im offended
oranyone
they arent the only people who know PCs on this server
and naed is rarely on anymore from what I can tell
gimme 15mins
Ye, gotta be on top of the drops
snail monitor is useful
which one did you get?
3070 XC3 Ultra
a respectable card
Same as my 2060
ill take that 2060 off your hands
LOL!
I have to make sure my order actually gets complete and I has the 3070 in my hands first
I mean, that they don't cancel the order
I need help
My cooler fits but when I slightly screw one side in the other side doesn’t reach the screw and if I screw it any looser the other side just pops out
What cooler?
The stock one for ryzen 1600
Screws are spring loaded
Push them down a little bit?
use a screwdriver too not your fingers
ah
Even if you crank on it only X amount of pressure is on the CPU
I think I got 3 screws in but the forth doesn’t want to screw it
Hey guys for the lian li o11 dynamic case would I be able to install all my fans first then put the mobo
I am talking about putting the fans on the bottom
MATX or ATX board?
Atx
I mean, it will be more of a pain if the fans are installed
So do whichever first you like
How???
Ok
Should I get an aio
@muted patio what’s better Meg ace or rog strix both x570
if they have same speed and are both cl16, theres not gonna be one that is so much more or less better than the other
in my opinion
Guys what mobo is better Meg ace or rog strix
Crucial tends to have tigher sub timings
I mean, do you really need a $350 motherboard?
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TcT3W3
What do you guys think of this build?
overclocking heavily or something?
Maybe
are you going for a maxed out build or smt??
@muted patio which one is better
Asus
yes
Isn’t bios flashback where I insert a usb with the mobo latest update and plug it on the mobo right ?
Depends on the processor, case and other factors
You're buying a $350 mobo for the 5600x?
I am doing 6 intake with 3 exhaust
Why?
@wanton cliff
nani
yes if you are planning to overclock, buy an aio
If 5600x, then B550
much cooler temps
You should spend less on the mobo for sure
Ok
what u think
and yeah, AIO's are better but
Maybe
cant comment
right?
dont know enough about intel
yea, with that big of a budget, you should be getting an aio
Some air coolers are better
ummm
DEPENDS ON THE CASE
Lian li
how heavy of overclocking
O11
like HEAVY or light
okok
Idk yet
then a rlly beefy air cooler will save some pain
probably
just my reccomendation tho
Ok
Because if I shouldn’t get an aio than I will start putting my fans on that’s why
so are u just going for a top of the line build?
ANYONE
ok
so im guessing, u dont have ethernet?
i have 1tb drive
Should I do 6 intake and 3 exhaust
i reccomend neutral
So?
So 6 exhaust
yea
?
wait but u have 9?
Yes
ok, just do 5 in, 4 out
Ok
that might look weird
Yah
positive pressure is better for temps, but make sure to clean it out often
Clean with
Is this case good for airflow?
Wut
I have a black case rn and want to buy a white one to match my desk
Ok
@hoary lichen eh its alright, would not recommend it though
So should I do 4 and 4
Glass front case = no good airflow
wait dont you have 9 fans tho?
probably better than h510 though
Yes
not necessarily
so, 4 and 4 would be 8
Yah
so you would need 5 and 4
The glass sticks out a bit
your fans will be choked in the front with a solid front panel though
doesnt the case he have top down airflow?
We never reviewed the Corsair 460X, but now we are reviewing the Corsair iCUE 465X. It's good that we never reviewed the first case, because we’re thoroughly tired of trying to find new things to say about case revisions when we’ve just gotten through looking at the prior one. The 465X is a familiar design with a full-length PSU shroud and tempe...
Heat rises, don't fight it
lian li right?
loll yea
well i mean bottom top
wait
Wait so should I do 3 exhaust on top and 6 intake
It CAN be
with the glass front i thought it was
Wait I am so confused I am new so I don’t know
bruh i thought most cases were just from right to left
Lian Li has fans on the backside
@muted patio can u help me out
ok, so do a lotttt of research, like know what each component does, research the case, everything, how to build from beginning to end, it will save ur ass
trust me
Any recommendations for a white case under $110
I can spend 300 but dont want to on a case
🗿
i plan on getting a rosewill prism case. i dont plan on oc anyways
@plush mist help
yes?
Wut should I do
yea im gonna have to look up the o11
Ok
not familiar at al with that case
for o11 I see 6 intake 3 exhaust
is it the dynamic
yea
Dm me
the best i can say is to 3 exhaust at the top and then do intake
since it has a glass front
Ill get it
Thx for the suggestion
Should I do 3 ex and 6 in
with the exhaust on top
@ornate flume what board do you have now? for the 9700K
I did a test beck and everything worked do you think one screw being loose in the cooler is that much of a problem
Ok
I have a gigabyte Aorus pro wifi
Are you on the latest BIOS?
up. that's the first thing I do is bring the bios up to current.
Patriot viper ddr4 2x16 3200mhz
And it won't XMP to the rated speed past 2666?
nope. I've been trying since 6am this morning to figrure out why. I cant see an xmp setting in the bios and the bios only recognizes 1 DIMM
this is the 3rd board that's done that. the other 2 were RMA'ed. Meh... semi spaced. there's enough rooom for heatsyncs
and yes, 4 side by side.
Ah, 4 dimms total. Not two sticks
no, 2 sticks.
yep. I have the ram in a2/b2
And it's only recognizing one stick?
SOunds like defective RAM then
Or possibly a defective CPU with a bad memory channel
@muted patio what better sn850 or 980 pro
I have a 9700 (no k) that does the same thing.
I've heard that if it's not on the QVL you're toast.
I know... that's why Im befuttled.
@muted patio what better sn850 or 980 pro
I don't know about those drives
Ok
haven't read reviews
I have a deep cool and a thermaltake. I've tried both. Ive evened loosened one so it's not go so much downward pressure. (They still have more than enough though).
Hi. I have a very, very old laptop that runs extremely slow. Is there any way to speed it up
The laptop is a compaq presario cq57-229wm running windows 10 with 2gb mem
the mem would help. getting a faster HDD or an SDD would help. I don't recommend SDDs for laptops if it's going to sit.
I have a question because I want to get a new computer and I have saved up so far a total of 800 dollars and was wondering if there is a prebuilt that you know of having good specs
So upgrading it and maxing it to 8gb would make a big difference?
Yes
two 4 GB sticks
I think its too old for ssd
It makes some. I have a 2nd gen i5 that pepped up after adding another 4gb
It's SATA 300 so an ssd would work but I'd get a 7200 RPM hard drive instead or something
definately 7200rpm. those 5200's will make you like the morning newspapers lol.
It take 10 minutes now just to load chrome browser
yeah.... more ram. it's cheap.
LMAO
Dual core processor gonna be slow no matter what though
nice one
no... actually considering what it was.... it's a step up.
not a flight of stairs but a step lmao
I looked it up I guess it’s a problem that occurs a lot with the 1600
Id like to get a faster one or tablet but dont really have the money
Try rotating the cooler 90 degrees
I have 2 laptops one is intel and other is amd bith basically same model
on the gigabyte? did that too.
no, @slim escarp
If I do that should I worry about thermal paste because I don’t have any
oof. You'll need some
Or loosen the screw opposite and put the PITA one in then the other one?
Huh
no screws. It has those push/click pins
Not the Rzyen 1600 that Novey has
oh lol
Your situation
I mean, if a ram stick isn't showing in BIOS through multiple CPU and motherboards, the ram is most likely bad
Thanx all
That link is to the ram
I can here the screw scraping so it’s needs like 1 mm more
$45 for a kit for your laptop
Couldn't i get a newer tablet for like 60?
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TcT3W3
How is this build?
What if it was 100ghz
Not slow
2nd set of new dimms, 3rd new board, 2 different brand new processors... still the same thing. The bios says it's got a measily 1gb for A2 and doesn
doesn't show any timings.
swap the chips between A and B and both register.
The worse part of this is I’m in the middle of class
I've been putting boards in PC's since the 386 and this one has me utterly baffled. That's why I asked if Asrock had something comparable?
whats a rlly good aio
EK
or Asus... or ANYTHING other that a Gigabyte.
Z390 yeah?
yea
I got it in but it won’t screw down any lower it’s like the screw is too fat or something
OH GOD
I have a z170 MB that recognizes all the new ram I put in it. The issue is it's a 7th gen i5. My Haswell i5 4690k ate it for breakfast.
top ten images taken moments before disaster
ok, cool. has the wifi, the bluetooth and all the other goodies? lmao
I can pass on the LED stuff. I need a 22120 M.2 that has windows on it.
Yay I got it after 1 hour of screwing my arm hurts
Should I screw it until the bottom screw reaches
Yes, until they all stop
That screw is so f’d up it makes a loud noise when I’m screwing it in and it looks thicker than the rest I think that’s why it was so long of a process
I'll look into the two boards you suggested. Gigabyte tech support doesn't exist.
Thanks for the help!!! wish I could figure this giga.... trssshshh out... lol
do you think 8gb is it's limit per DIMM?
Nah... still beating my head over it is all.. Thanks. Honest.
well gang, Im off to eat. my stomach's called a cab to the airport so ty again!
I was trying to upgrade the RAM on an ASUS mini desktop. The new module causes the computer to randomly reboot. Any ideas why it isn't accepting the new memory? Crucial said it's compatible.
Did you leave the old stick in or replace it?
I put back in the old stick. It works fine
Probably need a Clear CMOS for the BIOS so it can recognize the new ram speed and timings
Easiest way is to shut it off, put in the new stick, unplug from the wall, remove the button battery for 2-5 minutes. Reinstall battery, plug back in and boot it up
OK will try it one more time. Otherwise I will live with the original configuration. Thanks
2 questions what do I do with the metal things on the back of the io shield and is this supposed to be like that
Look at the hdmi
that is the wifi antennas connect to
Cinebench R20 is usually a good one
Ok
Dont look at it for a stress test tho
Ok
me when my modem got sprayed with feces water from my boiler room
72C For a 9900k 100% load is good right?
I'd say so
Alright
What do I do how to I move those things on the shield
You don't
They're like springs
Just push a little bit and put a screw in to hold it
Ok
if I send my pc fart picker list could someone give me some tips / rate it
it's my first time building a pc
ok I was thinking of getting a 1660
no
that is even worse
if you have 700 to spend on a gpu then get a 3070 or 3080 FE
i only have like 300 left to buy a gpu
then why did you put down a $700 gpu?
also I have a hard drive in the list it just didn't update for some reason
I plan on buying used
I just put it there for aesthetics
ok
or I'll just buy a new 1660
for 300 you get a 1660Ti or spend a hundred more to get a 3060Ti, which is much better
and by much i mean MUCH
ok I'll consider it
as for your storage
512 would be good for your OS and maybe a few of your favorite games
yeah
but you are going to want a 2tb hard drive or something along with it
ok yeah 3060 looks pretty good
a R5 2600 for $200 isnt good
MSRP for a R5 3600 is 10 bucks less and its a better CPU
and that one you can actually find a lot better than most other things too
what's the difference between r5 and r5 2600
also the Hyper 212 Black edition is not the greatest of coolers, but I suppose it'll do for a 2600 or 3600
Also one more thing I just noticed: a Ryzen 2000 CPU cannot utilize more than 3200mhz RAM. You have 3600mhz RAM on your part list. Ryzen 3000 can, however, utilize this and more.
ok I'll probably get the 3600
and you can get a B550 (like a DS3H or something) for $10-30 bucks cheaper, it being a better board than a B550
is the wraith stealth cooler that comes with the 3600 better than the one I have on the list
sorry for being so thorough
no
no problem
ty 😊😊
also on pc part picker it says that the m2 slot shares bandwidth with sata 6.0 gb/s ports
will this be a problem I should worry about?
nd if so how should I edit the list to fix
np
lmao
i used the bottom M.2 port on my dad's pc that I built for him
totally forgot
I should switch that at some point
eh, he doesnt use HDDs anyways
or SATA SSDs
bruh
ok
gigabytes rgb software is a$$
my friend was telling me how my psu was non modular, will this be an actual problem or more of just a visual/ cable management thing
wait bruh
the picture came wrong
the fans were all green
and the ram is stuck at that color
itll be more of a 'itll be a little bit more annoying to build this' kinda thing
real lpain bc i dont even use half of the sata power connectors
This is non modular. Works just fine.
and also i have a gt 710 which draws all the power fromthe pcie slot kekw
so then i dont even need the gpu power cable
nice
That's a really nice case XD
ketchup and mustard
Phanteks P500A, only $100
ew
my technique is called shove everything into the hard drive bay
cheap
@muted patio 🔥
coom worthy cable management
old
first rule of Cable Management: if you can't see it, it doesnt exist
I dont do cars lol
ADHD sucks too
lmfao lemme send a picture of my cable management
only cables you can even really see are 2x8 pin for GPU and fan cables (which are under the GPU and totally out of the way)
beauty
I mean, that ain't bad
my usb mic isnt working anyone know any solutions to fix. its a headset mic(sry if this wrong channel)
🤣 @fossil halo
Try USB 2.0 instead of 3.0
which mic
headset mic
brand name?
cehck if its the right audio input source
model name?
like in the app
shoudnt matter too much
does it?
A LOT of them pitch fits if used in USB 3.0 ports
Yeah
i wouldnt be surprised if the headset is dead
USB only for lights looks like
And OP will need a Mic/Speaker splitter
Cuz the one cable is a dual mic/speaker 3.5mm
wait what does op even mean
Like for cell phones
i see it everywhere
Original Poster
oh
nice web design but the products look like the dump I took last week in the woods
and what is oc
fr lmfao
or Original Content
yea i think its what sara said
like ik it for overclock
and for of course isnt it ofc more than not
idk i use thta
@gleaming ginkgo you probably need one of these https://www.amazon.com/Headphone-Splitter-Computer-Smartphone-Headset/dp/B01MQZ2023/ref=asc_df_B01MQZ2023/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=226131567976&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17874030332214934900&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9033547&hvtargid=pla-382920953199&psc=1
ofc is 'of f*cking course' but I read it the way you said
Those headsets have a combo 3.5mm jack, won't work with a PC
or just get a proper mic
Or spend $7 to make what they have work
fifine k669b#1 best choce
snowballs are pretty good
Snowball is better. Go ahead, @ me
cheaper too
My HyperX is actually pretty good
Onikuma K5-M
@wanton cliff i would like to say that the fifine k669b is better than the blue snowball and is of less price, offering the assumption that is it superior
there isnt a search function on the site
yea
i used to have that issue
then i used to use my webcam mic
then i got a proper mic for christmas
we can both agree that the Wave3 is the best streaming/recording mic tho for everyday use
idk much about expensive mics
@gleaming ginkgo
from Elgato. Look it up.
i mean my mic sounds fire anywayt
so i dont think i need anyrthing more
i need a boom arm thats about it
i would very much like a boom arm
for gaming/VC just get a semi-decent headset mic and use VoiceMeeter
same
tf is voice meeter
oo ok ty
DE-DE-DE-DE-DELAY!!!!
YW
yea maybe the one thing that is better
I haven't had any issues with delay, there's obviously a little but nothing major
wiat but what is voice meeter
probably some sound cleaning software
VoiceMeeter Virtual Audio Device Mixer by V.Burel
a good sound card does that the same
i mean mine is just plug and play idk what thing it came with
liek some drivers or something
but i have outemu blues
so then when i type apparently its hella loud
Razer Mamba wireless here
clicks wake the house
loud as demons straight outta hell
a mouse not kb but still
deathadder elite is a lot quieter in comparison
i have one right here next to my mamba
clicking both of em side by side
mamba is a hell of a lot louder
dont get me wrong, both are pretty loud
but still
i got a g703
nah i think its just a wireless g403
ah
yea its literally just a wireless g403
I suppose they look similar from the top
only main differences in Logo and RGB on the wheel
and the DPI button I suppose (never liked Logi's DPI button)
anyone know when the r5 5600 non x model will come out?
considering the lack of leaks i doubt there will be one
🤷
didn't they only release one version of each cpu for a reason?
they wanted to prevent everyone buying the cheapest one(non x) and no one buys the x/xt
so then why repeat it
the value of the non x though
I mean, they always do it that way
Then they start taking the silicon that doesn't make the cut and start making other processors with it
If yields are good, takes a while to get the lower binned stuff
I found the split thing and the mic and audio works but the audio is worse now
but when i plug the two into the bac its way better
but the mic doesnt work
Green for green and Red into pink?
yea
Windows SOund Settings, make sure the Mic is selected there
sacrificing audio quality worth imo unless its really bad
but at the front of the pc when i plug the two things in the mic works
control panel too
ok i do that
Guys what’s better sn850 or Meg ace
for mobos?
hold on
A: why you want an AIO
B: are you talking about Mobos?
What do I mean mobo
ty now it works
motherboard
i didnt change anything but now it works for sum reason
ok, odd
How
Sn has 5.3 write speed
hold on
And 980 has 5k
@hollow grail
@wanton cliff I want an aio for better performance
both are the same in 1tb models according to amazon
And does it keep cooler temps than air coolers
depends
except 980 pro has PCIe 4.0 supports
What’s the read and write sipped
sometimes
good air cooler might be better or equal as a AiO
Is 980 better
yes
How
in 1tb models they are both the same except 980 is PCIe 4.0, 850 is PCIe 3.0
a full generation ahead
either way you are getting a good deal
970 EVO Plus is best price to performance
980 pro is just best
Is this right
That why I am asking if it’s better
on paper, yes
What’s paper
I trust Samsung more with hard drives than WD tbh but they are both good companies
metaphorical
is english not your first language?
makes sense
What’s a great aioooooooo
IDKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
arctic freezer ii
Any other ones
lian li gallahad
I want a 360
like Vem said tho, you can get just as great or better performance on a aircooler
Which air cooler than
240 is the only worth it size IMO, after that temps stagnate
Oh I am 9 fans
DeepCool Assassin III
So I shouldn’t get a aio
thats a good watercooling case
what he said i guess
I am not doing water cooling
an AIO is watercooling
Ok
But I am not full water cooling
I meant
Only an aio
What’s better rog strix or Meg ace
yeah but an AIO is watercooling for people who have never watercooled before
which strix or meg board? B450, X570, B550, etc
Asus TUF X570 has best VRMs and PCIe lanes on the market
and it has RGB
source: I have a TUF X570 board
TUF X570 is hands down the best
👀
Besides that
like I said, best VRMs and best PCIe lanes
Is that true
unless you got something to share, keep quiet please
Why not rog or Meg
yes. Why else would I say it?
Asus is both TUF and Strix. ROG is their gaming brand. Meg is from MSI, who makes ok~ish motherboards
better than Aorus at least
I dont think its better than aorus to be honest
so go for the TUF X570
even better then
Is there any beside that or no
sure there are, but the TUF X570 board is the current best you can buy
relatively cheap too
aorus elite have better vrm i heard
Hey people spend money for godlike, shrug its their dime lol
Can't say, haven't really messed around with threadrippers tbh. Usually I stick with msi or asus when ti comes to mobo's never had a bad one.
rog series is best as trx40 ig
Zenith II is my favorite
extreme ?
yep
I'd lean more towards the Zenith 2 as well, rog is usually just overpriced because of a name
its good one yeah
Kind of like the fatality series was for headsets.
tbf rog boards are VERY good
They have their ups and downs just like anything.
Asus and Msi is still best as mobo ig . I like more msi couse components are really high quality
I've been using both since athlon came out, also used other ones.
MSI has/had really crappy VRM's for AMD though
Its why I stick with them mostly lol
Build quality is there and you generally get what you pay for, just be sure to compare the components/slots and sizes first.
Asus has best looking boards, best VRMs, best PCIe lanes, etc etc
yep . in high end lines asus is much better
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare?CompareItemList=13-144-277%2C13-144-276%2C9SIAN0MBM84008%2C13-119-227%2C13-119-219 I hope the compare shows up right
Might be subtle changes in the compare but might be missing out on something you want more so than the other
also I usually dont like gigabyte products but aorus series look real good
Yeah.
Never liked them much to be honest, got better performance/realiability out of other products
I using b450 aorus elite rn its pretty nice but yeah ordered msi mpg z390 for my new i7 9700k
rip your 9700k
d!ck]
not saying its going to be fried but the chance is greater on that mobo in particular
wait nvm wrong board
yep z390 is good for 9700k
lol I have r5 3600 with b450 aorus elite but im not happy with it . ordered 9700k and msi mpg z390
trying to get a friend some memory for his new 5600x. I don't think the samsung B die tax is worth it, so I'm trying to get him some E die. I think that any Crucial 3600 CL16 should be E-die, but I'm not sure. Any thoughts?
@celest horizon since you seem to know things
It'll be micron rev.e, yes
whats the difference between the different dies?
why people trying overclock lol just get better one xd
Meh, slightly better performance for a shorter lifespan of the components never made much sense to me if done in extremes unless ya don't give a damn about your stuff.
Minor oc with a tweak here or there, no biggie won't really affect it that much in lifespan.
yeah right . I just don't think it's worth it to everclock . i using cpu at stock speed and rams with xmp
major OC is fine if you do it right, and depending on what you're OCing that's 10%+ more perf.
XMP RAM is usually kinda bad. Pretty hard to "just buy a better one" when stock timings/freq comes bad for the exception of very few high end dimms.
Y’all think a Ryzen 5 3600 & an ASRock B450 Pro4 is a good route to go for a first pc? I got a recommendation to go with a i5-10400 and a B460 Mobo but idk what is truly better since i am new to this
also hopefully something that doesn’t break the bank
for gaming intel is best )
For upgrading your rig in the future I would suggest the r5 3600
until Zen4 comes out and Zen3 chips are cheaper
Also Zen4 is going to be on AM5 so it dont really matter
3600 gets better results then 10400 due to RAM compatibility.
intel cuter
intel is still best for gaming xd
Woah zen4 is coming!!!
hasnt been announced yet but at some point, yes
plz dont meme when helping others, it causes confusion
meh amd is good for render performance but not that good for gaming
zen3 is decent for gaming
but too expensive imo
if you get z390/z490 and get good RAM, yeah
Zen3 better than new intel chips
Zen3 just came out and the best processor is 5900x now (for gaming) which is also am4 but I would be expecting mobo issues
well they can price it higher since it performs better right?
also, Zen3 is pretty much equal or cheaper then Intel last I check
price isnt something to worry over to say "no zen3"
stock is the issue
5900x is not the best processor for gaming lol
i don't think there is a game that uses 12 cores yet
do you say this because the chip is going to be compatible with a lot of new upgrade paths? or chip + mobo
Wait then it's 5950x
???
i7 9700k with z390 is performs much better than my firend's r7 3700x
5950x is 4 cores more than 5900x
chip and board will work with up to 5th gen ryzen
well board
that isnt the issue. You dont need a game to use 12c+ to see gains on a 12c CPU. Lower CPU utilization means lower latency, thus either gives higher throughput (fps) or better input latency
What’s better rog strix or Meg ace
ah
That's Zen2 for one, and for two you proved my point of needing z390/z490 mobo to get equal/better pef
else RAM speed is locked and perf is lowered
yes 9700k and 3700x is about same price ( 9700k is cheap actaully ) and 3700x have much more benchmark pionts while its not that good in games
Yeah the single-core performance
also dont forget to compare cpu cooler+mobo costs
Guys I need help with my aio can someone video call me to help
only thing i like amd is all mobos are unlocked xd
right now im all intel except for one system
Sorry for my question but Is the VRAM of the rtx 3080 enough for a 1440p 240hz gaming monitor and a 1080p as the second monitor for youtube, discord etc.( mainly playing Fortnite, Warzone, Apex Legends and CP). Also planning for the 5900x
Can someone video call me so I can get help with my aio
yes, 10GB is fine for that
pretty much only run into issues sometimes at 4k
Ah okay because Warzone does already take 8,5gb vram at 1440p
I have one r5 3600 system but ill change it to 9700k too im not happy with it
i wouldnt do that lol
Whats the issue (I was gonna build this year with r5)
are you sure it takes that much rather then allocates that much
Not sure why you're 3600 isn't?
if ram is free, stuff will use it
@hollow grail Thanks @cursive wharf Idk man
What are you using to see usage?
actually couse my storage problem . i have b450 aorus elite mobo and if you connect 2 x nvme ssd , you losing 4 sata ports that means it only have 2 m2 and 2 sata
thats an issue with the board
and if you need more than 4 drives you need a nas
Pffff
i know but if i dont like amd anyways lol xd
