Yoo, i like your set up better
No kids usual makes it a bit easier
I see you're a bitwit subscriber 👍🏽
Lemme find a before quick, yessir
Super small desk and clutter lol
I got my desk from Amazon and it had a scratch so I messaged them and they gave me a refund and told me to keep the desk lol
lol
Nice yeah I picked up that one for 90 bucks
Rip finish
Having some rad issues or need more fans?
how hot on cpu and gpu?
Below 39° on idle when gaming doesn't go past 45°
on cpu?
The cpu is at 62-65° idle
That’s super high for aios
that's kinda hot
yeah cpu on high end
I was doing a windows update and it got to 80°
mine doesnt hit over 55 even gaming
How’s the static pressure for yours fans?
Before when I had one system in the case high 65°
Idle was 40
I'm gonna move around some fans and see
I might need a new case tho
GPU is kinda close to the glass
Noctua is usually the way to go there’s a cheaper variant from thermal take.. tank? Idk
If you can find these in stock it’s a carbon copy for cheap
Not quite as good tho
@hot warren
Thanks bro
Np
where is the rgb tho
send it
Why u using a corsair icue elite on a 3600?
VERY overkill and a waste
dont need the h100i and you can probably find a cheaper board and ram
My uncle gave me it
whelp
fairly dandy then, the ram you could switch out and find a cheaper board if you want and change the storage depending on your needs
unless you want corsair mostly everything then the ram is fine and if you really wanna only use icue, then a strix card if possible though thats me being a bad influence
850w also not needed
Anyone have an idea how many rgb fans blocks and such I can run off one header? As of right now I have 8 to be installed
for the case you could also get a better one like a p400a or something
for the fans themselves depends on the fans, some can daisy a decent amount and some cant. for the rgb itself, sometimes the rgb struggles through daisy chaining depending on the brand. but for the fans themselves you could just get a fan hub
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/m4T2Gq @little osprey
Check that out
much more bang for the buck
they already have the h100i and also no 212, bad
the 212 keeps my 3600x VERY cool
shouldnt have a problem with a 3600
well again, they already have the h100i and the 212 is bad for what it is now in this market
Ah I see they already have the aio
Wait so to be clear what should I change
mobo, psu and case and maybe storage depending on your needs for storage
actually, not even just for your needs, theres better/cheaper 1tb nvme's
Alright thanks
am4 is ending so no point in getting anything better
why not
b550...?
thats what he wanted
imagine paying $220 for a 3600
not too much of a difference with a 3600
Wait, why exactly does it have to be b450..?
I'm really not a fan of the b450 tomahawk as someone who used to have one
Tomahawk max not good
I upgraded for $25 and the difference was huge
Could of went 10400f or 11400f route ngl
buying a ryzen 5 3600 for $220 is just full clown
when 10400f can be had for literally half of that
and b560 chipset exists
Yep
Eh, might make some sense if they wanted 5900x or something
Did they release benchmarks of 11400f yet?
geekbench yes
But b450 kills that purpose
Lol
It was a bad board the time it came out tbh
when $110 gets you a b560m pro4/ac
B450m Tuf pro back then
and b550m pro-vdh wifi exists for am4
Yes
Tomahawk max doesn't have wifi so you can go cheaper
Like pg4 is sometimes cheaper
Pro4
I bought b450 tomahawk max because I was new to pcs and all the youtubers were hyping it
I have no idea why every youtuber was hyping it
VRMs
Lmao instant regret
Were decent
I sold it for $125 and bought b550 aorus elite for $150
insane how much better than b550 aorus elite is
Aorus elite op
even the onboard audio was way more difference than I expected
Ofc
It's like alc887 against alc1220
Msi tend to use lower end chips in lower end boards
K what's with the -A naming scheme being the "low end," I keep seeing varying issues and rumors
Like I don't why I'm seeing this on Reddit but ppl are claiming any B550-A or Z490-a boards are "bad"
z490a-pro is good for price as well
I pushed a 10700K to 5.5GHz on it
can't be that low end
vrms handled 300W cpu no problem
@scenic turret time stamp 11:40

We're comparing AMD B550 motherboards to discuss the list of best AMD Ryzen boards and their differences. Not all boards made the cut, so we narrowed it down to the most interesting.

the cooler stumbled before the board
and it was a 360mm aio
with 2 extra exhaust fans and no dgpu
the only problem with the z490-a pro is the sound chip
everything else very solid for price
well I didn't try ram oc cause I didn't get paid to but 3600 xmp no issue
and the sound chip not bad either just not premium
Yea that reaffirms my thoughts. Like I hate seeing these "so called techies" now and then trash talking -A boards
Thx guys for the reclarifications
probably parroting XOCers without actually having experience with the board
Lol probably
Z490-a pro gets a fairly decent rating on the vrm list
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1yPS3hj_K7EPT4RBWCyjdKNP56pnwDz-IgBc0975-FUg/htmlview#gid=0
C might sound bad until you consider that every asrock board with a rating is C or below overall
It was/is
well it still is
If OCing is taken into consideration
but b560 makes z490 less value option
especially considering it seems b560 boards may support the new intel boost algo
if you can get 5.1ghz all core boost on b560 then oc is not a big deal
If you can boost like that, no reason for OCing for consumers lol
I saw something about b560m aorus board pushing 11900k to 5.1ghz all core
well in the context of boards vrm doesn't care about core count
11900k can use same power as 10900k
yeah I wonder if 11700ks will be bad bins
GN Waste of sand rating
^best title
imagine buying 11700k and losing silicon lottery and you can't even hit 4.9ghz
average 10700k hitting 5.1 on daily stable voltages
I'd be interested to see silicon lottery data once they get enough chips
yeah it will be very very interesting to see 11700k vs 11900k binning
Actually now that I think about it
Does silicon lottery still do binning stuff?
I don't think they did anything on Zen 3
not sure but they had 10th gen binning
maybe they could not find enough zen 3 stock
I wonder if they stopped or they couldn't get enough
prob just not enough high end zen 3 cpus
5900x 5950x still have stock issues
5600x 5800x are the ones improving
@earnest olive hm, they've actually never tested Zen 2 chips
5600x sounds pog
manual oc zen 2 is pretty pointless for most users
They offered delided zen 2 chips and still don't have binning data on them >:(
and most of the users that benefit from manual oc zen 2 probably want stock stability more than a few % more perf anyways
production/servers
isn't delidding zen 2 also pretty meme
considering it's soldered chip
Dunno
I know they sold Zen 2 chips as a service, they usually delid, maybe they didn't delid zen 2
Why direct die when you can directly cool the pins
why cool it when you can just turn it off
0W heat generation
0C delta T over ambient
man I am so smart it hurts sometimes
@earnest olive checked with waybackmachine, they offered Zen 2 chips, binned, but don't have testing on Zen 2 binning smh
Smh why doesn't a cpu come with a direct die heatsink
guess they just chose not to release stats
cpu should just come with ln2 stock cooler
Evga roboclocker for everyone
yes for grandma's office pc
Looking at a new psu, should I get a Corsair cxf or rmx?aside from power rating, I’m unsure of what the difference is
Hey guys, I'm getting a £2000 Gaming PC, I usually play Minecraft but I'm hoping to expand to other games, I just want to make sure my list is ok!
Looking decet i would change cpu cooler and psu im not sure if this model is good need to check
That's a sata ssd not nvme, no no
its an m.2
linked the wrong wd m.2
So I build my own pc's, but out of curiosity, are there businesses that build the pc for you? For example, you compile a list on pcpartpicker and you send the supplies to them and you pay them to build it for you/ship it. I'm not talking about Digital Storm or NZXT. Micro center sort of has this, but anyone else?
Not unless you find an individual i guess
The 10850k is an absolute deal especially in Europe
@frank stirrup why don't you get a 5600x? Cheaper and I assume all you're gonna be doing on this pc is gaming, then you you could upgrade your m.2 to 1tb, and you could probably find a higher-end case or psu
@golden forge that's what I plan on doing once I get started, it's risky business though for the builder, unless you send the parts your self and buy them yourself before hand, like you want to do.
^
Otherwise, the buyer wants the pc in hand before they pay, and if you finish buying all the parts, and they then decide they don't want to go through with it anymore, then you as the builder is out how ever much pc cost.
Some get around this by asking for a service fee and percentage of the supply fee. Say I charge $75 for service, 10% part markup, and require 25% down(after markup) then it relieves the stress a little, incase that person wants a $2000 pc, I still get $775 to partially cover what I lost.
not my pc
Guy had that as his cpu. I just edited other parts around it
what do you mean by higher end-PSU?
@sharp tundra
that unit is already one of the better units out there
I don't see why he would want to get anything better than that
especially when it's not even needed
^
They don't know what they talking about tbh, they recommended 5600x instead of 10850k even if you don't need the cores in games it's going to make anything else you do a lot smoother and means your cpu has longer lifespan
But tbf idk how trustworthy adata psu's are
But I mean, dood wants a £2000 to play minecraft.
I know he said he wants to play other games too, but main game is minecraft I bet, now I respect the 3080 decision, just not 10 core intel chip, it's unnecessary for gaming, and I would even go as for to say it's even a little much for streaming.
And the reason I said psu, is because you could get an 850watt plat, or even better, no need to cheap out on a psu, and I would've said ram, but since it wasn't on the list, I figured he already had it or something
hmmmmm
no?
owh
Also, lifespan is determined by how hard your cpu works, 5600x is gonna last just as long if not longer than a 10850k, the thing was literally made for budget gaming PCs
They said they play Minecraft but want to expand
That makes no sense, in 3 or 4 years or so, 8 core is gonna be the new 6 core and a 10 core will be way nicer, I'm not talking about degrading of silicon
In 3-4 years, we're gonna have different sockets and both of those chips will be irrelevant anyways
What's your point
Plat is like 2% more efficient than gold, not worth even over 5 years and if you have expensive electricity rates
Lol what?
An i9 won't ve irrelevant even if it is a few years old
game developers and the works aren't gonna optimize for CPUs with more cores
if they don't need to
the only place where that might give a reasonable boost in performance is cyberpunk
Youre right, but you're wrong
They're gonna utilitse more cores in newer games most likely
not 6 or more
the majority of games will still be using 6 or less
In like a few years tho
i can read
Cod mw probably only uses like 4 cores
And if you're getting a 3080 you should be getting an i9 or i7 with it
Just for reference
LMAO
Not necessarily
my 5900x has more cores than any 10th or 11th gen CPU
Are you daft?
best gaming perf currently
Yeah ik i obvs meant i9/i7 + Ryzen equivalent
Why?
11600k would do quite nicely, most games are GPU bound right now even in 1080p
the only i9 currently out for a good price is 10850k
Because you'll get smoother frame times etc
what
i9 = ryzen 7
I9 = ryzen 9
Yeah that's what i was saying to get the 10850k over a 5600x
Unless you mean perfermance
Not with 11 series, 11900k trades blows with 5800X
for a 3080?
u see the 11900k?
Yeah and in general
He just said it was the best priced intel i9, not that it's worth getting
5600X is more than sufficient for any GPU, even looking at 1% low frames
Might loose in benchmarks but smoother frame times usually
if you're ONLY gaming/streaming 5600x if you're trying to save a ton of money
???????????
But they're spending 2 grand
And also @fossil cedar you didn't add ram to that build, what's up with that?
I didn't make any build
If they're spending that much why are you even recommending Intel? They're the budget option right now
Right?
Because imo 10850k over 5600x
*2.7k usd
No its definitely worth getting if you have any kind of stuff other than streaming/gaming
Yes but 2000 pounds
almost 3 grand
2000 pound pc
had a stroke typing this
Think that was including peripherals
The 10850k is currently $380 and is beaten by the 5600X in many games
That's heavy
10850k vs 5600x is only a valid argument if you live near a microcenter
Hmm, is a Ryzen 7 3800x good for like COD warzone?
do you have the 3800x?
Yep
yeah
Then yes
If you have it already that'll be fine for a while
So I have Ryzen 7 3800x and Asus TUF GTX 1650 super
Quite the pair
thank you

My cousin in Vietnam build computers so he knows a lot
gtx 1650S is a budget card.....
maybe they just gave u the last gpu they can get
Nah, his cousin had 3 3090s, 6 3080s and 10 3070s sitting in the closet, he just didn't want to give em up.
never gonna let it down?
Never gonna turn around?
and desert you?
How much would he sell em?
like a 3070

Bruh, I was joking, I don't actually know your cousin, nor what he has in his closet
i also got it from here so i didn't hesitate
LOL
smh the rickroll can't play smoothly
Anybody interested in the Volkswagen rebranding?
They will be called Voltswagen
Not even kidding
I gotta say guys with all these vehicle manufacturers wanting to be carbon neutral and create an electric car market, you better get all the LiPo and LiIon batteries while you still can, cause there isn't enough Lithium on earth for it to be used then disposed of like that.
Yeah, I didn't think it was that interesting either

Current Video Card that I will be reusing MSI GEFORCE GTX 1060 6G
Hello second build here. Just wondering if anyone can look at this and either give me helpful advice if I should change anything on this. I am at about $1300. Not sure if there are any components that will give me more bang for my buck. Thanks for any advice
yeah, use pc part picker
other than that it looks alright, im not sure about the psu tho
also any specific reason for 32gb of ram?
PSU is Tier B, depends on price tho.
just want to go big on the ram so it makes my pc last a year or two longer. My builds usually last me for 6 or 7 years By 2030 everyone will probably have 128 norm
understandable
You can always get 16gb then add another 16 but that's fair
probably have to upgrade the Video card first.....they are ridiculous
the one I have I bought for 299 they are 700 now and that was a couple of years ago
it's not like adata is making the PSU's or anything
Yeah ik i just don't know how they rank on the PSU tier list like
it's A but I don't go by that
a unit for the cool boys
Fair enough if it's an A tier thats fine then
The 12V rail load regulation on that PSU is meh
For $150 there are better units on the market
😄 almost every unit in this world has some department where it does not shine so much in
I can't install streamlabs 😐 i had it installed but it uninstlled itself and now i can install it again
if we were to cherry pick practically anything, no one could have finalized on a PSU
$150 is too much for a 750W PSU especially for that kind of 12V rail regulation
you are really converting pounds to USD
also to factor in
that PSU is the cheapest actual good unit
after that it's Bitfenix Formula gold
TXM and Core GM are worse than reactor so those don't count
Looks good and saves me a few bucks, what do think of the Motherboard and CPU combo Decks?

I ordered my kid a OMEN 30L Desktop - GT13-0395xt should that be good enough?
it should click if u pushed it enough
it’s not clicking
oh yeah thatll be capable of any workloads and games at max and
Did you insert the correct side first
owh lol
yeah, it can take some uncomfortable force lol
hahah fr
Hey all, have question about power supply. This is my build, just waiting on the GPU to be delivered. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LLZ6gt. PCPP rates the power requirements well under the 750 I've got spec'd but wanted to confirm since I think I read someone said with the 6900xt, it's recommended to use an 850?
Looking good
follow the ones reccomended for the card
And of course as soon as I scrolled down a couple lines further I saw the minimum recommendation. Ok, thanks for the confirmation on that
its b550
For the price of that Supernova, get the Enermax Revolution DF 850 $129. $10 cheaper and a much better unit.
ah yes it was written to it
Will do, thanks for the heads up on that!
didn't see it well. too blurry on this one
Does anyone else have they Arctic liquid freezer?
I don’t know what the pump should sound like and don’t know if mine is working,
I can get a 5600x for 350 on a newegg seller instead of the 370 on amazon seller
Stonkss
should AIOs really make sound?
Still 50 more than msrp 😭
it's called inflation. they're on the top rn so no wonder
True, I just have something against paying over msrp
Well then I suppose you wont be buying any PC components in a few years
laughs in 750usd 3060ti
weak
but i got it tho
ooh that's nice
750usd for combo 3060ti and psu
Reason: Bad word usage
oof
i just want a $200 1650S tbh
O crap forgot about that already yikes
Yeah 1650 would be nice
could find tho it'd be hard to catch coz i ain't funded yet
It hurts to see
I am prolly going to sell my 3060ti as soon as I get me hands on a 3080
3060ti can't put out 1440p 165fps
I have a 2070 super, but I'm trying to get a 3070
wait for 3070ti
Going to give my friend who's trying to build a pc god rest their soul my 2070 if I can get it
Lol the calm before the storm
i remember when someone is willing to lend their 980ti to me
that would've been nice
Let's see how much one of those goes for rn LOL. literal definitions of taking out your stocks when u go -5% and then seeing as they go +100%
not nice coz it's been 2-3 weeks since that
Hi! I have a 1200w PSU. Which UPS should I get (power rating in VA)?
lmaoaoaooa
Wonder how much a very lightly used 2070 super goes for rn
Might sell it and get a used car lol
How important is a 2k Monitor/ Does it effect the performance ?
it's just someting that's 1440p too
Wow thank you! May I know how many minutes can the backup supply run before running out? Sorry if my question is a bit technical.
it's just resolution
It depends on your actual load and wattage use
if u have a high-end card then a 1440p monitor would prob be important
@vapid bay 3070 would need 1440p
Around 700W full load.
Hey guys, I'm getting a £2000 Gaming PC, is this alright?
It will be an absolute MAX of 90 minutes at low load, probably 20-30 minutes is more realistic with a load
I see. Thank you so much!
yes. but do note that it won't always run games on 1440p 144hz
just triple a games u won't get that high fps on high settings
but yea it's a decent card for 1440p gaming
ASUS TUF Gaming VG279Q1A 27 Zoll Full-HD Gaming Monitor (1 ms, 165 Hz)
Do I use #1 or #2 for 3900x?
what about this monitor its not 2k but
@muted patio do you know? Sorry to ping you but I have been building this pc for the 3rd day now
#2
Thank you sooo much ❤️
1080p at 27" can look slightly pixellated because pixel density is low
300 for monitor
if u could save more, Gigabyte M27Q
20 more but that would be max
sadly newegg doesnt ship to germany
oh yes
their dead pixel return warranty is crappy
you have to have dead pixels in a row horizontal or vertical
hmm i see
so your whole monitor could be checkerboard of dead pixels

and they wouldnt replace it
what about odyssey g5
tbh idk much abut 1440p monitors
hardware for it is too much for me
Don't look like there's a shuffle today 😦
27gl850?
I have this one I like it.
I use my xsx on it for 1440p ,
As my gpu in my pc is too weak to take advantage. But it looks great and haven't had any issues with it
i see
am a whole hour late but 1440p is great. and very noticeable with my 27inch even on mc. should try to see it for yourself before you jump into conclusions tbh
I love it myself
GIGABYTE M27Q 27
I got it, newegg deal for 300usd
Can you really notice the difference tho at something like 24 inches?
24 inch 1080p is pretty good imo
even on my 27 inch 1080p i cant see pixels
and i dont sit crazy far away either
I dont think you could at 24 inch
I wouldnt know since I went from 1080 27" to 1440p 27"
Idl what the refresh rate of the old g27q is but It is definetly not 170
also it doesn't have the kvm feature which I consider to be very very useful
Ahh okay, that's what i thought, thanks
Just didn't know, never seen anything that's 1440p apart from tvs in shops
yah
Where was that picture taken? @little osprey That’s a lot of GPUS in stock at that store.
I saw a few videos from steve indicating that highly tuned memory with a good mobo could squeeze out a bit of performance. But just for ease of mind, since those numbers were very rarely double digit and recorded on 1440p I should expect an even lower advantage at 1440p since we become more gpu bound correct?
I dont want to buy all my parts and then go oh if I had done this for x more money I would've gotten a better experience
I feel.that way regardless cause there's a newer and better product like every year

tell that to the 11900k kek
Kek
Also I am just saying that because I plan on using this setup through all of college so a good 3-5 years
so I want it to be at 110% from day one so that when it starts to break down I can lower it to 105% etc. etc. ( by break down I mean when it becomes less stable for whatever reason etc)
How do I boot into my old hard drive or is that possible?
It’s from a different computer
Eh, probs not possible if you've got all new hardware and didn't do any prep work beforehand like uninstalling drivers.
Didnt gave the chance, the pc it was in died in a surge
I know
If I install windows onto my boot drive, will it erase the data on those drives?
ON whatever drive you install to, yes.
The boot drive is just an empty 250gb ssd
I think it’s empty it was unopened from Amazon
In that case, WIndow install won't touch any other drives
To be safe
Make sure it'st he ONLY drive installed in the system when you install WIndows, lest you click the wrong drive on accident
I know the name/number it shows under in the bios, would it be the same?
Also is 40’c normal for the bios with Arctic aio
Not in the WIndows install
It will just show as Disk 1, Disk2, etc
Whatever header the AI pump is plugged into, make sure it's at 100%
The pump is running abit over 1500 rpm
I don’t know what is normal for the Arctic aios
SHould be closer to 3K I think
Most do
Set it to 100% in the BIOS. If you have an AIO pump header, plug it in there, most are set to 100% by default
I only have a pump fan header
No pump header
For some reason
Pump fan? What motherboard
How exactly?
BIOS - Hardware Monitor is what the manual says
In the bios I clicked set all to full speed but it’s still 1500rpm
Check the curve in the BIOS HARDWARE section
According to Arctic site the pump only runs from 800 - 2000 rpm
This. make sure it's a straight line and not a curve
Also my ssd is plugged into sata 5 will it show as disk 5?
No
There all set to 100% with a straight curve now, I appreciate it
Well, that's going to be noisy LOL!
It’s not really loud at all
I'd just set the AIO pump to 100% and then the fans to whatever you'd like.
My air conditioner (window unit) blocks out the noise
For installing windows, just leave the drive you want it installed to plugged in. Unless it's the only 250GB drive, then it's easy there too
Yeah it’s the only 250gb
I have a 250, and 500gb ssd
So it will show up as 250?
IN that case, it will show during install as the only 250GB drive so just click carefully.
Or whatever windows translations
thanks again bro, your always the most helpful person on here, it’s what keeps me around 😉
I simp for vintage
lol you shoulda met naed, he was on even more than vintage, and he was super super good with pc stuff, about on par with vintage
now hes busy with work and stuff
sad
Who doesnt
lol
vintage has many many simps

hi mr sass
Where do I download the windows thing from for my usb?
20h2?
just a version of windows
That link doesn’t work.....
Nvm I clicked it a third time and now it is downloading
well here
Weird
huh
its windows 10 but without an activation
i used it on my pc
oh
you dont need an activation key anyways
exactly
It's nice to have
ive been using my pc without windows for 1-2 years now
Regedit annoying
My old pc says my windows key is linked to my Microsoft Account sooo
no need for activation key
It was a prebuilt that came activated with win 10 pro
I didn’t order it like that lol just came
So now that I'm back, this is what I'm rocking with once my 3070 shows up.
Amy suggestions or advice? I know the mobo needs flashed.
it should at most cost $200
that is insanely expensive for a 240mm aio
yeah
costs more than every 360mm aio I've bought
Don't go by the prices on the list. I have all the parts
valid
not horrible
it looks good then
your build seems overbuilt for a 3070
3070 wasn't my aim its what I ended up with
looks like a 3090 build at the minimum
mhmm
5900x + se-224-xt probably wins kek
I got it to go with my phanteks case. I'm glad it's performance is good though lol
I'm going for the white build look. But limited gpus force me into the 3070 that I won from the shuffle
but then again your 3600x is insanely good
not really
@wise sorrel what exactly are you planning to do with the PC?
it's like a silver sample
better than average for sure
Gaming/streaming/maybe passive mining.
ehh
Uh
it can only do 4.2ghz all core manual oc
Definitely overbuilt..
I'm actually going to look to go back to school for game design though also
How much of it do you have?
All of it.
yeah I feel like you spent $1000 more than you should have
Eh
The 3070 just got shipped from newegg though
at 3440x1440 you can definitely pair that 3070 with a 10400f and see zero performance loss compared to a 5800x
It's not bad, but budget allocation could've been better
mhm
I was actually thinking of upping to a 5900
Oh wait I just read the first message again
coulda done a 10700f and 3080 build tbh with better budgeting
I'm staying amd
oke
I thought you meant need advice with changing the list
intel is insanely good for budget rn just saying
your build is over 50% more expensive than my 3080 build
5800x just way overpriced for what you get
Nah just opinions. This is my 1st build
@wise sorrel but as a side note, 5900x gains you no performance over 5800x in gaming with 3070
I plan to try obtain a 3090 at some point
A white 3090 strix is my endgame. Buttttt we all know the gpu issues at the moment lol
dont get 3090 just for gaming
at 3440x1440 the 5900x would be 0 gain over a 10400f
3090 is like a 3080 but better for workstation
hell probably even an r5 1600
not much gaming perf increase 3080 to 3090
with a 3070
Hmmm that's good to know
3090 mining efficiency is pretty bad
Imc crap
Again I'm thinking of going into game design for schooling so does the 3080 3090 make a difference
I would go 10400f
the 3070 is not gonna push 3440x1440 100 fps in modern games
maybe some but not all
definitely would have to drop settings
Well, stuff like unity likes CPU power for the calculations, some gpu power for actually rendering things.
Eh
Depends on which games
So go for a 3080 then?
yeah
Ofc no cp2077
Pushes 120+ in everything I throw at it, RTX excluded, of course
If possible at a reasonable price, hell yes, if not currently possible, oh well.
3080 vs 3090?
I'd expect 100-120 at the increased res
3080
K
I am also speaking future facing perf
3090 gets like 10% gain in performance for double the price
Eh
maybe some really rich people
You never know what will go on in the future
pretty sure he wants it for other things as well
iirc
development
Nothing else that matters
Unity and such don't really care as long as the gpu is decent
3090 is a meme if you don't do ML or stuff like that
Gaming, streaming, passive mining, video game design
Unless you're throwing blender at it all day or something
roblox
No good gain
3090 mining efficiency is pretty low
is the 11400f better than the 10400f?
i think its same apu
No benches yet afaik
tuned 3090 is like 375 kh/w
sad
how much more is 11500 over 11400?
like $30 I think
smh
Is the 6900xt watercooled a good choice over the 3070
But it's also very expensive
6900xt rt on loses really hard to 3060 rt on in cyberpunk
Hybrid 6900xt starts at like 1300$
So stick with the nvidia
What does rt accomplish? I'm a noob to this
Ray tracing
fancy lighting at the cost of fps
some people care about it
I don't
it's basically unplayable on radeon though
Oh that's good to know.
My next big game I plan to start my streaming with and will have this pc with is RE8
So I want the performance the best
😳
yes
Is it normal for the first boot to take soooo long before getting to windows?
It took for ever to get to first time setup now it’s taking for ever to get into windows
My ssd and hdds should be gpt or mbr?
What’s the diff?
But my 2tb ssd and 2 4 tb hdds are asking to initialize the disks and gives those 2 options
GPT is fine
Anyone know any good gaming laptops probably going to be using it for Val, Minecraft and csgo? Right now I heard some one say g14 and was wondering is there any better ones
Gaming laptops are housefire starters
Not literally but I would just get a itx pc if you need it to be portable
Lmao how is that portable
Bruh wouldn’t I have to bring a monitor with me
haha
you got me on that one
Yeah
So whats your budget
I personally like asus rog series laptops but I dont have much knowledge about laptops
1200-1500
Thats what should happen. They pay for the parts, send them to you, then you ship it out to them when finished. Make them sign legal agreement between you and them, to protect both of you. Like if a part gets broken before it gets there, you don't have to pay for it and if they don't pay you, you can sue them, etc. Could be a very good business.
ok
Yeah I haven’t met anyone with much laptop knowledge
I think I will try to find out through YouTube videos or something
let me quck list some you should check them out
its 3k...
I know lol
He was just naming some
and Asus ROG Zephyrus ofc
To narrow it down more https://pcpartpicker.com/products/compare/7HFKHx,YzrYcf,JbgQzy/
I dont know his budget just listing some that i think its good
acer predator helios 300 looks pretty too
it is?
oh
Yea
Mb
Yeah, but some people like a finished product before they hand over the money, which I understand, it's hard to tell if someone is just gonna take your money and run, or actually fulfill the order. Sending the parts to the builder would be ideal, but I bet that rarely happens when it comes to trusting someone else with that kind of money. And, the builder doesn't make as much cause they're missing out on the 10% part mark up, and the down payment.
Mainly the part markup, cause the down payment covers their pc
Dell G3 15 is cool for low budget 🤔
I’m looking at the ROG Zephyrus and it looks like it has pretty good specs
yeah theyre so pretty
@sonic pasture This is a good start

11370h+3060 for 1400$
they also offer 5900hx+3060 for 1500$ but maxes out on the budget
yeah looks good
That’s ok I’m flexible with my budget
they prob also offer a 3070 laptop somewhere around 1500, lemme check
GIGABYTE AORUS 15G XC have 3070 but its for 1800 ig
They're honest about it
True
2 hour battery life is long for a gaming laptop
the laptop I just sold had a solid 15 minutes of battery life for browsing

This starts with ~1600$ for 10870h+3070 (for the 2x8 ram)
https://xoticpc.com/collections/extreme-series-gaming-laptops/products/xotic-g70d-pc70dp-d-pc70dr-d-pc70ds-d?conf=374515
guy opened it up to check specs
and the battery dropped by like 60% while he was looking at it
LOL
never heard that brand
Tf size battery did it have?? Like 2000mAh?
Same
it was heavily degraded from being plugged in whenever it was in use
max-q :(
xotic is great
also I would go ryzen in laptop if waiting is not an issue
they have good warranty policies
I wanted a new ampere laptop asap
@earnest olive smh what else are you going to find at the price
Yeah, that'll do it, batteries work better amd longer if they stay at around 50% full capacity
well I paid 1700 for mine and it has a 130W 3070
idk about ryzen but never buy laptop with amd graphics if you dont wanna issue xd
and it's 15.6"
yeah
I was laptop shopping for a while
xotic did not have any attractive options
everything half decent was preorder for may/june
yeah thats pretty decent deal
Imo, if you need a laptop for like school or work sure, but if your gaming, rendering, editing, etc. Just get a desktop
10750h gets weirdly low perf in league though
I’m confused which should I get
actually, they might have the F15 in stock

I'm looking for a pc for Gaming , streaming, animation and a tiny bit of editing, My budget is 2000 USD
Needs to be portable
@sharp tundra I was staying at gf's place and trying to play games with her
got so sick of 60hz screen I just bought a new gaming laptop
76WHr battery
I can't stand 60hz
it doesn't say pre-order for the f15 so
@sonic pasture For now, this is still the suggestion, until you can find a better deal than 11370h+3060 for 1400$

what about this
I wouldn't buy a quad core laptop in 2021 idk
eh
my i7-7700hq was lagging trying to graph 3d shapes for math homework lol
There is situations where it is necessary, but I know some people just want a laptop for whatever damn reason, even if they're just gonna have it sit on a desk anyways
Lmao
lemme hop on passmark
it took 3 minutes to graph a simple cone
@sharp tundra it's ok at home I just leave the laptop mining
It absolutely slaps 10100 somehow @earnest olive
https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/Intel-i7-11370H-vs-Intel-i3-10100/4048vs3717
hm
but I saw really weird frame drops in games that shouldn't be frame dropping
temps?
I managed to get into advanced bios to unlock undervolting
tried something like throttlestop?
-65mV
