How good can a gaming PC be for $69?
Buy a ga...
There it is
Do not recommend
is this an appropriate channel for tech support
Yes
tecc tip is best
i just got a new m.2 nvme, how do i make it my boot drive and transfer all my stuff from my current ssd
?
You'll have to install windows on it first
so its as if its a new build?
Pretty much
do i have to get a new windows product code for that
You can move the actication code to the new install
I have a question, is this all compatible? And is it a good budget pc?

@hasty bear You make a pcpartpicker list for that and I'll look at it
what do you mean? you want the link of the list?
Yeah. It's a huge pain to look over lists that are typed up like that
DM the link to me
@flat fern I was able to move your budget around enough to fit a 1660 super in: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/96fJhg
Hey @celest horizon, are newegg.io links not whitelisted?
This is what Mesut was trying to send: https://newegg.io/bb5c961
What's your budget Mesut?
My budget around 1800 for only desktop
Okay. What will you be doing with this PC? Looks like there's something going on more than just simple gaming
1800 USD, right?
Yes. This is for my school. I work on Auto Cad, Solid Work, MathLab and some software for engineering
Oof matlab
So we're gonna be looking at more CPU power than we would normally
Mechanical Engineering?
Is this PC I chose too much?
Not at all. ME is very compute heavy
No, I'm in Electrical but also mechanical
Here’s my setup rn
Electrical is alo heavy, just a little less so. The main thing is that the build is very expensive for the performance you'll get out of it
Do you play any video games, or will it only be for engineering work?
I thank you!
@sand falcon don’t you love when your motherboard dies and you forget to take off some liquid off the motherboard and they said you voided your warranty.
Made me pay 200 bucks
So my fish tank pc is apart rn and my setup is chaos
Hi , no Bob
No worries
👍
Hello bob
So if you get say 3600 c16 ram, can you set it to 3200 c14? Or does latency only work going up?
@sand falcon
Is the pc builder updated to gen 4 m.2 ssd yet?
Which PC builder?
Thanks Forks 🙂

thoughts?
Ram is expensive, SSD has no DRAM, PSU is a bit sketch
It's no biggie
Why
Pretty much all of those are fairly minor things too
I would upgrade the PSU when you get the chance though
Why
@high coyote rx580>rtx2060
I would upgrade the PSU when you get the chance though
@sand falcon to what
Huh
@high coyote Also, to quote The Linus, "F*** you nvidia!"
Linus said that
The Linus, not Linus
Never heard of him lemme look him up
Linus Torvalds
the dude that made that lame os
is he dead or no
hm i thought he was dead apparently not
the dude that made that lame os
@deep skiff bruh its not lame
Just made a brand new PC with the 3970x
@sand falcon wot
Lol
Reason: Bad word usage
i know a s*it ton of kali
Maybe it was a 3960x, I forget
Kali
Kali's a bit of a meme distro
Lot's of people just use it to be edgy
are good
Lot's of people just use it to be edgy
@sand falcon yes
i took a course of some kali tools
It's sorta like arch for wanna-be blackhats
nah man
its recon
10 yo download it to look cool
thats the problem
anyways
what shld i upgrade in my rig
First thing would be the PSU, but you could prioritize the monitor first
No biggie there
Just get a better PSU in there soon
what shld i change my psu to ?
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/cTfhP6/be-quiet-pure-power-11-500-w-80-gold-certified-atx-power-supply-bn901
This is a good cheap one right now
Good brand
Amen
I am dissapointed in you
Windows
its gaming man
I know
i aint using ubuntu
I hate it too
But we still need it for that one thing
pop_OS is getting good for lots of games, so hopefully we can cut that tie soon
I would never abandon windows right now for something else unless a os gets better than windows
Linux is already better
windows servers are run(?) on linux
Some of them, yeah. Linux is not for gaming, that's the only thing
It's like intel and amd pretty much
tell me the name of one kali tool
really stupid
Daily driving kali as your general use OS is stupid
@celest horizon who...does th---
The edgy 10yo blackhat wannabes
Yup. Does kali ship with hashcat and john the ripper?
yessir
Nice
It's QLC
If you don't mind saving up a bit more, the mp34 is only a bit more expensive
?hw
Huh, right now it's actually pretty much the same price. That's nice
what game shld i play next
@little osprey Have you heard of over the wire?

SKIMPS ON SPEAKERS
I think I also lost an HDD from the list at some point 😦
13$
You saw the mouse, right?
Who needs speakers when you have 400W of RGB
Sadly pcpp doesn't have the blowiematron
u had a 8 dollar mouse
its a random one i did a while ago\
So many fans
as a joke
yes
fills all slots on that case
mines a joke build
but practical if you had the money
$hw
Might consider a raid controller for those HDDs
oooof
They added PSU size checking recently
Hacksaw and you're fine
or remoe shroud
or find a smaller psu
im gonna go use the family laptop
1343 watts
tikes
See, what you do is get a server grade PSU
2000W titanium for like 70 bucks
its a i3 with 4 gb ram
updated the power supply
@sand falcon https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hkvHXv
replaced the stupidly overpriced gpu's
and the nolonger availble
I am dissapointed in the lack of pcie 4 ssds
dimm.2 doesnt support that
Dang
Heya folks
New to the pc game
Need some help getting all this stuff outta here so I can see the case
Also need a really cheap gaming build that can at least run warzone
That or csgo
Under 600 dollars tho
What settings do you want it to run at?
Just buy a next gen console lol
So is that 600 budget for everything? Like monitor, mouse and keyboard, and stuff?
No I wanna be able to play csgo and vlaorant as well
And pc?
But would need monitor?
Ok
At that price it could be worth considering buying an optiplex and putting a GPU in it
Up to you lol
Cya
Night m8
So i was wondering about airflow
I just built a pc using a rosewill spectra x
The airflow comes in from the front but the front doesn't have a dust filter like the top
Wouldn't it be better for air to come in from the top where theres a filter. Ik heat rises but just wondering if sucking in dust is gonna be a bigger isssue
You will have to find the lesser of 2 evils
Do you like heat, or dust
Need some help picking a laptop

What I'm looking at rn
how much is your budget
@little osprey what you looking for in a laptop?
Around $600
Mostly websurfing, facebook, mojang, solitaire, farmville
Those kinda things. And needs to be 17"
@stoic island @errant berry
@little osprey at that r8 just buy a 23" monitor
....
It's for my grandmother
She wants a 17" laptop
She doesn't have room for a monitor
And she wants to be mobile
That's why I asked for what I did
ah
hello guys
so i’m building my own pc and it refuses to do even post. the most that happens is a fan on my case looks like it’s about to start spinning but just stops
(my front panel connectors are in the right place)
idk i just need help because i have no idea what is going wrong
Have you tried reseating all of the power cables?
indeed i have
What are your system specs?
x470 gaming plus max motherboard, ryzen 7 3700x (i will update bios on motherboard to support ryzen 3000 once it actually works) 32gb of gskill ddr4 ram. and my psu is a thermaltake smart 600w
plus an rtx 2070 but i’ve been trying to power up the system without that
Some motherboards need to have a GPU present to boot
yeah this one does not tho it’s got integrated graphics
even powering up the system with a gpu it doesn’t work
no
It does not have integrated graphics
oh okay lmaoo
Can you take a picture of the build and DM it to me?
i got a couple of questions was to why my cpu temps drastically change so much
it seems to fluctuate all too much while even idling
it will jump like 10C for a little bit then go back down
airflrow is fine
but when i use ryzen master and turn the frequency up to 3.8 and undervolt it at 1.25 its every stable
It's the extra voltage then
but im undervolting it
@mortal rampart perfectly normal behavior for ryzen
ryzen boosting algorithm is pretty aggressive
my idle temps go from 40 to 60
with aftermarket cooler and very high case airflow
Dang ok
it is nothing you have to worry about
I was like well I've had it for 2 months and it hasn't blown up yet
what do you guys think about this build so far waiting for gpu and probably gonna wait for cpu for next gen ryzen but other than that what do you think?https://pcpartpicker.com/list/r3c6CL
might as well get a 3900x if ur paying that much for a cpu
@frozen axle if your gaming go with a 3600
its for video editing, little graphic design and streaming while gaming as a side so 3700x is better option for price?
Possibly
What's a board I can use for the 3 3200g with current bios
Any b450 board
Well when I put it in pc part picker it says there might be a bios problem that would mean you would have to buy a later gen cpu
Probably not an issue anymore
Unless you buy a used board that has an old bios
I think?
Well
3200g is zen+ already though
@spiral zealot Have you verified that it works though
yep, installed it and fired it up
it's on the 12gbps bios still, but that's an easy fix
it's hot as balls here today so it was idling in the mid 40's, but it was also still on zero fan plus high ambient temps
so i'm not worried about that
xfx has the thicc lineup, but this one is really a thicc boi
it's the XFX RAW II 5600XT
Wait not quite but still
i still have 2 accessible down at the bottom, if i need them
no rgb, but the white blends in easily enough
Finna blast off like a starship
i'm playing around with a cyberpunky color scheme lol
i had the ram alternating between blue/purple, but i like the blue/yellow
Cool cool
the front fans are yellow as well, and the case has 3 rgb strips on the front, which are set to blue
Is that a threadripper I see
it is
yep
got a great deal on the cpu/mb and have been wanting a workstation PC for a while
ended up being a cheap switch from my previous setup
I need help building my new pc
I got parts its just im a bit confused
ping me if u can help
@little osprey with what
I put the CPU in with the cooler
The ram
I need help with cable managment and where to put certain cables
I'm not the guy to ask about cable management xD
If you got problems with cables and where they plug in, I should be able to help
Thats what i mean
What does the connector look like, and where does it come from
DM an image if you can take a pic
Anyone got a sec to help me out with something
ask your question, and if someone has the time, they will say so @fleet spade :)
@kind flax could you pm me a screenshot of that window?
So I'm building a customer's PC, Ryzen 3700x, Aorus B450 Pro wifi, 16gb Corsair vengeance, EVGA 600w 80+ Bronze, 4tb wd black, and Samsung evo 1tb m.2, Customer ordered Aorus 2080 Ti Extreme waterforce for a GPU still waiting for that to come in, put everything together and threw an older card in to see if it'll post and let me peak the bios, but absolutely no power is running through the board it seems, no fans nothing, PSU runs because I tested it as soon as I opened it but the bored looks to have no issues no matter how man times I study the board, all in all very lost
could just be a DOA board.
i'm thinking about my next build. i have an i3-6100 and 16gb of ddr4-2400 lying around, wondering what would be best to pair it with? 1050ti? 1060 6gb?
since it's only a 2c/4t cpu, doesn't need anything super crazy
1050ti
Ah yeah might be a doa board. Rip just got here today too. Alright! Return/defective here I come
its it weird i never had to deal with a doa part before
ive only bulit like 4 pcs tho
I need help where to plug in some cables on my first build can anyone help me out. Thanks!
Well we picked this up on Newegg since it's what the customer wanted, didn't think it would come DOA but I guess a week and a half of waiting and across the country it can happen
First time I've ever had DOA anything too
Yo peeps - I'm a first-time custom PC builder and wondering if anyone has thoughts on this build? Had some friends recommend parts based on my work [music production] and gaming habits [casual]: Fractal Design Define R5 Computer Case, ASUS AM4 TUF X570-Plus, AMD Ryzen 9 3950X 16-Core 3.5GHz, Fractal Design Ion+ 760W, Kingston Technology HyperX Fury Black 32GB 2666MHz DDR4, Sabrent Rocket 2TB PCIe M.2 3200 MB/s, Noctue NG-D15 SSo2 D-Type CPU Cooler
when i bulit my 1st pc in 2018 i bought a amazon renewed x370 gaming plus mobo
but it didnt have the backplate to put a cooler on it
where did casual gaming go lol
so thats the only pc part ive returned
@kind jolt first thoughts, that ram is pretty slow for use with 3rd gen Ryzen, and do you have a GPU?
The PSU is a bit overkill wattage wise, and usually is one of the more expensive models, but if it's a good price (~130$ or less), it's fine
I think 32gb is fine for music production
I heard it takes a good bit
yea hes making money with his pc so spend extra tho
true
me with a 3.5 k setup just to not be bored af
Here's a viable alternative as an example at a good price
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079H6111J
me with a 1k setup bc im hella broke
trump money
Of course if you got a good deal on the ion, keep it
In terms of RAM - does higher speed have a big impact on performance? I saw some other ones are closer to 3600MHz+.. Haven't selected a GPU but saw that the GTX 2060 / 2070 were recommended, may be overkill? [i use a large 40 inch 4k monitor and heard that it can help a lot]
It is a great PSU
nah i didnt even get that
Yea, 3600mhz at Cas latency 16 is recommended with 3rd gen Ryzen, I can find you a kit as an example. Just displaying things you don't need a beefy GPU, but I think having a 2070 super or so would be nice if you have any programs that take GPU acceleration
Do you guys know where this plugs into on the other side of a USB 2.0 plug?
what even is that
Noted, thanks for the advice @stoic island
Are there any considerations in terms of physical / software compatibility? Just wondering whether that needs to be checked before I get all these great parts and they dont assemble together or something
its for rgb
Lemme check real quick, right now all I think you need to check is ram height with D15 compatibility
Also, @kind jolt use pcpartpicker, it automatically checks some of the simple dimensions
It looks like D15 will need to move the second fan up for that ram kit, Ripjaw Vs are 42mm tall, with 32mm avaliable in the normal config
Which isn't an issue for you case, D15 is normally 165mm tall, the R5 supports up to 180mm tall CPU coolers
so if you move the second fan up 10mm you'll be fine
It's also an option to go with the NH-D15s if you just wanted second fan to be gone for much better ram compatibility
First time pc build and have a noob question. Not 100% sure what I'm doing but did a lot of research.
Can you test your motherboard without a cpu, gpu, ssd, and ram? Like will any led or fans come on? Only part I'm waiting on now to complete my setup is ram and ssd
What I have:
Asus rog strix B450-F
Ryzen 5 3600x
Geforce gtx 1660 super
970 evo 500g ssd
16g ddr4 ram
4t hdd
1000w 80+ gold psu
Single fan does not hamper the cooling capacity too much, the heatsink can still do it's job in a casewith good airflow
I believe you'll need a CPU for it to do anything
yes need cpu
So cpu is installed now and gpu is installed. Nothing comes on. I think its doa. Tested my psu by jumping 4 and 5. Fan comes on the psu
Tried jumping mobo power headers?
Yes
Nothing at all doesnt make a sound and psu fan does not come on when hooked to the mobo
then either go to newegg for a return or Asus for a RMA
Not much you can do when something was dead, sadly
Makes for a great first time experience 🤣🤣
Do you guys lube your keyboards? I got a ducky tkl keyboard loving it
And if so how often and what is the best lube in the market rn?
Btw please ping me for the answer i g2g
do y'all know what this cable is?
it looks like a fan connector, what's on the other end of it?
@stoic island kinda looks like molex -> 4 pin
@little osprey you should only need to lube switches once, but you would have to desolder them and resolder them after you lubed them, krytox 205g0 and tribosis 3204 are good for linears, tribosis 3203 is good for tactiles (cant really lube clicky switches)
thats alsoi a fan conntecor i believ if your cpu fan cable doesnt work @stoic island
@stoic island pretty sure that's molex to floppy
excuse me WHAT
could be
o k a i
Looks like molex to fan power to me
what kinda fan would that power...?
A molex fan
wait what does the molex look like
Molex is the fat bit
Here's the cables on a floppy drive
@little osprey you should only need to lube switches once, but you would have to desolder them and resolder them after you lubed them, krytox 205g0 and tribosis 3204 are good for linears, tribosis 3203 is good for tactiles (cant really lube clicky switches)
@deep skiff once? Or once in a while? What happens if i dont lube? Will the keys stop working?
no lube just makes them smoother and sound slightly different (lessens the plastic on plastic friction), lubing is optional it works perfectly fine without it
Ok that is doable
Alright
Sadly on mobile rn so can't help with the list... Maybe later
@ripe lily Here is a base list to start off from, 650$ so you have budget make your own additions
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KcD3hg
you can get faster ram, higher wattage PSU, or maybe get a 3600 in
does anyone have any modifications I should make to this?
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/cKRB27
Good, you?
@rancid fable I'd reccomend a Crucial P1 instead for the SSD, NVMe at the same price so why not
@rancid fable gaming?
@deep skiff yes and @stoic island thanks
Are you gonna oc the cpu?
the GPU and PSU are both out of stock at best buy by the way
Ik
You can get a B550 phantom gaming 4 for cheaper than that b450 tomahawk max
i would def go for the b550
It's good enough for PBO to do it's job
It comes with the spire right?
prism
Oh yea
if you can wait https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Mx3CGc (the rtx 3070 price is a placeholder/estimate)
Oh yea dark rock 4 is overpriced for what it is
thought it was drp4 lol
Mugen 5 rev b is good for the price
yes thats why i put it there :p
also they include a nice magnetic screwdriver so ez buy
:O
Mr1 how do you rate my cable management?
very nice
I've spent hours total lol
I don't cable manage well myself so lemme
the 24 pin area looks like a tornado
hm
And don't wanna put to much stress on 24 pin
maybe hide that cpu cooler can to the left of that vrm block
Use wireless sata
Actually...
Do they actually make them?
I wish
Bluetooth is probably too low bandwidth
Yeah
Unless your hard drive was mega slow lol
You know things are bad when your dad's pc get to the login screen after like 5 minutes
He'll just turn it on and take a shower, so it's done booting by the time he gets back lmao
Anyone know how to wipe a user from Windows 10? No format or factory reset if it possible
is it the owner account?
Hey do all intel i5 cpus fit the same motherboards?
nope
there's like 4 different generation of chipsets that only apply to certain generations of intel chips
like 10600k isn't going in a z390 board
vice versa a 9600k isn't going in a z490 board
most intel cpus are lga1151 sockets but the new ones are lga1200 so just be aware of that
^unlike Ryzen
Even on LGA1151 they got dif boards for dif generations
Yup
And that's why I went Ryzen
Pretty much any gen (except threadripper) can go on a b450, ryzen 9 is recommended for b550/x570, but you could use b450 with some performance loss
like Z270 vs Z370/Z390 are both on LGA1151
but coffee lake doesn't go in Z270
and skylake doesn't go in z390
stuff do be confusing
i mean people have ran a 3900x on a320 and it works
Really?
Yup
I thought a ryzen 9 3 could only go down to b450?
I guess if you have the bios for it?
some a320 and x370 have the newer bios
Yea
its not a good idea but
But a certain intel would never have you do chips across architectures in old mobos
@unborn solstice maybe get 512 ssd 2 hdd?
nah i want to have a couple games on my nvme
ah ok
and theyre both ssds
poor college kid blowing all his stimulus money on a pc boi o.o
Does anyone have a DEEPCOOL GAMMAX GTE V2 and know what software to use or how to control the rgb fans
Question about the Gigabyte B550M DS3H and and m.2 ssd. Which slot should it go in to be bootable?
Put it in the top one
Nearest the cpu?
Yes
Thank you @sand falcon
@unborn solstice get a windows key that’s cheap like 10 bucks. It’s a waste paying over that
@high coyote i got it for $3 lol
i have an old r7 370 lying around that i found in the closet, do you think that would be a worth while card to try and flip in a build? would be paired with the i3-6100 i have lying around
it's basically a brand new card, it was used once at work for writing a review a few years ago and then put back in the box
just seeing how many things i have in the parts pile that i can compile into a budget machine
I'm in process of building a pc with my son and we are having problems figuring out how to connect a evga 550 b5 to the Gigabyte B550M DS3H. Is there a diagram I can refer to for connections?
there might be one on their website. usually its just a 24 pin on the right and sometimes supplemental in the top left of the mobo
I got the main connection but what about the video card? Is that one the vga connection?
vga is video
thats an output. there should be connectors on the edge of your gpu facing you when in the pcie slot
those are the power cables that go directly to psi
psu*
On the mobo there is an ATX 12V, is that one optional because there is no cable included that would fit in that connection
the atx 12v, if it's not the 24pin, will actually be 2 4 pin connectors that clip together
and they should be labeled as 'cpu' on the split end
it's an 8 pin in the top left
looking at the PSU, it looks like the cable you want will be labeled as CPU on both sets of connectors. the solid 8 pin connector goes into the power supply where it says 'CPU1'
and the split connector goes into the motherboard
Nom nom, instead of "lmao" how about some helpful advice.
Everyone I asked about this build said the 550 was plenty
it's fine, he was talking about using a B550 chipset, but as long as you're using a Ryzen 3000 series CPU, you won't have any issues
I am
but as I mentioned before, check for the PSU cable labeled "CPU" and connect the solid 8 pin to the PSU where it says 'CPU1' and the split 4 pin connector end goes into the ATX 12V socket on the motherboard
Thanks @spiral zealot got that connected
awesome!
and make sure to take the time to cable manage as you go, run cables behind the motherboard tray and use the various cutouts and grommets to poke the cables through and connect to the board/gpu/etc
it just makes the build look clean and sleek when you're all done
No spaghetti
Yes, that's where I'm at. It's tedious work 😂
@spiral zealot no no I thought hr meant a gtx 550
So I was like thats kinda unbalanced
@timid escarp bad deal
Thought so
Very bad
Which is the processor @timid escarp
I know how to make lists lmao
I m talking for buid chat
No I am saying @timid escarp should use 1660
So his budget will be under 700 dollars
Changing graphic cards and rgb ram to normal
Will cut the rate
@little leaf
Oh u r from America
Sorry not how
Also lpx ram isnt rgb
Using 2 slots rather than 4
Yes but lpx ram is rfb
Also lpx ram isnt what I would use
Just whta the video disc used
Overpriced
90 dollars 😂
Not that much
Ye I guess it was more expensive before
Remember it was 200$ back then
When your brain can’t process more then 1 thing at a time
Some parts in America have very less price
Glue
Actually u know basil
asrock 570 extreme 4/ 3800x/ rx5700xt nitro?
Hi everyone, I finally have all my pc parts for a build set up for Streaming, Video and Music Editing NOT GAMING. Just want some feed back if this is a okay rig for my first build

you should definitely upgrade the GPU. but wait for Nvidia 3000
I’ll help do A) the case I belive would be fine but relize the airflow is bad b) get the 3600 and save a buck maybe over lock if you feel comfortable c) get a b550 board the d3sh is 95 and is solid d) the ram could be 3600mhz an is cheaper right now than the vengeance for 60.99 (gskill) e) gpu look at least for a 1650 super once the 3000 series comes out it’ll be around the same price if everything goes well for a 1050 ti f)maybe a s12ll from seasonic more familiar and know if safer
@dawn iron
Also I believe that ssd does not have dram
So when you save the extra buck with the cpu get a p2 nvme or a mp34 both solid options
But not a bad first sketch mine was way worse a year ago
Yes I was told to look into a new GPU and I will be getting something more high end when released.
Yes
For SSD I’m looking for DRAM?
Yes dram cache get a nvme too doesn’t hurt the budget with the cuts I’ve made
Okay thanks for the tips
The good ones are mp34, P2, wd black, Samsung (but expensive)
Yeah any of those are good
No problem 🙂
It’s a start and I’m only going to upgrade when the time comes
Yes
I’m looking at the WD Black
That’s good
Thank u
Np
WD_Black SN750 1TB NVMe Internal Gaming SSD - Gen3 PCIe, M.2 2280, 3D NAND - WDS100T3xoc?
How’s this one?
It is better than your hard drive you had picked
Also for streaming I suggest the gtx 1650 super ti gaming x 4g graphic card because it is compatible with streamlabs
1650 super ti?
What’s a good score for cinemark r20?
GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1660 Ti OC 6G 192-bit GDDR6 DisplayPort 1.4 HDMI 2.0B with Windforce 2X Cooling System Graphic Cards
Is this one better then then MSI Computer Video Graphic Cards GeForce GTX 1050 TI GAMING X 4G
yes
@tawny parrot what model power supply is in your system? The N1?
Ok phew. I’m glad it’s not an N1
Wait where did your message go
Mee6 deleted it
Oh yeah cause it had a link in it
Says I can't share websites on newegg
Yeah you have to be level 3 to post links and images
N1 is terrible. Terrible quality
Oh ok. Good to know.
Yeah, brands like EVGA don’t just make good models. They have some good ones, some bad ones, and some mediocre ones
Thank you.
Looking at either a Noctua NH -U12a or ASUS Ryou 120mm AIO for a INTEL 10700. Which is better and fits in a
ASUS ROG Strix Z490-I Gaming motherboard
U12a should have better cooling performance
A bit chunky tho
@static flame what case?
Hey does anyone have a pc part picker list for a little under a thousand USD?
I can make one
if you would that would be appreciated
For doing what tho?
Gaming/streaming if possible
(Ethernet provides a better connection anyways, but people sometimes have their room too far from the router and need wifi)
id prefer wifi since my setup will be moved
Any one know a motherboard that is some what cheap but really good for intel cpus
Here is a 1000$ build without WiFi, stuff can be changed around if you need it to be cheaper before tax, and I can find you a 15$ wifi card so you can have that as an option @topaz frost
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ryxcJb
@little osprey for which Intel CPU
Many different chipsets for different sockets for different generations
i5 to i9
Which generation of i5 to i9
Like a 10600k and 9600k have completely different motherboards they fit in
@little osprey gigabyte b365m ds3h for 8 and 9 gen, cheap but great
8th
Do you need high freq ram or overclocking?
For an i7 or i9 you should get a better motherboard, for i3 or i5 the one that i told you its perfect, depends of if you will make overclock or not
Thank you
Here's a good enough wifi adapter if you don't have crazy gigabit wifi @topaz frost
ok thank you
Whats the differents between overclock and not
First if the processor has a K in its name, it can OC. If it doesn't, it can't
If it can't, just ignore it
Oh ok
Overclocking is just giving the CPU more power to run faster
Oh so its good
It requires tinkering, and isn't available, or is really bad on lower end boards
It's something that if you know how to do, it's nice to have, if you don't, you don't miss out on too much
But yes B365m ds3h is a good enough board for just plug and play
Oh ok thanks
The whole ds3h lineup is affordable and works, no fancy bits but it works
@little osprey just keep in mind it locks max ram frequency to 2666mhz
Because my budget is 2500 i just wanna fit everything in
Canadian Currency
B365m ds3h is more something for a 800usd build
Oh
2500 cad is about 1900$ usd
Yeah
Why are you looking at 8th gen intel chips? You can easily afford good 10th gen chips
Oh that’s better
PCs are expensive, but they're not so expensive that you need 2000$ for an entry PC lol
You can get an excellent pc with that budget
Yea newer chips = better as a basic rule of thumb
@rain raven did you actually get a Thermaltake smart
if I may ask who is your source because from what i here there good but not bad
I would definitely not ever use one in a 2060 build. That’s bad news man
they are not good
They are a plastic explosive for mid tier systems
Reason: Bad word usage
They might be okay for low end systems, but I consider yours moderately high-end, and you don’t want a cheap PSU powering that
ok i am getting my money back
We can find exact sources if you need it
Tt smart 80+ and white has some horrible issues iirc
@rain raven a good PSU for that system would be something like
Antec Neo Eco Gold
Cooler Master MWE gold
Corsair CX (gray label)
Neo Eco Gold Zen too
ok thx
if you can find a rmx 550 for 100 that would be good
B5 should be good for cheap PSUs
Yeah, zen, non zen, both work
@little leaf last was 115$
ok
Although iirc non zen is a little better
I don't remember the difference
But pretty sure Neo Eco gold non zen 600w is around $70 rn
for performance would you guys recommend fractal design meshify c or cooler master td 500 mesh for performance probably running a dark rock pro cpu cooler
or neither case idk
ttd500 is pretty good
They perform very similar... if you add extra fans, for the meshify C that is
ah okay thanks!
Td500 mesh for better stock performance
They're about the same if you add more fans to the Meshify C
and these cases would be a good fit for the dark rock pro cpu cooler right
dont want like clearence issues
Td500 mesh fits I know that, check CPU cooler max height on Meshify C
will do
Can someone make me a ryzen 7 3700x and rtx 2070s build? Rgb isn't necessary
What's a good budget for that type of build? Would $1500 be good?
Do u want a aio or air cooling
2070 super/ryzen 7 3700x u can build for like $1200
not really
@little osprey how much storage do u want
bad PSU given the parts
yeah i was kinda iffy
at least it isnt the GR one tho (500w and lower)
In the 1500$ list it have a aio
aio isn't really necessary
AIO doesnt do much in noise normalized perf
but if he wants it go for it
^^
or a 3900x
Also that GPU is OOS in the $1225 list
i'd get a b550
You can also add a better cooling in there
Tomahawk should be enough for this build
You can go up to r9
tomahawk is bad
i'd still go b550 as it's $10 cheaper
bad SPU, only one M2 M, no M2 E, meh LAN controller, less RGB/PCIe ports then other boards
SSD is overpriced, case doesnt have that great of airflow, PSU has not that great capacitors and should be better given the budget
I guess
also seems like 2080S cant be bought unless used due to poor stock. Should also wait a bit for the 3080(Ti)
If you're looking at the ~$1500 budget I'd go for this after new parts come out ($300 Zen3 and $700 RTX 3000)
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xKF86R
i'd just get something like an mp34 (512gb) for a few bucks more and it's much better
Changed SSD to NVMe due to small price difference, PSU due to CXM having coil whine issues, and added case fan due to case only coming with one fan
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BcC6k6
seems solid
