Yep
Hey guys I got a quick questions I got a pny 4070 ti 12 gb vram and I put it on fb market saying I'd pay for a better card. Some dude hit me up and said he would straight up trade me a asus rog 4070 ti super no charge. Should I be suspicious or I am the chump here , is there something I don't know that he knows and he's the one , winning in this trade?
My gpu
His gpu
Is there like some secret defect in this gpu model
What are the lengths of both
Or something
Look up the lengths of both cards
There's no world that this makes sense to me. The Asus is a higher cost model and everything.
305mm Asus
332mm PNY
About the thickness difference of an average 120mm fan
Ain't no way unless his case was the length of a dinner plate
The PNY is longer I mistyped
But yeah that's still not a big card
@white wraith would trust it about as far as I could throw it
You'd probably get robbed or something if you showed up for that trade
Mines 331.8 millimeters it's very big I don't know about his though
Could be that too lol
I'm thinking that too
If it were to happen we will probably meet at a grocery store
I don't think he could do anything
I like to do movie theaters personally. They have security that'll help you out if you get there early and let them know what's up.
ask him why
Front of a cop shop
It's kinda weird tho
Because he seems like a trusted seller
Not like an average scammer
What's the date of last sale
I don't want to sound like I'm coping but maybe his card isn't oc ? Or maybe he likes how the pny card looks with rgb? I'm probably just reaching it does seem too good to be true.
There's nothing in this deal that benefits him
That's why it's sus
There is either something wrong with that card or you'll get mugged at a supermarket
He said the card got a warranty from micro center I forgot to ask him to send it
Yeah ur probably right it wouldn't have been weird if he wanted 100-200 cash
I told him I was busy so I could post one the trade I'll probably just ghost him
I’m trying to build a computer but I’m not sure if it’s good for what I want to do. Would you guys be able to help me out?
They gonna wake up soon xD
Oki lol
Might be able to help, but for now just put:
Budget
Country
How soon are you getting it
What you are using it for
Aesthetic preferences (if any)
I am here
Do this @fleet pasture
Am a beginner helper, but I will help nonetheless
Oki
$1650
USA
As soon as I can get the money. (I’m 15 so I dont have a good job)
Mainly gaming but I want to play VR, 3D model, make games, live stream, edit videos and cyber security.
I want a white pc I have some of the parts picked out I can show you guys.
Basic I want to do work on it and game a lot.
I’m saving up for it and thsts a lot of money so I’m reality as soon as possible but I know it will take a few months.
Buy now with actual budget, or work up to that budget
How about we do a starter build for much cheaper, then do an updated build when you have that money?
If you’re able to spend money now, then upgrade in the future.
I feel like that would be a waste of money. I have a laptop that I can use anyways until I get the money and I plan on buying the parts little by little.
Okay. Then I also second foxy.
Waiting would be your best option, as parts can drop or raise in pricing weekly.
It’s an unstable market
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 GRE, Phanteks XT PRO ULTRA ATX Mid Tower
Alright can I at least tell you if the parts I wanted are good for what I want to do?
The cpu will be Ryzen 9 7900x3d since it’s on sale for $392 then for the gpu The 7900 xt
@fleet pasture this list would be the list to off of
Are you gaming on it?
Yes
Then you don’t want the 7900x3d
^
Why?
You’d want the 7800x3d.
The 7800x3d is the best cpu for gaming right now.
Beating literally any other cpu thrown at it.
But I am going to be doing other things too.
Also right now the 7900x3d is on sale and it’s $50 more so it sounds like a better deal.
I’ll let @mossy venture explain
Oki
Basically
7900x3d has two 6 core ccds
Don't ask me what a ccd is idk
7800x3d has one 8 core ccd
One of the 7900x3ds ccds has the x3d cache, the other one doesn't
I don’t know what ccds is though.
A lot of the time in games, even with a lot of effort put in to avoid it with various things (ask @potent portal )games run off the non x3d ccd
It's just two halves of the cpu
Cores are split up between two halves of the cpu
Each half is a ccd
I don't know what a ccd actually is honestly, fal could probably explain that one.
Is the 7800x3d is better but cheaper?
But anyways, 7800x3d only has x3d cores
No
Woops typo
Yes
That doesn’t make sense though.
7900x3d is almost always worse than the 7800x3d, and when it isn't the perform the same
7900x3d has more cores
Better for workstation stuff
That’s what I need too.
Look at all the stuff I want to do.
All those tasks aren't multi core dependant aside from maybe 3d modeling
What about just doing multiple things at ones like playing a game, discord and YouTube at the same time.
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D, Phanteks XT PRO ULTRA ATX Mid Tower
Nah
Part List - Intel Core i7-13700KF, Phanteks XT PRO ULTRA ATX Mid Tower
Can you give me examples of what 7900x3d would be better for and I can tell you if I am doing it?
Video editing, blender, virtual machines, music production possibly? Any imagine rendering that's cpu dependant as well
Definitely others too, those are the ones that come to mind
Wait
Not video editing
I can’t look at this yet since my school blocked it.
For video editing you want single core perf and an Intel cpu with an igpu
I think that I will be using blender and imagine rendering.
Blender is either gpu focused or cpu multi core focused, it can be either depending on what you're doing with Blender
You also need an nvidia gpu
Also, new cpus will be out by the time you're buying I'd imagine
How come?
I'm guessing you won't be buying before the end of the year
Blender performance dies on AMD
Last I remember 7900xtx matched the 4070
Blender is one of the only reasons to go nvidia
Oh also UE5 likes nvidia and multi core perf
Why would nvida be better?
.
So like what do you mean like it just won’t work or I can do like good graphics on it?
Performance goes way down
Normally 7900xtx matches 4080 super, or is pretty similar in most tasks
Would it be used able at least?
In blender, it's closer to a 4070
Use, sure
Example, 7900 gre is $530, 4070 super is $580
4070 super is better than the $900 7900xtx for blender
It’s 1k and the 7900 xt is 530
Yes? blender runs on cuda
I may just stick with the 7900xt just because the price is lower.
7900 gre you mean?
Then go 4070
Well
I'd highly advise 4070 super over 4070
But for blender either is better value than the 7900 gre or 7900xt
No the 7900xt
7900xt is $700
It’s on sale right now.
If you mean under $650 on amazon, that's more than likely a scam seller
Let me look again I may have miss read it.
Yea it’s the gre.
Is that one any good?
I love the 7900 gre, just not when you're using blender
It performs the same as the 4070 super in gaming
Maybe 1-3% better
Performs like a 3070 for blender if I'm remembering right
I’m not sure if that’s good or not I’m new to all this.
It says this is for 1080p medium graphics.
Gaming at 1080p is cpu limited when you use that high end of gpu
Everything is gonna be pretty similar
Let me see 1480p high graphics.
Nice!
That 1440p?
Yes with ultra graphics.
Figured, that will more accurately show where stuff is at
I’m running a 6950 XT on 1440p
Yes I’m going to get a 7900 gre
Nice!
Look into a Nitro+ from Sapphire
7900 gre is a decent 1440p gpu
I think that has a higher power limit
sapphire pulse is great as well
“Decent” 💀
currently the cheapest one
What do you mean?
The different models and brands of gpus
decent is decent
Oh ok.
Is 7900 xt decent or good?
If I’m spending 550 it better be atleast good
Would you call 6950xt decent then
ya
.
I’d call it good
What about a 5090
It is becoming more and more popular it seems as it has dropped price
Not released yet
I know
Will probably be too expensive for most people
Yeah except he's using blender lol
right
He seems set on using AMD because it's cheaper and is willing to sacrifice blender performance
I was just going over the convo myself since I was pinged lol
That’s true.
The set up total is 1498.
I'd change case/fans
Part List - Montech SKY TWO ATX Mid Tower
Can also check out montech king 95, phanteks nv5, nzxt h6 flow, lian li o11 and its variants
Probably some others I'm forgetting
This is a nice case
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/RtFmP6/phanteks-xt-view-atx-mid-tower-case-ph-xt523v1-dwt01
If you're not married to the glass front panel, xt pro ultra, g360a, 903 max, td500, 205 mesh c
How come?
Case is whatever, the one you chose is fine, those are just other options that look very similar and cost less
Some of them you might like more
If you still like the one you found more then it's the right choice for you ig
Would you be able to help me find one where the psu goes in the back and not the bottom?
Wdym?
Like one with a psu shroud at the base of the case to cover it?
Like the xt view, the psu isn't visible in that
Like a dual chamber
@fleet pasture montech king95 is really good
Dual chamber isn't cheap tho
I know
Ah
Something like the nzxt flow
Sky two is probably the most affordable version and it takes quips from like 3 different case designs
Part List - Montech KING 95 ATX Mid Tower
That look I like.
I haven't recommended any nzxt since like 2022 lol
Oh their psus I have
They make good psus
There's not a single nzxt product that is both good and well priced
I like the look
The only times I've recommended something from them is psu or monitor sales
I think once h5 flow on sale
Is this good?
Yeah one time the h5 flow was on sale but other than that
It's a dual chamber case but I have no idea the quality of it
Bacca if you can do matx
Do mag pano msi
That case
I just remembered that is usually cheaper overall vs king95
It's also btf compatible
Alright
Mago pano iirc is decent
It looks weird
But as far as any cheaper options, I think NV5 exists but that's left the realm of dual chamber
I like square with 2 windows
That's all that I know about
King95 is the cheapest best
Maybe o11 air mini
Which is really one of the only 2 good o11's next to the evo
If not better than the evo imo
Is 9 fans to much like would I be able to plug them all in?
Depends on the fan
Also 9 is excessive on a dual chamber
6 is all you really need
3 top 3 bottom
Dual chamber design leverages a chimney style airflow pattern
Or I should say most do
Some weird ones like the h9 elite absolutely ruin the design with glass on top
How? I love the looks!
The little side vent on top doesn't do much to fix it
So it’s bad but it cost more
Is this a bad design for fans?
Alright
Let me introduce you to something
Oki
Screen in case?
Yes, but the interior is very similar less the psu
乔思伯JONSBO
The build quality is also the same as lian li
I like it but I just prefer to have 2 glass panels
Fair enough
I have to go but have a look at what bacca linked, he's very good with this stuff
2 things I want 2 glass panels and the psu not on the bottom.
Oki see you later
My setup
Most cases have PSU at the bottom
I prefer it as I dont trust having the PSU elevated
bro are you sane
☠️
there is literally no difference whether your psu is up high, down low, hanging sideways, sitting on the table, or whatever
theres no air bubbles to get trapped in like an aio pump
you could have it taped to the wall for all it cares
attach it to a ceiling fan
wires dont really like to spin
hmmm, if the psu spins as well as the fan, it could work
why stay still when you can just spin with the psu
attack the desk to the fan
at that point just keep the fan still and spin the room
now you're thinking with portals
Hey I was thinking of getting a new case since my h510 is kind of a hot box 😂. I was thinking between these two cases.
https://www.amazon.com/SevenHero-270-Degree-Full-View-Tempered-Mid-Tower/dp/B0CNK9MSVL/ref=pd_bxgy_thbs_d_sccl_1/140-4482979-3091524?pd_rd_i=B0CNK9MSVL&psc=1
https://www.amazon.com/Lian-Li-Dynamic-Mini-White/dp/B09138FCV5/ref=sr_1_1?sr=8-1
Ik theyre very similar but I was seeing if anyone had any thoughts on the sevenhero as I already have 4 of their fans in my h510 build rn
Can also check out montech king 95, phanteks nv5, and sky two
Between those two, o11
I like the Asus tuf gt502
I've ran it in the past
Where the reservoir is you can add three more fans and one on the side too
At the time I got it, it was cheaper than it's twin, the O-11D XL
It still is
Anyone know how to fix this ? I'm getting this error I think this is the cause of my screen keeps freezing
Anyone know how to switch to discrete TPMs from AMD Cpu based TPM?
You have to get a tpm module for your board
Which is probably not available publicly anyway
fTPM is perfectly fine
They are. It's about $25 each last I checked.
fTPM on AM4 was known to cause stutter, idk about AM5.
Ah
Oh coz recently I kept getting screen freezes
I’ve already tried everything with the help of @stoic island
But I still kept getting it even tho I upgraded to w11
I just disable TPM once Windows is installed
I don't play that one game with the anti cheat that needs it on either
Ya the game I play request for me to enable the TPM
Based on what I saw here they disabled the admu cpu based tpm
And switch to discrete tpm
Would tpm still be enabled even tho if im using discrete tpm?
Also how to set discrete tpm?
First you need to buy tpm module
Im using am4
You can't use discrete tpm without a module
Msi b550m mortar wifi
Which you can buy, according to falcie
R5 5600g and 6750xt
But you can disable firmware based tpm
Msi b550m mortar wifi dont have tpm module?
Not built in, no
Sorry not a techie ah
Foxy But MOD
Glad to see ya red again
It'll let you select between them in the security settings
I'd show you if my MSI X570 didn't decide my CPU needed more voltage and killed it
Yep right there
You're pointing at it
You only have one option because you don't have a tpm module installed
Right now I only have these 2 options. Is this it ?
Yep
Once you have the new module there will be a third
Not sure if we have it in our country I'm from philippines
I searched it mostly its on amazon
Should be easy to import, it's very small
That's the one
That should work
I think everything that is riot games ?
Maybe, idk
Compatible with msi b550m also right ?
But that tpm module should work
It doesn't need to explicitly say it's for MSI for it to work
So any brand would do?
They're all basically the same chip on a slightly different package
It just means the pins will fit for sure
yes
It should. It's a very basic device.
Make sure there's enough room around your TPM header on the motherboard
It's here
Can you guys help me find a white themed motherboard for AM5 but like for a budget.
It’s beautiful but expensive. https://a.co/d/4nWu7W2

You won't find white motherboards (or white parts in general) cheap
It's usually referred to as the "white tax" around here
An all white build will usually cost you about 15-20% more by the end of it
Yea I hate that but white is just better.
I’ll look into it thank you!
Good or bad? It’s 1.3k
Awful
It will perform the exact same as a bottom tier 4080 super, you're spending $300 for the brand name and aesthetics.
Part List - 2 x GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, Radeon RX 7900 XTX
I know :c
I mean you have to admit it looks great!
Then spend your money how you want. Not coming out of my wallet lol
If you know then why ask
I didn’t fully know
I started learning about computers like a week and a half ago.
I will not admit that because my sense of style is different from yours. I prefer little or no RGB, blackout style.
I get it I’m just saying that it looks nice to me
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZdqWRK
Lookin to start building this soon
Any way to maybe trim down the price? Only thing I’m dead set on is the 2080ti, and I need Bluetooth.
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 3600, GeForce RTX 2080 Ti
uh
wifi means it has bt too
it's the standard these days
all consumer wifi cards or chips come with bt module too
Ah
Well, it doesn’t have armoury crate, so it’s better in my book
I also don’t know what aesthetically pleasing case to get
Maybe a white or blue
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ w build?
If u have suggestions please let me know
My first time building a pc myself
I’m going for performance mostly but a little aesthetic would be nice
Wrong link, copy the link inside the page, not the url
all imma say is
no, this needs a lot of adjustments
and i have a question
what's your use case for the pc, budget, and do you want a certain theme (rgb, white, etc)
Black rgb if not fine and no I don’t have a certain theme really
Like what
i can throw you a list rn
Alright
but basically, the cpu and more
I might use rtx instead of amd since amd is mostly gaming
And nothing else
Meaning rtx would be better
Just a little more pricy
do you need wifi?
Yes
Good WiFi
I’ve been stuck on a trash motherboard
With 120 mbs
Been a nightmare
120 mbs cap
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, Phanteks XT PRO ULTRA ATX Mid Tower
Just saved ya $100 for a better rig
I have a asrock motherboard right now and it has terrible internet
You sure this one won’t be the same
I can assure ya that it doesn't have the same issues
Many people have been satisfied with the pro rs boards on am5
My friend recommended this build
It’s a little more pricy
But lemme get your opinion
Go for it
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Phanteks XT PRO ULTRA ATX Mid Tower
Actually not 1.9k
1.8k lol
Ooo
The xtx matches 4080 super in perf
Xtx I heard competes with 4090 almost
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, Phanteks XT PRO ULTRA ATX Mid Tower
And if you prefer
Here I matched budget
Equivalent gpu from nvidia
ya
What do u do with your old builds?
The benefit with nvidia is nvenc, but you can record decently with amd as well
I dunno, I usually either sell or keep em
I wanna sell mine but I’m having trouble getting offers
I can help you figure out the value of it
I’m lf 900 on a rtx 2060 i7 11900k 1 tb ssd 16 gb ram
900 for that is tough tbh
I’ll take lower for it tho
i'd say it's worth 600 tops atm
750 my lowest
gpu weighs down the value
Dang
given the rest of the rigs
I paid way more
it'd be worth a bit more if it had a 3070 or something
considering brand new, 600 usd could get you a build with r5 3600 and rx 6600
It’s Alr tho it was my first pc
Ima try and get 700 for it
Yea
My first build had a core 2 quad
The build I’m doing right now https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hkzCh3 is my second build
Started mid range
2060 is a good card but outdated now
Laptops are good but they overheat so much
Laptop issue
I had a omen omg it would reach 100c😭
That's a design issue
Omen is trash
Mine never gets to those temps
My strix has really beefy heatpipes
It was only $1300 too
I think that's accounting for ram upgrade
What’s the Gpu
3070
My tuf a15 has 4050 for gpu
It is way overkill for what I use this laptop for
Half my time is spent in microsoft word
Matches the hypothetical 4050 desktop that's probably coming soon I guess?
And besides it's a bit past the sweet spot in terms of value
Ppl hate on it
3060 had better overall value
And it was a bit cheaper
But I didn't want to downgrade to 6GB vram so
3070 it was
Ppl were saying on the 3050 it had the same performance as 1660 super😂
I mean if it's like $600
🤷♂️
4050 would be 3060 desktop perf if it didn't have such a small bus width for vram
so overall im satisfied, enough
considering i upgraded from 850m lol
i got it for 1.2k, but didn't pay whole actually
still leasing it lol
When I first started with pcs I bought a 300 dollar laptop thinking it was gonna be good😂
South east asian
launch price plus limited choice
It had a terrible gpu
rn the same laptop can be picked up for 800-900
In your market?
That's pretty decent actually
I'd imagine that used 3060s would be a bit more
3070's great
Depends on the games you play I guess
I don't even play that many gpu intensive games these days
Oh really?
which is horrible anyway
I thought the performance between the 3060 and 3070 was quite close?
Pretty redundant for the cpu
It can be cooled just fine on a single tower air cooler
An aio is basically just for looks for it lol
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kfCgWt replaced some stuff better for my budget
you could do better with one of my lists, but in the end it's your money
my advice is to assist you
I'd trust foxy's list more tbh
You can then invest in a better monitor later, y'know
Can a 1660s handle dual monitor?
I would highly suggest a monitor upgrade even if you were spending $1000 on a pc
1080p is underkill for any pc even close to this budget
Also 4070 ti super is among worst value gpus this gen
Barely better than 4070 super for $220 more
Yes.
What are the good value GPUs ATM? I'm out of the loop with supers and ties this gen.
AMD GPUs are pretty much all good (just don't go with an RX x600 or lower)
If you must get high end Nvidia then the 4080 super is decent, and MSRP is lower than the regular 4080.
I do agree that AMD is a better option in almost every tier
5700 and 5800 still pack a punch
just bad cooling
5800?
there's no 5800
4080 super, 4070 super, 7600, 7800xt, 7900 gre, 7900xt, 7900xtx
Other gpus non current gen are 6750xt, 6800, and whatever refurb or used options pop up
But those gpus are the ones I'd consider new
Ti super only if you can't afford 4080 super, need nvidia, and are doing workstation tasks that benefit from more vram
I just don't like people justifying their current monitor for overspending on their pc
Or downgrading parts for something else
Like mobo, etc
I like my 4070 Super
be quiet! Silent Wings Pro 4 83.9 CFM 120 mm Fan vs. ARCTIC P12 Max 81.04 CFM 120 mm Fan
How much louder is the be quiet vs the p12?
Headphones can make any fan quiet
What do you mean by wifi?
Anyone got tips on how I can upgrade this with 400 bucks? or if it even really needs upgraded? I just want to be able to run any games without issues
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 6800, Montech AIR 903 BASE ATX Mid Tower
Do you own all of it?
With $400 not really aside from adding some storage
You don't need to upgrade at all
If you're happy with it
Because that's a good rig
oh thank you
I'd wait until next gen GPUs are out and see what you can afford then
^
Yeah agreed, the cheapest I would upgrade is maybe $530 for a 7900 gre, and that's only around a 20% perf jump
Imo nowhere near worth it
Real
My motherboard has 2 separate usb headers, but my case came with a cable that combines them what do I do
Wait the motherboard itself has ports I’ll just use those
Razer barracuda x, Corsair hs55, or Logitech g435 headset?
Yo guys I am looking to upgrade to 32gb of ram, but the only thing i really know anything about is the Latency (CL and the speed). What do you guys think abt these sticks: https://www.amazon.com/G-Skill-PC4-28800-3600MHz-Ripjaws-16-19-19-39/dp/B07Z45XB3G/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=2MS75WZ0D1U5Y&keywords=ddr4%2Bripjaws%2B3600%2Bcl16%2B32&qid=1686332464&sprefix=ddr4%2Bripjaws%2B3600%2Bcl16%2B32%2Caps%2C204&sr=8-3&th=1
I wouldnt buy them
That's what a good kit of ddr5 costs
What cpu do you have?
This is the most I'd spend on ddr4 at this point
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/PJ6qqs/teamgroup-t-force-vulcan-z-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr4-3600-cl18-memory-tlzgd432g3600hc18jdc01
Why is ddr5 better then ddr4?
This is normal
Quick answer: faster
Oh makes sense but in what ways?
Clock speed lmao
Also the standard allows for larger capacity dimms than ddr4 iirc
And has some form of error correction
Oh ok and I wouldn’t be able to use the Ryzen 9 cpu with it right?
Er
Yes and no
Ryzen 9 isn't a sku
7000 series ryzen is ddr5 only
And prior generations were ddr4
Alrighty I’m getting a 7900x3d so that’s why I was asking so thanks!
Oh yeah you can only use ddr5 with that
Yea want to see the stuff I’m getting later?
No need
Oki
So I just have to use the usb ports that are on the motherboard?
No, just plug in the usb3 internal connector and you can also use both usb on the case
Doesn't matter which one on the mobo
It doesn’t fit did you look at the picture
Are you trying to plug it into the right port
The poet should look similar to this
The image you sent was 2 usb 2.0 ports
What does WiFi connector do for the Motherboard Does it make the connection better?
What
Just means you can use the PC with WiFi if you don't have wired connection available
So what happens if I don’t have it?
You either run an Ethernet cable to your PC for network, buy a WiFi adapter, or you don't get Internet connection at all
Pick your poison
Oh can I do Ethernet with a wifi adapter though?
I'm a little confused by your question. That board you posted an image of has both Ethernet port and WiFi option, you would not need an adapter?
Oh ok
Almost all boards available have at least 1 Ethernet port
Alright
btw, wifi = wireless. The 2 pointy parts circled inthe pic, called antenna. 👍
So if I wanna connect to my house Wi-Fi, do I need an antenna?
If you want more than 5% signal, yes, you need to screw them on

Tried it before without, you can lose wifi connection even if your router is next to the motherboard
Even a paper clip would do better than no antenna
Have done this
Can confirm
can someone please help me my motherboard has a orange led on it I've tried everything updating bios checking the power supply and everything I can find online please help
nah
What LED specifically is orange? Can you get a close up picture of it?
Tinfoil also works I believe
@potent portal
what should I do from here on?
I've updated bios
check all connections
1 thing to try is each ram stick by itself. When pc is shutdown, clear cmos.
how do I clear the cmos
?cmos
How to clear CMOS (works for AMD and Intel)
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000025368/processors.html
Defines CMOS technology and how to clear CMOS using the jumper or battery methods.
No way 💀
If it's able to boot into Windows then I'd say it's just a bug and you can ignore it
Antennas are literally plastic covered wires
Anything is better than no antenna honestly
All an antenna has inside is a thin metal wire that's looped around a couple times
If you think about it you could bend and cut an antenna to be a paperclip
I mean yea I guess so
I will turn you into a paperclip
@mossy citrus Where'd you get the parts for that? I need that layout right now omg
Qwertykeys
bro thanks
okay
anyone happen to know how to fix this ?
I keep getting this error in events viewer
why bother?
you mean in game?
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NDftTY w build?
I hate to be a broken record but for 1.6k you can do a lot better, "overkill" parts or not
Fans added a lot
It was 1450 before the fans
Heard good things about it
They're nice but so expensive
Thermalright fans aren't too much inferior but do cost a fraction
I’ll check em out
Thanks for letting me know
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KvhxMV also I updated the case and you
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Phanteks XT PRO ULTRA ATX Mid Tower
Gpu
imo i'd just not buy extra fans
and swap aio for thermalright frozen edge
All the cash you'll save can be put on a 1440p monitor
I just built my computer, and after installing synapse it restarted, now I can’t get into windows, it keeps blue screening with the error “inaccessible boot device” I tried reinstalling windows from another USB but for some reason it won’t work
Windows corrupted itself due to synapse maybe
How do I fix it?
Gotta reinstall windows
I did, it refuses to install
Hm
Wdym formatting the drive
just load the iso on a flash drive
and allocate memory to your windows setup
and should work
memory as in drive space
I don’t understand
If you’re saying to put the installation media on the drive
And then boot from there, I tried that and it didn’t work
From a clean USB drive
I can get on a call and show you in a bit
best laptop from $200-300 USD? gonna be used for primarily work for a family member
also im getting the parts for my own pc build pretty soon
something second hand i guess
why?
Can you explain what it is or isn't doing to give us more information than "it didn't work"?
When you try and boot from the USB, does it just load into bios? Do you get any sort of screen?
Does it still just try to load into your corrupt windows?
@fleet pasture $350 total
Huh?
my keyboard i posted in build pics
Ohhhh
Thank you but that’s a lot of money
Can I help you here lad, I can see you're after a certain aesthetic.
Here is the same list, same fans, only everything is better and faster, especially the ssd.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4V6dQP
If you don't believe me about the fans, you can look up the regular TL-B12's and they review identically to A12x25's, have the same performance, have the same quality, come from the same factory, and cost 1/3 of the price just because they don't say noctua lol.
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XT, Phanteks XT PRO ATX Mid Tower
Extreems are better overall than the Noctuas as they have a larger rpm range (the red is optional btw but it would go with the sapphire pulse tbf, the pulse being one of the best amd cards anyway)
The minor differences to each fan is the b12 has a more rounded edge on the blade tip, and a three prong cage instead of 4, but they otherwise review identically, often with the B12 just a little ahead and the extreem much further than that due to brute force
The aio also comes with 3 regular TL-B12's, and it's a better pump than the LFII or LFIII for a lot less at that, I figured you might like this cos you get all pretty much the same, but now you can fit a 7900XT instead of a 7800XT lol.
I can always get into BIOS, but when I try to boot from the USB, the screen freezes and it stays like that. If I put it as my default boot drive and then let the computer boot, it immediately blue screens and restarts into the same process all over again
I can send a video of it if you want
Any good mice? I need to get something new
Got a 20 dollar gift card so my budget is 20 dollars lol
Target
Alright
I could probably look for a specific model though
I can try
This is probably what I would get if I were you
Or perhaps eek out $20 in cash for this
Pretty much what I have now just a honeycomb type lol
White but it's a better mouse
I can probably manage
I'm going for a black and white setup anyway
I'd say it's worth it to buy the hyperx
Pixart sensor instead of whatever's on $20 mice
You're effectively paying 20 bucks for a much better mouse
Free is good, but these $20 tier mice are usually bleh
Da essential iirc is about all that's good for $20
Has white led on white or green led on black tho
I figured, i might buy the mouse if I can't think of anything else to buy
Just trying to find the small things to make my room look a bit more modern and sleek since were moving into a new home
Will I be able to play lspdfr with as many mods as possible?
900 is a lot
You can have 5000fps with minecraft with mods
Or you can have 12
It's an open book
Woah
Fun fact, the fps limit for gta 5 is only 160 iirc
Engine won't go higher
Why so low?
Thanks
Idk, I've never really understood engine limits
Can’t you get like an app or something to make it higher to something?
Would this pc last me a while
a subjective yes
If "I just bought an almost highest end pc" doesn't come with "I will last a while with this" I don't know what will
Lol
No idea, I never got into the gta rp stuff that heavily
Only during it's early days
The idea of buying for future proofing is never a good idea tho, tomorrow they could unveil something crazy like, idk a.i based ray tracing and all future products are 30x faster than older products @wary gale
The idea that you will last a while with a pc is assumed but can never be a matter of fact
It's why most people say there's no such thing as futureproofing
In the pc space anyway
This is a PC you built and installed windows on yourself?
Is secure boot enabled by chance?
Yes I built it myself, and I’m not sure, how do I check?
Usb not good enough to install windows it sounds like
It’s 8 GB
Being 8gb and running 8gb well are mutually exclusive things
On a new enough usb that shouldn't be an issue
If it's like a 15 year old worn out usb then yeah, might have trouble
It’s very old, can’t remember from when
I have a nice stack of USBs that simply don't work any more. Some of them would work for storage but I couldn't boot from them so I couldn't use them as OS install drives.
Emphasis on worn out lol
I have a 1T drive from last year that I’ll try later, I’m away from home rn
Thx for explaining
Someone made me a cheap build but yours is better in my opinion
1600 rlly good
Np
Do u wanna see the build that someone suggested me
I'm always open to ideas
There's a way to push the build you have further too, you could probably eek about another 100-200 out of that pc, but I don't think you'd fit another upgrade in that budget
Yeah doing the numbers in my head, about 130-ish, not really enough for an xtx or 4080 afaik
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Phanteks XT PRO ULTRA ATX Mid Tower
That’s the build someone recommended me
That one's fine but the ram is terrible
Cooler is also overkill
But overkill in a good way
What’s the upgrade I could do?
1850
The other thing about this one is asrock stock coldplates tend to be rubbish on their coolers
The card is otherwise fine tho
1850 you could definitely just pop an xtx in
No other effort required
Is it that big of an ingame difference?
About 16% give or take
Not bad
For 16-20% ish more cash
It's more or less the same value tbh
The best value card imo is the gre in this instance
You can get near 7900xt performance for 550 instead
But you need to play with the card a bit to achieve it
Can I overclock it or is it already over clocked
Since it runs on almost the same core as a 7900xt but with slower memory and a smaller bus it has a few bandwidth limits that weigh it down
You can overclock it
Though your mileage will vary for stability, as it always does with overclocking
Alright
Again recommending the pulse, as long as it's the cheapest or near cheapest
Merc310 is nice too
But all 3 cards, the xtx, the 7900xt and the gre, all can just slot right in to this pc build
Just choose how much you want to spend
Ye you can cut it back a little bit going to matx board, matx case, 1tb drive and abandon the extra fans
Less rgb on the ram helps too
This could also fit in budget if you prefer nvidia
Now that I think about it the ram is a little pricy
Any cheaper ones yet aesthetic ones you know
Because it isn't a fps game
@wary gale would look more or less like this
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Dnh8BL
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, SAMA ARGB-Q5 MicroATX Mini Tower
The ram looks slower but that's because it's the same ram as before but without an xmp
It goes equally as fast if not faster if you know how to use it
Tcreate agbd normally can clock up to 8000+
Not really an ideal matx board at 125 atm
Thanks man
Next best is that itx board, still solid 8 phase power tho
Sounds good, you can mix and match some of this stuff around to fit your budget if you want
Have lots of games on steam and I record YouTube videos
An xtx should play anything at 1440p
Amd is fine to record with right?
Hell it can do 4k reasonably at that if you temper expectations
It can
I’ve always had an nvidia so it will be nice seeing how amd is like
It's not bad at it either, just be wary h.264 doesn't look great but most platforms should be evolved from h.264 in the next couple years anyway
Twitch for example is moving to av1 shortly
H.265 (hevc) doesn't suffer like h.264 on amd
H.264 is the only one I'm aware of either
If you think you need it tho, the 4080 I linked is fine
Just be careful with the 12vhpwr
I heard that 4080 is the worst value to performance card right now tho
