with 1.5k I'd suggest a ryzen 5 5600x, RTX 3070 from evga, 650-750 watts, 1 tb nvme ssd plus an internal ssd, 16gb-32gb of ram

Hey guys! I have a build question for anyone that I’m hoping y’all can help me out with: I recently upgraded my mobo and cpu, ran some windows updates on an Ethernet cable, and everything ran fine for awhile. Now, I’m looking at slower boot times (nothing crazy but it’s pretty noticeable) and I’m not sure if it’s related, but my rgb settings that I run through nzxt cam as well as my keyboard rgb switch back to their default with every reboot. Any help is appreciated!!

My only thought is that it could be because I’m not running Windows 10, version 20H2 yet, but I still find it strange that it was working fine for awhile and just started acting up tonight

Edit: thought I’d fixed it but looks like it’s still persisting, but I also only get a successful windows boot every other shutdown and power on or restart. I’ll have to power down with the case button and then turn it on again to get a signal

i dunno if this means anything significant, but i've found out that if i instantly run heaven benchmark after reboot/restart nothing goes wrong

the freezing only ends up happening some time later for some reason, then it has to restabilise

restarted (with an actual clean driver install, kept forgetting to disconnect pc from internet so that's why it kept auto installing v457), heaven is fine, phasmo is fine, mhw crashed, went back to heaven, still fine, tried twin saga, froze on loading, back to heaven, crashed

@junior mural @fast oasis You both may want to look into buying/making a small stand or platform to set your rig on. Letting it sit on the carpet is bad for thermals and dust.

@ruby ledge you may have a bit of an issue with a white budget build unless you are willing to do some modding yourself. For some reason white components are less common and seem to be more expensive, especially the GPU.

I tried to do one and you can manage to get most of the pieces, but the gpu is going to be the big issue, especially with the current market

your best bet would be to get a gpu and then disassemble it and paint what you can if you are willing to

I wouldn't suggest disassembling the fans, these ones aren't usually made to be taken apart. You'd need to take apart the entire cooler on the GPU to do it.

Q-tips if you can't fit your fingers, 90% is strongly recommended but 70 should be okay

You also gotta buy a windows 10 key which are normally 20-30 bucks

go thru ebay and its like a few bucks

maybe 5 at most

and you can get mega cheap pro keys
