No you can use the same account you currently use
WIndows should be tied to an account with no reactivation needed at sign in
my key is actually from my old cyberpower prebuilt
Oh you're fine
but its been fine
how do i start the process of uninstalling windows
this makes me really nervous idk how to do this stuff
If you just boot from a USB with windows I believe you can reinstall that way
Are you against wiping the drive?
i just dont know what to do i dont understand how i can be having these issues from changing a fan and reseating an aio
im on my pc with wifi still typing
Wait, "reseated aio". Did you remove the CPU block and replace it?
i took the whole thing out and back in when i was swapping my fan
Have you checked CPU temperature at all while things are running?
yes
theyve been fine
its holding at like 50c rn
would that windows thing of done anything
my pc updated when i restarted it last night i think
Just lost wifi sitting on desktop, device manager isn’t detecting my wifi card
Idfk anymore
Get the alternate card from Bacca, install it, test it.
How can you upgrade a Windows license that is tied to your account?
Like move from Home to Pro
I think you just put in a Pro key
Oh, you can do it on the Microsoft Store
Learn how to upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro or Windows 11 Home to Windows 11 Pro, including how to use a valid product key or the Microsoft Store.
Temu is selling Mx-6 for very.. cheap prices.
Like 8g for 6$??
Do I sell my soul to Temu is the true question though
idk if i would trust that though lmao
they're probably just gonna send some generic paste
Probably but I’ve actually had some good shop encounters on Temu though
Just their marketing is very foreign
the thing is, mx 6 is a propritary formula by arctic, a german company (though produced in hong kong)
why would temu have stock to sell for that cheap?
Because it's cheap knock off stuff
It said it would arrive in a week, which is kinda faster than what amazon has for it rn
Arctic has had issues with fakes in the past
Not surprised w that
That's why Arctic puts the QR code on the package now that helps verify it's real
what about mx4
"Discontiuned" when I clicked on it
strange
are there no other listings for it?
mx4 and mx6 are the current in production pastes from arctic
MX5 was the discontinued one
^
Any lights on the motherboard? Red lights on the GPU?
Idk if I’m just a idiot but
nope
I seen a blue light tho
What motherboard
Oh, we talking old school hardware. Still rocking a GTX 970 in my wife's PC lol
Does the motherboard have an HDMI slot?
If so, remove the GPU and plug the HDMI into the motherboard and try and boot
Monitor doesn't have a VGA input?
I have a feeling the BIOS is defaulting to the iGPU and that's why no image
It does
Do you have a VGA cable? monitor should have come with one if you have a cable stash or the box still
nope!!!!!
Ima buy a vga cable and see if it works
If I don’t buy one
Lend me one
I'd say borrow one from someone if you can
You gotta know someone that has one laying around lol
But I'll bet the output is using that instead of the GPU until you change the BIOS
Ya, until you go in and change the Video Output to Discrete from integrated
If it doesn't, you know where to find us 🙂
where do I find u guys at
Wait I decided to sell my pc for a car
So I can get a better job and get a better pc
But I don’t wanna sell it and it don’t show display
@opaque hearth Yw
thanks
i dont think most brick and mortar stores stock vga cables anymore? at least i havent seen one on display for like years at this point
even dvi seems rare to see on shelves
@mossy venture $500 limit, guy needs 16GB of ram, and have something capable of hitting 100FPS in fortnite.
Couldn’t this just be a used build with a 3600 and a 5500xt?
id try for better than a 5500xt, but ye
5700xt should easily be doable
if not 5600xt/2060/1080 or similar
Got it chief
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 3600, GeForce GTX 1080, Montech X3 Mesh ATX Mid Tower
@mossy venture ?
Meant to put 1080ti but whatever
Put 32 in for him cuz he doesn’t want to upgrade it in the future
Just the other parts
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 3600, GeForce GTX 1080, SAMA ARGB-Q5 MicroATX Mini Tower
lmao ive done that
Hey guys my gf the same one whos pc is always crashing on games is having sound issues on all of her browsers
Every browser she uses doesnt have sound and doesnt allow her to hear anything
How can she fix this
Not even on headsets can she hear anything
Shes trying to install FireFox to see if that browser works when it comes to audio
and it is working, but every other browser doesnt let her hear anything
Do you guys have a soundcard?
For the crashes if you have NVIDIA you go into there and update your drivers and AMD do the same. That will probably help you there.
Soundcard? Is this the early 2000s lmao
I still have mine.
Only the browsers don't have sound? Or the whole system doesn't?
Wait
Firefox has sound
Huh.
I believe it does?
I could only imagine that for whatever reason, the other browsers are set to output on a different speaker?
Idk what else would cause this
Maybe even a system reboot could fix it
Only the browsers
It does nothing
I think it’s her ram
She only has 8gb
Ram doesn’t do anything
It’s the only thing I can think off
Ram speeds up possessing time
Are you updated with your drivers?
Still nothing
What GPU does she have?
1650 Súper
CPU?
Ryzen 5 3500
Well I haven’t had any
Sound drivers must be missing or something
That’s what I was thinking
As for the crashes, it could be that there's not enough ram
8 gigs is barely enough for anything on windows
Yeah I was thinking this for the sound issue
But the thing is
Everything else has sound
It’s just her browsers that don’t play any sound
I made her try to update her drivers but they where up to date (unless they where for the wrong thing)
I'd reinstall those problematic browsers
Windows 11 up to date
She did but they didn’t do anything
So she installed fire fox
outdated or malfunctioning drivers
And it’s the only one that has sound
You probably have some malfunctioning drivers
Yeah hold up
Cause I think the drivers I made her try to update where for the devices and not the oc
Pc*
Should I upgrade my i7-9700k to an AMD 7 AMD Ryzen™ 7 7800X3D
definitely would be an upgrade
Damn
Next gen is so soon I'd wait personally
Next gen will still use the AM5 socket tho, right?
Yes but 7000 series may get some discounts also
guys I have an i5-9400f and 1660s, and I get lots of drop frames from Overwatch. I play on the lowest settings, and I get around 200+ FPS but still drop frames idk if it's from the CPU or not
Yes, yes it is
Cap your fps at something like 144-180 or something like that
Could also be ram, id close unnecessary background applications
(This doesn't mean go through closing random things, there are windows processes that are needed mixed in there.)
I am capping the fps at 600 in game so it gives me 200 fps or down to 140 then 15 fps and it is not opening any application that requires a CPU it's just like that always I tried even closing all the apps but still drop frame
Cap the fps to 144-180
Capping at 600 does literally nothing
I tried capping it at that range but still got the same drops
Limit the fps, and download hwinfo64 to view cpu and ram usage
It's more accurate than task manager
There's a bug in task manager that pops up once in a while where it shows the CPU at 100% all the time, but that's because it forgets to count idle time. So for that reason you want to avoid it. Plus it's just awful at reading GPUs.
I got MSI Afterburner Will it do?
Will the boot light disappear after I boot into windows?
Probably not. Some do some don't. Most don't
Someone told me that if I set my settings to epic instead of low, then my GPU will take over and I will have less CPU usage, and then the drop frame will go is that right?
Partially
Epic settings would probably do more harm than good, but low settings likely isn't doing you any favors
????
Yes
The lower you peg the settings the more stress you will pin on the cpu
And nowadays cpu intensive games like this will kick a 9400 around quite easily
It did thankfully everything is working fine but Roblox isn’t opening it said "The instruction at 0x00000... referenced memory at 0xFFFF.... The memory could not be read. Click on OK to terminate the program."
hi everybody quick question
for the Asus DUAL GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER 12 GB Video Card
is there a difference from the white to the black color performance wise?
No
Yup
Didn't think a 1660 super would handle Allat but I guess I overestimated overwatch
Overwatch hits the 600fps frame cap on like even the low end gpus now
Ya quick look at benchmarks it's doing 300 fps on 1080p low with 200 lows
Mb
1660ti handles Skyrim + 200+ texture mods at like 140 fps
Those are solid cards
Ur fine
We been around each other for years at this point
💀
I'm not here to grill
do u think I should use this setting from the Nvidia app?
I only use the nvidia app for driver updates
im getting a pc for the first tine can anyone helo me get the right parts
you gotta specify a budget, and also what country you're in for somebody to help lmao
usa and prob under 1500
whole setup for 1.5k? or just the tower
tower
you know, actually it might not be the best time to build a new pc currently since new hardware is going to be released soon (which usually means discounts on the prev gen hardware, and/or better value new generation stuff) so you might want to wait 2 months?
maybe wait for bacca or someone to give their opinion lmao
okay
@dusky hearth I’d still suggest building one.
New hardware will reduce pricing, but would still give a good idea on what to get
@sick parcel would you be buying everything immediately/very soon?
(shhh dont expose my passing on this burden to someone else since i couldnt find a premade list for 1.5k)
(I felt that)
prob soon im still making space in my room so prob in a month
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ppB2Jy
Probably something like this.
I’d still let someone else weigh in. But this is my take.
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 GRE, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 GRE, Montech XR ATX Mid Tower
AX is their “wifi” term right?
I’m still not familiar with those yet
i dont think i've ever managed to get full fat gigabit speeds wirelessly lmao
thank you
@mossy venture customer needs a 3D rendering/gaming pc for $1000.
I have 0 idea what to do for this.
Or wait
This might be @obsidian wigeon’s expertise
Or maybe Felix
I can’t REMEMBER
@cyan ravine FEETLICKS MAN
maybe change the cpu to the 7700X on that 1.5k build and change the gpu to a 7600xt?
idk what program they're using, but the x3d chips dont improve 3d rendering in blender or such afaik
It’s not for the same person lol
yeah ik
i was too lazy to look for other parts so i just based it off of an existing build conveniently like 10 messages above lol
What should I do
?
I got this screen and I smelt something from the gpu
Sorry my service is slow right now it sent before the picture
Considering that you smelled something from the gpu and this screen, a capacitor probably blew on your GPU
Or some other component
If you're still in warranty, send an rma request
welp
Could I uninstall drivers take off the gpu put it back then install drivers and it would be good?
software wont solve a hardware issue
you could try troubleshooting to see if it wasnt a hardware issue, but considering that you smelled something from the gpu, i feel like that would be a waste of time
artifacting like this is basically always a hardware issue anyways
anywhere from a gpu, connector, cable, or monitor issue
Alright
I plugged it back
It’s working but it’s not reconizgned as a gpu
No 1080p option
I will uninstall with ddu and install back
What softwares does he use
He’s wanting to get into it
I guess something like this? A used gpu would be a better choice

Part List - Intel Core i5-12600KF, GeForce RTX 4070, GameMax M60 MicroATX Mid Tower
Alright guys
Its 2008, I gotta have the greatest gaming pc of the year
What am I gonna use
I know f all about computers from that long ago
i'm looking for build help. i'm looking to upgrade to ddr5. my budget is ~$600
this is what i've got so far:
Do you just game on your pc?
Bc I'd say
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7ZWxpB
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, GeForce RTX 3080 10GB, NZXT H5 Flow ATX Mid Tower
yeah, i play vidja gamez.
htanks for input.
What GPU pairs well with a 4th gen i7? (I forget the exact cpu but I know it's a 4th gen)
Definitely would have to look at the used market
I gifted an old workstation to my friend who didn't have a PC, but he may want to play some light games (e.g. genshin) and he would likely need something more powerful than a Quadro k600
Also it doesn't have PCIe power because it's an HP prebuilt
It's not low profile so there's no worries on that front
HP prebuilts of those generations are sometimes bios locked for gpus. IE it will only work with an rx550 or something. Need to know the model number of the PC or main board info
Oh
I already gave the PC to him so there's no easy way for me to check lmao
Though at least he doesn't plan on upgrading that fast
found the model from some old emails
Dangit, need to find out what power supply is in it. GTX1050TI would work provided it's an LP slot only power card. However, some of those towers only came with a 240W PSU, some with a 400. It seems the 400W versions had a PCI-E power connector. PSU will determine what card you can run, it appears to NOT be BIOS locked
GTX1650 is also an option if the PSU is rated high enough
1650 and 1050 ti pcie powered would both be 75w so either should be fine
Not sure I'd add a GPU, even PCI-E powered to a 240W PSU.
4790's can run ~150W if they're pushed.
That's true, but with a 1050 ti/1650 it shouldn't be pushed too far
Could use throttlestop to uv
I'm hoping it has the 400W since it's a bigger sized tower
Then it's all a moot point
Fair
Keep in mind also those were released 11 years ago, things got some age on the PSU caps and such
Ye but they're also typically pretty well made surprisingly
Oem psus like that in pre builts have to be reliable
Ya, they're better quality than most of that era
it does have a quadro k600 in it, but those are like 40w gpus and the recommended psu is 200w, but idk if that means the psu is only 240w or if it's 400
This is gonna be my first pc build, hows it looking buying tmr. any feedback or part changes i should do or you recommend
Don't get corsair memory, they lock the PMIC so you can't do anything with it
wdym you cant do anythiung with it
Meaning if you're somewhat unlucky you get a stick that needs a little more voltage in order to work at XMP/EXPO settings, but you can't give it that voltage because the power management integrated circuit (pmic) is locked.
Since you picked RGB, this one https://pcpartpicker.com/product/yxjRsY/silicon-power-xpower-zenith-rgb-gaming-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr5-6000-cl30-memory-su032gxlwu60afdfsk
Better spec than that corsair kit too
The more I hear about Corsair
The more I realize that they’re a horrible company with terrible practices
There's only 2 things they make that are actually good and I can recommend, power supplies and (some) cases
dang
Also check out the phanteks xt pro ultra and montech xr for some case alternatives
^^^^
Nzxt is getting to the point of Corsair’s charging for the name, not the product
And this I could go either way on, mobo you could grab the b650 eagle ax which has 1 more nvme slot, or you could spend $15 more for the riptide wifi
$160 and $175
Gaming plus wifi is solid too, 2 nvmes is likely enough for most people anyways
pay extra for a toilet bowl design case
then liquid cool it with toilet water
So rainwater
we call that greywater in the biz
can someone help me in #old-cooling
im scared of the psu
but
it's a 4070s
should be ok i think
id def get 7500f tho
am5 better platform anyway
good enough then
Not really sure abt that
Maybe since it's such a low power cpu
Over 300w, no?
650w is compatible with 4070 super
is b450 msi carbon max wifi capped at 1g for internet speed? is there anyway I can update this
220W for 4070S
Could get a pcie wifi adapter
would it be better to just update mobo?
/Ethernet adapter, whatever's needed
That would cost a good $75 more that just getting an adapter
alright
tho idk, I might just upgrade my whole pc but do I really need it is the real question
Oh wow
Still weary of the cv but at least it's not the 550 version
May I ask why you need so much ram
gaming and programming
and under 1k
Is the programming professional level
This is what I came up with
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/HM8R7R
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6750 XT, Phanteks XT PRO ULTRA ATX Mid Tower
If the programming is heavy, I'd spend less on gpu
Smthn like
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3r7D9c
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7700, Radeon RX 7600, Phanteks XT PRO ULTRA ATX Mid Tower
what one would be good for both at the same time
bc I'm a beginner at programming and want to be good at it and I would also like to game as well
either of them will do well for light gaming and programming
my friend codes with a $300 laptop
The first one is the best for you then imo
You can always add more ram down the line, and upgrading cpu you can just grab a later gen am5 cpu down the line and drop it in
Although 9000 series is supposed to come out soon anyways, you could just wait
okay
what is a good budget motherboard recommendation for my first build - ryzen 7 7800x3d - rtx 4070 super - 32 gb of ddr5 ram
i mean im not 100 percent if its a good one but i use it on my 7800x3d
and no problems since i got it like 3-4 months ago
ASRock good
b650m pro rs wifi, eagle ax, or the one above
Anyone has a preset list for a AMD Ryzen 5 5500 for a cheap budget build
Preferably a 5600x build still but a budget like (and under 👀 ) $1000 (looking for a neat build for a friend)
Should i get the nzxt to save 10$ and buy cable extensions or keep the more expensive corsair, does it matter
At a 1000 u could get a really good build
yeh ik
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6800, SAMA ARGB-Q5 MicroATX Mini Tower
Leadex III is just as good and $80
Or msi 850 agl/thermaltake gf a3 850 for $90
A tier PSU, good one
The second are both high B tier iirc, but they're atx 3.0 unlike the former three
I was literally just about to post that link 🙂
?
Handy to have for future upgrades, but an adapter is almost as simple too
The new standard of psus, the connector a lot of 40 series uses
what is atx 3.0
what is a 3.0 psu
New power supply standard
that's a neat build, have any in atx?
so the nzxt and leadex are 3.0
I explained above
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6800, Phanteks XT PRO ULTRA ATX Mid Tower
im confused
Those do not have the connector 40 series use and would need an adapter, which is fine
Gf a3, and msi 850 agl at $90, have the connector
so they are 3.0
Leadex III 850 is just as good as the rmx and nzxt c850, it doesn't have the new connector but is $80
Yes
so the gpu slot on the psu for the nzxt and leadex do not have the right connection for a 40 series but the others do
Ah the two 3.0 ones I mentioned are oos
This is the cheapest good one at $100
And the rmx does not
But again, an adapter is safe around $20 I believe it is
It's the 12 vhpwr or something like that
What cpu/gpu are you planning to power?
the psu adapter could i get extension cables built in to make it look nice
ryzen 7 7800x3d - rtx 4070 super
If you want aesthetics I'd avoid an adapter. It tends to look messy from what I've seen
This would be fine for those
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/9GLdnQ/thermaltake-toughpower-gf-a3-750-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-ps-tpd-0750fnfagu-l
Otherwise I'd grab this 850 here
Both come with the cable
so this psu doesn't need an adapter?
General idea for a build
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KZxZN6
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, Phanteks XT PRO ULTRA ATX Mid Tower
Yep, it doesn't
so i could get that one and get some extension cables to make it look clean as well
Yeah
ok thank you so much
Also for case, checkout the montech xr, sky two, king 95, and 903 max for some other case options
I didn't realize how great montech is doing case wise until every single one of those I listed was montech lmao
Montech has been great at cases for a couple years now, really surprising
Phanteks has been consistently at least decent, fractal is overpriced and the fans are typically mediocre, in the popular choices anyways. Corsair, nzxt cases are overpriced
I love my Phanteks P500A
Gamemax, and surprisingly mangiumgear have a few decent options
I've got a p360a in white
Not my favorite thing but it's pretty easy to build in
White/black build, I bought whatever I could get at a cheap price so it's a mismatch of white/black but came out pretty decent
Black and white can look good if done right
Good to see the Phanteks AMP Revolt pro is still A tier PSU also
I've got a front mounted black radiator with white fans which I really like the look of
Insides are all black otherwise with minimal rgb
I'll get a Pic sometime
OH, that'd be cool. Shadow behind the white blades thing
Can someone help me with putting my pins in too my motherboard im kinda confused on it
RTFM or you'll get an ID10t error
well thats rude
lol
@analog hearth cmon no need to be rude considering this a warning
alright sorry
How hard would it be to make a $200 pc for a 9 year old
Used 3400g build
what does he want to do with it
very likely gaming
ebay i suppose
Correct
id definitely scout fbm and ebay
Sigh
ope
but i mean
a 9 year old on 200 bucks pc is fine
they don't need to be exposed to too many things
yeah
so having a basic pc is better
i think i just saw one on fb a couple days ago
That’s true
3400g, b350/b450 or similar around $40, 16gb ddr4 3000mhz+ around 20, 500gb-1tb ssd around 25-45
maybe i'd even go as much as throwing a laptop on that kid's mom
Hot dang
because tbh
That’s pretty good
Case, psu, etc just get as cheap as you can without being ass
Could maybe find a 4500g or 4600g
imo for a kiddo, a laptop is wiser
The GPU was built into the motherboard instead of the CPU then, and it shared 4MB of memory
but who am i to say, i grew up with a laptop
You’re desktopist smh
amazon got good starter gaming laptops for 250
I’ll ask if she would want me to find a good laptop for him
It’s for his Christmas present
i also lean more towards laptop
What was your first @obsidian wigeon
hp pavilion g4
that thing went thru hell and never came back
aka it died
i even took its guts off to try and sell it
i gave it away because it sat collecting dust
just ewaste

it was like bought in 2013
i had to cope with it until 2019
it had broken hinges
dead fan
typical 2010's hp stuff
it was also even outdated in 2013 lmao
not even haswell
it ran sandy bridge
thing runs cool when the fan actually works
but it never worked well once it hit 4-5 year mark
You really made that thing live
lol
being a teenager whose dad was stingy about stuff
you have to run stuff until they totally break down
like so badly that using it is not possible
Your first computer is so much newer than mine ☠️
Over a decade newer
damn
Howdy everyone question for yall what AIO would you recommend dont want to spend a crap ton because Im trynna to upgrade my gpu either way I have a Ryzen 9 5900x Wanting to go with an aio since other coolers seem to cover my 1st ram slot so i can install all 4 of my sticks... any thoughts or recs would be much appreciated ~ Peace✌️
Most air coolers should be compatible with using 4 ram slots, as long as you don't have tall profile ram
They do kinda go on top, but the ram should still fit
Could it be my mobo then? This isnt a new build just the way the cooler has to be in the pc blocks the 1st slot Im doing some upgrades on it. (Built in 2020)
Either way my old stock cooler aint gonna cut it I dont think....
Stock cooler that came with the cpu?
Idek if it comes with one
If it does, then it should be able to handle it at stock
If not, you'll probably need to get a tower cooler
Sorry So I currently have a Ryzen 3 3100 with stock cooler. Im upgrading to the Ryzen 9 5900x (which does not come with a stock cooler) Im looking for a better cooler to handle the extra performance.
Do you use your pc for just gaming?
Or workstation tasks too
If you're just gaming I would highly recommend the 5600x3d or 5700x3d over the 5900x
Almost 20% better gaming perf while being cheaper
And I would grab a thermalright phantom spirit 120 for the cooler
Exactly why I'm mentioning it lol
Yeah... a320 is definitely likely with a 3100
Its mixed i work from home so workstation using graphical applications and gaming
I got the 5900x on sale and its a big upgrade from the 3100 so i thought it would be a good option but My mobo is a MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX II Is that a problem?
I don't know if I'm the only finding it weird or concerned but when this specific cooler , the Thermalright Frozen Notte ARGB 72.37 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler reached like 89% is it normal for it to get loud?
Nope you're good
appreciate it
89%?
You mean fan speed? Yeah it'll follow what you or the motherboard set for a temperature curve
Yes fans speed
Normal
Cpu just getting warm

Mobo sees that and tells fans to go vwoom
If you want to adjust it look up how to make a manual fan curve in bios
I disabled pbo and have core performance boost on
Keep pump speed constant btw
Ya the CPU will get hot no matter what you throw on it
It's just a case of whats sufficient
The board will see that and adjust the fans according to the heat
Having a water cooler does not mean a cpu stays cold
I haven't changed any of those settings. I disabled pbo and have cpb on cuz I didn't like that it was running too hot
Yeh I know
It'll still ramp if it gets up in temp
Idk even what cpu it is and I can still say that
That's just what coolers will do, work harder for higher temperatures
You can override that behaviour by doing this^
7800x3d
So it is basically impossible for it to be dead silent when temperature gets high?
Yeh I know but I wouldn't want to do lower with the fan curve as it's probably throttle and cause the chip to get even hotter. But like I don't think I see a difference with pbo off even though I prefer a not top hot case (even though feeling a case temp is a bad perspective but yh) forgot to turn off ping my bad
Also wondering if it just makes sense to just revert the maximum performance boost back to100% instead of 99%
You could make a fan curve to keep it a bit more quiet but no, no pc is dead silent unless you go fanless
Depends on whether that helps your system or not
Minor difference if at all cos 7800X3D is not cooling limited but IHS bottlenecked in conjunction with copper cache layer
Lower fan curve won't make it much worse if at all
I don't see much difference. If I set it to 99% while playing games I see 4200mhz when I'm looking in Ryzen master but when I set to 100% I reach 4800 and the (max being 5000 because I turned off PBO)
I see
Well if it's not making any noticeable difference I don't see any reason to peg it outside of the norm
That 99% step is usually if you have performance issues
Yeh and it's much cooler with pbo off and idle temp also drops
Yes pbo unlocks ppt basically
Oh and I don't have performance issues 👀
Ya
Want my chip to last me another 3 years
Yeh I don't get any issues at all
The expectation is that it will either way lol
Only thing I have an issue with while playing games is when I switch the window and go on another app I experience chopping in the apps. I have to usually shake the window for it to come back but that's prob a graphic issue in settings
Set your apps to not be real-time in performance priority
That will probably be what that is
If not gpu scheduling or some other gpu related switching
Like background task limits
Or hdr flicking on/off
It'll be something like that
Ah so it's nth related to v-sync?
Uhh
Maybe?
Like freesync could potentially do that
In combination with/without vsync
There's a lot of solutions for arbitrary things like this, you could google for hours trying stuff
DDU is another one
?ddu
DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) Guide by Pato
https://github.com/NeweggTechie/Graphics-cards/wiki/How-to-use-DDU
Sometimes the nuclear option is the best
Yeh I been experimenting and tryna see if I could find that wandering issue
Ima play with my adrenaline settings when I reach home and see if it helps
I also saw smth that 100 means full turbo and 99 means base clock
That's not how I've seen it behave on my chips but maybe for others
Maybe for x3d? But I've not tried it on my x3d so idk
I think the only time it worked for me was on an intel laptop
Who's to say, my memory is all over the place lately
What a funny way to spell suprim
They’re French
Their whole page is French
But it’s clearly that they’re from my area
Something’s fishy about it though
GET IT WTF
I’m waiting for the reply of the century 😭
Account is full on legit
Possibly hacked? Yes
Possibly not? Yes
You have multiple builds?
👀
So what's your main CPU?
(hope this is the correct chat to talk bout this, dunno if it's about building pcs specifically)
Tis not tricky, quite easy
typo lul
100%
But how does that work exactly
I’ve been planning on using it
When it asks "what is this for" select goods and services, not friends and family
It charges a fee but you get protections from paypal just in case
Seems like it was really my GPU making my case warn 👀
13900KS/7950X3D
Depends if you ask me for work at home or games
games 🙂
7950 usually
ah
I might throw the KS on if I'm doing an esports comp
I kinda stopped doing that these days tho
running a cine bench rn
yeh
I have had way too many conversations this morning I am forgetting between them all
that's all gud
oh
I mean it looks functional
7000 series scores up to about, 2300? Iirc?
If you're clocking 4.8 ghz it makes sense
It would be a bit lower
mhm thats with max procesor state at 100%
They look better irl than in the pictures don't they
They look so mf nice
Deltas are so misunderstood until you try them
When they're plugged in and running they look WAY better than the marketing
Good rgb and (in a rare sighting) working heatsink unlike others
I’m glad I went with them
I have one question
Will 750 watts psu be enough for a 4070super and ryzen 77800x3d build ?
Yes
750w is just a capacity
You can have good and horrible 750w
But if it was suggested by one of the techies it would've been a good one
Which one you recommend
Atm?
For the lowest price and that’s good
A750gl might still be $80
Can you send link pls
This doesn't have the new connector, but is a bit nicer and 100w more. I could go either way between the two
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/8z7p99/super-flower-leadex-iii-gold-850-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-sf-850f14hg
Welp ig AGL sale over?
Ye gf a3 basically same thing
Quality wise I mean
Stick them in the same basket with RMe
Lol
Leadex iii is technichally better but same difference
so true! I have them and it looks better in the case
Whats the cheapest motherboard you'd get for 12700 ddr4? (on pcpartpicker)
sort by cheapest
look at reviews till you find one that doesnt have a bunch of negative ones
or something
Lmao
B660m pro rs probably
^^ almost always the cheapest solution even between countries
Solid vrms and decent overall features considering it's typical price tag, $90 in the US
However if you can spend $20 more on mobo and (depending on if you alr have ram or not) and $84 on ddr5, you'd see a fair bit of a difference
And you have ram you could carry over to a new build
Or if you don't have the cpu either, unless you're doing video editing 7600 would likely end up around the same price as 12700kf on ddr4
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600
Part List - Intel Core i7-12700KF
So I had to replace my random pokemon toy with an empty cologne bottle which has a glass body and a glass cap I believe?
Would this work or too risky? + you can see how much area the bottle supports from the other side
that's fine
Just don't shake or hit your case too hard I guess
i wouldnt go with 3000 series amd
at the minimum, 5000 series
it is considerably faster for gaming
actually there's quite a bit to be changed
okay
your ssds are also way overkill
ik im still a starter at this
yeah
do you need a monitor with the price
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LXz7t7 25 over hmm
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
im sure this could be trimmed down better
actually, honestly you probably dont need gen 4, so changing it to a mp33 for boot and storage drops it down to 10 over budget https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9qMvBL
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
i feel like the gpu and cpu pairing arent as matched as they should be lmao
@cyan ravine mr dentist how is this what would you change
idk if you're sleeping rn idk what time it is in aus
Yo that's like my rig
Tho I have an Air X ARGB case
In terms of the CPU+GPU
How is what is I am what is changing?
the teeth
or something idk
dentures
I need you to take some notes about what I will send for a list
Wait here
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6750 XT, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
A lot better but I think it can still improve a bit
Probably
im ngl i kinda stole a list that you made for somebody else... then swapped pretty much every component in it lmao

from this LMFAO
Wtf
i was like, "i could use this" then ended up changing everything
@mossy venture Nand just DIVED
almost
Cheap ram
W
Ye I've noticed prices are on the drop
@sick parcel
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7700 XT, SAMA IM01 MicroATX Mini Tower
It's "ITX"
oh hey the ram i picked stayed
Like NR200p size
i was debating on a single tower cooler but wasnt sure if it was enough tbh
no idea how hot 7000 series runs
oh it includes stock cooler
ig it's not that hot
lmao
i mean, only 1tb storage, i feel like that probably would fill up pretty fast?
Cheapest nice board regardless of form factor unless storage/usb needed, cheapest nice RAM, cheap single tower is very effective on 6c Ryzen, simple SSD (I change 1-2TB depending if a GPU upgrade fits or not), nicest looking cheap GPU, cheapest nice case (mATX makes it easy), Cheapest nice PSU for the spec
fair
I only really change to 1TB for that reason now
i see
Intel would do this list for even less if you don't care for socket life
12600KF + B760M sonic
You'd save...about $50?
Actually
I think I can do better again
💀
Brb
lmao
@mossy venture better or worse than reply?
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wPrr4M
Part List - Intel Core i7-12700KF, Radeon RX 6800, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
Really cheesing it I think with the cooler but it'd kinda work
It's kinda better tho
Kinda not?
Lost socket life, like I wouldn't touch 13th or 14th with a 10 ft pole rn
But it's a 12 core
It's better performing than a 7600/X
6800 is comparable to 7700XT less hardware RT
@sick parcel look at this above one too
Look at all the ones we sent
I'd maybe even argue the 6800 is a bit faster
And for cheaper at that
I think this last one is minmax'd to the limit
okay
12700kf mobo ram and cooler more than 7600 mobo and ram
I'd take the second
Especially considering you can't gaurantee any upgrade being viable on lga1700 atm
Sadge
It's ok bbg
I would like to request someone to find what fans these are
Cuz I seem to be stupid
i mean, there's a corsair logo there, so they're some sort of corsair fan
though it also doesnt look exactly like a corsair logo
wait
rog, it must be asus
though
hmmmmmm
though asus doesnt have a logo like that either
i dont recognize this icon lmao
maybe if somebody does, it would be super obvious but idk
This is why I’m struggling
I can’t find anything lmao
lmao
the closest i found was a corsair fan but guess how expensive it was (in cad since it's converted to local currency)
for 3 fans
like,

Well
but it doesnt look exactly like the fans so it's unlikely to be this
I can’t even see a logo on the case fans
yeah i was basing it off of fan shape
these look similar?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LKB63CF/
They might
Dude only has 5
These maybe?
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/G74Ycf/corsair-icue-sp-rgb-elite-4773-cfm-120-mm-fans-3-pack-co-9050137-ww
That looks close enough lmao
Those r static pressure fans and I use them for outtake, Corsair’s fan hub can’t control the fan speeds on them
They’re ok but I’d just get some good non rgb airflow fans
So is there a way to check the type of motherboard I have in my pc settings? Because right now I’m connected to my home internet and it’s only on two bars. Not sure if that’s because I need to update my WiFi drivers or find a better one for my computer.
You mean the model>?
HWINFO64 will do it https://www.hwinfo.com/files/hwi64_806.exe
might just be antennas
assuming you put your pc under your desk
also you usually can find what wifi chip you have in devmgmt and get drivers that way as well
Wait was an antenna supposed to come with our pc build when we first bought it for stronger WiFi connection?
yeah
Are we able to buy a new antenna?
Nevermind I found the antennas, put them in and the WiFi problem seems to be fixed
Yeah realized the problem was I never put them in until now
Good thing I found two antennas and the connection says it’s better so hopefully the problem is fixed
I just had those stored in a box
at least you didn't throw them out lol
Good rule of thumb, have a box on standby to store extra stuff from any components(screws, extra thermal paste, wifi antennas, etc.). Keep that box in a dry, safe place.
I used my PSU box, it's generally a good size and you'll have spare PSU cables anyways
I’m about to just start writing guides that answer easily Googleable questions and put them on my website
75% of the questions: easily Googleable
The other 25%: people who have a genuine problem and need genuine advice
If we had a collated place to debrief common issues that would really speed up the efficiency around here tbh
If you wanted to do it @analog hearth
Just every so often, find a textbook answer in the chat, copy paste to a new webpage
Soon enough it's a whole encyclopedia for easy answers
I was a technical writer at my previous job. I could write those easily
I wouldn't even write it I'd just find them every so often
Wait until I rant for 10 minutes then copy paste, simplify with chatgpt lmao
If you wanted to do it just for a mild ten minute thing every other day I reckon it'd turn quick into something as a common reference, provided it's peer reviewed and vetted for
I'm thinking about just looking for somebody who doesn't know how to use Google and write a quick tutorial about the question they're having
Like the letmegooglethatforyou website lol
💀
I endorse this part of your thought process
lmaoo
I've learned everything about multiple subjects straight through Google without asking for help at all from a person
Y'all can do it I swear bruh
Starting this project
gonna make it easy for y'all
@cyan ravine Real quick can you see the test webpage?
https://easily-googleable.terracasa.cc/
My personal HTML test page lol. Just a quick HTML document lmao (yes I'm doing all of this in HTML/CSS)
Yeah it's working
Oh yuh
I need to make a thumbnail bruh
Looks like a malware link 💀 (I promise it isn't)
Can we make it also a dark webpage
Sure
@cyan ravine How's this?
https://easily-googleable.terracasa.cc/
Easily Googleable Questions
A lot of it is just making a template lol. Writing the content would be quicker
Beautiful
That's all it needs, and maybe an index, with hashlinks to skip through the page
So every time you see something useful on here, spend 5 minutes turning it into a post with an index entry
After a while, organise it
Ez
@potent portal Maybe pin this site? It's a good idea
Yeah I'll add something to make it easier to navigate as it grows and eventually becomes too big
if i were to move the right fan to where the arrow is pointing, would it be useless there? because rn the right one is standing on top of ram sticks, and because of that i can't close my case fully
it'll still be useful
might change your temps by a few degrees
but it's not like gonna make your cpu throttle
it still will work fine
i guess its better than just removing it completely right?
you're honestly probably going to be fine with one fan as well, with just like 3 degrees more temp
^
tbf i had this same cooler with only 1 fan before, but i had a diff case with only 1 case fan, and the whole pc case was soo hot at some times
so i guess the case fans are clutching it up a lot then now?
this case will fare much better
the case was hot? that's not the fault of the cpu cooler
it has a lot more fans
ahh okay thanks
you can run one fan on the cooler and it'll be fine
hell, noctua's d15 has a version that only comes with 1 fan
its a 7800x3d under it
2 fans just give you the best performance that the cooler can give basically, but 1 fan is servicable
oh
that's easy then
it's not a very high wattage chip
7800x3d can be cooled by almost anything
so the best bet would be to move it where the arrow is pointing, so i can close the case atleast xD
like, a $17 cooler is overkill for it
i had a 5800x before in my old case with some coolermaster cooler and the case never got hot
5800x3d needed at least a very good dual tower
but when i swapped to 7800x3d with the noctua with 1 fan only, the case was getting really hot
meanwhile 7950x3d is fine on a single tower lol
ik it was a case problem, but it was a problem only with the 7800x3d, not 5800x which was am4
