i guess many people had the same idea i had
"hey i wanna build a computer"
makes me not feel very unique š
yeah many people got into gaming
ok
ill go buy an optiplex
gaming optiplex š³
optiplex with RTX 3080 š³
buy a new one š
Ummm idk what your GPU will be SpaceRat but that PSU is pretty weak only 450 isnt gonna handle much
@stoic island looks like the case might be delivered today or tomorrow
Can I connect the Corsair rgb fans? on to the nzxt fan controller on ?? Like can I use that as the fan headers I know you got to put the rgb on the node .
Nzxt fan controller on The case ?
The fan headers are universal mostly, it's the RGB hubs you need to do a bit of research to tell if it's 3 or 4 pin.
What exactly is the difference, just out of curiosity?
I know DRGB at the very least is 3 pin but I havenāt used many other types of addressable RGB
ARGB is 3 pins and is 5 volts. 4 pins is 12 volts. Don't mix up the two and plug a 4 pin fan into a 3 pin header or something will burn.
It's really bad design that the 4 pin ones even fit into the 3 pin...
Noted
Fair
can't be me
dell xps 8940
its got good specs
but you can't change fan curve on dell bios, they put a stock cooler on it, and it just randomly freezes if you start something resource heavy
which kinda defeats the whole purpose of me getting it
Is h510 bad
Its pretty good
I dont think a bad NZXT case exists
might be wrong tho
that case is definitely good tho
The H510 can be a little restrictive for airflow. As long as you aren't doing anything extreme, it can work fine.
Worked fine for me before upgrading.
I need some advice I have two noctua fans for intake and the other two as outtake but I just ordered one more fan should I put it too out take or my cpu cooler
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H25DYM3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Mhmm
I have this cooler
I already have two good intake fans
And 2 fans that came with my case as out take
Do I put the new fan on out take or cooler
If you care about dust definitely positive
Cause the cooler can have two fans
Do you have space for a third intake fan?
Well okay
And I have 2 good ones
Any top exhaust?
I'd put it on top exhaust ig
Ohh
Should I put the extras on cpu cooler
Which case
There's already one top exhaust right?
H510
Oof
Lol
Wait that doesn't have top exhaust does it?
It does on the back and top
In that case I'd probably put it on cooler ig
I would say use the noctua fans as an intake because they are known to be very good and use the generic stuff that came with ur case as outtake.
Ok
Yeah, noctua as intakes and others as exhaust
Don't do anything front intake on H510, it's a waste of fans tbh
Bottom intake decent
Top exhaust decent
And make sure the cooler fan is in intake arrangemnt towards the side of the noctuas
Huh
So turn front intake into bottom intake
Take fresh air from front and exhaust towards back
And then have the others on the top and back
yeah
H510 front ain't getting any air so
Convection would work
noctuas on bottom
That's fair
Bottom only real option
I didn't know there was a bottom
Where I don't see it bro
Like in the psu bay thing
Or above
Oh lmao forgot it didn't have bottom intake
Stock was negative pressure
H510 being h510
Just do fans top exhaust and rear exhaust
Intake won't do anything in that case without taking the front panel off :p
I have 6 total fans and and 6 slots
2 intake which have good fans one on cooler with generic and 2 exhaust with generic fans
Yay for h510 not having good intake
Lmao
Can you even take off the front panel on it
Temps aren't that bad I guess
I know you can with the h510 elite
You can
If ain't broke, don't fix it
My Temps ain't like they were before
If it's fine, leave it as is and never open any monitoring software again, you'll live happily without having to know about the temps
Just leave it
Ik I prolly should
Thermal throttling exists for a reason
The chip won't kill itself
It has protection mechanisms
And how do I change gpu fan speed its always fast even on idle
Msi afterburner fan control might work
I updated bios now the fans are aids
If it doesn't you might be screwed
It was quiet then I updated bios now it so loud on idel
bruhhhh
motherbord?
Me
GIGABYTE B550 AORUS Elite
Ok so start app centre
Hold on
and open thermal console
I need too turn on my pc
let it do its thing
It's called siv right
yee
Itll re calibrate the fans
and you can choose the quiet preset
Coil whine?
Not on the base H510/H510i.
Just clearing that up.
What
It's different than could whine its like you know
Like a truck running its like that
Do you have afterburner installed?
that only works for graphics card fans
I just saw the part about the GPU fans.
he didnt say gpu fans
he said fans
It was two messages up from that one. I didn't know if he was still referring to the GPU fans or the system fans at that point.
Although, I've never had any fans run full speed after a bios update. That's a new one for me.
That's good.
gigabyte detects my system as a new motherboard every time I update bios lol
Yeesh. Never had that problem with MSI, Asus, or that bad HP motherboard from my old pre-built.
I almost went Gigabyte too.
Only reason why I went for the gigabyte board was because I got a fantastic deal tbh
i need a new gpu , i have the gtx 1650 rn. it can barely run cold war, so whatās my best bet for under 300bucks iām broke
300 my bad haha
You could probably get a GTX 1650
used rx580 or 1650S. but tbh it's so hard to get any gpu that's decently priced

he said he currently has it lol
Ik lol
kek
Best thing you can do is lower the settings for now
a 1650 for a 1650
alright thanks haha, iām still learning more about building so i appreciate the help
just keep that one and put the settings to its lowest
yeah it runs ok at lowest, iāll just do that for now
coz it' be hard to find any gpu rn lol
true it sucks
I'm gonna try to sleep
me too lmao
Rest well comrade
u too my dude š
I suppose someday I'll get to puzzle out fan placement in the case I bought last year.
i couldn't post pictures in any of the other channels but can someone tell me if this is good or garbage wifi
Depends on what speeds you're paying for
11 isnt for the csgo server@ripe relic
Depends how far you are from the server really
how do i know if my ram is installed correctly?
ask the motherboard's manual. and how did u install it tho
You line up the notch in the ram with the notch on the motherboard RAM slot, then you depending on your motherboard you might have to apply a bit of pressure
it's properly installed if the pc opens and shows that you have the total amount of ram (assuming it's 2x8gb dual channel config)
hmmm
i will read manuel
The question is, which slots did u put the ram
Go to manual too see where channel a and channel b where
As long as it still makes proper contact in the slot, it should be fine.
Put then in the 2nd and 4th slots
hi guys i need help so i just built by pc and it was fine at first and now it just turns off when i play a game
Assuming it's dual channel
its in slots 1 and 3
Still good
What do your temps look like before it happens?
How do I take this out?
usually itās at 40 for both the cpu and gpu @manic sparrow
What power supply do you ahve
Prob psu thing cutting things out lol
corsair rm850x
Motherboard, CPU and GPU?
After u open it gently, gently drop it in the palm of ur hand
msi mpg z390 the cpu is i79700k and 3070
Nice
my building is kinda old so it could be that itās just too much maybe?
Did u placed it the right way tho
No, it shouldn't be just shutting off
installing my first cpu š
Think it might be a power delivery issue somewhere?
yeah, something not connected right or loose
I'm in no worries of holding my first cpu since it's intel
And the board is just $120 lol
you might have overtightened
does the pc still turn on
What kind of weird noise? A squeak? A crack?
if its a crack...oh no
Weird noise is a very broad category, hoping it's not so over-tightened that it cracked the socket
best case scenario if the crack happened, some of the mounting hardware cracked
squeak
no shuffle today eh?
Squeak is fine. Don't tighten it too much though, and make sure it's even for best results.
ok
Not on weekends typically
I installed my ram and cpu cooler what do i do now
sheesh
Install the GPU if you haven't, any storage devices, and check and double check all your power connections to everything.
And the front panel connectors for the power/reset/LEDs
ok
Dont get intimidated by the front panel connectors btw
they look annoying but they are fairly easy
The hexagon looking screws (standoffs) attach to the case, under the motherboard. (highlighted yellow)
The screws with the hexagon head screw the motherboard to the standoff screws. (highlighted blue)
Position is dependent on the board lining up with the IO shield in the back of the case as well as the motherboard standoff holes
It'll only fit one way
No, need to move it
really its hitting the board??
IDK, is it hitting the board? If it's not touching the board, it's fine. If it's under the board, not fine.
Pliers and twist?
ok
Yes if you can
On the edge, I wouldn't, in the middle, should be fine
Edge ones are the most important imo
Yes
Cause that's the anchor point if you wanna yank something from the mobo
Say a 24 power pin
which one?
Yo mean those three holes in the middle, the silver ones?
I would put that one in if you can
If not, board will flex inserting and taking out ram
If anything, I'd leave the bottom right one out if you have to leave something out
that is the only one that is isn't matching up with the rest......
Looking at your picture, the board seems to be too low in the case
Do all of the ports line up with the back of the case?
IE speakers and stuff?
audio?
ye
Does your case support M-ATX boards? All the holes should line up, might have to add a standoff tho?
Are all the other screws tight?
yes
Loosen them up so the board can wiggle
ok
Start all the screws but don't tighten them
I did that
Once they're all started, then tighten fully
ima just try to screw it in sideways
when I start to feel the screws tighten do i stop?
The motherboard screws should go all the way down, touching the board. Don't tighten past there or you can crack it.
how to install gpu?
what case..?
they have to be removed, different cases have different ways of removing them
most common is just a screw
lian li 205m
ok
might be a snap off setup
when I push them in they come off a little
Those kinds of brackets are made to snap off when you bend them
You'll need to take off 2 probably, the ones lining up with where the GPU will sit
Hi whatās the difference between dpi and hdmi
@raw crane you mean dp?
lol
Sorry so used to changing my dpi on my mouse
dp is displayport, its just a different type of port/cable for video
if you can use that over hdmi, then dp is better
Oh okay, cool thank you
np
Is there a kind of dp I need?
Like I know thereās different HDMIās
Like hdmi 1 hdmi 2
the ports still the same, just different version like hdmi
Most people it doesn't matter, but if you're running extremely high resolution or high refresh rates you need to pay attention to the versions
Any displayport will be able to handle that, but if you do hdmi make sure the cable is at least 2.0
does the psu fan face down or up
Is this sata 2 or 3?
https://store.supermicro.com/supermicro-sata-flat-straight-straight-57-5cm-cable-cbl-0044l.html
This is the same serial code, only the one I have from an old build is curled
I also have another one that Iām unsure about but it doesnāt contain any serial it just says serial ata
Hello, I has a question
it doesnt specify lol
I recently bought a be quiet 802 and it comes with 3 stock fans, I was wondering if I should buy a noctua 12x25 and put it on the top back portion so there is flow on top of the case instead of just the 2 in the front and 1 in the back. Is this necessary since it already has 3?
I wouldn't want to introduce noise for a small change in performance/Temps, I make music so I want want it as quiet as possible.
Look at the Amazon reviews then if it doesn't specify, there's always someone complaining if it's actually sata 2
Would sata 2 work on an hdd and modern mobo?
I just need an extra sata for a old hard drive
Yes, it will work but be limited to 3Gb/s
Thatās fine, I wouldnāt use it for anything major I have 2 4tb hdd and a 2tb ssd. Itās the drive from my old pc so if it isnāt fried from the surge then I want my data off of it (some important some not)
I mean if it is loud when you make music you can adjust the fan curve in the bios and make it quiet when its idle
Ah, yeah true. Do you think it's worth getting it thought for temp/performance? Like will it even make a difference
maybe. send a pic of your pc so I can visually see how its set up
you could get 2 more for top
but if not that should be fine
and if you are having an aio I would top mount the rad
Alright, I'll see what performance I get with stock because when recording, only the cpu usage will be heavy so I'm not sure if the cpu cooler is good enough for that or if I should get something to direct air out from the top.
I don't wanna be running super high Temps and damage my stuff if it can be fixed with 1 or 2 fans on the top, u know?
A 5900x and noctua NH-D15
thats a pretty good airflow case so should be fine
yeah that should be beefy enough for it
filters?
I want to use the sound dampening options instead of the airflow ones, in that setup I'm a bit more iffy is to how the airflow will be. But with the airflow parts, I'm confident it will stay cool at the expense of sound.
if its too loud then you could always run it in another room maybe
and run wires to record audio
On the top portion in the back (2nd picture), there's a few vents but I'm not sure it a fan would make a difference since it's only that area and on thr top back only
Idk if that would work since it's just my room but I'll consider it an option if I can
i have 5 fans a exhaust and instake are already installed and I have 3 more rgb fans the ones installed aren't rgb
what fan congiruation should i use
configuration*
Push at the back and top, pull at the front
huh?
Yes
ok
But in most cases having two fans top actually is pointless
It just takes out intake air before its even reached components to cool
Not really
In what way
Well letās say you have 3 intakes, and without the top 2 fans you have 1 output so thatās unequal. With the extra 2 exhaust itās equal air pressure
Less dust
You don't need equal air pressure
Positive air pressure is completely fine
I would say the most amount of fans is 3 intake 1 top 1 rear
Having 2 top has no benefit
Unless you are mounting an aio rad up there
Then obviously that changes things
also I got these things that i put on the fans do i use them
I run positive pressure in my case and have no problems with dust
Positive pressure is recommended for almost all use cases
That way it's not pulling air through the PCI brackets and other gaps that aren't filtered
so no fans at the top??
yo should i buy the alienware auroura r11 with the i9 or the amd. (mostly going to be used for creative apps and gaming in 4k)\
: (
Fans at the top should blow air out of the case
Fan at the back blows out
Fans on the bottom, front, and side blow in
ok : )
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GDcrsX thoughts?
I'd do a 650W and a Gammax 400 but otherwise looks good
š
I should be more active here
And ty
Oh
The cpu is overclockable but not the mobo lol
Oof
What if the MOBO front connectors doesnāt have a reset switch?
I plugged in the power led+, power led-, power SW, and HHD LED but no reset switch
Most modern mobos do but if it doesn't then i think ya just dont have a reset seitch
Like the case didnt come with the wires for the reset switch?
Ohhhhhhh
Yes, the case didnāt come with a reset switch
Okay thank you
The hdd I had in storage has the little piece that turns on the sata power, is this ok or should I not put it in? The sata power clicked upon plug in but itās missing that little notch
Can you send me the link to your case
Lian li o-11 dynamic
It should be fine
Thanks
š
Yes! š
Mines white doe š
It doesnt even seem to have any buttons on the front panel
Just to clarify, the issue is that the case doesn't have a wire to plug into the reset pins on the mobo?
gotchu š
Does the case have a reset button?
Thats why
That*
You can wire the power button as reset but then you won't have a power button lol
At that point powers more important then reset/restart
What happens if the MOBO needs a reset
Tbh you don't need the reset/restart button
Otaayyyy
But i get where your coming from, it would be helpful to have
Yeah š¢
The reset can be thought of as a power cycle, not an actual reset
Yeah it doesn't really reset anything
Lol
which brand is it
aios are confusing i get ya
Lian li
ah alright
so there should be somewhere on the mobo that says sys fan which I believe you can plug in the power there and the rgb there should be either another sys fan or a power pin plug
Okay Iāll look
The fan power goes into CPU_FAN and the pump goes into PUMP_FAN if you have that header
There is sys fan and pump fan
Yeah you need something in the CPU_FAN header or it'll error in BIOS or refuse to POST thinking the fan is bad
I'm not sure, I started like 17 years ago I think?
So one goes into cpu fan and other goes into pump
My first build was a frankenstein monster of a Windows 98 machine lol
That one on the right looks like RGB
It should have an RGB controller that came with it
Then the controller plugs into the motherboard
its alive!
Wait Iām confused, these are cpu water cooler waited
Wires*
Itās not the fans
These are the wires for the fans that Iām gonna connect to a controller where the others are gonna connect as well
yes
That one goes into CPU_FAN I believe
Okay
Anyone here have knowledge of Western digital HDD's? My Seagate (Seagate BarraCuda 4TB 5400 RPM 256MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5"), after 2 years, has noticeable gone down in speed over the past 2-3 months. I mean, it takes 2-3 hours to transfer 60gb's from ssd to that hdd, where it would take minutes before that... 6gb/s to 5 mb/s. Any recommendations?
Check the SMART data using a tool like crystaldiskinfo
Seagate Barracudas like to die alot
I've found that out the hard way, lul
When I try to download it, it says I am not connected to the database. IT happens to all the downloads I have tried. @potent portal
Their download server must be down, hang on
does it matter that it is 32 bit?
No
32 bit runs on 64 bit fine, it's just limited to about 3.5GB of memory usage
16 bit won't run on 64 bit at all, but nothing uses that any more
@austere condor what do you think of this list I wanted some feedback https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kHLxdD
for a mining rack?
Hey anyway that can help with water cooling a laptop? I just need help on find one with the right sized brackets
water cooling a laptop... O_O
using some really expensive stuff for just a mining rack
i think people only do that as a joke
@rich helm
Yah its a fun bulid I'm working on
I wanted recommendations didnāt know what to buy
now is not the time to get into mining'
and basically everything you've picked is either WAY over priced or jus overkill
Yah don't mine now that one lady who crashed that boat crashed the market
If you mine in the side it's still pretty profitable if you bought a gpu to game with but yeah wouldn't recommend buying stuff just to mine
Yah if you have a few spare gtx 1070's laying around you could make a few bucks
That's what i said....
Yah I was agreeing
ahh sounded like you were disagreeing, read that wrong lol
Itās cool lol
Ah ok, my dad was considering building one as an investment sort of thing assuming we could get cards at msrp.
Lol gl with getting msrp parts
Newegg shuffle and acquiring them over time was what we wanted to do
Too long to be worth, and Newegg still is selling not msrp cards too
I bought a 3060 at msrp from them
well yes but most are 75 + over msrp
from what i hear
That isnt that bad
No but it will definitely eat into your profits
If your trying to make profit or selling to someone
Trying to make profit minining
Ah your a miner
Never tried mining
Although i could
No someone wanted to make a mining rig, I'm mining on my 3070 on the side tho
Ah
Whats your cpu?
Ryzen 5 3600 why?
Just wondering
Ahh, whish i had an 8 core cpu tho might upgrade to a 3700x or something i can find a second hand one in a year or so, would to 5th gen but feel like a 5800x isn't good deal and kinda feel like it would be too much for my b450 mobo
3700x is amazing highly recommend
Doesn't get very hot either
Nice nice
Yeah I have a 3700x itās pretty good
Nice, it's only a 65w tdp as well
Anybody feel like helping me pick out a motherboard to start
My Z87 is finally gone practically
Man where's that one guy that was on the ball ready to help me lol
What socket board are you looking to get? The latest stuff is pretty affordable right now.
What should I clean thermal paste off with ?
Best case scenario, microfiber cloth splashed with 90% isopropyl alcohol
You want something with a high % alcohol content (low water content), in a pinch paper towels work but don't leave residue
Ok ty
Iām watching a video on how to install the hyper 212 and Iāve followed every step but now when I try to put it on the mother board the screws donāt match up with where it has to go
Anyone have any tips to help fix it ?
This is how it looks right now
Do you have the right bracket attached?
Yea I have the right bracket but Iāll look at the manual rn
Yea that was before I knew the screws didnāt line up
But I read the manual and fixed it ty for the advice
Why the Kraken? Water cooling is unnecessary but if you're getting it for looks it's cool.
Can someone give me a decent $1000 USD pc good at running rust, valorant, apex, r6, and some school work?
they wanted watercooling
I'd do this instead of the XPG https://www.newegg.com/hp-ex920-1tb/p/N82E16820326778R
That XPG drive has had so many changes, not all of them good, it's impossible to tell which revision you'll get before testing.
Is it just me or is pcpp saying almost everything is out of stock?
it is
All my saved builds are saying out of stock on all but a few things, weird
GUYS I DID ALL MY WIRING !!
EEE I just need to wait until my ram and gpu comes in š„² Iām glad I put in everything else early tho because holy moly š„²
Unless you already have the mobo, imo you're better off getting a 10700k
So I have the enermax revolution d.f. 850 watts. My mother keeps telling me you need to orientate the fan up words into the case and Iām saying orientate it down into the ventilation vents on the bottom of the case. Who is right here.
Case model for reference is: fractal meshify 2 atx xl
orient it wherever itll get air
I prefer intake from the case
or wherever power cable is closest to the right when being plugged in
But there is not ventilation on the bottom of the psu?
because im building my pc on thursday
none on the meshify 2?
surprising
yeah fam
shomi picture
I donāt know thatās the last part I need and it arrives tomorrow, but the psu only has vent on top and plastic cover on bottom
Sure 1 sec
about the motherboard first, is that back thingy, like idk that plastic thing that is supposed to go on the back of the motherboard, is it already on it? or do i have to put it on?
Oh I donāt have the case
you have to put it on
usually need a standoff of sorts
alright, about the aio cooler, what bracket am i supposed to use for the Asus B550-F with Ryzen 9-5900x
Top
I think the meshify 2 has vents under the psu
kinda stupid question about the memory, what slots am i supposed to put the memory in?
Above too
did you get 2 or 4 sticks?
Bottom
So you could do either way
2
then the 2nd and 4th, going right
its not about the PSU
its about the case
which is what I was asking for pictures of
I know , I know, I just donāt know which way the psu will push/pull from
Maybe not, but when you get the case, look at where the vents are where you put the psu
alright about the fans, is it supposed to look like this? or the opposite? like is it supposed to be top 3 exhaust and side and bottom intake like in the photo or different?
which AIO did you get
You can orient it up or down, so if it only has vents one way, that's the way to do it
Corsair ICUE H150i RGB PRO XT
This is all I got, pulled it from the vendor listing
is that a 240, 280, or 360mm AIO?
its a 360mm AIO
I think the O11 has 360mm space at the top
it does
so mount it as shown in picture
and the fans?
bruh
how many did you get
ive been doing this for only 4.5 months ok
i got 9, ill replace the stock fans that come with the aio cooler.
why?
because they are not rgb, and if i put rgb fans on the side and bottom only and not the top it would look ugly
Do not
They are RGB?
yeah...
which fans are you talking about?
corsair comes with RGB fans, no?
The ones that come with the h150i
They are lol
the ones that come with the cooler are not rgb
those are RGB lmao
no
yes
no
omfg
I doubt they show it
you see those white blades?
Iām pretty sure they are
those are RGB fan blades
they are not
OMFG
what do you mean 'they are not'
you š are š wrong š
aight this is confusing now
why
i look it up and theres like 7 different corsair fans
one with 4 leds
one with none
LL120
QL
the ones that come on that AIO are RGB tho
they arent tho, i checked alot of youtube videos, they are not, i think the capellix are tho, but no the Pro XT
which videos
newegg/google was confusing the elite and pro xt
unboxing videos idk
He is right, the pro xt isnāt rgb fans
put the rad in push/pull
^
different fans tend to work... less well
non RGB on case side and RGB on interior
The elite is rgb fans
but its corsair aswell
nah its all corsair
oh
Actually
Which ones?
still tho
i mean
ML, LL or QL?
they arent really good corsair fans
ML LL or QL
Sp120's
uh
even different fans from same company tend to work different
why
they arent great
those are custom loop fans iirc
thats all he had, he didnt have ll's or ql's if he did tho i would have bought it
is that good?
Don't think so for what you need them for
Sounds like more work, Iāve never dealt with those
i mean, honestly im not planning on keeping them forever i will change them one day, but i guess they are ok for now right?
Well
Yeah
ML120 is top
SP is bottom
Better warranty and better bearings
yeah, honestly im just happy i got the SP120's because thats all he had so im lucky, with that, plus in the future other fans are going to come out, that are going to be better than the LL and QL you know so yeah
from what i can tell its just a beefed up LL120
the QL?
but other than that, is this the right fan placement? top exhaust, side and bottom intake?
No the SP
Yes
wait, so the SP is better than the LL, LL just has better RGB?
i mean honestly that makes me more happy because i really wanted LL120's, so me getting the better fan is making me happier
unless you specifically want iCUE i would buy EK fans when you upgrade
Vardars
do they have good RGB?
will keep them in mind when coming to upgrade one day
they are
you are right
btw do you know if the Asus Strix 1000W PSU have the 3 slots for the GPU, because im scared that they only have 2
like for the cables
idk
thank god then
good
Which one specifically?
wdym?
they make multiple no?
I think theres only one 1000w model from Asus?
i think its that one idk
the thor?
here you can see the modular area
Why specifically 3 8 pins?
that was just an example
from what i can tell it has 3 PCIe 8 pins
mando
and 1 or 2 EPS
that was an example from me
i was questioning his original question
dummy
shush
because the RTX 3080 card im having takes 3 8pins
yeah
Asus im guessing?
might be FTW3
no, MSI Suprim X
ewwww
it cant be that bad come on
whats wrong with MSI
Any have build in case silverstone sg13 for $900?
Even if the PSU had 2, you could only plug in 2
Just overpriced/bad cooling
yeah but wouldnt it be less powerful?
eh
stock it will never pull more than 375w
i thought the MSI Suprim X had alright cooling
for something at a minimum of 700$ "alright" doesn't cut it imo
ay honestly im happy with my graphics card, and also he didnt have the Strix or the EVGA so thats all he had
no i live in egypt
Oh
hes in egypt lmao
so stuff in here is pretty limited
yeah
so thats why im saying im lucky that i got that graphics card
because there isnt much in egypt
but yeah
@wanton cliff @little osprey other than the Motherboard piece on the back, the AM4 aio cooler bracket, ram sticks placement, and the aio cooler placement with the fans placement, is there anything else i should be on the lookout for?
thats obvious if you read manual tho
Also, don't replace the AIO fans
so how you're gonna do it
when you put the AIO in
im not throwing them away tho
put the ones that come with it on top and the RGB on the bottom
so the top ones are hidden
ill think about it
one last thing about the ram, i heard that the Ram sticks are set to 2000 something MHz, so what do i do to make them 3600 MHz
What mobo?
Asus B550-f
ROG B550
ik you said its not great lol
yeah your right
and you're set
should be the first one yes
alright will ill see about that when i build the pc
also no
hes gonna have to go to the AI tweaker or whatever and set the DOCP speed manually
wdym
from 2133mhz to 3600mhz or whatever
i said DOCP
is there anything important to overclock other than the Ram sticks? or is the Ram sticks technically not getting overclocked and im just setting them to their original MHz?
the first thing in the DOCP list should be his kit rated
no
which is not B550-F
identical bios
not an overclock
dont worry
Going into bios rn
Just checked
send pics
yeah but do i update windows and let it automatically download the drivers then update the GPU drivers and Motherboard drivers or how do i do it exactly, if there is a video you know that can help i would much appreciate it
you will have the newest version of windows downloaded
drivers dont get automatically downloaded
you have to go to nvidia website to download them
motherboard doesnt have drivers except BIOS
but i think i saw a video of JayzTwoCents or something
if you are missing something like audio or ethernet then you will need to download those
What board u got
same thing on my B450-F as well

did you do an sfc /scannow or something lmao
No I restarted 4 timea

windows drivers
99% of the time you wont be missing anything
if you are, go to motherboard maker website and download them
Technically speaking XMP is still an overclock, anything above the base jedec speed is. That's why Intel used to limit your RAM speeds, even if you got a 4000 kit you could only do 2666 or 2933 max. They wanted you to pay the overclock tax and get a z chip board.
intel gronsk for OC
they make taxes for that stuff which is unpoggers
z-series tax, as you said
tho its technically an OC, its not really an OC
Yeah, it's an overclock that the memory is certified to be able to achieve in (nearly) all situations
@wanton cliff can you send me a link of where i can download the latest drivers for the B550-F motherboard, like chipset driver, ethernet driver, soundcard driver etc.
you dont need them
wdym i dont need them
you only need them when Windows screws up a download, which it very rarely does
Eh, it's still good to clear up those missing chipset drivers that Windows can't download
come back and ask if it does
The strix right?
but if i do it just in case would it ruin anything?
yes
Missing "base system component" or similar errors are pretty common, Windows doesn't have every driver in the database
and the .DLL libraries are always incomplete too which is so annoying
but thats a separate problem
@potent portal @wanton cliff honestly if i had any problems ill just send a message here and then you could help me
i get a horrible static anytime i do any kind of screen capture
just a short burst
every couple seconds
Screenshare snipping alt prt
Is there ever a time you're not having problems mando?
i can't screenshare
