What CPU do you intend to run on the board?
Just not ATV
MATX and ITX are not the same guy
5800x
Ok gimme a bit
Thats why I said or
ok, so you can actually fit a full ATX if you wanted
Yeah but i don’t think I can mount 360 aio on top
youre right. but mATX boards are much more affordable than iTX boards
Ikkkk 😞😞😞
I mean any board you choose gonna start at the top anyway
You can 100% fit in a 360 with an atx
in that case
atleast from what im seeing
gimme 2 mins
Really? Idk... what I hve rn is z73 and gskill trident z
nah dude. some of us sort by prices ascending, cos we not rich 😉
You indeed have no clue what you are on about
Form factor isnt = price
what does this mean if not price?
Orientation in case lmfaoooo
No
right, then you need english lessons
yeah.. show me the context of ORIENTATION anywhere in our discussion
Yeah all the builds on the lian li product page for the case have an ATX board with a 360
literally the line below the one you got confused at???
Yep gimme a second
Tyty
ATX would
and what does an 360 rad have to do with mobo ORIENTATION??
I was gonna het msi mpg b550 gaming edge
you want me to send an ATX board for 180usd ish?
Sure
What part of it doesnt?
all of it. thanks and regards
So basically you gonna let the rad bounce around in ur case
you indeed are stupid
enjoy the block
Gigabyte B550I Aorus Pro AX
If you are set on ITX
Otherwise a b550 aorus pro do be looking nice
@grim smelt
Nice board, it's not itx tho, heard you where talking about that
Not great for the price
or for a 5800X
Its a good board
just not a great one
agree. its quite crap.
what I find acceptable is that you dont need it to run all the time. Change RGB settings, then close dragon center
Yeah, that is a plus I guess
rgb fusion has that too. advantage being its a solo app not like asus armory or dragon center
I wish I could use mystic light without the dragon center, but it doesn't work. I tried it.
yeah.. they changed it last year. ML used to be its own thing.
I honestly cant figure out the reasoning behind it. I dont use DC for ANYTHING else. Its got a whole bunch of stuff that I just cant be bothered to look into
Yeah
meh, they're doing a thing of consolidating their software
I used most parts of DC before, it's just annoying
Their OCing is just yikes
fan curves like to be overwritten
I do from time to time, but it's quite annoying when it seems like it's just being overwritten by bios fan curve
Can definitely see why that would be annoying
well thats a fail
yo I am wondering if i should get a 3070 or a 3060ti ?
Whatever you can find for closest to msrp
230$
better than amazon scalp prices
I went to check on my other video card I have and that sucker is running up to 430 bucks!
That's a third party scalper
yeah it is
ughh. google trickery is in full display today
it's actually not a bad card when you think about it
For $430? Can get a 3060 for that
third party?
$430 for a 1650 is highway robbery
anything new today??
Gigabyte day
Zotac 3090..bruh..
i dunno, next build I'm doing is a mini build
Everything is still out of stock. Sucks for everyone lol
Maybe once I have this last college assignment behind me I'll treat myself by finally putting my new computer together. (I totally don't have a paper due by midnight I'm barely half done with.)
Even if I don't finish, I'll turn in what I've got. Partial credit is better than a zero.
Prof doesn't accept late work?
Nope. The turn-in will disable at midnight.
Sad
Eh, it's not rated as being worth half my grade. I figure worst case it'll knock me down to a C from a B.
Where do I find this special keeb that doubles my wpm
Keychron K8 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard. Tenkeyless Layout. Wireless or Wired. and users can hot swap every switch in seconds with the hot-swappable version. Compatible with Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, Linux. Keychron Optical or Gateron Switches. Connect up to 3 devices. 15+ RGB Backlight
I really want to grind and hit 120wpm on my k8 when I can though
in 60s
yes
and can sound decently
and has wireless
and has hardware controlled rgb
and has hotswap
Was going to get c1 hot swap but out of stock
:(
What switches do you have in your k8
right now, T1s
I still have no idea about switches
Idk what switches to get
Was thinking like gateron blacks
I like tactile
Hey guys can someone build an 1000 amd budget
My is using it for gaming and school work
Go intel at that price
But sure
Make both
What about an amd
Only reason to go amd would be if you already had a b450 or b550 board because you would have to overpay for worse performing r5 3600
I see
My highest is 108 wpm
Ok thx
What?
Is the build u have me good for gaming and school work
Oh they were talking above about it lol
That’s all he wants to do
Yeah
Ok thx
3060 or 3060 ti founders edition if you're really lucky
Ohh i thought you were talking to me not mr1111 and ness lol
Tactile or Linear
Why do you want matx? Matx boards fit in atx cases
He wants a micro ATX
Also you pay a premium for smaller cases
Mine is like 65wpm 30s 60wpm 60s
Who does
you can yeet the wpm it up
Ehhhh matx cases that are good that i know of are at least like 2x the price of the p360a afaik
You pay a premium for wifi mobo too
Wdym
b550m pro vdh wifi
You pay more for a board with wifi
They going intel
b560m pro vdh wifi
Ok
I think lian li 205m is cheap ish but i don't think it comes with fans so you'd want to pop in a 5 pack or arctic p12s in the list which will bring the build to about 1.1k with the wifi mobo
Yeah
It can do 3600
How just wondering
It just only officially supports 3200
Just regular xmp enabled on intel 11th gen works
I have no idea of my typing speed these days. Been a long time since I measured it
A minimalistic, customisable typing website. Test yourself in various modes, track your progress and improve your typing speed.
I wish I could type fast so I can type full paragraphs in game chat between rounds
🙂
Or debate with friends more efficiently
heh
Device manager, right click the chipset driver and go to properties
Yeah, that's part of the Gigabyte software stuff
Which, is honestly kinda bad like Armoury Crate and all the others.
i was trying too update drivers and the app thats in it
Ya, just head to mobo makers website for your motherboard and get them there
just d/l the drivers from the site or amd/intel
The software updaters like that don't always grab the latest drivers either :/
case in point: amd chipset drivers
I use driver booster tbh never had any problems with that, ik would be better to do manually but im lazy lol
Even DB doesn't always grab the newest ones
But chipset drivers should be straight from intel/amd
I have the stability settings on anyway tbh
yes however in asus case they have their own
Why tho
Nah, i have Asus and use the AMD drivers direct from AMD
That's what i thought
Ya, uninstall that Easytune stuff
Reeeeee-boot!
can the install finish?
society if no bloatware
i dont think so
No
Tactile
Reboot=restart
oh i did like 3 times
Uninstall whatever app this is lol. Get the drivers manually
Yeah what is that
thats the aorus software
I think it's Gigabyte App Center
Yeah uninstall that
if you need something for the RGB, just get RGB Fusion
will sata powered fans always run at 100%?
example: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/yXfFf7/placeholder-
i need it too control fans
You have 3 speed choices
low/med/high
I think it's controlled by the remote
It is
ohhh hm didnt even see that
Looking for a low profile cpu cooler any suggestions
For what cpu
Oh damn 5950x shuffle
I5 6600k
What case?
Open case
SOmething like this maybe? https://www.amazon.com/Noctua-NH-L9x65-Premium-Low-Profile-Cooler/dp/B00VB3Y89E
Prob smth like a nh-l12s for low profile
Keywords in that link lel
why
Do yk y the fan is under the fins
For NH l12s? You can do either above or below
Do yk if its better to have it below?
It's basically the same, below is just less tall
@lavish hazel just scroll through here
https://noctua.at/en/products/cpu-cooler-retail
Having received more than 6000 awards and recommendations from leading hardware websites and magazines, Noctua's heatsinks are serving hundreds of thousands of satisfied customers around the globe.
I did a psu photoshoot😫
Boom?
I mean I’m not using them so no
They are lucky I didn’t destroy it in my video...
80 plus brown
🤔
I get my review sample Monday lets goo
So I have a msi b550 gaming plus would some of the Sata ports be disabled if I hook up a nvme ?
It shouldn't, no
oo shuffle time
Five years ago, I built a windows 7 machine with parts from Newegg. Have had zero problems with it. but now with windows 7 going away I must upgrade to windows 10 also planning on installing an SSD. So, I am thinking if I install a new SSD I can install any windows 10 build software and then set that up just like a new build. I'm obviously an infant when it comes to tech, so I would appreciate any input from those more savy. thanks FMStewart
Yep you can do that
Msi rtx 3080 gaming x trio msrp?
I saw in the internet it was like 750 but I dont believe it
It was before Tariff
Taxes
yo guys
Tariffs are a tax on imported goods
Ok
In the US we have a very high tariff against China right now that raises prices a lot on many different goods
do header extensions work
Taxes in Germany arent bad
Vat is sales tax for us, it's called import dury here btw
If it's usb 3.0 yea 2.0 dont think
Like shipping from here to the us cost like 30-100
The USB spec officially supports 127 devices on a single 2.0 port, provided each device is externally powered or the hub is powered.
Just get a hub.
Just order from Germany like caseking etc no point in shopping in us, also you'll have to pay import duty on top of that shipping of a fair bit
Or anywhere else inside eu
Will be cheaper
Especially since the us prices don't even include sales tax
Easy solution to US sales tax: live in Oregon or another state with no sales tax
Or at least live close enough to drive there...
Kind of hard to do when you're in Germany tho lol
Po box smart
I know, just saying that's part of the reason taxes aren't included. Each state and territory has its own sales tax laws and sites can't always reliably tell where you are based on IP, so it's hard to give an accurate price up front.
Ohh yeah it's a bit weird each state has diff tax
My grandma lives in Oregon, I'd just have it sent to her and make a vacation out of the trip.
Also dont see why they wouldn't at least include the prices in physical shops
Touche
That's where things get weird. Some places do include sales tax, like gas stations and coffee shops.
Yeah I know
What's the best bang for the buck top 360mm aio pc case?
When i visited Florida a few years back i was just so confused being like okay now i have to add 8% on to this in my head because i wanted to buy a refurbished nexus 6p in best buy while i was there lol
Td500 mesh
Or if not available in Germany for around 100€ a phanteks p400a i think allows 360 or corsair 4000d but they're overpriced in Germany when i was looking for mine
Ok
Meshify C can do a front 360 rad if your GPU isn't too long also
Theres a discount for me from 114 to 85€
Not bad
I'm looking for a 3080 gaming x trio
Nice
3080 is probably too long, let me double check. My 2070 was too long to fit a rad on front.
Don't look at specific models, just look for 3080s as they're hard to find
Td500 mesh allows top mount 360 tho
What case you have atm?
I'm dont wanna buy the gpu now
The meshify c I mentioned
Ohh woops I'm blind lol
I've had it for a while, been great up until I put tons of high end stuff in it lol
If you have a gpu atm imo just wait about looking
Fair it's a nice case but more mid range than high end i think
Yeah current market you should buy the GPU first and worry about everything else later
Thanks for the help
It was perfect when I just had a 2700 and a 1060 in it, but I'm hurting for more options now with a 5800X and 3090, both on liquid cooling 😫
I think I'll need to get a 1440p 144hz-165hz monitor too bc the monitor I have now is the asus vs248hr
Ahhhh
Welp I hope it was 8gb or less
Didn't line up notch, broke ram slot. ouch
He was too busy holding the fking Camera 😂😂
Yeah a bit toasty
No kidding. I'm not blowing the heat from the GPU through the CPU rad so both are intake. The heat coming through the vents and exhaust is ridiculous, hot enough that I can't sit too close or I'll get blisters.
My birthday is in 10 days I wish for gpus in stock for good prices😂😂😂
jsut ask for money, and buy it when price go down
I know I'm getting 100€ from my grandma she gives me that much every year
Ohh holy 💩 that's not good
guys what's the point of the i5 10500? the 10400f is such a better value and the 10600k has amazing performance
10500 is a 100mhz bin over 10400
Also the f has no integrated gpu
Hi, I have a friend who has a 970 in his spare pc. Should I offer 60$ for it?
hi all im a novice and i am looking for a desktop to support 3 monitors any advice on buying or building one
That would be an absolute steal i sold my 960 equivalent for €170
You'd be undercutting them quite a bit. The lowest I see on ebay for a 970 is $200
What's your budget and use for the pc?
Anything with a GPU will support 3 monitors, it really comes down to how you plan to use it
mostly work but i am looking into online gaming
What resolution and what type of work?
Like just an email machine or cad or something like that ?
checking distribution orders
0920 x 1080 right now
ops 1920
no live hat, phone calls, video meetings
chat
Alright so nothing intensive
Are you looking for a prebuilt i assume?
And what's your budget @little osprey ?
So there is this guy on OfferUp, should I try and trade my 2700x for the 570 + one of the ram kits?
You'll need to offer cash on top of the CPU, even back in time if both were new the GPU alone costs more
That is grossly overpriced, I'd rather buy an overpriced 1650 super for that price and corsair ram is meh you can get ballisitx 3600cl16 brand new for 10$ less
Than the white kit anyway
I said trade now buy
Right, the 2700X isn't worth much at all right now. You'll need to offer cash + CPU for the GPU.
Back in the day used ram like this would be 40-60$ and a new 570 would be like 120-160$...
Used 570 would have been like 60-100$ too lollll
The good old days😞
Yeah i wouldn't pay more than 200$ or equivalent for 570 if you're really desperate also ballistix and team ram is available for about 70$ iirc
I’m not desperate I just think it would be a good trade
The RAM is a bad deal and the GPU is outperformed by similar current priced cards
And tbh noone wants a 2700x atm they're fairly cheap
If I were to sell my 3200c16 kit it would be for like $40
Once again I would try and trade I’m not gonna go out and pay 400$ for a 570
Cheapest 3200cl16 is oloy 75$ atm so
A bit🙃
You'd have to pay like 300$ cash and a 2700x
If you offer just the CPU the guy is either going to troll you and laugh or just not respond
Yeah it's not that much lol like 10-20$ per 16gb
“Laugh”
Yeah
He’s the one who has a 400$ 570 listed
Which is a lot more than people in my local area are willing to pay
Yeah but he knows someone is probably desperate enough to buy it for 400 or at least 350
Wait that's it
Yeah lol
Ok yeah actually in my country I can't switch to amazon merchant in pcpartpicker
There is only new egg
I can't get the amzon prices
pcpp isn't perfect, it can't index everything
No but it's pretty damm good, better than a wall of text or searching every independent retailer lol
There is Amazon...but pcpp won't let see the amazon prices
Yes but it does have its flaws still. It can be slow updating prices, doesn't include things like newegg promos, and doesn't find everything at every retailer that has it.
Fair
I do agree it's much better than doing everything yourself, but you still might need to do some work.
Fair
For example, it said the RM850x was out of stock but I clicked the corsair site and it was there
Which rm850x tho😫
Maybe over the summer I'll try make a more efficient part picker if i don't end up finding a job
That would be a hard/fun project
What do you mean, there's only one RM850x. The other models are named differently.
2018 model, 2021 model...
They only sell the new model on their website
Uhh Filtering products in pcpp was sooo easy
Oh ok
Yeah the pcpp filters are fantastic, especially considering Amazon filters are total trash and painful to work with
hey guys, i just got a 240hz monitor and its only giving me 120 as an option, its hooked up to an HDMI
HDMI which card
You need displayport for that refresh rate usually
Has to be HDMI 2.1 from card to monitor for that to work
yeah or dp 1.4 i believe
does dp even give sound tho?
Yes
i would go dp all day then
idk
Yes
Displayport is needed for freesync/gsync on most monitors too
Yeah hdmi is only there for backwards compatibility now
Cuz you won't get more than 30-60fps😂😂
yes you can
with the new consoles you can
but older gen is a no go
Aren't they locked to 60 like all ofem
nah they go up to 120
sheesh
Niceeee
RGB?
Sort of, it has the "ambiglow"
i still have a 720p 60hz tv
Hmm acceptable
Thunderbolt is good but it's proprietary and basically isn't a feature on amd as it was developed by intel and apple
It's on a few boards but tends to be VERY expensive
What is TB
Thunderbolt
thunderbolt
Ahh shit..
Yeah but theres like 2 x570 boards that are like 300 or 400$
More prevalent on B550.
Ohh well they're v expensive boards anyway lol
for now ill stick with hdmi and dp
Dp is
Tbh most cable companies still stream 720p 30hz anyway
Is that a video capable TB port?
Ohh didn't realize it wa on tuf
Ahh
Or port on the case
MOst boards are like that though TBH
have a header, need the ports themselves
Well video capable tb is a bit more rare
I meant the actual usb c port like
Especially because it has to do some trickery with taking the signal from the gpu or whatever
Yeah I'm not sure about that part
It should with an APU right?
The thing is there's very little thunderbolt capable display things on amd boards especially
Thunderbolt 3 has been around since March 2019
Thunderbolt 2 was october 2013 lol
(TB 2 included a displayport combined with PCI lanes)
I remember looking that up for someone before and Asrock had one, but didn't sell it separately. There might be another one around now, though. I'll look.
I'm trying to google for one and yeah all I find are sketchy looking amazon ones lol
Think edizy or something like that on Amazon might have one too, I've never used an adaptor of theirs but i have their fan hub
Yeah it's a very niche product too
Cable mod seem to have a 25$ extension if you want that lol
Oof really?
I thought they were reliable
Well i mean they were probs asia horse or so no name brand
Where they cable mod ones though?
Yeah fair
They have a bad reputation
Fair
25$ is a lot for a usb cable too lol
Neither of those for 2K. Can do so much better on the CPU and ram and most other things
And lets be honest you're not getting a 6700xt for 480$ unless it's from amd.com directly and performs closer to 3060 /ti
What to you mean how?
nvm
Use my one please for your own sake
@zealous cipher can you start by explaining why you chose those parts?
ok fine
seagate barracuda 2tb drives, go to bitwits pcpartpiciker video
ahem
So I've noticed that my computer isn't running games quite like it used to and I'm looking to get some upgrades for it but I'm really not sure what to upgrade. I've been having really bad loading issues as well as in-game lag. Any help is much appreciated. I've been playing a lot of Tarkov lately and Having major issues while in-game as well as being completely unable to play warzone anymore if that gives any ideas of what I'm looking to be able to do. If you think I should add something to the list below just let me know and I'll add it! Thanks!!
GPU- MSI GTX 1080
Motherboard- MSI Z370-A Pro
CPU- Intel i5-8600k @ 3.60 GHz
Corsair 16GB RAM DDR4 2133 MHz
Corsair h100i Cooler
EVGA 650w Power Supply
not a toshiba drive
4 different SSDs, why?
Msi aio isnt good
3 of them are vulcan drives, and an 860
what? I'm saying the x300 is a better option for cheaper than 2 separate barracuda drives
Yes, Vulcan G drives are dramless and crappy nand, and a 250gb 860 doesn't really make much sense..?
And all 1tb
Toshiba makes some of the best drives out there
Why not grab like double pilot e 2tb's if you want
It's just
separate drives are wack
(and also the drives themselves kinda sad)
O11 d isnt good for air cooling
Well, to start off, I'd look at the ram, make sure you have 2 sticks for dual channel, and just grab faster ram
Next, loading time issues sounds like you need a new SSD.
You could upgrade the cpu, to a i9 9900k so you don't have to do a mobo swap
Also swap the ram for some 3200mhz cl16 ram
But yeah ssd and faster ram first
I have one SSD for my OS, and 2 SSD's running in raid for my main games. Then a Hard drive for whatever else. I'm not sure what dual channel means
yes I believe. I know off the top of my head that they're Samgung 250gb
dual channel = 2 sticks, double the bandwidth since you saturate both memory channels available to the CPU
Weird setup
ah, I do have 2 8gb sticks of ram
Dual channel means that your 2 sticks are in the slots furthest away from cpu break, ram stick, then break then the other ram stick
Makes it run faster
example nice sticks
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083V93HJG
XMP is a bios setting btw
Looks like they are in the 2nd and 4th slot for the ram.
Would 3600 even post on an 8th gen cpu?
@zealous cipher Next, O11 is just not good for airflow, until you stuff 9 fans in there, which means closer to 250$ down the drain just for case and fans
why not?
Bleach showed me some 4133mhz cl12 OCs earlier today on a 8800k
That means its running in dual channel, good, you might want to check if xmp is enabled in the bios tho, those sticks could easily be rated for 3000 mhz just don't have the option turned on
Oh dam
8700k but yea
https://hwbot.org/submission/3886753_dancop_superpi___32m_core_i7_8700k_4min_7sec_609ms
Fair enough
Wow, 4133c12, v nice
12-12-12-28
Going into bios now
yea, real nice
Those timing are tight af, how?
Nice
LN2
So it's actually 3000mhz thats what i thought
prob b die fun
That's what i assumed but how do you use it on ram when ram is vertical
actually, now that I think about it
I don't think it's b die that scales with lower temps
might be djr or smth
So I don't need to do anything in the bios?
rev e I think did well in cold
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FH93Jf @stoic island i dont need 8 cores
all i need is something decent for 1440p gaming
Get cheaper ram
That's stuffs overpriced
Ballisitx should be decent 3600 c16 in terms of price
@zealous cipher SSD wise, just go P31 1tb and a Pilot E 2tb if you want lots of storage, or single P31 1tb will be just fine for boot
So just turn the bench on its side or?
@zealous cipher PSU wise, swap for Revo d.f. 850w, it's cheaper, it's higher wattage, it's better quality, it's multi-rail.
I literally put you together a fixed build, mb work off that if you wanna make any changes
Is it cheaper rn?
115$ afaik
Yeah it's 115
theres a promo on wegg
When you're benching the mobo is always flat down
Dang that's good
@zealous cipher Case wise, choose from 4000d airflow, 5000d airflow, p400a, p500a, td500 mesh, lancool ii mesh, and p360a, along with some other good airflow cases
But how does the pot make contact with the die then? Is what i mean
This the build i did for them lol https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Wh6kZZ mb make adjustments to that instead might be faster
@fossil cedar image of 7000mhz OC for WR
Ohhh i get now
water blocked ram 😳 ?
@fossil cedar tbh I'd prob go for p31 1tb+x300 4tb, since they seem to be fine with cutting down SSD storage a bit
LN2 even
Ln2
oh ok
Accept the td500 mesh
Fair i just was getting rid of all the team 1tbs and 250gb nvme from the original build i was like meh good enough lol
good nuff
just
@zealous cipher 3700x makes no sense
10700 is just faster
you could make an argument for 5600x
but 3700x is just outmatched
also youre not getting a 3070 for 500 unless you get a fe
thats why i put budget for 3070 at 700
also you have both pilot e 2tb and p31 in there
and gotta beat the bots
ye
p31 1tb+pilot e 2tb is somewhat acceptable
just a huge drain on the budget
at least the drives are good
would you not just do pilot e 2tb +p31 and add the hdd later?
like is 3tb storage not enough to start with at least
but yeah 5800x or 10700
or 10900/10850k
so for me, buying new ram and a new processor would be best for me? Which ones would I want?
15TB isn't enough for me between all my media and backups lol
the ram you have is fine actually, if you wanted a new processor id go i9 9900k because you wouldnt have to swap motherboard and youll get hyperthreading which is v nice
what is that running right now? and how easy is it to replace it?
@zealous cipher this is what id do https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3xrTfP if its too much you could save the extra 70 or so or just buy the hdd a month or so after or whenever you need it
your ram is 3000mhz which is fine for intel tbh, and its just take off the cooler, clean the thermal paste with 90% alcohol then take out the cpu, pop in the new one apply some new thermal paste and youre good to go
Could easily OC that to 3200 with tighter timings too prob
also howww i dont understand i used a 240gb ssd until i changed cases and added a 1tb sn550 cuz i never wanna have to worry about storage again lol
yep, stuck my 3rd ram stick that was 3000mhz into my bros build that i just built and it oc'd straight away to 3200 couldnt get the timings that tight tho and didnt want to mess with voltages also it was asrock so meh bias
.
. ?
do I need a new Power supply as well with that new processor?
Let me break it down,
Old installation disks (OS, software, etc) - 350GB
Old console games - ~1TB (yes I have the originals, lots of PS2 and Wii ones)
Media - 2.5TB
Games currently installed - 3TB
Plus OS and programs, double it all for backup
650w unit should do for 9900k+1080 afaik
what power supply do you have atm but probs not
650w
should be fine yeah
ahh well the backing up kinda increases storage needed a lot lol
so really the only issue I'm having is having a very old processor?
ehhh not really idk what your issue is but that will deff be a nice upgrade
so If I wanted to make it so while playing Games like Tarkov and Warzone, I didn't lag around (not my internet I have gig speed) what else would you reccomend?
yeah warzone would def benefit
so you have an ssd btw?
i cant remeber if tarkov is open world or not might help a bit if it is
Tarkov is not technically open world. Like, think wazone. you load the map before going into the game. once you're in the match(raid) you don't need to load anything else
Tarkov also appears to be CPU dependent
sweet! those were really the only games I had major issues with!
just ordered the i9!
Nice
might also want a new cooler, depending on what you already have
H100i
I believe so should be fine
Or 500i or whatever the name of the corsair aio is
Guys is push pull config good on an aio
Yes, but really needed in most people’s use cases
Hello, I’m trying to install this radiator as exhaust. I’m unsure if the fans are set up properly. Do I have it set up right?
Top mounted?
It depends on how you mount it
Yep top mounted
Normally it would go radiator on the top with the fans mounted underneath the other way
If you put the fans on the case and the radiator underneath it'll be exhaust
If you want the fans visable in the case flip them
Ok thanks!
So this is how it is supposed to be put in ?
ya, like that!
👍
why he only got one fan on he radiater 😳
Alrighty , thank you very much .
Lol I’m working on it, I didn’t want to put all the fans on the wrong way.
Fans are over rated, 0 fan rad setup 💪💪
Lol. He just got started
Because they asking before they put them all on lol
ic :)
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6zv3gJ can someone complete this build my budget is no more than $1400
Have you already purchased the ram and storage?
Yes
Okay
I also bought asiahorse cable extensions
Return those, they have a terrible reputation btw
hi
Not sure if l can return them l had 30 days to return but those days might have passed. Can l get a different case and motherboard?
Why?
I mean yes but what do you want
I just don’t like the design
Of the case?
Or motherboard
Motherboard you're gonna have to pay a bit more, from what's in stock anyway
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/sMrTfP what about this?
Yeah l was think a Corsair 4000 d
How come you picked that power supply? Just trying to take in information because l just got into pc gaming
That power supply is one of the best out there and currently cheaper than the 750w
It has difficulty hitting the advertised speeds
Also ballistix ram has non rgb ram that's 3600mhz and 10$ less or 10$ more with rgb
And ballistix is great for overclocking
What do you think l should do since l already bought the t force ram?
Try it and see if it works, if it doesn't, return it? This is why it's bad to buy parts one by one instead of all at once, return windows close :/
Yes l have discovered that. I haven’t tested it yet because l don’t have all the parts yet
Also idk if you've heard but gpus are hard to find atm btw so you'll have to use the integrated graphics for a while btw
Yeah l heard but of course the one year that l want to build a pc it isn’t the best year
It is what it is ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Since l already got two things already for everything else I am just going to add up money until l add up as much as l need rather than buying stuff now
And will asiahorce extensions go into the 3060 ti?
Yes they should but I've heard of people using asia horse and frying their whole system pretty much by using asia horse extensions, i wouldn't risk it
Hmm never heard that
It's too common I'd just not use the extensions
I already bought them l don’t want to waste my money though
It's wasting more money if they literally break your computer
I’m genuinely curious on why someone would need this kind of build: https://youtu.be/ZkRa4YQVXr8

Like ACTUALLy is there a job that needs that much??
I made this video
Not even streamers need that much
8k video editing
Mathematical workloads yes
8k???? Damn
Why not
If you want the best of the best for workstation it's out there
Altho that isn't the best best for workstation
12k is like over kill over kill and I rarely say that because the pc market is always changing but why get something that much. I bet a 3k build will perform just as good lol
Not even close
Also people who work professionally with like theoretical physics n stuff literally use epyc processors which would be way more than 12k$
That gpu alone is more than 3k prolly lol
Holyyyy that’s insane
Even 5k
I was genuinely just curious on what kind of jobs would need it
No not even a streamer
Lol for steamers ye but it's a huge flex on ppl
Facts
Imagine how hard you could flex on random fortnite kids
True, I mean I have a 10 series cpu and a 3070 gpu so I’m pleased with my build where at the fact I wouldn’t even want a tfue build
Would his pc raise the cost in electricity Bill a lot?
Depends on workload and psu
Oh ye the PSU
Prolly a titanium psu or sumthin
that thing has to be packing more than 1000 watts too
Prolly a 1600
I bought an 800 WATT psu... wasn’t needed at all
Since he's gotta have the best of the best
Ah yeah
Also true
I'd build a pc like that for streaming if I had the money. 'S sorta like the man with the very expensive car he takes very good care of, largely by never using it and limiting his interaction to staring at its glory and having fantasies of using it while pretending to drive in the front seat
You'd want an 850w psu for a 5950x and 3090 tbh
Ehh future proofing your psu not a bad idea means dont gotta buy new one when upgrading
Psu is probably the only part you can futureproof
future proof by putting psu in a time machine and sending it forward 32 million years
Technically you could future proof storage by going from a HDD or SATA SDD to a NVME 🤔
Yeah but if you don't have a boot ssd in 2021 why the hell not
Yeah even the worst ssds better than the best hdd
I would choose neither for a boot drive
You could probably find a 120gb nvme boot ssd for around $15
I boot from a SATA SSD
Only a few seconds slower than nvme at least
Probably. Wouldn't want to put important stuff on the NVMEs I've got anyways, I use them as my game drive in RAID 0
Tbh i moved from a hyper x savage ssd i think it was (6 year old sata) moved to sn550 don't notice a diff in boot time
Well in gaming there's absolutely zero difference between sata and nvme load times
Oh yeah I know, I just didn't have room on my SATA drive but I had the space on the NVMEs
I went from loading a huge bank of minecraft heads in like 10 seconds at 0 fps to loading them in real time at normal framerates
hard drive to ssd
If it works it works
Mhm
Only placed I've noticed is downloading games from steam etc but nothing else lol
What....
Yeah nah
Some ppl weird
I noticed a difference when downloading from Steam and running Fallout 4. Even on a SATA drive I couldn't get the load times to drop so low
..........
Not exactly the place for such questions
Did you depress the tab on the right side of the PCIe x16 slot?
Check the metal tab on the bottom of the front part
if it's bent slightly it will fight you going in between the case and motherboard
It’s the left side that won’t go in
yeah the part with the metal shield?
Yeah
Check the tab on the bottom
It’s bent ;-;
Pliers or a crescent wrench work well
This ?
It kinda scares me lmao
Eh, it'll be fine
So when I built my pc I bought 3 random fans from micro center and they’ve worked fine... until one starts making weird noises and slows down almost every time I boot up my system. Anyone know good fans I can get off Amazon that aren’t too expensive? (120-140)
Arctic P12 PWM
I might of f up
?
Nah, the front section is it's own little bit
Look at the card
there's a separate section on the front
I don't really see anything. hmmmm....
If oyu think there's something in there maybe see if you can blow it out with a can of compressed air
Are there versions of those fans with RGB?
Apparently there are https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08Y8LZT2X?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1
You're welcome!!
Awesome, appreciate it.
Keep in mind those are 3 pin ARGB
If you need 4 PIN RGB, might have to get different ones
I’m pretty sure my hub uses 3 pin, I’ll check though.
Pretty sure they push less air than the non-rgb version though
I’m not too worried about that, long as I have fans that work I’m happy lol. Mine were cheap ones that only have blue lighting so I figured I’d spend for ones that actually work and I can change the rgb.
Yup, the black version does 56.3 cfm while the RGB does 48.8
There is a RGB version and an A-RGB version so you can just change the version you are buying on the same page if it matters
I’m on mobile so once I’m in my pc I’ll start searching around. Appreciate the advice yall.
on what game?
idk then im not rly good with nvidia control panel
Can someone help me
I have installed a nvme and a hard drive how do I make it so steam and other apps just go into the hard drive not the nvme
itll ask where you wanna install when you install it
like if talking about installing the steam app just drag it to HDD after installing it on ssd
What about games ?
Thanks

Can I use this to replace my laptop wifi chip?
guys im gonna keep it real
im intimidated by having to get a new pc and put it together but hate the specs of all the prebuilds
dont be intimidated, its not that difficult once you've watched a few videos to be honest
I watch ltt fairly often but it still feels like a big undertaking
alongside the gpu struggle right now
ive been trying to research Immersion cooling because it eliminates dust, which as you can see in the build pics is a problem but i cant find a solution
all seems pretty decent but do you plan to upgrade the cpu cooler later?
Doesn't matter if they are going to upgrade or not, you should not get the Hyper 212 or any of the 212s, they are overpriced pieces of ancient tech
Unless you are doing it for a joke, I can get behind wasting your money for laughs
Have any other suggestions then?
I’m not as familiar with after market air coolers
The usual recommends for budget after market coolers are the Vetroo v5 and the SE-224-XT, I personally lean Vetroo
Any particular why? The hyper 212’s have good reviews so I’m curious on your stance exactly?
The reason they have such good reviews is because they have been around for ages and are seen as the standard budget aftermarket cooler despite them being eh. The Vetroo and the 224-XT both cool the cpu better (from what I've seen and heard, the Vetroo more so) and they are cheaper
Hey I need some help I have a
Z490 Msi gaming edge wifi
i5 10400
Rx 5700xt Red Devil
Hyper 212 cooler (for now)
16 gb of Trident Z ram
860 evo
750w gigabyte psu
Turns on but will not display anything on my monitor and I know ots not the monitor or cables as they work for my other build but I cant see to figure out why it wont boot it has had the ram and gpu reinstalled a few times I double checked that all the cables are in the right spots and seated correctly and still nothing
does anything happen when you try to power on? any lights on the motherboard? fans spin at all?
Yah lights and fans just no display really lost on that one
what display port u using
the one on ur mobo or graphics card
its not the displayport I moved it from my other setup which is my gaming rig and it works fine but its in the gpu if thats what your asking
put the displayport wire in ur motherboard output
instead of graphics card
okay ill try that
WHAT GIGABYTE PSU
MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION
BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING
DONT SWITCH PC ON
I know certain ones explode lol but its the 750gm
the p-750GM?
yah it is
Thats the grenade psu
I mean it powers on fine
till it explodes
lmao
its not my build its for my cuz so ill have him replace it
Dont power pc on till whoever it belongs to replaces it
for all you know the psu killed the graphics card
Reason: Bad word usage
greaaaat
You can ask vintage racer for what psu to get
doesnt seem to be online atm
mr1111 could also help u
I mean did a few searches and it says I shouldnt have any issues since my parts really arent going to be pulling 800w and apparently thats what has caused them to explode
Using the p-gm is like playing with fire
im sure but if we can get the system running I can order a new psu to be here tomorrow
Or you can wait till the new psu comes tomorrow to get ur system up and running
Because you need to do that regardless
that way we can rule out the psu
