first off, its very very unlikely that pcie gen 3 will cap it based on the fact that a 2080ti barely fills x8 slots bw. if it does end up doing so it will be by no more that a couple percent. the tests on nvidias presentation were on gen 3 and i doubt they ever would have used it if it could have any impact on performance

Can someone talk me through either buying 2080 TI used, 3080, 3070 for 4K gaming on a 60hz monitor? I know there’s a lot of unknowns with lack of benchmarks, but what would y’all do? I don’t have a gaming rig, so if it takes 4+ months to find a 30 series that’s a problem.
