#building-and-recc-chat

I can't even say yes
Since my parents haven't said yes
Tbh it's just storage for me... mainly in my build imma be using my ssd and my m.2
I'm getting them both in 1tb, but the 3tb it's just cheap and used for if I run out of storage for my games
https://www.frys.com/product/9928696?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG @sweet charm how about that?
It's a good board, but it's not the best bang for your buck... that's why I was saying the tuf board.. it just has better vrm, but if you dont need it then yea it's all good
what's a vrm
@sweet charm https://www.frys.com/product/9344160?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG wow!
Are you not able to order from pc part picker??
No I live near Fry's
And they have some cheap prices for stuff
What about that?
@sweet charm
Id stick with Ryzen still
That works too, but the only reason I was saying to go with a ryzen 3rd gen, cause the specs are better than Intel now
@sweet charm You saw that Comet Lake is going to be LGA 1200?
Also @next tangle Ryzen right now is actually better because you would want price to performance
And also the hard drive you picked is a enterprise edition you'd want something more like the BarraCuda
Lastly you would never really want to buy used hard drive if those are ebay prices you put there because separated from a build there is a chance to have a bad drive or a fake one.
Yea I heard, but I didnt completely understand it...
Was trying to understand what it was about
Pretty much the new Intel chips you have to buy a whole new motherboard
Damn... always about the money
This is why i like Ryzen cause i can keep using the same board
Yea... that's, why I was telling him to get a more exspensive board... he wouldn't have to update bios or need a new one for awhile until a 4th gen ryzen came out
yes
What should I go with?
You can use Intel/Nvidia, Intel/AMD, AMD/Nvidia and AMD/AMD
Right now with the Ryzen chips you can still use the 1660
NVidia is the dominant make, so go with Nvidia
Unless you want to go with brand loyalty, then go AMD/Radeon
@deft python They are in one market not all
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/sjbX9J this was the build I sent to him with the lowest I could find at the time๐๐
So far, Navi is nowhere near as good as Nvidia's midrange
Sad to say
Foolish to think otherwise
Really?
5700XT's are 100$ less than 2070 Super
and close to the same performance when paired with Ryzen
The SU series after a certain period of time starts getting hotter than usual
I have a SU650 and SU800 both after a month of using was a constant 50c when doing nothing
With the 2070, you're paying for Ray Tracing basically
Only like a handful of games support Ray Tracing, yeah
But if you want bleeding edge and future proofing, you go with the 2070 Super
It's just giving advice on cards๐๐๐
How about that
I found that too
Well we are also talking about builds so
And it's by a seller with like 260K stars
M.2 is alright but that is also sata not NVMe
Stock CPU cooler is okay, but I still recommend the cooler master 212 rgb black edition, best cooler for the price tbh
Also like i said before don't buy drives on ebay there is a good chance you can get scammed or get a faulty drive
I can get a refund
If it is faulty it doesn't present itself right away
everything would look fine and all at first and then after the refund window is closed it can hit you
And besides that you have no idea if the drive would even have the manufacture warranty
@sweet charm This is a little more from your build but it is also a little better https://pcpartpicker.com/list/J6bX9J
i opt'd out for a faster SSD and went for a Seagate drive cause i have never had issues with them
Yea, but his budget is close to 900
Unless he wants to try and raise some extra to really get the extra stuff..
Well what is he planning on playing for starters?
Tbh I would recommend just getting the main component and then buying the rest later
If you have 500$ now and you sell your system for between 200$ to 300$ and save a little extra you can buy a lot better than looking on ebay
im fast ๐
๐๐
oddly i type fast with using only 3 fingers lol
the Wraith coolers are good for just the way things are
Also cut down on memory too save some hassle to get the 1660ti
@next tangle Tell me most of the games you play now and what you plan on playing in the future
GPU is probably the most important thing in your pc other than cpu
depending on what he plays he can go a little lower on the CPU
YES
Settings
OF COURSE
Yea
I'd recommend a ryzen 7 3700 or 3700x tho
I was first thinking of getting a i9 9900k 2080 super, but is that overkill?
Its overkill, but it's worth it
Should I go with i7 9700k 2070 super then
@next tangle If you use everything else you have right now in the system you have it would have to be this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LgKh4q
Would you go used for GPU's?
Yes
RX 570 8gb or RX 580 4gb/8gb
How much would it cost to make a very high quality i7 9700k 2070 super setup?
nah man thatโs 3400$
I only wanna spend up to $2000, but can do less
Would that be a good enough budget for pro gaming
:/
@sleek mist You can do it with like a 3700X and 5700XT or something
You don't need to go extreme
Really
YES
@next tangle For GPU's on ebay it is best to take a chance from the bidding system
Big youtubers don't need a lot of money for a PC
@sleek mist I have 1.4K subs and have a trash pc like this
@sleek mist https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tpbX9J my build I'm grtting... it's enough to do 4k editing streaming at 1080p and guaranteed to run at 80+ frames on every game at 1080
I know I'm not famous..
it is the only way to spend up to that 70$ mark
@sweet charm bruh thatโs so expensive tho
WHAT IS A VRM
Some times you can get lucky from a bid cause i have won a few GPU's for less than 100
Can I do what u said with a 2070 and i7
@sleek mist YOU DON'T NEED A LOT OF MONEY FOR A PC TO BE A BIG YOUTUEBR
Hahaha it's just the monitor keyboard and mouse at the end
PEOPLE WITH LIKE 500 SUBS HAVE LIKE 9900K AND 2080 TIS
I'VE SEEN IT
sorry i didn't mean to have caps lmao
The i7 is more exspensive
I wanna be able to play all games at high settings
@next tangle cause i am too lazy to explain so here https://i.gyazo.com/3eb996bff2ae688ed5d1cd483f43aff4.png
@sleek mist my build is only exspensive cause of the monitor, keyboard and mouse
Pretty much if you want to overclock it gets hotter so most motherboards will have a heatsink on it but only the more expensive one's
If you subtract those it's only 1900 @sleek mist
@next tangle one other thing you can do is keep using your RX 560 with the new build it won't hurt it and wait for the RX 5600 series
@sleek mist 2000๐๐๐
@next tangle how old are you man?? Cause if your 16 or something, I just recommend you to get a job real quick and wait the 2 weeks to get like 200 dollars
Yes
@sweet charm I have a case suggestion that would cost less than the case and RGB fans you picked
Post it
I just want the meshify due to it being really good for airflow.. think about putting 6 fans in it unless I can out more
Should I do 2080 super i7 or i9 2070 super
Was thinking about the rosewill too... but I want a black class due to it matching my room layout... blue, black and grey/steel
They have a black version
Go for the 2080 super it's more worth it
And what procedure
Is it dark tempered glass
Processor
Stop before I get both๐๐๐
i prefer clear cause i can really see inside my case
Yea, true, but I also wanted the dark build too...
and for where the AIO is located there is a vent on the other side and a panel that removes
I still recommend ryzen 3rd gen.. @sleek mist only because it is on par and sometimes even better than intel now
I donโt know anything about those
@sleek mist The problem i am seeing with Intel right now is if you want to do any upgrades for your CPU you need a new motherboard
All I know about is intel
The 3000 series for ryzen
Really? You can change stuff if you use Ryzen
yes
Intel's new cpu coming out is gonna need a new motherboard to run, whenever you decide to upgrade to it
they use the same socket for everything
Ima look into Ryzen and amd
Wait but you donโt need a new motherboard for graphics card right
No
@sleek mist If you look here the 3700X and 9700K is pretty much on par as well https://i.gyazo.com/89d41a828cd44a09d32bb65ad5c83308.png
the only difference is the 3700X has more threads which helps with a lot of things
The 3700x is only 329 for me๐ค๐ค
so is Ryzen better
Yes
yea
9700k got dunked on hard. Only thing that intel has that holds a candle now is the 9900k
My saying is go for price to performance than performance to price
But you'd rather get the ryzen 9 3900x if you're trying to get a i9-9900k
well idk this is my first pc
More cores and threads
If i remember the Ryzen 5 3600X has better single core performance from the 9900K lol
you'll have more constancy with the 3700x, specially if anything is running in the backround while gaming
Well yeah Iโll be recording and stuff
@sleek mist Right now it is Ryzen and with future CPU's coming out for it you will have an upgrade path for it
So streaming wise it is the better choice
than yea. the extra threads allow you to offload more power and split the cpu more efficiently when recording or streaming
Just use my build unless you want to change things around
It's a solid build, cause it's my first one too
Oddly i am changing my Asus motherboard for a ASRock one ๐
The litteral only advantage the 9700k has is if you overclock it to like 5 ghz

than out of the box you'll have a better time with amd
Since I know nothing about that type of stuff
Yea 3700x is better without overclocking
3700x will overclock for you
Yup
so then for the graphics card I should go with a 2080 or 70 super
seems like ur build was cheap with the 2080
if you wanna keep the graphics for 2 generations I would say 2080 super if you can
if you can afford 2080 go for it
My budget is 2k
Check out the iFixit Essential Electronics Toolkit at https://ifix.gd/2L6qikW or visit https://ifixit.com/Linus for more great tools! Use code LINUS and get ...
@sweet charm This is what i am using now https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813119137
@sleek mist this video
I have like $800 to spend on the monitor and keyboard and mouse. Desk and chair also
This is what i am getting https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813157868
oh. that limits things
yeah..
unless bitcoin can rise a lil bit in 10 days
monitor is prolly gonna be $500, thinking about getting the Alienware 25
@sleek mist I would recommend a stronger motherboard if you're wanting to do video editing
like what
X570 tuf
Iโm new to editing, I just wanna be able to compete and edit like the pros
wait so is this 2k for the desktop and 800 for the other stuff?
yeah
oooh
thats good budget for some yummy parts than. Than yea do a 2070 super or a 2080 super depending how you wanna adjust your budget
those will be plenty
just dont expect 4k miricles with a 2070 super
The TUF series is nice but if you want more RGB and great cooling you can go for the Steel Legend series instead ๐
Yup
Iโm gonna make a pc part picker with everything I know rn
even 2080 super would be iffy with 4k
Yea or just pay an extra 100 for the x570 taichi
@latent bronze rx 5600?
Yea, but its be better than the 2070 @rough loom
I donโt need 4k tho lol
@next tangle yes it is said to come out sometime this year and will be on par with the 1660/1660Ti
most streamers just chill with 1080 p right?
NO
Yes
NO
and most likely of course cost less
720p is plenty
720p
oh dam
1080p (rarely)
well it should be more than enough
990p is even hard to run with an 8700k and 2080
1080p monitor or 2k monitor should be plenty for gaming
Tryna be the 1% that has 1080p
a 3700x and 2080 super, easily
just get a nice 2k monitor
I have seen a lot of streamers do 1080p
If you want to know about streaming stuff,
Talk to me
@latent bronze Not stable though
If it's on Twitch
well Iโm more focused on YT then streaming
The only streamers that does 720p are people that has weaker systems
Agreed @sleek mist
@sleek mist Even with expensive PC's, you won't get far
Iโm not really gonna try to stream till I get big
You need to know that before even starting a channel
yeah ik
@next tangle I have streamed at 1080p and it is very stable and i have had no complains when i asked people watching me
Put time into it
yeah I gotta get a mic
Be repetitive
eh not exactly. twitch limits 1080p streaming to select groups
Hahaha @sleek mist stream so people know how you are...
A lot more to YouTube
Also at the time i was using a Ryzen 5 2400G as well
you have a bandwith limit
So
yeah maybe
What should I get for 500$?
The processor, motherboard and memory you should get for now use that and in time you then upgrade your GPU
GPU is the most exspensive part about it
whatโs ur channel @next tangle
@sweet charm depends on which GPU
What country are you in?
no way the RX 5600 will be 400
@sleek mist not saying, I'm cringe
The RX 5700 is almost 300$
Yea I know
what you're thinking of is 5800
what brand card should I get for the 2080 super
EVGA
@sleek mist whatever you want ๐
yeah I heard evga was rly good for cooling
and the Rog is crazy too
Those were my 2 choices
srsly
yis
I have a Asus ROG Strix card and i actually had to replace the thermal paste after 8 months of using it
yis yis yis
hard to say whats in stock. Personally I go with EVGA
if you want something more flashy looking go with another brand
Dang did it @latent bronze
@sweet charm want to see the poor thermal paste job on my card
yis yis yis
Sure
Message me when you guys can talk about my 500$ budget for an upgrade
it was more around the die than on it
non conductive paste so they kinda just slap it on there
not only that it got hard to the point i had to chip it off the heatsink
Deepcool Z9 which i have is non conductive
thatโs what I got so far
Woaj
@sleek mist are you planning on gaming 1080p, 1440p or 4K?
Mostly 1080p streaming
What do the tubers do
1440
Yeah then 1440
Well streaming you can have it set for 1080p but your game you can have it on 1440p
For those that have to power too
your play quality isnt the same as your recording quality
I should get 1440p recording quality then
You can still use the 2070 Super or you can use the 5700 XT
you can game at 2k or 4k and still record at 1440p or 1080p
with the setup I linked?
@sleek mist the main question is what games are you playing and plan on playing
idek yet lol
well you can give a rough idea
Rust so we can play together๐๐๐
so with what your building and going to be recording on. your gonna need some beefy storage
since high res recordings use alot of space
Definitely league and rust
So you want him to play a troll game ๐ค
How much storage would be good
League can run on a potato system lol
Like 3 TH?
I recomend the 3 tb I was getting
Its $50us.. super cheap for 3tb

SSD?
When you stream are you using more than one monitor?
Well I only wanna do 1 monitor now
like. 240/512 base for your main OS. and atleast 2tb secondary for larger games and recordings
just cuz for the first but Iโm only doing yt
if not another gaming ssd
@sleek mist Ill show you something with AMD graphics can do for streaming
Run 256 adata ultimate
So 2tb SSD and a HDD of 500
37.99
ok
and then if you want another ssd for high demand in loading time games
This is using the AMD ReLive https://i.gyazo.com/99195b982895501bad1535a6bf0c8f13.png
Recommend running 2 ssd or an m.2
and the streaming chat box works for all streaming platforms
Nvidia's in game stream chat only works with Facebook
yeah that actually looks rly good
I have been using that for streaming and i have no issues
Since itโll prob be a few months before I get another monitor
I can do that for now
this is what I use and I run out of space and Im not even recording footage
for 1440p gaming and 1080p streaming you can use the 5700 Xt
Yeah but can I get 1440p recording for yt
Yes
@rough loom I think i win lol https://i.gyazo.com/961c50caa49db7a585671a586fc19457.png
Thinking about running 3 3tb hdd
I have another drive I can plug in thats 3tb. I just dont use it
๐๐๐
Also the one you see at 1.8tb (it is actually a 2TB drive) is a hybrid drive ๐
the other 3 are all SSD's
I added that adatta 256 SSD
theo you don't count lol

Unless you have the money to run a 1tb ssd @sleek mist
Besides i can plug in my 10 external drives to have more drives lol
ight lemme check
Could anyone that's just reading this chat, can they DM me?
I still need to test my temps for Apex now with this new case
I need help with some stuff
I recommend the corsair k95, if you wanna have the fastest reaction time possible for gaming, @sleek mist
corsair k95 speed switches are so good
@next tanglethe list we sent you early help you upgrade cpu motherboard and memory
@next tangle the gpu can be changed later
I actually want to try out that Cooler Master hybrid keyboard still
https://www.newegg.com/black-cooler-master-lite-l-cm-mem-chanical/p/N82E16823129060 for those who doesn't know what i mean
ultra high end keyboards are such a waste. I have one and its pretty meh
You want the UK one lol
The quickest ones
brown if you hate stupid clicky click. specially if your recording voice audio
should I do a 850w gold
If you have a good mic it should be able to cancel out to keys or muffle it
800 is pretty safe
could probably go with less
850w is just for the upgrade in the future
800w to 850w is nice to have
how does it effect anything
Well if I wait to get a new gpu
never know in the future when you upgrade as well
It'll be like a year
just wiggle room incase you ever want to overclock pulling more power
@next tangle save money and spend it on a new one
Also you never know if you would do SLI/Xfire as well
@sweet charm I can't
ok yeah ima see what good 800 golds there are
take it from me. Just dont do SLI/crossfire
@next tanglehow come??
no money ๐ฆ
Its been miserable for 2 years
Damn
I was a news paper carrier
@next tangle It you want to hit 500 and want a GPU as well you might have to opt out the 3600 for a 3400G
bust out a mower and hit them lawns
Christmas, I don't get money
@rough loom Can't, parents won't let me
Birthday, I get 100$
But my parents put it to my college ๐ฆ
So I'll be stuck with this
thats smart
Should I do a evga power supply
Yes
I WOULD HAVE 1300$
if your on super budget. Used parts
BUT MY PARENTS PUT 1300$ TO COLLEGE
college costs like 30 grand a year. Cant blame them
@rough loom See, I need to convince my dad because he says I need to get new parts, not used
I'll attempt on convincing ๐ฆ
EVGA makes good PSU's
@rough loom It is a lot less in Canada for college cause there is a lot of American's that comes to Canada for schooling
@next tanglegoodluck and may the odds be in your favor
thanks ๐ฆ
and you get the same level education as well as those 30k schools
That is good
Yea
Sure
thats a good PSU
Yeah that's good
Same one I'm getting
Nice
I have a supernova g2. they are good
If only it was rgb๐๐
no...rgb psu..shun
Hahaha if only
Who said go with the 3400G?
@sweet charm want to see the one i am getting lol
thats like rgb ssd's
Imma make one๐๐
I think I'll just go with the 2600
Do I need a cpu cooler or nah
It would help
uuuh. Not overclocking prob not
3400G has an iGPU as well so you can sell your GPU order a new one and use the iGPU for the time being
a better cooler would make life better though during video rendering
and be not as loud
Stock is fine, but that's also if your case has enough airflow too
well I kinda would like that
HB do you like the PSU i am getting ๐
look up
I saw
I was thinking about those, but they are too much for me...๐๐
Tryna get a 850 80+ gold
Well PSU like that makes sense for my case as well
i have a top mounted PSU on my case
so i will get the RGB effects
Yea it would look amazing for mine too since I can remove part of the shield
HB want to know the improvement i have been getting with this case
Yea sure
All I need is a case & OS now
When playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider with my old case and after changing the thermal paste in my GPU i was getting 71c on average
this case 51c on average
I heard h500 mesh was good and also heard itโs bad
If you want alot of airflow recommend the meshify c
20c less than my old case and my old case had 6 fans this one has 4
@eckstein that's hot
I need something really cool
Guys
90 would be
2600 and cpu cooler or 2600x and stock cooler
HB on my old case before changing the thermal paste i was getting 80c on average
yep
Anyone know?
i couldn't play any demanding games
If I should get 2600 and a cpu cooler or 2600x and stock cooler
2600x with stock is fine
Ok
What do I do about the os, I have no idea what to pick
@latent bronze that would suck
Windows 10 64 bit
average temps you will get with the 2600X anyways on idle would be 40c and when gaming should hit around 55c to 60c which is still fine
if you want to overclock you need a 3rd party cooler
but the 2600X i don't see the point of overclocking right now
Yup
Might as well get a 3400g or a 3700x
Should I go with a 1700X?
What do you guys think, is there anything I should add or remove
@sleek mist wadu hek, I can't even afford 1000$ ๐ฆ
I have a 3rd party cooler on mine right now but i am planning on doing in 2 months to replace it for this https://www.newegg.com/cooler-master-masterliquid-ml240l-rgb-liquid-cooling-system/p/2YM-0004-00015
@sleek mist https://pcpartpicker.com/list/h7V6cY
if it doesn't have rgb, it's not a cpu cooler ๐
Cooler i am using now is Deepcool S40 which is good but i want to overclock
why
If you want a 3rd party cooler I'd just recommend noctuas if you want, but you really only need it if you are overclocking
Well i want that for 2 reasons and one is for cooling better and two is for looks with my system
Water coolers are mainline just for looks tbh
Manly
Mainly
Their good, but the noctuas are a better cooler
HB not everyone loves those brown fans lol
eeeh I dono if I agree with water coolers are just for looks
@sleek mist are you going for overclocking or staying on stock speeds?
Thinking about buying covers or spray painting them
Staying to stock
Yeah lol
could stick to a 240 rad instead of a 360 rad
240/280 is plenty of AIO
360 is alittle big for a ryzen 7 anyways at stock
wdym the cooler?
Yee
What should I change it to
240 or 280
360 is rediculous overkill
depending on where you mount it, might not even see it
6-30 dB good?
Does it also give you Nintendo Power
30db is real quiet
Meshify c front panel let's all 3 fans be seen
So I donโt need to add any extra fans or anything?
like I got a 240 thermaltake in the top of my case. Legit cant see it
that all comes in the case?
Did you guys ever see the all out gaming PC
depends on the case
The 60k build?? @latent bronze
Meshify c
Meshify c is one of the best for airflow
The front allows rgb fans to be seen
The triple fan would look nice on it tho
Not gonna lie
This build https://www.originpc.com/landing/2019/big-o
When ORIGIN PC began in 2009 we set out to build powerful PCs including the Big O: a custom gaming PC that included an Xbox 360 showcasing our customization prowess. In honor of our 10th Anniversary and the legacy of the Big O, we created an all-new Big O combining a powerful...
uuuh. Meshify C only has 2 fans stock
So do I need to buy extra fans for it
if you top mount your AIO cooler, might need 1 more for the front
Look at what is in that PC lol
alrigh
For those who doesn't click the link this is the specs https://i.gyazo.com/9ae498a2318e22893c99515feb7f20ea.png
if you want RGB fans than you need 3
It's only 64 GB of ram... wack๐
or atleast 2 for the front, the back being black
Buy the 3 rgb fan I'm getting
@sweet charm At least with that PC you can play that spider man game lol
would be silly to buy that thing, specially since the ps4 and xbox one is going to be replaced soon
k so I buy like 2-3 120m rgb fans
But ya if the Xbox and PS4 was going to last another 2-3 more years that system would be worth it
thats about the extent of my knowledge for rgb. I dono if you need a rgb controller hub
@rough loom my case has a control button for the RGB
I mean for uqb's case. I dont think the meshify has a controller with it
Or that's what sony said
Yea not controller, but you can just download the software
what you see on the side is air vents
Timmy joe did a review of that thing, thermals werent the best
I like it, but I want that front panel to be open
I cant tell from that pic
But I didnt want to spend anymore than 100 9n a case
@rough loom This is the case https://c1.neweggimages.com/NeweggImage/ProductImageCompressAll1280/11-147-298-V01.jpg
a bunch of manufactuers are going with weird abstract closed fronts. Starting to all look the same
I don't think Timmy Joe reviewed that one
He reviewed one that was pretty much just like it, XD
problem is, depending on how you mount a AIO or something, one of your components is going to get hot
so you will either get heat soak inside the case because of lack of exhaust
Right now my motherboard temp is 27c, CPU is 28c to 33c and my GPU is at 22c and this is all just when chatting with you guys
do I need thermal paste? I have no idea how that works
or most likely gpu exhaust is going to push up to a CPU cooler
AIO comes with it
doesnt hurt though
I just squirt it on the processor
It should come with the cpu
https://i.gyazo.com/9992807c8ee0a9337dbf85a890e5f239.png this is the temps i have for MB and CPU
A little goes a long way
Pea size only
Too much and you can mess up parts
Not enough and you can fry to whole system
some thermal paste comes with an applicator so you can spread it around
yep
this is my first time ever building anything lol
lmaoo
the applicator helps if you are worried it might not spread properly
by the time you squish it down and set the screws its usually good to go, never had a problem
and I was using artic silver 5. thats conductive stuff so you cant afford to mess up
Why a sand witch and not an ocean witch or a grass witch lol
the grit helps
Fire witch is the best
nah lightning witch is the best
I can use light transfer๐
when i swap my AIO over ill use some of this thermal grizzly I got
I have like 3 things of it, no idea why
if you don't have much left then yes
Also having more thermal paste helps when you have to replace your old one
I bought 2 types because I didnt wanna keep using artic sliver 5
like artic silver 5 is sketchy if you screw up
I find after 2 years it is best to change the thermal paste on your CPU
And how do you clean it
Thanks
99% is best but you can use 70%
Okay
just remember to close the cap, that stuff evaporates fast
Yup
i had a small container that i put some alcohol in and i passed out .... 6 hours later was still there
What was the temps
bit I bought some Thermal Grizzly hydronaught and some Noctua NT-H1
@sweet charm When replacing thermal paste make sure you have a dry paper towel as well for wiping wait about 5 minutes to put the new paste and to be on the safe side wait about 10 minutes before powering your system
Alright
was going to pull apart my 2nd 1070 since i think its thermal paste is going bad. But that things hard to dissasemble so I just made it my SLI slave card instead of the primary
The thermal paste i have with me right now is Arctic Silver 5 and Deepcool Z9
Z9 is their high end stuff
Do you need to put thermal paste on gpu??
only if your getting bad temps
Ohh alright
only replace the thermal paste if it is still hot after cleaning it with compressed air
Hahaha getting the 2080 super rog
cause you have the back plate as well right?
back plate and the rgb and cooler design
@sweet charm the one thing that will scare you for changing the thermal paste on your GPU is the warranty sticker
unless you buy a EVGA card
So if a card fries could I send it in for a new one
I hope EVGA's 30xx series cards are less ugly
with EVGA yes
What about asus?
I mean warranty is warranty
if you destroy the warranty screw sticker on the Asus card you can say goodbye
if it fails within the timeframe you either get a new one as replacement or if its end of life you might get a new gen card
unless you live in the USA
Reason: Bad word usage
Mera i know i asked Asus and i am in North america
You can sue Asus for not doing warranty replacement in the USA for having the warranty void thing
US made it consumer law that warranty void stickers are bull
and are not means of denying replacements
But the company is not really US anyways
Oh ya you also saw there is a 3rd party jumping in between AMD and Nvidia lol
Imma sleep see ya guys...
Have you guys ever used bitcoin to purchase on Newegg
no. I stay away from crypto
Does Newegg hold your funds or anything?
This is gonna be my first purchase on Newegg
No idea. I imagine they might hold it for a tiny bit just to confirm payment and make sure the value doesnt suddenly dip below on exchange rates
I dono. I dont deal with crypto or even no what that is
Im amazed they even take crypto
yeh lol
the amount of purchases that could be used from theft and fraud are scary probable with crypto
I just had $1k in bitcoin and it rose so I have $2.5k ready to buy a pc
My pc is only $2000 so Iโll have $900 leftover now
to buy the rest of my setup
@sleek mist want to know how to turn normal fans into RGB fans
How
oh those fan shroud things
wow
https://youtu.be/0q6Yq8rLEeQ?t=102 if you want to know how they work https://youtu.be/0q6Yq8rLEeQ?t=102
Want to spice up your current none RGB system? Well the Phanteks HALOS RGB fan frames are on the cheapest and best ways to do that. *************************...
and you can even do it on AIO's without RGB on it
So @sleek mist do you think this is cool?
Yeah Itโs dope does it have a remote for it
I can basically get whatever fan I want and just put that on it
yo thatโs actually rly good since I need rgb
You would have to use your motherboard software for it
This was my first pick for my pc Iโm building: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QD9JCb
A guy over in the pc part picker discord changed some stuff for me and said this is the best possible combination: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TnjpxG
Which one is better?
what is the best ventilation case to use?
Also, I know the best is water cooled, but do you have to have it?
A great air cooler is just as good as a lot of AIO and water cooled for 1/2 the price
So no, not needed.. unless you plan to OC
I mean, I am not a heavy gamer since I play xbox.
Then save the $$ and get better parts overall vs a water system..
How much degrees cooler does water cooled usually get on the cpu?
Depends on settings and what you are running.
Linus has a few You tube videos about Air vs Water and shows the difference between them.. CPU, Airflow, type of cooler all change what it does
I was thinking about getting a desert storm pc but then I was thinking about the price
Even an AIO water cooler is effected by airflow into the case.. so you can have a great cooler, and poor airflow and it would be worthless
what is the best case to get for ventilation?
All depends on how big you want to go, what MOBO your using will determine case size
http://www.lian-li.com/pc-o11-air/ thatโs mine.... and I absolutely love it
Dual chamber allows lots of air flow options and great cable management.
@sleek mist if you plan to overclock (which you should) go with 850w
And I know a trustworthy website you can get windows 10 pro for 14$
@next tangle Too late i already showed him
Showed him what?
Yeah Iโm doing the supernova g3 850 watt
And I suggest the tuf x570 plus mobo
I mean itโs gonna be like $100 off because ecks showed me how to get windows 10 for cheap
no lol
But whyyy
I donโt have 20k
it looks like thereโs no rgb in my build
You really want rgb?
kinda idk
Since you dont care about money, I can edit that list that will equal to a little more
is water cooling cpu unneeded
nah my budget is like $2050
Ima try stay as tight as possible so I have left over money for monitor and the whole setup
Iโm not overclocking
I actually donโt know what mobo to get
some guy just put that one there
yeah tuf is what I had before but he changed it
@next tangle Weren't you having a hard time last night picking out parts for yourself?
That ASRock taichi is nice looking
yeah but itโs like 300
Yeah 500 is hard
but 570โs have a great used market
and u can get a 1600 for $80 at microcenter
oh ic
Oregon
Mhm
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8KvnsZ well guys I'm probably gonna go with that but maybe a 2600 if my dad says yes.
I can stream gpu
what about a case or psu
I'm upgrading my current pc
gotcha
Reusing some of the parts
I'm thinking of selling my whole pc and just add a 70$ case to that list
Iโd say either go with a 1600 or 2600, cause thatโs only 4 cores and you donโt need an agpu
If you are willing to buy a A400 i would say go a step up and get a Team Group SSD
How much is that?
about the same price
And what team group ssd?
Is it faster?
This is the one i am using now https://pcpartpicker.com/product/vYQG3C/team-l5-lite-3d-240gb-25-solid-state-drive-t253td240g3c101
It is as fast as 2.5" models can do
Should I get yours?
doing a test to show you mine
I used the A400 as my main OS drive before and after 2 months it started to slow down a lot close to what my hybrid drive performs for i went for Team Group haven't had problems since
also the A400 i use it now as a secondary drive
@next tangle This is the results of my test for my SSD https://i.gyazo.com/cb8fa3bfd51715006140a3c3300e1808.png
@next tangle This is also the speed of the A400 i am using https://i.gyazo.com/f74e7f2007bd6f7fe42350eae5a2396a.png
np
i have a 1050 ti gaming x
The A400 was just like my other SSD with the high speed but after time it got a little slower
decent GPU
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BMXS6SH/ @latent bronze is that good?
nvme drives are crazy fast
yea
if you're getting m2 definitely shoot for nvme
wd is good for budget, samsung makes expensive good ones
yeah but its qlc
wd is like 110 for the 1tb and doesnt slow down
then yeah go for that lol
be back in about 30 minutes and @deep skiff look at this while i am gone https://www.newegg.com/western-digital-blue-sn500-nvme-500gb/p/N82E16820250116
Does anyone know if I bought these 2 memory kits separately and put them in the same system if it would work?
^
ok im back
@deep skiff If you looked at the one i linked it is about 4 times faster than the one you like
The one you linked https://i.gyazo.com/cb143bae3d45ba9abe8c4a41e9ae0cf3.png
the one i linked https://i.gyazo.com/e07ac1b776a1d5d590d767c014a99dd8.png
When going for an M.2 storage drive you want something with better performance
My m.2 is a 970 pro
Samsung does make nice drives but also very expensive
Yeah, you're paying a premium for performance that is only slightly better than a WD or an Evo
Unless you didn't already have an NVME m.2 or have money to blow, Samsung drives are hard to shell out for
If you are just gaming and streaming i find that 1700 Mbps is the sweet spot
I do kind of want that new Corsair PCIe m.2 they came out with recently
if doing heavy work loads on your system you would then go for something faster
