#building-and-recc-chat

Hello
My budget is between 1000-2000 USD.
I need Bluetooth support for connecting multiple devices such as my Sony headphones, gigabit internet connectivity, multiple 3.0 USB ports for plugging in my monitors, vr, keyboard, mouse, etc all at the same time. I also prefer Intel, Nvidia, and not water cooling due to leak risks although am open to other recommendations.
https://pcpartpicker.com/b/YkzNnQ
So far I found this build
I am looking to replace that extra storage with the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X (will also have to replace the motherboard because of that).
If you have any other build recommendations feel free to send them as well.
I need help building a pc in the price range of 2000 for mostly gaming and streaming
hey guys i need advice
can you tell me if this is a good pc for flight simulator
maybe get a wd blue instead of a seagate
but yeah it'll run the game fine
also literally says in there lmao
but the type c port on the case wont be usable
No
do fans indicate arrows where the intake is coming from?
Uh, not that I know of
ahh
Well nvm
The side with the fan blades do intake
The other side where it attaches is blowing out
If anything, you could just feel it to make sure lol
ohhhh your right, that makes alot of sense
also, in any case, do they allow any fan to be put ontop too?
Depends on the holes they made
what does a 3 pin mean
ahh i see
3 or 4 pin it'll still turn the fan
3pin has dc control
is the installation for the fans being put ontop straight forward?
this is my first build
Yep
Just line up the holes
And screw them in by corners
Opposite corners
A rule that applies to basically everything too
yeah, that makes alot of sense
so the case i have comes in stock with 2 fans
i was thinking of buying more, iis the move to buy 1 for the back and 2 ontop if need be?
ohhh
Check temps to see if they're garbo before buying more
i didnt know i could switch them around
when i get the case, will it be already screwed in place?
Yes, I'd expect them to be
Included fans in cases should be installed, just waiting for you to plug em in
Have fun with your build!
that clears up so much of my questions, thanks man!!
I think that's the most important bit
Yah
Come along and ask a techie if you have any problems lol
if anything ill slap some led strips instead of buying rgb cuz moneys tight hahaha
Yess
@jagged ember if my router is downstairs, and my mobo doesnt support wifi, whats the best alternative route?
Wifi Card, or an Extender?
does it matter what brand i go for?
It's cheaper, but make sure your mobo has a pcie 1x slot at least
Uhh
Not really, I guess
Just check it's capabilities
^
I got a wifi card with an ax200 in it because I like higher speeds and WIFI6 for example
And bluetooth
Can I input an ssd in my pc? Like after I buy it
What do you mean by input?
Well I heard u can upgrade a pc
So I was saying could I buy the ssd piece and upgrade my pc?
Depends on the PC for what else it supports
If it only comes with a single m.2 slot and a m.2 ssd already installed, can't add another, yaknow.
if it has sata ports, you can connect other sdds
like this one for examplehttps://www.newegg.com/mushkin-enhanced-raw-series-1tb/p/N82E16820226908?item=N82E16820226908&source=region&nm_mc=knc-googleadwords-pc&cm_mmc=knc-googleadwords-pc--pla--solid+state+disk-_-N82E16820226908&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIl57UqJKo7QIVDL3ICh2duAXhEAQYASABEgJlm_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
but im assuming you have an m.2 ssd so it wouldnt work
Um I can show u guys. Here
@gleaming quartz dramless, I wouldn't get that
Idk, someone told me NVMe was better then dsd
A520-a pro eh
Ssd*
@torn token NVMe is a type of SSD
109 for windows 10 too
Yeh
Windows 10 should be 5$
if only
You can get a key off of eBay or g2a or whatever for $1-20
So...why do they say NVMe?? When it's just an ssd

Oh, well do most PC's come is NVMe?
No
Prebuilts no
Well. If NVMe is good then I'm good lol. I didn't know it was ssd
Thanks lol :3 ik u went "Eh" with the motherboard but is it upgradeable? Does it have slots?
A single m.2 slot, that'll be taken up, and 4 SATA ports
@stoic island is rn the best time to buy a gpu or the worst time to buy a gpu
@hoary lichen it is what it is
Always wait when you can wait
@torn token so basically there will be 3 sata ports for upgradability
For either new HDDs or new 2.5in SSDs
So I can only put in sata ssds for upgrades lol. Got the specific motherboard?
Thanks lol :3
Does anyone know the name of this piece? I cannot find it anywhere. It gives power to my RGB board on my pc. Mainly for the RGB of the fans.
I canโt find the damn thing anywhere
which is better for 64gb ram a (4x16) or (2x32)?
@sleek sundial top fans are upside down
quad channel support>< dual channel support
and the pump should not be higher up than radiator
its for MSI MEG X570 GODLIKE, sorry for caps it was a copy-paste
edit vids for my dad and and some hard gaming
64 tho
would be fine with 32
but its up to you
got the money sure but imo ion think you need 64
With editing 64 wouldn't really be needed tbh. You'd be fine with 32GB
trying to make it last for a very long time
yea
I mean you can go with 64GB but I think 32GB will be fine for quite a while.
I'd say 4x16 3600mhz cl16
If you got no budget go for 64GB
because it's hard to get 2x32 3600c16, it's mostly 2x32 3600c18
Yup
cpu can only handle 3200 tho
What CPU?
that new Ryzen 9 5000 right?
My case and cpu came
You can enable DOCP and it allows it to run at 3600.
hm?
ohhh
Any Zen 3 CPU will do fine with 3600mhz
I need my mf uh mobo ram and gpu
AMD actually recommends using stuff like 3600 MHz with 16 CAS Latency. It gets quite a bit more performance overall.
I think thats what i got
daum, i almost bottlenecked myself
Since my gpu hansnt even come out yet should i use the one i have in my current build and wait
Yeah, don't go for 3200 ahah
I got 3600 for sure
With a system with a $700 motherboard and probably like $600 CPU you won't want to cheap out on memory
You can use the old GPU if you want
the mobo can handle it right?
Will it be bad bc its an r9 380
it seems a bit old
Cpu is a 3700x
3600 MHz? @tall wasp
3rd Gen AMD Ryzen Processors support DDR4 4800/ 4733/ 4600/ 4533/ 4400/ 4266/ 4133/ 4000/ 3866/ 3733/ 3600/ 3466/ 3200/ 3066/ 3000/ 2933/ 2800/ 2667 MHz by A-XMP OC MODE, and 3200/ 3066/ 3000/ 2933/ 2800/ 2667/ 2400/ 2133/ 1866 MHz by JEDEC
gets wackier especially with 4x16gb but yea
yeah just read it again
4 dual rank sticks
If i have 2 sticks of ram do i space them out for dual channel?
I mean you won't see the performance jump in terms of graphics. You will see the overall performance change though due to the CPU. Up to you if you want to wait or not.
Yes, your motherboard will have a manual.
ill prob just get 2x16 for now and get the other two later if nessecery
It shows you what slots to put them in depending if you have 4 or 2 sticks.
@fleet pagoda slots 2&4 or 1&3
Ok i probably will because i can just switch it out when i get the new one yeah
Yup
Alr alr ty
And ty also @cold jewel
No problem ๐
jeez i need to be here more often, im learning so much from here
@stoic island i might get a 1070 instead of a 5600xt because im not that into pc gaming yet and the prices are outrageous rn
your choice ยฏ_(ใ)_/ยฏ
Is the 1070 still good?
if you are not gonna be gaming then yeah... take this with a bag of salt cuz im still a hatchling when it comes to pc parts.
guys which is better: the rx570 or 10900k
does anyone know if i can mix ram if its the same specs?
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 PC4-25600 CL16 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit CMK16GX4M2D3200 - Black
Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 PC4-25600 CL16 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit CMW16GX4M2E3200C16 - Black
Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 PC4-25600 CL16 Dual Channel
highly recomend to not mix.
why
unless you know what you are doing
i have the rgb corsair vengeance but the vengeance lpx is a better deal rn
i wanted to do 2 sticks of both respectively
thank you guys ๐ im glad to know if theyre within the same specs it will run!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gh2Q61LWVA8 for example this person is doing a 4x8 with 2 different kits at 2 different speeds and cas latency
EDIT: Changed my mind making a list of all the part numbers is a pain so just watch the video.

#RAM #Overclock...
hm?
So I have a Asus rog strix b450-f, 32gb of ram, 3 or 4 case fans, 2 keyboards, 3 mice, and a 2tb sshd laying around as spare parts. Should I do a cheap budget build and sell or just sell the parts separately?
I'm thinking keep it until Asus announces which of their boards will get Zen 3
Because like a 5600x build with that would be pretty nice
@stoic island I have a x570 msi mpg rn
my info was based on a vid that i watched, but i cant send cuz yt is banned here? at least for me
gotta level up
f
bot doing anti-spam
I was thinking of getting a ryzen 5 3600 and a radeon 570 with a small cheap case
And just selling like that
Maybe a 500w smart psu too
hey i was looking for (2x16) and the CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 32GB (2x16) looks good. but the priceeeee
aight, ley me check
If you're looking for rgb ones, OLOy is decent, CL is a bit low compared to corsair, but I used to run a pair. They're pretty amazing for the price
Also, I wish the closest microcenter wasn't 3 hours away
me too
I saw they just got some radeon 6800XTs yesterday
those are 36mhz cas16 right?
well its 6 for me so ig ur lucky
@fossil halo I'm in Texas tho
i need help im getting a gpu and i wanna see what power connecters i have for it but i cant get my side panel off one of the turn off pins are stuck how can i get it loose?
idk j get a gt 710 or smth
takes all the power from pcie slot
no separate power connectors needed
passive cooling too
ok but do u know how i can get the pin loose
The newer higher end ones take 2 or 3 8 pins I believe
ok ty
will my pc bottleneck if i have a chonky cpu but a sht gpu
Probably
@stoic island
:)
Most likely
bc instead of @fossil halo im gonna be r7 3700x/gt 710/16gb very soon
no cuz like the gpu market rn is so dumb
Not really
all the good midrange gpus are out of stock
As long as you don't get newer gen your fine
What gpu do you want?
ive had a build like that before lol
no and like i wanted just to wait for the 3060 to come out
2700x/gt710/64gb
but i need a pc right now
My gpu was mid 400
bc my laptop is dead
400USD
yea
i mean u see
my friend got a 5600xt for 289
which is what its worth
and it looked really nice too
it was the msi gaming x one
drivers lul
but now even like a yucky one
Drivers?@hollow grail
what one
like chonky cpu and bad gpu
the 2700x?
yea
i put a 1080 in there and gave it to my mom
no as in like
Tbh, I'm never going to use nvidia GPUs
but it was fine for what i used it for
which was?
Too expensive
lmao amd gets bodied by nvidia 100% of the time
tru
and i used it as a vm host
but like amd gives mediocre to high performance for low price
Amd is more worth the price in my opinion
and my 60hz monitor doesnt see the difference between a 5600xt and a 3090
as long as ur ok with trash tier drivers yeah

Especially since the 6000 series has ray tracing now too
@hollow grail I don't have trash drivers
amd is usable but 6000 series gets destroyed by 3000
ay but lili actually tho
I've had only one issue with drivers and that's rn
like does the build work
But that's mostly MY fault
will it bottleneck or whatever that means idk
yeah it worked fine
i think thats when u have a bad cpu and a really good gpu right
the 2700x/gt 710
yea
it was just used for proxmox
tf is proxmox
and minor 2d acceleration
oh
switched to hyper v now though
is that supposed to be cpu intensive?
cuz i really j want something to run my monitor until i can get a 3060
too expanzive
$150 is too expensive?
my dad said max 50$ for a cheap display card
@little osprey pliers very smart ty man
@livid flame ๐
Reason: Bad word usage
bc im gonna end up paying like hella money for a 3060 later
@fossil halo $50 ain't getting you nothing
lmao it got me a gt 710
anything after polaris is godawful amd wise tho
Go on mercari and such, it'll probably be there for cheap
or 950
I got a $100 cpu fan for $25
It's $100 stock, got it for $25 off mercari
Well the r5s don't come with it so....
@stoic island wait what was the diff between the two. there are both the specs right? wondering why it was so much the the other. vengence vs ballistics
lmao imagine paying 100 for wraith prism
ikr
@tall wasp dram die
Ikr
100% not worth
i sell them for like $15
Ballistix has quite a bit better Micron E die
Much better
LOL
imo 25 was a scam too
with Corsair you get bargain bin memory >:P
i wouldnt have gotten it at that price is all
oh, i never thought about that
Well I couldn't find cheaper
i need to do more research
always better off getting nand from the oem
@hollow grail you should see what kind of hard drives I'm running tho lol
@fossil halo i'm pretty sure a gt 710 is worse than modern intel integrated graphics
L O L
lmaoooo yep
250gb/1tb samsung 970 evo plus nvme, 1tb 860 evo, 2tb 870 QVO, 2tb seagate external, 2tb segate sshd
why spend $50 on a downgrade
no igpu
ah F series?
Meh, it was what I could afford at the time
i use hgst only
ah i was going off of their name
I replaced them with the Evo and QVO
i forgot what drives i use uhhhhhh
i was just using a 1tb hp ex920 ssd
I'm now running the seagates externally
then my friend gave me a 6tb wd red hdd
I have roughly 8tb of storage
my main pc has a 970 pro 1tb, 2x 840 evo 1tb, and a 4tb wd blue
and for my homelab i have uhhhhh
i don't even know what to do with all of my storage
20x 3tb HGST enterprise sas drives, 18x 4tb HGST SAS drives, 4x 2tb Seagate FireCuda NVME ssds, and 4x 10tb WD reds
I got the EVO/QVO on Black friday
damn you can store a lot of cat pictures on that
yep
The last ones my best buy had for the next 4 days
oh bruh
theyre def my #2 pick for nvme
itll struggle on that
no u see its complicated
basically
my dads all like
oh u want to get a pc
ill pay for exverything excapt the gpu
I have a fix to that
that u have to
E A R N
Get a job
IM 14
Oof
tbh 99% of my computing is done on my chromebook nowadays
barely play games anymore
my parents made me work for everything i wanted when i was 13, and here you are complaining about your dad paying several hundred dollars towards your own gaming rig?
^tbh
yeah lmao
i got school laptops only until i was old enough to work for them
spoiled brat
then i had to work for my school laptops too
preach
I had to sneak my computer parts thru my bedroom window to build my desktop
lol
my parents would punish me by confiscating stuff that i paid for in full
got my first job at 14
My parents don't cause I'm paying 90% of the bills rn including electricity
lmao chad
yeah when i had a job i worked for everything i own
They threaten to take something, I threaten to shutoff electric
lmao chadd
only thing my dad gave me was beatings
omg im so sorry bleach
@little osprey more spoiled kids
They can't really confiscate or ground me
ow typing hurts rn

i legit cannot even fathom being pissed that your dad is only giving you a couple hundred dollars for gaming
tbh
shut up coomer
i didnt finish
yes u did
Nobody cares lol
k bro
My first PC was a dual core intel that my dad took a hammer to because one of my grades fell below 80
bruh
yoooo same
And I payed $500 for that laptop
smashing your kid's stuff is a really great way to make sure they put you in the worst nursing home possible and don't visit you

oh true
I spent another $300 upgrading storage and ram
have told my own parents they better pray
So am $800 laptop and he took a hammer to it
bruh
that i dont get to pick the nursing home
theyre going to cazy ed's old timey folks home
shouldnt they live with u
@hollow grail what nursing home, just leave them on the street
based
LOL
im not that mean though
When I move out, my parents are screwed
they raised me
I'm paying 90% of the bills rn
at what age
19
move in with me and pay 90% of my bills
oof thats rough
jeez thats rough
My dad's in jail and my mom shouldn't even be working
@hollow grail can i bring my cat?
tf is that
what i have
used to have a full rack
was so nice being able to throw 256+ threads at stuff
oh like the sht they have at like data centers and stuff
yep
damn
damn
Ok so I figured out the issue I'm having with my drivers and gpu
One of my games is set to run off AMD mantel which doesn't exist anymore, but to change it I need to launch the game
over 30k msrp
wow thats smort
i also have access to 10gbps internet and metered 40gbps internet
and then theres me failing 9th grade bio
wow thats a cute cat
my child
ok u can move in
but he gotta pay 90% of the bills
omw
i will suck ur soul out of your body

lol
will a anthlon ge 200 bottleneck a rx 550 4ggb
no
@fossil halo i just calculated my monthly pay and what i pay towards bills. between all that i only get to keep $70 a month
ok ty
yeah, im hopping my car doesnt die, because if it does, itll be the engine. and the engine alone, not counting labor, is almost $3000
i would, but i dont have the tools to do that
i dont even have the tools to remove the engine
drop the transmission, tear it apart, then lift the engine up out of the engine bay
and thats it put simple
u near cali sal?
Texas
o nvm lmao
yea he said earlier
i did some favors for an auto shop
tbh, the engine would total my car, insurance wise
30 minutes away at a atv/motocycle repair shop
gosh
yeah, 20 miles away
and 30 minutes is on a good day
once it took me 1.5 hours to get home
the pains of adulthood
do you have any relatives nearby?
bruh
i mean like
my relatives are like
5000 miles away i think
8438 miles*
but there is the internet tho right
like maybe you can learn a new skill off the internet or smth
idk i probably sound insensitive rn i dont mean to be
any quality/cheap thermal paste?
arctic mx-4
When I buy a processor like AMD or INTEL, they normally come with their coolers and fans right ?
amd stock paste is good
I could just be unlucky with intel
depends on which cpu you actually end up getting, most lower end ones come with a stock cooler
is the 5900x worth?
question, i got a gpu that when i plug it into my monitor all i get is a black screen.
if you need 12 cores, yes
what should i do?
@urban oyster did you connect power cables and display ports
yeah.
Iโm trying to get a AMD Ryzen 5 3600 at a good price
Not 300
3600 comes with stock cooler
but my problem is i need to downgrade my gpu.
Did you clear old gpu drivers?
Really?? Last month I think I saw it at like 240ish
In amazon
@pulsar crag well think black friday is ending and so stock is low
Old drivers would
hm?
And I waited for this weekend to see if I could get a sweet price and they are either sold out or $300+
R5 3600 should be 200$ flat
its got no drivers on it right now i believe.
old drivers mess things up sometimes, but not in this case
@pulsar crag supply and demand I guess
For sure
yea
better than the 3600 for gamin
If you want a 5 3600 I'm thinking of replacing mine. Lmao.
I'm joking btw
All the ones I want are sold out
@pulsar crag https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086MHSH2C
sucks that the 3600 is unavailable, but this would be better than paying 300+ for a 3600
will a anthlon ge 200 bottleneck a rx 550 4gb
The ryzen 7 2700 is under $300
Im not building it for gaming, im building a trading computer
Yes another user recommended that i5
It's basically a 5 3600
Looks sweet too
will a anthlon ge 200 bottleneck a rx 550 4gb
There's also a 5 2600 for 184
what are basically the best fans?
@livid flame I'm sure that has been answered already
noctua
i dont even know what kind of hardware you need for something like that. would cpu speed even make a difference? would that kind of operation even use more than one core?
@pulsar crag trading pc needs good singlethread
Noctua, corsair(though a bit pricey), and be quiet fans
i need more opinions 1 person says it will and another says it wont
intel still kills it
this question is too ambiguous, there is no answer
oh
and my answer to @livid flame is dont buy a rx 550 lol
rx550 is bad buy regardless
all i can get now
Lowest I'd go is 570 lol
are you trying to get one new?
550 is awful value for $
yes
polaris isnt worth buying new
umm
just dont
check ebay for some RX 580s
Radeon 570 is around $150
85$
580 would be better though
Iโve watched some YouTube videos and read a lot that a cpu with 6 cores is the sweet spot if youโre trying to run multiple trading programs
i paid 82 for my RX 470 like 2 years ago
wow
I had an 8gb gigabyte Radeon 570 and it cost me $150
@pulsar crag ive literally built a few trading pcs
so you are running multiple programs at the same time?
you want intel then to overclock the snot out of it
@viral ore trading pcs are like 99% singlethread only
Yes basically 2 or 3
u need hella clockspeed for trading
So AMD is a no go for you, you recommend intel?
at least if hes serious about it
for trading, yes
get a k series cpu
and either you do it or pay someone to overclock it to the max
puget systems will bin a cpu for you if you want to go with them
or look for a golden sample core i9
singlethread is king still for trading applications
i dont think hes that serious about trading
A user yesterday recommended me this build for trading. Would you agree? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Dxgx9N
yeah me neither, i just try to give the best advice for certain workloads
let me look
whats budget?
all intel have ipu
yeah that build is awful
yes pls
ill redo it for you but i need budget
Like 1,000. I was going to get another video card but I need 4 monitors and the card I was going to get has only display ports and the monitors I already have only have HDMI ports
And that card supports 4 HDMI
something abt the lack of hyperthreading makes me feel like my 8700k is gonna age way better than a 9700k
oh only $100?
no, most have iGPU, but not all
1000*
f suffix doesn't
i mean all the i ones do right
oh
ok
idk intel i only really researched ryzen
which i now regret
Maybe I can stretch it a liitle more but with the research Iโve done, Iโve read that video cards are not so important for trading other than making sure it supports the monitors you want. That the most important things are processor and ram
But again, Iโm a beginner lol
i3-10100 is 4/8, boosts to 4.3
costs about 100 usd
only downside is ram speed, which is limited to 2666MT/s
idk how much that would hamper the software you are running
it might make no difference at all
@pulsar crag https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TKFL7X
for stock trading I'd prob think about like 10600k+z490 with some good ram and some mediocre GPU
@pulsar crag don't you have 4 monitors you need to power?
the extra 1ghz boost is not going to make that much of a difference, im certain
and its not worth the extra 430 dollars
@viral ore depends how serious it is
intel used to make chips almost just for stock traders
i dont know how its going to help
Sassy I feel like 1ghz will help
ยฏ_(ใ)_/ยฏ
yeah it will
help with what, exactly?
idk too much about how stock trading works honestly, but every client ive ever had has told me they need crazy single core
what calculations, its stock trading,
^
real time updates
i highly doubt the 1ghz is gonna make the difference
if u lose 5 seconds u could lose thousands
I believe it will.
once again, hes not gonna be daytrading for a living, yet
its not worth investing thousands
if its a job then i like the build i made him
a 10100 will be great to start on, and will continue to work
if its a hobby then yeah use whatever, if it starts making money go from there
If you're building a machine for trading, might as well invest enough for it to be viable for day trading
^^^
Yeah basically a lot charts and numbers
Basically 2d rendering
10400 if you need to save money
10900k is overkill for sure but its the best cpu for trading out there atm
i still feel like 4.3ghz on a modern architecture is enough for that
its not sassy
Yeah dudeee Im very serious about this
Reason: Bad word usage
oops
@pulsar crag what is the main software you plan to use, i would like to do some research
Iโve been trading with a bad computer for the past few months and Iโm tired
also are you on ethernet or wifi
i feel like ethernet would make the bigger difference
Look at this, tell me it doesnโt suck
o o f
yeah, 2400 is old
yeah that doesnt cut it at all lmao
My submission
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/YFfL7X
I currently trade on wifi but I think I can make the accommodations to make ethernet I think
what software @pulsar crag
that gt1030 model is a placeholder
let me ๐
I need to find the one with 4 hdmi ports
Mainly use three: Thinkorswim, Tastyworks, Trade Ideas
yea I thought gt1030 was the one with 4 hdmi ports
it was gt710
@hollow grail what
psu is optional though i just like BQ
and MP34 is better
you know what controller mp34 uses right
Phison E12
for cheaper than the a2000
i know like everyone uses phison e12
Hell, look at the speeds
TOS is a single threaded java application
and i know its faster
3000mbps read on the MP34
but tbh
2200mbps read on the A2000
So this processor would be overkill right ? The one you sent me first
team gets cheap nand
There is no reason for the A2000, it's worse speeds, worse, controller, for a higher cost
Uh they use Toshiba ram..?
and?
toshiba isnt the greatest out there
nand i know
it might tbh
it's pretty good
toshiba is okay for sure but id rather micron
and you know they get worse binned nand than corsair does
@hollow grail you are aware that model over brand applies to things like nand too right?
100%
@pulsar crag this is a system that will run pretty much 24/7 right?
Somehow Nand bin that you can't get data for is affecting this comparison in favor of the A2000?
..?
honestly I've just had good experience with that drive and its alright for the price
Yess
but im not gonna die on this hill
lol
if you think the team ssd is better than use the team ssd
ive been wrong before and im prolly wrong again
A2000 is decent but here, MP34 is just better in every quantifiable way I can see
thats true
i just have my one decent drive i like to stick with for budget stuff
but the mp34 looks better 100%
So if I have a lot of threads theyโre basically doing nothing ?
yep
but, you are running the other 2 as well
i cant find much on them
Exactly
ah i see
I would think theyโre basically the same thing
the other thing im thinking of is power consumption
cause ideally youd want to push the chip as far as it can go on that oc
like, a 10600k that boosts slightly higher than the 10100 is cool and all, but its gonna cost more to run 24/7
im telling you right now the odds this person actually overclocks is slim to none
that too
oh if ur not overclocking then
yeah listen to sassy lol
i dont think its a good idea to not oc but if u dont want to you dont want to
overclocking is cool and all, but the price you end up paying in the long run wouldnt be worth it
especially looking at power consumption
Well not Sundays or Saturday, market not open there jaja
the difference in real world performance between 4.3 and the 4.8 on the 10600k is so minimal its not even worth considering, also think about dealing with the advertised 125w TDP of the 10600k
So basically Monday through Friday for the rest of my years
true sassy
once that sucker heats up, will it still be boosting to 4.8? doubt it
I mean
so now youre paying for a decent cooling solution
So sassy u think this one?
yeah if no oc then the gammaxx is fine 100%
i still believe the 10600k is truly overkill
With the 710
yea change the GPU out and I say that's good
yep
oh, but 32gb of ram is worthwhile from what ive read
What would you say is the sweet spot then
Yeah I was thinking that too, considering Iโm not going to spend a lot in video card, that I would spend it in ram
what resolution are your displays btw?
tbh, the 10100 and the 10600k at stock will perform roughly the same for what your doing, that 0.5 ghz boost clock wont do enough for you, especially considering the increased cost of ram and the motherboard
I mean
increase ram and mobo cost is something I would spend for either way
So youโre saying a i5-10100?
im saying the i3 10100
It's a fair option, I personally would rather 10600k, but if you need to save that money, it's definitely viable.
here, ill do a list, and you can compare it with the other
yea
:)
:))
The thinkorswim recommendations say i7 but thatโs pretty vague right
thats the most vague statement they could possibly make
By the way, Sassy, we could use iGPU on top of graphics card maybe
igpu supports 3 displays
Meh, I might consider it but I think 4 is my sweetspot. Why do you say it sir
if you could live off of three, you wouldnt need an extra gpu
Why do I need an extra GPU, isnโt this one of 4 sufficient ?
the cpu already has a GPU baked in
@pulsar crag We're talking about you can live off the iGPU that's built into the CPU, without even needing to buy that.
Ohh
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ is this. A good build
Wrong link :)
plus, if you even do need more monitors, slapping in an extra GPU is easy
Use this
So the GPU in the i5 automatically supports 3 hdmi monitors ?
do they have to be hdmi?
most boards come with a DVI, DP and HDMI, so you would need some adapters, but its all just a digital signal, so it wouldnt make a difference
I like that PSU parametric selection, might be missing the good bitfenix PSUs tho
anyways
i cant see anything wrong with that build @little osprey
yeah
