#building-and-recc-chat

Alrighty thank you
Including Monitor+Kb+M+Headset?
No
When building
Ok
I'm going to go now, if no one else makes you a list for like 5min, @ hei, and I'll be on tomorrow morning
Looking to buy the new amd 5950x for my next build, I was wondering what mother board can I use with it ?
i would check the supported memory list once you pick a specific board, but chances are it will work
Thank you
@outer folio this prob aint the super perfect list someone else would make but its prob worth looking at https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tkpGGq
its $1,200 but has room for a 5600x
too much on mobo, 3600 cl16 ram instead, wasted money on fans u dont need
wait does the case come with fans?
i only added those as a lil extra i didn't check
hol up
a lil much on ram and psu
too high price?
i mean as far as i know the only approved psu in this server is corsair rmx series and for ram idk what brand/model ram is approved
so
that ram is overpricced
wtf does that mean?
lmao that everyone here seems to have insight on what the best and the worst are
cuz i mean what i would like to send over is this
ok first
but idk if 80+ bronze is safe for the eyes of this chat
and idk if ripjaws is good enough
that list is bad
for ram
what should i throw in then?
all nvidia is overpriced rn and everyone hates current amd
ah so 5700xt is acceptable
nice
didn't know that
just make a list
would have put it in otherwise
stop asking is this acceptable
If the list is bad we'll revise it
stop guessing if this part is " acceptable" and just make a list lol
.......
i only through in a BR bc i personally use one and haven't ever had problems
that list is really overpriced
bruh
ok
didn't know hdds and 1tb ssd were for the rich lol
my bad
ig a $90 case is too much too
well if i had to cut down on storage to get a better gpu i will
same applies to case
Yes but I would use something like a antech neo eco gold
yeah i was iffy on psu
br is reliable enough for me
Ya but there are better options
ofc there is always the 5 ppl who give a 0 star review for every psu bc they received a defective unit even though literally no unit is rated for 100% efficiency
??
ik there are better options but apparently every other option is too much xd
I'm saying that there are better options for the same price
well i thought the corsair rm was good bc lots of ppl suggest it but iggggggg not
maybe
Or are you just being like this to annoy me
okay understanding what
i dont get what you are trying to make me understand that i dont understand
that components r overpriced?
Any good 144hz or above monitors for a good price? Been looking but idk if I am looking at overpriced ones
that i could cut more elsewhere to put in a better gpu?
specter makes some good cheap ones
@gritty zenith less hdd
Cheaper case
cheaper psu
no extra fan
i was told to never skimp on psu so i fear ever going below gold on a non appraised psu
bruh
specter makes some good cheap ones
@little leaf alright thanks
What ever I'm just gonna leave before I get more annoyed
im not trynna annoy
i legitimately thought that was like super high on priority list was not to cheap out on psu
so whenever i cut corners i dont touch the psu
I am saying
hdd i understand
Send your list again? Lemme see if I can help.
i was sending a list trynna help someone out who asked for one
but i chose every component wrong so
never doin that again lol
@little leaf did you mean scepter?
never doin that again lol
@gritty zenith yeah I tried to get help on my setup earlier and people snapped at me like I was some idiot
yeap
Some people are snobs in this cord
n then ppl get annoyed when you say that you don't know what is acceptable or approved here

they're just making sure you get what's best for your money don't worry folks
So is there anyone that can tell me which build is better out of my two?
some people go about it dif ways
Just state your budget and they can try to work with that
and use case
Like if I send links to my part list can someone tell me which ones the better one?
i personally have only ever built out of used parts i know i am getting at a hell of a deal so
and region
Ig not
Dang
They’re to different builds but same price
For the most part they’re the same except for ram and gpu
just send them someone will help
i can with 100% confidence say that your choice of storage was a little off
you could get an nvme m.2 of the same capacity for a better price than that sata ssd
You’d need a case that is for a micro ATX motherboard
You probably know that but just a reminder
well you can have an atx case
ez just get a mitx motherboard and you can build in whatever case you want**
I have 2 different cases here for it at my house
most mid tower atx cases will fit have places to put ur matx standoffs
mitx motherboards generally cost more than matx (correct me if i’m wrong )
Ok so for the most part the build looks good?
ofc with the switch to a nvme m.2
So do I mainly for color scheme it matches more
yeah the second list is better
loggin off hav fun
Ok thanks you
idk much about amd gpu’s so i can’t comment on that
they're supposed to be fine now
other than that if you were to go nvidia in that build, a 1660s would be nice
That AMD is solid for that price range
careful though some people dont like that gpu here
yeah i heard that amd used to have gpu driver problems
I thought the 5600xt was better than the 1660 tho
but i think that they’re resolved now
yeah
jus for future reference refer to some benchmarks to see what’s better
Ok thanks I’m buying the parts sometime next month
like jus search up 1660s + 3600 benchmark and 5600xt + 3600 benchmark
Ok
i need a second person to run my future build througj
rtx 3070 or amd equivalent
i7-9700k
asus z390 tuf plus gaming motherboard
16 gb 3200mhz ram
lan li lancool 215 x case
Switch the RAM to 16GB 2x8 sticks at the same speed.
looks p good
if youre not building yet, i would wait for amd official benchmarks
I bought one of those two days ago.
oh i'm using the 9700k because i found one for 200
itll fit
no
a 3600 is enough for a 3070, the 9700k is fine
if you oc, you can come close to 10700k performance
yup
PSU Tier List 4.0 rev. 14.4 Last Update: 10-09-2020 Gold - best units in the tier (includes requirements for blue color in tier A) Blue - quiet operation under moderate load Green - small form-factor See spreadsheet for changelog, methodology, detailed description of colors, s...
this will help you pick out a psu
ok thanks
whats your budget on psu jus curious
😐
i want to finish the build as fast as possible because i basically all the parts coming besides the 3070
its in the a tier so it should be good, but the seasonic one is solid
it's my first pc build and i decided to go mid-high range because at this point you won't really need to upgrade until it breaks
but the psu you picked is a tier so you can get that too
i doubt my 3070 equivalent will be unable to run games in 5 years
imo amazon has a nicer return policy if things go wrong so it might be better
or maybe even 10 tbh
hmm
okay thank you
i was planning to go to microcenter this monday so
and gl with the 3070
ive been trying to get the 3080 since launch date at 6am lmao
yea, they jus sell out instantly
i heard the 3070 has less stock than the 3080
and if you get a chance to add it to your cart then the website is freezing
if they have less than the 3080 then its gg lmao
3080s didnt last 1 second no joke
literally hit 6am, all websites crashed
then everything sold out
oh man
theres hope tho
i've never bought a graphics card before
some ppl in general chat eventually got a card
i didnt know it was that bad
somehow its the same ppl who manage to get a card lmao
they all had more than 1 at one point
mmm
they werent reslling at crazy prices
but if you consider someone who buys a card jus to sell then yea
i really don't wanna wait until december to finish my build ;-;
or even later
i thought id be fine camping bestbuy for the 3070fe refresh the whole day
do they have a 1 per person thing yet
does any website have it
where did you look
if i signed up for it would i get a space rn
Is Newegg good? I’m new to PCs
i didnt really look into it
hmm
imo, newegg is good but their return policy n stuff could be nicer
i feel like amazon is the gold standard rn
like you cant jus simply click cancel order sometimes and you have to call them up n stuff
i found out that pc parts prices fluctuate a lot on webs
with the pandemic and demand for parts, its pretty bad rn
so you should look out for that if youre trying to buy parts
So if i were to get a pc during cyber Monday do you know what would be the best place to look? Amazon? Newegg?
a prebuilt ?
for a prebuilt?
No I’m building
typically newegg has more options
but it doesnt hurt to cmpare prices etc
for me, if newegg and amazon have close or same prices, i jus go off amazon
i think blackfriday has its own website
i think cybermonday should have it too if bf has one
I made a part picker and plus i have prime so yeah I’ll look for prices and availability during cyber Monday
so you can check deals
but a lotta of ppl in here are like strictly newegg lmao
it is a newegg chat so im not surprised
ya
Yeah
i was thinking about just getting a prebuilt for my first pc
I joined solely off the fact that i need pc advice because this is the first pc I’m ever getting
this server is really nice for that
Yeah fr
i just joined a few mins ago
i joined a long time ago bc a giveaway but didnt start talking tilrecently tbh
I haven’t went on Reddit for pc advice just to post clips
after that nothimg
I joined for pc advice and a giveaway
But I’m not going to win that giveaway so ig joining for pc advice is good
with robeypc or something
i stopped entering giveaways lmao
i mean
Yeah i mean it’s like no chance but i just want to try yk
it wastes 4 mins of my time
Yeah fr lmao
i would waste 4 mins for a 0.01 percent chance to win 3000 dollar pc
Not even close to .01 percent LMAOO
LMAO A LOT LESS
Fr
like ive never seen someone tweet "o look at thsi pc i won from a giveaway"
but i saw somewhere that faking giveaways is illegal
its hard to prove that someone faked a giveaway
and my family members have won a ton of small giveaways
i trust smaller giveaways more lowkey
It’s actually a .000073 percent chance rn for people that put in all 17 entries. Because 17/230,000 is 0.000073913043478
So there’s no chance
as long as its not 0
thats the spirit
i put in 17 entries
I put in 16 entries
did you change your pfp bc you were instantly asked about it lmao ?
who
@gentle mica
Yeah i changed it
kinda a weird first impressions of the server
Which one was it
instantly asked if that was u
wait what
In general
I had a pfp of my friend and this kid asked me if i was her
I just went with it🤷
she/he typed for llike the first time and got asked if they were the person in the pfp
Yeah
im gonna sleep, i got classes tomorrow
im so excited for my first build
i feel like a little kid
lmao
imagine if they came into chat jus as u sent it
I’m just not sleeping at this point
tragic
i cant sleep im so hyped
Scary
dont worry
I wanna just smash a 3090
its the same hopes i have for winning that giveaway
Like just do a drop test
you have the same chances as winning that pc
satisfying?
Eh just to post it everywhere and make people ask why i wasted like 1,500 or however much it is
i guess that is the new asmr
smashing the thing that everyone wants
Which I’m not happy for but yk every new thing has disadvantages
Same
im getting a rtx 3070
I mean i use it for more than just gaming
My 5 year old Xbox doesn’t hold up with the 60 FPS it that
;-;
Runs*
i bought my xbox in 2014
I swear it’s bouts die
the og black
Same bro
thats what im upgrading from
It’s like 6 years old now
Yeah I’m getting a $750 dollar pc but it’s more cuz of cyber Monday and a Xbox series s
lowkey i would ditch the xbox series s
So prolly around 900 pc
and get a 1000 pc
my build is with a i7-9700k and a 3070
and its 1200
with tax
I only have 750 so ima just get the series s for Christmas cuz im 13😳
A years worth of cutting lawns
Plus i didn’t get an extra 120 cuz i broke my back a month ago
I play mainly siege, cod, minecraft, rl
broke your back mowing lawns?
Nah football
Yeah i didn’t play in 1 game
i was about to say
Sucks
imagine
Yeah fr breaking your back mowing lawns
Carsonroids95
alright
What do you play?
also you do know that you can use the xbox interface when you get a pc right
Yeah
so games with cross play you can still join xbox party with your pc
and use lfg
oh ok
hmm
i mostly used to be a Destiny 1 speedrunner
then mostly moved to free games like cod warzone and fortnite
and recently a tiny bit of rl
I’ve never played the game mainly because i didn’t play much when destiny 1 came out
Yeah i got into rl recently
I got banned from parties on mw
yeah its not that good of a game anymore after they stopped updating
and d2 is kind of not fun
My name was kobedeservedit and i got banned which made my name user1727371881 and i made my clan tag [kidab] so it was [kidab] user
I thought it was clever until i got banned again and i can’t go in parties anymore
whats your build
yeah i dont really have money to spare on games
ill just stick to free games till i finish my setup
Yeah
Someone made that for me
If you have any recommendations on what to change or anything you can tell me
hey :).
Hello
i just got into pcs and I started a part list wanted to see if anyone could review it:)
yeah sure show
i'm not that knowledgable for pc buildint i know an adequate amount
@clever sonnet is the Crucial P1 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive
I was also thinking if i got a 2tb hard drive for my main storage then a 240 gb ssd to run windows and stuff on. Would you recommend just the 1tb ssd or
azy i would get an at least 128gb ssd to put windows on it
it really depends how much storage you want though
like can you not spend even one more dollar
i really only play a few games like fort rl apex and brawlhalla and I’d use it for school
yea pls recommend
I can spend around $750
if you don't need much space go with a ssd
ok
if you need mild space for other stuff get a 128gb ssd and a hdd for whatever size
also if you want price/performance i would go with an intel cpu
ssds are a ton faster
but cost more per gb
yea I noticed they’re more expensive
I might just go with the 1tb ssd and if i ever need more I’ll get an HDD
What intel cpu should I get?
basically you want a ssd as a boot drive so you can start up windows faster and your pc will just overall be faster
if you want to overclock you should go with a K series cpu
May i ask what overclocking is and what you get from it?
but you would have to change the motherboard to be compatible with it
basically you get more performance
but you probably want someone who knows what they're doing so you dont fry your cpu
yea I probably won’t over clock
its like giving your cpu more power so it runs better
idk i dont know much but the performance goes up
So is the pc part picker i have good for its price?
but it has to be a K series
And I’ll get a 1tb ssd
for intel only*
hmm
well the i5-8600k has similar performance but is overclockable
but if you switch to that you will need to switch over to a LGA-1151 motherboard because its from a different generation
yours is a 10th gen cpu with is LGA 1200
So what motherboard do you recommend
also you don't want to go cheapo with the motherboard if you plan to overclock
hm idk
i don't know much but the one i'm going with for my build is the ASUS Z390 tuf plus gaming
at 158 dollars
its pretty decent for overclocking and some other stuff
Z490 because i don’t see a 390
Oh the one i have is i5-10400
i was saying that 10400 gives similar performance to the 8600k but the 8600k is overclockable
I don’t think I’ll be over locking
k then yeah stick with your build
imagine intel accidentally revealing a new mobo called the x570
oh wait
i thought you were being sarcastic
XD
as if the new mobo would be an insanely awesome choice
So this build is all good as it is? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zgGcYg
azy tbh i dont see anything wrong with that but i'm not very educated in terms of electronics so you should run it by someone who knows what theyre doing
hey man - im looking
ok:)
AMD already has an x570 mobo. That's the joke @clever sonnet
thank you for your help earlier:))
oh yeah i searched that up and thats what i saw, funny thing is i was confused because the rating is so low
im not versed in pc parts so i wont get any jokes 😅
also hey man that looks pretty decent but i saw a 1660S too, idk the difference but you should decide between the two
Hello i am looking for a build with the new 3070 and the new ryzen cards coming up
Ok
Ok just keep this mind i want it for gaming most of the time and for video recording
maybe sometimes streaming
@gritty zenith well that was a fun convo you had last night
to put simply
there are no simply "accepted" parts here
It's the cheapest decent part at any time.
For example, EVGA BR is good enough, and since it's one of the cheapest PSUs, we tend to go for that for lower budgets.
While we will use RMx/Amp/Revolution D.F./Focus GM/GX for higher budget lists at say around 1500$
@neon condor you should show us the inside of that baby
@polar python ha I’m looking for the saaame
Mm I haven’t really done any research on that yet, but I’ll probably get rid of my tv in my room for the monitor
@lime forge why are you having so much trouble with the 1100 price point?
does it have to hit it 100%
debating whether to go with 3600xt & b450-f or 3600x & b550-f
imo 550
but again, i like to build for the long term
i know its 30 usd above
(and yes, the specific GPU is just a placeholder)
im also going slow because im making the list while doing online school lol
anyways thanks for the list
ill take a look at that
there should be plenty of room to adjust it below
aye aye, was just curious if you had hit a specific stumbling block or something :)
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/82wzYg What you guys think ignore the case Im getting a different one
@idle compass ur grossly overpaying for a lot of things.
is that a serious build?
I think so.
thats for them to answer.
mk sure
but in the meanwhile
@idle compass 2080 super isn't worth 1300$. You don't need to pay that much money for 32 gb of ram... for that price, pick up a 360 mm aio. wait for zen 3 on CPU and get RTX 3000 for gpu. that monitor is good tho, highly rc it... I would wait for a sale however.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/F7t8Yg heres a quick list of changes and that 3600x is a 5600x

@arctic jungle I might get a rtx 3080 from ebay for like 14 hundred but otherwise i heard they wont be in stock until 2021 i cant wait till then
-_-
2021 is only 2 months away...
you can get a placeholder gpu like an rx 580 or a 16 series gpu for 100-200$
Even when they do come in stock it will probably be the same story
@arctic jungle you scaring me with that realization
or evga step up
What good gpu should I get until I can upgrade to rtx 3080
Ok
it'll do 1080p gaming just fine until u get ur hands on a 3080.
If i have a $1000 budget, what should i build
rtx 3070 + r5 3600
ight
Toaster i got a pretty good build for around 1K
I can show you my specs, but if you want you can get a cheaper gpu depending on what you want
ok
yours is way above his budget @copper stag
I upgraded my pc!!!!!!!
@neon condor
How's your 3080 thermals in that sleeper case?
I went from an 8600k, to a 9700k, and from a 1660 ti to a 2060
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WrTJ8J
Is this decent for the price and any changes? I already have a case and 1 tb ssd.
Ryzen 5 3600
Amd Radeon Sapphire Pulse RX 5700 XT
16 GB Vengeance Ram
1TB SSD (any, preferably samsung)
2TB HDD Seagate Barracuda
ROG Strix B550-F Motherboard
Seasonic GX-850 power supply
And NZXT H150 case
If you get a cheaper GPU, power supply, and maybe a 500 GB SSD instead, you could probably make it around 1-1.1K
@foggy hazel guess what!!!!
I found the M.2 screw 😂😂
well done :)
and that list of yours would need a change on everything except the cpu to hit that budget with parts you actually want.
It was so magical. My water bottle fell and the screw fell with it I was like 😨
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WrTJ8J
Is this decent for the price and any changes? I already have a case and 1 tb ssd.
@little osprey it is bang for the buck indeed, but you may want to switch the ssd to a 1 tb ssd
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wxyXPV here's a decent list around a thousand for whoever needed it
@frigid kelp see the list that @vital warren just posted above
@slim zealot I already have a portable 1tb ssd with nothing on it but i want to get the 240mb to download windows and important stuff just in case the 1tb gets unplugged accidentally
ok
@vital warren tysm :DDDD
no
3070 or 3080
3060 will most likely come, but we dont know when
Ok
if you can wait, then at the end of this month, we will have the new AMD cards revealed
(this will give us an idea about what nvidia might need to compete etc)
Someone in the PCPP server told me to get the Intel build over the AMD build.
I can wait.
I won't be buying the PC until the end of the month.
So I have an older Asus pc with a GeForce GTX 980 card with an i7 3rd gen processor, 8 gigs of ram and a 64 bit system. Games are becoming slow and laggy so i was looking at upgrading my processor and my graphics card to somehing newer, will i be able to just swap them out for lets say if i upgrade to an i9 processor, will my motherboard be fine or will i need to upgrade that too? or should i just look at a new tower
no
im pretty sure that theyre gonna be different sockets
new is the sane way to go about things
new tower or just upgrades?
i figured my things may be too out of date around 7-9years old so i may need to get just a new tower
you got a ssd or?
ssd
is that a yes or no?
solid state drive
New eggg can I pls have. A AMD cpu
talk with Jaklo has been taken to DM
lol
Can someone make me a insane pc part picker list?
Like 10,000
@high creek why?
oof
I need it for scientific reasons
if you are just bored, please go read a book
Alright I must find it my self
Which one should I get?

@wheat axle mainboard, ssd, cooler are the most obvious
ah i see
@wheat axle https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/hqPXPV
those 3 changes help a fair deal
can i use one of my old hdds in one of my new builds?
@foggy hazel I wont lose a lot of perfomance right?\
also thank u!
and could i then go with a matx case?
@cursive haven yes you can
k thx
but make sure that, if you have an ssd, youre not using your hdd to boot up to your os
aye, you can go with a matx case, but be aware of the length of the 3080 cards. some of them are very long.
and no, you wont loose performance @wheat axle
oh ok thanks!
@buoyant flame Max GPU temp after 20 min load was 79C.
That's what the inside looks like.
Nice
How do i tell if my motherboard is faulty
replace your mobo with another one
Could you tell us your problem?
I had everything plugged in and i have no signal
i took it out of my case to troubleshoot and from what i can tell at least i think its the motherboard
Do you have the psu plugged in and the switch on?
and where is your monitor plugged in?
graphics card
all psu cables connected?
and the latches are engaged on all of them?
Yeah
remember. latch engaged = vertical line
The latch is what locks it in right?
aye
yeah the latches are engaged
Yeah
you flipped the switch on the PSU?
Yup
the actual motherboard turns on and everthing works
its only that there’s no signal
going to ask again. when you say its plugged into the GPU (monitor that is)
you are certain about that right?
100%
I plugged it with display port straigjt into my gpu
i even trued on board graphics and still no signal
tired*
(i ask, because i have lost count over the decades about people claiming they did that, and they plugged it into the mainboard instead)
what mainboard model? and what cpu?
side note: onboard wont ever work on that, no integrated gpu :)
give me a sec to lookup your board :)
Ah ok i was trying to find out about that
Alright
I’m thinking of probably getting a replacement board, so you think that’s the best option
Pretty sure there is a debug light on that board
There is an orange light right next to my ram
aye, i am checking for that now
i can’t tell whether it’s for the cpu or my ram
2sec
so a ram problem
for dram
Take out one of the sticks of ram
which slots are you plugged into?
counting from the cpu right?
yes
should i send pictures
My first build as well
There is still an orange dram light with only 1 stick in the second slot
Put the other stick in that same slot and see if you get the same light
what he said :)
already done
the orange dram light is still there
it just went red for a second
twice now
and again
its switching from red and orange
red is cpu
That means you have a faulty stick of ram
yes, but you still have a faulty stick (it looks like)
I will plug in the other stick to see if it’s only that one and then if it doesn’t work i will replace it
thank you
you are very welcome, and best of luck :)
Anyone know where I could get a Ryzen 5 3600 used and works perfect ?
no now is not a good time to get a 2070s since the 3070 is at about the same price range
and i would get a better psu
oh I just forget that my case has 4 fans and the cpu comes with a fan
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wxyXPV since it seems you're spending a thousand i'll leave this here nate
ok i'm getting a 1tb nvme and planned on getting a 970 evo, but what are some good alternatives? (don't say sn750 please)
crucial p1?
mp34
@cursive haven Another thing about that build is that's pretty nice ram but the mobo only supports 2666
yea mp34 was what ive been thinking
alright guys honestly whats the difference between the curcial p1 and p2 i feel like sometimes the p2 is cheaper is it any better or worse than the p1?
ah ok thanks mate
oh and does vrm matter or are they unnecessary?
@cursive haven Another thing about that build is that's pretty nice ram but the mobo only supports 2666
@quasi snow do you have any suggestions for another mobo under $80
wait @cursive haven whats ur budget for the build
like 750-800
ok
mines just is over bc of windows and the montior
but im prob gonna get windows offf ebay
This one seems pretty good
And then get 3200 ram instead of the 3600 you have in there now
This is if you switch to a ryzen like other people have suggested
ok
wait no nvm i thought i put two graphics cards
That's a good build yeah
wouldn't i need a wifi adapter
wait do you need wifi
lemme see if i can do sum about it
i jus changed the motherboard to one with wifi
So, am new. Which is better 2060 or a 1660 super?
ok
So, am new. Which is better 2060 or a 1660 super?
@storm carbon im pretty sure i saw a vid on a comparison on both, and based on that id say the 2060
Kk. Thank you.
just further on that, currently 1660 super is like $250 at its cheapest and rtx 2060 can be had at like $300 sometimes a little less which id say is worth for the extra fps + ray tracing support
One im looking at is ~340
yeah look elsewhere prob
340 is too high for a 2060? Or did you think i meant the 1660?
Sorry I should have been more clear
this is good
the only $300 one that is brand new is the gigabyte mini itx version, and i haven't tested that one yet, and knowing its form factor id say its limited in comparison so, that one is probably better
i personally dont think its worth the extra $20 for +15mhz boost clock
might want to throw that in #cpus-mobo-and-memory
Core clock is 1680 vs 1365. Does that matter? @gritty zenith
Probably lol. First time building a computer
1365 is core clock and 1680 is the boost clock
what card are you looking at though? because both of those cards reach a higher boost clock
The one im looking at is the 340. Has a core clock of 1680. The one you linked has a core clock of 1365
oh
At least according to pcpartpicker
mmm
lmao it does it say that it has a core clock of 1680
i know im checking elsewhere to see if it was a mistake
alright
checked both cards on gigabyte website
on the official website they both have a reference core speed of 1680, but the windforce oc has 1770mhz core clock according to them and the regular oc has 1755 core clock according to them
that is probably due to the fact that the fans on the regular oc are each 10mm smaller, thus a 15mhz smaller clock
which i personally don't think is worth the extra $20
So you'd go with the $320 version?
Okay. I don't know?
Mostly going to play ff14, with a few other titles. So...yeah I know nothing lol
At 320$ 2060 is good.
^
if you really don't care about ray tracing and want to squeeze out every last fps you could go with rx 5600xt
the sapphire pulse is said to be one of the best models of that card and is 297 on amazon right now + shipping
and the thicc version of that same card is 299.99
if he can save it a bit and get a 5700xt, itll be a huge jump
yeah
i play ffxiv and a few other things on a 5600XT and it's more than enough
but it depends on what those 'few other titles' are for you if something like a 5700XT would be a better bet
5600xt can even net you 30fps in 4k in some games lol if you really don't care to torture it
Radeon Pulse RX 5700 XT 8GB GDDR6 Graphics Card, PCI-Express 4.0, 1x HDMI and 3x DisplayPort, 1670MHz Base Clock
that's a spicy deal in my book
yea
o o f they r on backorder rip
i would either go with the red devil or sapphire card tbh
Mostly halo, l4d, few other older games. Thank you for your help in this though.
np
5600xt would crush those games lmao
You can probably go 5600 XT then, for under $300
ray tracing is not needed
ive used ray tracing once
and it was for the mc beta thingy
i dont think ray tracing is even worth until you are at 4k
and that's like rtx 3080
so like
nah
I don't have any care for 4k tbh
https://www.newegg.com/powercolor-radeon-rx-5600-xt-axrx-5600xt-6gbd6-3dhr-oc/p/N82E16814131760R it's open box, but it's $300 flat, free shipping
i really wanted a 3080, but after not being able to order it for like a month, im starting to realize i dont need it
there are gigabyte/msi/asrock versions for under $300, but they tend to lack in cooling performance compared to the sapphire/powercolor versions
If you dont feel like ordering it, you can check your local bestbuy for it
my bestbuy is stacked on rx cards and 1660s
Anyone know where I could get a Ryzen 5 3600 used and works perfect ?
I got mine on eBay for $50 less and works fine
anyone use any good fan cable splitters? see them on amazon and newegg but they all kinda seem the same in which some die or dont work properly
i got my 9900k for like $150 less back when they were just rollin out and it works fine
@neat swift I use this sooo
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EF9OI0O/
r5 2600x or i5 9400f
what about 3100
^
if you're asking bout those that means you're trying to save money, and there isn't anything wrong with a 3100 as a budget cpu imo, and with those two cpus it seems like you are mostly concerned bout gaming so
i mean i am gon get a 3100
besides isn't a 2600x more than a 3600 right now lol
Its ~$35 cheaper on newegg
definitely looks legit
2600x isn't available on bestbuy
which is better the Core i5-9600K or the ryzen 5 3600
At the same price point, assuming you'll have a gpu, 3600 would take my money.
the i5 has a .1 higher mhz clock rate lmao but the ryzen is unlocked and can be OC
ryzen 5 is so much value
The i5 is also unlocked
whats the performance difference in a 3300x and a 2700x? And would the 2700x be be better for streaming because it has 8 cores?
oh right its a k my bad lmao
It depends on if you’re gaming or doing other things
9600k beats 3600 in gaming, but I think 3600 wins elsewhere
well ill be doing editing and recording so i thinkthe 3600 would be better
@silent canyon I wouldn’t buy a 2700x unless you’re getting a good deal
theres someone selling one for 150 but i might be able to negotiate a little lower
okay
Hey guys what is a pretty good ITX mobo B550 or x570??
@silent canyon don't buy 3300x unless it's <140$
It's 120$ msrp, but has been out of stock for a really long time due to how good it is
@stoic island took your recommendation and got the TD500 case today
