Idle temps don't matter smh
Only load matters
thats fine
That's fine lol
"an hour"
lol i didnt know how long
sometimes discord bugs
lol
discord may have done an update in the background
and restarted
69C is perfectly fine tho
my gpu is80c
Junction?
my pc is so loud bro
or hitting 90
Fans to cool pc = noise
If it was a 5700 and it hit 95c main, it would be shut down by now
80 is actually a bit high of for what you are doing, what GPU do you have?
Since junc temp around 109 shuts down 5700xts
I'm thinking it could be junc temp
2060 ventus
still which GPU
2060 ventus
nVidia GPUs have a temperature junction at 84c If I recall
and throttle extremely hard beyond that
those are definitely undesirable temperatures
what you are getting
@ancient wraith what is your fan profile like?
its ok, you are forgiven
more fans?
i have all da slots filled i need a new case
Can someone help me figure out a quick thing? I'm getting a concerning error in my part picker line up
?
It says my motherboard required a "rocket lake" CPU, or it will disable the m.2 drive
I just ordered these parts, should I cancel it?
Only part picker is saying that from what I can see
you didnt put in your list, just the link to pcpp
11th gen is rocket lake, the 10th gen is comet lake. its for pcie 4.0 iirc
10th doesnt support it i dont think
Yep
pcie gen 4 isnt worth the price atm
So this motherboard is too advanced for my 10th
Even if it fully disabled the slot with the 10th gen CPU there's another slot
For the m.2?
Yes, it's fine
Oh cool, so I just use, like slot #2 or whatever?
It's just he first one that is disabled
shouldnt be disabled
Alright thanks!
How can you tell, other than part picker?
probably will say reserved for 11th gen or something on it
lemme look at the actual board
Alright, does everything else check out, like the memory etc? I'm not sure about the size of the cooler. I hope it fits
First time assembling
I personally dont like corsair vengeance ram
id recommend crucial ballistix 3600C16
should be like $93 for a 2x8 kit
As long as it doesn't explode... at this point I already placed the order
16gb is fine for now but eventually you will probably want to upgrade to 32gb
did ya already order that ram?
ah I wouldnt get that ram
What's it's issue?
π
https://in.pcpartpicker.com/list/Nrb9ZZ
How's my list? I want to play games and do 3d modelling
my budget is 55k inr
i don't wanna do anything too big atm. im just a beginner which is why i got a lower end one. models of small objects and such
thanks for the suggestion tho
I wanted to build.. but ended up buying and ABS system.. it's ok price and runs ok but I can't access bthe resizable bar because ABS has modified the MOBO ID so now I CANT just get the firmware from the manufacturer (gigabyte) like a normal build. Anyone have any suggestions. Is it possible to change the ID back?
Ehh I'm pretty sure abs use out of the box hardware, but you need to update your bios and update your graphics cards bios to run resizable bar, and it's not supported on all boards and all gpus
I'm planning on making this build, along with a 3070/80 if I ever find one. Any suggestions?
pilot e instead of that samsung drive and 16gb of ram instead of 32gb unless you actually need the 32gb and windows is free unless you added it just to have it there
and a different aio
honestly
dont know much of ek but an ek aio would be good
cheaper too iirc
^ ek aio cheaper and better and has rgb
If you dont want rgb get an arctic liquid freezer ii for like 120$ or something it's really good
Do you guys suggest getting a second ssd or a cpu water cooler as a first upgrade
I have a 1tb ssd, wraith cooler that came with my Ryzen 5 5600x, and 4 case fans
I have a garbage GPU and ROG Strix B540 wifi
Thatβs about it
Joefis, if your budget is high enough and you dont want to oc your ryzen 5 i would split the difference and get a decent air cooler and an ssd. Having a better cooler will keep temps down and improve longevity of the system, and the extra storage space might be needed for bigger projects
What
guys it would be really nice if you could help me out because i have saved up about Β£1100 gbp to get a pc but i have no clue what to buy and what items are avalable to me so if someone could DM me that would be really nice because i need help.
Water cooling is overkill for a 5600x a decent air cooler like scythe fuma or mugen or if you want to go absolutely overkill nhd15 would keep the 5600x nice and very cool
Ok, thanks
Or a be quiet dark rock pro 4 instead of d15
Ram wack clearance
Fair
But cheaper than u12a
Mugen 5 rev b
Still cheaper than u12a
Fair but they probably just have 2x8gb
Nf-a12x25's are too good
My 2x16 got blocked by my d15
What how
The fan covers 2-3 slots depending on the board
Danm
So yea
Touche
Anyways
Rip pcpp uk
Well, UK GPU market is also kind of wack atm
@fossil cedar not compatible with your list then
Yep currys have had some drops but the prices wont fit in their budget
I went in through pick individual part tho
Wot list is this
Went through like this
Is it some itx list
wdum cos i would probs get my stuff from the US shipped to the UK
What about import VAT?
Last list i had was a matx i believe
Wouldn't that take away from your budget if you did that?
I can find d15 and such on there
Lol no import tax
US might be even worse tbh
Also easier to get from currys than us
Weird
It's just gpu wack
So I'm guessing you have compatibility filter on
ik GPUs are quite limited atm but where do u suggest buying them from
Just go into filters and turn it off
Mb but idk why it wouldn't work with b560 hdv matx and i went through individual part not through list
Currys
For UK, these guys have it sometimes too
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/
can i actually get them from there
thank you
Yes
I got my 3070 from currys.ie and they drop way more often on currys uk
thank you i will have a look
Np
How is this build for 1440p: r5 5600x, RTX 3070, MSI b550 pro, 16gb 3200mhz, pilot-e 500gb ssd, seagate barracuda 2tb Hdd, anted earthwatts pro 650w psu
is there a way to know how often they drop or is it random
Google stock informer uk
thank you so much i really appreciate your help
I'd go 1tb pilot e if possible in budget, and what cl rating is your ram? Cl16
Np
Pop the parts you have into pcpartpicker so we know exactly what parts btw
Can prob swap for 3600c16 ram, need a case too.
^ ballistix probs has a 3600cl16 for like 10 15 more than 3200
Ya, but 3200 is 80$ mostly lol
@muted patio it's the same question from 2 months ago, 50$ 3200c16 or 75$ 3600c16
Except both went up by like 30$
:/ sad
Sad
Ballistix 105
Ram still okay in uk tho must just be NA
i almost bought a set of 3600 c18 2x16 sticks of team ram for like 105 bucks
that was like a few months ago lol
crazy how now a 16 gig kit is that price
and yes, that was before i knew of team's issues with ram
that mr1 later explained
well
it's just bargain bin stuff
roll the dice to see if you get rekt or you get decent ram
think their buying vengence lpx from a friend iirc
At my microcenter Iβll be able to get 3600 cl16 Corsair vengeance
I was responding to Ryzen about team
So rgb π
and the same statement applies to vengeance lpx lol
vegeance lpx is also bargain bin for lower bins
ohh lol my b
typhoon burner says my lpx is b die but π€·ββοΈ
think it said samsung
700w
hey, is it possible to get help with a pc im having issues with?
so, one of my pcs its having audio issues yesterday 2 of the front fans quit working properly also if you drag on the windows screen it turns black
so you have 2 pcs?
its my gfs
checked they are clean
maybe your fans don't get enoyugh energy to spin
just doesnt make since
you need to be specific about which ones are good
it has been working fine and then all the sudden issues just show up
??
my job is to repair electronics and im confused
this isnt bads
bad
Sorry hit enter by mistake without finishing my point, not all 700w psus are good and they asked for a good one
For that price get a Phanteks AMP 750
$109 but a tad overkill
let me check it out
^ or a enermax i cant remember the name ffs i just know what it looks like lol
yea you could def use that
A bit more of this list needs to be tweaked btw and do you need integrated graphics while waiting for gpu? If not you can save 25 or so and get an f chip
im getting a igpu until shortage ends
if i can grab one from microcenter i get lucky ig
I am losing my mind
also do you need a board with wifi
just find it if you lost it
omg the power supply not good π and is 100$
okay
you dont need aio
tho its way overkill
youd be better off with an id cooling se 224xt or vertroo v5
you should shopping for what you have now
and if you upgrade cpu youll need to change mobo
10600k isnt worth
5600x is 2x the price of your current cpu not worth
and 11400 is very close to 5600 on gaming
10700k
yeah ^
its under 300 if you can find good deal
do you live near a micro center?
damm then 11400 best option
11600k and 10600k not worth because you need to get a z490 or z590 motherboard to overclock anyway
because its 2x the times of 11400 not at micro center, if you lived near micro center 10700k would be like 230
yeah theres nice z490s around 150-200
but thats a lot more than their budget
and if you want to put 11th gen on z490 you flash bios
10700k with z490 is good option
doing it rn
for 300 for a 10700 nah
11700k is for 400
what where??? its 310 on pcpp
yeah
\
actually 11400 is surprised me with perform as 5600 π€
ohh well 11700k waste of sand
s
silicon is printed sand basically
6
im making imporvements rn
locked i5s run wonderfully on a $30 gammaxx/id-cooling se-224-xt
anything higher is overkill
photo editing isnt too heavy process
Then unplug KB
i forgot
nah rather not yk
*then
*Then
xD
its a joke
Nah jk

@rugged salmon https://pcpartpicker.com/list/38zDdD
thanks
didnt seem like it dipstick
they wanted to put an msi aio on it for 90$ π
lol
I'd go 3600 c16 for 11th but that works too
ehhhh
π
11th gen likes faster ram than 10th does
imagine building a $500 custom loop for a locked i5
I have a 3070, what about it?
okay well ill see the price diff
Yeah
same
is this fan hub really necessary
I just wanna buy z590 mobo couse theyre look too damn pretty
If big price diff not worth
3-pack fans should come with a pwm splitter
yeah
top review says the fans come with daisy chain
fan hub is not needed
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4vNCnL acc use this one instaed
the one i have is better performance
i litterally got a 3070 in there and allowed it to be up to 700$
rgb splitter is not needed either
It is a little bit
Lol
it is worth the diff also gl getting a 3060 ti for 450
you should get any card you can find lol
each 3-pack of fans needs 1 header
i'm running 9 argb things off of 2 headers
8 fans and 1 water block
Thanks
the icue 220t rgb has its own hub included
the 3 fans you're adding have daisy chain
so you can just chain the connectors together and power all 3 off of one header
yes
so you run the corsair fans off the proprietary garbage
theres dangerous section in that tier list that makes me laugh lol
and daisy chain the 3 fans into one motherboard header
neither the splitter neither the fan hub are needed
lol ok have fun not needing it
π€¦ββοΈ
they wanted not even good aio on i5 i cri
it is not that hard to plug fans into each other
they literally come with a socket to plug in another fan
they also come with their own controller
it shows in the product pages
you ever heard of marketing
so you actually don't need a single rgb header
all things will say its best you need to look at 3rd party reviews, even cpu manufacterres cherry pic their data
don't ask for help if you reject it
thanks for wasting everyone's time
now get out
stick with the one i sent you
You ask for help then don't take it
this ^^^^^^
and good luck getting a 3060 ti for 450
lmao
Then don't ask for help
If you think your list is perfect
And you don't want it changed
Then don't ask us to refine it lol
And the conversation is over
lol i just went on r/hardwareswap and saw someone traded a 560ti build for a beer
every change
Obv a troll, let's move on now
Yup
imagine not making your preferences clear and then getting mad at people for not reading your mind

lol π
Lol
Yall need to calm down
conversation is over. Move along now please
tbf seems like everyone here is overreacting
Pretty much
Mhmm
You don't like their list so buy yours and be happy.
vintage is very scary XD
No, rule #1
Very
Buy your PC and be happy.
DVI
DVI
Ight
it was a misclick
dvi-I i belive
there is a dumb invite to server thing when you right click someone
I've done that before too LMAO
i've done it like 6 times by accident
I did it to Mr1111 before
needs a confirm button for sure
aBSOLUTELY
Uwu please let me in ur server
Lol
it wasn't even one of my servers
Misclick plz
be careful tho, theres 2 different dvi connecters, div-i and dvi-d
it was just some random server for a game i haven't played in like a year
Lol
ohh ryzen theres a few more acc heres the tpyes
Meant to click DM and did that instead
DVI is a mess i'm glad it's dead
hdmi so nice
displayport has some shenanigans going on with cable versions that's a bit annoying
Mhmm
Like 1.2/1.4
I like dp most
NOt as bad as HDMI tho
hdmi just works and i love it
then again
Or from someone stealing ur dp cable lol
Dp is
i've never tried to drive a display higher than 1080p144 over hdmi
are hdmi cables also subject to version shenanigans
Big time
Dp has higher display rates
i'm doing 1440p165 over DP 1.4 right now
my old DP cable worked with my 1080p144 monitor but this one was locked to 60hz
needed a new cable
Idek know what version of dp im running but 144hz 1080p so not exactly hard to drive now although it's a bit old so wouldn't have been able to do with hdmi, at least with my old gpu
that's not what you got muted for
I said. Move. On.
We get it, you don't like the lists. Buy yours and be happy. Thanks.
you got muted for continuing to throw a toddler tantrum after being told to stop like 8 times
Could you not be snarky about it and just listen to the mods
Guys, miscommunication happens, stop being so harsh about it
both parties are still being bad about this
Oof they banned
Yes, but I'd recommend getting a pilot e, or sn750 instead
pilot e trash value for 500gb
also keep in mind adata has downgraded that ssd like 5 times
while keeping the original speed ratings
So whats the storage on it?
same storage, just slower
Will the cpu cooler fit the case also?
For the ssd or hhd?
ssd
and yes, itt will
What ssd could i get for around the same price thats faster?
do you rly need 2.5tb of total space?
a rly good option is a good fast 1tb m.2 nvme
if you dont need 2.5tb total
pilot e 1tb super great for the pricec
Im going to have a lot videos
ohh ok
Youtube
ye
And to ask again the cpu cooler fits the case
yes it does
Ok
Is pilot e not 60 for 500gb? Sn750 is at least i guess
And the ssd u recommend is compatible with the mobo?
68
yea it is
Oof okay
how can you check which version your motherboard is running?
Probably even easier ways to do it, but with CPUz, on the Mainboard tab, it tells you bios version.
I'm fairly knowledgeable with computers; however, I can't seem to figure this issue out that myself and a few others have been experiencing recently. When we download things/use the network (game launchers or even internet speed tests), there's a chance that the whole pc will start stuttering in regards to the mouse movement, keyboard inputs, rgb lighting, wallpaper engine desktops, everything just starts to stutter/lag. It seems to have happened after a windows update. The first time I experienced this was upgrading from Windows 1909 to 20H2, but I figured it just didn't install properly and after attempts to fix it, I ended up just wiping my hard drive and reinstalling Windows from scratch. This was fine for a few months until I saw a cumulative update and figured I'd install it which has now caused the issue to come back. I have tried uninstalling and then reinstalling network drivers, trying different compatible network drivers, updating bios, chipset drivers, basically all motherboard drivers. I've tried looking into HPET, which seemed to be already disabled. I've tried soft reinstalling windows. I've tried turning off all background applications except for anti virus although the others I know having this problem aren't using an anti virus. This issue also seems to be with both intel and amd platforms. Running Latencymon does show that there seems to be an issue with the network driver, but as I said, I uninstalled and reinstalled which did not seem to fix it. I know a complete wipe of the hard drive and reinstall of Windows fixed the problem last time, but that's not fixing the root of the problem and that's not something I can practically do every time I update windows. I also know that the hard drives aren't the cause as it happens across multiple hard drives. Specs are an i9- 9900k, MSI Carbon Pro AC, 3200mhz 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro, EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
@little osprey the RGB comment seems interesting, is that in relation to peripheral rgb (Say on your mouse), or rgb in the computer?
both, although I don't think the motherboard's rgb acts up, but I'd have to take a closer look. I think it's just everything with icue which includes case fans, radiator fans, gpu backplate, ram, aio cooler, and keyboard. I have the mouse set to a static color and it's MSI rather than corsair but due to the static color I obviously can't tell if it stutters. The stuttering with the rgb lights is due to the effect of color changing that starts to stutter. For instance, the fans have a white light that goes around in a circle and it clearly isn't a smooth animation when the stuttering problem starts
It does seem to be some sort of software issue, do you know if there are any other common factors between your case and other incidents?
And also, is this with wifi or lan, or both?
We're both using msi motherboards and are both running the samsung 970 plus nvme for boot drive. There's also a few softwares that we both use such as voicemeter banana but that should be irreverent due to us trying to download things with all other programs turned off. He has several other computers all with msi motherboards and they had the same issue. He uses amd, i'm on intel. With that said, there was one other person who responded to one of my reddit posts and they had an asus board I believe, or at least it wasn't MSI. We're both using lan, I should probably test it over wifi though, but that would take at least a week to test it, as it seems like recent windows updates have caused it to happen less frequently, but it still usually comes back.
Which exact board (what chipset and name) are you using?
I'm thinking of the possibility of the specific lan controller having some faults
what is your buffer size in voicemeeter
I'm using the MSI Z390 Carbon Pro AC, although I can't remember exactly what he was running, but I think he's on a B550
I don't think a 9900K should be struggling with any buffer size but just curious
I have it set to 256
my friend's 4770K would stutter like crazy with buffer sizes too small
I'll also note that I've had this issue even with overclocks disabled, including xmp for the hell of it and the issue still persisted
It seems to be using an Intel I219-V controller, though Intel generally has the reputation for better stability. (Over realtek)
Are you familiar with any reliable driver installation programs? I know there's DDU for fully removing graphics drivers. Would Revo Uninstaller work? I'm curious if when I uninstall the network driver, it might not be fully uninstalling and leaving the problem files behind
revo uninstaller is fantastic
can't say i've ever heard of rgb stuttering before
can you record that? i am curious to see it lol
Well, iCue is software, so...
Would be interesting to see though.
ah
icue the rgb software that thinks using 10% cpu is acceptable
love it
i am going to desync all my rgb and set my cpu to 800mhz and see if it stutters
nope
didn't skip a beat
discord is now lagging though lol
I can try installing a few games to try and get it to trigger and record it, like I said it doesn't always happen though but next time it does I can tag you two. I've been putting of installing metro exodus so I'll do that now, see what happens
hah my 2.5gb intel ethernet port works only with one driver really well
i have realtek ethernet
I've also heard of people having high cpu usage with icue, although I typically see mine between .5% and 2%
lemme test icue i just got a new cpu
i have it installed for changing keyboard hardware profiles but with autostart disabled
another thing to note is I find it really interesting that the cpu usage doesn't get affected at all when the stuttering happens, everything looks normal, even event view doesn't show anything of concern
oh wow that's amazing
i have 2 effects active
and icue is already gobbling 3% of a 5600X
with the icue service killed off
and boosting to 4.8ghz
i added another effect now it's at 7%
i gotta say it looks pretty cool though
interesting, I have multiple effects between ram, fans, keybaord, gpu backplate, and an aio and icue is at like .3% with the icue service around 1%
the only icue accessory i have is a keyboard
i have one spiral rainbow, one static color, and 1 rain right now
and it is absolutely murdering cpu already
that is completely possible
so far downloading metro exodus hasn't caused any stuttering
woohoo i added a fourth effect and saw it hit 12% cpu usage
icue is now taking more cpu usage than genshin impact
lol
my keyboard looks absolutely ridiculous now
Keychron time
my favorite for the keyboard is a set color but then two different colors for the "type lighting" effect
lol i'm running out of effects that can stack on top of each other
my keyboard has successfully turned into abstract painting
Run bad apple on keyboard
probably possible if you made a custom firmware
use per-key rgb as a very low resolution screen
xd
Iβve seen a video, someone did it lol
I was curious asf so I tried it out, wasn't disappointed
Also the light for the backslash key wasn't working for some reason, but worked normally after making this video... odd
@earnest olive
join vc
i am not surprised that it has been done
also in that video I sent you two, the snow on wall paper engine starts stuttering too, granted the video doesn't have stutter in it but when it does, that's another thing that does have an issue
the most annoying aspect of this is that sometimes the stuttering happens, sometimes it doesn't, I wish it was more consistent and repeatable
The rgb on the ram seems to be getting pretty funky
wallpaper engine caused massive stuttering on my gaming laptop lol
occasionally
but on my desktop no issues
the rgb on the ram isn't as smooth as I wish it was but that's unfortunately normal
I think that's the rain effect set to medium speed
what is cheapest cpu + mobo that I can get that can play games at decent fps
What games, what resolution, and what do you call decent fps?
Video from @little osprey
Huge upgrade
you need new ram then
is good
yes
is that an anime backplate, lol
just rgb it looks like
with custom design
it's just a design I found on google
Also the name makes more sense once I paint or powder coat the psu shroud I have in there as I cut out a mountain ridge pattern on it. Need to move the stat display since it's being covered right now
I'm going to try to get a video of the stuttering that I'm experiencing uploaded soon, but another note is that I have no issues playing games online or even watching or streaming videos. Only happens when downloading files/games and it's happened a few times with internet speed tests. This doesn't make sense to me though as if it's lan related, I would think it would happen regardless of the type of internet traffic but that's out of my range of knowledge so I very well could be wrong
Can anyone help me find a 5600x under 326 after tax?
And sadly I can't use microcenter
MSRP is 299 so....IDK your tax rate?
7%
cheapest youll find after tax is 321
if its at msrp
or move to oregon
where theres no sales tax
or texas
even microcenter raised their prices (just today)
Closest place I can get at msrp is best buy
Even then they won't do pick up or delivery because of where I live
Doesn't texas hav 8% iirc
Try amd.com when they drop and newegg shuffle possibly
texas has no sales tax, but relatively high property taxes
Why tho, poor gpus only used for Blockchain maths and not gaming math π’
yep π¦
well least btc load is less damaging than gaming lmao
cause it runs like that 24/7
lol
should be
But that's your core temps not mem
gaming and mining is same thing to a gpu
not like it could know it's gaming or nah
well true
Yep^
But it doesn't know which one yes
Yeah that was my point
I mean all my gpus have souls so idk
Even so, not all crypto is memory intensive for mining, some are more than others
Btw what clocks are you running on your 3070s?
Well the cards vary a bit
I'm sure there's some that are mb, but etheruem and most other alt coins are mem intensive
My fav cards are the strix, and the msi gaming trios, those things are like ice
Well roughly whats your clocks
So I have power drawn back on all cards to 55, mems range 1000-1200. Fans 90%, temp limit 70
Pulling 1100 watts
Hmm okay
Yep
You could probs run mem higher tbh
Ya, my 3070 is 125 W going 60 MH/s
Right.. which 3070?
EVGA XC3 ultra
Same but I'm using more power, need to tune it down a little and im only using a gigabyte gaming oc
My msi ventus x3's my gigabyte, my asus dual fan, all run under 135W. My strix though.. 156W
But usually get 61.5mhs
156 is the highest pulling card, but that's prob because the strix is literally the size of my leg lol
Yep, I can push maybe 5% more out of my rigs, but I purposely cut back a tiny bit for temps and stability. I get around 30k shares before a rejection
Yep, exactly vintage
I was looking at that but am I able to subscribe to a news letter or something?
Reason: Bad word usage
Lol
Anyways.. what I said was... my main goal is stability and cool AF temps. So I can leave my crib without sweating
Just find out their drop times and check then, is your best bet, any email notifications will probs be delayed
I mean my core stays below 50 at like 85% fans and 65% on power so Β―_(γ)_/Β―
I could achieve those results as well with those settings :) I'm just weird and literally try to freeze things
Most of the time my cards are avging around 36-42Β°c. I said 40-45Β° because that's the highest they get
I mean mem chips can run up to 95Β°c. But damage occurs at those temps, so I'm wayyyyy under
I usually run at 100% and stay at 38-40 but sometimes turn it down a bit if im in a voice call or something
Yeah and running mine in a case
At night i do run it around 70 or 75% speed tho so i dont blow my ears out when i sleep XD
And it gets to usually 55-59c by when i wake up
So i think it's fine
Hi I have a gtx 1650 but warzone is runing at 30fps with massive frame dips into the low 20s on low setings and top half of the screen is jumping frames on other games. Anyone know why??
What cpu you got?
I3 9100f
The greatest disappointment
Any coolers you guys would recommend for a 5800x?
Hmm that should give more, do you have at least 8gb ram?
Yup in dual chanel at 3200
Scythe fuma and mugen, nhu12a/d15 but d15 you gotta watch out for ram clearance apparently, if you want liquid arctic liquid ii
Any cooler AIO works usually 2 fans should be fine they all do the same performance wise the issue is fans you place on it. Higher pressure fans will cool the fins better.
Hmm, is the gpu getting enough power?
This is false they are not all same
Yeah its a 6 pin version and i have 400w
A radiator is a radiator as long as water is moved from A to B yes. Its about dispersion of heat.
Eh, there's more to it than that
Hmm weird but im going to bed now so hope someone else is able to help you
^
Not just the fans
If you have higher air flow over the fins you can get the same cooling from poor fin density. Though its not as optimal, the fans do play more of a major roll in the dispersing of heat.
Patokav I shot you a friend request
Does anyone else here mine? I'm trying to make some friends that share this hobby with me but it's kinda hard to do with covid
Minimum though you would want a two fan radiator a single doesnt have enough surface area for cooling to reach room temp, where a 3 fan radiator can end up with diminished results in some cases the coolant will be room temp around the passing of the second fan depending on the processor.
Hi I have a gtx 1650 8gb ram and a i3 9100f but warzone is runing at 30fps with massive frame dips into the low 20s on low setings and top half of the screen is jumping frames on other games. Anyone know why??
Also pumps with rgb add to the overall heat of the unit so looks vs performance.
I kinda plan to mine
wat
I don't think pumps heats up from just leds
Anything that uses energy produces heat
You should review some AIO tests from Gamers Nexus.
Or Jaytwocents
anyone know if it's possible to have a splitter that allows 3 case fans to be plugged into the same fan header, and if said adapters come in the dell 5 pin style?
Eh, Jayz doesn't do the best tests TBH. If what you said was true, RGB AIO's wouldn't be the top coolers
^
Can you tell me if the rosewill aio that got as a gift would work?
anyone know some decent prebuilts for 400-500 i could recommend for a friend
Rn that's hard to find
I'd go console at that price range
Uh dont know your cpu, but from what I know Roswell has had some electrical fire issues for the 240. Also dont know the type of aio your specifying for dementions.
Looking to possibly use it for 5800x and i have the 240
deepcool and corsair have some cool aio
I'm not trying to break $200
wrong server
If the AIO isnt one of the faulty ones should be fine, for the 7 series cpu and keep it in the 60's range for loads, though if your not OC your probably not going to have any issues with heat. With proper tube placement. The only issue I have with Roswell is the tubes are stiffer making tube management harder.
I mean arctic freezer 2 would be enough for 5800 ig

How can I tell if it's faulty?
If you smell smoke while its running its faulty.
Thank you π
So I'm having issues with low GPU usage. Getting 80-100 fps on warzone and multi-player on COD on a 34" 1440 UW. Anyone have any suggestions on what I may need to do to get better performance? I feel like I should be getting better performance without OC. Specs are as follows...
Asus x570 gaming plus wifi
-Ryzen 5950x
-Evga 2080 ftw3 ultra
-32 GB corsair dominator platinum 4000mhz clocked at 3600 mhz
- Corsair cm600 PSU (next upgrade)
what settings at 1440p?
also do you mean corsair cx600m?
corsair has no cm series
Yeah the only other way is if you have a tester and test the chip within the pump and I wouldnt do that unless you knew what you were doing with components.
And yes cx600m
Definitely, going tomorrow to grab a 850w. Just put the 3050x in yesterday
what 850w?
3950x
im guessing your case has a power supply shroud?
H510 elite
actually
Fan rgbs would show
CPU usually 70-75
GPU usually 75 or so
It does, I'm considering o11 dynamic for more air flow
yeah
I'm also getting screen tearing.
so for a normal 850w psu
id reccomend this one highly
great price for an a tier psu
I was wondering about speed and clock settings for the ram
I'll definitely check it out
yea
Is there a specific clock speed and timing that's best for the 3950?
And why does it show low usage?
is it possible to mix ram sizes? for example two Tridents 2x 8gb + two Tridents 2 x16gb, both are the same CAS latency just different memory sizes
No its 2x16 4000mhz
Hey can you send me the site that you found the specs on?
Ye
Just remember ram will only run at same speed as slowest stick
And make sure they are same voltage
You plan on mining? Lol
Literally go on AMAZON and search for pc fan splitter, I got like 6 cause my rig has like 25 fans lol
Nice bro do you have the 3060ti yet
This may sound stupid, how do I make sure they are all the same voltage?
How many fans per port do you do?
And how many amps per header?
Should be rated for "rated speed" at "rated voltage"
You guys are over thinking lol
So pc fans hardly take any power. I have 4 fans running off 1, 4 pin port. The way I do it is by buying a fan controller off Amazon. Like the 15$ one. It'll allow you to link like 4-5 seperate fans. And that's all running on 1 connection to my MB
Reason: Bad word usage
Woops lol
Reason: Bad word usage
Reason: Too many infractions
https://www.newegg.ca/g-skill-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232491 planning to run the 2 x 8gb and pair it with the 2 x 16gb version
Yeah if it's same version just dif capacity it's fine
would i be able to run the silver/white version of that ram too?
If it's the same thing just dif color ye
also dont pay that much for that kit
im getting the 2x8gb for $160 cad from someone
so i was thinking of getting either 2x 16gb or another 2x8gb from newegg
lol
WOW I am bummed right now lol. I was asleep during the buying window.
How does the 3060 compare to the 2070 anyway?
like in pure gaming 2070 better
maybe in ray tracing and stuff a 3060 is better, since it has newer rtx stuff
That's fair
Wish I caught it in time. Since I didn't have the money I would have let someone else buy them.

heres a quick vid
that kinda shows the trend of 2070 just pulling ahead in gaming
seagate barrcuda or wd blue
wd blue
thought as might so
Hi, RN My plan is to get an i5 10400f and a gtx 1050ti but i was wondering whether i should just get a better cpu with integrated graphics now and get a good gpu later?
Nope
There's no better cpu than 10400f that's avilable with an igpu that's remotely decent
Rip
false
i5-11500 and higher has UHD 750 which is not that far behind ryzen 5 3400g in graphics
AMD is also looking to release ryzen 7 5700G possibly to DIY
@gloomy crystal the 1050ti still pulls far ahead of any integrated graphics right now, but if you mostly play esports then integrated graphics will do alright
3400g/5700g compares to gt 1030
UHD 750 a little weaker
intel may have the weaker graphics here but their advantage is stronger cpu than the 3400g for when you upgrade, and better availability
Ah well
But isn't 11500 a bit expensive?
Says 192-202 suggested customer price
Seems well worth the price at least
Overall it is still better deal than a 3600
well yes but it's a slightly upgraded i5-11400 that can actually run games on the igpu
well worth the price
absolutely smashes a 3600 of course lol
the i5-11400 gaming perf is already competitive with 5600x
the biggest advantage the 3600 has here is the better upgrade path, but few people upgrade cpus often enough for that to matter
and it's really not worth paying over $200 for a 3600 in 2021
I'd only recommend a 3600 in 2021 if it was less than $120 with stock cooler included
since you can pick up a 10400f brand new for 110, $25 gammaxx cooler, and cheap b560 board
Looking to build a new machine what could people recommend for a Ryzen 7 build?
budget?
I mean Donβt want to go to expensive because this will be my first build on my own
Personally I have:
Ryzen 7 3700X
MSI B450-A PRO MAX
BALLISTIX SPORT 8GBx2
Pioneer 1TB NVMe
MSI VENTUS OC RTX 2060
Corsair RM750
Everything was 2nd hand though except the PSU, cost me about Β£800.
P.S. Not a typo, I don't have a case as I'm in my student accommodation and have no space atm. Just a mobo with some standoffs π
Should run most games at High / Ultra 60fps+ @1080p (Most demanding game I have is Witcher 3 and play on Ultra with 60fps constantly, maybe a deep to 58)
Want something that can play DayZ, COD, Squad and stream at the same time
Btw I'm guessing it'll be bounds beyond 3400g, since 4650g and such were quite a bit better than vega 11
Hmm, don't really stream so wouldn't know much about that. But apparently NVIDIAs shadowplay might help?
Ahh, thanks!
NVENC is great
Tbh wouldn't recommend this to people as you can't rely on second hand prices, especially if they're in different country and there's better options out now also gl getting a 2060 into that build under Β£800 nowadays
Oh no, I wasn't recommending. Just saying the specs work for 1080p gaming at Ultra. I just got lucky after 5 months of searching.
Fair
@ashen totem sweet case, but out of curiosity why did you go with such a large case when your build could fit into something much smaller?
1 possiblity they went with larger case is better airflow
if they wanted airflow, probably would've gotten a different case and fans
Yeah i just looked at how massive the case was, i thought the were just an itx fanboy or something
I'm just over here excited I'll finally get to use the case I bought last year
Oof
What are you waiting dor buy the rest of your parttrsss
thats not an itx motherboard though
Anyone have experience with an o11d Mini?
Remember, I bought my case before the Great GPU shortage hit. I had every intention of building last summer. But then I listened to the advice to wait for the launch of the 30 series...
Situation has finally changed because now I have an EVGA 3060 due to arrive tomorrow
Yes ik but they said they could've put the stuff in an itx mobo i hadn't looked at the parts and itx mobos are readily available at okay prices rn
Phat f
Pog
I got a 2080ti for like just over 400 usd when that happened lol
Damm lucky
Ye
I put it in parents pc
Since my 5700xt looks soooo nice I'm my build
And yes I'm aware of the big perf difference
But whatever
Im trying to set up a fan curve, i have a i5 10600k and a artic freezer duo, can someone give me good points?
how can I tell if the video card is PCI_E3 for this motherboard: https://www.newegg.com/msi-mpg-b550-gaming-carbon-wifi/p/N82E16813144322
I'm trying to find a video card for a reasonable price since all the good cards for PCI Express 4.0 x16 slots are sold out and I know there's alot of Express 3.0 x16 out there but I'm getting lost with the E3 part
It honestly doesnt matter. Just pick the gpu you want
Any pcie can run on any pcie slot
Gen 4 card can run on gen 3, gen 3 can run on gen 4
yee, pcie is backwards nd forwards compatible
ooh ok so they are like USB ports, with 3.2 being backward and will accept 2.0 usb device, just won't get the speed, right?
Yep
lmaoaoa
Hi, I made a pc build list and want to make sure all parts in list will be compatible.
share it
hmm, it is all compatible, though some parts aren't really the best for their price
is it fine if i make another list based on your budget?
You're parents game? Or just for a flex XD
I welcome any suggestions. This computer will be a starter for game proggraming and photogrammetry.
$1250.00
Thanks a lot!!!!
is there anything you specifically want in your system? such as integrated wifi, 32gb of ram, some specific case design/build aesthetic, etc
I need wifi, blue tooth, 32gb ram 8core processor and video card with cuda cores.
ight
any specifics for storage? or should i just go with the generic 500gb nvme and 2tb hdd
what's the best price/performance build for an $800 budget?
From what I read, I need processor cores for video game development and cuda cores and ram for photogrammetry
Flight sim and stuff
So it's pretty gpu intensive
For storage need ssd for operating system and atleast 1tb for program storage on platter.
yes gpu intense
so just mass storage for the hdd?
actually hold on, i've got something so far https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RFPwfP , does it meet your needs?
ok
It's for cad/school and some gaming
i'll make an amd list then
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8FPwfP - the amd list
and is there a reason you have for going amd over intel?
tech guy I talk to said amd was better.
