1st list mobo has wifi in it's name , so yes. Probably wifi 6 considering how old wifi 5 is.
I check the mobo it’s only wifi 5
I've been here for 3 years
This is the first time someone's told me no wifi 6 is a problem
You live in australia bro, we can't even saturate wifi 4 here

There's more to it than speeds, but wifi 5 is probably plenty
Sorry did I say 4? For 99% of the population it's only saturating wifi 3
Some 1-5% have any fibre to the premises in this country
Welp that's your cheapest option for wifi 6

Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, Silverstone FARA H1M PRO MicroATX Mini Tower
Feels like a waste to ditch the cooler but anyway, nothing else can really be cut here
@cyan ravine
Check this out
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, Thermaltake V250 TG ARGB Air ATX Mid Tower
Thermaltake Toughpower GF A3 Snow Edition 1050W 80+ Gold Full Modular SLI/Crossfire Ready ATX 3.0 Power Supply; PCIe Gen.5 600W 12VHPWR Connector Included; PS-TPD-1050FNFAGU-N; 10 Year Warranty
is this a good power supply?
All the same important specs but smth changes
You can't use that board with the cpu
How it’s am4
They'll make you pay at least $20 to bios update it
I've been in this situation before
I have a friend who can do for me
I wouldn't use the case either, it's all glass
If you have a friend who can help bios update then the board is fine
Ye
P3 is also a lot worse than the lexar ssd I had
But the case I wanted it coz my old one was to small it could slide in a 250mm gpu but max space was 270
.
They’re the same price anyway I can just change
@cyan ravine accept my request
We can talk in priv
I don’t have notes enabled here there is too many messages
School?
Work
Case alts
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/ZJcRsY/phanteks-eclipse-p360a-atx-mid-tower-case-ph-ec360atg_dbk
If you want to not lose 5-10% perf you need one with a proper intake
The first one is like 40% glass
I would def change the keyboard tho
Coz there is 2 version a air version and the normal version
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/CxcG3C/evga-z20-rgb-wired-gaming-keyboard-811-w1-20us-kr

And currently I’m on 1356
You can go a few dollars over
It's not a budget if you don't calculate overrun
Having a good keyboard is almost as big as having a good pc itself
Don't underspend on it

27 dollars over
And one of my teacher said he can give me 1x16gb ram and a 1tb ssd
If they can give you an ssd then take the current one out
I need to verify with him if he can
Last list.

There
No more from me

Remember NA is like the only place that doesn't include tax in their listing prices so that's an easy extra 10-25% depending on the country
What's a solid build for playing warzone ? 1440 looking to get a good amount of fps. Series x does 1440 at 120
Since warzone is cpu dependent is it worth it to do a high end cpu with a 3/4 gpu lol
budget?
I'm thinking under 2k usd
well under budget, ssd is free with cpu https://pcpartpicker.com/list/t3xzxH
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Radeon RX 7900 GRE, Montech AIR 100 ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Montech SKY TWO ATX Mid Tower
closer to max budget, can swap to 4080s
I like them both
@crimson zinc
i actually didnt think of my budget and its USD
all i can tell you is i want to download the videos of the exact same quality as the original
since im paying for the subscription
so whatever that takes!
Wait what
You dont need to go out and build an entire PC just to download videos
just… there are scripts you could run on a cloud server for like $5/mo
And even if you didn’t want to do that, a raspberry pi running Linux could still do what you want for the price of that windows purchase
Sweet, so that means you can hand me over all of them🔫
And your lunch money
This website provides general steps on how to build a gaming PC https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/gaming/resources/how-to-build-a-gaming-pc.html
Is it accurate
Im a 6’6 250 pound man I don’t think you’ll do much to me bud
🙂
~~it was a joke, but I’m glad you had a chance to brag about yourself:D ~~
Lol
This pc sounds like the power supply wants to kick on but shuts off. His cpu cooler comes on for a second and then shuts off.
The guy put a new cpu and gpu in his old system and now there are issues
Got parts in 😎
Where do you often get parts in Canada which are not sold on Newegg
What parts are you looking for
Creative Labs Sound Blaster AE-9 32-bit 384 kHz Sound Card for some hi-fi experience
Not sold in Newegg Canada
Sold out in Memory Express
Guess the best bet is Canada Computers
Yeah probably
Way more power than you need
750W would be plenty if you wanted headroom
650W if you wanted cheaper that would still work fine
i think its good so in the future i can upgrade
@mossy venture you still on Bacca?
Unless your upgrade plans include a 14900KS overclocked to 6.2GHz and a 4090 overclocked at 500W, 1000W is still overkill
what i mean is the 80+ gold good?
That's just an efficiency rating, it has nothing to do with quality
Some 80 gold psu's are garbage
Always check this list.
Hey @potent portal you think you could tell me what's wrong with this pc or maybe some other things to try atleast
I finally have time to sit and work on it while the kids are napping
I just got home from work and I have no idea what you're talking about. Sorry, I help far too many people to keep track of individual people/problems.
All good. So the PC when i turn on the power supply the AIO screen turns on and then off then when i hit the power button the psu clicks but nothing happens
Sounds like you have a short somewhere
Unplug everything from power except the bare minimum, the 24 pin, 8 pin cpu power, and GPU power. This includes unplugging fans and storage drives.
And double check that the correct cables are plugged in, I've seen people accidentally plug PCIe cables into the EPS port.
Howdy from San Antonio, Texas. I have a question regarding RAM for my build and wondered if any of y'all can point me in the right direction...
What kind of question did you have? I'm sure someone can help
CPU: i9 14900K, GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060, Mother: ASUSTeK PRIME Z790-P WIFI D4
I need to know the best RAM that would work. Has to be DDR4 I think
Yes DDR4 would be the only option for that board, but unfortunately you'll be losing out on about 15% of your CPU performance because of it
Currently own it. and, yeah, I know it being limited to DDR4 does limit things.
so you've already bought everything else? what's the pc being used for
it is for streaming, I already have a gaming PC
streaming editing?
both
I'm a tech short bus rider...
Alright. Well the best you can usually do in gear 1 (best latency/performance) is going to be 3600c14. It's not going to be cheap at all and you'd probably be better off buying a new motherboard that supports DDR5 instead.
At high capacity yes you'll be super limited in speed
yes do that if you go lower capacity^
I have no issues with 128GB
128 you will be about on the limit with 3200
3200 gear 1 btw
you can pop 128gb into a 14900k board and it'll probably default gear 2 which is much slower
depending on the xmp
It likes to do gear 2 even at jedec
so yeah, pretty much, 128gb basic 3200, or 64gb at a nice or fair bit better speed like 3600
currently have G.Skill F4-3200C16-32GVK
heard that. That was my original plan but I wanted to make sure that I was not missing a different approach
would suggest a new kit imo
especially if 128gb
even g.skill uses a wide range of chips for each ram lineup so you can end up mixing very easily
what would be the better RAM to get? that is what I need to know. I have a decent budget towards it...
What resolution are you editing at
I'm only dealing with 1080p because of Twitch's hatred of anything higher
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/RjK2FT/teamgroup-t-force-vulcan-z-64-gb-2-x-32-gb-ddr4-3200-cl16-memory-tlzgd464g3200hc16cdc01
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/rJkgXL/gskill-ripjaws-v-128-gb-4-x-32-gb-ddr4-3200-memory-f4-3200c16q-128gvk
boop
oh 1080p you can just stick with 32gb
you won't need this much
hell 14900k is uber overkill for that lol
it came with my computer, and I just want a PC that will last longer than 2 years...
32gb would be more than fine if all you're doing is 1080p tho
it's not going to get any worse unless you go up in res
I'd post my build, but cannot. guessing because I'm a short timer
if you edit in 1440p or 4k then 64gb makes sense
128gb is plain overkill for anyone
but 1080p you can just keep using 32gb
If you put the parts into a pcpartpicker list it should work, we have that whitelisted
currently running 128gb
Choose Your Parts
oh then just use that then lol
use it if you've got it
not saying "Take ram out" saying "Don't buy if you got it" lol
what is the difference between the 3200C16 versus the DDR4-3200 CL16?
okay
I might have a bad stick because I occasionally get the lovely blue screen 'Oops, something went wrong.' and it causes the PC to restart
depends
as we said 128gb is difficult to run
so it may also just be the cpu doesn't like running that fast
too much bandwidth all at once
so bring it down to 64?
could just downclock it
I have zero idea how to do that, lol
instead of 3200, manually set it to something like 2866
you'd do that through bios
you know where you go to turn on xmp in the advanced settings?
it's right around that normally
manually set the frequency
yeah... after High school's computer class, Radio Shack TRS-80, I joined the Army... Infantry. I'm far behind....
kids now use GPS, I use a map and compass...
it's easier to do than streaming lol
think of it like, going into your game settings
for something like call of duty
fortnite
you know?
but for the computer
this is me trying to get all of the lines in the right place. and I can't seem to quite get it right....
I have a knack of killing PCs....
this is like a 30 second task
if you know how to take ram sticks out then you can surely turn on xmp and adjust the frequency
the latter is easier than the former
they make these things really easy to find
I'm going to give that a go. Just started reading it.... I truly do appreciate your help.
thank you, again. I'll see what I can come up with. I'd love to share my rig, but need to wait to post it, I guess
You can use pcpartpicker if you know what the specs are
^
otherwise you'll be able to post pictures later if you keep talking
well, I took it from 3200 to 2666MHz. we'll see how that rolls. again, thank you for your help
Can someone help with upgrading ram on laptop
Ddr4
32GB DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM x 2
I got a few options
TEAMGROUP Elite DDR4 64GB Kit (2 x 32GB) 3200MHz PC4-25600 CL22 Unbuffered Non-ECC 1.2V SODIMM 260-Pin
"Kingston Fury Impact 64GB (2x32GB) DDR4 2666Mhz PC4-21300 SO-DIMM 260Pins CL16 1.2v Laptop RAM KF426S16IBK2/64, Black"
Corsair Vengeance SODIMM 32GB (1x32GB) DDR4 2666 C18 1.2V
as long as the cpu can accept the rated speed of the sticks, then it works
google the cpu name for the manufacturer website to tell you if it does or not
e.g i7-7700hq > ddr4-2666 > choose 2666 sticks
It says
System Memory Type
DDR4 - Up to 3200 MT/s
LPDDR4 - Up to 4266 MT/s
Lpddr4 sounds better
So lpddr4 is not possible to plug in ram slot
And is soldered on board
Why is it even mentioned then
But their specifications seems different like cl22 and cl18
No need to worry
They're all jedec spec
But the lower latency the better usually
okay
thanks
ill go with this one TEAMGROUP Elite DDR4 64GB Kit (2 x 32GB) 3200MHz PC4-25600 CL22 Unbuffered Non-ECC 1.2V SODIMM 260-Pin
yo
anyone know the mounting system for this

this is the one i was looking at
Right in the Amazon listing dog
VESA mount compatibility allows you to mount the display on a wall or with a stand depending on your specific needs
oh my bad lol
is puting 4 sticks of ddr5 ram bad ?
im planning to build this in like 2 months thoughts? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kpFGN6
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
It's not "bad" per se, just sub-optimal
If you don't need outrageous amounts of memory, it tends to yield better performance to only use two sticks
I mean if you have some kinda high-end workstation that needs like 192gb of memory, then by all means go for the 4 sticks
But it'll probably be slower than advertised
looks decent, though in 2 months everything will be changed so the list won't really be that useful anymore.
also, 6700XT's are almost completely gone now, I wouldn't wait for that card if you want it
Few days ago that XFX was one of like several SKU's left available
Gone back up to 3 now that I've checked but I get the feeling this card won't be available for a whole lot longer, could be wrong
what should i go for instead of the 6700xt’s
mmm there's not really a decent alternative at that specific price point
Otherwise I'd have mentioned it lol
In that range, 6650XT, 6700XT, 6800 tend to be outright winners
7700XT kinda too if you can find it under about 400-ish
e.g ^
ideally 380 for this card, but if there's nothing left from last gen soon, this will probably be the pick for that price class
6750 is $310 atm (idk if this was mentioned)
There's 3070 refurb for 285 from zotac
6750 is another one
Some 3060 ti refurbs for 260 on wegg
hopefully it's still there in 2 months, but lately it's been looking like numbers are dwindling
I say this the same to 6900XT, 6800
It's been also fairly stagnant as well on some cards, but who knows
I could be wildly wrong
this for 250 isn't that bad either
Better value than 6700xt/6750xt at 330
But at 310 I'd spend the $60, 10-15% better perf and 4gb more vram
thanks
can somebody please help is this a good psu or not
How much is it?
It's solid, but around $130 there's a better option
its 178$
I think I might have messed up my motherboard…
I was plugging in usb 3.0 and it seems like I might have bent some of the pins inside of the cable
Does that mean it basically over?
Omg
I didnt even see it that good
Those are messed up
What should I do?
Return the mobo?
One guy said just f it and use motherboard i/o usbs
Dang $178
Can someone help me My motherboard has power cause I pressed the reset switch and a white light turned on but when I go to turn it on nothing happens
Anyone got any idea
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, SAMA IM01 MicroATX Mini Tower
This is the pc specs
At least make sure those damaged pins on the USB header aren't touching, or it'll cause a short that the PSU detects and will refuse to start
The next thing to check is if the front panel header is connected correctly. I've wired the reset button to the power before by accident.
What CPU is good for a budet build around 1,500 to 2,000
7800x3d if used for gaming
Yeah I moved them
I’m sad dude :/
I spent $1,300 on a pc and it don’t even work :/
I should have just bought a damn prebuilt 😂
It's worth it bro, i promise
The knowledge you get from building is useful
I had to return my original aio because it wasn't working
Its only worth it if you enjoy the process or happen to save a lot of money by going diy tbh
this guy really just broke his USB 3 header
:/
How'd it happen
Pushed the cable into hard
Do you not see how bad they are?
RMA the motherboard if you can't bend them back
Again, wouldn't hurt
And you have this option either way
So might as well
How do you rma I never done it
Search the world's information, including webpages, images, videos and more. Google has many special features to help you find exactly what you're looking for.
Just google?
If You bought through Newegg it's easy
You're smart. You built a whole PC minus breaking the USB 3 header. You got this broski 👍
The motherboard is from amazon
Either send it back and get a new one (I prefer this tbh) or RMA it through the motherboard's manufacturer
There is a customer service in the app
Sending it back and getting a new one would be easiest on Amazon
Fastest
You just need to re package it, and mail it back
They give you Amazon credit for it if i remember right
Equal value
Amazon will just resell it to somebody who doesn't need USB 3 lol (on their used items section of course)
You nice
Damnnn that sucks
Oh nice hope it works out
💀
you never know what might be in it
for 350 it might actually be good
I think fast boot isn't on
You don't want fast boot on with ssd
Maybe I'll get it give it an SSD and re sell
W/o fastboot I still cold boot faster than my keyboard is recognized.
Do you guys think its smarter to just return everything I got and then drive to a micro center? but its like 2-3 hours away
Best Buy price matches online advertised prices. Check their site for boards and compare to pcpartpicker and microcenter prices to find it cheaper and have their customer service price match. You can pick up same day ordering online or go in the store and ask the cashier to price match. They'll verify the price on their machine and discount it.
not me for a year before I knew what storage I needed
IMO, I doubt he was booting from an hdd if he knows that it's booting slow, as he likely has prior knowledge to compare it to. I'd say it's more likely a memory issue, followed by windows, then mobo, then cpu, in decreasing orders of likelihood
I need help, so i accidentally kicked my pcs power cable while it was on and now my motherboard wont detect my m.2 at all. In any of the two slots. It was my primary boot drive. I have two hdds that are detected fine but none of the m.2 slots work. Motherboard is MSI B550-A Pro
Ive switched from uefi to csm and still no detection
Is there another computer you can test it in?
Sadly not, or I wouldve already
It's fairly likely the drive is toast
Good news is this would be covered under warranty
Good. I'd recommend taking advantage of that. Maybe don't go into too much detail how it happened, it's just not detected any more.
Where exactly would i go to report that? I bought it off amazon so
Did you buy it within the last 30 days
Then Team would handle it
https://support.teamgroupinc.com/en/support/repair.php
How to claim warranty. Repair your TEAMGROUP's product from around the world.
Alright thanks, ill contact them
the one i just posted in tech deals
I had that copied and ready to paste lmao
its c tier
Good enough for this test build
yeah im no psu wizard
@mossy venture I’m forgetting a gpu
Any $100-150 cards you can think of
Needs to be nvidia card, I want to mess around with it under the hood
yeah not much new
anythnig equivelant to or better than a 1070
Is the 1070 turbo Amy decent?
Could probably get a 2060 for $150 but 1070 would probably be a better deal
Blower cards will be noisy
Under load at least

Still waiting for Kenzie to give me his 5700xt that he got rid of
$114
Sound good?
i need some opinions
yes
id grab
yoo boys
Mate's pc died
He had random blue screens for days leading up to it
What do y'all think?
Dead motherboard? Psu?
depends on which bsod that happened
go with 3060
can you afford a 6700 XT for that price?
it'd beat either handily
like outright
look at used stuff
I doubt you can get a new 3060 after all
@regal blade go on your equivalent of Craigslist/Ebay and look there
used 6700 XT would probably cost about 240 USD
Found a new 3060 12gb for 400
"New"
Yes brand new
USD
AUD
Not possible
just at a cursory glance of Ebay
as I said you want to look for used stuff at this price point because this gen sucks
302 AUD
Brand new =/= good value
are you gonna spend 100 bucks more for 50% less performance?
But I don’t want the risk of getting scammed
eBay Money Back Guarantee covers most transactions on eBay. It means buyers can get their money back if an item didn't arrive, is faulty or damaged, or doesn't match the listing.
If i get from trusted pc stores it’s worth the extra $
LMAO
Hard no
I got scammed hardcore by a "trusted PC store" on my own current rig
Pretty sure that’s eBay US
Ebay does that worldwide
Ye but I’m getting all the parts Instore
I did too
So I’ll check everything when I buy
I literally did
And then the PC didn't arrive the way I ordered it
But hey
who am I to stop you from wasting money on less performance?
Btw just saying I asked what’s better a 4060 or 3060 not give me another option for a gpu
You seem like someone comp stores love to scam
Thought you should be aware that you can get better performance by buying a 6700 XT than either
But ultimately your decision
¯_(ツ)_/¯
is this good?
for how much?
132$
what else is available for that much?
y'know look at the alternatives and go from there
I think the WD is faster and has more endurance so it'd be better in my camp
but both are perfectly fine
5500xt is a lot slower
Okie dokey
What’s the best used card I can get with $185(not including tax) @obsidian wigeon
I got $60 randomly dropped in my acc this morning
6600xt refurbs
Okie dokey
might get a lil too expensive lately
ik ye
How would that 2060+this 5700xt stack against each?
2070 super? Dang
Wonder if I could find any 2080 supers…
doubt that
lol
It was also like MSRP $230 vs the 2060 at $350
does it still have good performance?
Does a 2070 super for $150 sound like a fair deal?
Yeah
I see most selling on ebay for 175-200, 150 is a bit of a bargain for you then
errmmm
been using the system 4 like a week been fine what’s up now lmfao
nvm i loaded defaults then reboot and it worky now
lmfaooo
I did my guy
Look at dms.
??
Oh you mean the people who listed them
Mb
is this a good aio?
a brand i never heard of
send me the link for it
That's one of the best AIOs for Intel
i have ryzen 7800 x 3d
Then you don't need any AIO at all and a single tower cooler is more than enough
i already orderd it🤣
Even a 120mm AIO, which we never recommend using, would be enough for that chip
Well you don't get anything extra except for noise when you go overkill
Mango i think thats a alright Aio
But i never heard of that brand
So you building a budget pc?
Deepcool is a well known brand at this point
Just remember that 3 fans and a pump will always be louder than an air cooler
Havent looked into fans yet which is why im unfamiliar
It’s not a budget pc but I do not want to spend a lot on the Aio
You can always cancel the order and get a $30 air cooler that will look good still and perform the same
il just stay on the deep cool but do you think that its bad or good
or 2 dollars if you looking on temu
get some fans rather than a AIO
You will save
i have a nzxt h6 and uni fans sl infinty
from lian li
you can remove them
It's a good cooler, just way more than you'll ever use
that what i will do but i dont know if i can change the fans on the aio
ok thanks man
yes you can change the fans
@spice dragon basically, return the AIO, and get a good single or cheap dual-tower fan
You’ll save quite a lot of money
update on this, i reinstalled windows on another drive so i can check if disk management detects the m.2. its does but it says unknown. i cant initialize it or anything. When i open disk management i get this window which is for the m.2 but no matter what option i choose (mbr or gpt) it always says "the parameter is incorrect"
it even shows up on task manager, but with no space in it
So the controller works but the nand is not
That is the m.2 slot, yes
I guess I should also be looking for an m2 drive that has windows 10/11 installed already
@stoic island
Cuz then I’d have to spend $120 on buying it
Love finding super budget deals
uh what
I looked up that motherboard to tell you that you can google it
the answer is yes
(specifically NVMe, and not SATA M.2)
Like this
It was an example
But I’m trying to find a 512 with windows installed
Mostly looking for teamgroup or Kingston as they’ve been the cheapest to see on there
installing windows is free
Oh wait
It’s putting it on a new system is the $120
God I really am dumb sometimes
Free if you're smart enough
Temps bad?
@potent portal $95 for a 1660 super sound good?
Wat
That's your GPU temps
Not bad
Yeah?
What does an AIO have to do with the GPU temps
There wasn't an AIO bracket for Nvidia 3000 series GPUs since every brand used different spacing and board layouts
You could 3D print one but you'll need some experience with the proper materials so it doesn't flex or melt
Get an aio for the GPU
And Alphacool makes em
I had an aio on my 3080rtx
And this is a 6800xt anyways, not a 3000 series rtx
Oh AMD, yeah that would work but really just a repaste would be enough most likely
I thought it was the 3080 in your name
Factory paste can be pretty bad
damn i didn't realize there's a market for this
time to start installing windows on ssds all day
$20 for Windows and $40 for the SSD and you sell it for double what you paid
Not a bad hustle
Could possibly get Windows cheaper if you register as a SI
There's of course the potential for bad actors to install illegal copies of Windows or malware
Need help making a build
How much you wanna spend? What country? What do you wanna do with the pc?
US 1.3 max i wanna play bigger games learn editing software and programming
How important is ray tracing to you?
12600kf
good b760m
fx900 pro
a750gl
sama im01
thermalright peerless assassin
Unless you're compiling chrome or something, no need for those cores
silicon power value 6000 cl30
editing
alternatively, 7900x3d+a620m
I guess
Well actually adata is 2$ less 🤓
well then get the adata
loll
I wrote a list without looking at pcpp for 2 days
that should hit somwhere around 1.1-1.3K-ish
Small form factor too
it's practically ITX
@cyan ravine here me out
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/XgMF9c
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7700, Radeon RX 7900 GRE, Cougar Archon 2 Mesh RGB ATX Mid Tower
Oh yeah
Adobe
That list then
if you were doing more freeware based I'd consider nvidia
change psu
GF1 2024 is worse than 2019
prospective B afaik
@hot pasture
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/XRW9YN
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7700, Radeon RX 7900 GRE, Cougar Archon 2 Mesh RGB ATX Mid Tower
I hate when companies do this
Still better than the evga silent pinout change tho
7900 gre in ray tracing is about equivalent to about 3080 level of ray tracing I'd say
I have ethernet
My suggestion
Part List - Intel Core i7-12700KF, GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, SAMA IM01 MicroATX Mini Tower
I'd take the higher single core any day personally but my editing experience is slim to none
7700 is a bit less in multicore but you get AM5 as a platform
they're otherwise like for like really
And way nicer single core
On the 7700
Hows that gonna happen on a b board
Ah

Pbo tho
yeah but then you have the 10% multicore
and the $60 less spent
for the 4070 super
neither list is bad lol
It's an alternative take
also @fossil cedar
AGL MSI is best psu under 100 rn
they do this neat little trick
one sec
Forget angled connectors—MSI just painted it yellow.
Hmm? 7900 gre is cheaper
I want to get into tech
Oh yeah heard about that
"Is the 12vhpwr plugged all the way in?" "I can't see any yellow?" "It's plugged in"
such an ingenius idea
I do like when the psu doesn't melt
Hang out here and talk and ask questions (especially from people with the emote Felix and i have in our name) and you'll learn pretty quick
Ill be here
I think either list will be pretty good tbh
getting fairly close to that minmax point
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7700, Radeon RX 7900 GRE, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
Yeah i like Felix's list too
what my take on that list would be
let's bump these down
Part List - Intel Core i7-12700KF, GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, SAMA IM01 MicroATX Mini Tower
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7700, Radeon RX 7900 GRE, Cougar Archon 2 Mesh RGB ATX Mid Tower
would def recommend sapphire pulse over gigabyte gaming OC
gigabyte radeon decent but sapphire is just goated
Oh right ye
@hot pasture
Just clicked cheapest
Im saving all of these builds
Well duh that's such a dumb design for a halo tier card
you probably wouldn't know which is which blind
tho the 4070S would indeed be a bit better with RT
Yeah that's the biggest diff tbh
RT is all it really has going for it ye
some workstation niches like nvidia optix rendering with blender
everything else is totally comparable
Yeah optix or cuda or whatever but apart from that
ye
@potent portal @earnest olive
There are hundreds of those kind of listings
This should be fine for a 3600, right?
Yes
Though for $7 more this will be a lot quieter
Eh
Is supposed to be an upgradable build
So I’ll stick with stock until ready to upgrade
Oh do you already own one?
If so, I'd just stick with stock then
Ye
Just used Mercari as a reference
Yup just use that for now then, you can decide if the noise is bearable or not
ARGB DUAL RING LIGHTING: Dual ring lighting effect can sync with motherboard via 5V 3-Pin interface to illuminate the build.
PWM SMART CONTROL: 4-Pin PWM control allows for dynamic speed adjustment between 800-2500±10%RPM, Min noise or max airflow.
OUTSTANDING AIRFLOW DESIGN: Top-to-bottom airflow can cooling the CPU first and h...
This unironically looks cool
But it’s not for Amd CPUs
Doubt it would be any better than stock anyways
It just doesn't work well if you want a larger heatsink and fan
Ram and Mobo heatsinks get in the way
Also typically doesn't match airflow direction as well as a tower cooler

@weary galleon https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FpTPdH
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 3600, GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER, DIYPC F2 MicroATX Mini Tower
This is the base of what all I got
I’ll be upgrading it all soon, but needed something to get it started
How soon are you planning to upgrade?
If its not long you might as well just wait and get better parts
Few months
Gotta pay some bills off and then I’ll be back to it
Replacing that case is my #1 priority
Yeah, just be aware it does cost time and money to sell old parts and upgrade
Ye. I’ve been in the flipping business for a few years. Had a little closet devoted to it
These were just barebones parts for a bench
@cyan ravine
I know it’s garbage rn, but read above
I am putting Lian Li SL120's ob both sides of a 27mm radiator. What scews do i need to do so?
at the very minimum change case and ssd
those aren't great
Ssd was free, just forgot to change price
I actually found a deepcool cc560 on marketplace
So I’m gonna get that case after I return it
This is the case, for ref
As soon as I find a decent ssd on eBay, I’ll sell old one
Looking up reviews on the diypc case
Not a lot of negatives
Outside of just the size, not too many complaints
But it’s very small
50 dollars for a 1080 w or L?
no working it turns on but he says it crashes when you load up game
Wouldn’t really take it then
Unless you wanna strip it for parts are resell those parts for repair ig
if i fix it tho i could give it to my freind with my old rx 570
could be drivers thermal paste or just needs a cleaning
"Crashes in games" is a super generic problem. It could be literally anything and if they're selling that cheaply they probably tried to fix it already.
^
well its up for 150 and he just changed the price to 100 if i could get it for 50 would i be worth it
it
Doubtful
Most of those "for parts" cards have been through multiple repair attempts before they got to the current owner
never know i could ask him if he tried he said he just upgraded to a 3070
That's what they all say lol
I've purchased many "for parts" GPUs and every one of them has shown signs of previous failed repairs. Once I got one that had a cracked PCB, which they didn't disclose, and it was obviously because they forgot a screw and tried to rip the cooler off.
im going to ask for a video of what hes describing
if i buy a windows 10 pro oem key i can still update to windows 11 pro right?
Could be literally anything, if you're lucky something like a repaste, if you're unlucky it could be as bad as a reball
Repaste being one of a number of options
yes
and if i have a windows 10 home old usb can i use that to install then just use my key to activate widnows 10 pro
Yes
iirc you cant activate pro keys on home installs
lemme do a quick search
ah
it seems like activating a pro key on a home install will make windows download/unlock features and turn it into a pro installation
Hey everyone, new to this server. But could use some help with deciding on a new graphics card. Currently I am running a GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 2070 Gaming OC 8G GGDR6 DisplayPort 1.4 HDMI 2.0b USB Type-C with Triple Fan Design- GV-N2070GAMING OC-8GC ...... with a motherboard of:
ASUS Prime Z390-A Motherboard LGA1151 (Intel 8th and 9th Gen) ATX DDR4 DP HDMI M.2 USB 3.1 Gen2 Gigabit LAN. ....... and what I was thinking of upgrading to is the: ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER OC Edition Graphics Card...... this is to help with my video editing software (davinci resolve). Any help woud be greatly appreacited!!
what cpu
@somber glacier
and how much ram are you rocking
Gen 3 ssd?
If you're not sure, just find the names of everything you can
Intel Core i9-9900K Desktop Processor 8 Cores up to 5.0 GHz Turbo Unlocked LGA1151 300 Series 95W
And running 2x Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR4 2666 C16 for DDR4 systems - White
Return and product support eligibility
so 2x32?
or 2x16?
for ram
Follow up question after that, if you can give me the EXACT name of the power supply, that would be mega
so I have a total of 64gb for the ram 4x 16gb sticks
adn this is my power supply: CORSAIR HXi Series, HX850i, 850 Watt, 80+ Platinum Certified, Fully Modular - Digital Power Supply
and this is my cooler: CORSAIR HYDRO Series H115i PRO RGB AIO Liquid CPU Cooler, 280mm Radiator, Dual 140mm ML Series PWM Fans, RGB Lighting and Fan Software Control, Intel 115x/2066, AMD AM4
no lost windows at any point?
ya system works great, just lags now while im trying to edit videos
thank you i appreacite it!
@somber glacier when did you buy this hxi
built the computer in 2019
ok should still be perfectly fine
last question
do you know the name of your ssd that you work on
this could be separate to your windows SSD, or the same one
Yes so my main one i work off of is this:
Samsung 970 EVO NVMe Series 1TB M.2 PCI-Express 3.0 x 4 Solid State Drive (V-NAND)
then I added another 2TB in 2023
hold on getting that for you now
no worries
Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD 2TB NVMe M.2 Internal Solid State Hard Drive w/ V-NAND Technology, Storage and Memory Expansion for Gaming, Graphics w/ Heat Control, Max Speed, MZ-V7S2T0B/AM
everything seems solid so far, just making sure you have good storage here as the ssd will dictate the scrubbing speed in davinci
ok awesome
No complaints here, just grab this GPU
but im working off of the 1tb
you could honestly work off either of them
but thanks for all the info, makes this dead easy
The dual should be perfectly fine
very strong 4070S
and it's MSRP
You're US based ye?
If not, just the cheapest you can find, that isn't "MSI VENTUS 2x"
ya US based. Cool so thing by upgrading to that GC card I dont need to upgrade my power or motherboard right?
nah
Everything seems fine
If your case supports it, a new AIO may help with 9900K temps
if it's throttling
which would be this one
or rather
this one which I believe comes with way better fans
But if your temps are fine, don't fix what ain't broken imo
awesome, thank you @cyan ravine for all your help and knowledge, greatly appreciate it!
np

If you still find it's a bit underwhelming for your needs after swapping gpu, come back and we'll talk a CPU and RAM upgrade
one last questions actually for the CPU cooler you sent, how big a difference would the two to three fans be?
ok cool
So the 2 fan 280 is fine
I'm guessing that's what your h115i is ye?
iirc that's a 280mm, hence me picking a 280
could be there psu drivers or i just need to repaste it i wiling to take the chance
for fun heres a sonic white build for $911 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8RzCPF
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600KF, GeForce RTX 4060, Montech AIR 100 ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower
Depends how much the dude bothered to try fix it
Love it except for the GPU
though it's white
it almost gets a pass
gotta be white
almost gets a pass
can someone help me with my computer?
did find this
my theme
well you arent wrong
lmao
yeahhh I'm not seeing equivalent white
ok
I concede sir
ohp
wait
💀
at tht point
yoooo
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600KF, Radeon RX 7600, Montech AIR 100 ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower
$900 sonic build
$785?
$664 white build
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6600, GameMax M60 MicroATX Mid Tower
unlikely
but you never know
non-zero chance
the sonic build has ddr5 wifi and some nice features
yes but $250 more

well you lose the included fans with the case but god damn thats cheap and u lose wifi
nvm the board is kinda trash
I mean
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600KF, Radeon RX 7600, GameMax M60 MicroATX Mid Tower
tru
?
basically paying 25 for wifi tho
yeah I can't beat that
840 is pretty low tho
tru
ideally
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600KF, Radeon RX 7600, GameMax M60 MicroATX Mid Tower
But that's dummy low
intel really dropped the bar
that's easily better than 7600 ryzen
if you factor in the free ssd deal
almost equal
tbh id prefer the other case
sure
