i hate iphone
@feral bobcat I have one so, it's not crazy good, but it's definitely pretty nice for the price.
but using imac
you dont need a dongle with ur40s, it jus helps since the dongle tends to have a better dac than onboard option
(also phones like my pixel 4 without a jack)
i would jus buy ur40s alone to begin with, if you like them then invest in the k5 pro and some more expensive cans
thank you all
np
guys what review site is unbiased
none
my case finally delivered
:P
of course hardware
Audio reviewers are all biased in some way since it's preference
and a lot of reviewers tell you to buy everything
and there's stuff like I believe it was audio science? That really disliked schiit as a company
like very few audio reviewers say dont buy this
etc
for 250 and lower
pretty much its 6xx for mids, details and treble
@feral bobcat unless you mean computer hardware reviewers? Those are different, but audio reviews are to be taking with a grain of salt
what about gsm arena
the best audio reviewers present measurement data with the tone of "this is what the product is/does, if this is what you prefer, go for it"
do you trust it for phones
4xx nice overall (same with 400i)
who
dt880s are the only beyers worth buying in that price range if you can stand the treble
k371/61 are the best close back options under 200
and cal, ur40s and porta pros for sub 50 price range
Audio is entirely subjective rather than objective performance. NO one will be unbiased since everyone likes a different kind of sound.
beyerdynamic is known for aggressive treble
some ppl put a piece of tissue or fabric in the inner cups to help with it
overhyped
akg k371 should be nice
after the pandemic passes, I wonder if there's anywhere I could go to test a bunch of headphones so I know what I actually like/want :P
akg?
Yea
part of harman kardon samsung
currently keeping my eye on the diy market because I want to build a mini itx server/decent gaming rig (980ti if mine survive), but that probably wont be until AM5.
anyone have any advice for itx builds, in general?
As the market currently stands, I'm looking at getting the H1 once its riser gets properly fixed.
I'm also thinking of going air cooling (since I'm lazy) and getting some small Noctua cooler (since I'm also a Noctua stan).
I'm not interested in going nuts for the build, but I'm accustomed to good performance.
h1 is a bit on the larger side
building ina nr200 rn
I'll check it out but im not looking to go suuuper small. I'd like some room to work
i had 2 cooler master cpu cooler & both of them was terrible
Pre-order on newegg.com Meshlicious is a combination of MESH and Delicious. There’s so much mesh that your mouth will water. Breathable, mesh panels lets you savor the airflow and minty temps. Mesh panels and well ventilated 14.6 liters in size Support for regular size hardware Easy to assemble in 6 easy steps The upgr
And yea, Noctua L9i fits in every god damn itx case, and then you can fit up to like a u12s in a nr200 I believe
get that case
their psu too
that case is the new standard for itx thermals
Oh yea the meshilicious is going to be out in a bit
i dont know about their cases
cm is on par with phanteks but a bit behind imo
I care more about thermals and aesthetics than size, that said if there is a case that rides that line better than the H1, I'm happy to hear about it
case wise
that case has mesh panels on pretty much all sides
what about thermaltake core p5 tg v2
thermals on it will be no problem, in fact some reviewers already have it
ill take a pic of my nr200 once i get my motherboard in it
why
yoooo that's nice
thermal wise its the best rn
it gets beat by milk crate
love the mesh everywhere concept tho
opens are very easy to build in future components
only
yea, personally I like more controlled airflow too
open cases are so dumb
but mesh everywhere in terms of top rear front bot is what I want
Open = dust
that's all I have to say
open cases are best for rgb
nah
open cases suck for rgb imo
& for water cooling
I love say front of a TD500 mesh, that rgb is great
water cooling on open depends
mounting seems lacking
doesn't p500a fit 420 front 360 top?
yeah opens are just dumb 99% of the time
And it looks dope af? bro you spoil me
open cases are open: you can do anything you want
lmao
@feral bobcat my opinion is if you want a open case, don't have a case >:P
if u want an open case just use a test bench
at least that doesnt make you look as stupid
rackmount chassis>>>>>>>>>>>>
how much is the td500 again ?
i forgot
100$
I always preach td500 mesh :P
thats my new go to recommendation for builds now
have you seen the 215
pretty epic
imo, MX410-mesh-g rgb for low end, td500 mesh mid, p500a high
my response @mortal garnet
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16811553059
lancool 215 was really good on paper for me, but then the price is off for me
if it's 60$, I'd recommend it
@earnest olive I'm not surprised by any of it after ryo sold his vii for 1600$
@turbid blade
gpu prices
i mean
radeon vii is a better mining card than 3080
and 3080s are selling for that much on ebay
upside down oops
it's less ridiculous than a 1650 for $600
r7 is like bad every other way tho lol
:P
yeah but the people buying them are buying them to mine
dunno, 2 year old 700$ msrp card selling for more than 2x MSRP is a yikes in my book
im just happy somebody bought my 1070ti for 450 lol free upgrade
O_O
lol
What am I looking at? Is the mobo mounted to the floor of the case?
Yes
i sold my 1080ti for 500, bought a 1060 for 125, sold it for 175, bought a 3080 for 770, have mined $250 with it so far
do you know any case like that
well, side of the case
nr200
with all the panels off and mobo installed
@mortal garnet tbh I know it's big in specs, but it was bigger than I thought lel
so i have currently profitted $30 off of upgrading my 1080ti to a 3080
dude i laughed so hard
nr200 wise
yea i was expecting smaller
i was gonna say "ill sell u a 1080 for 1200 since it's twice as good"
but part compatibility with it is op
but i was scared hed actually buy it
lili
yes
@mortal garnet nooooooooo the nr200 is just 2mm too small for the nhd15. so close, yet so far.
not that i would need/get an nhd15 for itx lmao
@earnest olive do you know how to choose psu extension cables?
im thinking of going with the meshlicious because I like the aesthetics and size better; tho, im a bit worried about air cooler clearance and gpu fan suffocation, particularly because I would probably deshroud any gpu I put in and ziptie noctuas to it instead
I'm running an ek aio on my build
optimum tech has a nice review on the meshlicious
Bruh its company is a daughter company of lianli?? What's with lianli's cases, they've been so on-point lately
yeah its a daughter company
yo @mortal garnet the equalizer thing is just making me restart my pc
its not actually downloading
on either of my drives
It's not a program tho
It won't really show anything after you install
When the system has rebooted, the APO should be active. This will only be noticable by a small reduction in volume and a mild low frequency boost, because this is what the example configuration file specifies.
I think the mesh panels on the meshlicious would be identical right? That would make machining so much easier for them. If that's true, then id rather install an AIO, turn the PSU around and and put the TG panel on the CPU side since it'll be prettier than a deshrouded 980ti
ahh i see
question which are the better fans, QL120 or LL120?
ll has slightly higher airflow
i think ql look better imo
Yo is offerup safe
alright thank you
ql if you are getting an o11
yeah me too but i think LL120 looks good aswell
otherwise not worth it imo
is the rgb on QL brighter and better than the LL?
alright well thank you so much
the ql does look pretty nice so i think ill be getting that, but if i couldnt ill get the LL which is still good
“Not working”
lol
Reason: Bad word usage

lol its pg13 filter here
2021 Q1 is just that bad for the hardware industry
I got an old EVGA 1050 I need to sell, and fast cause of pascal being brought back into production
really? I thought they'd actually started producing them again
better for me ig if it is a rumor
Just a rumor
I mean, even if they DID start it back up again, most likely they would only be sold to OEM's for inclusion into cheap prebuilts.
Is $250 good for a 1070 FE
Yea
Alright
if u don’t mind spending 100 more 3060 is gonna come out
yeah, tbh I don't even want to try to grab a better GPU rn, better off trying to hunt down a 5900x, the GPUs are just far worse rn
but I totally need to sell my old 1050 while the listing prices are higher
The whole market for gpu’s is literally 🐕 💩
yeah
I have a feeling it’s gonna stay like that for atleast another season
that's why I'm just gonna take my radeon XFX 580 from my old build and slap it in my new build and eventually replace it with a 3080
Also if the seller on eBay has no reviews should I avoid buying from them
What cpu and ram are u using for your new build ?
I’m building similar so I’m curious
I got 32 GB 3200 CL16 gskill ram last week, and I'm trying to grab a 5900x
That’s gonna be a monster
got all my components earlier today, except for the case and of course the annoying to get 5900x
yea
especially once I get a 3080 in it but that'll prob be 2021 Q2-Q3
for now my old 580 does a good job
Yup
i put 3200c16 in builds that cost $300 total
Yeah I cheaped out a bit on it
I’m trying to buy any of the new 3000s gpu’s but I want fe edition and it’s never In stock
shoulda gotten 3600 but 3200 was just on sale sooooo. Should be fine with 3200
ay can you help me pick psu extension cables?
running my i5 on 2133 8x2 ram so
true
There's a difference lol
I’m pretty sure that motherboard can only run 2666 MHz ram
still 3200 should do me fine.
Hey is this the right way for the cpu cooler fan
Right. But 3200 is often cheaper or the same price as 2666
mhm
It’s more than enough
Plujs if you downclock, you can tighten the timings
for a 5900x its pretty much moderate
Not for Ryzen. Ryzen thrives on bandwidth
Difference between 3200 and 3600 is 5-15 FPS depending on the game
Should be more with 4000
Yeah, but regardless it won't bottleneck me too badly in most cases so I kinda just settled for 3200 lol
Can I have 16gb of ram can I get another 16 from a different brand and have it work ???
My monitors are also only 60hz so
I would sell ur 580 for a monitor
well then I wouldn't have a dedicated graphics card lol
Well when u get 3080 I mean
@sacred magnet naw it does 3600
even bottom of the barrel b450 mobos will usually do 3600 if the cpu can
4200mhz ram 👀
it is the intel way
they'll fix themselves eventually. like any company, it will just take 5-10 years
at which time, competitors will be in need of fixing once more
companies frequently go through phases of learning and unlearning
has any one heard/used this AIO ? DEEPCOOL Gamer Storm CAPTAIN 360X WHITE, RGB AIO Liquid CPU Cooler, White LED Waterblock, 360mm Radiator, Anti-Leak Technology Inside, 12V RGB 4-Pin Motherboard Control, TR4/AM4 Compatible
trying to save some cash but i dont think thats going to happen , ive been looking at the LIAN LI GALAHAD AIO 360 and the EVGA CLC 360 400-HY-CL36-V1
Mixed brands often will work (not 100% of the time) as long as they're the same speed and timings
probably better to just go with one brand unless you know two will work together
But how would you know without trying it 🤔
Get the galahad. Evga clc has crappy stock fans.
Anyone else seeing alot of these ryzen 5000 have high failure rates. Is it something to worry about
Ek aio and freezer ii are the other 2 options, all top tier performance (above clc, unless you want a jet engine next to your ears)
na im good on having an air port in my office
If looks are not important, Freezer ii usually offers the best performance for a very good price.
Ek aio and galahad are options for when rgb is 'necessary' or when freezer is out of stock
(out of your options, galahad, but if you're in a position where Freezer ii is at a lower price than galahad, go Freezer ii)
look at the specs now
I'd point you towards testing if possible for the performance.
GN is a good source:
https://youtu.be/2FTtBHKMOAM
Lian Li has a new Galahad AIO in 360 and 240 sizes to compete in the CPU cooler market for liquid cooling, matched against Arctic's Liquid Freezer II, EK's AIO, NZXT's Kraken series, and more.
Sponsor: EVGA XR1 Capture Card on Amazon (https://geni.us/3IMrqPi)
The Lian Li Galahad 360 & 240 liquid coolers took years to release, and now we're revi...
ya ive seen this guy
Galahad review includes freezer ii numbers, and linked it because galahad came after freezer ii. If you're curious about the quality, defer to the org freezer ii review.
And do note, I believe Arctic is now shipping with new mounting (as explained in the recent Arctic freezer ii 420mm review), so the criticism he had about "needing 3 hands" to mount it may be out of date.
ya the dual mounts dont work as well as the quad mounts
The original 'issue' was that the back plate isn't secured when you install it, so it would move around, and you needed someone, or something else to hold it down while you screw it in
For 360mm? What about galahad?
Are you in the US?
Ah, freezer ii went out of stock at the original price
so get the artic 2 ?
Also, I believe freezer ii 360mm is 150$ on Amazon with free shipping
im stuck between the 2 atm
And at this point, it's about if white aesthetics is worth 10$ to you
If you're not going for a white build or don't care, I'd buy the freezer ii
the case i have is the asus tuf GT501 White Edition
ok so i put the 2 together
I'd say galahad if newegg is the only option, I don't like 3rd party sellers no matter what
not sure what 0.3 stone is for db
Just ignore those specs
Not comparable
Different manufacturers have different testing methodology
I saw one rumor about failure rates in the 5950X but it's unconfirmed. Other chips are fine.
That's mostly DOA rates from what I saw too, and I'm sure half of that is user error or insufficient cooling
Is the vision e320 b0 compatible with this monitor mount https://www.amazon.com/HUANUO-Monitor-Computer-Adjustable-Rotation/dp/B07X127QTL??
Probably, monitor says 100x100 mount which is one of the possible configs for that mount
So yes?
Yes
Ok thanks
Reason: Bad word usage
Could someone recommend some ram that is under 42mm
And below 80 bucks
Its for an intel build
What capacity do you need? 16 GB?
yes
What do u guys think of my parts list
make pcpp
Thats not helpful
use this and put it together up there
easier
update, I found some
also that crucial m.2 isnt specified which model
they have many models
I found some too lol
Those are the ones I had
if my pc boots it means i dont needa flash bios right
Not necessarily, a BIOS update will usually increase stability and give new features
yea im aware, jus curious bc apparently b550 doesnt support new ryzen out of the box
but i jus turned on my pc for like 10 sec to see if itll boot or not
since it did that means im good right
What board do you have and what BIOS version?
b550i aorus ax or some
does it have bios flashback
and i didnt get to run setup, i jus wanted to see if i would get anything to display while plugging it in
yea it supports it
but in order to flash im p sure i have to uninstall cpu ram etc
yeah
It can usually flash without uninstalling, but uninstalling stuff is good since it doesn't like to do so sometimes
so basically i jus plugged in my and turned it on for like 10 sec since i hve no cooler installed
and it told me to choose boot drive or some
i have a usb with windows on it so ill do that later
but that means im good to go right
If it has BIOS version F13a you're good, that's the latest.
ye
can you launch bios without having os installed ?
@velvet isle https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GKbPLP this is the list he sent me
I just got my Asus tuf gaming x570 pro today and I still need to check what bios version it has although I'll probably do that once I actually get my CPU lol
first of all you should switch the ssd
Don't run it without a cooler, even in BIOS
the p2 is garbage
hey all, want to build a pc any tips or can someone help me budget?
where's the gpu
even if its less than a minute or so
@slate dock mess around on https://pcpartpicker.com/list/
$1k?
1.5k
@ripe wedge I assume they have GPU or have some kind of plans for GPU?
oh yeah 3060ti
ok i got the LL 360mm rad
It probably won't pass POST without a cooler plugged in, it'll just throw a fan error
they forgot to add it to the list
galahad nice
thanks for the help guys 🙂
it will be here in 3 days !! CHEERS
:)
nice
I just got my corsair h150i elite today along with my mobo and PSU
almost set for my second build, just need to wait for the case to come in stock then keep hunting down that 5900x
lol
and it should not have 5 stars
if you can find a rx 6800 let me know lol
lol
impossible
im know 😦
id be happy with a 57xt at this point
whats wrong with the gigabite pcu ?
^
well i guess its a good time to say thats the one i have
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jb6W7X @velvet isle still well within your budget of $1500. if you wanted to spend more you could get a better cpu like a 5600x
and it has japanese caps
I still have mine in the plastic lol
gonna sell it
or wait on recall
thats the aio he chose
and I changed the case to the airflow version of the one he chose
and idk maybe he wanted that aio badly
once he comes back maybe he can explain why he chose it
also didnt change it to something else because I dont know corsair aios that well
3060ti x AMD 5600x = Good match or nAh¿
sounds good yeah, 5600x are in stock on amazon rn for near MSRP so grab em
This would have more rgb than the last build :P
oh yeah that looks better but I left most of the corsair stuff cuz assumed he was a corsair fanboy
@ripe wedge then convert them from being a Corsair fanboy, Corsair in general is bad, mediocre at best >:P
well I think imma install my 2tb m.2 now... gotta be very careful with my $1k+ gpu lol
good luck lol
I ordered a build about a week ago including both but then randomly had doubts recently
But I think it’s fine so nvm
ima need to get a 1tb m.2 soon after I upgrade my build
cause uh my HDD and SSD combined only have ~50 GB left
so
What’s your total capacity rn
not good™️
O hecc
oh boy it's only 45 GB after I installed 3Ds max 2020
but I uninstalled 3Ds max 2019-
death
and don't ask why I have a lower capacity HDD and a higher capacity SSD instead of the other way around, it was my first build okay
I don't even remember at this point
as long as it was under $10 ur fine
What does the little windows icon on one of the storage icons mean; like why’s it only on one
this was like 3-4 years ago okay
it means windows is installed to that drive
Ah ic
👀
buy 3090 sell scalped use money to buy whatever gpu
profit
no resellers bad
If I pasted the entire spec for a build and asked for thoughts would I get slammed for “flooding” or something
reselling good
no
yes because you can use pcpartpicker like everyone else in this server
I used PCSpecialist oops
Yuh I’ll redo the build on there tomorrow instead
^^
Specialist aint got no links 😔
pcpartpicker master race
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2NvZPV would anyone have suggestions on my pc parts list? its for gaming the GPU is a rtx 3070 btw
Change the SSD
Prob change PSU too
You can get 32 gigs for that
SSD to at least mp34, optimally p31
PSU I'd spend more and get an amp 650w personally
B5 isn't bad, just very mediocre
Amp 650 is pog
At the same price:
Is an MSI B460M Torpedo + i5 10600k a better buy than a B450M Bazooka + Ryzen 5 3600?
yeah 10600k better imo
I cant remember. is it GPT the one I should use or MBR
mr1 i have a question... so ive heard you cant just get any replacement cable for your psu to make them look better or you can fry pc, but does that extend to extensions? wanted to get some asiahorse psu extensions and are any of those okay to get?
GPT for modern systems, MBR for compatibility with old stuff
few things
that cpu cooler is not needed at all
gammax 400 will work fine
its 25 bucks
def could get cheaper mobo
get a better ssd if you can, mp34, p31, sn750, 970 evo
that ssd is poo
sn750 one I had before was better
you will regret spending $5 less for a poopy ssd
I dont want intel
Then if i want to upgrade, i will have to buy new mobo
what ram would you recommend?
crucial ballistix good
ripjaws 5 good
130 is mega expensive for 16 gigs
ig it has rgb and stuf
I would not get the corsair pro rgb
im not its to expensive for the 3600mhz
What aio would you reccomend
air cooling
way better value
im on a 30 dollar air cooler and overclocked a bit
super low temps considering
Air cooling is ugly af
yes thats the game im upgrading for lmao
pog
Is it bad
I dont want my pc to look like a child barfed in it
ultra settings look rly nice on msfs
thats only 1080p aswell
its almost as good as real life tbh
what fps do you get on ultra?
well thats to be expected tbh
but i hardly fly in cities so not worth upgrading ram
im all of it
thats my dream job to be a pilot
i wanted to join the airforce but im to tall for jets 😦 lol
lol
my dad owns a plane so im going to get free flight lessons other than gas lol
yeah you lucky
cessena 182
very fun
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vqkrht
Anything I can fix, teacher build for gaming
dont need 64 gigs to game
just looked at it for a sec and get a 3700x or a ryzen 5 5600x if you can the 3800x doesnt really help much but its a lot more expensive
He does audio production
psu overpriced
and wanted more ram
phanteks amp 850 is pog
he found his 32gb ram too little for his audio work
it sucks it up too fast.
I was thinking RMX850w
i know its good
but expensive
I would get a big hdd for bulk storage
amp is rly good i think
Hdd is much cheaper
he wanted all ssd
I already asked
I gave him a hdd build
he said we would prefer HDD
You can get much more storage on a hdd than a ssd for the same price
Basically im trying to convert him to pc masterrace
Yeah but his audio files he works with are in tb's
Huge amounts of moving audio files around
Maybe do a SSD cache for a HDD, best of both worlds
I tried that as well lol
He questioned why HDD
tech teacher be like
the revolt is good right?
Like I need to make sure I don't accidently kill a teacher.
Well if you've got the money for it you can totally go all SSD, there's relatively affordable 2.5 drives that are 8 TB now
yeah be sure to only kill teachers on purpose
Lol
falcie u reminded me of the friend i have
they built a super smol nas
its like 100+tb
I asked my teacher if I can go over his 2k budget
using 4tb 860 evo
Only 100TB in the NAS? If I was doing one of those I'd need at least 8 bays with 15-25TB each
If anyone has the time, could you put together a 1400$ pc for me
Like watching or editing?
it was for a client
... even more description
video editing
Editing
had like 10+ ppl hitting the box at once
any ssd's y'all recommend?
needed to fit like 4 raw projects at once
I'd assume either m.2 or 3.5
depends on the use cas e
but generally the pilot e is a perfectly fine drive
same with the mp34
if within like $20 of each other id mp34
970 EVO Pro = Bad¿
(As a boot drive with a couple of games that are played often)
Don't use an M.2 as a boot drive?
im confused what
uh
yea everyone i’ve talked to has said the same
why not
I just interpret what Jayden said.
Not an advice, just a question.
i like the mlc
O
but it is kind of overpriced
i mean not overpriced
but there are drives that offer better value to the average consumer
for a lower price
I can tell you what's overpriced lol
my two gen4 drives
Yes, Gen4 has no benefit over gen3
avoid
just got em on sale
what do you have rn?
Ew gen4
literally no point unless you're copying large files from one gen4 to another
Then again, my blender renders can hit like 8tbs
Lol
max ive hit so far is 1.6
combined in different files
like 8
I built my pc
Will 650W be adequate? Was one of my main concerns
for what
Yes
Very interesting storage
For tHat
Not that PSU though if possible
650W wioll be adequate if it's a quality one
Cv650 is eh
yeah, NOT that one
It's not "oh hell no it's going to blow" but it's not good either
Yea
CV is bad too
Oh\
CXm coil whine, CV just low quality overall
i know CXM is C
I think bad ripple
CV 650 was tier c and CV <650 was tier D iirc
I don't get it, why does mobile capitalize D and not capitalize c
Welp
it capitallizes c for me.
Glad I didn’t listen to the website and get 450W then 💀
Rule #1 of building a pc,
Never cheap out on a PSU
you don't need a living room bomb
and california wildfires
Yessir
That list earlier I sent
I specifically made sure the PSU didn't explode lol
i don't need a teacher dead.
i should have known this
when i built my pc
but my dumbass didnt
literally i kid you not
i like brace myself in the morning when i boot up my pc
scared it just wont boot
what is a psu?
Did u just ask that
its a power supply
Power supply unit
I've never touched a pc besides the school laptops
schools pc i mean
lmao
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hXw2fP is this a good build? Im gonna use it for mainly office work and some minecraft
need some edits
like?
Where is the graphics card
Ok
any recomendations to make it cheeper or better?
Its just a starting pc when i start working I will upgrade
I would say your mobo is way too expensive for your cpu
At least do this
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CtpcPV
and use some of the saved money for decent keeb+mouse
Can u put together a 1400$ pc for me
if I make the assumption you can get cards at msrp, yes
need wifi or no
is the $200 mobo worth it?
Assuming you can get 3060ti at msrp, here @velvet isle
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wgtG68
@little osprey hell no
ight
so keep the mobo that u recomeded me?
Keep it
ok
You fool
this is my worst nightmare. that and not knowing what to do when it does boot up lol
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BLMW7X okay im ready to pull the trigger on this build but i need to get suggestions on a psu i really dont think its very good
Seems fine
The B5 is a C tier iirc
What card?
Although maybe a seasonic or corsair would be good too
Not showing on mobile
3070 or 3060ti which ever one i can get my hands on
Phanteks 650w or segotep modular
Segotep gp-g 750w is an option too
yea that works
bruh why
I don't even remember what list I made you but that looks nothing like something I'd make
wait wait wait
unless its just something you want
this was the list I sent you
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wgtG68
not x
and you swapped out 10600k for 3600 :(
lmao
you swapped a helix l 1tb for a p2 500gb..?
It's just not a good idea
p2 not a good drive
500gb as sole storage isn't a great idea either
@velvet isle In conclusion, the CPU+Motherboard+Ram changes spent more money for less performance, the SSD change went for a worse smaller drive, case is worse, and that case required you to pay more for RGB fans, when the first case came with argb fans.
Going with ryzen will give me better choices in the future
Not really
i would say the list Mr1111 made is far more superior
both Intel and AMD only have 1 more generation on that socket
Ryzen past 5000 series is going on a different platform (socket)
AM4 is probably going out next gen
And Intel past 11th gen will be on a different platform
@velvet isle I know AMD held the crown for a bit, and people still recommend AMD as a whole over Intel, but the current market specifically gives Intel the crown.
For me realistically i wont need anything past a ryzen 9 5900x
And again, Intel also has another generation on the socket, which, if leaks are to be believed, will smack AMD in gaming.
leaks 🤣
(Intel already said 11th gen will be supported on Z490 btw)
1111 why spend 100$ on a weird looking case like the TD500 😩
@potent portal eh, benches (passmark) are good enough for me to get a sense of the performance of the hardware
i like the meshify c
Since 11900k and 11800k(I think?) already popped up on passmark with benches, I think we have a general idea
I like my meshify also, and I believe it's on sale
its very nice
@little osprey It's a great case thermals wise, and I love the look lel
The mobo that i chose realistically wont need to be upgraded. It already has gen 4 m.2. Gen 4 PCIE. Support up to 128GB of ram, 4733 mhz. Am4. What more will i need
@potent portal and btw, here's the comparison. Overall score doesn't really matter, it's a 8c chip against 12c, single core is what's interesting
https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/Intel-i9-11900K-vs-AMD-Ryzen-9-5900X/3904vs3870
the front panel though 😩
u guys just love posting
builds
build chat.
@velvet isle I mean, that wasn't the main issue I was talking about, the CPU's performance itself was what we were talking about
i just posted it bc the rx 580 is $515
With the list I gave you, there's another 200$ free in the budget to spend on a better Z490 board that can likely do everything that b550 board can do.
with how close we are to 11th gen intel
don't you think it would be a good idea to just wait
I mean, that's a good option too
could grab a z590 board that has native pcie 4.0 support plus 11th gen chip
but need something to fallback on if 11th gen sells out
ye
you can save 15 bucks if you care on the PSU with a amp 650
Do you live near a microcenter?
I wish
Same.
What is the socket for 11 gen
Is it worth the time or money to return 32 GB of CL16 3200mhz RAM for 32 GB CL16 3600mhz for a 5900x?
Starting to question whether 3200mhz really is sufficient for a 5900x
id say yes
Yeah alright, I probably will, idk when I’ll get the CPU anyways so it’s not like time is a major constraint
AMD loves fast RAM, it boosts the infinity fabric speed
CableMod
Does G.SKILL Trident Z Neo Series, 16x2 (32) GB DDR4 3800MHz SDRAM, sound sufficient for a 5900x?
prob should grab a link, one sec
Huh, alright
SOunds weird
I’ll see if the 4000Mhz equivalent is cheaper or near that
shoot, out of stock right now https://www.newegg.com/ballistix-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820164153
Yeah I’m looking at 32 so two sets of those 16 might be cheaper for sure but tbh I might just go with 2x16 for more expansion
Just in case I ever want to go overkill and get 64 GB of ram
how much cooling do you guys think I'll get by slapping another fan to AMD's stock cooler for their A series chips?
probably not much
i'd just go get a better cpu cooler
those have more thermal mass anyways
my aio stopping working randomly
Can someone help me with a few psu questions
prob should jus ask em so that if someone can they can help u
What’s the difference between the “ BQ” “BR” and the “BA”
i dont know exactly but I'm pretty sure bq is the best out of all of em
but theyre still not really good power supplies
I am unable to get my hands on any 30 series graphics cards here in canada. Any other sources or recommendations?
Someone with no life who can spam f5 all day for you
newegg shuffle is best 😂
I got really really lucky with a unopened evga 3070 resale
Paid msrp. Just keep looking!
Where did you find that?
Honestly from a local on kijiji
They were laid off and just needed some bucks. Gave me the receipt and I was able to register warranty no problem
I just went to bestbuy and bought a 3070 on release date
Trust buying 3060ti off etsy?
No. last one I saw there was a scam
Thanks
I would not buy a graphics card until they are back in stock with trusted retailers
speak your problem
which two models
