got jedi galactic order titan xp open box for litterally 500$
for reference, new it's abt 2000$
Yeah, and I got a AX1200I for $100 on ebay
owo
Open box 🙂
Yeppers
Would it be fine if I changed the ram to this one:
It’s not letting me send the link
Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory
I will make this case work with iCue if it's the last thing I'll do
@clear remnant that is slower ram, and speed does matter on ryzen. But if you are willing to make the sacrifice...
I won’t do it then
I was also wondering if it’s worth it to upgrade the cpu to a Ryzen 7 3800x for $27 more
No
no
@clear remnant
it's only 100 mHz extra boost clock
tbh idk why amd released it
As a 3800x owner, no.
Ok, so stick with the 3700x?
Yes
yeah by a little but it’s not worth $50 more or a lot more
Okay
should i go with a 10600k or a 3800x
What is your use case?
gaming, streaming and a smal bit of editing
What's your budget? Do you already have the rest of the system?
no just thinking about it my budget is around 1700 pounds
So basically we're looking at a 2080 super or 2080 ti in this system?
2080 super
Will you be overclocking?
I'd go intel then
ok thanks
no...
USERNAME says intel best for everything
not true
amd ryzen best for budget systems and threadripper for rendering/cadding systems
So I have an upgrading question to ask. First off here are my specs for my PC, just looking to see what the next logical upgrade should be for right now or in the near future:
B450 Aorus M
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 OC 6G
Ryzen 5 2600
NZXT Kraken M22 AIO
2 x 8gb Gskill Trident Z DDR4
2.5GB Hard Drive Storage
500GB M.2 Storage
What should be the part that I should replace first?
depending on the game it can get up 120-150FPS on the high and 30FPS at the low
yea, but that wasn't my question
what is the resolution of ur monitor, and refresh rate
1920 X 1080 and 75Hs
ffff
monitor for sure
get 2k @ 144 or 165
that's abt 300-350$
couple that with a 2070 super, ur awesome
what's the upgrade budget? @sharp latch
I was thinking around $500 but if its monitor AND Card, I'm gonna have to rethink things.
it's all good, just wanting to put things in perspective.
instead of those, get a 3700+new mobo, which'll put u at abt 500
or
get a 2070s
and set urself up for the next upgrade to be monitor
or, if it's for gaming, get new peripherals
Great, i appreciate the insight. now I know what to look for.
mhm
Dont upgrade cpu
cooling, ram, storage is fine
Don’t upgrade the cpu
Asus rog Strix 5700 XT or a 2070 super?
streaming or no?
Rest of the stem can handle streaming with a 5700xt
someone help me with my build
if you don't want to leverage NVENC, then go 5700xt, it's cheaper
i need to make sure my build parts will work
@spiral zealot well 2070s does have slightly better perf
I was just about to ask that
and if you want ray tracing
someone help me with my build
@little oak
it does, but personally i'd save the $$S
I would too, but he said his system could stream with out nvec
3800x 32g DDR 4 3800mhz m.2 nvme main drive 1tb ssh (sata2) secondary
imo, the performance between the two is close enough that unless you want the bonus of using NVENC, it's not worth the 2070s price
but that's just me
I would go 2080s
there aren't enough games using ray tracing for that to really factor in
More then double the price
Also looking for a card that has a water block made for it
That's why I went with the Asus rog Strix 5700xt
do you already have everything purcahsed?
For liquid cooling?
no the rest of the system
whats the purpose of your system?
whats the main purpose
Programming
Ok then go wwitha 5700xt its cheaper
the gpu
Depends on what you will be doing
I get have a 2700x and 1660s and I get CPU bottlenecked more often than GPU bottlenecked
Thanks guys
Im having trouble getting to post and I've tried checking the cables are secured tightly, taking out the motherboard battery and then putting it back, reapplying the cpu and thermal paste, taking out the ram, putting in a graphics card. If anyone can help me trouble shoot this that would be great!
What motherboard
There's a led on your board right?
yeah I noticed a few on the upper right half, close to the ram
theres a few mini white ones and then there is a red one
Anyone have a good 600$ build they r willing to share
@little osprey I'd start off with a ryzen 3 with a rx 570 to start you off or even a 470
Ty
@regal basalt pretty sure the red led is a issue with your cpu
you think that mean I have to update the bios? (the box said ryzen 3000 ready and my cpu is a 3800x
What revision is your board?
@little osprey I'd start off with a ryzen 3 with a rx 570 to start you off or even a 470
@regal basalt You can probably get better with 600 than that
Do the LEDs have any lables?
@little osprey
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7XwpTC
Here's a decent 600 dollar build
Yo I have a question. I have a asus tuf gaming x570 motherboard. It has wifi support. Do I have to download a program to enable wifi or can I just build my system and wifi should already be supported to connect to the internet?
It should be able to use wifi out of the box
so the led that is lit is dram @sand falcon im trying to locate the revision and im still looking for it @orchid canyon
Okay. Cause I don’t have an ethernet cable right now so.
I kinda need it to connect to wifi
Dram sounds like it would be more of a ram issue, so that's interresting. You said it's not able to post?
Yes @sand falcon It powers on the fans and rgb but the monitor doesn't show a connection. so i thought maybe its posting but i can't see the screen so I ran a test with a console. Monitor works.
Okay. It shouldn't make a difference, but what slots are the ram sticks in?
they are not in but when I did try them in it was in slot a2 b2
Try putting in the ram and then see what the LEDs show
the light is telling me its the cpu
Dang
now its not on but the vga light is now on
Hello everyone I had some questions, I have about a 2,500 dollar budget for my pc adding in a monitor and high end mouse and keyboard. But I never built a PC before just only ever had prebuilt ones and laptops. I want to built this one myself but I am extremely scared of messing up and don’t even know where to begin
The only thing I know for sure is that I want the centerpiece of my build be a 2080 super
no but im going to try that now @sand falcon
@regal basalt Cool. Most motherboards won't boot without a gpu installed
@knotty ruin Does that budget include monitor, keyboard, and mouse?
Yes
Do you have any monitors currently that you would be able to use as secondary displays?
I do it’s a pretty new office monitor my mom is giving me but I’d really like a kickass monitor for my primary
I just don’t know where to start
Start at pcpartpicker
I did and I know kinda what I want but I’m confused with the parts and such
Like the CPU I’m so torn between AMD and Intel
pure gaming or do you do anything else
if it's pure gaming, go Intel 10600k or 10900k
If you do other stuff, AMD 3700x or 3900x or 3950x might make more sense
I’m pure gamin
Basically what I want to do is run Cod on max graphics with ray tracing
Have you picked a case?
https://pcpartpicker.com/products/case/
Take a look at some cases to find one that looks nice and we'll pick out some systems to go in it
Do you need wifi?
Does ray tracing make that much of a difference?
Oh yes I need Wifi
No ethernet 😦
My college doesn’t have their Ethernet stuff turned on so when i go back I have to take my own hotspot
Reason: Bad word usage
Whoops
Can you request the ethernet to be activated?
I tried and they won’t idk why
That's annoying
Colleges should be required to have one ethernet jack per bed in dorms
Ikr
And I live in the middle of nowhere in Virginia so we don’t have good internet, my hotspot is really good though, that’s why I need WiFi
Sounds good
@sand falcon I'm installing windows 10 as we speak tysm.
@knotty ruin amd good intel stinky
Why is Intel stinky?
Price
Because they overprice
Amd is best for gaming imo u can spend an extra 100 on ur gpu
I got my case picked out I think
Until you get uo to the higher budgets. If you're getting a 2080 super either way than who knows
Whatcha got?
Is the 1650 super better than a rx 560?
Depends on what you're doing
i be gaeyming
that's gaey(ming)
I honestly have no clue which one would be better
@knotty ruin What would you say to a 2080 ti?
I’d prefer a 2080 super I hear the 2080 TI is a lot slower and just as expensive?
I would say wawi expensive
2080ti is faster
Smh spending 1200 on a gpu 🙅♀️
Hey ummmmmm I just built a pc and the debug led says it’s the cpu I unplugged the cpu power cable and plugged it back in and it still says that. I reseated the cpu and it still says cpu problem what else can I do
#budget gaeymerting
I got mine for 1k :p
I wanna be able to run like Red dead, COD and all the other stuff max graphics with ray tracing if at all possible
I reseated it already
Might as well go for 2080 ti then. I think I can fit it in the budget
What’s mauls budget?
USA cash yes
USA cash be rolllinngngggg
I got benefits in of ab 11 thousand dollars and so I’m paying off my moms debt putting 5k towards a car and all
And yes RTX on
Do you have any harddrives from old systems you will want in this one?
Reason: Bad word usage
oops
Nah it’s all old god I gotta watch my cussing
I'd say that storage is storage, but up to you
I would like a 2 TB harddrive and a SSD
That's what I've got. Right now I'm trying to decide what cooler to use here
I won’t be overclocking doubt I need 2
Reason: Bad word usage
Well, you'll need some sort of cooler 🙂
Smh the one out of the box will be enough 🐶
Hello there
1 fan can handleeeee ittt
Maybe
Yeah I do need a cooler I meant like I won’t be tryna push stuff
3080ti
Hey mr1111, stock cooler for the 3700x?
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6BsWp8 what y’all think of this
Stock is fine if you want to leave on default
600 budget
prism is a good cooler
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9MQz3t what would this build be good for? @stoic island I forgot. Also yeah the GPU price hasn't been fixed yet
that's just for an all purpose build
you can game
you can video edit
you can render
Can you stream and game
yes
If i considered upgrading it in the future what would i do?
@stoic island First that is?
dunno
depends on what comes out next generations
3700x should be capable for a while
2080ti maybe even longer
It would depend on what you do
and what comes out next
What would be the better option? B450 tomahawk( $125) or b550 gaming plus ( $150)
if AMD and Nvidia starts doing the Intel doctrine, might be a decade before you have to upgrade ;)
B550 DS3H
95$
fite me
@knotty ruin Got a rough hack together. I'll let the others improve it
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QV79Mc
Bob what's the purpose?
I'll edit it.
@sand falcon budget and purpose?
can someone help me make the absolute best $500 pc build?
It’s for me @stoic island budget is 2500 and for gaming only
Are b450 motherboards even worth it now that b550 are out??
depends on their price
a 80$ b450 board can still beat out a 120$ b550 board for price to perf yaknow
wait
What about b450 tomahawk $125 vs msi b550 gaming plus $150
Need monitor under 2500$?
What about neither of those boards
and B550 ds3h for 95$
@knotty ruin 1080p or 1440p gaming?
What about b450 tomahawk $125 vs msi b550 gaming plus $150 @stoic island
why do you only have those 2 options?
if it's regional, I'll look regional for you
but both of those are not good options for the price
B550 DS3H, the one I linked, at 95$
Oh ok thanks
@stoic island I dmd you about it
Kinda
Hi, new here... my computer died finally and I am looking to build a new one that is basically the PC equivalent of something like an iMac Pro. I understand that I need to select a processor, memory, and storage. In building out the perfect iMac, I included their 2.3GHz 18-core Intel Xeon W processor, Turbo Boost up to 4.3GHz, 128GB 2666MHz DDR4 ECC memory, Radeon Pro Vega 64X with 16GB of HBM2 memory, and
2TB SSD storage. While this was way above my price range, my brother indicated that I could build a PC-component based unit with excellent parts for much less. I have no idea what PC components to look at that would be on par with the ones I listed. I am not committed to those parts in particular, that was just a wish list build-out on the Apple site. I am definitely open to suggestions as to which of these may be too much or not enough. I am working with the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite as well as a few other design-based software products and will be creating craft-training and how-to videos in the near future. I know this isn't anywhere near the level of need that a game programmer or action video developer would need but I am also concerned about buying something I'll outgrow quickly and have to replace too soon.
Thanks for any and all help.
Alright
@little osprey Here's an example for something on the consumer platform that's similar
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yfkmtp
3.5GHz 16-core AMD 3950x, 64gb 3600mhzcl16 memory, RTX 2080ti with 11GB of GDDR6 memory
with 2TB NVMe SSD storage
3000$ is final cost
Bought a AMD and it gave me a fan but I also got a Cooler Master fan because I thought it wouldn't come in with one
Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition CPU Air Cooler, 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes, 120mm RGB Fan
It says on the AMD, Wraith Prism Cooler
On the 3600, it comes with a Wraith Stealth. 3600x Wraith Spire, 3700x/3800x/3900x Wraith Prism, and 3950x doesn't come with one
well, you could just return the 212
Thought about it
whichever is more convenient for you
the 212 isnt gonna perform better than the stock cooler enough to make it worth the cost of the 212
if you need that 20$ or so refund, refund it
if you like the rgb on the prism, use it
if you like the look of the 212, use it
I still have my stock coolers, a wraith spire and a wraith prism
could sell it later on ebay or smth
both are decent
Honestly it was just 44 bucks and I dont know how to return items and also decided to just save it for another PC,
And then sell it
Or something
@cursive wharf Thank you for that... I looked at it but honestly have no idea what I am looking at or where to begin on that list. Wish I were tech-intelligent, but sadly.... just an artist.
@little osprey What programs do you use?
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MHG6wh I’m finalizing my 600 $ build + monitor and keyboard. This is my build rn if u have any suggestions / refinements please tell me my overall budget is 950 (the monitor I’m getting is a 130 dollar one on Newegg that doesn’t show up on pcpartpicker)
Only thing I would change is dropping the mobo back a bit
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/hpRzK8/gigabyte-b450m-ds3h-micro-atx-am4-motherboard-b450m-ds3h
This one saves you 22 bucks and will work just as well
@sand falcon reason I didn’t get b450 is cuz sold out everywhere or has become like 200
Lol
So I guess I’m good with my build
That board I linked is in stock
Wait fr🙈🙉
Lol wasn’t in stock yesterday pretty sure XD
Well this is why I am on this disc ig
Fun evening repasting my laptop :)
Anyone here who can help me with something? I have a question regarding my gaming PC
just ask, then if someone is able to help they will answer you
Ok, this might sound kind of silly but I’m wondering if a PSU would have any impact on the PCs performance? My PC seems to be underperforming compared to my brothers, even though mine is better than his. I can post specs if needed
Specs
Also when you say underperforming compared to bros setup, are we talking drastically or minimally
Mine: Ryzen 7 2700, 16gb DDR4 3000 speed, MSI B450 Tomahawk Max, MSI Radeon 5700, Thermaltake 500w non modular
I’d say drastically. He seems to get 30 or more FPS than I do on the same games
And he runs at higher settings too
The PSU is from a pre built. I know it sketchy but I’m hoping to get a 650w soon
I can post his specs too if needed
what do they have
Definitley would shoot for a new power supply
His are: Ryzen 5 2600X, 16gb DDR4 3000 speed, TUF X470 Plus, EVGA Super Nova G3 550W
what gpu
1660 Ti
shouldn't\
you got GPU drivers?
We’re both on the latest ones. Not sure what the version numbers are
Not that I’m aware of
you should
What does it do
makes ram run at the speed it should be at
Where do I find xmp at 👀
why go for a b450 and not an x570
Because I got it before they released
ohh
how about for other people who have a choice
seems a lot of people want b450
nobody responded in #old-monitors-and-tv so i guess i’ll ask here, can someone help me out with picking out a monitor?
monitor market is wacky rn
how so?
covid
Good move
i’m just simply looking for a 144hz monitor for my buddy and see looking to spend around $200-$250
this is the one i was looking at, what’s the difference?
oh the one i sent is tn, yours is va
Is it worth getting an rtx 2080 super with an amd 7 3700X? Or should I just get an 2060 super
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/4xQG3C/ What's the exact difference between these two? https://pcpartpicker.com/product/ZhJtt6/ @stoic island
I think one has a factory OC
What does that mean exactly?
overclocked
So one of them is already overclocked and the other isn't?
idk if they use different chips still but the oc model used to have the better binned silicon for oc'ing
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/z2j3TC
should i make any changes? ping me if u think i should please
ok
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GR4vMc @cloud plank
Can anyone help me with my future build? It would help alot
idk how many ppl are on rn that could help
but theres plenty that will come in a bit probably
Hoprfully 😦
I tried many people but each say to change the thing the other said
I need someone to close my list because i cant buy anything until its closed
same thing happened with me
id say just go for performance if thats all your looking for
most of the time the only thing that changed for me was mobo and psu
gl
@cloud plank @little leaf
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/348kNq I think this one is a bit better
better mobo, better looking/higher efficiency case, better gpu
also on a side note: never get a 2060super. go for the rtx 2070 instead, same price and better performance
lol i suck at high end builds i need a system under 1.5 k i have the 32gb or corsair vengence and the lian li case so i just need the rest imma do hard line water cooling
English please
lol
So you have 32gb ram and a lian li case, your budget is $1.5k, and you want to do hardline water cooling?
As a loyal member of air cooling gang i think that’s a mistake
also, you already have a 2700? just get a b550 board, and hold on to the 2700 for now
then snag a better cpu in like a year
Are you doing this for a flip or for yourself?
Yeah just upgrade GPU
CPU doesn’t really need upgrade
And then I mean I guess you can do hardline cooling but it’s difficult for first timers and expensive
oki doke
And then yeah you could get an X570 or B550 board as an upgrade too
Intel
lol
I guess you could upgrade to a 10600k but that’s not much of an upgrade taking into account motherboard prices too
So here is my build what do y'all think.
Cpu ryzen 9 3900x
Mobo x570 I don't know what one yet
Ram gskill trident Z ddr4 3600 32gb
Cpu cooler dark rock 4
Storage Samsung 970 Evo 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive going to upgrade down the line and get more
MSI GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER 8 GB GAMING X TRIO Video Card
Silverstone RL05 ATX Mid Tower Case
And psu Corsair RM (2019) 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
I want to stay below 2000 but i am working on getting up to 1850
what are you using it for
Gaming, school, designing things on paint 3d and minor video editing but mainly the first 3
That is the list I made up
this is what I made
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/f9KQ4n
D15s is moar cooling, keeping same ram compatibility, and about same price
X570-plus wifi is a good board
MP34 is cheap and effective and reliable
1tb for about as much the 500gb Samsung drive costed
Cheaper 2080s that is still trio fan
better looking case imo but thats your choice
PSU a RM850/RM750/RM850x/RM750x all works
any of em

@Mr1111 does that cooler come in black?
It would not match and in my opinion noctua colors are really really bad looking and if I was to go with that kind of a cooler I think I would go with a dark rock pro 4
But I am looking at aio for it
I'm thinking about the NZXT Kraken Z63.
What I have found it says that cooler is the best for that's cpu
NZXT AIOs are pretty expensive tho
they're all good tho
but on the same level as say a corsair H100i
I will think it over some and watch some nitwit and ltt and see what I think
K thanks
Once I finish my build and use the usb from an old laptop 2 get windows 10 on it how exactly do I install my windows 10 key so it’s not a pirated?
Or am I completely wrong abt how everything works
theres ways to check keys
lemme find the program
theres the windows PID checker I used a bit ago
theres also a way to check with cmd
to see if pirated or smth
ohh wait you want to know how to put in win 10 key
@little osprey during installation it'll ask you for a key
but anyways heres how the PID checker looks with my own key plugged in. blocked whatever might reveal my key
Ok ty
@stoic island Would mounting a GPU vertically be better than horizontally?
depends on gap
okay
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2dQg6R what do u guys think about this build
Get a faster m.2
Like an mp34
And could get cheaper ram if you don't care about RGB
Solid build. You don't strictly need a faster ssd, but an nvme like a MP34 would be nice
Consider options from gskill if you want some cheaper rgb ram, they are usually cheaper for the same latency and speed vs Corsair options
Just saying for the price, I'm pretty sure you could get an mp34
I think they are on sale rn
But don't quote me on that
Need help upgrading my gpu, I built on a budget recently and got a cheap 1650 but I want to upgrade to a high end card that I can use for a long time, my cpu is a Ryzen 5 3600. Looking for something around 400$
Ok cool
PID checker is
Just built my first pc, the only problem is it only turns on for a few seconds n shuts off. Any ideas on what went wrong??
Sure dm me
@rigid burrow I’ll get to you after my philly cheese steak
Message me here actually so every1 can see
He
llo
So basically when I power on the pc the fans will turn on but them it all shuts off after about 5 seconds
any mobo debug lights?
Yea, have no idea what they mean tho
@celest horizon idk why you think running 2 GPUS off a single cable is a problem, but this is within spec
hey everyone, I have a budget of 1600$ (can be a little bit above) to upgrade my setup, what should I upgrade? It'd be awesome if you made a list and linked it if you like) don't worry lol, this is just a regular notepad file.
some things i didn't know exactly what model/what it was called
I would probably say 2 new monitors
And wait for new gen stuff to come out because then you could splurg on a 3000 series
@next tangle
damn, 3 things that'll be worth 1600$?
or you're saying that as a suggestion for part of it
@midnight pelican pls dont send executables.
@next tangle the monitors could range from 200-500 each depending on what you need. The 3000 series could be expensive as well.
The pcie cord that came with my psu has a extra 8 pin just dangling with no where to go, do I need to buy a seperate pcie cable?? (new to pc building)
many psu have extra cables/connectors.
if you have nothing to plug in to it, it's fine.
@rigid burrow
Ok, thanks
Well, I have my computer chair where I can actually sit in it again. Part of me wants to grab that old desktop tower and open it, if only to clean it out. It is probably so freaking full of dust at this point.
only one way to find out.
I'd probably have to take it out on the front porch. Not opening that thing in my room. It's got dust enough already.
This is the desktop tower that I think I've mentioned has been sitting there for about a decade.
finished my first pc build a few days ago and happy with results ty newegg for providing
... I see somebody is apparently taking offense to my profile pic. Sometimes a cute pic is just a cute pic.
Well guys I finally did it I ordered all the parts to build my pc for the first time
I dropped 2600 on it so ab 100 or so over budget but I’m fine with that, I’m just so scared of messing up in building it
whatd u get
about to build mine as well good luck @knotty ruin
@wary geode do you have a succulent in your computer case? 🤔😂
can someone help me with party’s
what do you need help with
What parts to pick out
what i7 do you have
8700
maybe @cursive wharf has a link to a build that will suite you. kinda need a budget
then just x out cpu/gpu
I am a bit too tired today to try and sort this out today. Quite tired rn
go nap
and just assumed you had links saved 😄
that would be a nice thing to have. maybe a list of differently priced builds that are pinned .
somewhat general lists I have saved. But they still need some changing around so eh
i have a budget of around 2500$ for a pc, i don’t know too much about computers but i wanna build my own, any help?
Oh dang that’s a massive budget I suck at those
But imma give it a try and seek help from someone maybe I do more under 1000$ pcs
@sullen robin any rgb or any color scheme
Do you want the monitor desk and such included
whats main use of PC?
Or just the Pc itself is 2500
yes rob please and i would like a black and white, or silver or white scheme
^ what he said
and just the pc
not really 🙂
why is the RX 5700XT so cheap compared to the 1080ti which is $150 more
I'll just peek in and out of chat.
the main use is gaming, i’ll also be streaming, editing videos and light rendering
Damn I got this I am rgb pro
ah ok
Ok cool cool I’ll do a Intel prob
the big one
i’ll be streaming around 4 days a week
Yep
yeah
Still gonna do intel
2,500 is a killer budget for PC only
😂 mine was 600
no shame in that
Now I build PCs for 390
5700xt is 400$
planning on about 2500 for the setup upgrade
1080ti used is ~400$
I’ll do it in a sec lemme get Chinese food
okay sounds good
do you have a current setup?
2500$ is everything except 10900k+2080ti+overkill rgb
?
Mr11 will be used for " streaming, editing videos and light rendering"
with peripherals it might drag down a bit more
i could do 3000 on the pc and 2000 for the setup
keycult time
yup
damn
mr1 likes high priced builds
ryzen
@sullen robin gaming or no gaming
Good for games
39**
i’m coming from an intel hd
3950x prob
do you prefer ryzen? or you want intel
You could go hedt
the main use is gaming, i’ll also be streaming, editing videos and light rendering
@stoic island
is what he said
i mean the 10900k is still decent at multicore stuff
lol
boxy you said I was troll
I say you are troll
Lol it’s smack
@sullen robin you play modern warfare and you made your name that or is that like your real name or something?
@native lodge hey sorry I’m back
the main use is gaming, i’ll also be streaming, editing videos and light rendering
it’s my real name
fight me
@sullen robin oh damn, nice
Still doing intel seems more rich boi
@stoic island you still are a troll, but you're my troll
Just be sure to get a intel heat sink those are good for over locking
Lol jk I’m bout to make it
:(
I bought a i7 10700k, Corsair liquid cooler, MSI Gaming edge motherboard, GeForce 2070 Super with death stranding free, Corsair case, 3 TB hard drive and 500 Gb SSD, and just a normal rated PSU
@sullen robin i guess i'll join in with making you a list, we'll see which you like most
ok thanks
I know PSUs are ranked differently but is it a bad thing I got one not ranked bronze silver gold etc?
how much storage do you expect to use and what type? @sullen robin
Like for example a 512gb boot disk, 1tb ssd to edit off of, and say a 4tb hdd to store things
A buddy sent me the one he has and he said that one he has used for years with no issue so I just ordered the same one
or like the standard 512gb/1tb ssd + 2tb hdd
who else is making grau a list?
moi
sometimes I wonder if pcpp search is broken
lmaoo
kek
Mm meshify c
All but 10900k in stock : 2700$ 10900k+2080ti
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FNG8V7
1tb ssd + 2tb hdd
standard setup
can add more as you need
@sullen robin :P
32gb ram should be good enough for editing off
you have $5000 and you dont have a keyboard smh my head
so i’m guessing this build is for 3000 for the budget?
alright
is it like rgb vomit? xD
if you want it to be
what is wrong with my auto correct
lol
@stoic island bro wait til u see my peripheral build
TD500 mesh has 3 included argb fans
you can make it go rgb vomit
it's also a very good case for airflow
okay, well mr that is option 1
btw how much storage are you planning on
you can easily add to that list if you want a specific ssd to edit off of, or need a bigger hdd for random storage
i’m gonna wait for @wary geode and @next tangle ‘s list
kk.
oh alright that sounds good
okay heres the list for peripherals https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dmqvMc
@sullen robin https://pcpartpicker.com/list/cLP47T i made one for a budget of 3000$, since you said rgb vomit, I added a lot of rgb, and a lot of storage for you, since I don't know how much you're gonna need/want. it's a wee bit over but it should be fine
not you ;p
i have 10000$ to spend, i wanna save 5000$ though
not sure why
Does anyone know good case fans on newegg that are not too expensive (mid range is fine) Ping me if you know
Box you know if anyone did 3200vs3600 on 10th gen?
@little osprey Arctic P12/P14
should be like 8$ a piece
Thanks
anyways
gimme a 10900k and some ram and ill test it for u
@sullen robin if you wanna go cheaper and go with 2500$, a wee bit over but https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KrDLZf
why tho
why those cuts
just gpu downgrade
@sullen robin More ram more storage, 10900k+2080ti at 3020$ :
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JZJLZf
I'll do a quick periph list
i kind of like hadwee’s 2500$ one since i really only need about 3tb and what looks like, he followed color scheme
and since i kinda wanna go even now that i think about it and go 2500$ setup 2500$ pc
I'd rearrange some parts at 2500$ then
good to still keep a 2080ti instead of 2080 super at 2500$
with all that extra money you could go custom loop
I don't see what you need 2500$ for setup tho
id rather just save some money for a 3080 ti instead of spend 5k rn
anyone know which celeron to use with asus b250 mining board ?
could go 2070s temporarily until 3000 series
well, that’s why i said i have 10000$ to spend but wanna save 5000$ so i can get rtx 3000 when it comes out
b250 is an amd chipset, isn't it?
and other things along with if i’d like to
Darn chipset names
this is a pretty overkill for a setup and still just 1600$
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hnpTL2
don’t i need a microphone?
https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/B250-MINING-EXPERT/HelpDesk_CPU/
Here's a list of CPU support
Intel® B250 Chipset quick reference guide including specifications, features, pricing, compatibility, design documentation, ordering codes, spec codes and more.
or does that headphones have one
that headset has a mic but if you want really good sound
you need dedicated mic and dac and amp
and different headphone
yeah i want really good sound
@sullen spoke need ya then
Ya I am on the page but I'm confused which 1151 celeron chip to buy 🤔
it's a complicated setup
i work in an audio studio so i’m fine
@sinful canyon what will you be doing with the system?
Gaming 😉 🤣
...
Um
what about no for gaming?
You want to game with a celeron on a mining board?
that board only supports 2c2t celerons
an optiplex 3010 for 125$ would be better
yea
running 8 1660ti's on it
@sullen robin what do you imagine to be your setup? like a triple monitor setup, or just an ultrawide monitor?
im packing my bags and leaving
have a good time!
Grr ping ping
Yes
what i’ve been dreaming about is 2 monitors and an ultra wide
Mining is pretty light on CPU, right?
I believe so, as few the other guys told me stay with basic caleron for the board yet I'm unsure which one
Who needs audio
deaf people don't
If they do it right they just upload a kernel to the GPU, send it some numbers, and wait
I've mined with towers for yrs
ultra wide for productivity and the 2 monitors, one for ps4 when i need to and the other for pc
pc gaming
so I'm evolving to rig setup
you can use ultrawide for everything
Is 1660ti good bang for the buck? ti usually has a lower price to performance
Let me check some prices for used teslas
ehh i don’t really like the black bars on the side
energy efficient
for some she’s the resolution will be different
oh scaling issues
then it also depends n the algo you mine
holy crap my auto correct sucks
console scaling would be horrible
yeah
on ultrawide lol
some algo's are mem intensive
you could just go triple monitor setup
3xMag272cqr
@sullen robin you are one looking for sound?
some rely on gpu
Does xb1/ps4 support 1440p?
I would recommend an FPGA over GPU if you want power effeciency
no
lol
might need a separate 1080p monitor for your console lmao
i only got a. 63 inch desk lol
Who dare ping me
will it be enough
Bob you get me a full time dev that can change up the streams 24/7 on demand I'll go all fpga
Who need and for what
no thanks .. fpga
2500 for whole pc setup?
I'd say 1000-1500$ for monitors
nope peripherals only
Oh jeez
If you have a single use case mathematical algorithm, fpga is almost always the way to go for speed and effeciency
for older pow coins that are stable I agree, I tend to do allot spec mining
i was thinking about this monitor that’s asus 144hz 0.5ms with gsync, three of them for 250 each
How is speculative any different on a GPU than an fpga? You still need to make the kernel
yeah 1080p since i have no needs and won’t ever for 1440p and up
Haha ye for interface you can look at goxlr or I think rode procaster it is, both great. Mic depends what you use for. Sm7b sounds great, needs to be a bit close and can be quiet, you can look up how they pair with with rode and goxlr, might need a cloudlifter if it too quiet
Well it's just 1440p looks nicer
imo, it's harder to right fast and efficient CUDA code than it is to write fast and efficient hdl
lol 2500 for peripherals and only going 1080p is a little overkill
and bigger monitor without pixel density being bad
imo i can’t see the difference
FPGA are set on streams, with gpu's tend to create your own bat file's
you've tried 27in 1080p vs 27in 1440p?
yeah
there is a different
how far do you sit from your monitor?
2 centimeters
Screen eat you
For either you write the code and upload it. You would need to learn the new language but it's not too bad
20 inches
You could try a 27in 1440p 165hz monitor + 24in 1080p 144hz monitor at the start to see if you really can or can't see a difference
you'll need the 1080p monitor for console stuff anyways
and if you don't like 1440p, return it
but should i really spend 1200 on just monitors
that's what many people do
The big difference is that a GPU is locked into a certain configuration, so you have to work around that if you want speed. With an FPGA you get to pick the configuration, so you don't really need to worry about it
well
