so, you have the system completly built?
Debug led?
yup, was working a bit ago til i switched out the ram.....no devug working.....power switch next to the debug wont work either
one of the first things that happens that indicates that the system is attempting to power on is the fans will spin
are your fans spinning when you try to turn it on
no power to anything cept for the mobo rgb lights
I wonder if it's just doing memory training
fans would spin tho
yeah
try that
and make sure your ram is seated properly
and check the power switch
We should get a guide to how to reset cmos pinned :p
make sure its properly connected to the headers on the board
Ye ram slot 2 and 4 :D
no luck with the reset cmos
pull out battery and wait, or use screwdriver and jump reset cmos pins
yup
how long did you hold it
@viral ore some boards have a header you can jump to reset cmos
asrock taichi ult x470
yeah ik
Eh thought you meant something else by hold it lol
i have 2 buttons to reset cmos....neither worked
Button, fancy
pull out all ur ram
Do you need to hold those?
try and start pc
Not sure how those button worked
maybe, i guess hold them for at least 5 seconds
i go for 10 sec...lol
ok, pull all ram out
start pc
do fans spin or no
because this doesnt really sound like a memory issue
and i wanna b sure
ohh, are your fans plugged into a fancy fan hub, or directly to the motherboard
ram out...still nothing
Gonna guess you already checked the power cables
me to hub, most to either mobo or psu
did you only swap ram? did anything else happen
only major was ram...minor was gpu
something else must have happened to this system aside from the ram
what did your gpu do
am switching this build to something else, hence switching out stuff
my other gpu and ram will go into my b550 board once i get it
nice, because something in this system is dead
unless you just have a loose psu connection
the motherboard isnt returning PS_ON to the psu
i checked all of the wiring and all is nice and snug
so its the underlying motherboard subsystem that handles power on
this includes the motherboard and cpu
nadda...not that fancy
Though, does the GPU fans spin?
nadda
they shouldnt, the psu isnt supplying 12v
i have a 6pin connected to it
Anyways
so, it could be a psu issue, it could be the board returning a weak PS_ON voltage, or the board might not be returning anything on PS_ON, the cpu could be totally dead,
but, from what you have done to the pc, none of these even seem remotely likely
that would suck for dead cpu...only had it month...lol
Most likely is probably mobo
pre post issues are hardware problems
only had it a month as well...lol
very little
CPUs don't really just die, nor do PSUs, but the board not sending ps_on or whatever is possible
idk if by chance it was too much, and it just so happened to finally creep its way into the socket
ok
ok, you can test just the psu
Paperclip method?
safty pin it is
Something you can bend
A question for anyone who's not busy: what would be the best Budget Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac)+Bluetooth PCI-e card, compatible for Windows 10 and maybe Linux...?
(edit) I'm looking at this by the way: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084JPFKQ5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Z1e9EbX0VZ7PN
you need to stick two ends of something conductive into the psu 24 pin, so both ends have to be accessible
Haven't looked in a while but this was good a bit ago
https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Bluetooth-Wireless-Network-AC905C/dp/B07L777MTB/@rugged spear
Ooooo, MSI!
Eh the one you linked is better
And Cheaper!
Thst one is the cheapest decent one I found a while ago
might as well, think about it as an investment
Eh the one you linked is better
@Mr1111
Really? I know MSI but I've never heard of...TP-LINK before, so I was worried....
Afaik all MSI has is rebranded Intel network card on a board
Tp link does a lot of networking stuff
https://www.newegg.com/fenvi-fv-ax3000-pci-express/p/0XM-00JK-00075
@SassyFish256
Really nice card, but only compatible with one OS: Windows 10 64bit...
for home networking, tp-link, cisco, ubee, motorola, and linksys are the bois to trust
anywheres in the 24 pin?
TP link Cisco and Linksys are the major ones I know
cool cool.
I really appreciate the information here. Thank you guys so much!
@stoic island
@viral ore
@barren kindle
np
this is looking into the psu 24 pin cable
you need to ground pin 16 to pin 15
Just ps on and ground
both ends just on the 24 pin and not the mobo, right?
problem solved....it was the gpu
anyone got any info on the motherboard shortage x570
Yeah msi is usually gone or priced high
yeah exactly
I'm having a problem where my PC starts up but it freezes on the window loading screen
did you do something right before that happened
I wish I knew how to help 😔
what os are you on
No I just could the PC and it does it any time I turn it on and windows 10
Build the PC*
so you never got into windows with this new build?
No
I have when I did it it was a fresh install and I tested the hard drive on my old dell tower
And it works great on that one
wait so you took out the drive from the old computer and put it in the new one expecting it to work?
I don't think it works that way lmao
When I did I wiped the drive to a fresh window install
You gotta do a "license transfer"
did you do the fresh install on the old dell tower then move the drive?
Yes but I never booted the system when the wipe was done
yea that is going to cause problems
can you do a fresh install with the drive on the new system
No cuz it never get past that screen
I tried that but does the same thing
hm
The only thing I haven't tested is the motherboard and CPU
But I think it is the motherboard
do you have a video of trying to boot from the usb drive
No and I had to get the USD Drive back
I may just take to to a PC repair shop close to me if I can't fix it
ok
Eyyy we have the same ssd
Should i check if microcenter has stuff stocked then buy online then go to microcenter?
Should i ask if they can price thingy
Or should i go and scout then order my parts then come back then buy the parts i scouted
I’d say get a mobo and cpu from microcenter they got good deals for them but everything else if it’s cheaper online or at other stores get it from there
For ur other parts
does anyone have any experience with deepcool power suppllies?
@austere mango does MC have price matching?
I want to save as much as i can
And should i order online then go to mc?
Ram is cl18 and ssd is overpriced, also that cooler isn't gonna be much better than stock. The case also doesn't have great airflow but thats just preference
This is what i would do (besides the case)
Budget?
I like gaming and streaming and moicie production
Budget under 1k American dollars
Movie*
how do i backorder a psu?
Do Rtx 2070 super perform same as rx 5700 xt
No
I don't know much about building PCs
2070 super overall better
MC has price matching right ?
Dunno
ill ask then
I'll go make a 1000$ list tho
And compare to rtx 2060 super
@plucky iris who you talking about
Talking about comparing the 2060s to the 5700xt
Yes
how many watts do i need for a 2060 super?
Yea windforce is a good card
Well you'll have to consider all the other parts in your build
on pcpartpicker it says like 364 watts
2060 super itself TDP is 175w
Get 650 watts for the future
some person on bestbuy said that on the box it says 550 is needed
550/650
^
wdym 650 for the future
450 works if it has 2x8 pin for vga power
If you want to add components in the future or more powerful hardware you'll need those extra watts
Well heres this for 970$
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8TLb9G
for a streaming build
I'm wondering if I can cut some corners and get a 2060 super
How much for 3300x?
R7 3700x compare to i5 10500
but ko good for other work
@stoic island what do you mean when u say 650W for the future?
yea since they did movie stuff
so if i dont plan to change then it should be fine right?
ko would prob help with that
Ko is great
what is glocking
@lofty coyote
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8TLb9G
its it like turbo boost for ace cards
wha
R7 3700x compare to i5 10500
We're not google :P
3700x wins hands down
That's intel
@stoic island so id should run music produciton off that fine and other tasks same time
Yes
would this be a trustable psu
afaik music production don't take too many threads off your hands
intel core processors are not longer top their googd for gaming
powerspec is good iirc, it's a micro center brand
Yeah for your build it seems good
cx?
And do you mean Corsair?
no
I don’t know much about powerspec so I’d say Corsair
Corsair cx > powerspec ps-bsm
Even tho the CX is lower wattage it’s better quality
ye
cx
Not pcpp?
best buy eh
its easier to loook at there
haha
yea
it has it where i live
so i can go pick it up as well as going to MC
@stoic island cooler for cpu 🙂
fat fingers....
the stock cooler is decent but its not amazing; the listing you sent
Stock cooler is decent enough for non-overclocked chips
@misty heron you build pc before
yes
but theres also 30$ you can allocate to a cooler if you want
Gammaxx 400 is a very good cheap cooler
@stoic island this will fit?
@misty heron did someone show you how to build your pc or did you build your own
1st
Yes
uhh so my friend told me what parts to get
then me and another friend built it
can i ask why tho
omg
i still have an old windows thing on my ussb
should i reuse that for my new computer to install windows? or should i delete the usb things and reinstall?
@misty heron because i have to order these parts all seperate and build them from scratch
nver done this before
i dont know anyone close buy that knows how
what?
i mean
u can watch a utube video
thats what me and my friend did
we were in 7th grade at the time so it shouldnt be too hard
got it
wait
newegg doesnt have my psu
oh no
😦
@stoic island should i get the other psu since newegg doesnt have stock?
Its really eazy to build just watching a video
If you dony care about cable managmetn then its like 30 minutes
cx650 was in stock
is that good memory
since its pretty cheap too
or should i get the red version and save more money
Hey whats the difference between an "AMD Ryzen 5 3600" and a "AMD Ryzen 3 3300x"
Besides one has 6 cores and the other has 4
clock speeds
Main thing is that one has 6 cores and the other has 4
has anyone used the monitor Dell U2719D
my build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/y3kb9G
will switch the NVMe from to kingston A2000
its a 60hz monitor. what will you be doing with it?
im going to do some casual gaming
well, thats overpriced for what it is
ya but its IPS 1440p
there is no 144hz IPS 1440p monitor in the place where im going to buy it
i mean, this is too
curved panels are really nice
but, 1440p 144hz on a 5600xt might be a struggle for some games
so is there a specific place you are buying from?
ye its in macedonia
ahh, so what currency are you buying with
ok, is this from an online retailer, or somewhere local
local
These are expensive but the only ones in stock and i wanna get fans tomorrow
thats the website
ok, does macedonia have any online shopping places that are based locally?
oh, ok cool
thats a really good monitor, but idk how much that is
Are they to over priced shouldni try to find cheaper ones
377 euros
its not really a online shopping place
you send an email with what parts you want to buy and then you go get it
can i see the list of parts available to you?
what do you mean?
how do you know what youre able to purchase?
For corsair ll120 fans, that is a reasonable price. But Corsair RGB fans are just overpriced in general
aha you can see in the website if the item is in stock or not
so anhoch is the website/business you are ordering from
they are the people you are emailing ?
btw the total price is 1369 euro. Its a local business that has a website
ye
i talked to them and they said "send us an email with your parts and we will get them for you"
because they have mutliple shops
so they have to move them around
1.4k
and, i assume you will be gaming, mostly?
not really
casual. more about general use
maybe 3D
maybe some game development
blender gimp godot
etc
dont really know what the future will bring maybe i wont use those and just start programming
ok, i would suggest putting money more towards your cpu instead
im gonna come up with a list of parts brb
tbh i think the cpu and gpu is just fine
also, when are you planning on putting in your order
ok im gonna dm you a few links, because i cant really dump them all in chat here
Does it matter if I have 6 or 8 cores for an i7 when gaming?
can someone please let me know of a good 650w 80+ gold psu that’s actually in stock right now
is this chat live, are there people here now?
ye
dew it
should i reinstall windows?
like a fresh copy
i already have an old usb with a copy of it on it
@stoic island
fresh copy
Ryzen 5 3600
Rx 5600 xt
Gigabyte b450m DS3H
G skill aegis (2x8) 3200mhz cl16
Crucial mx500 250gb NAND SATA M. 2 ssd
Seagate barracuda 2tb hdd
Cooler master 500w 80+ gold full modular
Be quiet 500dx
Any changes I should make? 850$ budget
Oh and @stoic island should i delete everything on my current drives or just windows?
Heheh u wanna c my build?
Why not
I am reusing alot of stuff
Ignore mobo cos its gonna be a diff one where i combo it with a cpu at a mc
Muhahaha
Nice build
We have almost the same keyboard mouse and headset😂
That case is ugly in my opinion
AMD Ryzen 5 2600U
And
AMD Radeon RX 580 8gig
Is that good combo?
I'd go for a 1660S -shrug-
no need to wipe anything other than the drive you'll get windows in
Since i already bought the things online should i go to mc tmrow
And okay so im wipine both ssds cause one has windows and i want to transfer
Guys I have a really important question
Yes?
You probably bought a normal gpu, but looks like you have a low profile case
I bought a low profile one
My case is sff and my gpu is low profile
Y’all reckon I should just cut it off?
Welp, you gotta find one that is fully low profile. That i/o shield on the gpu looks full sized
You could
Hi, I want to buy a new gpu for my pc, but I'm not sure if my mobo would support it.
I have a MSI tomahawk b450 max with a 1050 ti and I want to add a RX 50 gaming.
I will use the 1050 ti with my old monitor for watching videos,
The 580 will be used for my newer monitor, and for gaming.
Would I be able to run both the cards at once?
But good luck reselling that down the line
😕
I have an ssd and it still takes like 20-30 mins to reboot
2gb ddr2 memory?
i have a question about my build
What is it
so my corsair icue case comes with a fan node
and i ordered 3 more sp120 fans that also come with a node
would i just have an extra node?
Yup
ah okay
Same thing I'm ending up with my iCue 220T
beautiful case isnt it
Bought that SP120 kit so they'd all match.
I love it. So much so that I'm cramming an EATX in it,
black or white?
White.
My whole build is based around black and white. The medical condition I deal with has the Zebra as it's mascot of sorts.
mines pink and white. im making an exception with the case because i couldnt find a case i liked that was pink
Since it's a charity build they figured they'd go B&W, and do some custom graphics.
thats awesome
Could always give it a respray
very true. is it possible to respray the fans?
@misty heron what's up?
I've been doing that for years even with black cases, because white makes rgb and the components pop more.
thinking of respraying the gpu aswell
You could respray them yeah. Just make sure you tape off the fans themselves really well.
thanks man
Be sure to take pics!
of course! first launch is going on #build-pics 😉
@prime bridge my question was should i go to mc and best buy soon since i just bought my case ram and psu at newegg#
me?
So I am looking into building a gaming computer (main games i play are ark and overwatch with getting planet zoo soon) So i was wondering what you would suggest for the parts. I have been saving for a computer so my budget will be maxed at 1500$ ( that is for everything from case to the windows program). Any help would be appreciated, first time builder plus first time making a computer just for gaming. DM would probably be best or @ me so i dont miss messages.
I need to get a new monitor but i am going to wait for a good sale and i have a good peripherals already. so not included in price 🙂
Hey fella's wondering if anybody could perhaps help me out.
Do you need wifi on your board? @dense siren
Ya, you can't post links till your level 3
I ordered the ABS Rogue H, but the back fan light does not seem to turn on. Was wondering how am I able to edit the RGB settings or enable/disable lighting?
yeah i do.
I've never had anything RGB before so this is a little new to me also.
Ok zody
Anyone know a good gpu for Rust and Modern Warfare that’ll get me 100+ FPS
Hows this look
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RnyZTC
@dense siren
Budget? @verbal forge
For just the gpu?
So 1500 for the whole pc?
Look at the list I just sent to zody
240fps easy
Just don't buy the stuff you don't need
thanks

I would need to update the bios right?
This might be a stupid question but is that processor better than an i7 coffee lake?
9700k
A 9700k will have better performance
But is considerably more expensive and the intel boards are more expensive too
Would that build be good for streaming and recording (mostly recording)
The one I sent?
Lol
You said you have a case and psu already so I would get this
Very capable streaming/recording and gaming rig
But if the psu is old, id advise getting a new one because your still under budget
The psu is a full modular gold 750w
Which specific model tho?
Do you know the model tho lol, not the brand
Tbh no I’m not home
Alright, well the list is still good. When you find the specific model ask someone here if its good and if they approve it you don't need a new one
Alright thank you man!
Np
Would 1k usd be enough to build a decent streaming/gaming pc?
For a first pc would a ryzen 9 3900x and a 2080 super be a little crazy
With a x570 motherboard
I don't see how it's crazy at all.
I mostly play rust you need at least 144+ FPS for pvp
Just because someone hasn't built before doesn't mean they can't want high end parts.
Im not going to play with max settings. I just need a lot of frames
It's not like you start someone off with a little computer like you would a little bike.
I don't have really a budget to speak of I am just saving money and working on it I started in November area to now I have around $150
Im saving up still
I just need to keep on top of parts I see and buy them on sale if they go on sale
I'm waiting until I get all of my parts to test them even though I probably would not be able to send them back because I'm not going with the warranty
Most parts have at least a 3 year warranty, so ...
Oh ok good to know I thought you only got it if you bought it separately
First time upgrading my MOBO is there anything I need to do before or after I make the switch
Make sure your windows is tied to your Microsoft account, assuming you are using windows
Thanks that's all?
Hello
@teal bison why would you link your Microsoft acc to windows it’s annoying
Because you might lose your windows license if you change your mobo
You can just re enter it if it does that
Because I assume people keep there key saved somewhere
What cheap cases which look nice, have good airflow and are ATX are there?
Up to 70$
With RGB
@fast dust
Should i go buy my parts in person rn since the parts i ordered online should be coming in 4-7 days according to newegg?
Whichever you feel more comfortable with
So if i feel comfortable with going tmrw i should go tmrw?
Anyone able to make me a budget build of 1k usd? It'll be used for streaming and gaming if that matters 🤷🏿♀️
Can I dm someone who can give me feedback on a build I’m trying to create?
Anyone think this is a good build?
@misty heron sure why not
I need 32 gb for Rust
But I’ll just upgrade it lol
@little leaf why not the intel m2
@verbal forge You don't need 32gb of ram
for rust
I play rust and I have only 16gbs
mp34 has faster reads and writes
A lot of people are saying that you’ll need more ram when rust moves to hdr
Especially for the garage collection that randomly happens when playing
Got it
@verbal forge You can get 32gbs of ram if you really want it
but you really don't need it
Alright thx 🙂
Unless you want to stream
@verbal forge if you could wait till the latter half of the year you can get next gen
I’m planning on recording and streaming
If you streaming then you could justify getting 32 gbs of ram
My group streams
I mean rust is also lowering ram usage for loading nd stuff
running a minecraft server tho
512gb or nothing
the server uses 6gb, my mc game uses 5
so thats already 11 lol
plus os, discord, and youre already caching to disk
Discord + Stream + Rust + Chrome (mostly chrome) can eat up 16gb
I have at least 40 chrome tabs open at once lol
ya, if you dont know how to close tabs when your done with them
Also anyone have tips for selling my pc?
the only tabs you need are pcpp, newegg, SSD master sheet, PSU tier list, mobo sheet, rtings, and thats about it
RGB
looks > specs
:P
@stoic island I have those open all the time but then I forget I have them open
So i just open a bunch of different tabs of the thing
Not to mention like 16 tabs of youtube
and pcpp
better be GN
@little leaf what about buildzoid
just ask here
Ah the joys of deciding to build your own custom case and now tryign to find a scrap mother board tray, IO and etc so you dont have to try to fabricate it all yourself lol
I need help with something
Hmm. Would it be incredibly stupid to go ahead and buy the 2 TB Hard Drive I plan to use as storage for my future desktop build, buy an external enclosure, and copy all the files from this laptop I want to move over? Or should I just buy another external hard drive? (I discovered my old external hard drive doesn't have enough space left to save everything off this laptop I want to move.)
why don't you just savage the drive from the laptop to use it in your pc?
Because I'd sort of like to keep the laptop functional as a backup machine?
(The boot drive in this thing is laughably tiny. Only 256 GB. The HDD is 900 something GBs, though a chunk of it's eaten by a recovery partition.)
how do i delete everything on my ssd?
@misty heron Are you looking to just clear the SSD, or permanently purge everything for all time so that it can never be read again?
uhh like
i want to use it for a new build
and i have to clear windows to reinstall it fresh
@sand falcon
Ah, then you can just reformat it
quick format?
Yeah
okay ty 😄
I’m building a pc and I’m trying to find a monitor, does anyone know of a good 144hz monitor that’s no more than 200$?
Just tag me or dm me
Building a pc and my ram rgb wont light up
It wont boot either
The mobo lights up and so does the gpu but case fans, cpu fan and ram aren’t turning on
Ensure good RAM seating. Try one stick at a time.
@stoic island which mobo did u recommend i get??
when
Yesterday i think
b450 or
It was 2 b450s i think
Gaming plus and something else
Wasnt it from amd
Welp ig ill just get doff
@terse idol ive checked ram seating multiple times and they’re in but wont light up
Not really sure then. Many variables.
static electric shock to motherboard mayn=be you need to flash it\
I remember when I used zipties instead of mobo stands off to put it in a pc once
so it posted and i moved my power supply and reconnected everything, my rgb on my masterliquid 240L stopped working tho any ideas?
I was wondering if yall could help im in the middle of my build
Asus Tuf Gaming x570 Wifi Mobo
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU
XFX Radeon Rx580 gpu
Corsair 850 80+ gold psu
Gskill Aegis 8gb x 4
ok it was working earlier thats why i got confused
lmao should i be worried or should it be an easy fix later
nvm i fixed it
i rewired the whole cooling and fixed it lol
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KRdWq3
What cases could I use?
Good looking, good airflow, fans included, side panel, ATX, up to 70$, can buy additional fans
I need help i wanna get extra ram for my acer nitro 5 laptop but i dont know what to get
Hi all. I want to expand the memory on my ASUS ROG Strix GL10DH with Ryzen 5, B450 Chipset 2666MHZ to 32G. I was looking at CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 32GB CMK32GX4M2A2666C16R. Corsair website says Ryzen 1 is compatible, but not AMD optimized. Can anyone give me a hand with this one?
"AMD optimized" is just marketing
so im tryna install windows in my new build but its not finding any boot devices and my ssd is the only thing popping up on my storage information in BIOS any help is appreciated
I have an NZXT phantom
Why not going for a b550 or 570?
theyre pricey and not neccesary for most people
how does this chat work? I'm a PC fan, but i usually do Mid tower cases, but Im a truck driver now driving over the road. i have a power inverter that can handle up to 1500 wat (this has to run all plugged in stuff) so what would be a good system for a smaller system that i can easily transport?
did i get blocked? o.o
@bleak oxide by whom?
You can tell if someone has blocked you if your reactions to their messages are automatically removed
Otherwise, there's no such thing as a universal blocking of someone or shadowbanning, etc.
okay, just making sure. i would see messages pop up for a split second and then disappear
Either your connection is spotty or somebody is screwing with you by deleting their messages.
might be connection, i am at a truck stop where i can get up to 1mb/s or 10kb/s lol
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZM9bZf parts list for a friend, good idea or no?
Looks pretty solid but I’d say go for a WD SN750 or Team MP34 for SSD instead
Good stuff my man

Can anyone make me a 800 build ?
Yeah but you’re paying for it 😆
That was a joke
A joke about how you worded your sentence
Laugh
Lmao
How much storage do you need?
Up to you see how much y put can fit
Alright and is this budget supposed to include a monitor/keyboard/mouse?
no i have the monitor and keyboard and mouse
Its just that my pre built is getting old and i want to build my own pc
Alrighty do you need WiFi or are you gonna use Ethernet?
I dont have a Ethernet cable but i could get one
What ever you think would work best
Ok il do ethernet
Do you want WiFi for convenience or Ethernet for performance?
Oh okay cool
Do you want me to add an Ethernet cable to the budget
Sure
You can usually find ethernaet cables pretty easy
Damm
you wanna go with an ugly ketchup and mustard cable power supply, or spend more and get something higher quality?
Or wait there's the EVGA BR
Hold up
That's as good as the CV650 with black cables
Ok sounds Good
Cheapest model of the BR is the 700w... It's non mudular so you're gonna have a lot of unused cables... is that okay?
Yeah
aaAAAAAAAAAAA
WHAT DO I DO NOW
Im stuck with tier C power supplies other than the CV650
@cursive wharf please help me
@near garden Im going to give you a front fan. Do you want it to be LED? If so, what color. It can be RGB too
what is the PSU budget?
Rgb please
the PSU budget is under $80
welp. Basically either pay $70 for CV650 or $90 for CX.

or wait for more stock
@near garden Eh quality for cheaper or good quality for $20 more?
Good quality
alright that's gonna probably push the total over $800 tho
Oh how much?
just a little
$20-30 maybe
you could get a cheaper GPU or CPU if you wan
t
@near garden
Ok il go with the higher quality one
I mean yeah I went with he higher quality one, but now you're going over budget about $30, so do you want me to get a cheaper CPU to make your build cheaper? @near garden
What cpu is on there rn ?
Is it good ?
It would be a downgrade but it's still a solid chip
I actually own a 1600 af and I love it
Ok the 1600 is good
alright
Whats a good monitor for $140-$230? I want it to be 144hz
Ive heard good things about this monitor
LG 24GL65B-B 24" Full HD 1920 x 1080 144Hz 1ms 2 x HDMI, DisplayPort Radeon FreeSync Technology Flicker Safe Anti-Glare Widescreen LED Backlit Gaming Monitor
actually i stumbled across this monitor on sale VIOTEK GNV22CB Ultra-Compact 22-Inch 144Hz Gaming Monitor | 1080P Full-HD 5ms | G-Sync-Compatible FreeSync FPS/RTS | 2x HDMI 3.5mm DP | Zero-Tolerance Dead Pixel Policy (VESA)
Newegg priced at $139.99 so I'm ploting to buy x4 for the kids Intel i5 builds
I've seen those
They're real bottom of the barrel
Bad Bad response times and ghosting
So are the kids, they are only playing PSO2 at best and Roblox at worst
most mmo's and rpgs dont require a high end monitor
I say that from my current build, even if i upgrade to a Ryzen 3800xt on a B550 or x570 my games will never demand much from the Acer I am using.
Rts and Mmo dont require a 1/2ms response time
If you’ve seen my pc it sucks it has to run ark at the lowest settings or theres lagg all over
Guess what processor i have its real old
lets see, all the pc in the house run Fps like Fortnite, ACM
Cpu/Gpu/Ddr are the magic formula for that
On my current build i have a AMD FX(tm) 6300six core processor
well, i have 4 Amd Fx-8350 and one Ryzen 1500x all running GTX 1060 vid cards
@near garden
I haven't made a list in a while and it's really hard to build rn because of the virus and everything but here you go: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QkXtf9
Thanks @fast dust
thats neweggs new deal
yep no problem my man @near garden
Take care (:
i found a flaw in system builder however
You too
Hi i just build my 1st gaming pc and my motherboard (b550 rog -e) has a 8+4 pin but my power supply (EVGA 600 GD, 80+ GOLD 600W 100-GD-0600-V1) ?
What CPU do you have
amd 3700x
cool
What GPU do you have? Out of curiosity @meager sky
msi 2070 s
600 GD seems like a little lower-quality PSU for that build but it's whatever now. Not necessarily a bad PSU
I have a 600 GD and I like it
it was the only one that i could find lol
i'm just curious why you didn't go for a modular psu?
Modular = extra $$
true, i'm dumping x4 APEXGAMING AG Series Gaming Power Supply (AG-750M), 750W 80 Plus Gold Certified, Fully Modular, Active PFC, Continuous Power 750W, Peak Power 950W
good job dumping that
it's priced at 99.99 right now
i actually have the 850 watt version i intend to recycle into my ryzen build
yo can anybody help me real quick
That nice I will be buy a new one down the line
I took out my cases fan bracket to screw the fans in and now I can’t put it back on
I can’t figure out a way to put it back in its place so o could screw the bracket back in
I’ve been stuck on this for days
my order history includes the TOPOWER Nano Series TOP-800WB 800W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply
which happens to be on sale for 84.99
post the make and model of the case and we can pull up the owners manual
hi guys i just started looking into the custom pc building feature because im interested in building my first gaming pc
do any of you guys know if this is good
first time building a pc
ooof i can't share my link
What the heck are your power supplies lmao @winter marsh
Never heard of either of those power supplies or brands
Both purchased from Newegg 2017-2019 to replace defective Corsair modular psu's
Let's see the review for the ag
Tier list only includes defective products, oh I do have a EGVA 850 GQ that didn't belly up yet.
"The major problem in this unit is the fan profile, which makes the fan spin at very high speeds from almost zero load. The second problem are the low quality electrolytic caps on the secondary side, which along with the sleeve bearing fan have no place in a PSU that costs 110 bucks. On the other side the AG-850M is supported by a ten-year warranty, which shows Apexgaming's confidence on this platform, the soldering quality is good and has low EMI emissions. We are troubled though about the 10-year warranty which looks highly optimistic given the Chinese electrolytic caps and the sleeve bearing fan with the aggressive speed profile."
Tier list only includes defective products..? Lmao
If it only includes defective products why is the apexgaming one on there?
Why hasn't all of our PCs blown up yet?
:p
Fine and dandy for marketing purposes, I buy PC hardware based on my actual experience with the hardware.
Alright then
Simple, they aren't overclocked, the cases aren't RGB glass enclosures, and I've more than a decade in experience building them.
What does rgb have anything to do with the power supply?
I find RGB case fans annoying at this point anyway, the controllers, software, and etc are a drain on the system
... your opinion to have
same is true of RGB keyboards and mice, running multiple softwares to control lighting effects
Not all of them are controlled with software
Corsair however is the only exception as their device drivers are unified
For example the TD500 mesh has a physical controller for the rgb
... Corsair is the one with the most drain I've seen
No need for software anyways, just let the rgb run default
Lets see, my keyboard/mouse are Logitech, lighting is Asus for the cpu cooler and vga, but my case fans are run by a Thermatake controller and software
Logitech doesn't have a default and the asus mobo doesnt support rgb fans
Wdym logit doesn't have a default
And wdym Asus Mobo doesn't support rgb fans lol
Default as in no software control
so yeah Logitech required the Audio Digitizer software, and the Asus 970 Gaming Aura doesn't have Rgb fan controllers
Ah yes keyboard and mouse needs audio software
Why do you need rgb fan controllers?
now the ryzen 1500x/asus b350 has rgb on IAI,has said connectors and Consair kb, mouse, and headset one one software
@stoic island the Rgb fans are from Coolermaster or Thermatake so are run on their magnetic box controller
I'm disposing of them in my next build, my upgrade means I pass on most of my hardware
@shut estuary whats wrong?
anyone know if running a dual xeon setup would help gamin performance?
Hey is the 2070s worth the extra 50 over a reg 2070
@winter marsh I'd clean it up and put it in #build-pics. that could look nice
@mortal rampart dual CPUs aren’t very good/optimized for gaming iirc.
They aren't. there's a whole bunch of latency
Okay thx
Hey guys could someone make me a parts list under $650. Gaming would not really be a focus. It would be more so everyday use and maybe a touch of photoshop every now and then. Thank you to anyone that can make me a list
Can anyone direct me to a good case? Should i go full tower for more room and space or a mid tower?
nzxt and phanteks cases should work well
just depends on what you are looking for
or what is most appealing
@ripe wind
If you care about aesthetics, you gotta pick one you like...
For functionality (airflow, thermals, etc), go lookup the case you want to buy and see if GamersNexus has reviewed it
I personally have not liked any NZXT cases I have seen, but whatevs
@serene obsidian
you could swap out that gpu for a used rx 580 for $120 and buy yourself a more storage
i also a couple of cases in mind with fans that are pretty cheap
Um... TT smart is not a good choice
Like it's a D-Tier PSU
Also, if he/she has another $20, the mp34 would be a better drive
I'd also get an 1600AF to save $40: https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/AMD-Ryzen-5-2600-vs-AMD-Ryzen-5-1600AF/3955vsm563877
As the 1600AF is a 2600 in all but name
NVM about the cpu actually... looks like it's the same price rn
I have the 1600af
Anyone know of a decent cheap 2tb hdd that has 7200 rpms
@potent prairie the price isnt 105 anymore
at least not the price listed on pc part pickers
I saw that, yh.
Be guided by the pins 🙂
I don’t really care bout lights or anything, maybe my next build I’ll look into more of that.. Just tryna decide rather mid tower or full tower
If this isn't too much more expensive, I'd recommend this: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/grd73t
@serene obsidian @mortal rampart
The CV650w B-tier psu vs TT smart d-tier (overkill wattage, but you could go w/ the CV450w c-tier 450w version if you like) and much better drive
@ripe wind Really your choice. Just look at the thermals and reviews of the case you plan on getting. I personally think that mid ATX are plenty big, but it really up to you.
Fair enough... And the WD blue is still good if you don't have the budget for an nvme. But tt smart is a bad PSU :)
@silk estuary Seagate Barracuda Compute 2tb.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bs6fzN could someone see if i should do anything to improve this build? the budget is sticking closely to 1800 usd
he is not interested in overclocking by the way
I take it he is set on intel?
yes
