fpga is all closed source
No it's not
5000$ split between PC and peripherals
You take the code, you compile it, and you send it over. The fpga reconfigures its hardware and starts working. Some of them have closed source communication protocols for reconfiguring, but that's no biggie
monitors are pretty important
but in the end it'll be your choice
I'm just suggesting you try 1440p again
not when you smashed a 1200$ stand alone monitor because you have anger issues
sorry i’m describing myself
hey at least u dont break monitors without touching them like me :v
How do you break monitor without touching them?
I'm using my ryzen 3600 and two corsair 3200c16 ram sticks in the correct slots, but my NB Frequency is still only 1600MHz on CPU-Z?
i literally raged so i stood up and kicked the monitor 10 times
idk but its in rma rn so cant wait to get it back
and threw it out my window
1600mhz is the true frequency
ahh
DDR doubles it
no
its usually a little off like that
ohh gotcha
yea it can be like 2mhz off
mr1 for techie
was just looking at a guide on this stuff and
his NB Frequency is way higher
mr1 for techie
bruh what he has ln2 or something
probably
hey @sullen spoke are you able to make me a setup with a budget of 2500$ including triple monitors with a desk mount that lifts it off the desk, mouse, keyboard, mouse pad, microphone, boom arm and audio interface if needed
ahhh gotcha
Oh idk if I can make a list rn, I’m away from home for a day or 2
and has a high multiplier
o
oh okay that’s alright i
ghost who else is good with audio gear?
is anyone else able to please
what monitors are you looking for grau
atleast is 144hz, 0.5ms and 1440p
just 1080x1920
Boom arm, I’m still trying to get a blue compass, haha it’s been out of stock for several months
key word is at least
hm
it's gonna take 2500$ to build a computer that can run triple 1440p monitors t b h
0.5ms is gonna be hard
i already ordered all the parts hadwee made for 2500$
Not really useful either
that’s why i said at least 0.5ms
oh I see
yeah
Rode psa1 or maybe auray bai 2x could also be some nice boom arm. Some have an issue with sm7b mount tho
i went with it because he stuck with the color scheme with pretty much all the parts, thanks so much for putting in your suggestion too though mr1111
got confused on the wording grau mb
it’s okay
There is a mount extender thing that shure has I think
aight I do performance builds not aesthetic builds :P
throw a bunch of non-matching parts into a blender for peak performance gang
PC37x for mid-high
Ya
@little osprey what price do you say is "mid range"
Drop headsets are always nice
@little osprey i use turtle beach recon 200’s and i love hyphen
pc37x is a very good headset at 120$
them*
Some say bass on them is a bit high
@little osprey only 50$ too
oh
like around their
Oh ye Grau, if you looking for headphones too, maybe check out dt 770 or 990 pros, they pretty popular for audio work
turtle beach recon 200 is only 50$ and i love them, great sound quality, audio boosters
they work for pc right
uhhh
yeah i use dt 990 pros silver in my studio
turtle beach
sure do
Ahh nice
k
@little osprey
dunno if you have prime or not
i do
I’m thinking of getting a pair of 770 pros for recording and monitoring
is there a good one for gaming
recon 200 is great for gaming
I've never used turtle beach so I can't say anything about their headsets
i have not used a turtle beach headset since like the xbox 360 days
ok so i might use the turtle beach ones
if you know any other good ones just ping me
thank you guys just one more question, do you know a good 1440p (can go up to 4k) 144hz plus monitor 24inch+ under 550
nvm i’ll just try and make my own list
VG27AQ
@warm cave what cpu and ram speed do you have?
@sudden turret gimme a sec penne find it
Ram. : 3000hz, CPU 4.6ghz
Oh wait. Night be 2400hz
Might*
@sudden turret
I have not
hop into bios and do that after you swap stick placement
R5 3600
ah ok.. 3000 is ok.. but I'd recommend higher 🙂
3600mhz is the sweet spot.
but nothing wwrong with what ya got
Ya i just switched from a ry5 1400
But his kit is only 3000MHz
oh wow, big gains 🙂
And over to a rtx 2060 super. Im still learning about building.
yeah enable xmp, or whatever your bios calls the ram oc and you should be good to go
default speeds will always be 2133mhz if you dont change it
typically.
What does that do? Sorry for the ignorance
random access memory
Ah ok
the faster the better
like taking a handful of yellowjackets, and chugging with a red bull
ziiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing
Good pick me up.
nyooooooooooooooom
What kind of server you putting together there Forks?
forks has nice gpu
@sudden turret so...when I boot my system up. It basically is a black screen and then windows login. It like..skipa the options for bios. Any idea why?
Just..black screen
right when you boot up just spam the DEL button
that ^
chances are youll get into bios anyways
Ok word
it probably has 'quick boot' enabled or something, which just streamlines the initial startup
What’s the pc case for good airflow but also not pricy
Box can I DM you for customer service
no.
ID be down for that.
Fatal said
Would you like bling, or no bling?
What’s the pc case for good airflow but also not pricy
how much not pricy
That is not bling
Like under 80
Bling is trident z royal
Box u know any?
True bling
@unkempt ibex I'm lookin
mid tower?
m-atx*
open box special
nice mesh 3 fan front
Uh for atx motherboard
@sudden turret. Ok...what should I be changing here?
with?
Woops. Cant post pic
sec
Wait what do u mean box
@unkempt ibex that case I linked will fit atx board.. just read over the specs in the link I sent
what do you seen when you open the Memory Frequency pull down tab
l;ooks like it's already set to the 2400mhz though.
hmm
Oh sorry
you can try a slight OC to it, but you probably won't notice much from it. have you already fixed the slot placement?
I'd say let it ride and see how it performs 🙂 if you like it then enjoy your build 🙂
then in the future you know what ram to look for
and can always come back here and bug @sullen spoke for answers.
Ive been thinking about increasing. And some fans
right on, what keyboard mouse you have?

An old Razer mechanical keyboard and a g502 mouse.
Lol
I was just asking if ya had corsair I would recommend the corsair rgb ram
it's so.....
shiny @_@
I like the idea.
and they make dummy sticks so you can fill in the blanks 🙂
and fake it like I do.
\o/
I need a new keyboard because i accidentally....hulk smashed it at the end if a 30 roubd tekken losing streak..
yikes
Thats nice.
Haha faker
I would've gave up after the 3rd loss
lol
But ya. Im still learning a bunch...the PC was originally a prebuilt I bought 2nd hand. And Ive replaced everything but the mobo and the hhd
best way to learn honestly.
Im getting a shiny new monitor tomorrow or else i would buy ram today.
buy prebuilt, slowly replace part by part.. before you know it your wife is yelling at you cause the closet is full of wires and boxes and parts everywhere.

Yeah...im already over my "fun budget"
Lmao
I love itb
This monitor will be my first that isn't..some 2nd hand i got from a buddy that didn't have Cheetos crumbs in the bezels
Im concerned about being able to push 1440 though.
I know ill lose frames due to the resolution increase, no?
Do y'all like galax
HOF models
Good. That makes me nervous. Im excited to see if i can tell a difference between 1080 Abd 1440
Thats what im hoping. Ive also never had a monitor bigger than 24"
So.
My girlfriend wont see me for a few days
I don't know if hackintosh will work on AMD
Yay
@keen bobcat what power supply is in that build
hi so sorry i have been super inactive lately but my friend was looking for a gaming pc that can run fortnite above 60 fps and is under $800
That's doable
do you have a parts list i can give him? hes super excited
2x16g or 4x8g is it better to have all four slots filled on the mobo ?
4x8gb is faster technically
But it depends on the two kits, like if they have different CL or speed
why would 4x8 be faster?
whats the speed tho
why would 4x8 be faster?
Not sure. Saw it on YT video
4x8 would be faster if you had a quad channel cpu and mobo, otherwise it's exactly the same
i think the less ranks of memory you have per channel, the better
so it just depends on the modules and the number of memory channels
at the same timings and speed of course
2x16g is 16 and the 4x8g is 18
the 2x16 has much better timings, but we dont know the speed yet
thats not the speed
thats the CAS
it should be like 3200, or 2666, or 3600
Sorry 3600
for both sets?
Yes
get the 2x16 ez
why an x570 board?
Already have it
a b550 is exactly the same, so dont rule those out yet
And they are the ripjaws
sounded like gskill timings lol
Wouldn’t that split the workload
Kinda, but not in the place where it matters
if they clock the same, then its fine, but it makes it more difficult to clock them higher
What do you mean by add more ranks to a single channel
each memory channel is only so wide, each channel can handle one ranks worth of memory chips
the more dimms you add, the more ranks you add
the harder it is to clock all the memory higher
the only reason you put more than one rank on a memory channel is for the sake of capacity
as you add ranks, you trade away performance
the trace layout of the motherboard effects this as well
when you add multiple dimms on a single channel, the design of the trace layout can add unwanted signal problems and interference issues the higher the clock and the tighter the timings get
so you usually cant get clocks and timings as good as you could have with only one dimm on one channel
What if I’m not overclocking the ram
anything above 2133mhz is an overclock
@willow mulch I’m pinging you here because tech support actually isn’t allowed in #build-pics
I had to change the RGB in the BIOS with my ASRock Steel Legend. The software isn’t great at all for me
@sacred chasm 2nd choice
Both got 3 monitors
How
But imo I prefer the latter option
I have a $1500 budget any suggestions
im sure anyone here could piece together a good list for you i dont trust myself enough compared to some people here
Me neither.
But a couple things I could ask you is will this be in USD or CAD?
Purpose of the build?
Does this include peripherals? Or is the $1500 solely for the PC build.
Also need to think about tax and shipping.
@dull gyro Do you need a monitor with that
X570 or B550?
X570
Depending on clock speeds
lemme check
oh
Ask the ocing chat
besides, I'm thinking to myself that I think all I'd really need is a 1300$ PC
I'm trynna be wise about it
I'd say like a 2K build is overkill for me
Just put it together rq and I'll give some recommendations
okie
damn i can't really do it
@mortal rampart could you try and make one for me? I want rgb : P
I'm on my phone rn lul
oh
And I don't have a computer to use Lmao
ohhh
Jus give me a budget
I'll have one by tomorrow I gotta schleep
Could someone make me a list of parts for $1500 USD (minus ram and case bcz I already have those) please
And could you make the cpu a ryzen please
thanks mom
@arctic jungle I got the case on a really deep sale on newegg for 200 bucks, my specs are nothing to brag about, I really wanted to do a custom mech looking build that's why I got that case,
CPU: 3600x
RAM: 32gb 3200MHZ ddr4
GPU: 1060 6gb (waiting to get a new rdna 2 card from AMD)
MOBO: ASRock extreme 4
the nzxt streaming pc for $1500 looks great, is it actually good?
Which one?
@candid saffron which one
lemme see
OH
yeah no I have a friend who streams, and he bought it without consulting me 😡 even tho im the techy
Could probably get a 2080 super for that price if you built it yourself
Its good for a nzxt prebuilt ngl but you can get better if you are willing to build one yourself
true
Ok
is it very hard to build one myself, ive never before
Is this a good place to post a part list asking for review?
Ok it looks really hard but people say its not
don't automatically assome thet
yes @prisma sleet
i can help out
@candid saffron it's not hard- just do some research
actually
ur gonna have to dm me the list
or have a mod fetch the link
bc rookies can't post links
@prisma sleet
@candid saffron there are endless resources online to help you figure it out! Im about to build my first
Oh cool
Youre alright with me dming you antago?
mhm
I have a list on pcpartpicker but i cant send it here
@next tangle
I tried
It could be a little better if I made it through a laptop or sum but I'm on my phone rn
@oak galleon
This is 4u
A lil over budget as well but some things you could tinker with to get under $1500
Thanks
anyone got any tips@in how to boost frames(
should i upgrade my gpu, case, or cooling?
All
Depends on what you have now in terms of cooling
Help
Howdy fellers. I'm actually looking for some help. Is there a safe way to move my OS from my HDD to my SSD wtihout having to reinstall everything?
Hey, I'm building a pc for a friend. I'm not new, but this is my first time building a custom pc, and I'd like to know if there are tips that people building a custom pc from scratch should take in to consideration
This is gonna be my bulid
if there is anything that i should change, tell me
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700x
MOTHERBOARD: ASUS AMD AM4 ROG X570 CROSSHAIR VIII HERO (WI-FI)
GPU: ASUS TUF GAMING X3 RADEON 5700XT 8GB OC
RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO 16GB (2X8GB) 3200MHz C16
STORAGE: 1, SSD SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS 1TB NVME 2, SMASUNG 860 EVO 1TB
CASE: METALLICGEAR NEO AIR ATX
PSU: SEASONIC FOCUS GX-750 80+ GOLD
CPU COOLING: FAN THAT CAME WITH RYZEN
CASE FAN: BE QUIET SILENT WINGS 3
Can you give prices?
That's fine. SSD is overpriced, dual ssd is silly, and mobo is likely overpriced
Get nvme + HDD
Do you need wifi?
yea
f
ik
but my internet router which i use upstairs
doesn't have good wired but has good wireless
around 500 mbps
i can switch thou if needed
the gpu is 599.99
500 is nice
in canada everything is overpriced
so 599.99 is pretty good
but if i do find a 500
i will take that
mobo 539.99
That's CAD
oh really
ok then yea i can get it
nvme is 340 but on sale rn for 300 and ssd is 200
but i will switch the ssd for a hdd
That case is currently listed as unavailable
on newegg
yea but i found it on amazon for 97
and newegg it is 88 but out of stock
yea
those samsung ssds hella expensive wtf
CAD
NVMe 200cad after shipping
https://www.newegg.ca/team-group-mp34-1tb/p/N82E16820331309
How many fans are you sticking in?
3
i have 2 from the case
Oh, are you using the 120mm?
yea
You might be able to get a way with less fans
really
the case has 5 fan slots
2 filled already
and i am gonna get 3
i will try with 2
and if i need it get a thrid
np
thanks
have a great day
@mortal rampart it's alright! thanks for helping out 😄
@mortal rampart if I were to up it to a 1700$ budget, what would you upgrade in that list?
Can someone point me in the right direction... i have a msi z390 godlike motherboard with i9 9900k rtx 2060s. The first week of having it i had to do a RMA and they refused to tell me what they had to fix/do, that said it was not showing temps on the cpu socket pcie1, mos. And voltage was 24v on the 12v,10v on the 5v. Now a few months later temps not showing up on m.2 1-3, pcie1-5 and mystic lights are not working at all just the ram default lights are working. This has been the worst pc i have ever built. I have reformatted numerous times and even bought a new wd-black sn750 1tb to go with my 500gb plus t-force night hawk 2 16gb kits.
@mortal rampart alright so, this is what I came up with for 1700$ https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rqds27
why oof? @little leaf
9900k is only useful for gaming more or less, but was paired with a meh gaming GPU. Could've gotten a better gaming thing with 3600 + 2080S
even 3700x+2080S is probs close to same budget
10600k+2080S for pure gaming and maybe same budget
true true but you never know why he went with the 9900K, he could've needed it for something specific or he just wants to be super futureproofed and in the 2060S is just a placeholder for him
it's confusing what the issue is
^^
i wouldnt recommend spending more than 1.5K atm, 10600K and 2080s for 1.5K sounsd nice
How much should be spent on a gaming pc so i can run 240fps and stream
Well it depends what game
Because streaming Fortnite with 240fps is different then streaming like metro exodus
But you’d probably want a 2080s and a solid and processor like the ryzen 9 3900x
So probably around 2000 i haven’t checked prices in a while though
Well
depends still
3900x is completely unnecessary for just streaming
3700x works
I've been told it's hard to maintain 144fps in MW while streaming with a 2070s
I don't xD
so MW might be really hard to go 240fps while streaming
Ya so it’s hard to just say “240 FPS and stream”
I play fortnite hyperscape some warzone so those games
Ya I think 2080 or 2080s is the best choice cuz it could handle any of those games you’d stream
1500$ baseline build
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZPFcXv
No monitor or periph
@fleet pagoda you got a 240hz monitor or smth?
because new monitor or mouse or keyboard or headset is extra expense not included in the list
Yeah ik idk how people can afford like 3 monitors and a good pc
it's called 5000$ budget :P
they get lower end monitors
😮
Good 1080p 144hz monitor is just ~180$
cheap Fry's monitors ftw
Mine was 200 i think
rocking dual upstar 24" displays
decent 60hz 1080p displays are like 80$ per anyways
Why would i get bad fps drops like sometimes my fps will drop to like 2
😪
ok guys so, earlier today i wanted to enable XMP so i went into bios, then when i enabled it it kept on saying this pc has ran into a error. and so i reset cmos and i forgot all my settings. turns out that it was my mobo that couldn’t handle that many mhz. so then later on i found out that my hard drive was never working in the first place so i go into bios to see the problem and i couldn’t find it out. so now either my hard drive or my sata cable doesn’t work. then a go back and play valorant. then my pc says “this device has ran in to a error” and i reset it and then it happened again and i reset it and again. so then i turned off my pc. and also im having weird frame spikes and stuff this pc has so many problems and i don’t know how to fix them.
uhh try formatting your hdd if you can't detect it in this pc
i7 8700k 1070ti 2x8 3200 strix z370 itx 660p noctua nh l9i good for 1500 aud or should i offer the seller like 1300 or less
Well, I put in my order for my monitor. It's on backorder, but I figured I might as well get in line. Otherwise who knows when the next time it'll be openly available. I get my new mechanical keyboard tomorrow, provided the delivery doesn't get stuck in one spot for days. Piece by piece, I'm assembling my peripherals in anticipation of my new PC build.
@mortal rampart changed it up, 1650$ budget
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TvP2dm thoughts now?
You know the price of the 2700x isn't included right? @next tangle
Or yoh gonna use the one you have rn?
yup lol
heavy rendering here and there
also for aesthetics
and fans are to fill all the fan slots in the case
You don't even have that many slots lul
He already has three in the front
He's using a three slot radiator
So he only has one in the back
Oh fans
Ya
I thought you meant ram
Didn't mean like dim slots Lmao
Why lmao
What’s the cheapest gaming and streaming pc y’all can build? Mainly streaming rocket league... maybe some modern warfare.
Modern warfare is hard to run
Anyways using all new parts 800$ is usually a good starting budget
hey is someone willing to build me a good pc for free
im two broke to aford a good oneo
▶️ 9. No sweepstakes/giveaways, e-begging, trading or selling on this server.
Rule #9
Given that it's not allowed an that it would set me back a few hundred bucks, I'ma gonna go with no
I can give tips on where to find cheap parts though
don’t have much money to spend, is this decent? any big bottlenecks i should know about?
tell me if the link doesn’t work
well no need for a aio cooler for that cpu, so why not use that money to get a way better ryzen?
i would drop the AIO and put that money into a better CPU/GPU combo
yeah that’s what i thought
you can always pick up a couple of RGB case fans later if you want a similar aesthetic
i didn’t really know if i needed the aio since the cpu comes with a stock cooler i’d be fine with using
and unless you have an SSD already, i'd look at adding one for a boot drive
yeah the amd stock cooler is perfectly fine and has rgb
booting off an HDD is painful
depends on the ryzen you buy, not all the coolers have the rgb ring
my stock cooler on my 2600 doesn't
and unless you have an SSD already, i'd look at adding one for a boot drive
@spiral zealot yeah, they’re pretty expensive, which is why i decided not to. will look into that
you can get a $30-$40 ssd to boot from
the 2700x and 3700x we upgraded my wife to had it so assumed they all did
i don’t really care about the rgb, still my first build and i will probably upgrade it as i go along
started and upgraded to
staying around $900 budget?
ok yeah that will definitely work for a boot drive
and any good budget gpus i could look at? preferably under $150
nah all good
and it didn't remove the 2tb drive but it should of
Yeah finding things in stock is the hard part right now
Or in stock and not marked up
Could someone help me with a problem that I recently started getting with my cpu please?
make sure its amazon selling it a lot of the 3rd party sellers are making things up a LOT
yeah
Is wifi needed?
@oak galleon whats going on with your CPU?
Is wifi needed?
@sand falcon yeah but i could just buy a wifi stick
Wifi is expensive rn
The temps have recently started going really high, like on idle usage the temps have went up to 60
reapply thermal paste?
Hey, there's a ds3h wifi 🙂
Have you done the following:
- Checked fans to make sure they aren't clogged with dog fur or dust?
- Are the inputs to the PC blocked or clogged?
- Have the ambients in the room changed to make the pc hot? Being in a room thats 80f will make the pc hotter
I have an ac in my room that’s always on so my room is cold and I have an aio cooler
Also have you checked to make sure the fans are all spinning at the same speeds they were before, no fan curves changed?
What AIO are you using? If you turn the pump up to max does it help? Can you hear the pump making noises?
Hey, there's a ds3h wifi 🙂
@sand falcon i already bought some of the parts like the case, mobo, psu because i didn’t really know what i was doing
oh
It’s an nzxt kraken aio and how do you turn the pump up?
so what parts do you still need?
Do you have the nzxt CAM software installed?
i can always upgrade them later though, right now it’s just getting a post
Yeah
So CPU, GPU, and ram?
Should be on the cooling tab where you can change the pump and fan speeds
and maybe a couple of fans but idk
How do I know which fan it is because it shows all of my fans
I mean, I have all of my fans set to performance which is the highest setting I think
🤔
I'd say 3600, 1660s or rx570, team mp34 boot if you can afford it, the ssd that was listed before if not, and
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/z3VD4D/team-t-force-vulcan-z-16-gb-2-x-8-gb-ddr4-3200-memory-tlzgd416g3200hc16cdc01
are all of them spinning on the aio? could be a problem
Yeah without making a custom setting it is the highest one in there. Its been a long while since I used it but should say cpu for the fans plugged into the cooler
Have you checked to see if the radiator is all full of dust? If they get clogged will kill airflow and things will get hot
I'd say 3600, 1660s or rx570, team mp34 boot if you can afford it, the ssd that was listed before if not, and
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/z3VD4D/team-t-force-vulcan-z-16-gb-2-x-8-gb-ddr4-3200-memory-tlzgd416g3200hc16cdc01
@sand falcon yeah that looks great
Oh it might be the radiator being clogged😮😮
Do I just take the fans off to see if it’s clogged?
Yeah don't do it with the pc on though as the cpu temp will jump fast
i took a apart a friends old system and their AIO had a straight up single piece of dust that had turned itself into a carpet
between the rad and fan
it was like dryer lint
yeah that could be it
😬😬😬
Ok I’ll check that tomorrow morning and hopefully that’s the problem thanks guys
yup
no problem if it is a quick blast from canned air will clean it out and should be good as new
lol acting like i did something
😂
looking at all of these parts really tells you how overpriced PC parts are
they’re expensive mainly because they’re “brand new”
Is a ryzen 3600 good with a EVGA gtx 1650 super?
ok
I am video editing but, not much. I'm looking more for a gpu that kind of focuses more on gaming but, a little bit on video editing
anyone waiting for the new gpus coming out?
i have a project for an overkill build, it's all white and i'm not a professional, lemme know that you think https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Ny0l92/saved/#view=B7C2Vn
should i go for an intel 10600k or a ryzen 7 3700x paired with a 2070super?
for mostly gaming, a bit of graphic design, some editing, and maybe streaming
3700x
more so focused on the games
is the performance gap huge for those two chips in gaming?
no not really
but if ur doing streaming, editing, or graphic design, ryzen 3rd gen is best
is it a huge difference in the creative work world?
yes
Yes, 10600k only has 6 cores
3700x should vastly outperform it in everything besides gaming lol
and will the intel vastly outperform it in gaming? or is it close
Its very close
but even in gaming the 3700x is still really good
You probably wouldn't even notice it tbh
yep. ripjaws
Pairs very nicely with 3rd gen
oo @buoyant flame I saw a gr8 deal for that
Ripjaws?
SEE MORE DEALS from Newegg.com
Cl18 tho :\
oo didn't see that
Hi tech guys
Sup
Ya, its still a decent price
i changed it
Do i got nice christmas trees in my name?
im trying to do 700 dollars
Seems decent, gl finding that psu in stock tho @mossy citrus
u dont have a case @mossy citrus
sleeper
o
should i get 3200
yea
He will use the motherboard box as case xddd
3200g?
3200mhz
Or 3200mhz
^
3600 mhz isn't worth the extra 30$
im trying to budget on it
don't rlly need cl16 either
3600mhz cl18 > 3200mhz cl16
(For third gen)
In ram higher or lower cache latency better
Lower
lower
1650s is good value
Ya
So what if i choose the lowest possible cl then find the biggest frequency one among the lowest cl ones?
yes
1650 gddr6 is 128 bit
Anything lower than cl16 is gonna be very expensive
i dont see any light on there is it posting?
Go for 192 bit cards atleast
And not rly necessary
Doesn't rly fit in the "budget" category anymore then lol
Obviously those cards perform better but they cost more
Yes if u go with 8 core threadripper 3.8ghz
1650 has a good price to performace ratio
8 core threadripper 3.8 ghz is not that expensive
2060 ko
ye
Tr4
Wut
Socket
And
shall i stickerbomb my pc case
Silicon power m2 nvme 1 tb ssd?
Nice name @bright shale
I don't like stickers on my pc
i have a eurofighter typhoon uniform badge on my side panel covering up my hdd cage
black and red
Cool
its sick
Send a pic in #build-pics
ok
Lol
bought those to entertain the neighbor kid
First, threadripper on TR4 be last gen with worse IPC
Second, expensive mobo
Third, need model not brand name for SSD
I bent the graphics port shield on my Radeon RX 550 4GB to make it fit in my case before realizing the case was adjustable. Do you have any suggestions as to how to obtain a port shield and/or use something comparable to mount it?
I already contacted the manufacturer and they cannot assist
Buy a thicker sheet of metal and stamp a replica??
Will pay if someone has a A003 port shield laying around 💯
@dark eagle might be cheaper just to get a new card for 200-250
200-250? RX 550 is nowhere near that much
Grab a newer card like the 1650 super for like 160$
If you bent any of the ports I don't think it's easy to fix it
I took the plate off
No damage done to card...just need new way to mount it
It was $100 btw
I'm @dark eagle just logged into my account
What if I buy a small sheet of metal, a diamond hole punch, and do it myself?
ko
Threw in a 600W, 4gb gpu, 16gb ram, and full send on the marketplace
doubt u could dyi it tho
Not with that attitude!
lol
I'll honestly custom mount it in my personal pc and buy another
My gtx 750 is due for an upgrade...............................................
xD
kicked from chat for inferior hardware
Should be possible to make it yourself
Thats what I was thinkinnn hoenstly
My case doesn't have an hdd sled, so I've been working on making one
My new psu didn't fit so I had to drill new screw holes >,< this has been quite the first pc experience
what case and what PSU?
It's a HP Compaq 8200 Elite CMT PC
And I put in a Thermaltake TR2 600W ATX 12 V2.3 PSU
TR2
Listennnnn I'm just tryna flip itttt
Don’t get cheap power supplies
Even for a flip
If it fails, who are they gonna call?
Ghostbusters
And if it sparks and burns something in their house, you have a possible lawsuit on your hands...
It’s unlikely and worst case scenario, but possible
Tsk tsk
BR
Do you know about the power supply tier list? @junior current
is cheap
it works
It's my first flip, I bent the port shield I dont know tooooo much
Ngl
Lol
Noobie coming in hot
PSU Tier List 4.0 rev. 13.1 welcome to the brand new PSU Tier List! Created and maintained by @DatTestBench, @Stefan Payne, @GreatMasterAden, @Juular, @Elisis, @Maurice from Madagascar, @boghubodaghi and @LukeSavenije Last Update: 02-06-2020 Commonly mentioned terms: Spoiler P...
In the pins of this channel, there’s a tier list that shows power supplies and their tiers
Oh and it’s posted above :P
B and above is good
gray ones have slight issues
I don't flip PCs but by pricing BR is usually really cheap and still decent
Ok so according to that, my psu is good for mid range systems, which is what I'm attempting to build...so it should be ok
I mean
So here’s what I’ve put together in my head for flips:
If the build is $250 or less, tier D is acceptable. Tier C is preferred.
If it’s $260-350 tier C is acceptable and B is preferred. Anything above $400 should be tier B. B+ is for anything over $600, and tier A is for anything over $1k.
And these prices are just for the parts, not how much you’re selling for
That’s my two cents
Never get a tier E
Mega death
I personally wouldn't go below B for anything
just sorting by cheapest on pcpp there's 2 tier B PSUs
Cheapest power supply I’ve used is EVGA W1. I’m not going any lower than that
ofc if you're going for a 200$ build used PSU and tier D would be fine
add a dGPU into the mix then I'm not going below tier B
I bookmarked that page that's very helpful
PSU prices have gone down... or they’re going down slowly it looks like. That’s super exciting
A 500w EVGA BR for $50 yessssss
Ok well I guess arguably this build is a cheap build lol. It was free and im just trying to make at most $100 profit lol.
what mobo is better, Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Hero (WI-FI) ATX AM4 Motherboard (https://tinyurl.com/y5dgnpo6) vs GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Pro WiFi (AMD 3rd Gen Ryzen AM4/X570/ATX/PCIe4.0/DDR4/Realtek ALC1220-Vb/Fins-Array Gaming Motherboard (https://tinyurl.com/y3u45deb)
But you guys are sketching me out and im afraid imma burn down someones house lol wtfff
Lol it’s unlikely, but... possible :P
if you get a low end psu
then ur build is gone
so be careful
go for cheap but not too cheap
I think your PSU will be fine since it’s not the worst @junior current. Just maybe get a little better next time
I will! Thanks for everyones input!
For sure. Come back if you need any more help :)
https://pcpartpicker.com/user/billyisaqt/saved/gDkGqs Dream Build o:
i want to recolor the white parts on the case to a light blue
and i probably could’ve gone for a higher end cpu but i don’t really care
What's a good but reasonable price cpu cooler for intel?
And good motherboard for Intel
Say around 400 in total for both the cpu cooler and motherboard
I already have it, I have the Omen obilesk pre built and it is a loud
So I wanted and upgrade for the cpu cooler and motherboard
@little osprey ^
ok
Any suggestions?
