if it is, just reset cmos

take out the battery, wait a couple minutes and put it back, should fix it

as a test, try one ram stick by it self in the second slot (second closest to the cpu)

then try the other one

if they both work individually, its prob some weird xmp file where the two sticks arent running at the same speed

if only one owrks the other one is likely defective

btw try them individually on the same slot

Hello everyone, I have a problem. So a friend of mine gave me their laptop to try to fix it. It turns on but then no display. I reseated the ram and it booted. This is we’re things get weird for me anyway. When I would have the back of the laptop off, the pc would boot no problem, but as soon as I put the back panel back on it goes right back to having problems

Those things get flexed and compressed constantly when you move the screen hinge. If you're lucky the connector is just loose and can be taped in place.

Change ram to balistic ram and aio is fine if you are ok with paying for the rgb of corsair but there are cheaper ones like ek aio that has rgb and better too

Eh, I have the parts for a new desktop. I might down the line try fixing the screen as a side project, but this laptop has been on steady decline for a while. I haven't been able to actually close it for a couple of years (hinges froze it in the open position), the plastic frame around the screen is cracked, one of the keys on the keyboard has been busted since 2018, and it is just showing its age in general. I've had it since 2016.
