Interesting
The metal panels are no longer smooth
I think they are lighter too
Maybe
Fingerprint magnet tho
Oh you can already see the prints on the fist picture

My nr200 dusty
I have one AIO p14 pulling in from the side
There's no room for the second P14
nr200 is airflow on every side but the front :3
We tried hard to make Cooler Master's Q500L case perform well, but we just couldn't pull it off. The Q500L is one of the worst thermal performers we've ever tested.
Ad: Buy Gigabyte's Intel Z390 chipset Master motherboard (http://geni.us/eIQnI on Amazon)
Article:
Find the Cooler Master Q500L on Amazon: https://geni.us/GWWqJ
Find the micro-ATX...
Yeah the Qx00L cases are the ones with crap airflow

Should I put intakes at the top? Theoretically for airflow on the VRMs. Weird config but I thought I'd ask
Since you have the gpu vertical it would be the best to have bottom + rear intake and top exhaust
Bottom intakes are tight 🫠
Weird question
Have you guys ever heard of a pc shutting down sometimes when the AC kicks on?
power load is probably screwed
I’m wondering if that killed my other gpu because I switched them and it ran fine until around 9 when I was playing csgo and the ac kicked on it just shut off completely
And before on occasion it would make my monitor blank for maybe 3 seconds
Figure I’ll just grab a UPS and hope that works
It could be the AC kicking on causing a load that drops the voltage to a point where uvp protections on the PSU kicks in
UPS would help in a case like that
cooked
Morning all , want to get a SSD for my dads pc . He’s running hDD and want to speed it up . He does not have an m2 slot . Is this a decent one . Also is it difficult to move the operating system over ?
Price?
These ssds are cheaper
I'd say the SP A55 is solid
Reason why PSU intake faces the inside of the PC
I have extra fans. I should just experiment lol
Almost the same 49.99 ! And ships with prime
QLC is pretty slow, just keep that in mind
My pc randomly died while running wouldn’t display gpu no power and cpu and dram light were on messed around with ram sticks in each slot nothing swapped the mobo cuz i got tired of waiting now the dram light stays on dram light will blink off as it’s off the cpu light comes on and still no gpu power
Try resitting the gpu in its slot and you could attempt to remove the CMOS for about 3-5 minutes and place it back on the board.
Mobo is fresh outa the box and gpu been doing this since before the mobo swap too
That means something is wrong with your GPU seeing that its consistent
Psu doesn’t intake from there
It intakes from where the fan is
And you can have 25s on the bottom
I would still say bottom in top out
Because the top intake could fight the gpu and psu exhaust
That’s where the fan is lol
Well there is still a small gap if you had the psu facing in our out in this scenario, I would still have it face towards the side panel anyway because there is still some kind of gap for cooler air to come in
Nah the top is the exhaust
Oh gotcha
And it seems that if you had bottom intake the fans would also be closer to the cpu cooler
The motherboard is lower because of the vertical mount
Just put brand new ram sticks in and same bs
Anyone have any ideas
Ahhh so I just looked this up and had no idea about that ! Thank you so get SLC correct ?
For consumers, TLC is the best fit
faster than QLC, still affordable and at high capacities
most modern consumer SSDs use a pSLC cache while the storage is natively TLC
the pSLC cache gives you much better burst performance
What 100-200 dollar used gpu is the best ptp as of right now I was looking at some rx5700xt
you could probably find a 3060/6600/6650xt, maybe a 4060 on your local facebook
Yeah I think so
Just make sure the socket is good
You have a 7800x3d tho so no point of swapping to it unless you gonna use that in another system

I might actually thinking of putting it in a build then selling it what gpu would be a good pair with the cpu you think that is a little more on the cheaper side like 200-250
If I could get a 3080 for 300 should I go for that?
Probably
Has less vram but doesn’t matter for older games
Plus you can use dlss 4 as a cope
Well I’m not gonna use this pc probably gonna sell it so I will stick to the 6700xt I remember when I had mine it was a absolute beast until my cat puked on top of my computer and it seeped through my radiator at the time and it got directly on the pcb
Sad times
But now I’m thinking on how I’m gonna cool this 12900kf
Well the 3080 is faster and whoever will use it is probably gonna use dlss
If you find one at a good price
Get it
I might just use the same cooler I have on my 7800x3d
There are some cheap thermalright aio coolers for 45
Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO
I use this one right now
It does wonders
Or should I go with the aio?
It does make the pc look nicer
I don’t understand how this is ~55
https://a.co/d/a1Z49vi
Yeah I was just looking at this one https://a.co/d/8wpFG6Z
I guess I would go with the aio as most people look for looks not performance
Cause Thermalright is the best brand
Great prices and performance
let me post build on social media pages plsss
Huh
check dm
I broke my oled monitor, I dont know if I should go with 1440p or 4k or just not a oled at-all if I keep on breaking them, I have a 9800x3d and a 7900xt and I would like it to be under 27 inch
how did you break it?
I tap it with a zipper on a pouch, and it now has a circle of dead pixel in the lower left area
Hello all! Im new to the PC world and I wanna build my own first set up. Problem is i dont know where to start. I will use it for heavy gaming, twitch streaming, and content creating.
hey! whats your budget, country, and define heavy
Well id have to buy a piece a week with each check because i live check to check so saving up is difficult. Im in the US. Like daily gaming.
well... id try saving up to a set amount
what games would you be playing
GTA, Farming sim, Minecraft, Supremacy, COD, and other games. I def want a good storage size. I had a 1tb for my xbox
so not super demanding games
the storage part is easy, how much do you think you could reasonably save?
Its hard to say. Im a seasonal union worker.
hmmm... would smth like 1k sound sorta reasonable?
It would take me a long while to get.
I was gonna get one from Best Buy cuz i do got a credit card through them. @fallen sphinx
oh a prebuilt?
Well maybe the parts to build one.
they got really bad prices on almost anything
you could... maybe get a gpu from them?
My only issue with a pre built is it wont do what i want it to. @fallen sphinx
yeah thats fine, i dont recomend prebuilts either way
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/xfx-swift-amd-radeon-rx-9060xt-16gb-gddr6-pci-express-5-0-gaming-graphics-card-black/6632946.p?skuId=6632946
is this in stock at the store near you?
and what price would it be
I could to try to save up but itll take a long while. Thats why i was fixing to buy a piece each week with a check.
thatll work too
My struggle is i dont know what to buy first, how i can find out what components fit what. Im not a computer tech.
i can send you a list with all the parts
That could help. My buddy recommends i buy stuff from New Egg which im down to do. That part i couldnt tell if its at my store or not.
newegg/amazon would be the best to buy from
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gqb3XR
heres what i made
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, Radeon RX 9060 XT, Montech AIR 903 BASE ATX Mid Tower
Could I always update parts in the future for better performance or would i have to buy a whole other kit
@fallen sphinx
yeah you def can
cpu can be upgraded a lot, that board can support the current best gaming cpu, and the gpu is as easy as buying a new one and selling the old one. the psu is good enough for most cards, maybe not the 5090 type stuff but those are scams anyway
Okay
wait do you need a monitor/keyboard/mouse
Yes
do you want 1080p or 1440p monitor
I guess the 1440p would be better?
alr
I mean idk what do they go for?
ya ok
im coming from console, Ive never played keyboard and mouse, i have heard that xbox controllers can be used, is that true?
they can, you just need to have a keyboard and mouse for non gaming
and tbh i like keyboard and mouse better for gaming
Okay. Ive been on console my whole life so switching up is gonna be interesting
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, Radeon RX 9060 XT, Montech AIR 903 BASE ATX Mid Tower
wait you said youre gonna be streaming
Yes Twitch streaming, gaming daily, playing multiplayer online
ok id get a cheap second monitor
Could I use a small tv (HDMI) and monitor together?
I got a big desk. I also got a mic its a Blue Yeti
oh shoot nice i was thinking about getting that one
i think my dad has that one too
Ya i bought it thinking i could use it for console. Bur couldn't its just sitting in my closet gathering dust
well thats good
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mP8GMC
heres the full list
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, Radeon RX 9060 XT, Montech AIR 903 BASE ATX Mid Tower
you could save money with like worse cpu and worse gpu, but if youre just gonna buy it over time id recommend this as long as you can still live lmao
@fallen sphinx this is a great set up for live streaming games? Ill buy a camera another time
oh yeah fs
Great. Thanks for helping me. I dont need something thats top of the line. Just something great to get me started
Goes hard
yeah thisll be great for years to come, and when its time to upgrade it can upgrade to a MUCH better pc
Right on im excited
just be warned, and ive had this happen to me, buying the parts over a long time WILL make it feel less exciting
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, Radeon RX 9060 XT, Montech AIR 903 BASE ATX Mid Tower
that ssd is REALLY good + has dram cache for only 20$ more than the other one, can help with video editing which it sounds like you may do
Cloud approved
@fallen sphinx ok could i get 2 of the ASRocker monitors?
you could? but clarity on second monitor doesnt matter, its only for like yt or discord or twitch chat
Ok i gotcha.
@fallen sphinx dont i gotta have a operating system?
oh yeah
so windows is only like 6$
unless you buy legit, which i heavily recommend to not
So i dont buy one from the part picker?

Hold up
Gonna optimize it
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, Radeon RX 9060 XT, Lian Li Vector V100 ATX Mid Tower
Shaved $3 off for a better motherboard
Asrock revisions are still sussy
It's a 9600X
A guy had an a620 kill his 7600x
🤨
What's the sample size on that
Although for some reason there seems to be less deaths with b650 boards
So far we only have consistent data on 9800X3D failures
9800X3D is the only CPU confirmed to be consistently dying on asrock
I'd argue you shouldn't put a 7600x in any a620 anyways
Because of the crappy vrms
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, Radeon RX 9060 XT, Lian Li Vector V100 ATX Mid Tower
Ssd revision
Down to $1386.55
I'd argue the 850w isn't necessary but like
It's so cheap there's no point penny pinching
@gaunt plume Did anyone ask if you live near a microcenter?
Idk what is a microcenter?
@gaunt plume slightly edited list
imagine a store for pc building
Basically just optimized it a bit
except this - don't listen to their recommendations, they're still salesman
For better price/performance
Yeah just buy their parts
if they tell you to buy a noctua cooler or some random part, they may be right
but it's not right for 80-100$
They're gonna throw corsair in an nzxt case
or recommend you to keep it cool with all lian li
and get a lian li cooler, lian li fans, etc
just rule 1. Don't listen to the salemans
$10 difference here, $10 difference there
Adds up to a couple hundred dollars for absolutely no performance gain
If I was sales at mc they would put me into some improvement program because I would be tryng to save people money

I'd be a terrible salesman
@manic cloak ya i got one in my city
oh which one?
I'd be good running the company because I'd undercut the hell out of the competition
With price/perf
putting morals aside to do that stuff
Actually now I think about it
The competition can just throw in crap psus
Could always get on GN's good side
Free promotion
do you know which one?
it'll show us availability
Like what store?
Well there's more than 1 microcenter. Which city microcenter is it? Also what's your thoughts on refurbished and open box?
Cause each one has a different amount of items available
asrock just aint it rn
What about open box? 95% of the time it's just a returned item & is tested by microcenter on whether it works or not, otherwise they sell it at a cheaper price.
also does the ssd you put have dram and fast speeds?
Ehh idk.
microcenter is kinda.. eh on the lower end deals
that's your assumption on deals
and that's what most people see
the bundles
I see the open box and refurbished sales they have
320$ for a 9600x + 16gb ram
270 if you can live with an ASUS prime... but i wouldnt
well it's upto the microcenter but mine is able to swap out the board as long as it's same price, cheaper, or pay the difference..
it's alot of work though for that
if it was one item like the motherboard then ya that's fine
like I could have an atx case but don't want a microatx
no
i mean literally buy an extra 16gb ram stick
seperate
that's like $50 though
you might aswell ask them to "swap it" and pay the difference
which is going to be like $35 instead
Plus you would remove the possibility of separate batch ram
just get the 7700x bundle
If you swap put the board it'd be another $10 cheaper so
its gonna end up being the same cost
microcenter accepts returned ram btw, and doesn't open box or refurb it either.
Either they send it back or call it new which would be messed up
@manic cloak so why do i need to know about this store?
when i returned my 9700x bundle they marked it with what was broken and put it on a clearance shelf
What exactly is the problem with asrock aside from the 9800X3D failures anyways?
basically they're the store for PC parts
Right on
usually the board
I mean would it be better for him to have a 7600x3d or a 7700xx
50$ difference
Eh
Is he even going to benefit from 3D V-cache that much
Compared to having more cores
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, Radeon RX 9060 XT, Lian Li Vector V100 ATX Mid Tower
$1376 with the msi
The vrms were actually better than I thought on this board
2x6+2+1 on a $129 board
Might even be able to put an X3D on this thing
the 3d cache would more than help out for minecraft
Although I wouldn't push it
Eh
What is the use case exactly
What is the price difference
it's cheap case but no fans
I wouldn't want to install fans on my first build
Show the machine
would be headache
this case would need fans
yes
3 but no exhaust, 6 to be safe
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, Radeon RX 9060 XT, Montech AIR 903 BASE ATX Mid Tower
Back to $1381
@gaunt plume were you looking for a big or small case btw?
like I know you had an xbox, but we need to know if you got desk space.
I can send you a pic
I feel like you can't get much cheaper than this without gimping out on parts
Well there's the psu
go ahead
he doesn't want to buy refurb or open box sadlyt
But that's penny pinching for no reason
I meant that he can go down to a 650w
But why do that for $10
nah
he could get the corsair refurb 750e for 69.99
See thats what I dont like about psus
Almost like you get upsold to get the better one because of better value
Plus this thing is $89
Great find by @fallen sphinx
Actually a really solid psu too
Its 59 1/2 long by 29 1/2 wide
Floor
you'd have to rearrange your whole desk buy ya we'll be able to put a big case on there
I dont think a big case is going there
I already plan to move my tv
If you replace the tv
Yeah
You can fit most of it
With the monitor arm you'd have plenty of space
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/fc88TW/montech-xr-atx-mid-tower-case-xr-b
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/2MwmP6/montech-air-903-max-atx-mid-tower-case-air-903-max-b I mean which case would you prefer? @gaunt plume
Or you can scroll through this list and see - Just make sure to set it to Brentwood from Shipping only
Are the cases cheaper at MC?
the XR is.
how much is it?
69.99 vs 75 lol
they also have the XR wood..
I guess
can you shave money off other parts tho
feels like there's not much cost savings here
It's mostly aesthetic changes
I'm just waiting till 12am
every 15 mins they update the website listings, 12am it's like black friday opening
👍
did you want RGB btw or no?
Ya i like the lights.
c5 or c8 fron antec
hi does anyone know a good budget for a pc that can get me at least 120fps on AAA games? i was thinking of starting with $1200 and it's gonna be used to stream as well + micro-atx build
@gaunt plume https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9tGQnp
Just a few things with this list: Your Microcenter is "out" of the 7/9600x bundle. It's all because that crappy motherboard that comes with the bundle is out, so there's a big chance that you can simply swap it out for another one. This is if you ever go: Try for the B650-E Tuf Gaming Wifi and try going for the open box version if allowed, which is around $88, they do test it btw and make sure nothing is broken. If they don't charge you extra, great now with the RAM (it's a single stick called the X5) try getting it swapped out for the one on the list and ask if the difference can be paid due to the cheaper motherboard, if not make sure they charge you only 41.99 (the 2x16 is91.99, subtracted by the 1x16 which is $50)
The case is 69.99 at microcenter/cheaper compared to online, the graphics card you will have to price match. GET THE 16gb model, not the 8gb. The LG monitor you can pick up at microcenter for same price.
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, Radeon RX 9060 XT, Montech XR ATX Mid Tower
Ok
@manic cloak imma stick with my original list only cuz i really don't trust refurbished or pre-owned, idgaf what the guarantee is for shit to work. Thats just me. I been screwed over on similar situations for welding machines and other industrial equipment.
@manic cloak could I update the graphics card on this to the 16gb? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nG2PDj
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, Radeon RX 9060 XT, Montech AIR 903 BASE ATX Mid Tower
it already is
Ah ok.
@manic cloak what would happen if i put 4 of those DDR5-6000 CL30 memory into the MSI Pro B650-s wifi atx am5 motherboard?
You don’t need 64gb of ram, plus you’ll have really slow ram.
32gb is more than enough
Just a curious question
Current ryzen memory controllers are not fast and having 4 sticks adds extra load onto it, so you wont be able to maintain your current speeds if you have more sticks
That Ryzen 6core processor pretty powerful to run online multiplayer games while streaming?
You'll be using your gpu encoder for that
But yeah it can encode video just fine
Compared to my 5600, the 9600x is like 55% faster in multicore workloads
I can record av1, which is really demanding and have no problems
But I still recommend you use your gpu for streaming since it has a dedicated video encoder
And something good about the 9060 xt
Or any 9000 card
They improved h264 encoding on it by a lot, so you should have pretty good quality as well
Im being forced by all my friends to come to PC and nothing you said made any sense lol. Im a traffic technician. Tryna learn computers
All good
Basically the gpu has a part of it that is dedicated to encoding video, so its better to use the gpu for streaming
Okay
And just that the card you are getting has much better quality for all kinds of video
Ya ill be Twitch streaming and making content for Instagram

What about upping the processor to a Ryzen 7 9800X3D
@snow dragon
From the Ryzen 5 9600 3.9 GHz 6-core
@manic cloak
@snow dragon would it cause issues if i did?
Nah nothing bad would happen its just that you wont get the whole $480 of performance out of it, in my opinion at least
Your gpu will be doing the heavy lifting for streaming. The cpu still handles some work for streaming but its not that much
What runs the online gaming?
Assuming you have it set up to where the gpu does the encoding
With the list i have, is the GPU gonna do the encoding?
If you set it up to do so, yeah
Any gpu can do it, you just have to set up obs to use it
Plus
With the games you'll be playing, I think you have a very very powerful system
Sweet
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, Radeon RX 9060 XT, Montech AIR 903 BASE ATX Mid Tower
this is basically the same list but $10 cheaper
What ssd it that
Is it better than the t500 though
Is the t500 not better
Yes
wtf
could've sworn it was cheaper a second ago
oh well
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, Radeon RX 9060 XT, Montech AIR 903 BASE ATX Mid Tower
so basically
only difference is the cooler
$8 cheaper
sigh
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, Radeon RX 9060 XT, Montech AIR 903 BASE ATX Mid Tower
I guess there's the keyboard
Im good with my list. I will definitely be upgrading in the future though
Hey guys
Just looking to see the performance on laptops with only a 12700h and how it is on battery
Laptop has a 50wh battery
General note taking non gaming
If thats the case then I would recommend getting a U sku
This isnt a fair comparison but my laptop has a P sku and it lasts like 2 hours of usage lmfao
Is the performance AWFUL? Coming from a 13650hx 4060 laptop that lasts like 3hrs with its gpu off and low power settings
If you want battery life, go for for Ryzen AI 300 series, Intel Core Ultra, or Snapdragon X
or a macbook
what everyones opinion on the Acer brand of monitors?
Lotta solid budget options
This specifically is $500 cad.. insane deal
@fallen sphinx does all the parts come with the wires?
yup
Would anyone be willing to help me out with selecting new pc parts?
Im just trying to upgrade a few things, Im hoping to keep my gpu, ram, and storage, I just need a new psu, case, mobo, cooler, and fans
Budget? Current specs?
mmm preferably less than $600 usd
Currently looking to retain:
4060 Ti 8gb
32 GB Corsair Vengeance ram
500 GB ssd and 1tb HDD (cannot remember brands)
Complete specs please
yes one sec
and cpu*
ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB Twin Edge DLSS 3
Intel i7 10700f
Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200mhz 8x4
EVGA 600w 80+ Gold psu
Asrock b460m pro4/ac mobo
1 Tb unknown HDD and 500 gb unknown ssd
@plucky timber is that good?
I mean
the ram is atrocious
but since you already have it
no point in replacing it if it's stable at xmp
Yes I agree lol, it was a prebuilt I bought 4 years ago for my birthday
thats why im looking to upgrade both, unless that doesn’t make sense to do
CyberPowerPC NR640 is the case
Apparently the psu is an “GD” model, “evga 600w GD 80+ gold”
Yes
case should be alright then
psu is passable
is it the 2019 R1/V1 model by any chance?
unfortunate
that's actually the worst model out of the bunch
It's not a bomb
just a bit unfortunate
Good thing, it would be a very slowly ticking bomb considering 4 years of usage lol
so, are you more or less saying I shouldn’t be looking to do a refresh of my parts?
not per say need but I would appreciate better performance
and this is kinda a non issue but I’d like a better looking case, you know?
Plus it’s my birthday (again) lol I have money to burn

Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 9600X
Part List - Intel Core i5-14600K
Part List - Intel Core i5-14600K
here's a couple cpu upgrade options
you'd notice that most of them have ddr5
These are decently priced options that offer a decent performance increase
except for the 7800X3D
that goes overbudget but it's a 7800X3D so 🤷♂️
what do you have in mind for case swap?
any particular style you would prefer? @smoky dew
9600x might be prime choice for me just because it doesn’t take 3 years
(More than a week and a half) to arrive so I’ll honestly go with that
Something open, like those nzxt cases I see everyone drool over but it doesn’t have to be them
lel
Is the month x3 mesh one good? I saw some stuff about that one
It's cheaper than the XR
so that's a yes then
Yes
are you going to upgrade this in the future?
if I do it won’t be for another like 2 - 4 years and significantly more money will be spent
But unlikely
you can probably just plop in a 9800X3D
when the price does come down
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, Montech X3 Mesh ATX Mid Tower
yeah that price is lowkey cooked lol I’ll ill def wait
So psu and mobo should be good to just transfer then?
this
alternatively you can keep the original case
this is the case right?
Yes
Actually let me double check
yeah that's practically the same thing
Real
Am I good to go then?
and I’ve never specifically “built” a pc before so are there any tools I should buy as well
screwdriver
I wonder what happened to that company lol
they make slop articles
Good thing I already have
Building the pc is the easy part believe it or not
Parts selection is actually harder
np
Also I feel like this is stupid question but will my windows transfer over since I’m keeping the same hdd? Or will it have issues since new cpu and mobo? @plucky timber
It might be fine
it might not
Windows might decide "screw you" and self destruct in half a year
It's recommended to do a fresh install with significant hardware changes
However it's certainly possible to run an existing install without any significant issues
DDR4 is hiking, get your last upgrade when it still cheap
thats what i did
@fallen sphinx that MSI Pro B650-s Wifi motherboard, how would I connect 2 monitors to it? 2 HDMI cords?
you dont connect to the motherboard
Well how could i hook up 2 monitors opposed to 1
you use 2 cords in the gpu instead of 1
HDMI?
hmm ok, I got HDMIs laying all over the house, I think I might need to buy display port cables
monitors come with them
If any goats are available I request assistance
Wassup
About to build my pc im lowkey pooping myself
I’m doing an intel to amd swap, kept my ssd and hdd and psu and gpu
New everything else
Is there a recommended pc build video?
Linus has a pretty good one from 2024.
Should I change anything about this https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/MnYdPJ
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 9070 XT, Phanteks NV5 MKII ATX Mid Tower
@fierce heath there you go

Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Phanteks NV5 MKII ATX Mid Tower
Fixed
Thank you so is that good
Yep
Cheaper and nearly identical storage, and a cheaper and nearly identical performance cpu cooler
Okay thank you I was going to get the more expensive cooler as it the same brand with case and fans
That doesn’t matter lmao
Wouldn’t I need different software’s
Thank you so much
Ooo
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Phanteks NV5 MKII ATX Mid Tower
How’s that? I can do another if you want
I still don’t like the middle part and it’s white
So a black, 3 fan AIO?
Just so I can confirm what you’re looking for.
Is a aio the cooler?
Yeah but I want the aio rbg or smt
Yeah
I’d suggest going with a fan, personally. Then upgrading to an AIO when you can learn a bit more in depth about keeping up with the maintenance of the PC, what parts get dustier, etc etc.
Are you sure you wanna start with an AIO? Just to be 100%.
An AIO is a liquid based coolant in a closed system.
It’s normally used with a radiator that you place on the top, front, or bottom of the pc.
The difference with an AIO and a regular fan, is that AIOs have an “expiration” date. Most do not last over 5-7 years, regardless of maintenance done.
They do offer slightly better aesthetics, and some offer slightly better cooling.
Fans are often a little higher maintenance, but can last years on end if taken care of. And they offer nearly the same cooling performance.
So every 5 years I’ll replace it
AIO still has fans on it, any maintenance you'll need for an air cooler, you'll need to do the same for an AIO
That too
So basically all I need to do it’s make sure it’s not dusty
And if I’ll see a drop I’ll buy a new one
It’s not like a water cooler so I’ll be fine
Smaller air coolers aren't very good at cooling CPUs, but a decent air cooler will be fine
With so many CPU cooler types in the market now, which type is right for you?

I suggest watching this video before making a decision
Main problem with AIOs is that if the pump dies, you're kinda screwed until you replace it.
Wait I have to put water in it?
AIO are all in one, with included coolant
I’ll just take an air one
You only need to buy coolant for a custom loop
I thought that was an air one Icl
Then your best bet is the king of cooling, Thermalright Peerless Assassin SE
Can you add it on the list please
(It comes with thermal paste)
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Phanteks NV5 MKII ATX Mid Tower
I have one in my rig
And I know that several others here do as well.
I might of skipped a lot
Anyways
Basically 2-5 years if it goes bad
I’ll buy a new one
I don’t mind that
I like the look of the NZXT Kraken 360 RGB 78.02 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
It’s the screen custom
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Phanteks NV5 MKII ATX Mid Tower
Yeah again it’s really ugly I’m sorry 😭
NZXT AIOs tend to be pretty overpriced, if you want a small oled screen on the aio, thermalright has the frozen warframe
I’ll let @stoic island take over,
I like the circle shape
Better
It is a lot cheaper tho
But apart from the cooler is the pc good
Yeah
Thank you so much for the help i appreciate it
then you might like the aqua elite
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/hb9wrH/thermalright-aqua-elite-argb-v2-689-cfm-liquid-cpu-cooler-aqua-elite-360-black-argb-v2
Thermalright just has a ton of well priced options lol
Is the screen customisable?
It’s so small
Tho
if you want the display to be usable, core vision
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/b8MXsY/thermalright-core-vision-argb-7237-cfm-liquid-cpu-cooler-core-vision-360-black
That’s nice but they took the rgb out
Or does it still have it
Okay thanks
yea there's a separate core vision argb
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/6Rkqqs/thermalright-core-vision-argb-7237-cfm-liquid-cpu-cooler-core-vision-360-black-argb
pcpp mislabeled the first one, the first one was the black only one
if you want something more plain, there's this with the same freq and timings
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/4cCCmG/patriot-viper-venom-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr5-6000-cl30-memory-pvv532g600c30k
there's this for all black for the same thing but a bit more expensive
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/scFmP6/silicon-power-xpower-zenith-gaming-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr5-6000-cl30-memory-sp032gxlwu60afde
I want the same as the one list just not bumpy like that
So you want the stick to be black and RGB and without anything too fancy?
something like this?
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/Q3dG3C/adata-xpg-lancer-blade-rgb-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr5-6000-cl30-memory-ax5u6000c3016g-dtlabrbk
It's a flat line of rgb
Yeah but can I have the best brand
Can the led be a bit more to
I mean all of these 6000c30 kits are going to be hynix dies, it doesn't really matter what the brand that slaps a heatsink on it is (outside of corsair artificially limiting you)
wdym by a bit more?
Like more thick
Oh so there all the same
for 6000 c30 kits, that aren't Corsair, yea
6000c30 is just one of the presets that's known to be only achievable by hynix dies right now
Huh
samsung dies can't get timings that low, and micron can't really hit that frequency or timings rn lol
Yeah no idea what ur saying
RAM Overclocking.
not even overclocking, just what the ram itself can do
its 3 big companies making the die that goes into the ram right now (for ddr5 and available in NA/EU)
hynix micron and samsung
right now hynix makes the best stuff
hynix dies also will overclock the best rn
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Phanteks NV5 MKII ATX Mid Tower
I think
That’s fine now
The only I don’t know about is the case it looks big
Thanks guys you saved me money
One last thing is the mother board okay
b650 eagle ax is pretty decent
Okay thanks should I get a better one or keep
Okay thanks
you're welcome
id get a 9070xt unless you plan to play in 4k
xtx is only 6% better, but also like 150 more expensive, and 9000 has fsr4 and better rt
although the 24gb vram is really nice for 4k
Should I cancel and keep waiting for an msrp card? Gpu was $2759 pre tax and shipping
i hope you realize that msrp 5090 isnt happening for years
Or just don't buy it
Another discord told me bestbuy has had a few FE restocks the past month
The msrp is overpriced in the first place tbh
trve...
I'm not saying it isn't. But the writing is on the wall at this point and consumers have barely any room to have a voice since they don't matter to Nvidia anymore because of its AI market share
9090xt is looking more and more likely everyday
And AMD is always just short of being the company it needs to be
you mean cheap gpus for gamers that arent false marketed
I think this is the point where you start considering if it's really worth paying $3000 for video games
That's 2 computers worth of money
ok
But, I still like saving money if I can
if you make enough for it to not matter get a rtx 6000 lmao
Is that a combo or nah
"LOL YOU MAKE ENOUGH FOR $3K NOT TO MATTER? SPEND $10K THEN" - You
i didnt say that did i
i said if you dont care about price to perforamcne get the best

Is that a gpu and psu combo
#general-chat shenanigans going on here
thatd be a terruble combo if it was
Yea im just tryna say if you do gotta return it for whatever reason, you gotta return the psu as well if it is a combo
See
the psu is overpriced by a solid 160$
If 12vhpwr blows them both up...
@plucky timber I did the swap today, but I’m stuck in bios/bitlocker screen
Flash bios
how does one flash bios
bitlocker screen?
or 1300w evga G+ for 130
Yeah sometimes newegg prices are nutty
first I couldn’t get past bios until I put in my ssd
i thought my 130$ 850w was bad lmao
This is final price, like I said, it includes tax and shipping
i dont think tax and shipping double the price of a psu
$150 shipping or something?
The psu was $240
What do you mean by bitlocker
I’ll send pic hold on
thats 100$ overpriced
even better deal
Big guy
same price, 1300w over 1200w, better psu
I wanted atx 3.1 and pcie 5.1
Oh
but there’s no key on my ms account
Mannn
Yes
Ok you gotta put that back in and turn off bitlocker
Bitlocker is turned on by default
Free MacOS/Linux advertisement
Actually wait
So I have to dismantle this entire build then reassemble the old build and reassemble
Is this an amd platform
What the heck
What was the last cpu
Brutal
10700F
Make sure you get a laptop out of the dumpster and install puppy Linux on it
Just manifest one out of thin air like I did :^)
I mean what
Microsoft needs to fix their crappy OS
This isn't a real product
Where is the real windows 11
This is the successor to windows vista
Ok so get the intel cpu and put the cpu and cooler on it and plug in the connectors outside the case so you dont gotta dismantle everything
Not windows 10
Put the drive in
If your windows key hasn't been tied to your Microsoft account, you're not going to be able to find your recovery key through your Microsoft account
Microsoft is ran by an entirely different group of people that don't know how to code
Just gotta go back and turn off the security settings
And are the same kind of people that destroyed the Google search engine so you'd have to view more ads
I don't use google
?????
Not a combo
Oh ok
I'd just get a different psu
id get a new psu then
Explain why
the one you bought is overpriced?
The century II posted earlier is also ATX 3.1 for more than $100 cheaper
Ima need tips on that brother
Did u see what i was sayin
That psu is just as overpriced as the gpu
Just have the board out the case with the cooler on top and cables plugged in
All you gotta do is turn off bitlocker
Both 2x of what it's worth
is clean install an option
This is the better option
Do you need the data
Because windows will not know what is going on when switching platforms
No I was gonna wipe everything after I booted anyway
Yeah just do a fresh install
I have to do that with an usb or something don’t I?
Yes
Yeah download the iso
Its faster than getting the installation media and then waiting for it to install itself
I’d literally rather that
Iso downloads and then boot to it
🤨
what
Is it possible to command prompt it through the recovery screen to download it? I know this sounds stupid
Missing a couple steps here
Well you cant access windows anyway because of bitlocker
Yeah you gotta get something like rufus or ventoy and then put the iso on it
Yeah ventoy
Microsoft
Nah
🙂
So it’s expected that it tells me “there was an error resetting your pc” everytime I try?
when I’m in the recovery screen it gives me the option to wipe my pc
With or without data saved
thats 400$

if you wanna waste money why not get smth thatll actually help with performance
#general-chat has escaped containment
fellas online freak out about psu price, say to get a cheaper and better one
spends double the price
Honestly
Based I respect it

Christ. I spent an extra $100 on a psu that has two of the 12v 2x6 connectors
Im just messing around
why does nvidia even use that connector 😭
Because it's fake
I'm almost certain there's a psu with the same specs that's not overpriced
Probably
(montech century II)
Who manufactures it
There's lots of respectable name psus 1200w 3.1 compliant for $200
theres respectable name psus 1200w 3.1 compliant for 130
Well, I guess I'll have to double mortgage my house to cover the 100 then
I narrowed it down to 3 psus
Corsair, nzxt or msi
🤨
why waste money and gain nothing
No superflower
thats genuinely one of the best psu makers why not them...

I have a superflower psu
I didn't care how their 1300w 3.1 psu performed in tests. One of the rails failed
which one...
I’m doing this rn
was it Leadex III Gold UP ATX 3.1 (GE)

^
The montech is way better than that
Tell you what
^
You buy me the psu and ill use it
Enermax D.F2 1,200W is A tier and $138 on Amazon.
fyi the only ATX V3.1 Leadex iii is the Gold Up one
and uh brand wise basically everything listed is manufacturered by CWT so
good lineup for 1800$ cad? https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/pdYXqH
$654
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 5070, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
alternatively
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, Radeon RX 9070 XT, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
what did u change
optimized most of the parts
they're better priced
same performance for less
oh i forgot to mention that the cpu, gpu, ram, and motherboard is bundled
so i can't change those
what's the price of the bundle
1400 cad
for just those parts?
@snow dragon LETS GET MARRIED THANK YOU THANK HOU THANK YOU
1022 usd
yeah its the best i can find
may I suggest spending the money on the gpu instead
Which is this list essentially
is 5070 not good enough?
