The 9900K's value is very low because even very low budget CPUs in recent generations can beat it.
Reasons:
-
Dead platform
-
Warranty likely is expired now or soon will be
-
Being sold used
-
Performs worse than modern budget chips
Similar issue with the RAM and motherboard.
i9 tax
It's really just an i7 or hell
Maybe a modern i5 can match it with ease
Nevermind
I was wrong
A modern i5 would destroy the 9900k
Besides the rest of the pc is uh
Pretty crap
The CPU, GPU and motherboard are the only decent things in there... If it was 500 CAD cheaper
Even then it's debatable
PSU seems sus
no
Please rethink your decisions
Is this computer a good budget option, I don’t know really anything about computers https://share.google/52U3DsFwvqzWuKtmK
If you want low performance even for that low cost, then sure
Don't think its a great deal
What do u think is a good pc for a 400-500 budget
I’m not expecting to perform crazy but I want it to perform good for a pc that costs that amount
Alr lemme cook sm up
I can build but I dont have money
When you said let me cook sm up I thought u were looking for individual parts to tell me to buy
I was preferably looking for a prebuilt because i have 0 pc building knowledge
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600G, Montech X5M MicroATX Mini Tower
Oh
I would ask someone who knows what they're doing then, I know zip abt prebuilts
What’s your budget @idle parcel
Around 500 is probably the most id wanna spend
Ik its not a lot that’s why i wanna try to get the most bang for my buck
CPU sucks but the gpu is good
Check this out on @Newegg:STGAubron Gaming Desktop PC, Intel Core i7 3.4G up to 3.9G, Radeon RX 5700 8G GDDR6, 16G RAM, 512G SSD, 600M WiFi, BT 5.0, RGB Fan x 4, RGB Keyboard & Mouse & Mouse Pad, RGB BT Sound Bar, W10H64 https://www.newegg.com/p/3D5-0043-000F9?item=9SIAJP0K713292
Immediately upgrade cpu when able
It’s the only non-Dell thing in that price range with a gpu
@idle parcel
I’d suggest a whole platform upgrade to LGA1700
When you have the money
Or am4, to a 5700x
Also the computer is telling me that it can’t be delivered to my house
Idk why
“This item cannot be delivered to your current location”
CPU Brand: AMD, CPU Series: Ryzen 5, CPU Model: Ryzen 5 2600X, CPU Socket: AM4, CPU Cooler Type: Air, CPU Cooler Socket: AM4, GPU Chipset: Nvidia, GPU Brand: Zotac, Memory Capacity: 16GB, Memory Type: DDR4, Memory Number of Modules: 2, Internal Storage Capacity: 512GB, Internal Storage Form Factor: M.2, Motherboard Brand: AMD, Motherboard Socket...
How about this
https://www.jawa.gg/product/86467/gaming-pc-3060
thid would be much better
Both have upgrade paths
But second one has better stuff
@idle parcel
K thanks
hey should my liquid cooler be touching the cpu?
The coldplate should be making good contact with the CPU IHS, if there's a gap between the coldplate and the IHS, you might be using the wrong mounting kit
okay i didn’t get a mounting kit i literally have missing screws so i just put whatever screw i had to fit it
is the bad?
AMD Ryzen 7 8700F (4.1GHz) Processor
PRO B650-VC WiFi II Motherboard
32GB DDR5-5600 RAM
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti Graphics Card and i got the asus lc ll 360 argb white edition
Do you have the standoffs installed?
Asus uses the same standoffs for both AM4 and AM5, they just make you flip the plastic collars
gotcha
well i just used the screws and turned it on idk the screen wont turn on but I can hear it running
am i supposed to connect the wire into pump fan 1 input?
There should be 2 wires coming out of the pump, one 4 pin pwm that should be plugged into pump or CPU fan or equivalent, the other is a USB cable
usb cable? it’s was like 5 pins on top bottom with one missin in bottom right so i put it in something called jusb
and the other one i put it in cpu fa
so i’m not sure
yeah so the micro usb i put it in the 9 pins and the 4 pin i put in in something called cpu_fan1
the aio pump cable which pin name does that go in?
Different manufacturers can call it different names, all the 4 pin pwm headers have the same pin out, it'll just show up slightly differently in bios
gotcha
Can be cpu_fan, can be cpu_pump, can be pump, etc
yeah so i have pump fan and cpu fan and i tried both but i also have another 4 pins its called jrgb
idk if it will work on that one
4 pin RGB is different, it should have a plastic bit in a different place that should stop you from plugging it in there
wait that plastic thing is on pump fan and CPU fan but it’s not on the jrgb
the jrgb is just 4 small cubes together with pins
It's there to stop you from plugging one into the other
Either way it's not cross compatible
yeah so do i put it in jrgb then
that’s what i was saying i can’t put it in the other ones
You can't reach it or
fr
nah it didn’t work
What's not working
the screen didn’t turn on
That's gonna have to do with the USB cable
Change which port you're plugging the USB cable into and see what happens
Double check that it's fully plugged in on the pump side
yeah it is imma get the software to see if it’s connected first
i also hear my fans are more loud for some reason
why would that happen
Fans typically default to 100% in bios/training.
yeah my asus software dosent detect the liquid cooler
im not sure why it’s not turning on
omg it works
holyyyyy
thank you everyone for helping thanks guys
it’s weird but the lights is on but as soon as i open the software the light turns off idk what’s up with that i just won’t use the software
also i’m not 100% if it’s working but what’s a bad cpu usuage over time so i know it’s not working
Hey everyone,
I’m new here and I’m found yall on the Newegg app, I’m looking to build my own PC and just looking for help or tips and meet new ppl yall welcome to add me on discord I also started my content as well on tik tok I’m looking to start buying my parts hopefully Friday starting with my motherboard and case
What’s your budget? Or do you already have a list you’d like to share?
I don’t have nothing tbh lol I don’t have a list, but my home girl told me to start with my motherboard n case so I been looking on Newegg
I look at YouTube on how to build a PC omg it’s a lot lol but I see it worth it tho
What are you looking to do with it and how much are you looking to spend?
I’m looking to play games and start my own server soon
Anything specific and what budget?
No tbh I just want something real good n good graphic
Price would be a pretty big consideration, if you don't know what you want, just for reference, a relatively standard 9070xt build with something like a 7700x without deals or bundles is ~$1500, knock it down to a 9060xt and cut some corners and it'd be ~$1000, upgrade to a 9800x3d and make some other minor upgrades and it'd be ~$1800
Yes, I can build a PC. My labor cost will be $325. This includes assembly, installing software, updating, and security. This is on top of what parts you would purchase. If you need help choosing parts I can help you with that too. However, I am currently out of town. Probably for another month. If you can wait you will be saving money on labor. Please let me know.
That’s my computer guy that’s what he text me I had to copy it cause it won’t allow me to upload the pic anyways what you think or should I buy one that ready to go
uh microcenter's build service is cheaper than that
https://www.microcenter.com/site/service/instore-service-complete-build.aspx
and $250 is still a bit much for just labor imo, but up to you if you really don't want to build it
Okay, did you build your PC sorry for all the questions
yos
Yes
Okay idk what to do I’m lost lol 😂
Start with what you want to do and how much you want to spend, figure out what parts you want, then decide if you want to build it or have a separate service do it
Thank you 😊 I appreciate it
Thank you so much I appreciate all of yall taking the time to respond and help me I do want to learn on my own I just didn’t know it was a lot of steps
When I start I’m keep yall updated on my progress and journey

whats a good am5 matx motherboard right now for the 7900x. Im trying to downsize my pc but I cant find any deals for matx and Ive heard some bad things recently about Asrock
What's your budget?
honestly just looking for a good deal but have about $200 as my max
Requirements for colors, M.2 slots, wifi, etc?
Any color is fine, need wifi, 2-3 m.2 all at PCIE 4.0. Thanks
I can’t do XMP?
I clicked amp profile 1
And it still says 4800 mhz
@sullen spoke
I need help
Ended up building today an XTX with a 7700 for my friend, this is so nice, throw on it the ICUE nautilus 360 with 3 extra Corsair fans all under 1600$
Hey, my siblings PC's motherboard and cpu died apparently (thats what geeksquad said) so I put together a new one and was wondering if anyone had some input
Would love to know if there are any issues with that I chose or if the motherboard is secretly bad (motherboard was really hard to decide on)
they will upgrade gpu in the future and really wanted cpu cooler with display
Wait are they buying a 1070 that’s almost $500 or do they already have it
Cos don’t do that
they already had it haha
i didnt get a new PSU, Case, Storage, or GPU
So I'm more so asking how the mobo/ram/cpu combo is
(she really wants all white look)
Sorry im not very familiar with ddr5, but I would try another profile. Or manually enter in the recommended settings if the mobo supports that
You can go a good bit cheaper and still have all white
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/QtnXsY/asus-b650e-max-gaming-wifi-w-atx-am5-motherboard-b650e-max-gaming-wifi-w
And thermalright have better priced aios, including white aios with screens like this one. If they don't like the particular design on this one, there are still many more other thermalright aios that can still fit your criteria.
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/y3vD4D/thermalright-frozen-warframe-argb-7084-cfm-liquid-cpu-cooler-frozen-warframe-360-white-argb
Can't believe we almost left behind aios entirely and became a dual tower masterrace but now people want a display on their cooler
Is your build white or black I have options for both.
$200 Good White Board. Two NVMe slots and good VRMs 12+2+2.
The NVMe are 5.0 and 4.0.
with that card yeah
would it be better to go to am5
as in without spending too much could I get a mobo cpu ram combo that includes a cpu better than or as good as the 5700x3d
im rly just not familiar with the am5 and lga 1700 sockets
I built a pc for my friend and found out the 1700 cpus use more power than most gpus
I think you would save more money by sticking to am4 for longer
I see some 5900x on ebay going for 185 or so
5700x3d is 245 cheapest
Am5 would be a good jump, even going to a 7700x.
Grab one cheap on sale, find some solid 6400mhz ram, and a good motherboard.
If only he was here a week ago
9800x3d was 400 at micro center
I don’t remember the 9700x price but the 9600x was 150
He can sell the 5900x be down like $80 after ebay fee
Ok chat, need a a few recommendations.
As a few of you know im building a pc for my dad, as his current laptop isn't doing so hot and he needs a new one in general.
Alpha has given me reco's for a CPU, mobo, and ram(r5 7600x, MSI X670E GAMING WiFi, and a klevv 2x32 kit), but i need recommendations for all other parts, with a few requirements.
(If possible, rgb can be omitted. he doesn't really care what it looks like, if it works)
GPU: need it to be work capable. He won't be doing any 3d modeling, but he will be doing lots of illustrator/photoshop.
Storage: idrc, high quality 1TB+ NVMe
Cooler: AIO preferable.
Case: legit anything, even one with no side panel.
Psu: one that won't blow up
If you are doing an aio just do one of the cheap Thermalright aios.
whats the budget?
and the purpose
Purpose is work(photoshop, illustrator, infinite numbers of chrome tabs), idk what the budget is, I'll ask
ae?
Huh
after effects?
youd want intel/nvidia then
what does he use
can you use non acronyms 😦
Illustrator/photoshop(srry)
alg
hmmm ok
does he want a smaller pc?
Like itx?
Lol I dont thik he really would care but smaller might be helpful
ok
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/YQVs74
prolly smth like this
Part List - Intel Core i5-14600K, Radeon RX 9060 XT, Lian Li A3-mATX MicroATX Mini Tower
unless one of the programs utilize cuda
Also he said budget is "a couple thousand dollars"
Lol wtf
It better
nothing he said afaik uses cuda
yeah im ngl he doesnt seem to do much
https://www.walmart.com/ip/seort/16654901795? hmm am I crazy or does this not seem like that bad of a deal?
Do wish it were a x3d but
Are gigabyte gpus bad? I keep seeing mixed opinions about them
Specifically the rx 7600xt 16gb
they're generally decent
also please don't buy a 7600xt, it's just a 7600 with 2x vram
Yea and?
Whats bad about that
you pay more for no meaningful performance gains
it's identical
you can get like a 9060xt for similar amount of money
More expensive here
8gb or 16gb, pick your poison
Like 100 more
I can try getting the hellhound 9060 for a similar price as the gigabyte 7600 but thats in only one place without tax
hmm
alright
just avoid the 7600xt since you'll be paying more for no performance difference
that 16gb vram wouldn't get used correctly since the gpu itself isn't fast enough to handle ultra graphics on the newest games
alr
Even in 1440p?
ya
so 8gb is enough for 1440p because the preformance isnt enough for games that need more than 8 gb
but on better cards like the 9060 it isnt enough
precisely
between the 8gb models of the 7600, what would you say is the better option, sapphire pulse, asus dual or gigabyte
Sapphire right?
pulse remains the best regardless
alr
Thanks anyways
Also would 1080p on a 23 inch screen be as clear as 1440p on a 27 inch or something
Nice
And im thinking of pairing it with an r7 7700
Or r5 7600
very nice cpus
Should be a nice combo for 1080 high or 1440 low-medium right
Would a noctua n9 or 12 be enough for those?
yes, though you can find thermalright coolers that perform similarly to noctuas
like peerless assassin- anything from thermalright really, they're all good
the brand releases a new product every few weeks or smth, too often for me to track lmao
Yes i heard about that
are case fans from them also good?
and also warranty
noctua has unmatched service, but frankly- it doesn't really matter
fans don't die in a year or something
What about those antec 5 packs
thermalright produces said noctuas
so thermalright can indeed match noctua if they want
and they have shown that
thermalright's motto is to make good products affordable to everyone
so yeah, they'll keep spamming once they get an idea
forget naming legacy, it's a cannon of products lmao
all good products
i like how the older and inferior pa120 se is more expensive
These will fit in a lianli a3 right?
also whats the difference between the peerles assassin and the royal knight, heatsink size?
so cools slightly worse?
oh nice
but if i remember correctly the PE is enough for g.skill ram right
Flare x
Ig i could get most of the parts locally and buy the ram, fans and cooler on amazon
The a3 can hold 10 fans or 7 with a glass side panel so i assume i also need a fan hub since m atx motherboards dont have alot of fan connections
I see there are some 8 gb 4060s or 5060s at a similar price as the 16gb 7600, would those be a better pick?
Are you on 1080p or 1440p? If you're doing 1080p the 5060 8gb could be worth it, otherwise I'd try ry to find something with more vram (7600xt 16gb would work)
Idk yet
what about the intel cards are thry any good
I’ve heard mixed opinions
trash drivers
9060xt 8gb
the single best option
get a 9060xt 8gb its 250$.
literally the best value out there
What about the 16gb
also great value, around 360-370
8gb 9060 is around the same price as the 16gb 7600 here
Both being pulse
*for 1080p
I personally wouldn't buy/reccomend an 8gb card for a new 1440p build
what country
also 9060xt = 7700xt so
?
Fr?
9060xt>7700xt
Except in rt?
better rt and upscaling
id take an 8gb 9060xt over a 7600xt anyday
16gb 9060 is like the same price as the 7700
what country

For the 7600 In a black rgb less build would the pulse look good tho
Hello everyone. My friend asked me for PC build for his friend that lives in Canada. They have a budget of 1k CAD which isnt much so wasnt sure exactly what to build them. Any help would be appreciated. I tried but didnt try hard enough and ended up with something over budget. Here's this if you want to take a look at it. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WXHhpK
Country: Canada
Budget: $1000 CAD
Use: Gaming
Resolution: 1080p
Aesthetic: Just want it to work. Only specification is a SAMA NEVIEW 4503 ATX Mid Tower Case for some reason.
Condition: New
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, GeForce RTX 5050, SAMA NEVIEW 4503 ATX Mid Tower
i didnt know how else to get the price down lol
You can get better boards for slightly cheaper
A620 for 155 is silly
Thats b series pricing
You can get a cheaper case too
yeah it was one recommended to me a while back for another cheap build so i went with it for this one as well
RIGHT
Oh tru missed that
i have no idea why they picked that case
im guessing they just want one like that
if you can rework the entire list that would be great. That was just a list i had someone in here make for someone else in the past but edited it to make it slightly cheaper by changing the cpu and gpu and the case since thye picked that
oh wait im sorry i forgot a very important specification. Im going to check with them to see how set in stone it is
they said nvidia but imma see if i can make it more flexible
thats what im trying to find out
thats what i was thinking because of their limited price too
not like they are too far behind nvidia nowadays
my friend has his discord on DND because hes an idiot
i get why most people have DND but hes not getting pinged or anything he doesnt need it
especially after he asked me a question like come on
they are asking their canadian friend about the case and gpu
right
@rugged grail are you actually putting it together rn or trying to decide on parts?
sorry I will join in like 5 minutes. My bad it's noisy here rn and the baby is making noises
sorry wifey should be out of the shower then I'll definitely help
my bad
in the meantime, keep sending messages until your name turns green
that way if you need to send pictures or anything youc an
so I have attached the processor, cpu tower cooler, ram and ssd
now I am confused about the powersupply cables
should I send the image of my mother board
How many text do I need to send
XD
😦
big sad
its almost feel like spamming
rough
yeah
also cad sucks
everytime i look at pc stuff for canadian friends im baffled at the price difference
there was a laptop a friend was looking at and when i converted the money it cost like 200 usd more than it did here
yeah
real
its rough out here
i cant even imagine
hey sorry
Hello
@obsidian wigeon what about the 3060 12gb, would it work for 1080 or 1440p?
3060 is slower than the 7600
it's not a 1440p card
so yeah, the extra vram would be meaningless
Ah
Would it still be alright for games like fh5 and wt tho?
My library isnt that big, mainly warthunder and Roblox, planning to buy forza 5, teardown and ppg
Would the 7600 be enough for those at 1440p?
Around 1600-1800 local currency
What’s that in USD?
So that’s just for the gpu?
Yes
Check how much a 9070xt or 9060xt 16GB would be for you locally.
16gb 7600 is around 1650, 8gb 9060 similar price
9070 too much
Can try getting a 2 fan reaper or pulse 9060 16gb
or hellhound in the tax free zone
That’d probably be your best choice, as the extra vram and fsr4 would help a bit.
I got my ASROCK challenger from Newegg for about $360 USD, if that matters.
I dont want a reaper that thing gets to like 100 c doesnt it
Unsure. That’d be something to look into.
Im not going to get a gpu from an international store since i fear it will get lost in transit or something
Well not 100 but pretty high
It might be worth the risk if you’re saving a lot.
I found cheap gpus in techinn
Idk if its a good seller tho
Never heard of them, but that’s probably cuz I’m not that familiar with that area.
Middle east soo
But i’ll try going for a pulse or hellhound 9060xt, if not then an 7600 or 8gb 9060
The gigabyte 9060s are priced similarly to the pulse but idk if its worth it, what do you think
Nvm its closer to the hellhound now, no competition there
Are the 8gb variants still good for games that dont require much vram
I plan to play mostly teardown, people playground , forza horizon 5, war thunder, Minecraft, cs2 and Roblox, most of these games aside from teardown need like less than 6 gb of vram
Those should all be light on vram
teardown textures are relatively small since it's more of a low poly game
?
I was told its pretty intense cus all the voxels and smoke/destruction/explosion physics and stuff
We did a fresh build and having trouble getting the old windows 11 key from the sata SSD. Booting from this sata won’t allow us in because it says we need to change the pin, but it’s in airplane mode and can’t connect
Should we just find a new windows key somewhere? Or what’s the answer? I tried installing the LAN drivers for the new mobo onto the sata ssd using the file directory while booting from the m.2 new ssd
It's intensive on the GPU, but it shouldn't take that much vram since the textures themselves are relatively small
afaik it's calculation heavy not memory heavy
did it have bitlocker enabled before?
if that was the case, there's not much you can do with it
Wouldn’t have messed with that setting
We still have access to the drive’s contents while booting from the new m.2 ssd
it's not default default but it's a part of the windows setup that windows encourages you to enable iirc
So we’ll just need a new windows key?
If so that’s not the biggest issue. Just wanna make sure this doesn’t mean we’ve messed anything else up
Ah okay, so for these games at 1440p i should either go with the 5060, 4060 or 9060?
all being 8gb
none for 1440p lol
Yea, bitlocker encryption locks you out if you don't have your recovery key
Then what
9060xt 16gb or 5060ti 16gb
Will they work for 1080p
Damn, i just got mine recently I believe but I should have made sure my sister got hers
These
I'm playing war thunder on 1440p high rn and I have ~10gb of vram allocated
8gb is fine for 1080p and only really 1080p with newer games
Ok
older games 1440p with 8gb is doable
Even with upscaling?
Or does that not affect the vram usage very much
Thanks for the answer btw, have a good day!
Upscaling can help but that ends up not being a very enjoyable experience
It's possible but I would not recommend it
You're welcome
Alr thanks
Also is that with the regular 50 something gigabyte version? Or the 120 something high texture quality version
I have the HQ texture pack downloaded, don't think I'm using it though
Actually launcher defaults to default client, might not have the texture pack installed actually
Ah
Hard to tell when I usually launch through steam
Sorry, other way around, Steam says I just have the 60gb standard client, launcher says full HQ lol
I opened the dev server launcher by accident earlier lol
hai, im finally upgrading from my shitty gaming laptop in august for my birthday and im wondering if this would be an good/mid tier pc that can run my games on 1080p with nice fps? Is it possible to upgrade the gpu later down the line? https://www.newegg.com/stormcraft-gaming-desktop-pc-geforce-rtx-5060-intel-core-i5-14400f-32gb-ddr5-2-tb-ssd-sirius-black/p/N82E16883420026?Item=N82E16883420026
It would be if it wasn't $999
The pc is overprice?
Very
Okay. I am wondering Is it the case for most pc?
What???
Sorry, english is not my first language
I mean to say is most prebuilt pc overprice on newegg?
Considering that the computer is not hideous and cheaper 5060 pcs make some large compromise
I think it is not bad relative to the others
It actually looks pretty nice too
That is good. Is it possible to find a better performance for $1000 USD?
Yes
Just saying relative to the other 5060 computers the one he chose was nice
relative

Sorry?
Oh ok. Any idea where to look?
Wow
I mean
It's still a ripoff even if it's relatively good
This is the 8 gig card though
I mean
At least its under 900
Doesn't it outperform the 5060 at lwast
Yeah
This is 1,100 but has the 16 gig 9060 xt and a 7700
https://www.newegg.com/skytech-gaming-desktop-pcs-amd-radeon-rx-9060-xt-amd-ryzen-7-7700-32gb-ddr5-1tb-nvme-ssd-st-azure3-2203-b-al-black/p/3D5-000Z-002Z5
This pc is ddr4 but at least it's got a way better gpu
I'd take the plunge tbh
Yeah
I hate the fact the solution to this shitty market is always "spend more money"
Lmao spend a little over your budget to get better value
Seems like everything under $1000 is crap value nowadays
Rather than try to get the best value at this specific budget
Yeah the problem is that the minimum value threshold is at $1000+
Even with used GPUs
The si theory is actually true, its all 8 gig cards
Is better than the one I sent?
Leagues better
By a lot yeah
You spend $100 more but you get way more performance/$
For only $200 USD more. Is very nice
Nah its 1100
Sorry, you are correct
Just 100 more
Yeah
For 100 more is worth the upgrade?
Don't view it as an upgrade
View the $999 as a sub par product
And the $1099 as what you'd be aiming for
Because that piece of crap for $999 is outrageous
You're getting way more performance for $1099 compared to the $999 pc
It has double the video memory and a more powerful processor. Also, the motherboard can take newer cpus
The $999 pc has the 14400f, which is the newest it can go
What board does it have
Wow, why do companies make such computers
I wonder if it can go up to an X3D
They hate giving consumers value
Always has been that way
Ok nvm that looks like a bottom barrel board
Don't trust the vrms
This 1100 pc is on an AM5 motherboard, which can take newer cpus
It can take a non X3D I'd say
Just dont put anything too powerful
Yes, I am being careful about the motherboard, as I want to have the chance to upgrade later in time
yeah that 999 pc wont take anything after 14th gen intel
I mean
but am5 will last till at least the next generation
is it good for 1080p? or is 1440p possible.
To be fair the $1099 pc is limited too... But that's prebuilts in general
I say 1440p is possible
Depends on the game
I am on 1440p with a 9060 xt
Generally yes
Can you please explain?
Motherboard vrms
yeah its just that the other one is even more so
Prebuilts usually go with the cheapest board that can take the cpu
It only impacts upgradability
Not that important for most prebuilt consumers
He is saying the motherboard doesnt have good power delivery because they use the bare minimum to get by, so he is just saying to not get anything too crazy if you do upgrade
Just means that if you want to upgrade you'll have to get a new motherboard
I understand, these is surprising
At least upgrade to a more power demanding cpu
It's really not that bad
Even in custom build terms
We're really at a point where this mediocre pc is decent value compared to custom builts
2025 moment
Depending on the parts, what must be upgraded first?
Motherboard
How troublesome
Yes, that is my goal
The upgrade is going to be several years down the line
And depending on what AMD put out
You might be able to get a non X3D that might be fine with the board
Alternative you could upgrade the platform entirely
Might as well since the motherboard has to go anyways
Depending on how long AM5 lasts
Sorry, what do you mean by platform?
7800x3d uses a little more power than the 7700 in games
Generally the cpus on an AM5 should work on the motherboard released that generation, and the boards would be backwards compatibility
9800 x3d uses more but its not bad given how many phases the board has, even if the heatsink on there is basically useless
Forwards compatibility is another can of worms
Yeah but considering how the bad the prebuilt boards generally are
They're just ok with mediocre vrms
Not ideal but it's not bad per say
I think as long as he doesnt get anything too crazy in the future he should get by
Ohhh
Putting an X3D in them would be really pushing it
Yeah basically the socket
Especially considering how much they cost
am4 socket, am5 socket, etc
Yes. I only wish for 1080p gaming. But also for sustainable pc. I mainly play osu and shooter game
Sustainable?
With these AAA devs?
Nah
The real unsustainable part is how these game studios make games
If they actually bothered to optimize the code it wouldn't be as bad
It is sad, but i heard an 16GB GPU will help me more than 5060.
As long as you get the best performance/$ rather than "the best"
You're generally good
With this pc market getting "the best" pc is...
Well quite frankly
Idiotic
😂😂😂
The price scales exponentially to performance gains
You get less and less performance for every dollar spent after a certain point
Yeah honestly I think you can do 1440p
There should be a law against video games using more than 8gb vram
Wow, the way you say it makes sense to me now
Well right now my laptop has GPU with 4 gb vram 😢
Are you playing on your laptop too
That's fine for a laptop tbh
Just make it small picture :3
Yes, at first it was ok for me. Now it is very laggy, I also only have 8 GB ram.
Great deal in hindsight
I have 5700u vega
Ok that's probably the bigger bottleneck
Let me guess
1060?
1050?
It has 3050ti
5900hx vega and 3070
🤣🤣🤣
Well, I bought it in about 2022
I bought my laptop in 2021 so
Why do laptops have igpu with dgpu
Real
Linux hates it
Wayland also doesn't play nice
1080p 280hz monitor is ok with this?
Depends on game
Hopefully the ram is upgradeable
I play TF2 so I could technically run 300hz on my 3070m
Haha probably but I hate this laptop.
It's nice to have 32gb ram on the go :3
It seems like you play light games so yeah
I get 200 fps easy 1440p
The game i play most is osu!
Yeah that'd be easy to run
I get 180 fps in minecraft with shaders and that is with a bunch of trees around me
The refresh rate would be really handy
Fancy leaves?
Wow. What are the specification?
Usually my cpu screws me harder than the graphics
Yeah I need to find a culling mod that I actually like
I breed a lot
9600x and 9060 xt
So the entities near me kills my cpu
It is very similar
Single threaded moment
Yes in performance it'd be identical
At least when it come to games, which are typically single threaded
Yeah the 7700x is the slightly faster version of the 7700 and it ties with my 9600x
So you would have nearly the same pc as me
I wouldn't say slightly faster
I'd say better binned
Because technically you can oc a 7700 to match 7700x stock
I play on a server with gazillions of signs in the nether hub that makes peoples' computers, consoles, phones, etc. chug to single digits lol
Its like 2% faster
How surprising. Sorry if this is rude, how much is your PC?
not a big deal at all
I run my server on a haswell
Tbh that might be the bottleneck now that I think about it
I have upgraded it over the years so I dont really know
Oh, I assume you buyed it online
My last desktop's value went down the drain when I started adding noctua fans
I kept the noctuas when I sold it because
Nah I dont really know because I built it a long time ago and upgraded over time
I made the switch to itx (small pc) and then moved to am5 and then got the 9060 xt
Noctua fans pricy
Instead of upgrading my main rig I just buy homelab stuff now
The main pc budget is getting siphoned by my lab
Upgrading to am5 was almost $500 and the 9060 xt I got was a return from somebody, so it was discounted at $332
I will make most of this back once I sell my old pc
I upgraded so much that I have enough parts to build an entire pc
yeah idk how to proficiently type that way
I can't type John Madden with it
I can't type sudo
Johnathan Johnathan
Ok it hates linux commands
Guess i still need a keyboard
Doesn't capitalise is either
She sells seashells on the seashore
Hmm it's usable
Just a bit annoying compared to actually speed typing and using autocorrect
Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
It got that right
I have added this to my cart. Thanks so much to those who helped me, sorry my english is not great, but this has helped me learn.
Oh I guess it won't type John Madden unless you do it in steps
Librettos
I was trying to type Linus tech tips
What's license? Little balls
Yeah it's not that accurate
It doesn't know what ligma is
Breslau, Schlesien
What if I type in a word not in any of my keyboards
L' plugin
Nope
All good man hope you enjoy it
L' plugin
enjoy the osu sessions 😉
Lol if I bought everything in my system at once it would be 1400
I am not buying a fan over $15 from now on
i kinda want to get noctua fans
They are afraid of white fans so I wont be getting them
Not always but it is very real
My white ram was as much as black and same goes with the case
yeah im just fine with jet black
thanks haha. You have nice profile picture, NGNL 💯
Fortunately asrock doesnt tax white much at all
or maybe noctua beige
Their steel legend cards are actually nice surprisingly
why thank you
Their white boards also have a good price but their bios issue is really pissing me off
It sucks that I have to default to the B650-S and the B650 Eagle AX
And the B650-S is out of stock
Everything else is either crap, overpriced, or asrock
There are two entire motherboards worth buying
At least of you want perf/$
Lately it’s been only the white NZXT cases on sale lol
Hi! I've just bought a prebuilt PC (ABS Eurus Ruby Gaming PC - Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D - Radeon RX 9070 XT - 32GB DDR5 6000MHz - 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD - AR7800X3D9070XT) from newegg (not very confident in building anything myself) and have been having this strange issue where I open Honkai Star Rail and it will freeze and crash every time I alt-tab out of it..it then caused my task manager to also freeze and crash. If I try to force quit the program, my pc still thinks that the game is running despite there being no active window visible. Does anyone have experience with this specific game and have advice? I've tried clean uninstalling and redownloading, and have tried running some command prompts to clean any corrupted files, and reinstalled windows as well. The only temporary fix has been completely restarting my pc...
upon further inspection it looks like the game does not crash when i use the AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics instead of the RX 9070 XT.... guess it's a gpu issue if that helps narrow things down..?
Have you tried installing drivers
😭
I have, I guess I'll try reinstalling and using an older version of the software?
That’s your best bet
How are the drivers for the B580 currently?
I see one video glazing it and then the other says they had major problems like bruh 😭
IMO the B580 was a great option late 24/early 25. In the modern market, even a card like the 9070XT 8GB @250$ makes more sense
Where are you finding a 9070 for 250 dollars
are we robbing a semi truck going to micro center or something
guys
I was installing windows 11 and it says cant install windows into this drive due to bitlocker encryption
but now I cant even boot into windows
is my PC bricked
IT DOESNR WORK BRO
nvm I did it
They mean a 9060xt
Still not 250 💔
Found a guy selling an asus dual 7800 for 1850 NIS which is the price the same variant of the 9060 8gb is, he says it’s been only used for gaming and got replaced with a 5070, what do you guys think
😂 my bad on the typo. 9060*XT 8GB lol
Msrp is still 300 usd tho
Yeah. I was referencing the 50$ giftcard deal above. Obvs only matters if you had other spending planned there for your build anyway.
$250?
Eh that's not bad
The 8GB is a terrible card at msrp
But at a lower price point it's not bad

Ah
There is a shocking lack of options in the low end market
Or rather it doesn't exist at all
Is it us only ot something
Surely each 8 gb of vram from micron costs a whopping 50 dollars
For sure we would recommend to most people to step up if they can- but at that lower strict budget and it’s not a bad choice.
AMD and Nvidia had been pushing up the bar of entry for several generations now
whos buying a 5050 bruh 🥀
The existence of the used market makes the 5050 irrelevant
Those who assess the downsides as equal to the upsides
https://youtu.be/9K6VIhA7atw?si=MZHY1eUmP393IL_h this video was pretty interesting look at the entry level
These days we have $1000 pcs with used gpus
That's how bad the market is
Not because they can't afford a gpu
I got brand new one in 900 doler pc
Probably not brand new but it was new gen :3
These prices fluctuate like crazy
does it still count as brand new if its like a 3060 that just sat there on the store shelf for 4 years
I may or may not have recently done a 5900X/4070 TI SUPER build for 1000$ recently :D.
Ended up swapping in a 3070 for other plans I have with the 4070.
If they could do something like idk stimulate a stable market for international trade that might help a little bit maybe possibly
I wouldn't buy a 3060 in any scenario
Used 3060ti would be cheaper than a brand new 3060
It was crap when it came out
I found a guy selling an asus 7800 for 9060 8gb price
It's even worse now
seems pretty nice
Same with the 4060
Yeah sure that's a pretty good price
I've mostly seen 6700XTs at that price so
^ im too lazy its 1:30 am
Can find barely any 6000 series except the 6800
yes
wait

You didn't build a pc based on us market prices did you
I've seen way too many people make a us pcpartpicker list
Only to not be from the US
Making that whole list useless
no i dont use pcpartpicker
Ok good
Or well for prices at least
For making a parts list sure
Pcpartpicker is helpful but for prices it doesn't support it's a really bad reference
Like to share
I'd say it's bad outside of the US in a lot of cases
But for prices i use local
Since it doesn't take account of regional specific vendors of a lot of local areas it does support
But yeah using local prices is the best practice
Hellhound 9060 here is like 600 bucks cus yippeee
That changes the context entirely tbh
We love 18% tax and long shipping times
Is the used market stronger than the new market where you are?
no
Either some genius putting a 3070 at 5070 prices or some chad who actually knows what hes doing (rare case)
eh price to performance will be higher here anyways
Best bet is to either yolo it, buy the expensive stuff in the tax free zone or just buy second hand
Can try to order from abroad but have fun
Well the annoying thing is
The budget gpu bracket practically doesn't exist anymore
We're really at a point where $300+ for a gpu is "budget"
just add 150 dollars to everything and enjoy
💀
A 7600 8gb is 412 dollars 🔥
Msrp is 270
add 18% in tax and shipping fees ig
@plucky timber I’ve having red and yellow lights when booting a newly build pc
And it’s not booting
I can send u the list and pics of the pc if u can help
I recommend for anyone looking to do a pc build to take a look at the Intel and AMD deal list I've just posted.
#tech-deals message
first time assembling or new cpu? If so, clear the CMOS and give it about 10m to train the ram.
If issues persist, try 1 stick of ram at a time in different ram slots.
New build
Do I look up a tutorial on how to clean cmos?
Oh
What motherboard? Some boards have a Clear CMOS button by the IO (usbs) if not, you can clear it by removing the CMOS battery typically in the bottom left corner or shorting the CMOS Pin.
It’s the msi b650 S WiFi
On the io shield there’s a button that says flash bios
Is that it?
Do i unplug the power supply then press?
No that is not it.
On your motherboard, do you see the round battery, it looks like a watch battery
Yes
Yea we have it
How do we get it out
Should have a little lever/spring
No?
Yes.
Press that down to release the battery then remove it carefully not to scratch it.
Not necessary but a chopstick or piece of plastic helps.
Fingers can touch the battery
Once removed, with the pc still powered off press the power button once or twice and give the board about one minute to ensure it forced the CMOS to clear.
Can’t figure out how to actually get it out
Press the lever to the side if downwards is not working. it takes a good bit of pressure and the battery might need a little nudging.
Carefully use a screw driver or something thin and hard to press that lever down then use your fingers to grab the battery.
Is it the black tab with the indent in the middle
Yes.
If it really can't come out, look up how to jump the CMOS pins. Jumping them is the same, keep the pc powered off and plugged into a outlet then touch the two pins using a piece of metal to short it. But make sure your short the correct pins which are placed in a different location by product.
My dad said he’s not gonna do that
Then you will need to figure out a way to remove that cmos battery.
It's EASY and I will show you how to reset the BIOS and clear CMOS in ONE minute if you can no longer get into the BIOS (no POST, Black Screen, no display).
One note on turning off the system. If you are going for the battery removal, you want it to be completely off (and ideally disconnected, at this point you can also hold down the power butt...
Yep
Looking to reset your BIOS and don't know how? Check out this tutorial to find out exactly how to clear your CMOS!

What’s that flash bios thing do
It's to update your motherboard's firmware if you can't get it to boot into the bios.
So do u think that’s an issue or no
What cpu?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Radeon RX 9060 XT, SAMA SV01 ATX Mid Tower
Shouldn't be an issue, but I do strongly recommend updating it.
Yea I’m gonna sleep in it and try tmmr
Glad it's resolved.
ty!
@gentle pollen another issue. There’s no WiFi comming up when I booted windows so I have to download the drivers but do I download the latest bios or somthing else?
For the msi b650-S WiFi
You’ll download the BIOS and drivers.
Alr
Hi guys, I bought this prebuilt around a year ago, and I think its time to upgrade some parts. What is the best thing to upgrade first? The ram right? https://www.bestbuy.com/site/cyberpowerpc-gamer-master-gaming-desktop-amd-ryzen-7-8700f-16gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-rtx-4060-8gb-2tb-ssd-black/6593747.p?skuId=6593747
Depends on your budget
How about around $400-500 for upgrades?
I mean
Are you running out of ram?
Do you have a single or two sticks?
Ram is pretty much the only thing you can upgrade
The whole pc is pretty terrible so you can't really get any decent upgrades without spending a crap load of money
Motherboard is not taking an X3D that's for sure
Gpu...
While a gpu upgrade would be of enormous benefit
The GPU market is on fire right now
Plus you might have to factor in a power supply
If you want a substantial upgrade you're looking at ~$1000
Which is pretty close to a new computer
The best thing you could do is upgrade ram and storage on this computer
Anything else is a money pit (quite literally better to just build a new pc, might even be around the same price)
I'd wait a year or two before doing any substantial upgrades
To elaborate, prebuilts are generally cheap as hell despite their price tag, making upgrading one a "pain in the ass" since the motherboard and power supply are generally too garbage to take anything better
