care about running it on max setting but gta5 rocket league minecraft and other games
Btw there is a pic of it in general
I'm not a fan the way the cooler is mounted, its set to push air through the top but the top is covered up
It definitely need more fans
Yea but that's not that big of a deal to change most of the time here is another pic of the inside
Yea if I get it that's being moved
I would definitely rotate it counterclockwise so the fan will be on the right side pushing air through the rear of the case
I would not feel comfortable giving my friend a pc like this lol
Yea
I wouldn't either. There's no telling if there's any hidden gremlins with it
He really would like to have a pc tho
I would at least rotate the cpu cooler
He has been wanting to play games with me and some other friends for like so so long and he does not have a pc
For 600, its not too bad from what I can tell. Just rotate the fan and heatsink for the CPU and I would definitely reinstall Windows on it. Check and make sure everything's okay before you give it to him like load up a game you two normally play and see how it behaves underload for at least 30 minutes to an hour
Make sure nothing crashes
And I would also run cinnabench on it as well
Have a question. I'm thinking of doing a new build, but trying to decide whether or not it would be better to wait until after the Alder Lake release. I'm semi gamer, but primarily use my computer for high-performance computing work(dual RTX 3090 GPUs, 1TB NVMe SSD, 2TB SSD 2.5", 64GB RAM, not much lighting or 'special effects'). I know I'll have to get a new motherboard with the Alder Lake and probably will want to get new RAM. But I want to do a new build with better cooling, as my current setup isn't efficient enough at removing heat from the system, and getting a larger case and great motherboard would probably be useful - also considering adding ARGB to a lot of the rig. Thinking I might wait until after Christmas to start building, if I should wait. But I'm not sure if Alder Lake is worth the wait.
My computer freezes everytime I log in anyone know why?
Budget? Amd or Intel? and what are you going to use it for
This doesn't tell us a lot. A lot of things can freeze your pc during log in. Have you done anything to it lately? Upgrade hardware, installed software?
My laptop did the same thing but that's because the hdd is very not ok
I added a graphics card to it recently
under 2k, gaming and editing and which cpu do you prefer
i would say Amd
10850k/10900k/kf imo, especially if you live near a microcenter
I'd go with amd as well
Which one?
I recommend finding the latest driver for it
Btw unless someone already has a motherboard or something i wouldn't bother asking if they prefer amd or intel because their both just processors just get the better suited one for that budget and use case
hello pato
me have question
https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Yaboy2412/saved/#view=2BWZJx do i need to have case fans or is the 2 fans that come with the case good?
im not pato but
i suggest addin an exhaust fan for the rear
that'd improve things, but for such parts ya got in it
it's not really that needed, but suggested
Buy a Arctic P12
Also if you don't have a Ryzen CPU that's pre 5000 series you may not have much fun
Tuf wifi x570 doesn't have bios flashback
Or hope it ships with updated bios
Yeah
You gotta get the pro variant to get bios flashback on the tuf x570
ASUS TUF Gaming X570-PRO (WiFi 6) AM4 Zen 3 Ryzen 5000 & 3rd Gen Ryzen ATX Motherboard (PCIe 4.0, 2.5Gb LAN, BIOS Flashback, HDMI 2.1, USB 3.2 Gen 2 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08JWMPVD9/
Here's the pro one
@desert gulch
Aye
What’s a better choice buying an 6600xt for my new build or put in my 1050ti into the new build
I am eating until 40 series
Waiting*
If you can wait for a good price on the 6600xt, go for it but use the 1050ti for now until you can find one.
I mean I can buy one for 380
I mean it's meh
If you snag a 3060ti founders edition for only $20 more, it kinda destroys the 6600xt
True, but finding them for MSRP over the 6600xt isn't going to be easy right now
What would be a good cheap cooler for a ryzen 7 5800x?
Honestly fuma 2 is the lowest cooler I'd put on a portable sun 5800x
^
bought an expensive CPU don't cheap out on the cooling
you will regret it
even a 360mm aio isn't enough to fully tame an undervolted 5800x
for gaming something like fuma 2 is fine
if you'll do workstation tasks 360mm aio is minimum
I have a 5800x under one of the best 360mm aios in a high airflow case with 9 fans and it's undervolted and I still see 90C if I really slam it
I got a 1080 and downloaded gforce to get the drivers and even after downloading and redownloading the drivers the pc still freezes
What about a 5600x sips
90 C 5600x
My friend got a be quiet pure rock 2
I did not think it was a good choice, but I can't find many reveiws
My dumbass thought he said dark rock pro 2
yes I can also see 90C on 5600X in p95 small ffts avx2 with 360mm aio and 7 fans mesh case
but it's more like fluctuating between 85-90
whereas the 5800X just gets pinned to 90
as long as you stick to gaming even a se-224-xt should be ok
will get a little toasty but ok
don't try stuff like h264
So a vetroo v5 or gammaxx isn't enough is it?
5600x too weak of a cpu for good h264 anyways
idk about gammaxx
vetroo v5 I'd avoid
is the gammaxx in question on the same tier as se-224-xt
I think the xt is better
cause that's the minimum cooler I'd go for a strictly gaming 5600x
you will probably see it exceed 80c in games but that's fine
But I don't think that requires more cooling?
editing? yeah no go 360mm lol
Kekw
rendering is intense cpu load
Sheesh
it will push the cpu to 80c+ on 360mm
Arctic freezer ii
oh no
Cooler more like hotter amiright
Y’all ever see a 3200Cl22 ram kit?
Yes
How much of a difference would it are going to 3600cl16?

It’s a 10700k
well
you could try to oc the 3200c22 kit
3200c22 is just a jedec bin
should have some oc headroom
Thank for suggestion
My dad refuses to OC ram at all
Yep
I know you're an enthusiast but
idk if your dad wants to spend 2 weeks dialing in numbers
anyways what does he do with it
gaming is more latency sensitive than most workloads
And installing windows a few times
idk how demanding world of tanks is
Probably not too demanding?
is he dissatisfied with the current performance of his rig
Idk tho
