Dear god no
You need to use the Windows Media Creation Tool to make the USB and choose GPT as partition type when you format the disk
This is an m.2 drive, and I am upgrading my mobo from one without a slot for it
I have no way to format it as far as I know
During the windows install you can choose the partition type if it's a fresh install
Needs to be GPT
There should be option called format
I will look
Alright
How about I buy a i3 10100 pre built from acer, and put a gpu into that later
When the market stabilizes
@fossil cedar
Meh not for 600$
No no, not for 600
And most likely no support for gpu
Ayyy it’s installing the os now
Nice
Side question where can I get a cheap activation key?
Ebay
I've used it many times, no issues
Mmmmmm
Windows 10 pro for $3-$5
Non-authorized key sources are a no no here :/
It's a bit slow on delivery, but I always got it
If you pick a prebuilt you most likely wont be able to add a gpu, because of psu being too low and oems like going weird slim form factors that wouldn't fit the gpu
I can send the model
Of the prebuilt
Welp back to final week of math
Thank god
Btw you ain't gonna have a good time on integrated graphics
I'm just tryna play csgo with my friends like I used to
It will work just not great
dont pay that much for the psu
Probably with a gtx 1070 used
B560 instead of 460
Its in aud
Hmmm
The B460 MB can't handle 3200 mhz ram
2666 is the max with I5 processors
CX is higher quality than the CXM
Ok
worth adding that 11th gen and b460 are not compatible to begin with despite the same socket
@muted patio @coarse mesa
11th gen cpus are only compatible with H470, W480, Z490, H510, B560, H570, and Z590
Hmm
Getting closer
Alr thanks
Processor
AMD Ryzen 5 3400G with Radeon RX Vega 11 Graphics
Motherboard
Gigabyte B450M DS3H V2 (AM4) Motherboard
RAM
Kingston HyperX Fury RGB 16GB (dual) DDR4 3200 CL16 HX432C16FB3AK2/16
PSU
Enermax RevoBron 750W
quick question, is this good?
psu kinda bad
a higher quality 500w unit would be better than that low quality 750w unit
don't need much wattage for a 3400g build
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/NDH323/antec-case-lanboyairyellow man wish i grabbed this case
https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/list/yrcgW3 is this a good gaming pc build for a 2k (NZD) budget? (i have no idea what im doing)
in terms of PSU, would a thermaltake smart bx1 550w work? or should i got for a CV550 or EVGA 600BR instead? I think they're all around the same price range (50-60) and all 80+ bronze but i'm not sure which one would be most reliable/least likely to accidentally kill parts
looking at something like an r5 3600/rx 580 build so yeah
What parts are you running with it? I wouldn't recommend any of those TBH
Definitely not the BX1
let's see what's in your price range
i'm trying to get around 550-600watts around like $50-$60
Ya
i think there was a corsair one around 75 but i'm not really sure if i can spend that much on the psu
This is one of the few I'd recommend in that price range. https://www.newegg.com/evga-550-b5-220-b5-0550-v1-550w/p/N82E16817438167
out of curiosity, why do you recommend that one over the others?
Quality and testing
We have spent a good amount of time reading reviews and tests
XD
ah nice lol
Ya
thank you!
Power supplies are very confusing
ALL of the brands have good and bad models :/
Can't just pick a brand and be good in the PSU world
But then everyone would buy only one psu lol
That's why I didn't jump on the phanteks/Lian LI case and the noctura fan band wagon
Doing my first build and my monitor which I know works and the cables too won't detect the display can someone vc with me to help troubleshoot
It's official, I hate Corsair
Can't get the fans RGB to turn on
And can't get icue to download
It's downloading to a non-existent drive
rgb headers are directional
3 pin?
not proprietary
also yeah maybe try the rgb hub
connecting to the mobo
I'they don't connect to motherboard
Or else there wouldn't be any need for a hub
Of which I tried both of
And both sides
did you connect the rgb hub to the psu lol?
I even tried odds only and evens only for the hubs
Yeah
First thing I did
Might just sell em and get 3 more of the Antec fans and use the built in Antec hub
it's fine for a 3400g
a little low tier for upgrades though
i just hope you didn't overpay for it because it's 750w
I’ve been saving up for a build for a while, I’ve got about a 2k budget including accessories and monitors, not looking for anything super beefy but something that’ll run games like apex, valorant, ark, etc. smoothly without needing to turn down the settings. Anybody got any recs for graphic cards and motherboard?
3070/3070 ti (when it launches next month)
Most AMD B550 boards can handle a 5600X, which is more than capable for gaming.
Oh wait that's 2k including peripherals
How many monitors are you looking to get? A decent main monitor will be around $300-350 alone
Hey guys I'm looking to get an m.2 drive for my high end build, I'm having trouble choosing a brand and model, any recommendations based on personal experience?
budget?
how high end is high end
I7 10700k, rtx 3080
Thanks
enjoy
Just get the cheapest out of the category that says "for gamers" in the list tbh
You too
ehh he's got money
depending on whether or not he paid street price or retail for that 3080
might be a lot of money
still got the money to drop $15 on a better ssd
Yeh, I might
Fair, but that's mostly wasted potential. I guess you could look at it as future proofing for when we're streaming assets directly to gpu from storage.
This is my first build and I got it all figured out except drives
I don't really understand what makes some better than others
The different controllers are each better at different types of tasks
man you got a 3080 just drop the extra $15 on the better drive not like i'm recommending a 980 pro lol
Some are better at sequential reads, while others are great at mixed IO
$115 is not expensive
You know I don't really like Amazon cause they always charge taxes and im all about taxation is theft
But yeah a few extra bucks is worth calling it future proofing to me
I'm not even from the US
They charge local taxes according to where you live
If you lived in Oregon, there's no sales tax
I have an address in Miami where I get shipped all my stuff and it always gets taxed on amazon
Not on Newegg tho
What set do you have? LL120 3 pack?
my mistake its 700w... 😅 and someone bought it for me.
yeah not bad at all then
will DDR3 Ram work with B560M-A?
no lmfao
no
ram is still on the way 😩
It wont even fit the slot lmao
lel okay ty
@tight sorrel yeah
Should've asked before clicking buy
rip
no i mean i already have DDR3 the DDR4 ones are on the way
i got a B560M With I5-11400
But still waiting for the ram
I have the same set. The cabling is PITA.
- Each fan has 2 cables, 1 to the power module, 1 to the RGB module
- 2 modules, each with SATA power
- Connection between modules
- USB connection from 1 module to your motherboard USB 2 header
make sure all of that is connected
I have
Fans are plugged into motherboard for fan power, and the RGB hub for the RGB power
The hub is plugged into the PSU sata port and the other box which is also plugged into a PSU sata port and the motherboard USB port
I'm going to try swapping them with my sp120s
If that doesn't work, I'll bring em to a shop ik and sell/trade em
Should I get another one of the PSU sata cable lengths just for the RGB?
Too much power draw for rgb and then a Sata SSD?
I dont think you need to worry about oo much power draw. RGB and fans dont pull much, comparatively
Or well....SSD and then the rgb
are the fans not spinning at all? or are the light just not working?
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DkMMNP is this a good build? i do video editing(adobe) and gaming.
its actually a great build however some things you can change
Looks pretty nice actually
Ya, it does
maybe get a 4tb hard drive instead
330 is the average microcenter price but for that processor its pretty great
the ram isnt exactly what im gonna get since ram prices are all over the place
ballistix is good ram tho
im hoping at 150$ or below for 3200 speed cl16
you might have to wait a bit for that to happen
newegg be looking good though with their mail in rebates im doing
I got a total of 150$ off from 3 products for my pc
Ya, just don't forget to do them XD
I sent them in and they sent back saying My receit wanst good and now im tryna fix it
I couldn't do my evga rebate because they didn't send me the form
nope
i got nr600 for 50$, 3 enermax fans for 30$, and the 360m aio for 100$
im just exicted mostly about the 1tb ssd
Im on a 500gb now and ran out of space
also i think my hard drive is broken
its really loud.
Hm
Lights
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Ls7LTJ like if theres anything you feel should be edited pls let me know. like anything that can be better for a similar price.
Been slowly acquiring parts for my first build in 20 years. Flip-flopping between this build (I just noticed I changed the RX 6800 to a 5700 XT), or downgrading to something more budget friendly like a Ryzen 5 5600X/RX 5700XT combo. Storage can be tweaked, though I'd love to ditch platter drives. Fan setup would have the AIO run top slot exhaust, 120 rear exhaust, and either triple 120s or dual 140s in front. So, if it's not too much trouble, could I get drive recommendations? (500GB-1TB boot, 1TB M2 game drive, 2TB+ SATA for games/archive/etc.) Also, when it comes to the fan setup, which would work best with my case constraints? (There's an option to mount a bottom intake, but I've already had people convince me that's a bad idea.) Feel free to bash while I go fetch more coffee.
What do you need 64 GB of ram for? If you're not rendering or doing anything like that, 32 GB more than sufficient.
Gen 4 drives aren't needed, you won't notice between gen 3 or 4 so save some money there. Mushkin Pilot E 1TB is a good Gen 3 drive, SK Hynix P31 Gold if you want something that will outperform Gen 4 drives in Random IO (day to day stuff)
Could also save a bit more on the PSU with an Enermax Revolution DF 850W. 5700XT is a last gen GPU and not made anymore, near as I can tell. Shoot for a newer one.
EK 240MM RGB AIO will also save you $30
Toshiba X300 4 TB for large storage platter drive.
64 was slapped in because I've got a prospective seller for 4*16 at $300. Chances are if that doesn't pan out, I'll be happy with 32. (Forgot I'd spec'd that in as well.) As for the GPU, I'm chomping at the bit to grab a 6800 from AMD directly.
0900 EST or PT?
(I just read about this last week, but yeah, staying up all night watching my injured cat has put holes in the memory bank...)
9 AM PST
Ah, awesome. For some reason I thought it was 0600 PST/0900 EST.
Looks good 👍
sn750 sucks
intel 670p for $100 on newegg new meta drive for gamers
until its off sale
and it goes back to being priced like garbage
Even tho it's qlc?
Yeah doesn't it only have a certain amount of read and write before it goes to 💩
YEP
reads don't matter for nand flash wear
the 670P is fairly strong at sustained sequential for a QLC drive
it's almost pilot-E level performance
let me re-iterate that to
Ohh fair enough
its sustained sequential performance resembles something more like a burst optimized SM2262EN TLC drive (while being slightly worse)
and it's fairly strong in random mixed IO at light que depth
also lol
ssd endurance doesnt matter, it's going to outlast its TBW, and the average user isn't going to reach that TBW "limit" unless they are farming that dumb new crypto
Okay i see thanks windshields
no problem my gamer
what is the smallest case thats reasonable to build in. no gpu. using igpu with a i5-11600k for my dads pc he uses adobe
Adobe what?
For video editing you'd want a dgpu
Also smaller cases are usually more expensive if you're talking about itx
Ehhh, cpu encoding is slower than gpu but not too bad, but I would def put 8 core+ for any moderate video editing
Yeah but if they doing for work time=money so
Raspberry pi isn't even a case tho lol it's a whole kit
small matx cases
video editing
I would recommend not using a 6 core cpu for video encoding for no gpu
is there any small gpus that can improve the quality?
like having a gpu would be nice but i wanna make sure it fits in a smaller matx case
get a 10700/10900 and a b560 instead or a 10700k/10850k and a z490/z590
You can fit gpus in matx cases just fine
But the thing is getting a gpu
What is the budget
around 1000$ budget
What that should have a 3060 in there
You can add the 3060 in when you get but you should budget 400 for a 3060 imo
Or if not gpu then will you be overclocking cpu?
Then don't get a 11600k
i found a 11600k for 239$
Where?
microcenter
Ahh
then i can get any motherboard they got for 20$ less
If you're adding a GPU that's okay
Get a b560 motherboard
Will you be adding the gpu or no btw?
190 that's a rip off, buy one online
Not good deal
K cpus and z boards are only needed for overclocking
Gigabyte B560 AORUS PRO AX Intel LGA 1200 ATX Motherboard
It's not matx tho
well the k cpu is cheaper than the non k i
Why not 10700
The igpu in 11th gen has something that helps with encoding
so for those that were helping me out yesterday, the cheap psu arrived about an hour ago... ive had to downgrade to my 1050ti because it didnt have enough connections for my 1080ti 😦 but atleast my pc is now working and also trying to contact evga via the phone is impossible, ive been on hold all afternoon to the different departments... still waiting on an email back
So if you don’t have gpu
Yeah but if adding gpu anyway in the future and it's over budget
brb
Mb try 3200cl16 ram
Usually you'll get an email back after 24-48 hrs
No point in calling if you get through it might create confusion cuz you would have called and emailed but sure
Hmm Idk I think this is the lowest I would recommend for any decent video editing
If just 1080p light editing maybe less
You can knock 50 off cpu price since mc sells for like 230
Is psu mail in rebate?
Yeah and case
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/txYxMv id do this actually
Save 5$ on cooler cus they don't care bout looks
True
More storage would be more useful cuz editing
Hmm maybe throw in p12
It should be fine
I think you can really only have one intake one exhaust
Actually is there any matx cases might be able to save a bit?
Probs not
At that price
I think the cheapest decent one I know is versa h18 is like 50 or something
But it’s close to mid atx size
I’ve used that case, I’ve also used mb311l
@summer wing do you mind matx? Might help us bring down the price a bit
Hmm there’s that cheap cooler master case that’s absolutely horrid to work in
It is smaller tho
Imma leave the cases too you i hate anything smaller than atx because atx just so easy to build in lol
Can I get an evaluation on this build, was not too sure about the cooling. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DscXQD?
Do you plan on overclcoking?
looks alright, I know there's a few spots you could shave off a few dollars though
Ram is meh cooler is ott
a single TB of storage tho...
Better drives for same price
how many games you got in your steam library?
that's like, windows, rainbow six siege, and nothing else lol
I do plan on messing with overclocking. For the cpu and motherboard I'm buying from micro center for a 80$ less cost then shown on pcpart picker
Rip nr200 has hurt me mentally and physically
Had a bit, overwatch rainbow and programs i needed for coding/shcool
Okay i would get a scythe fuma 2 cooler instead
I am still of the opinion that you can't go wrong with 512gb ssd and a 2TB hdd
1tb is fine for most, 500gb is small for even casual gamers
that's why you get an HDD as well
For storage I can always add later no?
Yeah I need to move hdd from old pc
my 512gb has loads of free space
but do you really want to waste time doing that?
easier to get the best option now
True
I'm not too familiar with ram prices atm, I heard they going up tho, but generally, Corsair ram bad
do you already have a 500gb ssd?
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qMcXQD id do this
Yeah ballistix still king of 3600c16 pricing but not 3200
better
Wow nice I was looking at the crucial one
how about the case tho, 140 is kinda pricy for a basic looking phanteks case
P500a is pretty good
also I'm not sure if that's the mesh front or not
I'd do td500 mesh tho
Cool master right?
Yea I was actually up in the air between this one and the td500 mesh
Think it's cooler master that make td 500 mesh yeah
Td500 mesh is
You can top mount a 360 in it
Ohhh
matx is good
Enermax good?
Haven't heard much of anything about them
The enermax revolution df is one of the best
It's on the same platform as corsair rmx iirc
@rich helm matx suggestion?
Uhh let me look at pcpp
Looked at some review. Good point
Probably versa h15, versa h18, or for the smallness maybe Q300L
I hear h18 mention
Q300L is a pain to deal with the front IO
And just building it in general
Is very epic
option 1 I save money all around and transfer everything I can from Lenovo computer and my 970, option 2 I buy new mobo cpu ram and drive

this
am curious on board choice tho
They wanted small WiFi board
I assume he needs wifi,
Ye
yeah
Would have went matx board if not
could opt for a cheap matx plus pcie wifi card
depends on the number of cores you need
its a hobby not a job
is 6/12 enough, or would you benefit from 8/16
not me
my father
just his old apple desktop right now its very slow
loading pages
opening imovie
everything slow
11600k would be fine
It's for editing hence the 10700
don't think the extra 2 cores would make a difference
Well i think they'll be using with no dgpu for a while so?
11th gen igpu would come in handy
But 2 more cores would come in handier no?
not really
for gaming nah
look at the apple desktops from like 2014
thats what he has
we just need it to load faster and perform fine at 1080p-1440p video editing
monitor will probably be a 1440p one
It's not for gaming it's for video editing
I think the 11600k would be alright for that

I would go 10700 but up to you i suppose
included cooler so save another 40ish$
It would do in a pinch but would not let the cpu boost properly
And looses to 10700 in perf
from microcenter i can get the 3700x and Gigabyte B550M Aorus Pro-P for 400$ total
More money and less performance than 10700 and b560
that's terrible
Yesh
really? a 3700x at 279$?
Bad
11600k is like 260
3700x is worse than 10700
ok fine
And 10700 cheaper
And worse in single core than 11600k
And that's a also cheaper lol
Also that board doesn't have WiFi
where do u find it for 230$?
250$
they do the deal too where its 20$ off when u buy a mobo
Lemme see if they have any decent mobo
Yeah but the one b560m tuf is 150 on their site?
But that's a good mobo yeah
Not much extra over the b560 mini itx tho
But i guess you're getting for 130 so ntb
@summer wing https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gXnfBc this then, although you're adding 20$ onto the motherboard price
The other one is 20$ cheaper even with the 20$ discount
come on newegg I want my daily L mail
he doesnt need 32gb of ram tbh
For editing it is definitely wanted
No that psu is trash
i dont know any good cheap psus
S e g o t e p
lol
I gave you segotep
whenever i need a psu i look at enermaxs gold psus

what theyre good
Why get a more expensive cooler too
@summer wing that cooler is a downgrade, pilot e is basically just a mp34, except more expensive in this case
Yeah
Uhh are you editing 1080p then lol
THE ENERMAX REVOLUTION DF IS GOOD
They're ruining the one i gave it was pretty good
Ur budget is 1000 bro
Yes but it's not 50$
Also, pretty sure P31 500gb has a good sale rn
i was just saying
3060ti at 400$ isn't happening unless you win the lottery imo
Yeah lol
I guess I won the lottery then
Nice
My build is awesome
@modest vortex Love noctua fans
Thanks!
sli is ded
@stoic island am lazy can make build for 1000usd everything including monitor except for gpu
That build looks expensive a kingpin gpu?
I've got one for ya
sure gpu is 3070 already purchased
gpu parallelization can have its uses beyond gaming
hi
so u gonna sit all day dong benchmarks to justify wasting money lmao?
Just let people enjoy their builds
Nah I meant the wasting money comment
@sullen spoke https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MG2dQD
well it really is a waste tho lol
ty
Np
It’s not a waste, if people enjoy it tho
Expensive item to just sit there but to each their own
It uses more power, gives no benefit in 99% real world applications and in this market its one less gpu to go around
its a massive waste and the second GPU is basically only a flex not something thats actually used
so as i said
unless you're mining
useless waste of money
tru
I have to find another friend a second 3090 just for mining
guy said its only good for bechmarking tho lmao
You can't mine with 2 3090s in a case the case would melt XD
defi not a miner
you don't understand how many of my friends own 2 3090s for NV link or mining
All of us have 30s series cards now, partially thx to me
not proud of it, oil based city
Well not as oil based as Oklahoma city
By still pretty financially beneficial of oil industry
In my country 3900xt and 5900x are the same price but which one is better?
ah
5900x
Ok
5900x fosho
without a doubt
also btw at a 2000$ budget what are a couple of cpu gpu combos? USD
5900x anyday
You're dad doubled budget?
well im making 2 pcs
Selling my current pc then building new one then building dads later on
I already began with my pc as getting case, aio, fans
🤷♂️
So 2k is for gaming pc?
ye
What do you already have?
i7-9700k RTX 2060
well the gpus going to my brother
im selling him my pc
the plan is if i dont find a gpu ill just borrow the 2060 until i can find one
already late to sell the gpu
wdym
Yeah that's what i meant, use the 2060 til you can get better
just whatsa good gpu cpu combo for 2000$
5900x
i already have a 360m aio
What 360?
Should be okay
i guess the aorus elite mobo would be a good combo when its 144$
i dont need wifi
if u think of any better for a price like that lmk
also an ssd. im thinking of using the Mushkin Pilot-E 1 TB
I do mine on the side too tho
B550? If so yes that's decent, pilot e good
I'd recommend either msi mpg 650w if you plan on 3060 ti/3070, enermax revolution df 750w or 850w if 3080
You already have aio? Why add in the price
i bought it already
Ahh okay
bought
How much ram you want?
since ram can be upgraded easily i think ill do 16 (2x8)
im on 16 now and dont have problems
some times i even play r6 siege and photoshop at the same time
non rbg
since ill be diying the case
itll look better and youll barely see inside
well ill buy new ram
everything is gonna be newly bought
soo dont worry about what i got now
do the timings on ram really effect your performance?
not by that much but they do
get ballistix 3600cl16
cheapest 3600 ram and really good timings and overclock ability
ok
anyone want to help me spend $6000 to build a Solidworks machine?
I would butim on mobile rn
Maybe a 32 core threadripper and a Quadro 4000
No worries! I have a couple days to finish the proposals
And like 128 gb ram
I was thinking the i9 11900k with 64gb ram. backed by a 1200w psu and a quadro rtx5000 video card
and a pair of Samsung 870 QVO's @ 4tb each in raid...
I mean isn't a 8 core processor too less for the work station
The setup is a stand alone SolidWorks unit
Oh
Everything is going to be done on that one machine so I need to pack as much "future proofing" into it as I can.
If the work station is going to be used for cpu intensive tasks then u might wanna get a better cpu
Oh ok
Then don't go i9 cuz its 14 nm
Idk that much about work stations but I'm pretty sure 16 core or 24 core processors will be good
ryzen 9 5950x x570 motherboard around 200-250$ 128gb of 3200cl16 ram quadro, pilot e 2tb x2 enermax revolution df 850w
PugetSystems has a break down of recomended hardware for SolidWorks. However, I am not familure with the application... so I come to yall to get answers...
Let me see if I can find whether cpu intensive or not
Yes it’s very cpu intensive
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2ThQbh hmmm how to price cut this
Nah I saw graph and threadripper does take a big performance leap over 16 core
did u just set everything to most expensive
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/X6z3Dc @stark yacht I think this should be pretty good, you can upgrade to 256gb of ram later if you need more
Since the stuff I saw showed that cpu is the heaviest limiter
Is there a tool to simulate a benchmark test using specific software?
No, I am using the Pugeot Systems and SolidWorks benchmark and testing results to help inform my decisions... I'm no noob... just not up to par on modern hardware
nvm then
no its a professional 6000$ build
A 32 core threadripper should handle pretty much almost everything you throw at it
thats like 7k was budget not 6k?
Oh rip, some reason my brain didn’t see that, hmm maybe 24 core threadripper
mb yeah
at least i think i saw 6k budget
Yeah
might as well pop an arctic liq on that if the budget is there i guess
@stark yacht https://pcpartpicker.com/list/m6HHgt if you can go around 400$ over budget get this, if not get this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JbJLTJ
Just realized that the mobo is ATX and not EATX do doesn’t require full ATX case lol
ehh no harm getting 5000d airflow anyway lol
also the trident z royal 3600 was cheaper for some reason lol
why only the rtx 4k?
Because they have a budget lol
Tr is more important
Also idek if there is 5k
ohttps://www.nvidia.com/en-us/design-visualization/quadro/rtx-5000/
Shatter the boundaries of what’s possible with the NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000.
Price?
one sec
They would be better getting the 64 cores anyway lol
Ooof screw that
Would be bad for gaming but yeah
Hi. I need some help if anyone knows about small sized rigs... I bought a MSI Trident 3 Gaming Desktop,10th Gen Intel Core i5-10400F Processor,32GB DDR4 RAM,1TB SSD Plus 1TB HDD,6GB NVIDIA last year and Skyrim is running at 12fps!!! Of course, it's heavily modded.... but still. I want to upgrade the vid card to 12 gb --- did some looking but am worried about the fit. Currently have a geForce 1660 Super
1080p?
Also vram wouldn’t be the main limiter
Probably just the gpu itself
3840 x 2160
There’s your problem, 1660 super can’t handle 4K gaming at all
it's my 60" tv
Whenever I start up my pc my ram lights start flashing so rapidly it’s literally about to give me a seizure is that normal?
descale it
Suggestions?
And now it’s saying my cpu is overheating when my screen was just going mayhem
or, what is ur budget for a new gpu? if u want 4k
Okay - need newb talk for that one
Essentially play at resolution lower than tv resolution
descale it down to 1080p. should be in the game settings
Zero dollars. Ha ha. But I was hoping around 300
Uhh yeah downscaling is pretty much the only option
yeah, u cant get a better gpu than the one u have for that budget, just play at a lower revo
Okay. Say I've got 500.
500 plus selling your 1660 super could land you a 3080 if you can get a cheaper one ina shuffle
Yeah... everything appears to be sold out.
Rgb is a mess but no you could try reseating
Shuffle?
The Newegg shuffle
What temps? What cpu what cooler?
Still need or no
its somethign u enter to for a chance to buy a card
Kk
I got one
I forgot how to check temps, I have some kinda thing downloaded to check but idk what it’s called
So a whole new system might actually be easier?
Hw info 64 or hw monitor?
Hw stands for hardware
Ehh, probably not. Prebuilt with 3080 probably going to cost more than whatever your current pc is worth + 500 dollars
Download hwinfo 64 @raw crane
Oh I have that
@little osprey you might be able to land a 3070 prebuilt but would be hard pressed
What temp was your cpu getting
So getting a video card seems to be pretty impossible though... and about 700
And is the card itself to big for my rig?
It's not really the price it's more the availablity
It's easier to get a prebuilt with a better card because they are actually in stock
Sometimes
I haven’t looked at your case but one of the smaller ones might fit?
Okay. Not sure what a smaller one is....
MSI little baby
It doesn’t show me where the temps at? @fossil cedar
Sensors
It says detecting sensors then it tells me program isn’t responding
Is it supposed to take a long time for it to load sensors
Hmmm

Mb try close and reopen
I did 😢
Try uninstall reinstall
yes
it takes up to a minute
sometimes
you got the latest version yeah?
I believe so
Okay did that
Hopefully it works now
Yeah no it’s taking way too long and it still doesn’t work
Try hw monitor then
Good now
Ended up getting this one, thanks
When choosing a display port cable does it matter the brand or are they all the same?
Version 1.4 or higher
Thanks
Yes for gaming, Idk what res, I currently have a laptop, never had anything more
Do I need to change anytrhing to get that?
Not really
I am new to PC building, the most frames on average I get is 8 frames.
But is it an ok build?
Swap the CPU with something like 10600K.
Maybe a 10400 if you want to save money and you don't want to overclock.
You could also go 11th gen and go with 11400.
would i overclock with the 10600k?
If you wanted.
i wouldnt want to overclock anything
i have a list rn, just seeing if it was okay
Yeah 10400 or 11400 is good to save money if you're not overclocking.
I think a prebuilt would be best for you
no RGB, only requirement
gpus are super hard to get rn
i dont want the RGB tho
just turn it off?
Yes prebuilt is fine.
any good prebuilts?
then just buy prebuilt and shut off rgb
ez
yea ill take a look at whats in stock rn
bc it'd be a few months before i got it
ah
Prebuilt is a good option for beginners you can learn from how the prebuilt is built.
And in the future they are usually upgradable when you're ready to start getting in to PC building more as you learn.
Reason: Bad word usage
i jsut dont wanna get a poopy prebuilt
its pretty decent and gives you some room in budget to get a nice monitor
If my graphics card I'm getting requires 1 6 pin and 1 8 pin, and my power supply only had 2 6+2 pin cables, then I can't use that psu right?
you can
How?
^
You sure?
yes
Yes
100%
Techie approved.
yeah no prob
would this work in that pre built? https://pcpartpicker.com/product/mwrYcf/seagate-barracuda-computer-2-tb-35-7200rpm-internal-hard-drive-st2000dm008
yeah sorry I read it and zoned out for a sec lol but yeah it will work in it
I dont recommend seagate too much but
they have a cheap drive so its fine for a mass storage/game drive but dont count on it for long term reliability
lemme see if I can find the WD blue 2TB 7200rpm
id recommend this over that @meager saffron
WD much better than Seagate.
I've seen many Seagate drives die.
WD drives in my experience last longer.
ty
would this one be maybe better? i see its $100 more https://www.newegg.com/abs-ali490/p/N82E16883360085?Item=N82E16883360085 or not worth it compared to first one. sorry im asking all this, i've never gotten anything like this i want to be aware of my options
Back at my old job I used to take apart hundreds of Dell rebuilt optiplex desktops and it was always Seagate failing.
Well it has a 3060.
That's more or less what you're paying a little extra for.
Speel
imo not much better
unless u need more cores
if ur just gaming just get the one with the 10400
may i ask what cores do/or for
I mean more cores help with like video editing or streaming
but like 6 core cpu like that 10400 can handle it fine but if you are doing more professionally it would be better to have more cores
i mean in time it would be my work and personal pc
ok ty a lot, i very much appreciate it
lemme look at this other website real quick and see if its better value
and no problem
now i just have to tell my friend the build he made is bad
id recommend getting a high refresh monitor if you dont already have one
ah then maybe you could go with the 10400 /3060 one and put that $200 towards a monitor
as of right now I think the best value is this one. (one sec grabbing link)
I just got my first job so all this stuff is awaze out
aa im looking for it but the one I found was open box so thats no good
open box can be fine sometimes but I wouldnt personally
i dont trust them and usually warranty isnt effective
Check this out on @Newegg: SAMSUNG Odyssey G5 C32G57T 32" WQHD 2560 x 1440 (2K) 1 ms (MPRT) 144 Hz HDMI, DisplayPort FreeSync Premium Curved Gaming Monitor https://www.newegg.com/g5-odyssey-gaming-monitor-lc32g57tqwnxdc/p/N82E16824022909?Item=N82E16824022909&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-24-022-909-_-05202021
Sale right now.
$300
32 best more immersion.
eh
And it's curved.
also curve

curve is meh
i know you guys are being really helpful, but are there thats any cheaper? or is that about what they run for
There's hundreds of monitors.
I mean those are just the best value right now to pair with your system
Yes
I have another thats like $160 rn I think but its 1080p
🤢
im not a heavy heavy gamer
its a lot smaller
yeah true but a 1440p monitor is a lot better imo
to pair with that system
i currently have 15" laptop so anythings better than this
24 inch is too small imo
I think 24 is nice size
Nice for secondary, 27in gaming is where it’s at
Well i have my monitor quite close to my face tbf
I only sit about a foot away
How do you fit keeb and mouse on desk lol
okay, thank you all a lot, i appreciate it so much!
Will be my first custom build
Nice
Yeah it’s tight
I've just got a black widow
I like it like that idk
When I'm typing for a while i sometimes move back a bit but 24" is still plenty
24 was a big upgrade when I first got it cause I was using 19 in monitors
Yeah i was using some old dell monitor at first
That's what it looks like when im typing/coding(sometimes)
Bit further back
Fair
I redid my cable management a few months ago was tired of the wires on the ground and it's so much better
I don't care much for cords, my monitors are elevated and I run my cables thru the monitor stand
Troll 🙄
I'm glad I helped someone today.
Posted my cable management
@void raft did you post multiple times?
Had one failed upload, but there's 15 total pics @little osprey
@little osprey fixed it
Apparently Discord uploaded 3 of the same set
Oi
Oh boy I'm here again
It's like I cant learn
Should I use mbr or gpt for a samsung 870 ssd
Oook
Yoooo
You're finally back in this server
I'm here. Haven't left. Just so swamped with builds that I forget to post most times.
Lol never not busy around here lol. Charity never stops.
Working on doing my best to inspire those around me to help others become PC gamers.
Nice
More PC gamers = More better
