the imc was also shot

#

I see someone else saying 225w at 1.328v

cyan ravine
#

Hey

#

Hey

earnest olive
#

I was running above that

cyan ravine
#

12900K obeyed tdp

#

It is

#

The only chip💀

#

But it obeyed

#

253W

earnest olive
#

even in p95?

#

my 13700k wants way more than 253w at stock with pl removed

cyan ravine
#

I have no idea, can't remember lol

#

Also my phone is dying in the next like 2 minutes

earnest olive
#

pretty sure even stock wants 400w+

cyan ravine
#

Nah my 12900kf never wanted that much

earnest olive
#

on my 13700k

cyan ravine
#

Oh that would

#

Yes

earnest olive
#

but I can only cool up to a 360w spike

cyan ravine
#

Remember when they stopped at 330

#

Those were the days

earnest olive
#

remember when they stopped at 80

#

oh wait that was just my 7800x3d

#

💀

cyan ravine

cyan ravine
#

6%

earnest olive
#

6% only lasts you 2 minutes of discord?

cyan ravine
#

It's a trap

#

It says 6% but it's actually 1%

earnest olive
#

bro overclocked his phone

cyan ravine
#

I did

earnest olive
#

you know the salesman told me I could overclock this phone and my eyes went wide

#

and I asked him if there was voltage control

cyan ravine
#

It's gonna die any minute now

earnest olive
#

and he was like "what"

#

"overclocking means changing graphics settings"

cyan ravine
#

"Changing screen to 120hz"

earnest olive
#

I wanted to daily an undervolted phone 😔

#

lmao I changed it from 120hz to 60hz

cyan ravine
#

That's my main issue

#

I just daily 120hz now

#

And I know it's dumb

#

But I can't go back 💀

earnest olive
#

I can't tell the difference between 60hz and 120hz on a phone

cyan ravine
#

I really can

potent portal
cyan ravine
#

On this phone it's really noticeable

earnest olive
#

my old phone had a 1440p screen and I dailied that at 720p and could barely tell the difference

cyan ravine
#

OLED go brrr

earnest olive
#

3 days of battery life was pretty cool

cyan ravine
#

I never thought of that, I should just put down the reso

earnest olive
#

I think mine is oled too

cyan ravine
#

Welp I'm still going

#

But any second now it dies then I'm charging the phone

#

Lol

earnest olive
#

sadly my new phone has no res control

#

stuck at 2560x1080

earnest olive
#

faster charging

#

like yeah +5v would be safer but who cares what your phone is actually designed for when you could have speed

#

my old phone came with a 65w brick and I was actually kinda scared of that thing

potent portal
#

It probably only charged at that wattage up to like 30% though

earnest olive
#

negative

potent portal
#

50%?

earnest olive
#

I only tested it once but out of the box it took my phone to 70% in like 3 minutes LOL

#

never found out if it's limited

potent portal
#

Wow, it would be fun to watch that attached to a kill-a-watt and see

earnest olive
#

my mom still has the brick

#

gave it to her after she got an iphone and it didn't come with one

crimson zinc
#

So it has great airflow, part compatibility/size to fit hefty parts, and has quality build materials?

south cliff
#

Sold my pc for 1800

#

Big w

plucky timber
#

DAMN

#

You can build an entirely new rig

south cliff
#

I know but I don’t think he wants to do all of that and he just said he wants it for the 3090 for the 24gb of vram

crimson zinc
#

much better investment, just gotta buy all the other accessories

south cliff
#

Your right

south cliff
#

Also is the m.2 sad good i saw it was only like 5300mpbs but some other ones go up to 7000

mossy venture
#

It's cheap asf rn

#

$155

#

If you dont want to spend that much, either the one felix linked, ud90, mp44l, or gm7000

south cliff
mossy venture
#

Yes

south cliff
#

I’m probably gonna get it

mossy venture
#

Not trying to be rude by saying this or anything but I wouldn't suggest it if it wasn't lol

south cliff
#

Like what I was saying is like is it good compared to the others you recommended

mossy venture
#

Ah

#

For gaming it's mostly irrelevant honestly

south cliff
#

More storage but less speed or less storage but more speed

mossy venture
#

As long as you have an ssd for boot drive you don't see much of a difference between the fastest gen 5 ssd and a hard drive in gaming

#

And the difference between a p3 plus and a gm7000 is almost negligible side by side

south cliff
#

But load times are quicker compared to my 2.5 inch ssd

mossy venture
#

I mean yeah?

south cliff
#

I’m stupid

#

I thought you meant load times

mossy venture
#

I have a sata and a p41 plus in the same system and don't see much of a difference

south cliff
#

You mean like game performance

mossy venture
#

I mean overall including load times

#

It'll be faster yeah

#

Maybe a couple seconds I'd imagine at most

#

Basically

south cliff
#

But also I don’t gotta plug a extra power supply cable in and I get to remove hard drive cage

#

So that’s good

mossy venture
#

As long as you're not doing a couple certain workstation tasks

south cliff
#

Nah I only play Roblox

mossy venture
#

Any nvme ssd as long as it isn't a drive known for failing or having issues, it's fine

south cliff
#

And like helldivers

mossy venture
#

It won't be enough of a difference to really matter

south cliff
#

I’ll get the p3 plus

#

4 tb for 166

#

Is pretty good

mossy venture
#

Best value ssd we've seen since prices have risen I think

south cliff
#

Taxes are crazy

mossy venture
#

Hell even 1tb prices can't compare

#

$58 for a decent 1tb minimum as of late

south cliff
#

Can’t wait to see the difference between a ryzen 7 7800x3d and a 4080 from a 12600k and 3090

#

First time having a amd cpu

mossy venture
#

I'm hoping to upgrade to a 4070 super-4080 tier gpu later this year or next year

#

Also hoping new oleds are much cheaper

south cliff
#

What do you have now

analog hearth
#

Still better than a hard drive

south cliff
#

Yeah I used to have a 2 tb hdd and a 1tb 2.5 inch ssd so it should be better because I don’t gotta use any data cables I can remove the hdd cage and I don’t gotta use psi cables to plug the SATA hdd and ssd in so it will be good for cable management

obsidian wolf
#

For unreal engine 5 what would be better the 4060 ti with 16gb of vram or the 3070 non ti 8gb?

#

can not find any graphics comparison online, and looking to see if anyone here is more adapt to the topic

obsidian wigeon
#

3070 tbh

obsidian wolf
#

alright, what would you think be the metric comparison?

#

any actual noticeable difference?

mossy venture
#

And im assuming you're developing games on unreal engine 5?

obsidian wigeon
#

Price matters the most tbh

obsidian wolf
#

this one can be downed to 435$

mossy venture
#

I'd imagine it's a matter of vram

obsidian wolf
#

with promo

mossy venture
#

At least, at this close of a price

obsidian wigeon
#

435, oof

mossy venture
#

But there might be better options as well

#

One sec

obsidian wolf
#

and then there's this one

#

350$

#

but i know my friend will not only be doing un5

#

I know he'll play video games as well

#

and Im thinking on the factor that radeom is to slow for it

#

so nvidia is the pick here

#

but also that 8gb of vram is to low already

#

that if you want to play high quality

mossy venture
#

On zotac store there's a $300 3070

#

That'd be better value

#

Is an nvidia gpu required for unreal engine 5?

#

Ah you just said that mb

obsidian wolf
#

Is much faster than radeom that is

#

even my 6950xt would be slow

#

in un5

mossy venture
#

Are you sure that holds true with 7000 serejs too?

obsidian wolf
#

mmm, the research show

mossy venture
#

7000 series improved a lot in a lot of workstation tasks

obsidian wolf
#

only high end

#

7000 series

obsidian wigeon
#

I think it's to do with nanite

mossy venture
#

Ah alr

#

Ok lemme take a look around

obsidian wolf
#

thx 🙂

mossy venture
#

There's the 3070 I mentioned

mossy venture
#

3070 is around 10% better than 4060 ti raw perf wise

#

In ue5 4060 ti might be better, especially if he needs more than 8gb vram

obsidian wolf
#

yeah

obsidian wolf
#

Thx a lot

crimson zinc
#

This case

#

Is massive

obsidian wolf
#

nonetheless!

south cliff
#

I should be able to buy all of the pc parts tomorrow besides the ssd I will have to wait maybe a week to order is there another 4080 that is cheaper so I can buy everything together or is that zotac open box 4080 the cheapest

#

Ah nvm it’s out of stock that sucks

mossy venture
#

Yeah, but it'll likely come back in stock

#

There won't be anything like that deal otherwise tho, at least I highly highly doubt it

south cliff
#

Alright hoping one come in stock tommorow

#

500 is pretty good price

#

But since I know I can fit a 4080 into my budget with the zotac I will just wait till it comes back in stock

crimson zinc
#

Ez, just make your entire budget a 4090

south cliff
#

I wish

cyan ravine
#

Sata SSD's are completely fine in gaming systems, but M.2's cost only a little bit more on average so we suggest those instead for a meaningful boost

crimson zinc

cyan ravine

you could do 7600 if you wanted to flip the cooler on ebay

#

you'd break even....lol

#

after these^ the build would be 100% white

#

But I wouldn't suggest changing anything the way it is rn

#

quite literally almost anything else except the ram would result in a huge performance drop

#

Alternatively

#

This is way better if you're willing to learn a bit about making an XMP profile (takes 10 minutes)

#

but I've thrown white out the window

#

The gist of it is I've basically thrown all the money out of the CPU for an intel-equivalent* and into the GPU, and the result is something about 20%-ish faster

little osprey

Does anyone know of a gaming monitor? Atleast 0.5ms or less 360hz?

potent portal

What kind of budget for the monitor

little osprey

can't its fine

little osprey
potent portal

Probably 1080p since you're looking at 360hz

little osprey

my gaming laptop is 360hz so am looking for one with the same hzs

potent portal
cyan ravine

but the price is horrendous

not even 360hz lmao

potent portal

yeah that's as good as it gets

$300 is so cringe tho

potent portal
potent portal

Probably doing esports games if I had to guess and all the pros use high refresh 1080p set to weird resolutions anyway

540hz is kind of worth it tho with ulmb2

beating literally anything else

prior to that, you have this gap, where between $300 and $600, nothing is really qualitative

little osprey

No way I can get one under 400

crimson zinc

crimson zinc

rain carbon

im all into audio so trust me when i say spending a little more on a good pair of headphones is SO much better in the long run, they practically pay for themselves since they last forever

crimson zinc

cyan ravine

Lol

rain carbon

same here tbh

cyan ravine
#

It's like buying a ferrari for a business statement

crimson zinc

I don’t explain good

rain carbon

120 is still considered more budget in the audiophile world

#

and the value on the pc38x is absurd

theyll last you a lifetime and its VERY easy to replace parts

sennies are stupid easy to work on and repair

crimson zinc
#

I want my graphical stuff to be as high tier as possible. I am 100% comfortable spending many bucks on those

But I don’t really need to spend $100 on a headset that I won’t play things needing it for.

youll be happy with those, just be aware since its open back youll be able to hear through them + if you have any body who stays in a general area where you do theyll be able to hear your stuff as well

cyan ravine

A lot of what I've seen written so far can be beat by cheaper choices in the market

crystal chasm
#

Also Europe prices are not as nice as us so makes life a bit harder

cyan ravine
#

Ye all good

#

Which part of europe btw

crimson zinc
#

Now I just need a keyboard to go with the deathadder essential

crystal chasm
#

France, but I got my parts a bit all over… I can get parts in Germany, Swiss and Italy too

cyan ravine
#

Wait for a 4090 sale

#

Anything over 1600 just isn't worth it

#

Or rather

#

Any 4090 in general isn't worth it now that the 4080 super exists

#

In fact

#

Not that

#

The zotac 4080 deal is just way too good

#

Half price

#

Much better

#

@crystal chasm is the 1800 the budget including what you bought

#

I'm going to assume yes

crystal chasm
#

No

#

1800 is for the rest that is still missing

cyan ravine
crystal chasm
#

No , already have one

cyan ravine
#

Ok so just the tower

crystal chasm
#

Yes

cyan ravine
#

You got the 990 4tb for 230?

crystal chasm
#

Yes

#

It was a good promo

cyan ravine
#

Ok yes that was good

#

Make sure you update the firmware with it, it's unlikely to have it now, but they had a huge scandal a while back

#

990's and 980's were bricking themselves

#

And samsung wouldn't honor the warranty

crystal chasm
#

Yeah all good with that, it was the first thing I checked

crystal chasm
cyan ravine
#

Hmmm

#

I'm 500 short

#

What I have so far

#

Germany seems to be the cheapest

#

The psu I can say for or against swapping

#

For a good reason

crystal chasm
#

😂 500 damn

cyan ravine
#

If you intend to do cable swaps, then do the RMe

#

But if not, swapping for the gf3 might be worth

#

Both are good units

#

I believe they both only have a noisy fan is the only catch 22

#

As far as GPU, you could go 4080 super if you feel inclined to specific games with RT

crystal chasm
#

I don’t think I can change the psu anymore

#

Oh nooo, noisy ? I was trying to have a quiet build 🙃

cyan ravine
#

In fact now that I think about it, editing you'll.want nvidia somewhat, especially if you use blender

cyan ravine
#

RMe, the e stands for economic

crystal chasm
cyan ravine
#

So they made a great unit, but cut back things from the RM and RMx

#

Such as extra cable capacitance

crystal chasm
#

Oh well I didn’t know what to get and that one had a deal so I checked psu tier list and bought it 🤷🏽‍♂️

cyan ravine
#

I might see if there's a slightly better board for a tiny bit more

#

What's there is already really strong though

#

It'll run a 7950x all day

crystal chasm

Can you fit an aio? I prefer the aesthetics

Sure

I recently bought the iPason 5600 g and am trying to install a second gpu. Sorry for my ignorance: I can’t figure out how to power it from the computer. I don’t have anywhere to plug in the 8 pin pci

cyan ravine
#

You may have to measure if the aio fits tho @crystal chasm

#

If not get arctic lf3 240mm

#

There are also rgb versions for both the cooler and fans

ashen swift
#

I saw a prebuilt pc for 1100€ and its specs were:
i5-12400F
4060 ti
32gb ddr4 ram
I dont feel like it is worth it. Am i right? Which cpu and gpu (general build not really specific) would you recommend me for a 1000-1100 budget. Any help is appreciated :) thx!

potent portal
#

Which country? So we can localize suggestions

cyan ravine
#

Unless you mean the 5600g ryzen

ember garnet
#

I do mean that

cyan ravine
#

Which goes into the motherboard

ember garnet
#

Sorry

ashen swift
cyan ravine
#

@ember garnet it goes into an AM4 motherboard in the square slot

ember garnet
#

About to google that

#

Thank you for taking the time to answer this

cyan ravine
#

The power is the 24 pin and 8 pin on the right side and top side

ember garnet
#

So when I bought it, there is stuff already plugged into that

cyan ravine
ember garnet
#

Oh, I see you are saying that is literally the power

cyan ravine
#

See that grey square on the top right

#

Big grey square

#

Dead centre

ember garnet
#

Yes

cyan ravine
#

That's where the 5600g goes

#

They have instructions with said motherboard how to put it in

#

The power..., one sec I'll circle them

ember garnet
#

OK I’m about to get home and try this. Thank you so much.

#

I apologize ahead of time if I come back in 10 minutes and ask for more

#

😂

#

I called the company and they said to come on here and ask you people lol

potent portal
# ashen swift me? spain

You could probably get a system with a 7800 XT or 6800 XT if you're lucky or build it yourself. Either of those would be significantly better than the 4060 ti. The 12400 is a good balanced budget option right now, and I'd recommend something with DDR5 so it can be easily upgraded.

cyan ravine
#

@ember garnet

cyan ravine
ember garnet
#

OK, let me take you a picture.

#

No seriously you are right they were like we can’t help you look on this and sent me the link

#

lol

cyan ravine
#

Lol

#

Maybe it's time I ask for a salary or christmas present from them

ember garnet
#

I think that would be appropriate

#

I’ve never use this app before, so I guess I can’t attach a picture? I am here looking at the computer, and since it is prebuilt, they already have stuff plugged into the eight pin and the 24 pin slot.

cyan ravine
#

Oh yeah you'll get the ability to send pictures in a little bit

#

If we keep talking

ember garnet
#

Cool

cyan ravine
#

So question, is the cpu in the square

#

Does the motherboard, have a square

potent portal
#

You can always DM a pic and we can look at it or post it for you until the bot assigns your role

ember garnet
#

The CPU is plugged into the eight pin thing

cyan ravine
#

Mm

#

Was it already plugged in

#

Oh wait you answered that

ember garnet
#

Do you guys care if I just DM you a picture? I feel like I might be wasting your time giving the wrong information.

cyan ravine
#

Ye alright

ember garnet
#

Thanks

ember garnet
#

Cool thanks

cyan ravine
#

One sec I will circle this

#

See this

ember garnet
#

OK so I did that. Sorry I should’ve told you that, but I can’t figure out how to power the damn thing.

cyan ravine
#

Align the gpu so the text "geforce rtx" is the right way around

#

Oh ok

ember garnet
#

I’ve inserted it into that. I just didn’t take the picture of it because I took it out.

cyan ravine
#

Alright so the power is called pcie power

ember garnet
#

Thanks

cyan ravine
#

So can I just check what specific gpu is it called

#

Then I might ask if I can check the full name of the power supply to make sure it's up to par

ember garnet
#

GeForce rtx 4600

cyan ravine
#

Ah ok I know which one that is

#

Ok and can you read me the full name of the power supply

ember garnet
#

Where would I find that?

cyan ravine
#

So you know where all the power cables came from

#

That box is the power supply

ember garnet
#

Got it segotep rp650

cyan ravine
#

Ok sweet give me a minute

#

Ok I'm glad I checked

ember garnet
#

Thanks for checking

cyan ravine
#

@ember garnet does this have a white label on it that says 80 plus

ember garnet
#

Yes

cyan ravine
#

Ok I found the unit

ember garnet
#

Cool

cyan ravine
#

Ok yep

#

Ok I have a bit of a healthy suggestion here

#

I cannot confirm how safe that psu unit is

ember garnet
#

Ok

cyan ravine
#

Usually when the psu label is white and says only 80 plus

#

It's a foreshadowing sign it's not got good safeties

night rock
ember garnet
#

Uh oh

cyan ravine
#

So I'm gonna link a $51 unit

#

I'd suggest swapping to that if you can

ember garnet
#

Ok - safety like catch on fire?

cyan ravine
#

Ye

ember garnet
#

Oi

#

Thanks for that info.

cyan ravine
#

There's a basic level of safeties that come with decent units. On the very cheap ones, they strip them out

#

Which...in normal circumstances

#

Perfectly fine

#

It's when things are not normal

#

Weeellll

ember garnet
#

Yeah, I don’t wanna take any chances

cyan ravine
#

Then it's a bit of potluck

#

^$51.99

#

Cheapest decent unit I know

ember garnet
#

Is it easy to swap out or should I take it into a computer store?

cyan ravine
#

The segotep may in fact be fine, but I can't find any information on it, and the 80 plus white sticker is concerning, so I'd say this would be the ideal scenario

ember garnet
#

My instinct is that you are right. My kiddo bought this with his dad and was thrilled with how cheap it is but expect it to run like a really expensive one so I am guessing that safety is probably not great on this one.

cyan ravine
#

If you swap the psu alone, then swap each cable as you go, it can be quite straightforward

#

Or vice versa

ember garnet
#

Ok easy enough.

cyan ravine
#

Now the cable for the gpu

#

It's a 6+2 or 8 pin pcie cable

ember garnet
#

I have that

cyan ravine
#

6+2 meaning what the end looks like

#

They should clip together and click into the gpu

#

Only goes in one way

ember garnet
#

Yep it does work that way

#

I just can’t figure out where to plug in the other end

cyan ravine
#

The other end goes into the psu

ember garnet
#

Oh!

cyan ravine
#

Assuming this is a cable that came with the psu yes

ember garnet
#

No, I had to buy it

cyan ravine
#

Sorry, power supply = psu

#

Ah

#

Don't -

#

Don't use that

cyan ravine
#

Last part, "the end points are shuffled"

#

So if it's not a perfect match to the existing psu, KABOOM

#

Lol

ember garnet
#

lol

#

Yeah, the PSU came with no extra cables

cyan ravine
#

Right, yeah, so I'd look at just swapping the unit then

#

No risk that way

ember garnet
#

Yeah, I am going to get the one that you suggested

#

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me!

@night rock we just noticed the list was canadian lol

Hold on let me start over kekw

Lolol

#

For this, I'd still upgrade to 1440p

#

Only this time it's much more canadian

My bad. I didn't see the list was .ca, I only saw the .io @night rock lol

can someone help with input between two prebuilts?

#

@cyan ravine

#

or

#

^would add 32gb ram to this one

mossy venture
#

Like not even compared to a custom build, even for a pre built it's really bad value

#

Here's one option

floral flame
#

would you say that is better then both of the links i have sent ?

mossy venture
#

Yes 100%

#

4060 is embarrassingly bad

#

Here's another option

#

4060 at times loses to the 3060

#

But at that price for the whole build it's not bad ($850)

floral flame
#

definitely more of an amd guy then intel

mossy venture
#

And im still looking for other options

floral flame
#

i like the ebay link a lot

mossy venture
#

Why

#

Cpu is cpu

#

Performance is performance especially with cpus

floral flame
#

im not sure, i kind of just always stuck with amd

stoic island
#

3080 is around 50% better than 4060

mossy venture
#

Isn't it more like 60-70? 3080 is around 30% better than 3060 ti, 3060 ti around 30% better than 4060

mossy venture
#

The ebay link is better value tho

floral flame
#

so the ebay link it is!

#

unless you find me something better again lol

#

really saved me here. thank you

#

and i should add more ram to the ebay link right? @mossy venture

#

to 32

mossy venture
#

Yep, 32gb 3600c18 ram should be around $60

stoic island
mossy venture
stoic island
#

Like we say 4060 is basically a 3060 because it's 10% or less in difference but when rounding like that the error can stack up

mossy venture
#

Well it also varies a lot, 4060 at times loses to the 3060 due to the bandwidth limitation

floral flame
#

@mossy venture thank you very much!

stoic island
#

Ye, I think average is somewhere around 5% (?) gains though at 1440p

mossy venture
#

Np!

#

Lemme link the ram rq

floral flame
#

yeah i was gonna ask. the description says ddr4 3200 mhz, shouldnt i find ram sticks thats are also 3200 ?

#

or does that not matter

mossy venture
#

I'd just replace the sticks in there instead of adding to them

#

So nah, cpu and mobo will both handle 3600mhz for sure

floral flame
#

copy

#

i love you ❤️

#

saved me money and found better. very grateful

mossy venture
#

Happy to, enjoy and feel free to ping me if you find anything else you want to compare or consider

floral flame
#

Thank you. will do

ember garnet

Does anyone know how to get this PSU out or how I can access the cables on this? I see them behind the screen. This is the ryzen 5600 G.

Everything I read, says it should fit through the screen but it doesn’t

stoic island
#

and it looks like the back panel is already unscrewed?

ember garnet

Got it!! Thanks so much

crimson zinc
#

@small sail what’s up

small sail
#

Hey, so uh I'm wondering if I may need to go for a full rig upgrade sometime

crimson zinc
#

What’s your current?

small sail
#

You're gonna scoff at how old but:

crimson zinc
#

And do you have a budget for a new one?

small sail
#

Motherboard- PRIME A320M-K CPU- AMD Ryzen 1400 Quad Core Processor GPU- NVIDIA Geforce 1060 3 GB

#

I believe so

#

Admittingly I'm not knowledgable about this stuff and I've never upgraded my pc from 2018 lol

crimson zinc
#

I think I almost had you beat with how old my parts were in my first pc.

But it’s alright. You don’t have to know too much!

#

What’s your budget?

small sail
#

I'd say $200 for CPU, $300 for a GPU

#

Idk if I'd have to get a new motherboard

#

I've also got 16GB of RAM

crimson zinc
small sail
crimson zinc
#

Should be good for you

#

Could go for a 5800x instead

#

@mossy venture

#

Any other ideas

small sail
#

Yeah I'd like a stronger CPU, I may consider the 5800x but the RTX 3060 looks more than fine to me

#

Thanks!

crimson zinc
#

I’d get a double check from a techie

small sail
#

Ok

crimson zinc
#

Like @stoic island or someone

#

I’m still a bit new to helping, but I’ve learned a little bit from them.

small sail
#

Also when you upgrade from a such a jump, do you have to get a drive and manually install the new BIOS of the CPU?

#

Someone recommended I get a SATA SSD to transfer

crimson zinc
#

A good ssd will give you one hell of a boost in performance.

small sail
#

Will going from a 7-8 year old CPU and GPU also see a massive boost in performance do you believe?

crimson zinc
#

If you could spare more, I could suggest an alternative build, so you could avoid a headache.

small sail
#

I mainly play shooters and Paradox games like EU4/HOI4 so

crimson zinc
#

I played on a gtx 960, jumped to a 6700xt. Night and day.

small sail
#

Also I have an ACER Predator monitor and that goes to 165hz

crimson zinc
#

From low settings at 40 fps
To high at 120

small sail
#

Damn, with maxed settings?

crimson zinc
#

Yes.

small sail
#

That must be nuts lol

#

Cause' I can't even get my GPU of course to even reach 100 fps

crimson zinc
#

Pc building can be wonders going from old tech to new.

#

What would be your maximum possible budget if you were to get an entirely new pc? (Selling all your old parts and such too)

crimson zinc
#

It might be worth doing that instead, to take advantage of better cases, storage, etc etc.

small sail
#

Although GPUs seem to be the most expensive to replace so

small sail
crimson zinc
crimson zinc
small sail
#

I was in denial for a while and thought I had a good CPU and GPU and age wouldn't affect it much, but with newer games I can't even run them and I'm not getting good fps

#

I'm content with a mid-range GPU tbh, but I wonder how much they generally cost

#

Also I have 600 W, is that plenty?

crimson zinc
#

Yes.

#

Lemme make you a list.

#

You don’t intend to upgrade any peripherals, right?

small sail
#

Not really, my fans are pretty new too and my power supply seems ok, it's a Thermaltake 600W power supply that came with my pc, the fans I just replaced 2 years ago and reach 2000 rpm

#

Peripherals I've already upgraded, my keyboard, monitor, and mouse are great, less than 3 years old

#

My peripheral specs: Acer Predator monitor, Razer Deathadder Elite mouse, and a Corsair keyboard

crimson zinc
#

If you can manage a few more bucks, I can put a better gpu in there

weary galleon
crimson zinc
#

Oh wait

small sail

It is

crimson zinc
#

It is

I clicked the 8GB?
Fat fingers

small sail
#

Np ahaha

crimson zinc
#

There

small sail
#

Thanks!

crimson zinc
#

Do you think you could go a little extra for a better gpu? Or is that fine for you?

small sail
#

Oh jeeze my Thermaltake case is so old too, I'd probably have to upgrade that too to accomodate a new CPU and GPU?

#

Honestly a mid-tier GPU would be fine

crimson zinc
small sail
#

$220 for a GPU is really good to me, would you consider that a mid-tier GPU?

weary galleon
#

6600xt/6650xt would probably be better value than 3050 8gb

crimson zinc
#

Good thought

#

Something like this?

small sail
#

Wait....the Gigabyte B550 UD AC ATX AM4 motherboard only costs $100?! I was thinking getting a new motherboard would cost like $500-700?

small sail
mossy venture
#

Power supply sorry, not gpu

weary galleon
#

Yeah they're $240ish rn so $20 more than the 3050 for a considerable perf increase

crimson zinc
small sail
mossy venture
#

Is it the 80+ white?

small sail
#

Smart Series from like 2018

mossy venture
#

If so I'd replace it, it's known for killing pcs especially as it ages

small sail
#

Hmm I'm not sure

mossy venture
#

Do you use wifi or ethernet atm?

#

And what's the most you'd want to spend for the whole upgrade to your pc

small sail
#

Ethernet

#

Total I'd say less than $500

#

I like the case and my peripherals are fine

mossy venture
#

Kk lemme look at a few options rq

cyan ravine
#

what case

small sail
#

Thanks guys, appreciate it!

#

Thermaltake from 2018, I forget the exact model

crimson zinc
#

Bacca and Felix come in to save the day(and your wallet)

cyan ravine

small sail

I'm not too knowledgable, what's a mesh?

cyan ravine
#

like a side of the panel that allows air in

it's like a mesh, a net?

more sturdy than a net

small sail

Ohhhhhhh right right ahah

That's all I know, and I've been afraid to upgrade cause' I don't want to mess up any components without consulting people who know about this stuff

mossy venture
#

Your mobo should be able to support 5000 series with a bios update, but it isn't exactly the best motherboard
