The monitor came with the pc when my brother bought it for me, the speakers I got for free, along with the keyboard and mouse as gifts for my birthday 2 an 1 year ago respectfully, i used to have a onn mousepad but it got lost during the move so I compremised and i'm using a old laptop case which i got for free from my best friend when I still lived in arizona

The only thing out of place are the headphones lol
the only things that actually costed money were the cpu and gpu and ram in the build, also the headphones i bought for me last christmas
oh
along with every single borderlands game
wtf
so like
how much did the setup cost in total
$500-900 for the WHOLE setup?
ballpark estimate
probably really inaccurate
the cpu was i think 170 when it was on sale, the gpu was 259 I think, and the ram I got was 60 dollars at the time
eh
either 60 dollars or 42
honestly it's not bad
i mean my brother got scammed bad but my mom got scammed worse
that probably costs more than my setup now
first pc was absolutely a scam even at the time
absolutely
my mom paid 2000 for it all
no 2017
eh
I give it $600
still tho
2000 could've gotten you what
a 5700XT
and a 3700x
wait hold up
what's the first pc
it came with a pentium e5200, a gts 250 galax 512mb, 4 gbs of ddr2, and windows 7, but the case was a modified Dell optiplex case with custom cooling and lighting and had a 1tb HDD, also came with a monitor, a keyboard, mouse, and free drm-less games.
yep
That's LGA 775 innit?
mhm
that's worth uhh
$50
no
$20
ehhhhhhhhhhh
$15?
well if it was a core 2 duo it'd be $15?
I'll be generous and say $20
my mom didn't know anything about computers and she met this beautiful woman who built custom pcs for people and she did my mom dirty by building the pc with that budget
it didn't even have wifi so we had to goto wal-mart to get an wifi adapter
but i was an aspiring teen at the time and I thought it was the best thing ever for a bit, it's how I learned about fallout : ) and hey, I played a lot of need for speed undercover on it and even some tf2 for a bit
I still play tf2
tbh that's kinda similar to what I had when I started out really
Core 2 Quad Q9400, 6GB of RAM, HD7850 in 2018
well
in terms of platform
gpu and cpu is uh
cpu's slower than console
GPU's on par
hardware from that time period was surprisingly capable
...to be fair I had a quad
and a 7850 (around GT 1030 performance)
the pc gotten damaged unfortunately due to my old desk colapsing and breaking the Hard drive so i had to upgrade it to windows 10 and performance just died, I wanted to get around to getting a version of linux onto it but never got around it, when I eventually was being kicked out due to issues, I gave the pc to a neighbor who needed a pc and was willing to fix it up and repair it to working order, I talked to him last month before I moved on ( 2 days before the 4th of july) and he said he got it running again.
at least someone got some use out of the pc
not even linux would fix that
I'd argue it'd be even worse
Since you won't be able to run DXVK
at least for gaming
for regular use yes
it'd be leagues better
he does his emails and general browsing on it as far as he told me, I was on a time crunch I had to get home and get dinner started
ok linux is better here then
there's a point with old hardware
at least for gaming specifically
where linux can't even save it
I was gonna turn it into a old media center
ehhhh
The outdated codecs... if even had any
if the northbridge had integrated graphics, probably won't have any modern codec support
I doubt the gpu is much better
true, you're right : )
Back then I even had an upgrade path for it too
where it's just e-waste
yeah don't
I made the mistake of spending too much money on my LGA 775 machine
could've bought a i5-3570 tbh
or a xeon
when I was a teen I was gonna get a gtx 750 ti and upgrade the CPU to the max it could run and get an ssd, motherboard
not mobo
yea LGA 775 isn't really
idk whyy i typed that there
salvagable
yeahhh
kinda greatful for what we have for value now
ehhhhhhh
I'm not
last year yeah
this year has been an absolute nightmare for pc building
trust me when I say
the hardware prices are EXTREMELY inflated
yeah
last year $1300 got you a 7900XT
no you're way right, prices are just donkey'
or wast that XTX
used market
well
that's a different story
I wouldn't go below coffee lake so
you could build something decent for $500
with say an optiplex with an i5-8500 and a used gpu
I draw the bar at coffee lake because that's the cheapest 6c/6t
quad core just doesn't fly these days
can i ask for laptop recommendation here?
i was gonna say that yeah
with rapidly climbing hardware requirements
this I agree with
used pcs are getting a LOT hard to get away with
for instance
my old Q9400 and HD7850 build
that had decades old hardware
HD7850 is a lot newer but regardless
when I saw oblivion remaster I knew that there was a big change coming for AAA games
it was still console level in 2018
but after 2020 that wouldn't fly
that's why I've made it my policy to not recommend quad cores for gaming pcs anymore
They just don't fare well
and age even worse
skylake would've been decent in 2019
couple years down the line in 2022
no so much
in just a span of a 3 years it's been practically deemed obselete
idk if it's a lack of optimization on their parts
It ABSOLUTELY is
ah
A lot of game studios take advantage of tech like DLSS and FG/MFG
and instead of using that to help performance
they use that as a shortcut
and just not bother to optimize
which also wiped a lot of older gpus off the budget market
they wanna save money in the end because they wanna priority cost to gain, lowest cost for highest gains, it's depressing
because the older gpus don't have DLSS and the games aren't optimized enough to run of them
it sucks
so much slop is coming out too
it's just saddening
at least we have older games : )
The newer generation probably don't care either
They haven't experienced what it's nice to have actually optimized games
and pcs that last a decade (Kinda Intel & AMD's fault but still)
i remember back even in 2016, games were still like optimized and doing really good, nowadays it's just not even the same
so much changing in 9 years
I know from personal experience on the dumpster laptop
when I moved to my apartment at the end of high school, previous people who lived in my apartment i lived in threw out their old laptop and I took it and fixed it up
i5-6200u with intergrated graphics only, it had only 2gbs of ram in it and a 512 gb hard drive, so I had to upgrade the ram to 16 gbs of ddr3lp
but I used it over my desktop when it broke and it ran borderlands 2, fallout new vegas, final fantasy X, Tf2, and even walked hearts of iron 4 and fallout 4 and beam ng.drive
yeah
I only play weak countries though
Like Honduras
modded?
yeah vanilla trees are 💀
haven't played hoi in a while tho
recent updates took away too much larp potential for my taste
I stick to EU4/VIC 2 these days
I play it all the time : )
lately it's been hoi4 or slay the spire downfall for me
I did play through a bit of cyberpunk and started borderlands 3 in preperation for borderlands 4
as for my birthday I pre-ordered borderlands 4
ooo
I mostly play older games because the newer AAA titles aren't that interesting
I'm just waiting for expedition 33 to go on sale
I got the super deluxe edition, wanted to have the limited edition stuff.
it's 129 dollars i won't be getting back
but i asked the borderlands 4 team if my pc will run and they said it will
though hoping it will run but its saying it wants 8 cores
32 gbs of ram is crazy though
maybe at medium settings? low settings?
you could try using fsr
I think proton has an option for that?
not sure
haven't really used fsr on proton
yeah you can set it in the launch options if you use Proton-GE
I think thats a setting i'll have to set in compatibility
because you can set compatibility stuff in it's own thing
not just launch options
lemme look
yeah you'll need to install it
bazzite is based on fedora right?
eh you'll have to do it the old fashion way i reckon
I have an AUR package that updates it for me
eh
doesn't matter
it's all the same really
just a different DE
mk
oh wtf
there's a plugin manager now
ehh?
This is what I used to do
You'll have to do that manually for every update so
I'd probably use the plugin manager method to install it
wait so could I just install the plugin manager
it would seem so
errr
not sure if any of those is on fedora
oh wait
there's a binary
what's with debian based distros and using weird package managers
not sure if brew or zypper is on fedora
ok just compile it from source at this point
I believe the package manager is dnf for fedora
ok
It is a bit annoying they just put "linux" instead of the distribution
Oh ok
Proton-GE is a must have for a gaming system imo
👍
what would be your use case? gaming? school?
gaming mostly, portability is an afterthought
legion 5i is good, very good actually
but there's a better deal for a 5070ti laptop
I don't know the difference between 5i and 7i, and the 5i Pro vs 7i Pro
lemme check if it's still active
the pro legions are thicker and heavier as they accommodate more cooling
I also looked at Zephyrus G16 with The RTX 5070 ti, but it doesn't have as good as cooling as legion
and are usually 16"
yeah I'm looking for 16"
hey i'm gonna eat, i'll see about doing this tomorrow, right now I wanna unwind and chill out because it's midnight here and I wanna get to bed soon-ish
7i pro in my opinion is not worth the extra cash
unless you value all metal chassis
which deal u talking about I might wanna check it out
it's at best buy for strix g16 with 5070ti
You can just download proton plus and get ge proton
nobara has that installed already
$1549 brand new
with some upgrades it'll be perfect
in terms of price/perf ratio
why is it significantly cheaper than the legion 5i?
hmm
well looks like I'll consider between that or the legion 5i, thank you for ur time it really helped me :)
ur welcome
avoid msi vector 16 btw, the us market version sucks
trash screen
but if it were using the better screen it'd suck anyway
it's hella loud under load, and a pain to open up to do upgrades
nice
What would yall say is better for the price? (Non US market)
Hellhound 9060 xt 16gb or pulse 7700xt 12gb for around 2000 NIS
Asus dual 5070 or palit triple fan 5060 ti oc 16gb for around 3000 NIS
Or tuf 7800xt for around 2800
whats the chepaest 9060xt 16gb
reaper for 1934, pulse for 1930
how much is 70 of your currency is usd
20 usd
get whichever you think looks better between those 2
doesnt reaper cool pretty bad cus small 2 fan
either pulse or hellhound ig
I need to get a wifi adapter for my pc, any recommendations?
Hello everyone, I want to build a simple rig for my fiance. Her current pc is really old and I'd like to give it a little upgrade. She doesn't game often at all but maybe she will if her pc was a little better. Some recommendations for cheap parts would be great as we don't have too much extra spending money at the moment.
Country: America
Budget: around 600 I guess, but would like to keep it as low as possible while getting best bang for buck. Could potentially go over if needed as I might wait a little while to fully build it. I have a spare 5800x so will just use that. I also have a 1050 ti lp card that can be used as a place holder if need be.
Use: gaming and some college schoolwork
Resolution: 1080p
Aesthetic: a pink case would be nice.
Condition: can be used by should be in very good condition.
Option 1 https://a.co/d/dLJgwZC and option 2 https://a.co/d/j9SS06C

Something like this could be a start, $670 is over budget but the 1050ti could be used temporarily before getting a better GPU
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hkFWRV
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, Radeon RX 9060 XT, Apevia Destiny Flow ATX Mid Tower
And you can pull the price down with any good used deals
Just wanna make sure, would the GPU be overkill for the cpu and won't bottleneck too much?
..?
What are you going to use it for, specific application wise?
Oh I think j have spare ram too let me see if I can find it
Games and general school programs
It should be a fine pair for 1080p

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/vVVD4D/patriot-viper-steel-16-gb-2-x-8-gb-ddr4-4400-cl19-memory-pvs416g440c9k
uh probably just take the top kit and use it as is
I thought so
Could you recommend a semi modular power supply? Unless the fully modular is cheaper
hello lads
Just easier for me having the required cables already connected
It's basically the same price lol
Both are alright, similar to other models in the same price segment
also is there a build quality difference between the powercolor reaper and hellhound models of the 9060xt?
same company, same build quality, difference is just cooler
ah alr
will this setup with the lian li a3 work? or should i have a back fan as intake as well or something
intake?
No the back fan should be exhaust
I assume that's what you meant judging by the picture
Wouldn't be a bad idea to have the top aio as intake as well
Since it'll be pulling in cool air from the exterior
Instead of pushing out the hot air through the radiator
Aio is exhaust bruh it says out
3 in 3 out should be good
@stoic island while you're here, what do you generally use to stress test temperatures?
OCCT?
I'm fixing up someone's pc with really weird temps
I suspect it's an airflow thing because the front panel is literally blocked and the AIO is front mounted
It's also an i9 11900k so
Does NOT help at all that there's no airflow
Does the 3 fan gpu not block airflow tho
Isnt top bad for intake
Depends
Sorry misread im eepy
"eepy"?
On?
Sleepy
Wouldn’t it be better for the air to be redirected to the aio to cool the cpu or something
You also want to pull the hot air in the system out
There's no front intake correct?
Yea
P95 smallffts and furry donut
Yeah the rear is better as exhaust imo
OCCT power works decently well too but those two are more effective ime
What's your opinion of having one exhaust fan
And having the top AIO be intake
wont the large hellhound card affect airflow tho
Positive pressure is fine but top intake can be wacky
or will alot of air still be going above it
I don't see how it would pose a problem
The bottom three should definitely still be intake
yea
Personally I'd still do 3 in 3 out but that's in the context of not too dusty environment
Yeah that seems like the most optimal condition
Thinking of putting it on my desk so less dust than if it were on the floor right
The GPU will affect airflow a bit for the intake, that's why I think it'll end up being more like negative pressure, which is fine if it's not too dusty
I think it's fine tbh
The most affected parts are probably going to be the motherboard vrms
Even then it's probably fine
But air will still go through the 1 fan that’s not blocked by the back panel and between the gpu and side panel right?
If the old p300a worked fine stock with a single exhaust fan and 0 intake fans, it's not going to be that bad here
Technically the gpu doesn't block airflow completely
Air can still flow around it
And through it
With clear unobstructed exhaust fans going, it's going to be pulling air from somewhere, even if all of your intake fans are blocked, it'll find ways to get air through other areas
Classic example is unused pcie slot covers
Or any mesh or perforated side panels that don't have fans attached
Would a 360mm aio also work for the 3 in 3 out system or would it be better to have a 240 with a rear fan
Both work
It doesn't need to be 1:1 intake:exhaust, it's just nice to work with when it is
Also where does the air taken by the gpu go?
is it like how i did in the pic or something
Recirculated, out through case fan exhaust, or out through the pcie slot cover out of the case
Also depends on specific card design if it's flow through or if it flows out the side of the card
So how i drew it?
that would be most 2 or 1 fan gpus that have a back plate with no exhaust slot?
Basically just 1 fan cards
And if it were a 2 fan card like the pulse, more air would reach the aio right?
It would do the normal out the side of the card back through the case
With part of the air going out the back of the case
I still think the rear as an exhaust would be a better idea
If I'm reading this correctly
You're going to be pulling a lot more of the hot air from the gpu out
Instead of allowing more it to go through the AIO
Alr
does a push pull config mean that the aio has fans on each side?
like on a 240mm aio there are 4 fans
Yea
a push pull setup has a benefit- but said benefit is negligible
you only get 1-2c lower cpu temp for all the hassle and cost you have to go through with the extra fans
I believe that's with counting the overhang on the pcie bracket, usually not counted for card length, but counted for item length
hello can anyone recommend trading out my I9 14900kf for something else?
recommend any good AMD products for*
I have a 4070 super and z790-c
No
Just keep the cpu really
Not worth a whole platform swap
You're better off spending money on your gpu
Still mediocre performance gains imo but at least you get more
Yeah def gpu upgrade instead
You must understand that the leads the 7800 and 9800x3d have over it are with much more powerful cards
And they test at 1080p with those cards
You gonna play 1080p with a 4090?

Csgo comp player moment

2 games im tryna play i cannot because of it 💔
First off
how
If that really is the case
going to ryzen isn't going to fix it
if a 14900k isn't comfortable running a game
neither would ryzen
nah its that apparently 8th+ gen had some weird bug or whatever
and even with the fix in bios latest version it still causes things like vanguard and eaac to cause bluescreen
so i've been either trying to undervolt it or do whatever else I canto fix :3
Uh if you're talking about 13th/14th there has been another fix about a month ago beyond 0x12b
Once you're on updated firmware, it's unlikely that you're crashing because of the CPU
So I just moved into a new apartment. New gig wifi with spectrum. Equipment provided by them. Im connected via ethernet.
Im having packet loss problems in my games now. Should I try getting one of those gaming routers? Do you think that would fix the problem?
the default router can be crap- but ethernet packet losses sounds like an isp issue
Says that I'm on latest for my mobo (z790-c) and that the microcode upd is 0x12F
reset cmos as wel just to be double sure, dont know if tha does anything tho :P
but if it's not that then I really don't know what it could be, I even fully reinstalled my gpu drivers
hey guys i want to replace the thermal paste and pad for my MSI GeForce RTX 3070 Ventus 2X OC, but i heard that you need specific mm measurements for it
There weren't any big reviewers that did a teardown of that card so going to have to trust random people, this guy measured them to be a bit under 2.5mm. Best case is to tear it apart yourself first to find the dimensions and then buying off of that though
https://youtu.be/K2co3qSl61A
In this video I will be changing the thermal pads on one of my 3070 non lhr cards. The card is MSI Ventus 2x. I got a small decrease in core temperature, but I was able to push my memory clock higher.

I love the way the thumbnail makes it look like a big square single fan
just more condensed since these things have a bit of width on the side
thx wanted to replace them cuz when i was moving i saw that the pads were super squished and starting to rip on the side
Hi, plz confirm if the following RAM is compatible with the motherboard
https://www.newegg.com/corsair-vengeance-64gb-ddr5-5600-cas-latency-cl40-desktop-memory-black/p/N82E16820236848
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813183819
No, you need ddr5 rdimms (registered dimms), not udimms for that motherboard, they are physically different in where it is keyed and therefore physically incompatible
rdimm prices are way higher
Equivalent corsair rdimm kit:
https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/memory/cma64gx5m4b5600c40/ws-ddr5-ecc-rdimm-64gb-4-x-16gb-ddr5-dram-5600mt-s-cl40-memory-kit-cma64gx5m4b5600c40
Is it true that if the power flickers or goes out during a bios update that the board is bricked? Also, The MSI b550 tomahawk is updatable without a usb right?
I havent done bios updates before and im trying to help a friend with his bios updates so he can run secure boot and tpm for battlefield 6
He doesnt have one and I read the tomahawk b550 can update without a usb via some file on a HDD/SSD
The risk is high that the board gets soft bricked if power goes out mid bios update, if you want to use flashback, you need a USB drive, if you're doing normal flashing via bios, you can get away with not using a USB drive iirc
Also are you sure? Iirc MSI bundled a free 16gb USB stick with that line lol
So. He bought that board, I did and so did a friend in Australia, the 3 of us did not get USB sticks with em. this was during the start of the pandemic awhile ago but not when they first released
Yeah you can flash it without a usb
If the board's not bricked
But since it is very much bricked
You need a usb drive
So you say bricked and 1111 said soft bricked. is it more the unusable bricked or fixable bricked?
Fixable bricked
Has it already happened?
It's bricked in the sense that it's not going to work unless you use flashback
no but the board has the stock bios version
I'm calling it soft bricked because it's bricked in the sense of being unusable but soft in the sense that flashback can still save it (not guaranteed though)
how to check?
This is his bios version in system info
BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. A.30, 9/3/2020
Pretty sure that board isn't dual bios
Yeah that's more of a gigabyte thing tbh
Do gigabyte still do dual bios these days
Could've sworn they had a deal where they bundled a USB stick in the package, got one with my b450 board back then
so I google does the b550 tomahawk have a backup bios and it replies yes, but goes on to explain flashback with a usb
Errr
The b550 tomahawk doesn't have dual bios
Do not trust the ai overview
For technical information
It is terrible at sourcing highly specific and niche topics
Google didn't fully understand what you're asking there
hey so i was checking the measurements online for the 3070 ventus 2x and the thermal pad were like 2.25 and 2.75 but the one i want to buy is Thermalright Thermal pad and they only come in increments of .5 will the difference of .25 matter?
guys would this be a good 1440p budget build
even if the 360 aio is overkill its better for the price than a noctua 12 and 3 more fans
Me
me when i send a picture asking gemini to tell me which cpu is the best for the price and he tells me i sent a blank picture
"dont use chatgpt" they said, "gemini is better" they said
dude AI in general is goofy but gemini is downright idiotic half the time
genius
i found chatgpt to be pretty useful but sometimes it forgets the 9060xt exists and just gives answers about the 7600xt
yea sounds abt right
prob checks outdated sources
it has told me the 50 series arent out yet in several occasions 😭
also are gigabyte b650 boards any good
this one specifically
as a budget board
As an AI Language model, I do not have opinions regarding technology.
lol /j
whats the price?
is this the thing that people have reported chips the corner of the pcie connection of gpus?
Ask real humans
those exist anymore?
Don’t ask best for price questions to robots
They have 0 idea
no, thats asus fault
prob used gemini fgor that one lol
are they still good for general comparisons
also can we say the C word
Meh
Yes
clanka
stupid friggin clankers
grrrr
hard r
anyways other than having only 2 ram slots is the b650 i sent good for a budget build
gigabyte i think your arrows are kinda not working
that pcie x1 is in the weirdest spot
this means you can connect up to 3 fans without splitters or a hub right?
If you use it like this
Well remove the ability to use it
please no
id be fine I dont use it, it just normalizes AI, which is exactly what I want to combat.
Springneck, rust bucket, gearbox, construct, oil slurper, tin can
You will not take my job
How is it offensive in any sense
Until robots become sentient
It cannot be offensive
If you use it to refer to people who use AI then yeah
the thermal pad were like 2.25 and 2.75 but the one i want to buy is Thermalright Thermal pad and they only come in increments of .5 will the difference of .25 matter?
can anyone answer if this will matter?
Would it be worth it to replace the original thermal paste of my mac air with ptm7950 after i get a pc ot should i leave it as is
Apple making a laptop without a fan and deciding to make the whole ass case a heatsink
being slightly thicker is fine, you'd rather have it get squeezed into place since thermal pads usually have some play with them, if your thermal pads are too short, it won't make good contact and won't be good for thermals
thx! didnt know if it had to be super specific on the measurements
You always have some wiggle room, but it's a bit better to have too much rather than too little
got any reccomendation?
i was gonna use thermalright but if theres a better option im all ears
Not sure, but thermalright should be a solid option
Uhhh it still doesn’t let me
then yeah you just gotta talk a bit to level up at least once i think
It says I need level 3
Well there’s a bunch of cables around
And I don’t know where to put the power supply either
which cable is it
24 pin is missing
from how your case looks, the power supply will slip into the bottom
no its not
Is there any way for me to like video call it?
Yeah it’ll be in the shroud below your graphics card
Its not plugged in
neither are the others we're getting there
is there streaming allowed in general vc 1
Oh
thats fine ig
Yea i have no context
only in dms not in this server
i can help either way
if everything inside is stable, flip the pc right side up and then from your pov turn it around
alr now turn it around
Left or right?
either lol 180 degrees
yup now see the thumb screws on the back on the left
precisely
the side panel hides all the wires and the power supply holder
good good now do you see the part of the case in the bottom to the left where its got a big opening
the side of the power supply with the main power inlet will go there
with the fan facing down
correct
yup it may look weird but that is the correct orientation
Like this?
perfect
Should I screw them in now?
do you have the screws
yea
these will work
it mightve come with some that have the same tooth but smaller head size
those will work as well
but this is pretty much the standard screw for stuff besides motherboard
Got it
Uh mines weird looking in one of the holes
thats normal
Oh thank goodness
on your motherboard on the other side there should be a connector that looks like itll fit in
it will feel a little scary plugging it in because its a large connector and doesnt go in easy
so move it side to side
Like on its back ?
apply pressure to blue area, if you can use fingers to hold the red underlined spot of the board and move it side to side like the green arrows
yup
yeah thats comepletely fine
while moving it side to side yeah
and if you can, put other hand's fingers on the back of the board to prevent excessive bending
^
My poor little itx board

It’s in
Sus
you doing it is what matters, well done
Nah it was my friend who did the cpu part
I still got these
Not all of those will be used hahaha
I can’t see the top right corner
Can i see the corner
Its a small little hole in the corner
Done
Once through it plugs into one of these two plugs
Does it matter which one?
i don't think so
does your power supply have two of that cable or just one
its better to have two and plug in both but if it only has one itll be fine, two is only for the absolute highest end cpus that need more than one cable's rated wattage of 300w
Uhh just 1
looks like with the prongs facing up
Usually left is required, right is optional
yes
yeah you can
yes
you have an all in one liquid cooler, very nice
currently the fans are pointing the right way
This way?
There’s water in it??
yup its better than an air cooler
and also do not worry theres no chance of it leaking and breaking everything
its a comepletely sealed loop
have you installed your hard drive
Like windows?
I put windows into this?
They put the motherboard, cpu and cooler. And they put windows into that photo I just sent
That’s about it
nah not even close
what you are unscrewing is the cover for where an m.2 ssd drive would go
we are going to see if the person installed one
Do I need a computer for this?
Also I don’t think they did, we just took the ssd from the box and placed it insides
Other than that the ssd was never out the box
nah you should be fine
they did, there is indeed a drive there ok phew good
put the cover back on it
after that you need to find another cable in your power supply
I thoguht you meant they installed the windows ON the ssd
I didn’t think you meant if it was inside already
no i just meant if they put an ssd to begin with
installing windows will come later
Yea it was one of the first things we did
in the back
it appears your power supply is semi modular
go to where you have that pile of thick cables
this
Alrighty
this cable
This one
I got 2 of them?
you only need one
when youve found the connection plug this connector into it
👌
Give me a sec
Are the words supposed to be upside down???
Also there’s 2 pcie
Which one
im back had to step away
either one
when its plugged in make the other end go through the vent circled in red
and plug it into the yellow circled connector, your gpu
yes
after that try to find on your motherboard this connector
Put the 2 one in first then the 6 one
Oh okay
This one?
Is the blue thing meant to come off??
let me see a close up of the blue thing along with what it came off of
It didn’t come off
I was just wondering
And I tried putting it inside but it’s like kinda hard
Oh ok no its not supposed to come off
make sure to line up the notch
and yeah itll be a lil difficult like the 24 pin from earlier
Alrighty
It went inside
And I heard a click or smth like it
That’s normal right?
alr good
Now what’s next
what is right here
oh ok its an all argb hub
What’s the move chief?!
alrighty i'd say you can test it now
do you have a monitor
and also plug this into one of the blue ports in the back of the pc
Yea
But give me a few mins
I have to clean the mess
yeah no problem lol
sotru
Does it matter which one?
keep the panels off of the pc and make sure no wires are touching/inside fan blades
either blue one works
Both are usb 3
Ima need help with the monitor
what's up
please take over if you can
thats just for the side panel where you need two
dunno what the other two would be for
@fickle bolt
I unscrewed 4 but now have 3
I should be okay right?
check the inside of the case if it fell
if that's for the side panels, it's just for holding the side panels on, it's not important electrically
Uh are you taking over?
?
?
im boutta be kicked off
Not very
Oh you’re the one taking over?
Yeah ig
Alrighty
fr
Clean up the cables
did I get ghost pinged
This part?
Get all the cables in the case and put the panel on
Yea
Same but in pics
im back but i dont know for how long
plug in keyboard, mouse, monitor, and power cable
alr thats fine
Yea this
Oh my goodness that’s a lot of stuff to plug in
looking good
you got this its four things
Give me a minute, I have to go find my mouse
Put keeb and mouse in motherboard io
And also my mouse and keyboard are wireless
noice
Just plug the dangles in then
Dongles
at the back of your pc it should look like this, plug your monitor cable into the display port farthest to the left (not in the hdmi)
and then of course plug in power supply cable
brother qmb you must go on without me
i entrust his build testing with you
Farewell, brother
I shall lead him to glory
Alr
Any one
Color doesn’t matter?
No dongle?
It has that too!
Wired is more convenientl for me because I don't need to charge it, however wireless could be better for you if you do esports
No I just wanna play Minecraft and Roblox
Ok then wired might be better.
Ok take it out and plug it into the wall, then attach your displayport/hdmi
Take the power cable and plug it in
I have ups
Can I use that for this
Ups?
Look like this
Oh w
Yeah plug it into that then lol
W buy, wish I had one
Alr u good
The way I understand it is that the ups goes into the wall
And the power supply is plugged into the ups
Right?
Would a video call be easier ?
For bios setup?
I mean maybe but im not sure how my parents would feel abt that
I’m still on the ups part
My current specs is, i7 12700k, ddr5 32gb, Intel Arc A580,
now then should i upgrade my monitor first or my gpu ? am planning on upgrading to 1440p gaming so yeah ( my monitor at the moment is redmi g24i 180hz IPS FHD )
Yes defo upgrade gpu
Alright now for the monitor
But a question I have is, do I place the power supply into the main one or the monitor into the main outlet
Psu goes into main, it'll draw more power
my main game i'd say is genshin, and when playing even at maximum settings with no fps drops, i still see visible pixels on the character edges, do you think this problem will be fixed if i switch to 1440p ?
Uh maybe
Me trying to help two people at once 😭
Now time for the monitor
something more is that my previous monitor before this was viewsonic vx2416 100hz, that was FHD too, but after only switching to my current monitor which should've been an upgrade, i notice pixels in this monitor and i didnt notice pixels in the monitor before, even though both are same size same resolution, just that was 100hz and this is 180hz
Gotta unbox
Is it Curved?
No
Odd. Do you have the image sharpening up?
But I found another cable from the ups and I’m not sure if I should put into the case or into the monitor
Ok then put monitor facing away from u to install cables
What's it look like
