Better cooler like a gammaxx 400 or a se-224-xt always an option, assuming you have something like stock
The 4650g has Vega 7 doesn't it? And the 10100 has the UHD, where does the Vega 11 come in?
Wat
temps are usually fine, it just seems like the fans don't spin up at a good rate
4650g has its own iGPU
so its only at the beginning, before the fans kick in
Ok
ive looked through pretty much the entire bios at this point, no option for anything fan related
(dell bios btw)
no 3200g is vega 8
Alienware pc?
*Vega 8
too lazy to check
just sayin
whatever vega 7 was then
it says the bios version is 1.0.5, should i try updating?
Apparently nothing according to techpowerup
But also the 4650g according to techpowerup
@fading gulch Found something, in your bios, go to the Intel Software Guard Extension menu, there's something called "Fan Control Override" that might allow you to control fan curves
@lyric thistle I mean, AMD doesn't say a name for the iGPU for the 4650g, so I don't think there is a name for the iGPU on the 4650g
under the guard extension thing is only "intel sgx enable" and "enclave memory size"
Vega with the number
nothing with fans
Page 65 of the manual here says there is :(
https://dl.dell.com/topicspdf/xps-8940-desktop_service-manual_en-us.pdf
oh ill take a look
Special apu not meant for anyone to ever touch, so no proper information for you
They might've used a different mobo on the xps that has a cut down bios
@fading gulch Okay, looks like you might have to enable SGX, and then in the Power Management sub menu, there's the fan control override
at least that's how I understand the manual
I mean this is literally the manual for the xps 8940 so I doubt it
I don't think I have access to fan control on my computer
Xps 8940 could have a wide range of specs tho
Yes, but dell proprietary bios is dell proprietary bios
They don't just cut it down for a new board
Responding to this bit smh
I've only really looked at dell and hp laptop manuals lol
oh well
just enabled sxg, still don't see it
:(
i could try a bios update
Should I trade my spare 2700x for a h150i elite cappelix and a 4000d airflow?
If you can find someone willing to make the trade, yes
Its stuck on this screen and it's been 20 mims
Just built the pc
Any tech expert who can help
I wouldn’t unplug it
Wait
Yeah you can unplug it and restart it because you haven’t had the chance to press yes right ?
hm
just updated bios, still not there :/
Anyone know a good pcie hard drive?
A w h a t
PCIe hard drive
I need to see this
What is it then?
PCIe SSD
It says solid state drive
Isn't that a hard drive?
It even says hard drive on the name
In the name?
it's solid state drive..?
Can't those be called hard drives as well? Especially since it's not a CLOUD based drive? It's a physical drive, therefore hard drive
back to this
But, to make y'all happy....anyone know a good PCIe SSD
idk perhaps a 905p
@little osprey Anyways, it's always an option to get a PCIe m.2 card that takes in m.2 SSDs
Ahh
yee
So a PCIe to m2 adapter?
pretty sure it's cheaper as well
What’s a good 24 pin 90 degree adapter brand
Why you say that ?
My board has two slots, and that gives you four more
Oh ok 😂
6 m2 NVME slots
Is it Intel compatible
Intel AND AMD
Yeah but the speeds won't be great. that fits in a x16 slot but the second x16 slot on motherboards only runs at x8. Which means each NVME will only get 2 lanes instead of 4
So roughly half speed per NVME drive
Or...I can put my gpu in slot two....
Or that lol
Big brains
x8 isn't terrible for a GPU but.....
It's only a 2070S
I can take a 20fps hit. Who knows, some of my games I might not even notice a difference
Any 24pin 90 degree adapters that are good ?
Never heard of any
Amazon, newegg
I’ll just go for one that has high reviews but they’re only like $6
To as high as $20
Trying to make my new rig build fancy
I got a problem with my PC not displaying. So I built my first gaming pc like 4 months ago and everything was running smoothly until couple days ago where my Pc would start (gpu and fans running) but no on screen post. I look at my motherboard and the QLED light shows a solid orange/yellow light in which case for my motherboard (X-570i Asus) it says DRAM so I did the usual troubleshooting by taking one stick out and turning it on but no luck. So I figured that my ram just died or whatever lmao. So I bought new ram and when I installed it I still got the same problem..Any help?
Motherboard? CPU? What slots is the ram in?
Ok, what is the board and CPU?
Motherboard is the Asus X570i gaming and my cpu is the Ryzen 7 3700x
Of course, they hid the CMOS battery UNDER the covers lol
I would recommend unplugging it from the wall and using something metal and conductive like tweezers, etc, to connect the CMOS jumper pins for a minute. That will reset the BIOS and then you can plug it back in and try and boot again
Alright I’ll give that a try tomorrow thanks for the advice
Hello, I'm new here and was wondering if I could get help understanding something about RAMs and compatibilities with motherboards
Ask away, dear friend
ram compatibility with motherboards is pretty straightforward
ddr4 ram works with ddr4 motherboard
ddr3 ram works with ddr3 motherboard
RAM speeds with different CPUs is another issue
Not gonna want to pair DDR4-2400 with a 5600x
I'm looking to buy this motherboard: https://www.newegg.com/msi-mpg-b550-gaming-carbon-wifi/p/N82E16813144322 and this RAM: https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232728. I see that on the motherboard it supports 3600 but also notice that at the end of all those numbers, it says A-XMP OC mode, while underneath all that are JEDEC. While I know that just looking at the ram type says it all, (ddr 3, ddr4), I get thrown off a bit with this overclocking stuff, are there really OC rams?
it'll work
xmp is just an OC profile validated by the manufacturer
Mhmm
Makes your RAM go from 2133mhz to 3600mhz
It stays at 2133 for safety reasons
oh I see, ok, I'm building me another PC here, already got my ryzen 7 3700x, just getting the rest of the stuff
Cool
3700x kinda cringe with the 5600x and 5800x out but still a good little 8-core CPU
Unless he got a good deal, he could’ve gone for a better CPU for usually cheaper, is what I mean
I just use cringe as a general term
...like what
I’ve been using Reddit too much
the 3700x still beats the 5600x in multicore workloads
the 5800x is in a different price class
Mhmm
And it’s still a great CPU, don’t get me wrong
But for gaming it’s going to get beat
Which is what I assume the system is for
yeah, gaming, I already help my girlfriend build hers and it runs wonderful for all her games, just waiting to see how it will handle planet zoo from steam.
Handles everything I can throw at it.
I’m just saying, there are better options
Not that the 3700x is necessarily a bad option
Just that there can be better ones
yeah $130 is a fine price for that
And there are
ok thanks
i personally would rather just get a Z490-A PRO at that point for not that much more
but if you're on a tight budget sure
I'm sure there is haha, I'm pretty much on a budget here but it's high enough for me to get something like this :)
Nice
i kind of hate the appearance of the b560 steel legend
You’ll have fun with it
pcb is way too busy
Just out of curiosity, what’s your GPU that you’ve chosen out @little osprey ?
i like motherboards with understated pcb designs
this one is probably the worst offender out of modern mobos
got this for my gf and I'm going after it too when my money gets in: https://www.newegg.com/msi-geforce-gtx-1660-gtx-1660-gaming-x-6g/p/N82E16814137401?&quicklink=true
How much did you pay...?
on sale
sorry, typo here
That’s 3.5x MSRP
Mhmm
oh?
even in the current shortage you can get a used 2070 super for that price that's like 70% better
$600 is what you pay for a 2080Ti these days, in a perfect world
you can get a 3060 for that price
no point talking about a world we do not live in

at $600 you're looking at a used 2070 super if you don't want to play the waiting game
otherwise you can find a 3060ti or some 3070s for that price if you keep at it for long enough
that's
hmm, while I know she won't return because she's happy with it (rather keep it that way lol) I would like to learn before I buy a GPU, what to really look at
But not horrible
pretty low for a 2070 super
Manufacturer suggested retail price
some 2070 supers are selling for $700+
I sold my 5700 XT for $700
I can sell it for $400 more than that nowadays
At the time it wasn’t worth as much tho lmao
Wow
It’s only been two months
Crazy stuff
ebay price of 2070 supers is approaching 1k now
r/hardwareswap is the last place to get relatively sane gpu prices
3070 newegg drops rn
wat
SNAP
mb meant available
i much prefer the shuffle system to the drop system
IN STOCK
says out of stock to me
Nani
besides, $810 + tax for a 3070? that's like
I added to cart
competing with scalper prices
Yeah, busted
i spent many months tracking stock drops
done with it
just using newegg shuffle now
much less painful
I'm not doing any of that
1440p, RTX on, DLSS on performance, 51 FPS average in fortnite
Have everything I need now
i'm still trying to get more cards to mine on
she hasn't had the card no more than 2 weeks but I'll talk to her about it, as for me, I would want some help, I'm still pretty new at judging what would be best to buy and not to get scammed
@little osprey i bought gtx 1660s for $200 back when the world was pure
those were the days
geez O.O
they have been as low as $180 before without being on sale
I'm mostly building my PC for Ark survival evolved and Modded minecraft, but I do want to have a good rig for future games I might end up getting into
just forget the idea of buying a new gpu for now
monitor r/hardwareswap for used gpu deals
Offer up and FB marketplace sometimes have decent deals as well
eBay is a lost cause
never seen a good gpu deal on marketplace
definitely outlier and not the rule
ok, so when looking at RTX cards, what does the number at the end mean and how do I know if it's a powerful card, like Rtx 3070 for example?
the higher the number the more powerful, 3060 being lower powered and 3080 being very powerful
*within same generation
*does not hold with mobile
1650 gets stomped by 1080ti
3060 gets stomped by 2080ti
3080 mobile can lose to 3070 mobile
better just use benchmark comparison
ok so when it comes to ti, say 1080 vs 1080ti, the 1080ti is better?
yes
Ok
just use the comparison i linked
you can put most cards
they have cards from the early 2000s on there
Thank you all :)
but not all 3000 series are better than older
like an RTX 3060 is worse than a 2070 Super
tracking stock drops got me there 🙏
ti > super > regular
turned on my pc for the first time with aio, was instantly seeing temps of 90C
took off the block and i could see through the layer of pre applied paste on the cpu and copper block
do you guys think thats the issue?
if you can't see through it, there's too much of it
hm
thermal paste is supposed to be a microscopically thin layer once mounted with any extra squeezing out of the sides
it was like super cracked too
instant 90C points to faulty pump or fans yes
ffs it had better not be
Shouldn't be instantly 90C tho even with a bad pump
Sure it could be
yeah also a possibility
would it be like that if i mounted it too tightly
I mean, it's like an air cooler with no fan running
if you mount it too tightly the standoffs will just snap off
It'll get hot but not right away or immediately
speaking from experience
oh
Might have used the wrong standoffs
bc i was worried i did it too tightly
i snapped a standoff on an aio before
An AIO that clips on?
that hook onto the standard like thing
What AIO is this?
if both clips are in then it isn't a mounting pressure issue
pretty hard to get an improper mount with the clip system
hm
probably just faulty unit
Well, there are tightening screws too
No swore
Yo
let's not avoid the filter that is there for a reason
oh sry
Where did you have the AIO pump plugged into?
theres no pump cable
it just has one thing that goes into cpu fan
and another that goes into the commander core
that is the pump cable
No
oh kk
no, a pump cable is perfectly fine on cpu fan header
i dont feel like turning it back on if its gonna be 90C aa
will it be ok if its just for a minute
won't damage anything
if it's 90C in the BIOS
ok..
you can run it at 90C forever
Then the mount is bad
Check BIOS
I am back to fix my problem!
Thanks @muted patio for your help - the tempature is between 33-40 degrees Celsius.
Lol dw about it, it's not too important. People still refer to entire desktop computers as "CPU", especially in a less IT inclined business setting. Just a little confusing to people who swear by "proper" terminology.
Well, you have another problem now tho
I'm reading the file you sent
yeah
hwmonitor is bad
they were loud af too
use hwinfo
Need to go into BIOS and check where the pump header is plugged into
so prolly 100% speed
i have seen hwmonitor report a ryzen 7 2700x running at 4.3 million C
derive your own conclusion from that
And I need to update the Bios Driver. I remember that you said that yesterday.
have also seen it report fans running in excess of 2 million rpm
Imagine the cooling perf lmao
You've already updated the BIOS, we were talking about motherboard drivers
aka the fan motor instantly vaporizes
I saw one board reporting 0v to the CPU
let me read through that text file, hang on
Imagine if it actually could do that tho
hwmonitor makes my cpu more efficient than hwinfo! takes 0v! unlimited thermal/power headroom
Would be lit as hell
plugging in stuff
i also saw it report something like 9 ghz on an fx 8320
gonna go into bios
Just rmeember which header you plugged the pump feedback into
Wasn’t one 8320 able to actually able to hit that at one point?
9ghz @ 0v running 4.3 million C despite cpu fan running at 2 million rpm
I'd recommend CPU_FAN header
thanks hwmonitor
i plugged it into cpu_fan
perfect
When you get into the BIOS, see if the CPU FAN is reading an RPM
ok
That’s close. Wonder how it would hold up against a modern Ryzen CPU
it would lose
Do I need to open up in bios to install the driver?
fans are at 100% tho
NO, just hang on lo, still reading that file
granted this is not xoc but the clock speed is not gonna bridge that gap
CPU_FAN is N/A
FX had awful IPC even when it was new
Are you sure you have it on the right pins?
i think so
IE lined up properly?
Let me check connections on the commander pro also
you'd have to break off the plastic to be able to line up cpu fan incorrectly
FX as a generation was kinda a failure imo
Generations
Yeah, please answer
fx being a failure is not an opinion
was up to 53 just now
it almost bankrupted amd
Right, when your absolute best processor does worse than the middle processor of your competitor, you've failed
Please take a picture and post it of the connections on the Commander Core
only the aio fans are plugged into the commander core
UNless they forgot the sata power
On the commander core
temp steadily rising in bios with no reading
sata power is in
Sure, return it but we should check all the things, or not.
Not long
i mean i still have my stock cooler i can use ig
2 minutes?
Commander Pro pic please
ah
yeees
let's check your cables
ill stop tlaking
just use the stock cooler while you wait then
they wouldn't bundle the stock cooler if it didn't work
Do I have to buy a splitter for my cpu cooler to light up?
did you plug in the rgb? lol
rgb is not automatically powered by a fan cable
I think my rgb one is taken 😔
then get a splitter
@muted patio
how much are those 😔😔😔
like $5
Oh that’s not too bad lol
they get bundled for free with most cases/coolers that have multiple rgb fans
not that expensive to make a cable
@muted patio You seem pretty busy. Super excited to learn what that issues is with the black screen in and outs.
just make sure you buy the right kind between 12v 4pin and 5v 3pin
also don't overload a single header too much, don't want to connect more than 4 things to one
exact number depends on what exactly you're plugging in (amperage limit) but 4 is a good rule of thumb
i've got 2 headers powering 8 fans and a water block lol
I was hoping that the header that says amd light would be able to power it but I guess not :c
well is it the right type of header
@muted patio updated the motherboard driver. Still glitching.
It's a 4 pin but I tried it and didn't work so I think i'll just have to buy a spliter
did you plug it in the right way
line up the arrow on the plug to the 12V line on the pins
pin side generally marks the 12V line with "12V" or an arrow
every rgb plug i've ever seen has an arrow corresponding to the voltage pin
it won't work if you send the voltage down the wrong pin, won't cause permanent damage though
rgb connectors are dumb, they should really have a retention clip like fans that also only allow you to plug them in the correct way
oh what i would give for rgb connectors to have retention clips
corsair uses some
yeah but then you're stuck in their proprietary system using their bloatware software and paying $200 for fans
would rather go blackout build than corsair
funny thing is the connectors themselves aren't even proprietary
just a standard no one else uses
effectively proprietary
you can get adapters!
lolol
imagine if corsair made gpus powered by floppy
sounds like something corsair would do
rgb connectivity weirdness is probably the main reason I'm kinda glad I went corsair
lol
i paid $3 each for my argb fans from id-cooling
very high quality fans
using standard connectors
dang, got a link?
it was a pricing error 😛

lol
still solid fans for the intended price though
$35 for a 3 pack that includes controller and 1-4 splitter
yeah that's real nice
very quiet pwm fans
i can sleep next to 5 of them running at 80%
provides ample airflow for the questionable gpu setup i have in my case
truly a miracle that neither overheats
what do you have?
huh
i've played with two of those before
neither were loud
managed to push one to almost 2.2ghz
Can someone help me with my cpu temps
be more specific
what cpu what cooler
it could be the angle of the picture, but that sata power cable doesn't look plugged in all the way
Corsair capellix 360 mm
i mean
that would be a fan issue
Ryzen 9 5900x
and the fans are spinning
does the pump give an rpm reading
clearly not if you're asking for help for it
just answer the questions
what rpm is it reading
have you ensured that it's actually idle
no background processes?
having icue open is notorious for not allowing your cpu to idle properly
anti-virus scans and update scans are also background loads that can start without warning
Yeah I closed everything but it’s idles at 70
what is the temperature in bios
welp guess im returning my aio...
leave it running for a minute see if it warms up at all
what is the temperature in your room?
are you overclocking at a constant vcore?
What does that mean
so no
It actually went to 38c
yeah
In bios tho
i would say your cooler is fine, something is happening in the background of windows that causes idle temp to go up
whether it's icue or a background scan or something else
i run a much lower powered cpu (ryzen 5 3600x) under a 360mm aio and observe temp spikes as high as 61C at "idle"
ryzen idle temps are very spiky
go back into windows and run a stress test and see if your temps are higher than normal
nope
kk
im gonna return it tomorrow
they have a few in stock at my local store so
ill just get another one
thanks for the help
no problem, good luck
Is cyberpunk still full of bugs
yes
F
Expect CDPR to fix the bugs in about the amount of time it took Bethesda to fix Skyrim
Skyrim's been out for what, 10 years, still got enough bugs for everyone
It just works ™️
They just want to share the bugs
So did my ex
Oooo
Oml lmao
OOoooo i found this gem

First file an LLC
yeah I heard about all that
deduct the entire mining rig cost as a business expense
buy 30 series cards
Mine until ROI is gone
scalp
and repeat the process up to the deducting
To make a long story short i bought a cpu block off hw swap and i was just trying to mount my block when i realized my thumbnuts wont mount on the posts am i doing something wrong?
What cpu block and what mobo?
Asus z490E ek quantum velocity and a 10900kf cpu
Ive tried all the posts even without the springs and they dont thread except one set but that set is too large for the mounting plate
They thread into the motherboard fine but the caps wont thread at all
Im about to just report the guy order one new and move on im kinda pissed
Im just going to buy a replacement and paypal chargeback. Cant be bothered and i should be able to get a replacement shipped pretty quickly.
Can i at least test the rgb of my replacement mounting plate by only plugging in the 24pin motherboard cable or something and leaving the cpu power unplugged?
Yeah im pretty sure you can
Tried it... unfortunately the rgb headers dont recieve power but was cool to see the mobo light up i suppose... im conflicted on if i should order a whole new block or if i should get just the mounting hardware replacement parts and try and make this one work.
I think it'd be better off just getting a new block
How’s that 1080 holding up?
Hi! Are the x570 boards compatible with 5000 series CPUs (5950x) right off the bat? Or do I have to update the bios using an old gen processor
some are, some arent
these days its about a 75% chance that it will be
if not, get a Zen2 CPU or flashback the BIOS in the case of something like the Asus TUF X570 PRO
How about for x570 xtreme?
same thing altho I dont believe that board has flashback capabilities
why that board specifically?
I like it’s passive cooling thingy plus I like its aesthetics even though its a bit overkill.
Problem is that I recently switched to AMD from intel so i dont have an old gen processor.
Apparently not. So my best course of action is to bring it to the nearest PC store right?
Or do I have to try it first and see if it works?
try it first
if it posts: yay
if not:
flashback if the board has the capability, or get a Zen2 CPU
or nearest Micro Center
You really need to check board specs
Cuz it has FlashBack
-_-
Okay. Got it!
Check first before saying you need another CPU to update
annoying engine
I did say 'or flashback if the board has it'
like I also said
trying to do something in Unity
been at it for hours
very time consuming
and annoying
Thanks to the both of you btw!
Your board has FlashBack. Download the BIOS file onto a flash drive and just update it before you install the CPU
if needed
That way it's guaranteed to work before you put it all together
Okay sure! Thanks for that tip
Is it worth fixing a pin on a 5900x if it came in the mail damaged or should i just refund Sadge
rma
Return it time then
What cpu should I pair with a GTX 1650
This is for a friend's pc
Just for gaming nothing else
an i3 10100
Would a ryzen 3 3100 be like the same
i5 10400 is best for budget rn
Wait did Intel already release 11400
not yet
Pre Order
Pre order probs
Nvm it's out of stock lol
Button says Pre Order
Yea mb
yea its def a pre order
Hello I have problems.|
I build my son's new PC and though it works it glitches everytime Minecraft is open or running.
Only Minecraft
could you be more specific? what happens when you try to open the game?
Ryzen 5600 Processor
ASRock 4500 HDV MB (I updated driver)
GeForce GTX 1050 Ti on GP107-A GPU (I updated driver)
16GB RAM
Here is the error message I get when it crashed:
When Minecraft is open the entire screen will go blank (but game play goes on!) every 90 seconds are so. The screen goes blank for about 1.5 seconds.
What processor exactly? Your error code is reading 12 core 12 thread for some reason
5600x is a 6 core 12 thread
When I open Minecraft it takes some time to get started but works for awhile then flashes and then works again. If I have Minecraft and MSI Afterburner open at the same time I see crashes.\
check your cable
Are you over clocking anything?
if you've already tried restarting, make sure your hdmi cables are snug in your monitor
I have had issues with sea of thieves crashing with even 100mhz overclock on gpu
I am running a video cord - should I switch to HDMI?
Can a monitor that runs Nvidia geforce run integrated graphics from intel on a cpu chip?
What monitor? Most monitors with nvidia is g-sync which works for nvidia gpu not intergrated
If you have an intergrated gpu on your mobo or cpu then I’ll plug hdmi into your motherboard
Dell Monitor
@brittle tinsel it’s an ASUS VG259QMY
I don’t see anything about nvidia GeForce with the monitor, do you have a link to the retailer you got it from or even the retailer name
Actually. I got everything from Amazon. It's a DELL
Yeah, that just syncs your screen refresh rate with your gpu so you don’t have to do it in game. Do you have a nvidia graphics card or intergrated
Oh it has Free sync it says
Ok, so for gaming intergrated wouldn’t work anyway but yeah you could use it to start installing apps and games no more problem
Okay that’s what I was looking for
Thank you
I’m just waiting til my gpu comes in. I could switch the HDMI cable to the gpu when it’s later installed right?
Yup,
Unless the gpu is dead or some compatibility issues come up then it may not display
How hard would painting this white be?
I had mine gpu get here and didn’t display, I unplugged it, took it out and put it back in (listening for the click sound) then it worked
painting a heatspreader?
They don’t sell those in white?
Yep
I mean unless you use a specific type of paint its not gonna be doing a lotta heatspreading
but then im pretty sure its not very necessary
it'll be kinda hard
they do iirc
Anyone know what I should do next?
That’s what I thought, @full atlas why not just by the white ones
yea
Painting heat spreaders arent that hard but it'll be difficult
if its a white build black ram wont necessarily look bad
Honestly bro, I have no idea, I’ve done my fair share or scripting and such but never JavaScript, only thing I could find in that error code is that it’s reading your 6 core 12 thread cpu as 12 core 12 thread (1 thread per core)
I don’t want to go out and buy ram rn
Order online?
I don’t even know what type of paint it would be so that it spreads heat
yea
black ram wont look bad
in a white build
@full atlas
It will be there Tuesday if you have prime,
You would probably have to go out and buy paint lol
Okay... I did a screen record (On GeoForce) and it doesn't show the blank screen flashes. The flashes just show when I am actually using it.
If you were me. What would you try?
Not sure what overclocking means. Obviously, I am new to this. We built two other PCs without these issues. I wonder if the issue is the processor being too fast for the motherboard.
yep you can
I already have some
but can i use dvi for a 144 hz monitos
yep dvi max is 144hz
Yes
Hdmi is 144 I believe
Display is up to like 360
I don’t think that would be an issue, you said you had msi afterburner on, and normally that’s used to overclock (push your parts past the normal performance)
im not gonna use 4k
Isn’t there dp 1.4
I would update Java, reinstalled Minecraft, make sure graphics drivers and windows are up to date and make sure nothing is being overclocked in afterburner
If it’s screen blanks, it could be graphics card, the software, monitor, cable, drivers, and like lastly mobo/cpu
There are 1.4 they just offer up to 1440p 240hz
1080p 360hz tho right
I know there’s monitors that are 360hz so o assume it’s dp
Dp 1.2 is 144hz for 1080-1440p
Dp 1.4 is 240hz for 1080-1440p
360 hz monitors are new so I’d assume at some point cables will be able to handle that, but no need really what system can handle modern day games past 300
Minecraft 600 FPS be like
someone probably answered me already but a 10700f is better than the 10600k right
depends on what you want
if you just want for game and wanna get into overclocking, 10600kf
10700f if you want more cores and about the same experience in game, but no overclocc
They're meant for esports like valorant and csgo
Personally I don’t think valorant is AAA, it’s a good game but not demanding like warzone and games like it
Tarkov may or may not be AAA not too sure but it takes a lot of resources
He said valorant is a esports title lol
Not AAA
Yeah but when I was referring to modern games don’t get more than 200fps I was referring to aaa
4K 120
do they deliver the same bandwith?
Way better than 4K 30
if they do then it should work with 4k144
isn't it just a subgenre?
1.2 is almost 2 gig i think and 1.4 is almost 10 gig
AAA just means the game has a really high budget, normally associated with well known publisher’s
i was refering to esport titles
Can’t help ya there, don’t keep up with that, I only know about AAA meaning because of my classes
uh? well ok
but esport is more of a genre though but well, i guess i should scroll up a bit more
lmao i've never understood what factors make a game fit into the different genres of game
if game games well on my game computer, then i'm satisfied
Well I was referring to esports in the sense that it’s easy to run, and the titles easiest to run are often games used in esports, titles like cs:go, valorant, rocket league, and league of legends.
Triple A games are often games with very high production budgets and are often some of the harder to run games, such as doom eternal, the Witcher 3, cyberpunk 2077, fallout 76
ahh, is there such thing as double a games and single a games?
i known about that, i just got a little confused up there
No I dont think so
Not that I know of
Single a games is probably low budget indie
makes sense
there is only AAA and indie games as far i am aware.
Double a is probably indie with a higher budget
no shuffle today? 😦
I don’t think so 😦
i see
so would gtaV be considered a AAA game or no?
why not?
def a triple a
gta V is a game of huge budgets and marketing
i get it now, thanks
rockstar made it sooo
Yes it has a high budget
rockstar is pretty big
It’s not the hardest game to run though
true
it came in 2013 so...
That’s also true
it went by three generations of play stations lmao
It’s described kind of like the Witcher 3 as an a older triple a title
indie games are mostly described as game with few personal, marketing and money aswell
AA games are like Life is Strange
A games are mostly indie titles
depends on the budget rly
Yeah games like forza while not that hard to run are AAA
Forza gets extremely resource intensive as you switch to higher and higher presets
Like a 3090 gives only 120 fps on everything cranked
Really? I didnt know
Wait in 4K?
Right
Guys i opened up my pc and there's a kinda weird whirr sound should i be worried?

hm
oiling fan can solve fan noise 🤔
Hey guys, I need some help. My kid has a school project and he wants to build a digital picture frame. The issue is that it has to be small and cheap, under 20 for the whole project. Any advice
Whats a digital picture frame?
like what exactly needs to be done?
it is a digitalizer with a circuit board that allows you to load pictures on that you can set on your desk or hang on a wall. IT is either battery or corded power.
Any advice? I can find the digitalizer easy enough but i am completely blank on the board. No idea on what to get
Thank you
Yes that is what he wants to build. But he wants it to be small enough to fit in his locker. I have found the digitalizers at 5 inches which is perfect, cheap too. But the boards are killing me. I don't even know where to start.
i don't think this kind of project is possible for under $20
I am familiar with the Raspberry. it is a bit pricey
The one I linked is 11$
very basic but has all the things you might need
It came up as 18.47 when I clicked on the link
but 11 would be perfect. The Raspberry that came up was the Pi Zero. Is that the one that you sent
No worries. This is a HUGE help.
Do you have any experience with the software side?
and most likely a usb hub to set it up
the digitizer would need to be hdmi capable as well
i got a free pi zero and sd card from microcenter and still had to spend almost $20 to get it running
and i had a mini hdmi to hdmi cable on hand already
Thats true
@earnest olive was the additional money to make it work? Or once it was working it was no longer needed?
power supply and storage are pretty necessary components..
lol a fair point.
gonna need to up the budget for a project like this
So since I am not thinking of everything it looks like I need the following
and if its gonna be in his locker a battery pack is necessary as well
A storage device (SD Card)
HDMI cable
Digitalizer
Raspberry 0
yup
if he plans on keeping it in his locker you will need a battery pack as well
Okay, this is good. Let me see what I can figure out. Thanks. Guys.
might be doable on $40-50
yeah
No problem best of luck to you!
Does anyone know if 5950x is better than 11 gen intel for gaming
do you need 16 cores
I mean
I am trying to have a pc for gaming and streaming
And I want to know if 5940x is better
5950
X
well I mean if you need 16 cores 5950x is the only option besides 3950x
But what’s the best cpu for gaming
Do I know
U know
11 gen
5950x
5900x
From those
uh...
5900x is 12c 24t
11th gen core limit is 8
kinda unfair to compare it to the 5900x & 5950x
So 5950x is the best for gaming
no cores dont matter
So than what does???
well they do but once you go above 6 little games will need that
So cores don’t matter when gaming
they do
but when going above 6-8 cores, it's kinda eh...
Wait so does anyone know this
Is intel 11 gen going to be best for gaming
Over amd
it doesnt matter much tbh
we have benches for 11700k, not 11900k
I see
Although 11700k according to gamers nexus sometimes preforms worse than 10700k so i wouldn't be to hopeful
do i need this to get replaced it came like this,
did u get warranty?
like the all state one?
ye
rma it bruh
rip
