Odds are the CPU itself is fine, so it would either be a bad cooler mount causing some pins to not contact right or the motherboard

That depends on just how sensitive the data is. Most people can get away with just erasing the partitions and running the SSD TRIM command so it recycles all the sectors correctly. If you're paranoid, delete the partitions, create a new one, run the CCleaner disk wipe (1 pass only or you can ruin the drive), then delete the partition and TRIM.
