#building-and-recc-chat
1 messages ยท Page 451 of 1
i have purchased my build, or the parts i need right now anyway
im using 1x8 but i plan on buying another stick in a couple months to offset that. it will run fine with one but i guess its better to do 2
Do you know why 2 is better?
i wish there was more full atx cases
And all I need is 8gb
What does CAS Latency mean?
less latency is better
Ok
cl16 should be good enough for most
Which speed is best?
3200mhz is good
well he's not trying to spend a lot
define a lot
The speed isn't in MHz :/
his budget is like 300
Maybe
300 for a upgrade or new pc
Rate this build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VFq4gJ
@muted patio
I'm looking at this cpu AMD Athlon X4 950 3.5 GHz Quad-Core Processor
Really?
Yea
its not but oh well
Everybody s##ts on intel but I like their chips
right now amd is beating out intel in most regaurds i believe
i mean i can't talk about pcs cost
the ventus cards from msi
when you can build a few off mine cost
aren't very good
xD
What do you think of this processor? AMD Athlon X4 950 3.5 GHz Quad-Core Processor
It's $65
It has integrated graphics
christine is that a dream build or something you actually have or are actually building
no such thing
can the mobo even take all of those lol
sounds like a pain to set up tho
nah
i have 4 in my pc and it was 5 but one was for a cd drive which i cant use on my new case ๐ข
its something i am actully going to have
and i need my 30tb of storage
๐ฎ
the hdds for for video storage
Form my channel
Yt channel?
yes
What's it called
i have not unloaded in a year .....
Oh
i need a new pc
im jelly
of what?
the pc but mostly the amount of storage lol
my desktop has 4.5 tb and i thought id never fill it but boy was i wrong.
Do you think just putting an AMD Athlon X4 950 3.5 GHz Quad-Core Processor in my h420 would help it?
i wanna buy more space but i cant afford it atm lol
what is the h420
50 dollars for a 2tb hdd is more than i have in my bank right now
A 2011 Lenovo computer with 6gigs of ram 1tb of storage and an Intel Pentium 2.6ghz
i need another storage thing
Get this one Hitachi Ultrastar 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Hmm
Do you reccomend a mid tower?
yeah
define cheap
Sub $40
not easy to fine one
Ok
Excellent
Deepcool Matrexx 30
RIOTORI CR488
DIYPC F2
Cooler Master Q300L
Cougar MX330
@formal plover
Id go with the Q300L
Not a fan of Deepcool cases
just because the front ports are usually on the front panel
Had the 55 before was a pain to clean the front panel without disconnecting the front port wires
Also a bigger pain to remove the front panel
An Intel stock cooler... With a glowing fan... Looks like a ricer XD
Is it worth paying 44 dollars for a warranty on a mobo?
They come with a warranty
wait what
Unless you are buying used
New from amazon?
Yes, that is just buying extra warranty
You contact MSI and RMA it
RMA?
I got my monitor off Amazon, but when the backlight failed I contacted Sceptre to RMA it
RMA is for sending a defective product to the manufacturer and getting a replacement under warranty
oh snap
Where can i check the seller warranty
Like the product itself didnt list a specofic time period
What will pcie 4 be able to do?
The only time you return it to the seller is if it arrives defective
Or you have an extended warranty
You would have to pay the seller of course for the extended warranty
Well paying the extra money could also make sure you get things sent back a lot quicker
and most likely they would just a new one instead of trying to repair it
I pay for the 1 year warranty from Newegg so
cause to me if something doesn't happen after a year then i would be good
besides that i am going to be replacing my motherboard soon so um ya
Whats wrong eith this
There always is something so please tell me
I know i wont have PCiE 4 but i dont care
If you like RGB how come you don't have RGB memory ๐ค
This is a lot more and the timings are better https://pcpartpicker.com/product/VG97YJ/corsair-vengeance-rgb-pro-16-gb-2-x-8-gb-ddr4-3600-memory-cmw16gx4m2k3600c16
Well it is RGB and has better timings from what i can see
@eager chasm wanna confirm if the timings are better
It's slightly better timings
Oh ha
Won't make much of a difference
@upper condor i got something for you then
5$ less and the timings are a little better ๐
Do you mean the speed?
i mean the timing cause the speeds are both the same being at 3600MHz
So what does the timing mean
meaning the one's you picked is 18-22-22-42 and the ones i am showing is 18-20-20-44
just with the name
Well saving a little money here and there can be a bit better to be honest
No they usually would try to sell knock off stuff from China lol
I tried to help Zack for his friends PC but he doesn't want to buy a Ryzen 5 1400 for 50$ would rather get a 2200G for like 80$ for his friend
OoF
Yeah
Im just worried the 3000 series is gonna come out
And be the same price or lower than the 2000s, and be a lot better
The 3000's are out tho
Oh I c
Yh
The 3000 series might not be for a while ๐ค
Shh don't ruin his dreams
Bro they said it would be out mid 2020 probably
no, they didnt.
rumours claimed XYZ
if you want to base your happiness on rumours, by all means, go ahead. :)
and the difference between them and a broken clock is what exactly?
yes
you got it in one
now please remember that :)
there is no need to listen to hype.
there is no need to listen to wishful rumours that are pulled from fever dreams
we are in "silly season" territory right now
because CES is close
time will tell
iirc, AMD has their press conference monday (6th)
i cant remember when/if Nvidia is planned to speak there
@sand sail nice cable magament
so i am wondering if i should change to 10 TB harddrives to sava a sata port
@sour temple you still have money to eat tho right?
But when you do buy youll be able to get food right?
yes
Good
Rip
3 hdds and 3 sdds
I've got a 10TB and I still have 6TB left o.o
i wonder if i should just get another 500 gb nvme drive for a scratch disk
video cold storage
Think I'm going to swap my SSD for an NVME, though
my ram keeps getting out of stock thou
T-T
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GnJJwh i think this is going to be my final list
Uh
out of every storage slot in the mobo xD
Might wanna check the storage scenario
Most motherboards, the 2ND NVME takes up SATA ports
yep.
does not pull up a issue on the list
will take at least 2 satas.
It won't
well pcpartpicker isn't 100% accurate
Gotta check that manually
where do i check that
I'm checking now ๐
Anyone have any experience with the arctic accelero aftermarket coolers? Iโm thinking of sticking one on the stock blower 2080 I got in my HP Omen Obelisk but donโt know if thereโs quite enough clearance.
Interestingly enough, the manual doesn't mention the second M.2 using SATA ports
This one may not
Or if anyone else has alternative cooling solutions. For that card/case
No port sharing on it confirmed
not really want to spend 500+ for a mobo
good to go
there is no such comany as aorus
@little osprey the memory in his photo looks to be from Team Group
its a gigbite board
It's confirmed by many reviewers that they don't share lanes
It does, however, share bandwidth on the PCI-E 4.0 bus
so they may not go full speed with two installed
meh
@latent bronze ok, do we're know if NE has our?
can be worse
Stupid autocorrect
i mean its just boot drives and scratch disk
Huh
looks lilke my TUF Gaming WiFi doesn't disable sata ports either with NVME drives
tuf does not mean its bad
what @little osprey
Oh no, it's a good board
there are a lot of stuff asus does at the low end and not the high end
Indeed
New build with Gigabyte Z390M Gaming mobo, Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro RAM. I just installed iCUE software. iCUE is recognizing the RAM, pulls in all spec, temp, etc info, but RAM not responding to any lighting control.
Uninstalled Gigabyte Ambient LED software. No dice ๐ฆ Any ideas?
@latent bronze the ram, do we know if newegg has them?
they do
Ok I will look
@loud prism did you reboot
I did
when you try to give it a color, how are you trying?
Lighting Effects tab. Select a DIMM... static color.
The only thing i dislike
about the aorus board
is the back lit ram slots
just WHYYY
can always disabled mobo lights
because why not.
heat
doubt.
it will make that area hotter
what
put your finger over any led, it's not hot.
there is a dead ssd because rbg
There was an issue with RGB SSD's that caused excessive heat but it's not an issue on the motherboard. The Ground plane heat dissipation will do its job
the hyperx ssd?
The SSD thing was a unique case
y think?

cause people like it, people use it.
sometimes you wanna flex

ingore the 64gb of ram in my build
@latent bronze thanks
@imabox no response in color from RAM. No light at all.
@sour temple 6 drives fit in a lot of itx and m-atx cases. no need to go atx case for that small amount of drives
read again please :)
the 719
yes you don't
a normal person does not need a 719
most people don't need a dual mobo case
then again people people don't need 6TB of sdds
put everything i use will be on the sdds
xD
@foggy hazel then again no one who needs my build unless you make money off it
Oh lame. Would be cool to put 2 pcs in the same case tho lol
they are "in" the same case.
Yeah but I donโt have an itx board but I got 2 spare m-atx lol
TT core v21 x2
they bolt together
your not really going to find a case for dual atx mobos
then boom, double pc build
Just have 2 psus
Double everything but it one case thatโs bigger than 2 cases cause you can lol
unless you want to spend 1000+ on a case
How bout 20$ worth of wood and screws and I make one
Iโm not gunna do that tho lol
I couldnโt make anything as pretty as my case
omg that discord is dumb
Why
@loud prism ensure that rgb fusion is uninstalled as well. Fusion will interfere with ambient led and your board is not supported by fusion.
sorry it took so long for me to respond to the ping, I was working on staining some wood for a desk I am building
Also if fusion is installed still it will interfere with icue. after everything is uninstalled you have to restart the computer after uninstalling.
As for icue, check to make sure you have the most recent version of icue downloaded. currently its 3.23.66 then once in icue click on settings as the top and select the ram. Also on the settings page you will see a button in the box at the top where it says device settings for the firmware update. Click on the update button and it will check the version of your firmware on your ram and update if it needs to. if it say you have a current version you can force the update and see if that fixes the problem. Recent versions of icue have had some issues with no letting people change the colors of the ram, but for some reason forcing the firmware update fixes it sometimes. But before messing with icue make sure fusion is uninstalled and that you have restarted your computer to rule that out as the cause.
what no not that convo
lol
I got the icue thing worked out, I pinged you about the aorus board using every sata and nvme port.
@sudden turret they said teh FTW3 was worse then a strix 2080ti
ok, I see the question from christine about the sata ports and m.2
on the aorus elite none of the ports get disabled
oh nice.
whats your question then?
the chipset has enough lanes to do everything
@muted patio write that down for future Reference ๐
what are you talking about Christine? lolol.
it only becomes an issue on x570 boards when you have more than 2 m.2 slots
so using both m.2 and sata ports nothing gets disabled?
intender
yup
you had the question
I dont know about that asus board, but its in a whole different class of board than the aorus elite
No, box has pinged me earlier today about your question about the aorus elite wifi
I scrolled through real quick on my phone but my hands were covered in stain from building a desk so I got confused about which question he pinged me on
but the elite only has the 2 m.2 slots one is through the cpu, other through the chipset, 2 x16 slots both of which are through the cpu (either x16x0 or x8x8) and the 2 x1 slots which are through the chipset. the chipset has plenty of lanes for all that.
so you dont lose any slots or sata ports if everything is occupied
@warm nova https://images.anandtech.com/doci/14588/David_McAfee-Next_Horizon_Gaming-3rd_Gen_Ryzen_06092019-page-030 - Copy.jpg <- practical for explaining it for people.
thats the x570 diagram
(in the "understandable for consumers" variant)
and one note on the aorus monitors. They are amazing, and I wish I could afford one. but you will not be able to run it at 144hz with hdr and 10bit at the same time. It went into production before dp 1.4 was really on the market and display port 1.2 cant handle that much bandwidth. you can do 8bit hdr at 144hz. 10bit sdr at 144hz, or I think 10bit hdr at 120hz. Not 100% sure on that last one. The new revision of that monitor the FI27Q-P is updated to display port 1.4 and cand do all of those in addition to being 165hz.
@sour temple
which quadro were they reccomending
6000 or 7000 i think
and is this a full work no play or do you want to game also
yeah this is going to be my workstation / gaming rig
do not go to kristofer yee discord for adsive they just meme
Then go with the 2080ti it will be strong enough for both uses. if it werent to be gaming yes a quadro would be slightly better
not worth the cost for a small content creator
i mean i want a 2080 ti because its good ๐ฎ
It mainly just depends on use the quadro will outperform a 2080ti in professional workloads
and a 2080ti is a more rounded card for gaming and creation
yes but i am not going to be doing 8k video
more like 1440 and 60 fps
2k is pushing it since most people don't have monitors that can support it
then you will be fine with that card. you can also look into a titan rtx if you can find one. in my job we edit and shoot in 8k for ease of dedit and more work
i mean i would be happy with the 2080 ti not really need a titan rtx
i mean i will not be another ltt
So I have a Samsung 970 EVO M.2, a Samsung 870 SSD, and an Intel 660 M.2. All of them are 500gb. My motherboard only has 1 m.2 slot but I have a laptop that has an m.2 slot. Should I return the SSD and keep both m.2 or should I return one of the m.2s and use both storage devices on my desktop
i do content on modded minecraft for now and any games i want to play and want to record
there is something funny thou
people think you have to have a meshy c
@polar holly
if your gaming content than yeah the 2080ti
and i want to stream
i want to do a vlog of my progess of being trans but i feel like it would be had idea
@next merlin check that your laptop has a m.2 2280 slot and not a different type
I'll just return the one of the m.2s and replace the hdd on my laptop with the ssd
make certain that your laptop can actually fit the SSD you have (thickness of drive matters for this)
yes i am trans... ๐
mtf
i wish i could work ๐ฆ
to bad no one wants to work with someone with a lot of mental issues
walmart hires anyone
Did you work for them
yes
Whyd you stop
someone on there 1st day claimed racism against me while i was training
before this gets to deep. this is #building-and-recc-chat
just wondering what fps would i get at 1440p with a ryzen 5 2600 and gtx1660 super?
Lemme chexk
What quality settinfs?
At ultra quality 50-70 fps
Cant guarantee that
WHAT GAME
Rainbow will be 60-70 generally
hmm ok
@sudden turret im not a genius lol i just watched DIY stuff n custom pc builds on YT for about 2 years. my 1st pc build looked so plain. wanted to make my next pc or upgrade really different lol ๐
looks killer to me.
Thx!
Why aren't there any mobos compatible with the ryzen 3???
huh?
U need a bios updaye for b450 chips
X570 chips can use ryzen 3rd gen
@formal plover
@mossy citrus the 3200G chip is a ryzen 2 chip.
well, technically it is a zen+ (which is the second generation of ryzen cpu core)
yes, the model names dont make much sense.
o
@formal plover most 4xx series chipset mainboards support it
and all 5xx series mainboards support it
the later one would be a massive overkill for it thou, but it supports it
@sudden turret I did indeed confirm the lanes weren't used. ๐ Scroll up.
BekoraToday at 10:32 AM
No port sharing on it confirmed
Just got some of my parts ๐
dont forget to drop some parts to be famous like linus

rip linus

Help im doing a 200 dollar build and it is used should i go used and ill ahow you what i have in used if thats fine
wait, $200 total?
@tall isle Go used and upgrade.
I built a PC with an i5, 240 SSD, 8GB RAM, Windows 10 Pro, and 1050 Ti for only $280 total doing that
1050 Ti is actually surprisingly bad value compared to rx470s, but @tall isle you might want to check out some optiplex prebuilts, grab a 1050 and call it a day
generally a core i5 4th gen CPU/board/8GB ram, and then a older mid tier GPU, like a GTX 770, GTX 960, R9 280x, R9 380 etc etc can be had for $200~ @tall isle
i still need to buy a power supply for this
but, i should be able to get it under $200
nehalem xeons + rx470s wiil also be under $200
you CAN go xeon or OEM systems, but they can be a bit more finicky with setup
OEMs come with win 10 ๐
windows 10 is free ๐คท
that's also true
older xeons (pre skylake) are typically just the same exact CPU as their core i counterparts, but with lower boost clocks and ECC mem enabled
most use the same socket, same chipset, same everything, and even work with nonecc RAM
well, for under $200, I would just get a milk crate and some duct tape
no case fans needed
?
Not exactly a build yet, but when I get done i am moving a pc in for the family to use. Built the desk today, but it didn't take the stain as dark as i hoped so i have to redo that and seal the top
ah cool
This one will go in there
Aorus x470 gaming 7, r5 2600 @ 4ghz, 16gb of aorus 3200 ram, Red devil rx480, Fractal Define C case.
Also an aorus mousepad, aorus keyboard, aorus mouse, and some gigabyte headphones
?
Is cougar psu any good?
Anybody know a good touchscreen display thatll hook up via usb/hdmi to my pc
Need it for photoshop and video editing
Preferably one that can lay flat or on a slight angle
So... With the awesomeness of NewEgg, I have finally completed all the parts lists for the new computer that I am building. So excited that it is finally completed! All for around $1100.
For those that are wondering what I am putting together -
- MSI MSG Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon Motherboard
- i7-8700K Intel Processor (3.7G - up to 4.5G OC)
- Ballistix Sport LT Red 32GB Kit (4 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 UDIMM
- Samsung 860 QVO 1T SSD
- Zotec GTX 1660Ti
- Thermaltake Toughpower Grand 750W ATX 12V V2.3 & EPS 12V 80 PLUS GOLD Full Modular
- ARCTIC Freezer Xtreme Rev. 2 CPU Cooler - Twin-Tower Heatsink, 120mm PWM Fan
This should run me for the next 5-10 years (hopefully), as I was still using the one that I built from the early 2010/11s.
dont think anyone was wondering
๐
Did not know that. Thanks, @lyric thistle.
Yw :))
While I would have liked something along the lines of a 1070/1080 or 2070/2080, I had limited resources/cash to spend.
I'm saying too much of the budget went into other parts
But that's just my opinion

Just upgrade the GPU in a couple years
Probably Could have by getting less ram and maybe an amd equivalent or just below but let em build what they wanna build
1660S is plenty capable at 1080p
How can do i know if if the cpu . Gpu and ram will work on a motherboard
Ok thnx
Anyone know the best parts for a $700 build? Thanks
r5 3600, 5700 could probably fit into that budget
Right thanks
I don't think for 700 no
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DtKyFG I can't think of how to go cheaper without sacrificing performance
2600X is on sale for 110$ ๐
where
Sorry the non X version
Still just the plain 2600 for 110$ is very good
pair it up with a Nvidia card and you have a great gaming/streaming PC
do you guys know any good speakers that I can buy?
@round flare I wouldnt go CXM due to fan/coil whine. Also EX900 is pretty meh, not that great of an NVMe. Just get a 480GB SATA
and case has bad airflow
Hey everyone! Happy New Year! Going to be getting myself something nice as well as a birthday gift. What feedback do you have. Also what are some recommendations for a good sized gaming monitor.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Bsqck6
@latent talon storage is overpriced, same with fans, and headset isn't that great
You also have x570 but no Gen4 usage?
@cursive wharf thank you. Any recommendations on a better headset.
I'd avoid gaming headsets and 7.1 channel headsets as well. Sennheiser is usually quite good, rarely a bad headset from them. Audio Technica is pretty good as well
@cursive wharf what about the gen4 usage explain. Pretty much use Linus as a guide and some other vids
This is my first build btw
I'd also probably get a better PSU. The one you have it good, but kinda meh quality given the price of the entire PC. As for Gen4 usage, I mean PCIe gen4. That's the only reason to go x570. Otherwise it's a waste of money
Actually, you should be able to get a 2080Ti given the budget
I'll probably make a list in a fair few hours
So get the Asus PSU you think? And also do you mean like the Asus 360 mobo
Asus doesn't make any high end PSU as far as I know. I'm not talking about wattage or ratings btw, there is voltage regulation/ripple, protections, noise, multi rails, etc
I'm tracking
What do y'all think of this? Though some reason when i look on the site it shows 16gb not 32. And they only offer rgb for 16gb. So if i got it id order with 8 and put in my own ram.
And what do you mean by Asus 360 mobo? Do you mean the CPU cooler or the mobo? Asus x570 mobo or Asus 360 CPU cooler
Cause id get 32gb of ram
@cursive wharf yes I got them mixed up.
I'll look into it later in a few hours. Probably optimise it a bit. You just gaming? Need any monitors?
For me?
I do need a monitor/monitors my friend recommended https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcsales/comments/ehpgxq/monitor_acer_predator_x34_34_ips_curved_3440x1440/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
Roger that
what would yโall say is the best budget processor? trying to think of stuff for a future desktop
ryzen.
3400g is 150 bucks, with vega 11 graphics.
AMD Athlon 3000G if you really want a budget
comes with vega 3 graphics, and is 60bucks
should i get a 24' monitor or a 27'? I heard a few places that 27 is too large for 1080p
eh I have both and looks fine to me
should I get a 700W gigabyte GP-700H 80+ bronze or a 750W gigabyte G750H 80+ gold for an i9-9900k and 2080 super?
about 65 bucks for the 700W one and 85 for the 750 watt one
I would recommend something from this list in the A or A+ section
PSU Tier List 4.0 rev. 6.7 welcome to the brand new PSU Tier List! Created and maintained by @Princess Luna, @DatTestBench, @Stefan Payne, @GreatMasterAden, @PSUGuru, @Ave with a model o and @LukeSavenije Last Update: 01-01-2020 Tiering of various units is opinion based off r...
I dont' see either of those PSU's there
Oh, is that the one you have?
Then yeah, it's OK
zAh, didn't realize they put the wattage between the g and h
oof the BH is in C thats a nono
Had a budget build I just ordered
Just now found out that a bit of insurance money popped up out of nowhere and I'm wondering how to split some of that between a different CPU and a dedicated graphics card
Get a 2200g, better SSD, and a better PSU. Cut back on the overpriced Corsair keyboard as well
Dont want your whole PC dying cuz of that PSU now do you?
PSU was picked off NewEgg's wattage calculator though I've been told to take that with a grain of salt
Unfortunately couldn't fit more than 300W with the initial budget. I will definitely revisit that
Bigger PSU?
Only if you get a graphics card
Just get a Corsair CX450
What's the reason for cutting back to 2200G?
save money on a pointless upgrade
2200g is Zen and 3200g is Zen+
very, very little perf difference
3600 is Zen2
Zen2 was the major upgrade
Alright, so grab that if I want a real upgrade?
3600 is a good upgrade yes. But for PSU, dont go any lower than Corsair CX450
Else your PC may get damaged
Okay
Something to take note for the future, if you need to cheap out on a build, never do so on the PSU and mobo. Those two components can kill most or all components very easily. Tho, that mobo you have is good
Luckily most mobos arent dangerous, even on the low end. But it is something you have to consider
Moboโs are on average a lot better then 15ish yrs ago at least, my personal rule of thumb with them has always been look for a model with good high end (usually solid is far better) capacitors
Infact I havent heard of a legit bad modern mobo that could do real bad stuff. Were some modern mobos that had issues with themselves and may end up bricking themselves or something of sorts. But their issues were kept to the mobo
Speaking of psuโs my mom use to have a cheap one causing daily reboots for years, Iโm fairly sure the main problem with it though was it had something like a 86F max operating temperature and room temperature was well over 100 for half the year so it was probably damaged early on if it ever worked lol...
86F max? Temps for components are usually in celcius
Also most people just look at the wattage not realizing that itโs based off the AC draw not the DC output so a high efficiency model ratted at half the watts can end up put out the same amount of power...
@muted patio I mean PSUs operating temps are usually 30c on the low end, 40c on mid end, and probably 50c - 60c on high end (maybe, never looked actually for high end)
@little osprey it can. But it depends on how much efficiency difference there is. Efficiency scales about on load. 5% load gets terrible efficiency, 45% load gets best, and 100% load gets slightly worse than best
So 1000w PSU with 80% vs 500w with 85%. With a 500w load they can be about the same efficiency
Operating temps, not max temps. MOst are rated for a max temp of 85C or higher. OPerating temp varies
But that can effect voltage regulation/ripple and other things quite easily
Not unless the caps are garbage
Caps are used for filtering and to control ripple. Provided the MOSFETS don't get super hot, it won't change much
Just got the ryzen 7 2700x in the mail today๐
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813144264?Item=N82E16813144264 what liquid cooling will work with this motherboard
i plan on building a $1500 pc
i already have a power supply

@little osprey make a pcpp list, it helps

What was your budget? 1500?
You should definetly get a 5700 XT then, unless this is including peripherals
What Monitor?
I gave him a build with a 2070 super in it but it was ignored
Hm
He stream or no
So is it with peripherals?
no streaming
So yeah, 5700XT but they aren't taking advice. Only asking questions and that's about it
Hmmmmm strange
Ah
Without this discord i would have total poop for parts
Hey, they do their thing, I do mine lol
Very true
Yea
Due to the LTT discord I was able to gain my meh knowledge on PSUs
Nice
theres a ltt discord?
I dont understand the need for over 1100 psus, barely any parts use that much
I guess servers
Bruh
etc
10 gazillion watt PSU
Ok shsuh
with RGB
Did you know NASA has fast internet
Eh, if you want to be rich boi enthusiast there is the dual 2080Ti/Titans
two 2080Tis is 750w alone
What if you use your psu only for rgb lighting your entire house
RB lighting itself is very low current
For your whole house we are talking maybe 12 volts, 10 amps max?
talking 150-250 ma per strinf
Whats the best panel type for monitors?
Depend on your use
Gaming
TN for high refresh rates and low responcr times
But does tn look good?
IPS for good colors, though IPS is catching up in terms of responce and stuff
For gaming it doesn't really matter. TN panels in todays age are pretty dang good
VN is the inbetween
Thanjs
You'd be hard pressed to tell them apart side by side
Got it
Does VIOTEK have good monitors? They look pretty cheap
I don't know the brands. Can't help much there
I thought AOC had some cheap good monitors
There was an aoc 1080p 144hz monitor at like 140$
My friend had one, says its pretty good
Ya, you arne't putting CPU heat into the case
Sweet
Wityh a top mount AIO anyway
@upper condor SSD has no real reviews so who knows whether it has a good controller, is DRAMM-less, etc. Also only 2060S for a 2k system? Know you have more than just PC itself but that seems a bit little. Corsair is also overpriced on their peripherals. As a note for their mice, they have a high failure rate. left/right keys fail semi often, middle mouse gets clogged with dust real easily causing it to not work
and drop the 7.1 "gaming" headset
get a real headset, you'll enjoy it more
Yeah, swap that Adata for a Sabrent Rocket
If you're only gaming at 1080p it's overkill
Which is why i chose the 2060
Unless you're trying to max out at 144 FPS
Sennheiser, Audio Technica, or Sony have some decent ones
HyperX is meh
I've had a good experience with my Kraken Pro V2
But don't have experience with any others to speak to, so take my advice as you will
hey is this missing anything? this should all work well together and be a decent starter gaming pc correct?
I am not an expert. It seems like it'd work fine. I do wonder if the new 2nd Gen Ryzen R5 1600 AF (https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Processor-Wraith-Stealth-YD1600BBAFBOX/dp/B07XTQZJ28?tag=gamersnexus01-20) might be a better choice if you don't mind not having integrated graphics. If you don't want to pay $85 for a cpu right now you could probably live with the stock cooler until you have money for a better one. GN has a video on it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRO_AUdmfis
In this review, we're looking at AMD's new Ryzen 5 1600 AF processor, which is a 2nd Gen Ryzen CPU (with 1st Gen naming) to replace the R5 1600.
Sponsor: Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL (Newegg https://geni.us/KmQGR)
AMD somewhat silently released a new CPU -- the AMD Ryzen 5 1600 AF...
Again, not an expert here @sacred obsidian
yeah see im not an expert either but im trying to help someone do a decent starter build with upgradeability
also im pretty sure the g3000 doesnt come with a stock cooler
wait but the ryzen 5 1500 should lemme check
Yeah I meant the stock cooler on the 1600 refresh
GN argues that the 1600 refresh with a discrete GPU (like in your build) is a better value than the 3400G๐คทโโ๏ธ
Someone else can hopefully offer more expert advice, but that's an idea fwiw
ok so the 1600 i guess is iunno. showing as really pricy for what it is on part picker and theres only one option or something
but the 1500x is cheapish
will a b450m fit x series?
I don't know. Check that specific Amazon link I gave above. It's a new part apparently that is $85
thanks mod
yep
@sacred obsidian Switch CPU to R3 1200 and PSU to Corsair CX as EVGA BR sucks
Also spend $10 more on 16GB total RAM instead of the overpriced 8GB
Also that SSD kinda sucks
what SSD?
theyre super limited in their budget
I must knowledge this
Any good psu recommendations for around $80 or less? On pc part picker it says the estimated wattage is 319 watts. Semi modular would be good because this will be my first build.
@stark meteor There really isnt any decent semi modular PSUs tbh. Only PSUs with legitimate decent quality are non modular or fully modular. Anyways, here is a decent fully modular PSU for $80
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/4m3mP6/fsp-group-hydro-ge-550-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-hge550
How about the corsair cxm or evga bq?
CXM has coil/fan whine issues and BQ has bad load regulation, bad ripples on minor rails, bad transient response on the 3.3v rail, is noisy, and lacks over temperature protection, plus a few other things
Ok thanks alot
@cursive wharf sorry to bother you again but you seem to know alot, if I increased my budget to 100$ would that open up a lot of good options?
@stark meteor You'd get a bit better. But nothing that is like a lot better. Corsair RM/RMx or Phanteks AMP are a few options that would probably be in that price range. Tho I'd put the money towards something else first as so long as the PSU is decent it doesnt need to have a high priority in replacing.
hey guys im new here just wanted to ask a couple questions if thats okay
ryzen 5 3600 with a radeon rx 5700 good enough for a beginner streaming pc?
used 1070Ti/1080 for around $250 USD or 2060 for $350 would be better for streaming
@cursive wharf earlier today you mentioned that the Zen+ 3200G is barely superior to the Zen 2200G? Does this hold true for the other Zen/Zen+ CPUs, e.g. 1600X/2600X, etc.
yeah. and as a fun little bonus for the 1600...
It's going to be replaced with the 1600 AF which is literally a Zen+ CPU, basically a 2600
How soon is that launching? I saw it in a video today but neglected to watch the full thing :V
Dont know that
Alright, Google it is

have you guys watched The Verge PC Build Guide?
my eyes are bleeding
xD
i wonder who made him host
them
maybe he talks techie staff at the background and channel wanted to test it out
that 2000$ build seems not a real 2000$ build xD
Hey
I wanted to confirm somethong
I plan to get 4 RBG Corsair fans 140mm
Where would i place it on a Fracteral Meshify C
well, there is only 4 places 140mm fans can go in that case
click the "specifications" tab
read what i linked you :)
Gayhsbabdbsbfbbsnnn
Wait,
So i guess ill be doong 2 top? 2 front? and then the orginal 120 mm fan from Fracteral ?
Yeah i find that a bit sad 120 fps for a $2000 computer
that is your only option @gentle bay
since i know nothing about the rest of your system. (with that in mind)
Yeah thats what im getting
yes, it will be fine
below $30
you are aware that the included fans are more than enough @gentle bay ?
like 70-80
Yeah but RBG
lian li
My pc case?
a new case
instead of going for a cheaper case, remove the stuff that is not needed
around 80
like the rgb fans
I chose this one for the air flow
it has rgb
I want Rbg
for the rainbow part of this talk, you will have to talk with someone else
lol Naed.
For the actual airflow part. You are overdoing it imo
Thanks, but as of right nowโI'm purchasing on that list like rn rn
Hmm
Its okay
Go big or go home
This is the case im talking about
i am home @sudden turret
the panels are like doors
so.. lian-li has finally decided to copy everyone else? what a shame.
a long time ago lian-li was the "odd but really good quality" case manufacturer
mind, they have been overpriced (imo) for a long time
That is true.
why would i?
ah too late
that is like looking at playmobile tires for a racecar
