The unironic answer: because Nvidia makes cheap GPUs at a wildly marked up price. Why even bother giving a GPU 8GB if their main marketing is in AI, which requires at a bare minimum of 12? That’s beyond me. I guess at least their current lowest tier option is 12GB. Even then, I don't find it to be enough (coming from a 4070 Super owner)

They also maybe a 4060 Ti with 16GB. If you asked me though, it's more for AI than it is gaming. Even then, you'd probably have a better experience using LLMs with AMD's new cards that will be releasing soon, along with a better gaming experience

The only downside to those options is the vram, 1440p likes more than 8gb (and a good few games at 1080p now)

But the 1080 ti and 3060 are about 30% worse than a 3060 ti. That performance diff is much bigger than the 3-4gb of vram in most games

ive about 3,319.5 hours in tarkov. I had an easier time playing the game until lighthouse and streets. I just cant run those maps enough for gunfights.

I tired M-flashing my bios for the first time. I used Rufus to reformat my usb into FAT32

(It’s a 64 Gb usb)

I extracted the files, m flashed, and then came abck to the bios screen for some reason.
