Bruh
3950x won’t work on a TR40 board
Lol
Totally different sockets
Also yes ^
Thanks for letting me know! Any recommendations for what I should use?
Lmao
You can tell me I was right now
Msi godlike if overkill
and AMD board maybe >>>>
Are you doing this for gaming or workstation
But you weren’t
Yes I was
I think this so is a for fun build
I guessed they were doing threadripper
And they are doing ryzen 9
You guessed first gen Intel or xeon
Not thread ripper
I'm closer tho
Mainly a fun build that I might use
Cuz gaming = 5950x and workstation = 3990x for overkill
might use???
Msi godlike x570
did you buy any of this yet
Yes
Oh god no, I need to save up for more important things like an apartment n stuff
That one asus psu with the display
1200w PSU
Homemade 1600w PSU 😏
😳
I just plug directly into the wal
110VO
Up to the board to convert into lower voltages
Yes
Make a 2000 watt PSU
Then trip your breaker because your system would def take 2000 watts
Would a 3960X work instead of the 3950X?
I want to go overkill on the PC not my bank account 🤍
Are we allowed to send links to products?
Would an AM4 socket work with a TRX40 board?
Ye
Nope
alright so this is the chip I was hoping i wouldn't have to buy
https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-threadripper-3960x/p/N82E16819113619?Item=N82E16819113619
Why do you need 24 cores
If on a budget just get a 5950x, has 16 cores , is only 800, boards are wayy cheaper than tr boards
Would they both fit with the rest of the parts?
The parts in question
Can you use https://pcpartpicker.com/list instead its hard looking at walls of text especially when it's not super specific with the ram etc
Also why meshify c as the case?
A bigger case will give better airflow
Aio Mobo ssd
Aio could be Galahad 360 or the ek aio 360
Mobo could be the b550 torpedo, it's on a good sale rn
And for ssd I'd go for a 1tb p31
whats bad about the deepcool
Just not as good
why
Because it isn't, different designs and stuff
I honestly couldn't, just now that it yields worse results in benchmarks
@ThePaganBeans#0975 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FzqGCz
Gamers Nexus has some reviews on them
Im assuming you'll want a hella good aio tho since it's a 5900x and if you wanted to enable pbo and stuff
yeah
ive heard that the deepcool was pretty good but ill see
hows the Torpedo B550 better than the msi carbon?
Cheaper
But can still perform the same
After the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280 proved to be the best CPU cooler for AMD Ryzen, EK's AIO 360 D-RGB took the crown. Now we're looking at 280 vs. 360mm radiators and the 360 Liquid Freezer II.

Watch our review of the Arct...
Here's a showdown of the aios
@humble gulch https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GMRDW3 this
Yeah freezer ii is really good for the offset mount on ryzen
Last time I checked it was oos everywhere
Hence why I didn't recommend it
It's back in just of today ye
not really a fan of the case or case fans, also SSD performs the same as the one I sent in terms of speeds, and motherboard u sent doesent have wifi or bluetooth
and I cant use ethernet as im really far away from my router
The case you had was an actual oven
What about the 4000x by corsair?
idk I just dont like the way it looks
The case fans look better irl than that pic bte
which is why I have like 9 fans lol
That doesn't fix it
They're pulling air out of nowhere
ive built my friend's pc with him and he has the same case, i didnt really like the way it looked lol
lots of fans doesnt improve temps when they're pulling air from nowhere
Ehh up to speeds is the same but rand(real life performance) is better on the one i sent
its got ventilation from bottom, side, and top tho
I'll get a wifi mobo for you then
side?
Soo, get like an o11d if you hate the look of any good cases at least or something, have a look at the p360a or p500a tho
the NEO Qube is basically the O11D but cheaper lol
only thing thats better
is that
it can fit a larger GPU
tbh for a 3080 build I'd go with some sort of airflow focused case
Didn't realize there was side intake
if you really hate the look of the 4000D theres always P500a which I think looks good
around max temps for similar cpu was 70C and GPU was 65C
well
that being said
they dont have the same use for the PC as me
but i dont think air flow would be that bad of an issue, since Id have a lot of exhaust and intake coming from 3 sides
@humble gulch https://pcpartpicker.com/list/s9fqF8
It will be but if you insist
Especially if you're slamming the gpu and cpu at the same time
id just take off the side panel if im doing an extremely intensive task lol
isnt the Arctic bad with leaks or something? idk ive heard some bad stuff about it
Nope arctic is THE BEST
hm alr
someone is impersonating theo
what lol
o
why would you do that
buy the h510 that is
its not a pc case
its an oven
hahaha
well i mean if i buy more fans for the case maybe i could see a slight improvement in airflow
theres 2 fan mounting places that do more than 0 airflow
both can do 1 120mm fan
I dont think thats gonna happen
its a garbage case
get the 4000d airflow
looks meh
front tempered glass
has some gap tho
4000d airflow way better
phanteks p360a
is also very nais
That does f all, you cant suck air out of the hard plastic
@cursive tusk have a look at the corsair 4000x if you think airflow cases look bad

Lol i like the nzxt look too ended up going h710 but there are lots of options
yeah
i mean nzxt looks pretty nice but oh well what can i do
the nzxt h510 arrives on thursday
Ah
what i do love is their AIOS the Kraken Liquid Coolers are good
There are some modifications you can make to the case to help with the airflow if you want
a little bit overprices but meh
but what i will say is way too overpriced is the Z Kraken series AIOS from NZXT
$100 more for a gif 😂

garbo for the price
exactly like tf
i could use those 100 for extra storage or sum
I got it on sale so $20 for a gif
Send it back
I already had 8T of storage and pretty much everything else I wanted so meh why not
unfortunately i cant no more
They look just like the arctic liquid aios, get those, they cheeper and better
Like getting an airflow case, running no side panels??
Why not?
No using PO 140 fans and sealing the gaps around the fans
And or push/pull when using a rad
what exactly is push and pull config I never fully understood
Fans on both sides of the radiator
oh okk
Push pull rad is a mega waste of money
Maybe
if the nzxt h510 is an oven imagine the H1 case or the 210 those are bombs
Not mb it is lok
The main issue with the h510 is the intake is so narrow and filtered that it’s easier for the fans to suck air around them then through the filter. So you end up with a vortex of hot air In The front. Sealing around the fans helps as does using pressure optimized and or powerful fans
Where is the best spot for a radiator top of a case or front?
Depends on the case but usually top
Top, but if you can fit a larger one on the front instead of the top, front
isn't the intake on top? or
Nooo, heat rises, top exhaust
aight
Nope intake is on the front exhaust on top and back
Reason: Bad word usage
oh then the intake on the h510 is doo doo
Yes
You can make it work but it’s a pain in the butt
Much easier to just use a better case
The case is the silverstone pm02
well i can say that my first mistake as of building my first pc is buying a case bcz of looks
Looks are important just needed more info
@crisp solstice do u think the x63 will fit in my h510
Yeah it does
What gpu you got though?
i got a zotac 1660 super in mind
Ok that’s fine then
I tried to stuff a 3080 in mine didn’t work so good.
‘‘Twas a snug fit
goddamn u need 3 8-pin connectors to power that graphics card
what psu are u rocking
isnt 1000 w overkill
Not at all
well i dont know which cpu u are using
oh dang
Ideally you want to aim for 50% usage of your power supplies rating
For efficiency and long life
Might be old rule of thumb but I’ve never had issues using it lol

The devestating loss of intel in 2020 was just miserable.Ryzen beat the heck out of ...
Lol yeah they lost the hype wars
go team red haha
So many people right after insisting that zen2 and even zen 1 beats intel because the 5900x< did.
I spent less then $300 on my cpu and it out performs every 5800x I’ve come across in games.
I need some help
What’s up?
I needed to replace the bottom fan on my td500 mesh and there is no way to screw it in and the pin things won't work
yay i got $200 today, i think imma buy ram. should it be something else? or is ram the next thing i should go for. i already have my Mobo, cpu, case, and 2.5' ssd
I’d put it towards a gpu unles your wanting to use the pc without one for a while
i think i would rather wait to see what happens to GPU prices
Ok cool then yeah I’d recommend crucial or patriot right now they are good stay away from Corsair though
yea i plan on crucial ballistix
What about kingston's hyperx fury ram? is that good
I’m sure some are can’t speak to the quality control though
Don’t see many Kingston kits these days
PlZ someone help how do I replace bottom fan on td500 mesh
The screws should be accessible from the basement
You might have to remove the HD cage if there isn’t room for the screwdriver
specs?
what all do you have
like parts
@queen dagger
Crucial Ballistix
What does it mean if a new fan keeps stopping and running over and over
The rpms are probably set too low. Check your fan curves
Ram
Lol
P500a, ASUS ROG STRIX B550-f Gaming (WiFi 6), Ryzen 5900x, and a 1tb Samsung 860 evo
sorry all i can here is minecraft cows didnt hear the ping
and what i plan on getting is 32gb of 3600 cl16 RGB memory from crucial

yes
What are your plans for cooling?
360 Lian Li Galahad
Nice
I like the Galahad better
The frosted RGB looks pastel
go for it
Witch is better the Asus ROG MAXIMUS XII FORMULA ATX LGA1200 Motherboard or the Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Formula ATX AM4 Motherboard
Pretty sure the formula is a higher tier then the Maximus, both are pretty serious boards what you planning on doing with them?
This was already answered in general btw they tripple posted, and one is intel and other is amd you cant compare
Hey all. Looking to make a new build as soon as I get the chance at picking up a 30 series card (current build is a 970). But I figured I might as well get a second set of eyes on what I have planned for the new build in case something in it is not smart. Can someone spot check for me?
CPU: i9-10850
CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken Z63
Motherboard: NZXT N7 Z490
Memory: Corsair Dominator Plat RGB 32GB
Storage: WD SN750 1 TB
Video Card: 3080 (would also settle for 3070 or 3070 ti)
Case: NZXT H510 Elite
Power Supply: NZXT 850 W 80+ gold
Fans: NZXT AER RGB CFM 120 and 140
What's with the NZXT choices?
Nzxt is not good at making coolers or fans or intel motherboards or cases
Or anything
Amd motherboards are okay by nzxt
But that's about it
I was following a guide to build rather than going solely on my own. Good to know that’s not a good brand to follow at all
Also, pcpp is useful
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/
Their power supplies are fine but there are way better competitors
NZXT is kinda just... not great?
Build guides basically work with all parts they are basically adult lego
Yeah that’s what I had mine in, but wasn’t sure if linking it was fine or not, so I just typed it out
Yea, link it.
mhm
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FRTfz7
Definitely saved me some hassle then. I’ll have to do a lot more investigating before getting any other parts then
@tropic widget Do you live near a microcenter?
Roughly 30 min drive. Just drove there this morning to do the queue system and they posted no truck today, so a bit of a waste of a drive
Never been into one before though
Just keep in mind MC has a bunch of things for cheaper, for example, 10850k for 320$ at MC.
To start at the top
microcenter cute
I love MC
i need to go there actually
swap like 100 16gb usbs out

irs an hour away tho
lili location dox
Which one?
Oh lol
the z63 is way overpriced, so is h510 elite, I would grab something like a P500a or TD500 mesh for the case, and change the cooler to a galahad 360mm, ek-aio drgb 360mm, or an arctic freezer ii 360mm that'll fit top mount in a P500a or TD500 mesh
@tropic widget rgb aio or no?
lol
ballistix is great
And it looks clean at the same time
@tropic widget Do you need wifi?
Oh tyvm for those suggestions
(Suggestions based off performance testing by GN)
I was planning rgb but not the end of the world without
Okay cool
Not particularly as I hardwire in
But I have external WiFi usb hookups if need be. They’re just not ideal and I haven’t needed that for quite some time
Then for the board, you could choose between a MSI Z490-a pro or a Gigabyte Z490 Gaming X, They both have pretty decent VRMs, the Gaming X a bit better VRM, but there's also other needs of your own for io and such.
one step at a time >:P
My only main want was a 3080 graphics card with a build. Looking to game/stream supporting 4K or at least 1440p when gaming. Was willing to go as high as $2500, which that build had satisfied so I’m really glad I didn’t drop all that prior to hearing about NZXT
@tropic widget How important is RGB on the ram for you?
Never mwahsha
Wow that is a lot better of a price point
Phew
I'm just feeling like going one step at a time to talk about reasoning behind everything
:P
I liked it aesthetically, but if it was going to mark it up a few hundred or something, then it wasn’t important lol
anyways, Ballistix is better than Corsair sticks for dies, 4x8 Ballistix rgb works
It’s maybe like 10-20 on Crucial Ballistix I’m pretty sure
I really appreciate the explanations. Copying all the texts to go over in detail later when I’m researching
This is the crucial Ballistix RGB

Anyways, next, the P31 Gold is just a really good drive for the rnd performance, which is generally more useful than just higher sequential performance for most people.
Ooh those look slick
Thanks :)
P500a is just a great case for airflow and compatibility and the pricepoint, and Revolution D.F. is a great PSU, although NZXT C is good, Revo D.F. is great, it offers better voltage regulation iirc, and it's a multi rail unit, which, at higher wattages, offer better protections (mainly ocp).
Good easy resource for PSUs:
https://linustechtips.com/topic/1116640-psucultists-psu-tier-list/

Green - small form-factor (gold and blue colors are disregarded due to scarcity of SFX PSUs) Gold - best units in the tier (includes requirements for blue color in tier ...
And same price for an extra 100w
nzxt c 850w was also 130$ but yea
Ohh thought they had the 750w version
I would trust nzxt to make an oven but that's about it
I mean
NZXT C is just a rebranded seasonic focus unit
so the unit is actually decent
And i trust their amd board(n7 b550) because asrock makes lol
Ohh fair but still
Go buy the seasonic focus then kek
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Finally just fully went through all those notes to catch up. Thank you very much for the recommendations and explanations @stoic island and thank you @fossil cedar for summarizing in a build list for me!
:)
Np :)
Anyone ever had a problem with Thermaltake fans and aoi cooling? The controller keeps going in and out?
Tried two motherboards and multiple controllers and even changed the PSU.
so frustrating
.Error = Could not find Fan Controller, Please check the Fan Controller is connected (error Code:H_0x0001) even tried connecting it to usb instead of header.
I’m back with the questions, if my m.2 has like a tag/barcode on top of it, can I put the heat sink that the motherboard provided for the m.2 on top of it
I’m just wondering if I need take the barcode thing off the m.2 then put the heatsink on top
Any thoughts?
yes
do not remove it if you value your warranty
So question here: what do i do if bios update taking long itll blink forever
that's actually why it has "dont remove this, or it will void your warranty" written on the sticker
Thoughts on?
How long?
Probs a wack controller
exchanged it and still the same even brought the commander pro
I did see if don't like AMD boards. I just wished it would work. Tried contacting ThermalTake and even got on discord but no help. Just frustrating. I hope someone can help.
best advice you're gonna get is never buy anything made by TT again
i wouldnt trust a toothpick from them
They used to be good
lol
What happened?
Probably right. I am old
actually idk they might be taiwanese
yep taiwanese
they just stopped rly caring about quality
i never really remember them being good tbh
That is so sad to hear. Suggestions on replcement?
just somewhat passable
I'm not the most knowledgable abt fan hubs tbh
or are you looking for an AIO
fans and AIO
none of them work. I have the Lian LI case which has 9 fans.
well won't say they don't work...just half the time they work.
aio i'd get smth by EK or Arctic
fans im not too sure about, i generally just buy noctua
@earnest olive gib fan recs
RBG stuff was the goal sometimes I wonder if it is worth it.. I know Noctua fans are awesome.
are you an epic rgb gamer or no

I love gaming and wanted to spruce the office up. LOL!
people out here saying rgb for kids
my 56 year old mom LOVES rgb
one time i built a pc without any rgb and she's like "why is this one so boring"
are these fans going on a radiator or just general case fans
LOL! I mean it adds that flair to the room.
need pressure optimized fans for a radiator so there is a difference
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/8CWBD3/phanteks-ph-f120sk-50-cfm-120-mm-fan-ph-f120sk_drgb_pwm like these would be fine for case fans but would be terrible on a radiator
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/QpH7YJ/arctic-p12-pst-a-rgb-0db-488-cfm-120-mm-fan-acfan00231a these fans are gonna be better if you don't mind paying a bit more premium
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/jcgQzy/uphere-t7syc7-120-mm-fans-3-pack-t7syc7-3 pretty much the cheapest argb pwm fans you'll get, come as a 3 pack which is nice esp if you need a controller
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/B8LwrH/uphere-nt1207-5-8634-cfm-120-mm-fans-5-pack-nt1207-5 or these very cheap white ones
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/FQ6p99/arctic-p12-pwm-pst-a-rgb-0db-488-cfm-120-mm-fans-3-pack-acfan00232a there's a 3 pack of the arctics that would probably be my #1 recommendation
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/gtkgXL/cooler-master-masterfan-mf120-halo-472-cfm-120-mm-fans-3-pack-mfl-b2dn-183pa-r1 if you're into the double ring look it'll cost you
what about Corsair? Are they anygood?
2 hours
really don't like corsair
overpriced and they use proprietary rgb connectors
so you have to buy their controller and use their software
and their software is a massive resource hog
Thats the point
gotcha..
They do that to make money
i have one corsair device (keyboard)
put 3 effects on the software to try it out
saw 19% cpu usage on an overclocked ryzen 5 5600x
for 3 lighting effects.

Dang! Yeah I don't want to go that route.
with my standard rgb fans i can control all 9 of them with 0% cpu usage lol
and didn't have to buy anything extra to make them work
yeah my #1 recommendation would be the arctic p12 argb 3-pack
balance of price/performance
means that it can turn off at very low temps if you set it to
Uhh ohh
It's never happened to me before but @earnest olive if you're still there, this guy has been updating bios for 2 hrs 👀
Also I'm tired and can't really think rn
Ive tried it a couple of times and just blinks
What board is it?
Mpg b550 gaming carbon wifi
Hey guys does anyone know any good cable combs for the ROG Strix 850W PSU?
@gloomy merlindid you rename the bios file?
i think msi wants you to rename it to MSI.ROM for the bios flash
don't remember if that's the exact name
Yea i did rename it
is it in the correct usb slot? only one works for bios flash
Ok, so I am building a computer for the first time and am confused with my psu. The psu is not clearly labeled and I need to know if it is ok if I accidentally plug a 4+4 cpu cable into a 6+2 PCIe port on the power supply.
They usually share the same pinouts on the psu side
So it doesn't matter if I mix them up?
Give it a while
Shouldn’t matter I think, but check your manual just in case

It shouldn't fit if it isn't supposed to fit most of the time
although pinout for 8 pin pcie and 8 pin eps on PSU side is weird
yeah sorry i got nothing then
oh
wait no
1 more thing
is the usb formatted as FAT32?
Thanks
reset cmos could help too
I wonder if anyone has ever put all their pcie and eps power cables into a Mobo 24 pin and turned it on lol
Lmao
Please do not use software to update bios, it's a horrible idea, and dragon center is pretty bad in general too.
for sure wouldn't fit
the clips would block it
and the pin holes are different shapes anyways
You think I'll be able to get windows pro for $20 and do you know first hand if its legit? My new build is saying to "activate Windows" Thanks for the help with my build btw. Everything is hooked up and looking great ❤️
final build. all purchased https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BCPjF8
Reason: Bad word usage
I did not use a bad word btw
1/10
Yes, quite a bit.
1600af is quite out of date now, built on an architecture that's what, 4 years old now
A400 is kinda a crappy drive
1050ti is far from optimal
And rm 750w is just a bit overkill at the moment
It's out of date
That's the gist of it
I'd try something like 10400+b560 for CPU and board
Ram is good
Would try to at least get a p2 500gb as the drive, something like a sn550 500gb would be even better
For the graphics card, well, it's what you can get your hands on, but 3060 is worth a try, and 3050ti is coming soon
For the PSU, A-GF 750w has a really good deal atm
those psus are all hilariously overkill for a 1050ti
I disappear now
people put those in dell optiplex with 200w psu
anyways first guy could have been nicer but yes your entire list has to be scrapped
well
i guess the case isn't too bad
at least you did not pick nzxt h510
i will say though, as someone who has built in this case, it is a HUGE pain to get hard drives in there
well
i've built pcs with more than triple the performance for around this budget
so
so mr1111 was absolutely correct recommending an i5-10400f
anything ryzen before 3000 series was garbage at gaming
this 1600 is about on par with intel third gen
which is from... 2012
anyways the biggest problem is buying a new graphics card
you would be much better served buying a used graphics card in this market
just give me a bit to make some changes and see where the budget lands
stop, you're going to make me blush
Sippy
hello
Ur breathtaking
uwu..
@little osprey do you need the 2tb hdd? if a 1tb ssd is the same price as the 240gb ssd + 2tb hdd would you rather have that
ouch
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Wm4yCz so here for most of the system
https://www.reddit.com/r/hardwareswap/new/ browse here for a graphics card, target GTX 1060 6GB for $300 or less
Back, I'd personally get a P360a for the case for the price, and smth like sn550 or maybe mp33 for cheaper for the drive
Afaik p34a80 swapper controller from e12 to sm2258 or smth
P360a neat

Yea to sm2262en, which isn't a bad controller, it's actually same controller as on pilot e, but yea, don't like switching controllers :p
God damn it my 3 hour runs are annoying

i'd assume it runs twice as long since you have 32gb
@earnest olive by any chance do you know how tuning SCLs works?
Lower them all at once or one at a time?
And do they depend on vsoc or vdimm?
does anybody know if installing a new motherboard [new one having WIFI] (keeping all other components the same) can mess up anything with windows?
yes
Windows sometimes doesn't like it
if its hwid it doesnt like it most of the time
Since afaik they can tie the key to the board
ah 😐
they do tie the key to the board
hwid?
yep
what
It's how windows identifies your PC basically
oh
Basically think of it as how windows can tell if you're on the same computer or you're trying to use the key on a different computer
oh
does it not being activated , or not activating it using a windows key change anything?
Not too much
oh
Just a few things that can be bypassed but can be annoying
check the price of rx 470/480/570/580
Better than adata atleast lol
Literally all it does is limit personalization settings, and gives you a dumb watermark
But watermark can be bypassed by a little trick
oh
And you can still set wallpaper and stuff thru diff means so it would all work still
ah okay
good motherboard with lga1200 socket under 200?
For what chip?
^
ohh so its fine if my heatsink is touching it. I just thought that if it got hot or something it would burn/melt the tag and that would be bad.
those are expensive
ebay has em for 5$
They are a lot of volume license keys that will get deactivated soon, these are legit, and imo ehh just don't activate but if you do might as well make sure it's legit
Fair but ehh i can't reliably tell someone all ebay keys are legit sooo that's easier
I'm in the middle of a Paypal dispute with urcdkey because the key they sold me was a Windows 7 Pro key and not a Windows 10 Pro key.
Bro, that's because you can use windows 7 keys to activate windows 10 still 🤦
Same thing
Same thing lmao
Lmao
whats a good MSI Motherboard for a Ryzen 9 5900x? AM4 - for gaming and graphic design
I have an MSI graphics card so I figured I'd mise well stay msi
I was going to go: MSI MPG X570 Gaming PRO CARBON WiFi
but I heard its not good for 12 core processors.. so not sure where to go from here
1 why look only msi but i would go with a msi b550 tomohawk or b550 asus tuf or b550 gaming edge wifi
It's overpriced, b550s usually have better vrms(cpu power delivery) than x570s
Anyway
hrmmm
what if I do another brand then?
I was looking at the 570s now
I kinda don't want to spend more than 250 though
but I will if I have no choice lol
Read the list i sent you, they are all cheaper and better
X570s are generally worse than b550s
Np
Out of curiosity how are B550s compared to a Crosshair VIII hero?
Without mentioning value/money
last question... whats a pretty decent 2 tb ssd? I want to get two. I was looking at this
Amazon.com: TEAMGROUP T-FORCE CARDEA ZERO Z330 2TB with SLC Cache Graphene Copper Foil 3D NAND TLC NVMe PCIe Gen3 x4 M.2 2280 Gaming Internal SSD (Read/Write 2,100/1,600 MB/s) for Laptop & Desktop TM8FP8002T0C311: Computers & Accessories
Either a P31 Hynix Gold or Pilot E
Bit of an unfair comparison since it has 12 cpu pins and is 2x the price and designed for liquid nitrogen overclocking
what are those? sorry never heard of these
Get muskin pilot e
True😂
Unfortunately no 2tb p31 yet
There isn’t?
Nvme ssds that are better
Nope 512 and 1tb
Ahh ok
That's it ye
Only has 10 cpu pins, one 8 pin and one 4 pin
Wait
Wait a damn minute
I can’t math
That's 12 lol
Realized that now
Is LN2 cooling even worth it for every day use?
And how would I get started with it?
Not really possible
Not unless you like no case and heat soaking the cpu so no cold bugs etc lol
I’m guessing because of it leaking
You need to send the list in the yellow box, not the url bar btw
what yellow box
Well you need to keep replacing the ln2
In pc pp
k
@pliant schooner I was looking at the 570s now this box
For a second I was wondering why is this exactly the same as my mini itx build plan
Until I realized it actually is
@vague oracle der baur has plenty of great vids on ln2 oc btw
Mobo overkill
is it good'
Cooler go for Arctic Freezer II 360
Will il be able to run games 240 fps +
Swap ram out for Crucial Ballistix RGB 3600 Cl16
@pliant schooner send this link
Thanks
thanks
SSD use a Mushkin Pilot E 1Tb
10850k or go amd, it's a 10900k but cheaper
Arctic liquid ii or ek or lian li galahad for aio
Ssd as alec said
huh
Motherboard needs to be changed
PSU Enermax Revolution DF 850w
why
How much should I be looking for a 980 ti, GTX 1070, and a R5 3600
The 10850k is a cheaper 10900k, don't spend that much on an intel cpu, at that point you could get a ryzen 9 5900x which is better
Completely overkill
Stupid overkill, that's a liquid nitrogen overclocking board
so
Doesn't improve performance, just a waste of like 250$
Was being generous, of the pricing, intel z boards are bit more expensive
@pliant schooner what's your budget and use for the pc?
Same that's why im asking
3700
games/streaming
Aio=all in one (liquid cooler)
Ie the cpu cooler
@pliant schooner cpu cooler, black or white?
What do you prefer?
Looks wise
yes liqued colling
Which one do you think looks the best out of the ones i linked
i want the kraken
Ohh the screen? Just add a screen yourself, then you can put anything on it
lmaoo
Ryzen 9 5900x
But it's so crap especially for the price
Did you look at the other ones ?
what
They are rgb as well
i can't find it
These
Look at those links
And which one is best
@pliant schooner https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4cNfbh
What?
Yeah you gotta change your mobo
He means it won’t show up in the CPU tab in PCPP
i like it tho
Just use my link
Waste of money for your uses
^^^^^
the mobo should support the chip
He’s going 5900x
pcpp just warns some b550 boards has an issue
They had 10900k in list, and z490, think they were tryna edit their list instead of using my link
Oh nvm I thought you were talking about the 10900k and the overkill board

Thanks ghosty
@pliant schooner like any of these
Or this
Damm that looks nice
Damn you’re making me want to buy that taichi lol
Too bad I’m too attached to my Crosshair Hero
But then again I could always throw it into my work build
i wish i could build a pc outta my own hands
@pliant schooner https://pcpartpicker.com/product/L23mP6/asus-rog-crosshair-viii-hero-atx-am4-motherboard-rog-crosshair-viii-hero here if you really want that motherboard you can get on amd too
all i got closest to the experience was just cleaning a prebuilt
lmao
didn't even take it apart much
just side panel, wiped some fans and vents
Oof
@pliant schooner https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jLqx3Z you're build with the motherboard and cooler you want
Still 500 under budget, nice
Lmao
k
I get a k after all that 😢
Yeah lol
I cba to change it tho
lmao srry thank for all your help @fossil cedar
How much should I be looking for a 980 ti, or a GTX 1070, and a R5 3600
You selling them off?
980 ti/1070 are pretty dam close in perf so like 300ish$ somewhere in that range, r5 3600 I'd say you could sell for 110$
I'd go like 125 for R5 3600
Thing is i reckon you could get 10400s for that price
But you may be able to go much higher like 175 with it, since most ppl don't even know 10400 exist
Some kid who watches ltt and stuff would prolly buy a 3600 for more than a new 10400
Fair lol
They actually stopped selling new 10400s :(
True true
overclock tho
Ehhh idk 10400 still better, just remove power limits
No ur still better
Heh get rekt
how much should i sell a 1080 for lmao
i havent kept up with pricing but i just swapped it for a 1650
.786 kidney
whats that in usd
kek really
Yee
1080 should go for about 300ish
Moar
350
i want to make the poors cry with my price level
gone up again 🙄
yems
530 doll hairs
Ill reduce the price
yeah ofc im not gonna get canadia doll hairs ew
canadian dolls have bad hair for sure
ye
1060
My build cost me about that much, too. Thank goodness for those stimulus checks.
My build list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rbcYj2
the price of your ssd makes me cry
and your mobo
They were costly, but worth it. I'm going to do some video editing with that machine, as soon as it mines me some cryptocurrency. I need to get some of my money back!
yeah, i mean i can understand the ssd then but the mobo is way too expensive
ahh well
its good just too many monies
I plan on getting an SSD and a decent monitor for it soon. I hope Black Friday has some good sales.
have you not already bought the ssd?
i would get a sk hynix p31 or pilot e
Thats a bad build
like really bad use of budget
coulda dropped it by 400$ without losing performance
I needed the USB ports on the motherboard for all of my USB devices.
Maybe added perf actually with a better cooler
200 mobo will get you that 🤷
The cooler perfoms wonderfully. I hit 5 GHz easily on single thread.
The x570 elite wifi has 1 less usb and costs 170-180 lmao
I need FAST USB ports.
coulda gone 200-300 mhz higher on a 360
USB 2.0 wasn't going to cut it.
I chose an air cooler so I wouldn't have to worry about leaks.
AIOs are sealed...
Seals can break.
they the same speed lol
8 year warranty tho
not really...
hey guys do u know of any cheap but good ram rgb?
aios dont just leak
That warranty only gets you a new cooler. It doesn't replace your wet parts.
ballistix rgb
The water they use in there is distilled
that means it doesnt conduct electricity
thx
also @grand geyser what all devices you using to need those speeds
what RPMs r good for gaming HHDs
I mean theres only really 2 rpms for consumer HDDs
but gaming HDDS arent a thing
its just HDD
7200 is faster tho
over 5400
5400 good?
thats the slowest HDD available to consumers
RPM wise
the only 2 options you really have are 5400 and 7200
Ballistix rgb
More likely for the pump to fail than leak tbh
Hes probably trying to justify his purchases imo
Probs
whatever we say is gonna have no effect
you dont need 11 usb 3 ports for your devices realistically
unless you have multiple VR headsets you use at the same time
It's okay, get the pilot e or mp34
No
paired with a 2TB hdd
Helix is bad
It's fine
pilot e is good
y? tho
It's just faster, and like 2$ more
^
Get the pilot e, it's cheaper and same perf
Pilot e is slightly better no?
Ehh sn550 better rand, pilot better sustained
800 hundo USD bugget
Get mp34 or pilot e then
Get mp34, it's 62$
Ohh actually
Sn550
Sorry it went up in price a few days ago
Get this ye
any cheap GPUs
Nope
cases?
@marble whale get a prebuilt if you're in the us
You can then get a gpu
For your budget
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PTYvbpR3MA can the first method/solution 1 harm anything on my pc?
@marble whale https://www.newegg.com/abs-computer-technologies-mage-e-ala106/p/N82E16883102696R?itemPosition=1-12&exactIndex=0 if you're okay with open box get this
No, solid front panel bad, p300a
Should I buy this for 66$ open box?
Neo air >
The model number matters more
And neo air has the 2 front fans so ez
You can't shop by ghz, get an i5 11400 and b560
