No, you need ddr5 rdimms (registered dimms), not udimms for that motherboard, they are physically different in where it is keyed and therefore physically incompatible

being slightly thicker is fine, you'd rather have it get squeezed into place since thermal pads usually have some play with them, if your thermal pads are too short, it won't make good contact and won't be good for thermals
