wtf happened to ram prices
oh right
two weeks ago the dram mafia came together and said prices will go up
which games
USA?
Yes
whats your budgt and do you need stuff other than the pc
1.8k to 2k and uhh probably just a better monitor
i have an asus gaming 120hz
black or white build
white for sure
fishtank?
the front is glass ina fish tank
like rhis
actually more like this
yeah
yes that type
do you want a reallly good monitor
i mean you can afford a really good one
probably a samsung i don’t know which one tho
model>brand
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QxMQrM heres with a decent one
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 9070 XT, Lian Li Vector V100 ATX Mid Tower
Looks like prices are back to the march release
Rather
The week after release
Looks like we will wait a year after release for actual msrp cards
there is a below msrp one
its just not white
wait
msrp was 600
That is out of stock but the owercolor was 630
i kinda forget about that
no its in stock
I think this is what amd wanted but I be schizo like that
high end card asw
6900xt
it wouldn't get this hot before
Temps dropped like 5-10c when I first installed these fans under it
then I was getting bsods, crashes, and errors
installed windows freshly not even that long ago
beginning of september
wdym bad mounting?
how can you poorly mount it?
pins not being pushed in all the way?
like if there was a repaste and the remount wasnt good
maybe the heatsink is not screwed in enough or one side more than the other or something
if not that then the paste is old
given that it is a 6000 series card it probably has paste on it and is dried up
my reg gpu temp is 80-85
yea thats what I was thinking
has that always been the temp
yea
nice
9070
because it is faster while also being cheaper
it performs the same in rt but is faster without it while also having more vram
and if you care about video editing or encoding, it also has two encode/decode engines
@zealous moth
Say my entire life has been about having a desktop, but I'm warming up to the idea of a laptop and may want additional capabilities out of it...
Need to use it for travel-gaming, maybe will poke around with self hosting AI for lightweight projects while I teach myself (still learning foundationals), and will possibly be online 24/7 (so it would be nice to be able to remove the battery, leave it plugged into an outlet, and still retain power to make the battery last longer).
I know I'm probably asking for too much.... but if I can get 75% of the way there, I'll probably take it. I just don't know jack about non-business laptops.
I know I need to go nvidia for the GPU, but mostly because I was told they got the leg up. Not sure if I need to get a specific series, yet.
pretty sure I'm going to order something and not build it. probably going to find something I can just have shipped. have a month to try to get one.
Why do you NEED nvidia
Explain to me your reasoning
Oh nvm laptop
Sorry
it wasn't fully explained to me though
i just was told they have the upper hand for AI
laptop for AI is mega cursed. strix halo is the only option that kinda works okay besides like 5090/4090 laptop because of vram constraints
@obsidian wigeon between these 2 which would you say is better:
https://a.co/d/ds8vXy7
https://a.co/d/hnZl9y0
Built for relentless performance and durability, the ASUS TUF Gaming A18 stands out with its robust Jaeger Gray chassis adorned with the iconic TUF logo and military-grade reliability. Its expansive 18-inch WQXGA (2560x1600) display features an ultra-fast 240Hz refresh rate and 16:10 aspect ratio...
srry for the ping iirc ur the laptop expert here
the legion is by far the better one
wait wrong one
legion meant to be 5070 + i7 13650hx
13650hx..
ok
is the asus cooling system good?
That one is the 2025 variant?
would work ok for a makeshift desktop?
Does it cool better when open
it haven't been reviewed yet
but i'd recc keeping the lid open
but turn the screen off if you wanna run it like a desktop
Can i have it like on the side as a secondary monitor
yes
9070 xt, 9070 is usually better value tho and not much weaker at all
what if i can't acsess both of em for that price
then try 5070
9070xt
see what's available in 2 months when ur actually shopping lol
Then wait till then
Hey so i just did a build but it starts and then shuts down within 1 minute it also does light sequence. Of
cpu red
Vga white
Ram yellow
Ive re seated everything double checked cables and yet it still won't stay on or anything any ideas on what it could be ?
Does it stick on ram or does it get to boot/storage then turn off?
Have a part list?
looks like it fails after a ram error
try only putting one stick in all the slots
and try booting with one in one slot each time
Designed for DDR5-enabled AMD AM5 platforms, Flare X5 series DDR5 memory is built for high performance in a low-profile design. Featuring AMD EXPO overclocking profiles for easy memory overclocking, users can easily enable overclocked performance by simply enabling EXPO in the BIOS on compatible systems.
Would I be able to use this ram for my 13600k?
Finally upgrading to ddr5 ✌️
Make sure to get a ddr5 board, and yea
ofc ofc
It just says designed for AMD platforms
But I doubt there’s any harsh downsides
youll be fine
what motherboard do you have, z690 or z790?
eh either one it should be fine with a 13600k
i personally run 2x16 6000 on my 13400f and i have a z690
what in the scammer
Z790 yeah

If I have a 5600 and a 6650XT what GPU would be a worthwhile upgrade?
realistically save up and upgrade your 5600 at the same time
9060XT 16gb
But you should also try to upgrade cpu to a 5800X3D or something, or maybe even upgrade to AM5 but that would require new cpu, ram, and motherboard
Hey, I bought the antec flux pro case, & the motherboard I'm thinking about getting is the "ASUS ROG STRIX X870-A GAMING WIFI".
The case has 3x140 front fans + 1x140 rear fan + 2x120 bottom fans.
I got an "Arctic liquid freezer III pro 420 AIO" I'll mount on top.
That has 3x140 fans + the pump header fan.
So this is all 9 fans + the aio pump header fan.
Y'all, how many fan connectors does my motherboard need? 😆
Does the "ASUS ROG STRIX X870-A GAMING WIFI" have enough? 😅
The mobo has 5+3 fan headers, so you could just get a singular splitter and figure out where you want to route everything, but it's going to be easiest with a simple sata powered fan controller
What does 5+3 mean exactly? Are some differently rated or something?
5 Chassis fan headers, 1 labeled for pump, 1 labeled for cpu cooler, 1 labeled for cpu opt
All of them are 1a, they're just going to be under different fan curve settings in bios
Gotchya. Thank you
I will say that mobo is pretty overkill in general though lol
I feel like splitting the bottom two 120's might be fine
Yaaa XD I know. I'm planning video work with a 5th gen m.2 for the sequential speeds & want a lot of usb connectors for flight & racing sim stuff basically 😅
I mean the way that would make the most sense is grabbing a 3-1 splitter for the aio fans so you can have it all under the same cpu cooler header
I mean you get gen 5 m.2 slots on b650 even
And what are you going to use it for? basically nothing can really make use of gen 5 seq speeds over gen 4 lol
I already got a crazy deal on a 4tb 5th gen m.2 😆 I'll be streaming & playing intensive sim games mostly. Looking to get a capture card to make videos at some point.
I did do some competition stuff in the past, but on gpu focused games
Not a big consideration
I mean, unless you're working with like 30min+ raw 4k files, it's not going to make a noticeable difference between gen 4 and gen 5 seq speeds, especially since you'd run out of pslc anyways if you're working with files that big lol
If you already have it and can't return it, it has a very slight advantage, but in my opinion, it's a waste of money going for gen 5 over gen 4
Anyways, I found the mobo on Amazon with 30 dollar discount. Plus there's 5% student cashback & 3% amazon card cashback...soooooo girl math says that's $240 with new york's 8% tax compensated for? 😅
Ehhhh, idk. I know my m.2 said it was SLC, but I've not heard of pSLC
I just hope that you also consider a cheaper board that would have most of the relevant features lol
I'm nervous about asrock boards with all the 9000 series issues reported.
pSLC is just pseudo SLC, it's running nand that's natively TLC in a SLC mode that's faster but can store less, basically all modern SSDs use a pslc cache, the name and how its described can be different though
Heard of some issues with gigabyte/aurus too now?
Yea I'd still avoid asrock for the time being until they give a better explanation
What issues?
I need to look into it more, but I guess they just have some reputation for cheaper parts and I'd heard briefly of some sort of issues.
I'd argue Asus has a far worse reputation when it comes to warranty lol
Not so bog a concern as asrock. Just heard something a while ago
Definitely good to know
Anyways one other option is going down to b650 and then getting an extra pcie usb card later on, another is a cheaper x870 board, x870-a isn't a bad board, just a bit expensive
(it can still be white lol https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F25ML4CK)
just other options
God I hate the product pages for these things. Just give me the list of crap. Lol
*Searches for audio codec info like it's the holy grail
If you care enough about the audio codec, you should have enough gear to make it not an issue lol
I may also play the instruments, & be looking for a dac
You should use an external dac either way
Have not chosen yet though & will probably use board audio for a while is all
I am picky...kinda want to save for one in particular
Lol
Just save some money on the board and buy a 2i2 or something lol
Nahhhh, i need more than a 2i2 unfortunately 😅
I mayyyyyy be selling my old keyboard too & upgrading with a slimmer model & putting it on a custom pull-out under desk tray
We'll see...
Ehhhhh, thinking about a thermal grizzly contact frame
They void mobo waranty though right?
As long as you keep the original mounting mechanism and return it with the original mechanism, not really
wtf, my heating issue went away after a bios update
my gpu hotspot floats around 75c to 85c now
bruh
So chat
I can have a 7900GRE and 7700
or a 7900GRE with 7800X3D
how big is the peformance between 7700 and X3D
i currently think i just use the AM5 platform to my advantage
and update later
thoughts ?
gonna be pretty dependent on the game
7800x3d is pretty hard to top
Arc graphics acts works pretty hard for driver updates so
Well the 7800X3D is going to be a 50/50 if I can get it
While I alr have the 7700
I still think I’ll just save up for a 9800X3D
Hmm
Well
As I sated I’ve go till December
So wish me luck
Hi, what do you think about this setup? (After converting from my currency, it comes to around ~$2500 USD.) I’m mainly concerned about the cooling — should I go with the NZXT one for $160 or the ALF 360 for $120? I’m also wondering about the case — I could reuse my old NZXT H440, but I’m not sure if it would provide good airflow for the current hardware. If you have any other suggestions regarding this build, I’d be happy to consider them. - https://pcpartpicker.com/list/g62pC8
I remember that this year's series' of gpu's were a let down back around feb/march. Have they been updated to be not a let down by firmware/driver updates or were the issues not resolvable by updates?
Issues I recall were that they had problems with games, but were fine for business or compute purposes.
If they're available in your region get a thermalright aio
9800x3d
the best advice is dont buy overpriced nzxt stuff
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, Cougar MX600 RGB ATX Full Tower
and yes best to get a new case
and you shouldnt get a specific model of 5070ti when other models are at msrp, its not worth it
The 4TB Lexar drives are good?
How do they compare to like a SN850X?
That’s the one that has like a third of the drive as cache right lol
I think the 1 tb has like 300 gigs
It’s not that good but it can write 6 gig/s for two minutes straight
I don't really remember. I just recall it having been considered the best at the time so I bought the 4TB variant at $230smth because I got fed up with slow drives.
Loved it since.
Pretty good.
Oh I was thinking of the sn770
After slc is used up then it goes to roughly 3 gig/s for a very long time
reaching out for my friend here:
if anyone is super experienced with building computers would you mind taking a look at my friends build? everything is plugged in correctly, however there seems to be a wiring issue, regarding the fans. The motherboard rgb turns on, however the fans, dont light up or spin at all, as well as the gpu fans.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xrWTKq
this is the list^
i gotchu bro
ok so the gpu is designed to not spin when its not under load
but you forgot to plug the fans in
all he needa do is go into the back and make sure he plugged everything in
good or meh if i slap a gpu later on ? https://fr.pcpartpicker.com/list/DhqL3w
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5500GT, Cooler Master Q300L V2 MicroATX Mini Tower
kinda broke :)
Can I send over my pc parts list this is my first one and just want to make sure I did a good job I’m wanting aesthetics but also a good gaming experience. I plays lots of ow, rivals, Minecraft, Elden ring, gta, red dead
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, HYTE Y70 Touch Infinite ATX Mid Tower
And I’ll obviously be getting fans as well but just wanted to make sure I didn’t miss anything or do something wrong
At that budget, it'll be a better idea to try to find something used
I really hope you have a better price for most of those parts lol
The aio+board is >3x your CPU's price
5070ti has been a good choice recently due to the price drops, but spending $850 on a 5070ti is still a bad deal, might as well just drop down to 9070xt and get a solid white 9070xt for $700 (Still overpriced, but a little less so)
You don't have to compromise on performance to still have good aesthetics
You can grab a white thermalright aio, whichever one looks best to you, for 1/4th of the price on average
You can get a full white 6000c30 2x16gb ram kit for $100
I'd really recommend not getting the Y70 touch in general with that cost, that's $300 in savings going with practically any case lol
With the money saved, you could upgrade CPU to x3d and/or upgrade the GPU again to maybe a 5080 with recent prices for those
yeah im tryna do cheapest shit possible
I mean buying parts new at <$400 is going to yield a lot less than hopping on the fbm equivalent and finding people offloading their old PC
i don't know mate, here in france it's kinda hard to find good things used (at least around my area)
please dont
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 9070 XT, SAMA 3509 ATX Mid Tower
getting my first pc, I saw this (https://www.newegg.ca/quoted-tech-gaming-desktop-pcs-geforce-rtx-5060-amd-ryzen-5-7500f-32gb-ddr5-1tb-ssd-clarity-plus/p/N82E16883984001) and i was wondering if you guys know if its upgradable in the future.
ill be honest it looks perfectly upgradable but that is HORRID for the price
you really should spend 1200 on your own parts to build one
its CAD price and not USD, is it still bad? If so, ill try to make my own
That’s 1200 cad correct
It’s not terrible but building yourself will be a good bit better
You can get a 9060xt 16gb + 7600x pc for the same price
Wait eewwwwww it’s a b840
:0 I dont know what those all mean T-T
Basically 9060xt 16gb is a lot better, and b840 sucks
okay so for sure I should go for a custom build?
Ok soooo lol I really want the hyte y70 still
It’s a case, it’s not worth even close to that much
Just get one that looks close
No lol
If you really want to spend that much on it go ahead but it’s a complete waste of money
So with that aside you said the graphics card is over priced which I agree
Everything you picked except the cpu was overpriced 😭
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pNYc9C if you really want that case here
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 9070 XT, HYTE Y70 Touch Infinite ATX Mid Tower
Ugh
🙇🏾♀️
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 9070 XT, HYTE Y70 Touch Infinite ATX Mid Tower
lol ummm
How big is the cache on the pny
Oh about 25% of the drive
All I did was change the board to the b850 ice because the ice looks amazing
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/R2fr4p
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 9070 XT, HYTE Y70 Touch Infinite ATX Mid Tower
I would have gotten the ice if my system was not itx
A white power supply of the same wattage is like 40-50% more
So you can just get the montech and get some white extensions on amazon
Works perfectly with all power supplies, such as RM, RMX RM550x, RM650x, RM750x, RM850x, RM1000x, HX1000 series, Corsair CX and so on. [Stable Performance] Adopting UL1015 16AWG copper tinned wire with 2.8mm diameter wire body, this white pc cable extensions is stronger energizing and heat resist...
Tbh thats not even much better than the b650e
True, but the io is great and also has wifi 7
While also in my opinion at least looking better
Up to pink tho
I like both boards
lol
Would the prices on the coolers get lower during Black Friday
With in a reasonable range
I don’t mind waiting
the cooler is alr only like 80$ lmao
what about this
wdym lcd fans
dont tell me youre actually going to get lcd fans...
you dont even wanna know how much those are
aka dont get em
should i buy 3600 or 5500 on a budget build ?
3600
Is the gigabyte rtx 5060 any good?
no
get 9060xt 8gb since you're ok with 8gb, but if you can get 16gb then get that
this is my build, I already went over budget https://newegg.io/402c202. Is there anything thats not compatible with each other or any improvements?
My recconmandation wait for ram prices to drop also use PC part picker
I don’t think ram is going to get any cheaper anytime soon.
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 3600, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Zalman S2 ATX Mid Tower
Cheapest i could do
With wifi
And running fh5
I could lower by 2€ or more but i want 650W for future proofing and i don't want b580's overhead issued
Issues*
get the 9070xt
do NOT spend 400$ on a case and like 300 on a gpu
How does this look to u guys. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/bJN6GJ
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Y8YdyW
How do we think of this build this a visualizer i will list of real price for me
Mobo 205 USD
Case: 55.30
Cooler: 85.75
RAM: 103 (HELL YEAH NO RAM PRICE SPIKE)
SSD:120.68 (No better choice)
GPU: unkown getting it used
total around i estimate 35000NTD or 1115 USD build with a 7700 and 7900GRE
Part List - Radeon RX 7900 GRE, Montech XR ATX Mid Tower
so the plan is too get a 7800X3D or Zen 6
so
7800x3d doesn't run all that hot
"future proof"
it only needs 88w of power to feed itself and run very fast
so peerless assiasin 120 Se it is ?
future proofing is a buzzword that's thrown around way too often
yes, that oughta be enough
alr
or any dual fan thermalright coolers
aio is better but it's not worth the extra cash that it demands
so yea
unless you run like a 9950x3d lol
Yo can anyone help me with a pc part picker list. Looking to play competitive games tarkov, valorant, etc. 1080p. Prefer price to be $1.2-1.5k.
Are you in the US?
Yeah
Do you need wifi
Are peripherals included in the budget
Any certain aesthetics you're looking after?
Nah
Sorry for asking a lot of questions, I have to make sure to optimize it
No i have everything already. Just need the pc
Nothing in mind, i prefer performance >rgb
Perfect then
I'll cook something up for you
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4d9C74 @velvet halo check this out
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 5070, Phanteks Eclipse G370A ATX Mid Tower
Looks great, thank u so much!
About what you really need for 1080p
I was throwing in a 9070xt but it went over budget
5070 for 500 is honestly pretty decent
it's 50 below msrp
Oh how much more would it have been
Like about 50 over budget
Hello everyone.
Oh yeah that's not a problem. about what % better is that compared to the 5070?
9070xt is a 5070ti competitor
Ooo I seee. Thanks for all the help and info
Anytime.
this 1080P no no no this is a Mid range 1440P Build
which is goated

that's the cheapest motherbored that is white in taiwan other thenn ummmm Asrock lmao
well
i have a 7700
if you have a 7700, asrock is aight
but if you want 9800x3d in the future, yeeeeah
that's a concern
MSRP was shit tho
$50 more and you get a 9070 that is superior in virtually every way
yeah i agree
499 is a better deal
i would've definitely gave em a 9070 if it wasn't for a 5070 going for 499
100 difference is easier to decide
9070 is $550 tho... it's a $50 difference for a wildly more capable card
not dunking you, 5070 is plenty fast. but i can't think of any reason you'd want a $500 5070 over a $550 9070
i mean... there is always a return window 👀
fire
I found a used pc for 290€ with a description that's actually peak 🤣 "

Idk if i should buy
It's just meanwhile i upgrade it by the way
Link just in case https://www.leboncoin.fr/ad/ordinateurs/3072030230
Found that for cheaper but it seems to have a 1050 2gb instead https://www.leboncoin.fr/ad/ordinateurs/3070055191
Chatgpt aah description
Fr that's why it's laughable
Lmao
Maybe this one? https://www.leboncoin.fr/ad/ordinateurs/3071478745
Cheesus
This one's 120€
@fickle bolt check it out will ya?
Looks to be abt worth
Should get?
If u want a 120 euro pc, sure
I'll upgrade it anyways at a point
Step 1 get 16 gigs instead of 8
Can that thing even support 16g
Idk i can just swap mobo
Yea
Anyone know good quality speakers? Budget around 500
just get headphones
You might be able to get more specific help in #peripherals-and-displays
All I know are some studio monitors
I used to know more but since I never got any speakers the knowledge has left
I'm more of a headphones/iem guy sadly
I want to get the truthear hexa or pure
I ran Kali LP-6 v2 monitors with a motu m2 driving them and it was a lovely setup for right around 500usd not including stands and cables
hmm maybe scratch that, apparently they are more expensive now (like 500usd for just the pair of monitors). There were a lot of people talking about the iLoud monitors. I think it was the iLoud Micro Monitors? their naming scheme is a little stupid
Does someone mind looking at my first build? https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/bJN6GJ
How much is a 7500f on aliexpress for you?
268 cad
Ill let someone better with CAD do a help
Kind of a lot honestly
Actually that is a lot
I understand the markets are different, but that converted to usd is more than a 7600x in usa
It’s actually as much as a 9600x
Wait lol 268 is the price on pcpp
oh mb, in ali express its 192.32 cad
yeah, is 7600 not good?
They are basically the same in games
This is the same price but has ram with tighter timings and the psu has some more headroom
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/24rmXR
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7500F, Radeon RX 9060 XT, Montech XR ATX Mid Tower
And a cooler
thank you for the recommendation. Is this build still good? I'm planning on upgrading everything in the future but for now its just for casual gaming. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/ghJGgn I would like to order things locally or from amazon thats why. @snow dragon
refusing Newegg in neweggs own server
Oh I’m good with new egg, just don’t want Ali express and stuff
oh ok lol
I have everything I need for my build except psu, can I build now or do I need to wait for psu
you can build everything without it but pc wont turn on
itll be giant paperweight until psu is installed
Plus you will miss the chance to also make sure that all of your parts work
The first boot is the most important one
em dash spotted
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hhftv4 anything else to change with this
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Radeon RX 9070 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G370A ATX Mid Tower
ill have a look
why r u using asrock board
It’s fine
how could you...
They don’t have issues on 7000 series
unfortuanate
uhhhh
on the back maybe
Looks like one maybe here
😅
Found it I took of the left plate and missed the screw holes
oh
O ok thanks
quick Google search bro https://www.techpowerup.com/review/asus-prime-ap201/5.html
np
They could have set like 1 paper and not just no instructions
Maybe I should have gotten another case
O wait I misread it..
(3) 2.5 or (1) 3.5
🤦♂️ people wonder why I ask for help
I'll have to return it and find a case that can hold 2 3.5 because pc parts picker might have been wrong or I mis read it
Nevermind
Found it 💀
dang
Ur good bro we only make fun of people unwilling to accept help
I usally ask then if nothing I'll google it because some people know right away. Not everyone knows everything but I feel like I'm skipping generation with hdd going from support structure to now on the base of the case
can anyone here help with i9-14900kf issues? I already bios updated each time it released since I got it, but I have issues with BSOD for kernel level anticheats 🥺
games like marvel rivals, valorant, and bf6 crash pc or just dont start constantly
Which software do you run in the background?
Kernel anti-cheats hate programs that inject things
Like OSDs
Or even peripheral control software
I don't run anything, nothing on startup whatsoever
the only thing would be wallpaper engine
i dont have msi afterburner either
I see, hm
just removed the softwrae for my mouse that stops it from killing itself and rivals launched finally ✌️ 😢
More overspending than buying a 5080
#build-pics message
dude
the MONITOR MOUNT IS 400$
that whole build is like far too much
probably got a strix 5090 too
yes...
even thats like pretty expensive
i think i made the system and it was WAYYY too much without a gpu
It was a double
With the gas spring things?
is anyone able to recccomend me a good pc for $800-$900
Bro for the price of everything, he could've been smarter and purchase stuff that actually works, PLUS a 3D printer so he can print that overly expensive headphone stand
he couldve gotten like a used car if he didnt overspend on stupid stuff
The same type of energy as "my 5090 is outdated," stating that next year
like he posts other ppls stuff right
and this is all a joke?
Nah he actually builds a whole new PC every year and only goes with overly expensive items like Corsair and Asus
Are you in the US
His justification is that he makes fat bread (he actually has a lot of money leftover from just before Bitcoin took off, according to him)
indeed
and are you comfortable with building it yourself
ya I am
does this include a monitor
nope
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qcCRrM i had this saved from yesterday so here
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Radeon RX 9060 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G370A ATX Mid Tower
thanks
i agree with that build, solid
I thought ram was good nowadays?

Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, HYTE Y70 Touch Infinite ATX Mid Tower
I’m assuming there’s build tutorials I could follow?
like on yt
yeah, us

but yes there’s plenty on YouTube
alright cool
It may be better to do both, as your build will not be the same as the ones on yet
oh alright now just a question would there be any decent pre built options?
there can be some decent ones
but building will always be better
better parts better looks better performance
i tried a " pure peformance"
build
but i kinda suck at these
so lmao
is 5070ti w/ ryzen 7 9800x3d a good build?
Probably overspending on it
I’d go with 9070xt personally instead
at current prices i like 5070 ti a lot as an option
you can get them for like $700 flat now
it is?
5070 ti's are 750 and 9070 xt's are 670
That’s what I’ve seen
If nvidia scalps their partners and they are still at msrp, there is no excuse for the 9070 xt to not be at msrp
Amd really should allocate more of their wafers towards rdna 4 to drop the price just a little bit
I think spending the extra 80 on a system that is already gonna cost a lot is worth it
Exactly
That is exactly why the 5070TI is better value
yeah $80 is worth it for better RT or upscaling, also it's more like $700-620 ish from what i've seen
Idk I asked earlier and got aired
Aired?
Internet slang for getting ignored
I think it came from when people on snapchat would see your message and not respond
to blank you
He left cuz he said it was time to move on
Rip boeing
should make a memorial somewhere here
can i inherit his techie
not bad
should i pay 60 dollars for the ti
10GB is pretty meh, but 12GB is too. better i suppose, but idk. it's not a huge improvement
which 9070xt is worth it?
USA? the 670 ones
theres a few sub $700, asus prime, asrock steel legend, powercolor reaper,
powercolor for black build, asrock for white build
is the taichi worth the extra $50?
no, it uses 12vhpr
i mean if you wanna risk it go ahead
how much is that
$760
noi\
ill go with the steel legend, and Ill also be trading in my gpu
Xfx mercury is peak
Esthetically
Pricewise, at least for the 9060XT it's also peak
the open box $530 gigabyte 9070 non XT on newegg rn
not worth the non xt comg fram a 6900
xt
realistically neither is the XT then, it's a 12% difference
Is it still recommended to do 2x24 GB sticks of memory for best bang for buck and overall performance?
Also, does that recommendation stick when it comes to trying to self-host AI?
2x whatever capacity gets you to your preferred capacity. you want 2 sticks for dual channel, but ideally not four because of stability things
depends on the models you're hosting and how much you expect to overflow into dram if that's a consideration
ideally you'd have a GPU that can run it in vram, but if you're running on an NPU or smth, lots of dram can be nice
thanks. trying to revive a build I was working on in January and i've shifted my needs from just gaming to AI tinkering...
non xt to xt or 6900xt to 9070xt
?
im also trying to upgrade since it carshing a lot on me, windows reisntalls and ddu doesnt fix it
the thermal pasting is also going out
hotspot gets pretty warm 110c
core temp stays around 75c-85c
also newer ig 🤷♂️
9070 to 9070 xt
estimated gpu trade in is $360 but idk if its current state will achieve that price
any red flags with this?

Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, GeForce RTX 5080, Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower
5080 cooler board and ram are all crazy overpriced
i assume you're paying extra for the white 5080? even still, 5070 ti (10% slower, same vram and all that) is $400 cheaper
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/H9JBD3/gigabyte-eagle-oc-ice-sff-geforce-rtx-5070-ti-16-gb-video-card-gv-n507teagleoc-ice-16gd
there is also a 'like new' one on amazon for $750, which bc of how gigabyte operates it somewhat likely to be a brand new return. and even if it's not you still get warranty and all that so it kinda doesn't matter
cheaper board, i assume you want a full ATX for aesthetics, but you can save a fair bit if you go mATX. i respect the aesthetic decision tho (you can also get pretty excellent used AM5 boards for like $80 on ebay, including ATX options if you don't mind used options)
cheaper white RGB ram (again I'm assuming you want white dimms, you can save more with a diff colour)
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/YVfxFT/gskill-trident-z5-neo-rgb-48-gb-2-x-24-gb-ddr5-6400-cl32-memory-f5-6400j3239f24gx2-tz5nrw
better cooler for way less, and it's white so it matches the colour scheme a bit better
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/xMLFf7/thermalright-peerless-assassin-120-se-white-argb-6617-cfm-cpu-cooler-pa120-se-white-argb
I was mostly looking for an entry level AI + gaming card. I am looking to do more professional level AI work than hobby, so I believe this makes the 80 stand out more than the 70 Ti (this makes me rethink what I'm deciding on a bit)
I was probably shelling out a bit more for a white card, but it really doesn't matter as much since I plan to not see it (mesh over tempered glass).
it should be fairly consistent scaling with gaming/AI stuff since 5070 ti keeps the same cache and memory setup (barring slightly faster GDDR7 stock on the 5080). it's pretty much just a modest shader reduction. my honest recommendation would be to pocket the $400 because unless for whatever reason AI stuff benefits a TOOOON from 7% faster memory and a couple extra shaders... you probably won't even notice the difference
I installed a low param AI on my 1080 Ti last weekend and it ran smoothly, but took all my resources to run.
recent reading says memory is king for AI, but I need to learn more about the cuda cores because that's the next most referenced topic... I do intend to do complex video generation.
I see the 7% performance difference for the $$$$$ so you might have me sold. just doing some extra research now.
capacity mostly, bandwidth is important too but it's a minimal difference on 5070 ti to 5080. and capacity is the same
the basic idea is you want enough memory capacity to fit the model you're running, and then all of the cache and shaders and stuff determine how fast the model runs
ie capacity = what you can run
overall performance = how fast you can run it
Strix Halo is an APU that can use like 256GB of comparatively REALLY slow LPDDR5X memory (like 1/3 the bandwidth a 5080), and it's a much much smaller GPU with fewer shaders. but because it has so much raw memory, you can run crazy complex models on it. just much slower than if a 5080 or something could fit that model for instance

Would this be worth $400?
Trying to build out my PC using the AMD Ryzen 9 7950x.
I’m a music producer, create content, and do lots of work with AI custom API integrations for my businesses. I’m looking to build something that is not going to overboard but still maximizing my multitasking performance capabilities. Hoping you guys can be of some assistance here.
yes that is extremely good
Bet
if its only these then yes, if its a whole pc with that stuff then 10000%
My mother board doesn’t come with argb what should I do?
W board
W speed
buy the 5080 fe
its in stock

(just wait for the stock to load)
wish there was a 5070ti fe
this might sound dumb but could these new extension cables contribute to my high gpu temp?
it just feels weird that after I installed these, my hotspot temp jumped a lot
and I don’t think thermal paste wears off from day to night
did you also switch your card from a horizontal mount to a vertical one?
nvm that looks horizontal i'm just blind
trying to buy my cpu and its offering me a free liquid cooler. I know nothing about liquid cooling and usually just get noctua coolers because I like them... what's the general thoughts on this?
MSI MAG 360mm Liquid Cooling AIO
okayish 360mm. but it's still a 360mm, so even a pretty meh one is still rather solid
no
thats a great deal
noctuas a bit overrated as people see them as premium and the quietest fan
but unless you literally make everything noctua
there will be fan noise
a 360mm aio is a very nice bundle
A 1300 build for me

which is around 450]
There’s no cpu in it
the hard drive looks sketch, that ram is bad
alr have the CPU
Oh
oh yeah wrong ram
You shouldn’t get Corsair ram trash
everything else looks fine
what SSDS do you reccomend then
The other one in your list
that’s a great price for 2tb at Gen 4
just get a second one
They’re both gen 4 so it’ll be fast

I think i cooked
Do I need a 4 pin atx power here 🤔
Instructions not included
Also do I need a m.2 or ssd as a boot up for the nas
might as well try putting a 4pin cpu connector there
half of an 8pin cpu connector
i did find the 4+4 pin later, much later i looked at all the cables and it dropped where i couldn't see it so i was very puzzled why they didn't include one
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QFZwxg what do you guys think of my pc
Could've saved a bit on the ram, psu looks overkill a bit, but other than that not bad
ok thanks
Looks like the board I got only comes with cpu fan
So I have a suggestion the board only comes with cpu fan that's a PWM or 3-pin fan
Should I get a splitter for that or just psu splitter to plug in other fans? Maybe 1 extra back fan or 2?
Buy the 5080 fe to show off

what is a meguuuu

couldve saved a lot everywhere basically
and that aio SUCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS for 240mm
I want the p12 max freezer to come back because those pros are so loud
at your budget you'd probably be far better off shopping used for a lot of the core components
Ik
then do that
Can't find good shit for cheap
sorry few things for
can just 1 cpu fan only do fine? or do i need a molex fan or usb 4 pin splitter? off the main cpu fan since there is only 1 fan header on the baord?
which Nas os do people recommend
i was thinking just going this route https://www.newegg.com/pny-500gb-cs2241/p/N82E16820177156 and true nass scale but that recommends 16gb ram and that's basically all i have on that motherboard
Hey all, I’m doing a build for a friend. I’m not too knowledgeable, so I was hoping to hear if I did well here or if I should swap. Budget is around $1k which is what I expect these prices to drop towards in December/new year when they want to buy. Please give tips
Highly suggest not using just Amazon if you can
Why?
Amazon tends to have very high prices for stuff
I understand
I can build you a list
Do you need a monitor too?
@smoky dew
For their pc*
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, Radeon RX 9060 XT, Montech XR ATX Mid Tower
I like how you didn’t point out the am4 cpu for an am5 board and ddr5 ram
for one you have an am4 cpu and an am5 motherboard which will NOT work together
good thing you came to the right place
Hope your cat gets better, I’d donate if I could
How loud are they? I plan to daily those.
I run my current fans at max rpm 24/7.
What you got rn
Combination of:
- P12 ARGB
- Fractal Dynamic 180mm
- Deepcool FC120 (AIO version which does about 100rpm higher than the standard).
I don’t know how the deepcool sounds but I would guess the pros are gonna be louder
At the same time though the pros do move a lot of air through rads
Expect it to sound like a server though

Can't be worse than a air conditioner at full blast?
You can actually hear the humming pick up while the rpm is increasing when the camera is at the monitor lol

#arcticp12pro #arcticp12max #arcticp12maxrev2 #arctic #arcticfans #noctua #corsair #bequiet #nzxt #pcfans #cooling #casefan #cpucooler #radiatorfan #fancomparison #noisetest #airflow #staticpressure #quietfans #hpcooling #silentpc #hardwareanalysis
Curious how the Arctic P12 Pro compares to the P12 Max Rev 2 for noise and performance? In this ...
For me though it was louder, probably because it was on the rad
Or my room is really quiet so i pick it up easier
Honestly not that much louder.
The profile is more noticable but the actual noise seems not that far off.
Yeah it’s not a nice profile
But it wins in static pressure
Moves less air than p12 max but has much better static pressure
My plan is to run P12 Pro fans in Push/Pull on my LT720 and have two P12 Pro fans in front of the motherboard/ram blowing directly onto it and as a result also feeding the AIO.
the pro has more static than the max?
For blowing air the max would be better because the max moves more air
Yeah that’s why they are using them on the liquid freezer now
Gotcha
@snow dragon the plan is to reuse brackets meant for the back in the front like so to mount a 120mm fan on each half to make the vrms and ram nice and chilly.
Arctic says up to 6.3mm/h2o
I just realized I can fit 4 120mm fans up front doing that.
haha i realized that afterward but thank you
he has returned
would you still like help making a pc part list?
yes please
ideally im trying to drop the price marginally
i think i got too excited and ended up with like 1400 usd
when the "budget" is 800-1k
no but thank you

ATX case for matx
Very respectable parts list.
I appreciate the HDV board and Hynix A-Die.
use the ram kit Titan picked. cheaper and better. Yes the XMP is worse, but the die it has can easily do 6400cl26 with about 10m of work.
That is the ram he used
He picked out a different kit
you grabbed a silicon power kit, he's using a Klevv guarenteed A-die kit.
Not in the list I replied to
Oh I am looking at his revised list.
At the $860 mark.
ram aside, both lists are solid.
Thank you goats @fallen sphinx @gentle pollen @frigid edge
no problem bro
Yeah I don’t think she’ll mind anyway, I care more for performance lol than matching colors/rgb
Can anyone make a Amazon and Newegg pc for like 850$ that will be able to run almost 24/7 for gaming Specifically Roblox rocket league and Fortnite
I like ABS computers b/c they list out all the parts for the computers.
Core 5 Processor 120
It’s their 120th processor

Congrats Intel
For 800 you’re better off buying used
ddr4 and a 5060 on that cpu is pretty meh, you can get an am5 system for that price if you build it yourself
You can usually get better deals if you build it yourself. After working in product support, I now have to acknowledge that prebuilts are also good value for the consumer
lol
Yeah prebhilts typically cost about 20% more than building it yourself. So it's iffy.
this is absolutely true
it's always cheaper, but i'll say for some customers, it's absolutely worth it
Give me a few, I am going to make you a good parts list.
Depends how much you value your time I guess. If people here make you a parts list and you build following a YouTube tutorial, it's probably 6 hours max to setup
our hero
Is your friend willing to spend about 15-30m to manually do a quick and dirty tune in the RAM? If so I can get him some that overclocks to the moon easily and saves him a lot of money.
I don’t think I even know how to properly over lock
It’s basically just so he can macro Roblox
And play with a little better graphics than his Xbox
Gotcha. Well I found the same die on a slightly more expensive model
So it all works out
@versed current how much storage does he need?
Because the SSD and PSU will eat into the GPU budget
Am I able to go to $900? @versed current
That's a decent difference.
$50 to $80.
Going from 500GB to 1TB
The motherboard has two nvme slots so he can get a second drive and put it in very easily once he has more money to spare.
I'd really reccomend just getting the TB to start. These days you'll burn through 500gb real fast
That brings $900 to $930.
Games are becoming normal 40gb to 50gb but AAA can go past 100gb
The friend is just using it for Fortnite and Roblox with Roblox being the main use.
Ok so not that terrible
Yeh ram prices are getting real rough huh
@versed current this is my personal choice $906. It features a near all white system with:
-
R5-8500G CPU
-
2 dimm ASRock HDV MOTHERBOARD (Great RAM OC)
-
2x16GB of 6000mhz cl28 RAM with (Hynix A dies, OC king, have fun with your 10,000mhz tune if you have the patience)
-
Radeon 7600 GPU
-
500GB G50 SSD
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 8500G, Radeon RX 7600, Montech X5M MicroATX Mini Tower
❌
8500G has half the cache of a 7500F or 7600
Can upgrade to a 7600 though that cache doesn't make a large difference if the RAM is tuned.
Uhhh
Can do black and white mix. Total cost I wouldn't expect it to drop
Proof? Pretty sure that cache will HURT even with good ram
The board is matx, case is ATX.
That would look funny?
Not really.
Tbh a micro atx case and just a normal fan rgb cooler
In black
Should be around 800?
In January when I built mine I had a 7600 non xt a 5600x an 32gb 3600 or something and a normal air cooler
It was like 850 with tax
And a tb
But a lot of parts are liek 30% more
@weary galleon so the 7600/7600x is an additional $20.
Maybe do a am4?
Like when I do my other friends pc he had am5 and way better parts but my pc runs Roblox and mien raft better than his
But he obviously does AAA games better
Hmm I can take another look at AM4, last I checked it costs pretty much the same as a starting AM5 setup.
rely?
Needs to wait till I have time later though.
Yea don’t rush
I will ping you with a respecced list kater
@versed current so I did take a look. Cheapest AM5 CPU is the 8500G which has respectable performance at $160 and for AM4 the best CPU within that price range is a 5600XT at $140.
Motherboards will cost about the same at $100 or more. Might be able to save $30 on RAM.
Does your friend need wifi on the board?
Yeah board is the same price.
$99 and $99
@versed current so the same parts I chose but in black for the cooler and board will cost $15 more than white
Could save $2 on a black kit of worse ram
This is obviously with a 4090 but yeah the 8600G is a good bit slower than the 7600
oh 8500G isn't even on there
I think the cache is the same between them though
Yea
Well
Wait
Just yea
how future proof is a 9xxx-x3d cpu?
9800x3d? Very
9950x3d? Extremely
9900x3d? It’s fine but not worth the price at all
