how dare you apologize for helping me
So this is one of the cables that is in my case but there’s no where on the motherboard or power supply to put it so do we need this one or is it just for lights?
My online motherboard manual says something about a data hard disk drive. Do I need to go buy one of these?
Vetroo 1000W White Power Supply ATX 3.0 Ready Dual PCIe 5.0, 80 Plus Gold Full Modular
What y’all think abt that
it just means any storage device
like a sata ssd or m2 if supported will work
How do yall here feel when you get asked the same questions all the time
Id imagine it gets repetitive
Yeah it’s just Felix only gave me the 2 tb storage for the motherboard. I’m just not sure if I need the sata drive for my pc to turn on or not
My case manuals telling me I need an ssd or hdd drive so wonder if I need to buy one or not in order to get my pc turned on
All you need is 1 drive of any kind connected internally and it should be able to boot
Doesn't matter if it's a m.2 SSD or 2.5in SSD or 3.5in HDD
Rely on your motherboard manual for anything about operating it, case manual only tells you where things go
I'd find a better PSU from a more reputable brand.
Are there any reliable extension brands that would change my psu cord to 12vhpwr
Bc I can keep the one I have if I get that connector
What PSU do you have?
Qp850w
So do you own that one already or are you looking to buy a PSU with a 12VHPWR connector?
Well I ordered it unaware it didn’t have one
I was just gonna send it back but I wanted to go ahead and order whatever my replacement is but if I don’t have to I won’t
Cancel the order. Has it shipped?
Yeah
That’s why I’m tryna find out of if I should get a new one or if a connector or extension will work
Welp you got a couple of options, if you want to use extensions you can. Cable mod has just the 12VHPWR extension by itself...or sells it with a kit for all your cables.
It doesn’t have one for mine I already checked
It doesn’t have cables
I don’t know abt extensions because idk what im plugging into what
Extensions will work with any PSU they are universal
Wait would this work then or should I just go with an extension
Keep in mind cablemod just recalled some of them
https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2024/GPU-Angled-Adapters-Recalled-Due-to-Fire-and-Burn-Hazards-Manufactured-by-CableMod
U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled angled adapters and contact CableMod for instructions on how to safely remove their adapter from the GPU and for a full refund, including cost of shipping, or a $60 store credit for non-customized products, with free standard shipping. Consumers will be asked to destroy the adapter and upload ...

Not talking about the 90 degree adaptors...their actual cables are deemed safe still.
It comes with a cable but idk if it works with any psu
Yes that whats Cable Mods extensions are. It basically replaces Nividia's adaptor you would get in the box.
The full cables are fine for now, but just keep it in mind until we get more info on if this extends to their extensions

So this would work with mine psu to my gpu
And it’s not gonna blow up
no wait that's not an extension
That's a cable replacememnt

Can someone help me with a personal irl banking question?
Not sure if this is the right place to ask that.
No it's nothing crazy just never learned how to deposit money so I found out but was curious as to if when I show up would I jus show id n credentials
CableMod Pro ModMesh Sleeved 12VHPWR StealthSense Cable Extension Kit (White, 16-pin to Triple 8-pin) https://a.co/d/73LNNnv
Would that be it with everything else
Sounds stupid asl but even tho I'm 18 everything was setup by dad n never learned so jus needed someone for quick advice
Or do I need to do it separately
Wdym wouldn't it be with everuthing
R u asking if those would come with ur power supply when u buy?
Nah im tryna not blow my pc up and get a 12vhpwr extension
😭
Yeah that's the whole kit....would have everything you would need.
Idk anything Abt that so ignore anything I said
Thank you very much sir
But it's same as the wires u get with power supply jus a diff color I think
Basically you need ID and account number
My bank just asks account number for deposits
I don't know account number since my banking app wont show but someone told me to in and show id which should work. Thx
Also is fhd for a monitor bad?
Not at 25" or smaller
Fhd means 1080p
Extensions work by slapping them on the end of your existing psu cables. Also, for the PQM PSU you wanted to order. You can use Seasonic based cable kits instead for a direct replacement.
It's a Seasonic focus PSU basically. Excellent unit for $100 USD
Cablemod and I think even moddiy have a kit based on that. Makes a much easier time overall for cable management
My two cents

Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4080, GameMax Spark MicroATX Mid Tower
You could also take one of Bacca's lists and stick this open box trinity 4080 in and get a similar budget result
$931 open box 4080
https://www.zotacstore.com/us/zt-d40810d-10p-o
It's still in stock and arguably a better purchase than a 4080 super for a card with a 4 slot cooler
@naive latch sorry I rechecked my source, it's seasonic-based not RMx based
Slight mistake, just in case you'd already read that
@pearl gulch updated this with a monitor. You can use extra spare monitors you already have or cheap ones off like, fbmp or an old pc for the others
If you wanted to go really jank
Like 1 really good and 3 meh ones for organising
Or you could do like, g272qpf and do like, 3 or 4 of them
But for production I suggest OLED for it's bonkers colour accuracy (great for games too)
thanks
UM
UM
It’s real suspicious though
I mean like it doesn’t mention if it’s broken, Facebook page checks out
God
What’s up with these deals
I feel like anyone who's owned a 3080ti would definitely know what it's worth
But that said
Even at 150 if it's broken
Might still be worth looking at if the profile looks ok
Cos you got like $300 to spend there before it becomes not worth fixing
Could be 2nd owner though. Card released about 2.5 yrs ago. In-person sale or not at all for stuff like this
I feel like any sane person would search up price tho to get a value
Like even if u think it's worth 100 bucks u would probably search it up to find out what it goes for used or somewhat damaged or wtv the case is
Could someone find me a different motherboard for this build? I see a lot of complaints about the current
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 7600, MagniumGear NEO AIR (2023) ATX Mid Tower
Just worried
Preferably around the same price range
PC build questionnaire
———————
Your Country+Currency: $USD
Your Budget: 1000
What is needed?(include peripherals if needed): 2-3 Monitor Support. Wifi Adapter, Preferably 1-2tb storage
Your desired use: Gaming / Recording / Blender use
Any Aesthetic choices: Nothing in particular. Easy to clean? haha
Your progress on the build(0%-100%): 0%
Size preference(micro, atx, etc.): nothing insanely bulky but I have room for a 2016 omen prebuild and those are built like tanks so anything is better than that
Particular programs you want to run(blender/Witcher 3/etc.): Modded b03, Modded mc, blender, streamlabs
I also prefer Ryzen over Intel but if intel will do what I need better thats fine
is 1k too cheap for what im looking for?
Hi, i got a quick question regarding NVME's. I had this list made a while back and now finally got to buying the parts, the 2 NVME's are the last parts I am missing, but the Teamgroup one is hard to come by and just as expensive as the PCle 4.0 one. Is anything stopping me from just buying the Western Digital one twice?

Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6800, Montech AIR 903 BASE ATX Mid Tower
Here's my two cents
1k is a decent budget
I can't really get it down below 1k, it's $60 over
It's possible but I'll have to step down to AM4
sn770 is a decent choice, but there's definitely cheaper options
60 over is no big deal
it seems the sn770 is cheaper than p41 plus
that's good
mostly 3D / adobe suite
alright I'll grab that twice then, there is almost no price difference anyway atm

If you'd do a mail in rebate, this case is solid too

Anyone able to help me, bluetooth decided it doesnt wanna work anymore and im not smart enough to figure it out
So one guy on YouTube was building his pc and said the power supply fan actually was supposed to be facing downward due to the little dust filter on the very bottom of the pc case? Is that true? I’m not sure if it is. All that’s gonna do is blow air towards the floor
psu orientation depends heavily on the case
and no, most psus pull in air from where the fan is located
and it exhausts out the back
Remember that fans are rotating scoops
Look at the fan blade and imagine the air being scooped
Bugs bricked my PC and idk if there's any way to save it
What happened
I probably should just put the fan upwards then
PSU fan is intake....so you want cool air entering your PSU and 90% of cases are designed to have your PSU intake air from the bottom or side of the case
If the case has it, it can be better to have the fan down as it takes in cooler air
Alright
Or outward (some cases don't have a psu chamber on the bottom)
So the guy on YouTube was correct
I don't know what specifically happened, but all I know is that I woke up to the smell of burnt electronics and went to the pc, and nothing works. I checked out the PC as much as I could (I lost the damn screwdriver but I could open the back, front, and storage drawer), nothing seemed burned, so I'm assuming it's the psu
I mean, you can have it inward, just as long as it's not totally blocked
Any semi-competent psu should be fine in either orientation
What psu do you have, and were there any electrical surges or blackouts over night?
Just outward is typically better
Do you have the pc plugged into the wall, or a surge protector, or some type of power strip?
It's an EVGA 80+ gold 650w psu, idk the specific model name
And no blackouts
the PC was plugged right into the wall
So when we first turn the pc on don’t we have to spam the delete button on our keyboard for the motherboard screen to pop up on our monitor?
That’s what most YouTubers did and I feel if I don’t nothings gonna pop up
Well you will want to
At least once windows is on there
Until that point it will either just wait for you to press it or just take you into bios anyway
When you've set up bios then you won't need to do it anymore
I happen to have none of those three items
I can't find the PSU jumper either
A staple maybe?
Ok so I've been trying to diagnose this weird problem for a bit now. My son's computer when turned on power cycles a few times then sometimes let's you get into windows, which is fine for a bit but sometimes it will just randomly power cycle again but sometimes it enters a "how you can try to repair your pc" screen. That screen will say 2 options "restart" and "advanced options". I've tried running virus/malwear scan, removing the ram sticks and re seating them, starying it up with 1 ram stick (switched between the 2), re formatting both drives but keeping windows files, reformatting both drives clean and reinstalling windows from a clean slate. Most recently after the full wipe and windows re install it was staying on for hours while re downloading games back to his pc but after turning it off for the night and coming back to check it and start the downloading again it did the whole power cycle and to the "repair" screen again... I'm lost any help would be great. Build is
Asus prime Z-590p
I5 10400f
16gb of patriot 3200mhz ram
Operating system is on a 500gb m.2 only thing on that module
All other stuff is on a 2TB ssd
Air cooled cpu
Msi 2060 super
Hope I didn't leave out any important details. Amd thanks in advance.
We got paper clips, doing the test now
What is the AC connector?
Evil is the person who invented the 24 pin connector
We tested it, PSU doesn't work
I think that's a good thing? Pretty sure if it did work then that meant something worse was broken
Time for a new PSU
CMD prompt says both drives are "ok" and error checking found nothing. Ran a 3rd party malware and virus scanner and still nothing.
Yeah id replace psu and see if the pc boots
Typically a good psu kills itself before it can kill anything else in the system, but its not 100%
Hey can anyone help me with my friend's pc?
It's been restarting really often, cant even get into windows most times
So do we plug our hdmi cable into our motherboard or gpu before we do this? That’s what connects our computer to the monitor and shows up the screen
Both have hdmi plugs so just wanna be certain
always plug into the gpu
Fantastic news my pc turned on and my bios appeared so what should I do next? Turn my pc back off and install windows on another device?
I wanna install windows but is there anything I should do before I do that? Right now I’m just sitting my the motherboard bios screen
my friend bought a prebuilt pc from walmart and added a custom gpu and says its crashing alot now. is it cuz of the psu or?

https://github.com/NeweggTechie/Graphics-cards/wiki/How-to-use-DDU
Have him do that
So should I update my motherboard bios before I try to install windows?
If the pc boots without updating bios then you don't need to
If it doesn't boot without updating bios you have to update bios first because you can't install windows without getting to bios.
I mean I was just sitting right next to a bios screen so does that mean it boots up?
Yes.
Would these https://a.co/d/aNf3wAi
Work.with this exact power supply in my setup https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CZWk7R
Ok so maybe I can just install windows and possibly get off this screen
I'd grab this psu instead btw
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/NBYRsY/corsair-cx-2023-750-w-80-bronze-certified-atx-power-supply-cp-9020279-na
Gf1 is new and different platform than the old gf1, so we don't know if it's good or not
This'd also be fine

I believe those cable extensions should fit
I know its a risk. Me and Felix talked about it but I think I'm gonna take the risk since a lot of parts will switch on atleast 5 months no.exxageration
As long as it's able to withstand 5 months without destroying everything it should be gone by then. Same with CPU cooler and
Why you changing it in 5 months?
Looks like TPM and secure boot are enabled by default, so XMP you ram, reboot and install windows
The cooler?
The psu
Bro why did I get notified about this chat
Your mom
Because I heard it possibly may not be as good as older models. So that's main reason but I wanna switch to a white 850w even tho color won't rlly matter
My budget is strict as of now but after a month my budget will. Be able to spend decent amount on some parts
Why not just get the lil bit better psu for now? Did you alr order it?
Jus need PC by end of month or early next month then need another month to buy tons of games n PC accessors like GPU holder n etc n then after that rest would go to switching parts
Yes lol
Ah alr
I could technically still return it I think I have like 17 days left or smth
I jus don't wanna go thru hassle idk
Having to return it then wait for it to get finalized then waiting a day to two to get money back into account
Dad controls finances for most part so I'm just tryna get everything out of the way. If I waited it would do a slight setback despite it being something so little
So I enable XMP on my ram, reboot, and install windows?
I would of gone with the Asia horse or wtv it's called extensions but this one was 5 bucks cheaper n has white tips it wtv
Jaxx check dms rq
I know y'all can't suggest a site that bypasses it but did any of u get ur windows 11 for under 70?
I just have never paid for it
Since I've used the same Microsoft account from my first laptop for every single machine I've had since then
So if u have a Microsoft account it will naturally update?
Gotta download windows to a USB, download windows on the pc, and then sign in
But to do that I gotta go on a different computer n buy windows there ?
very well time for me to get off this bios screen
well I'll do what bigmeezy said and hope all goes well and I can get off that bios screen
Actually glad I bought a thermal paste spreader that way i wouldn’t make a mess on the motherboard when I put my cooler on
Would these https://a.co/d/aNf3wAi
Work.with this exact power supply in my setup https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CZWk7R
True bacca said they think they will or they most likely will but just wanna confirm
yeah
Very sorry I’ve asked a ton of questions. It’s just the very first time I built my own pc so I’m trying to do everything as safe and carefully as possible to not drive anything unstable or screw something up
Ok so got a problem. I’m installing windows but it’s not showing my WiFi or any WiFi anywhere all it’s showing is this
My network should’ve showed up right there
Idk what I'm talking about but have u tried re connecting Ethernet and checking that nothing is wrong with tip of both sides
Oh if neither of those work n u don't get a response from someone who knows what they r talking about maybe just take a step back. Disconnect Ethernet cable. N search up how to install or connect Ethernet cable n then start from that step 1
Maybe fixing it isn't the issue but jus properly doing it from start is idk thi
that doesn't work anymore btw
wtf is MS doing then.
Do we need an Ethernet cable to connect to the internet with a gaming PC? We shouldn’t need that at all
Gotta download and extract your net drivers to the installer USB so you can tell it to load them. They need to be installed at the same time you're picking the drive to install to.
Windows has Wi-Fi drivers but it can't recognize all the chipsets. New ones it especially has issues with the default drivers.
So I gotta turn my pc off and download something else on my drive?
We shouldn’t need an Ethernet cable at all on this and my WiFi should’ve showed up there
Is amd privacy view worth it
privacy view sounds like a gimmick
No it's not a gimmick
Is privacy in public spaces a big issue for you? All it does is blur areas far from your mouse cursor
It kinda works
being a$$hats....ran into this problem with the last build i did for my ex's daughter...Wifi drivers was not installed initially and no option for a local account, it required me to log into a MS account....didn't feel like doing and going through all the work-arounds so i just ethernet'd it.....
And darken the screen when you look away
Yes
For people that do sensitive (or are sensitive) working in public it's quite a handy tool
The oobe thing is totally dead? Those bastages -- luckily I've simply been used to ethernet since before wifi was actually decent, otherwise I'd personally care more.
Windows dynamic lock is helpful too in an office space
Should I download these MSI MSI already downloaded chipset for motherboard is this for graphics card
@stable cove read chillin's message here
Yes, MSI gets old versions compared to direct from AMD
so unfortunately your boards wifi drivers aren't being automatically installed or recognized by w11 (probably because it's a newer non intel wifi card) so you're going to have to ethernet it to get it setup, while there are other ways since you are new this is going to be the quickest and easiest solution if possible. Once you get it setup you'll have to manually install your boards wi-fi drivers.
I just read this also, but idk
yep
What PC cable extension should I look for for the gf1 2024 psu
Whenever I look at cable extension there r diff PC. Some r 4 PC others r 6pc idk which to get.
cablemod
asiahorse is ok too but get cables with as low AWG as possible
What is awf
higher means thinner and less capacity
But it's weird because higher gauge is actually smaller number
Is 16 awg good enough?
ah
Or too high
The ones you linked in the other chat, just stick them onto the ends of the cables that came with it
Asiahorse 16awg is good
16 is fine for anything less than a 4090
Well it's a good one

I know
18 is fine on a 4090
I would rather save the 6 bucks if possible
Some cheaper cables will claim to be 16 awg but they're actually 20 with a thick jacket pretending to be 16
Cat fishing is insane
Terrible problem in this market
Is the extension cable kit good?
Also our or curiosity with these do u gotta click em or connect em on or wtv the fck
I thought the way it worked were they were completely diff cables that I jus didn't need to worry about black ones n jus connected white ones instead
Sirlyr Pearl White PSU Extension Cable Kit • Custom Sleeved Power Supply Cable Mod for PC Build • 16AWG 24Pin ATX /8 (4+4) Pin EPS CPU /8 (6+2) Pin PCI-E GPU PSU Cables • 4PCS with Cable Comes 11.8In https://a.co/d/dnkfnDv

These ones
I have no idea about sirlyr
That would be custom cables. They exist but they're more expensive than extensions.
Side note: Amazon reviews should be ignored entirely because there's so many ways to scam through them.
N in ur opinion n experience does it look nc
Cause with the way it's described wouldn't it show some black from some angles
The black part of the cables would be behind the motherboard tray
The end tip?
Idk this is all too confusing I'ma jus buy 18 dollar one n trust that it fully covers or watch reviews online
Alright looks like I’ll have to buy an Ethernet cable to plug my computer into and see if I can get my motherboards WiFi drivers on it after I get windows installed it. I think I have no choice
It sucks that my pc can’t just find my WiFi without having to download this stuff. Most devices find WiFi no problem at all
@stable cove did you read any of our messages
Even my laptop doesn't find wifi when I reinstalled windows
3 people told you to use the OOBE bypass to skip the wifi part
I tried the without WiFi method and it didn’t work because when I pressed enter the pc didn’t restart
The bypass doesn't involve restarting
If there’s a new method it’ll help me end this faster because I won’t have to buy an Ethernet cable and wait for it to come to my house.
So just checking, this didn't work @stable cove yes?
Try it twice or three times to be sure
All in caps?
mhm
Oh and you built your pc like a week or 2 ago
Perfect
So this should definitely work
Not like my wifi driver would've worked before doingg it lol
Because ujhhh
I didn't have it
Yeah bypass needing network connection so you can finish setting up and get to desktop
Then get your wifi driver on a flash drive and install it
So Fai gave me a motherboard WiFi driver download so after this hopefully I can extract that from my drive and put it on my pc
I guess you can use your phone, downloading and transferring it over usb
Yeah my motherboard WiFi driver is on my usb I just gotta install it onto my gaming computer
Should I click on Mai setup?
yes
Alright
I had no idea where my flash drives were for like a year so I had to get creative lol
Thankfully it's simple, the phone is the flash drive
Why is the 4080 super 1700 on Newegg lol
Medieval scalpers seem pretty terrible to me
That's crazy might as well get the 4090
You can report those sellers to fairpricing@newegg.com
At least you could during the shortage, don't know if it's still active
Sure, if those weren't being scalped too for $2200
Right how long before you think ide get my hands on one at launch price
Just get the zotac open box 4080 for $931.49
Call it a day
Direct from manufacturer
Considering that the 4080 super is within margin of error of the regular one that is a good option
Sounds good to me
It's a better buy than the 4080S at msrp
And yet people downvoted it
Weirdest thing imo
4 slot cooler you never even hear the fans
Probably scared by "open box" but it's sold directly from zotac
It's most likely just one that was returned for whatever reason, and they tested it
Seems to be a lot more than just 1
I've recommended that link to a lot of people lol
(probably returned because they realized the 7900 XTX was better)
Ouch
Just gaming
Ye
XTX all the way for just gaming unless you're literally only playing cyberpunk
I mean tbf considering we'd be assuming they bought it for like, 1150
He's very right in that xtx is better
Any specific brand?
Almost all XTX are the same electrically
It's really just a cooler or vbios choice
AMD is a lot more strict about quality of the card
Sapphire pulse is always my go to now
Great QoL features and often one of the cheapest
Xfx merc is a second favourite for me
They're the noisiest but best vbios and cheapest, also tends to have very good bins
don't we need to activate windows to get the most out of our graphics card?
No, the two have nothing to do with each other
It’s just I tried to run VR and it said my graphics card didn’t meet the minimum requirements so I’m not sure if that’s because the gpu is underpowered or something else and I wanna see if I can fix it
Because I have a 4080 like that should be enough to do plenty
Hope my gpu isn’t damaged. It shouldnt be
Maybe I should switch and do three pcie cables instead
That is a software issue
Nothing to do with power

DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) Guide by Pato
https://github.com/NeweggTechie/Graphics-cards/wiki/How-to-use-DDU
Try this
Yeah I just really wanna try and fix that
At least there’s people here who know what to do in certain situations
You need to install gpu drivers
download from here
and install
I’m sorry I know it’s overpriced I just couldn’t hold back man the hard on was too big
😣
What about what the other guy said to do? I do that too?
Hopefully I'll stop running into these problems soon. I didn't see this stuff coming at all. kind of a pain
we all start somewhere
And I doubt this is the manuals of our parts so that's frustrating
installing drivers is kinda a standard practice you learn to know as you build a pc
or do something like reinstalling windows on a laptop
Well I'll just swing buy if I run into another problem. Thanks for guiding me through this
I’ve had my built computer on all night staring at a lot of stuff installing under windows update in the settings
Just got on my hp reverb g2 with my built pc and everything works fantastic. the home menu loads almost immediately and I can have several things open at once without my pc lagging at all
My dell computer could not do all that
Grats
So all the drivers I have installed already took up a terabyte on storage so I might need to buy a massive upgrade. What option would provide me a lot more pc storage? I don’t want that to get overcrowded?
I got no idea I think my pc downloaded a lot of stuff and installed several updates.
I’m not really sure what happened but nonetheless at least vr runs like a blast
Ain't no way your drivers are a terabyte
Then maybe something else is taking space up
You didn't like, just click the nvidia driver download 1333 times or something
Drivers should be a couple hundred megabytes
Something else is taking up space or you've stuffed your downloads file up 3000 times over lmao
resetting my laptop wasted so many hours
here's another thing to download so you can look at all the things that you downloaded
it's called wiztree
i was too lazy to find a usb drive
https://diskanalyzer.com/ that it?
Official WizTree web site. WizTree is the fastest disk space analyzer available for Windows. It reads the Master File Table (MFT) directly from the disk, bypassing Windows and gaining a huge performance boost.
yep
Yeah I'll need to download that later and see whats going on
I may just look for a storage upgrade anyway. I could be downloading a lot of vr games on steam
Just a cheap m.2 that's pcie gen 3 or 4
You don't need anything crazy for games
The experience of a game will be almost identical on just about any ssd out there of reasonable quality
forza motorsport 7 seems to be pretty bad on ssds and even worse on nvme drives
I don't recall such issues
I was playing it just lately too
380fps 4k on a 4090 hits different lmao
The game like, looks actually kinda great with high refresh and maxed
does it have 60 lock on mp?
Oh wait I think I know what maniac is talking about
The car menu
All the cars in that game are fully rendered in the menu
damn
And it leads to significant load time differences
that hits the ssd hard
Yes it was a problem actually
Since all previous games used preview images
Suddenly the xbox would never load the car in time when picking it in multiplayer
So you had no idea which was the right one if you had two
That wasn't even the worst problem though
But I'll grant that one, it was a thing
loading the cars and apparently leaving the track/loading another
it doesn't hit the ssd, the drive just waits on the game
I'd have no idea what it does, just know from experience what I see
It's jank for sure
for whatever reason the game's consistency is killed if it's not on a hard drive
ssd too fast or I guess
So I’m pretty sure I got my fans in the right spots. Should I make adjustments on the rotations or leave everything the way it is? I honestly don’t know if I should be concerned about temperatures anymore or not. Especially because I bought a dual air cooler and it’s probably just gonna get hot anyway. Not to mention Felix said a pc can be running 95 degrees c 24/7 and be perfectly fine. Maybe I’ve really been overthinking that stuff
just play your games and forget about it for a while
Fan curve can be adjusted
But if you like what the bios has set for you already, no need to mess with it
I really think you need to calm down
You've gotten way further than most without issues
^
At this point you've gotten past even what some pre-builts can't achieve
Or viruses and malware
Or McAfee
Or a broken mobo slot
No thermal paste
Faulty ram
No xmp
Yada yada
The list goes on and on
Since most people that make pre-builts are lackey's who do 9 to 5 on that stuff themselves and make human mistakes
You’re probably right I did accomplish a bunch and got vr working
Leave it haha you'll be fine with stock settings
Mess with fan curves later if you want, just enjoy PC for now
Yeah you’re probably right I should enjoy vr
I just did it because I didn't like hearing the CPU fan at lower temps
I just let the bios do its thing
Also fair
It won't overheat with stock fan curves
If you're running on stock settings
i.e. you're not over clocking your cpu or GPU
Yeah, it's just down to acoustics mostly
If the fan noises annoy you to no end while you're using your pc then you should definitely do them
Though tbh
My x3d system
I could leave the fans like always under 30% without issue
There's just way too much cooling in that pc now
It took all I have for an i9 in it, now x3d just lives in the arctic circle
Bros bing chilling in there fr
If I still had the 3090 in there I could probably run it with the fans at 20%
Real
put it on the back of your bike and leave the side panel off
ride as fast as you can
you have sprocket and chain and handlebar
Quick someone build me a 2k pc sfx
Here
Lol
2K sfx prolly like
7800x3d
Small tower cooler
A620i lightning wifi
32gb vulcan 5600 cl32
P41 plus 2tb
Cheapest smallest xtx like sapphire pulse, montech century mini 750w, and some small sff case
Wasn't able to link my shopping car but here is my list on new egg. I saw my CPU went from 220 to 209. I was curious if there r certain parts that I should maybe buy early because their price may go up instead of down
Your address is in that pic
Up to you
Only thing I change from what I saw there was the ram
You can get basically identical for $10 less
Silicon power, or the same teamgroup deltas but 5600 cl32
I know
Silicon power should be 6000 cl30 tho
I saw n I actually had it on my list but I realized my list allows me to spend the extra bit
I like the lightup😎
I did some math with giving mighself less doubt n I should have 1100 to spend by end of month
N this list is 1062 which is also why I was wondering if I should buy any parts early
Did you see my comment on the psu
No lemme check
Alright
As long as it doesn't fry everything or mess up everything in 5 months Iy will be gone by then
In less then 6 to 8 months the monitor, power supply, and maybe storage will be changed
That's what I was thinking
Out or curiosity does anybody wanna post their wallpaper? Don't need inspo jus curious as to what y'all's style is
If this is wrong channel to do such someone tag a diff one jus thought would be stupid to do in general
I mean
It's alright, some wallpapers are cool on there, I got the entirety of shrek downloaded from there
@cyan ravine would I be able to pull off using this cooler instead of the one in the second pic
Keeping temps cool as possible is the ideal situation
why would you downgrade the cooler if "keeping temps cool as possible is the ideal situation" lmao
how does that make any amount of sense
sure the se-214-xt will work on a 7800x3d but is it really that important to save that $15 on a build high end enough to call for a 7800x3d?
keeping temps cool as possible means liquid helium
Wasn’t sure if it would be a downgrade
I’m sorry

just look at them
there is a 2x size difference there
se-214-xt is a great budget cooler but it's still a budget cooler
I do space themes like this, there's a lot of free ones on the microsoft store
What cooler would be best for that?
uhhh
(Not helium cuz that’s a lot of money)
liquid helium is definitely not meant for dailying
just get the pa120 it does the job for cheap enough
you're not gonna gain any performance from going lower than 70c
But just high end liquid cooling
and it's quieter than liquid coolers on a 7800x3d
Price doesn’t really matter on this list
High end custom loops typically use distilled water with anti-growth additives
liquid coolers have a pump as a noise floor
pa120 stays quieter than a pump on a 7800x3d
speaking from personal experience
never once heard any noise from the pa120
I hear my galahad 360 all the time
My LFII 420 has a fan rattling now so it's really loud lol
oof
More fans = more noise
I've had terrible experiences with the fans that came with the galahad
The blades skip off the radiator when it's starting or stopping the fan
but at least they sent replacements without question multiple times
guess they know their QC sucks lol
I got 5 fan replacements for an aio with 3 fans
within 2 years
My Torrent had one of the 180mm fans blow the bearing so they sent me one no questions asked too. It just took a while because they were rearranging their warehouse. And the first one they sent broke a blade off in shipping. But the second replacement is great.
oof
yeah 2 out of 5 replacements I got were bad on arrival
either clicky/rattling bearings or bad LEDs
they're good fans when they work but they seem to struggle with... working
the ones I have right now have been going for more than a year now so maybe these are the good ones
Sorry for bothering
I’m just cutting down stuff if it’s just needlessly expensive
don't worry about it
asking is how you learn that it's not needlessly expensive
better to ask than to make poor decisions without asking
seen people build $2k gaming pcs with an i9 and 3050
Well with a 7800x3d, the cooler really does not matter much. It will run hot no matter what, but it won't throttle with a 214xt. It would likely be a few degrees difference between a 214xt and a pa120 se, felix has an am5 cpu (either 7700x or 7800x3d, I forget) in a custom loop and it either almost hits or does hit the 80s
Would have to ask him to double check on the last part, but its one of the two
he has a 7950x3d
I had 7800x3d under pa120 in a 24c ambient room peaking at 70c in prime95 with default fan curve
Meanwhile my 13600k was hitting 80c before contact frame in p95 under a 280mm clc
meanwhile my 13700k hits 102c in p95 and throttles significantly under a 360mm clc and contact frame
yeah at stock too
Before it was hitting 100c at stock in cinebench, let alone p95
still wants over 400 watts at stock and my cooler is only capable of sustaining 320
well, "motherboard stock", not intel stock
You're the one (and felix) who figured out why my cpu was hitting 100c about a year ago now
wouldn't doubt it
wasn't the board giving it like 1.45v for funsies
mm crispy chips
It was at most at those temps for maybe a total of 5 min
Likely less, and that was between multiple attempts
Yeah I didn't think so, but I also don't know much about degradation
I'm a noob when it comes to cpu oc and ram tuning
I'm just not interested in aggressive CPU ocs anymore
I just don't have any need to do either
13600k 3060 ti at 1440p, not really cpu limited lol
I'm just dailying a 100mhz bump at the stock voltage
still interested in daily ram oc though, that's where the real gains are at
might do some experimenting with disabling e-cores when I have free time
Yeah im glad my rams at 3600c16 now, better than 3200c16
I could likely do 3600c14 or better but I just really don't feel like it
life is better after I settled for 4000c15 lol
my chip did not want to run 4133 stable
I want to play with ddr5 but can't justify an upgrade for a long time
I could try 4000c16, it might be stable with my current settings
Same
I wanted an excuse to build a second system on am5 but my excuse no longer works
Was gonna have my pc in another room and there's a TV in our bedroom, was gonna do a pc for that TV for story games and such, but I can no longer use that other room
So no reason to have two systems in my bedroom
ya
$158
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/g94BD3/amd-ryzen-5-5600x-37-ghz-6-core-processor-100-100000065box
If you go with 5600 (same chip just they scratched off the X) it's way cheaper than that
Yeah crazy price
200 is 7600 money
No
lucky
huh
Bro's literally trading and selling over market price for used
Most desirable 5600x in the world
it goes both ways
Maybe it's even better, maybe it's an rx 7600
Also I'd be weary of it being a broken 7600
It makes everyone sad
@little osprey find out which 7600 it is
R5
Bro yet another one saying they going to Amazon
Like bruh couldn't thought of that before coming to me
Should've just sealed the deal I guess lol
I did
Above that I said "Deal"
And then dude said that on the ss
Bro says he'll rather get a 3700x instead for cheap
With a 4060 💀
"the 7600 beats the 5800x and 5600x by around 20%. The 5600x and 5800x perform almost identically for gaming, as single core performance is what matters for gaming. The 5800x also runs a lot hotter and requires a much better cooler. "
He says he's "getting a twin AIO cooler from a guy tomorrow" 💀
100% tryna waste my time
Probably a potential scammer if I wasn't so clever on these PC topics
Definitely
scammer for sure
Is the a620m pro rs wifi motherboard compatible with dsr5 ram?
ddr5, and yes because it's AM5 socket.
Ok thx
After 2 years with my 5800x, I wish I had just gotten the 5600/x or a 5700x. It's been nothing but a pain managing temps.
nah I personally would use the extra two cores
especially given modern GPUs being bottlenecked even by six-core CPUs now
I just need to learn how to undervolt and all that.
I'll be getting a 7800x3d soon ish though
I'm currently using a 13700K, which I probably won't have to upgrade for a bit and I can just increase RAM and upgrade my GPU for a while
Surprisingly easy. I was able to just Google it and learn what's a safe voltage and how to test for whether your voltage is safe
My 5800x is going to go into my other build with a 3060ti. It's more compact so I'll def need to do something to reduce temps
fair enough
It's a Sama IM01 case.
dang bruh I didn't know the 5800X had a TDP of 105W
I doubt you'll have issues cooling that CPU with that case. it looks like there will be enough space inside
you can put a 240mm radiator up top. shouldn't be bad for cooling at all
Its a nice case. Was using it for capture and stream but recently been using it as a back up or to bring to friends houses.
I have a case that's about that same form factor. only I have a triple-fan GPU inside and I should probably find a way to prevent GPU sag when moving it around 💀
It's a bit more cleaned up now. But it's super compact but still space for a decent sized card
Maybe I'm crazy but I would make that top fan on the right an intake so the CPU cooler can get some air
I could give that a try. Makes sense
Idk if the top is filtered so there may be more dust coming into the PC, but it would keep that 5800X alive
It's not. But Im sure i probably could order a magnetic filter.
I wonder if they make fan filters that are 140x140mm and 120x120mm
that would make sense imo
Before this I had that asrock deskmeet x300. But that was a nightmare. Airflow was horrible. Only way the case worked is if you were only running a igpu
bruh why can't we have motherboards like this
that's an adorable PC though
bruh I want an mITX motherboards that has four slots for memory
The 5800x is definitely not a single tower cooler cpu
Maybe if you power limit it to hell
I might be able to clip on another fan if I get the brackets. Not sure how much that would help lol.
The b660 version is better. But the case is just very limiting.
Why?
Do you use 128gb+?
It would just be nice
2 dimm boards are also better for ram tuning, especially on ddr5
Considering even my 420mm AIO struggles with it on all core loads, this is very much true. 85-90C playing some games. Granted, it's overclocked, but undervolted.
For me in particular, I usually use mITX motherboards with spare parts (for secondary builds). And typically I'll just add in whichever parts I have, including memory
Is a HVA panel better or worse then a IPS panel. And also what would be pros n cons. Like is IPS better with fps but HVA has better or worse color resolution or wtv. Just curious
IPS is usually the choice for gamers because it has better motion clarity, color accuracy, and response times. VA panels have better contrast, that's about it.
I’m stupid I knew ips was better then Va but I thought HVa was a whole different type of monitor panel
Thx tho
You're not stupid, they do that intentionally to confuse you
The same reason that Acer has their model names
or in other words, your stupid to believe it
Or how cars have 30 model names for the same car
Oh no I have the turbo X not the LS E

Marketing is social engineering, and that's why reviews are always worth looking at
So I watched a video and I need to downgrade to windows 10 because there’s software I can’t use in the latest windows 11 update but the video I saw a guy do this said it could release all your data. So what should I do before I go through this procedure to avoid losing all my drivers I installed for WiFi and my graphics card?
If it's only the latest update, you can just roll back your w11 update to an earlier w11 version, that would probably be easier?
Is the difference between ips and VA super noticeable at 24 inch monitors
I know ip is better for sure. But I'm assuming it would be way noticeable on a 27 or even 32 inch monitor
Size doesn't matter, IPS generally is clearer during fast motion like snap shotting or running in games
The thing that matters as size increases is the resolution. 27" is largely accepted as the point where you should get 1440p, with 4k possibly starting to make sense at 32" or larger. This is due to pixel density. If you have a large, low resolution monitor you can easily pick out individual pixels from a normal sitting distance.
What would be the best GPU for $200-400?
I am looking for a 4060 ti, is that any good?
Much very wow
Would you be okay with used?
If you could stretch an extra $100
6000 series used or new if you can find them still
6700 XT and 6750 XT are also really good if you can find them still
^ that too
nothing from current 7000 series or 40 series is really a standout in that category since all the decent cards start at like 500+
Not 409 IPS😭
it's a 21:9 monitor huh
Idk what allat means
Getting a 24 inch 1080 IPS for now. By June or at Max late July I'ma switch to a 27 inch 1440
Hopefully IPS but haven't checked prices for 27 inch ips
It's barely better than a 3060 ti and on average loses to the 3070
Might as well get a used 3080 for the same price as the 4060 ti
I debated between that case and the sama
d30>>
I remember learning about the difference in pixel density of HD monitors between 24 and 27 inches, but I got greedy and got the 27 inch anyway
Did you regret it?
No, actually. It was probably easier for my mother to see
also, she was already complaining that it was a widescreen monitor instead of square
It was the biggest thing within the budget, is what I was getting at there
Then you made the perfect choice
I'm not giving past me enough credit, I'm sure
what yall think of my build ?
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600KF, Radeon RX 7600, NZXT H9 Flow ATX Mid Tower
if you havent bought it yet https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MPY9vj
Part List - Intel Core i5-13400, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Montech SKY TWO ATX Mid Tower
I feel like anyone whos ever built a computer has went overbudget
All the higher end things that are "just a wee bit more expensive" are too tempting 🥹
Typically overspending starts on peripherals
“This monitor has more hz this mouse is lighter this keeb is more gamer
“
I downsized like $400 by just getting super simple peripherals(I use controller a lot so I didn’t need a l33t g4m3r keyboard and mouse)
And a good monitor for my 4090
all ive done is upsize; eventually landed on a $45 keycron keyboard (after 2 other keebs that im embarrassed by) eventually went to a logitech gpro superlight; got some schiit amp and dac for my sen 6xx's... i think im happy now
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4090, Phanteks Eclipse P500A D-RGB ATX Mid Tower
My stuff is simple simple
I think my original list was like $4,600

Sennheiser
Whats the difference between these 2 Ram Values? https://ibb.co/0m9P84Y
One would be system ram, the other video ram
Behold: Detective Chillin. green "MEM" is Vram. I duplicated pic from John, lol. usage \ process might be what a certain program is using, but idk. In my pic below, my "top" open program is using 2600ish RAM & 1692 Vram. John, your igpu and it's Vram was max'd out.
Bad techie, haha (jk-ish). -- I only run certain OSD readings because it influencs how much is on the AB hardware monitor graph. Plus, hwinfo is course better w/ some things.
This could sound stupid but are there any 300W-400W PSUs that I can possibly fit In an SFF Dell Optiplex 5040?
No
Not inside
SFF? 300-400W? What monster are you forming?
Oh wait
Thought it was one of those micros
PC Building: 3rd World Country edition
So can It possibly fit?
or do I have to remove the side panel out of the equation to make this even feasible
Idk
I'll try finding out the hard way
It'll be an ugly sight but If it means saving $200-$300 from buying an actually good and fresh build so be it
They use a modified 12VO spec and server PSU case parts so no standard power supply will fit
You could rig up a server PSU to fit but it won't work for the stock motherboard, and the case won't fit standard motherboards either.
Any good 27 inch curved monitors. True bacca n someone else showed me a nice MSI 27 inch that was good but I was wondering if I was to increase my budget if there r any 27 inch curved that aren't super expensive but ofc not cheap with super bad quality
Most of the cheaper curved monitors use cheap VA panels, and as a result they look pretty bad
The only reason to get a curved 27" monitor imo is for a sim racing rig where they're in surround layout
It's too small for curved to matter
The ones that start to look decent are around $300+
Ok thx
How big of a difference would there be in performance with a a620m pro rs wifi and a b650m pro rs wifi
Strictly for gaming pretty much
I realized I have enough money to either bring up the budget of my monitor up by 30 dollars or upgrade my a620m pro rs wifi to a b650 pro rs wifi
Because it's for gaming I want to bring up budget for monitor up since I know that would help for time being but at the same time if the performance difference in the b650 is higher then I would switch motherboard. What's y'all's opinion?
The only difference between A620 and B650 is CPU overclocking support
Side by side you would not see a difference
There's mobos worse than the a620m pro rs wifi that are fine for a 7950x3d
If you're getting an X3D chip there's effectively no difference because you can't overclock those anyway. The memory you can overclock on any AM5 board. (except some OEM boards like HP)
Also I just found out that there's literally no difference between the a620 and b650 the other day aside from ocing
I thought the a620 had a lot less m.2s
Nope, because in practice most B650 boards aren't anywhere close to the limit of the chipset anyway
Thank you
I don't know anything about over locking and think my performance will be fine enough to where I don't have to worry about over locking so just gonna stick with a620
So I’m gonna try to switch from windows 10. How do I ensure my WiFi and graphics card drivers don’t get wiped out and I can recover them?
If you do an "upgrade" install then it'll figure all that out for you.
You can see if you're eligible for that upgrade with the PC Health Check app.
https://aka.ms/GetPCHealthCheckApp
It also suggests things you might need to adjust to comply with the requirements, like enabling TPM and secure boot in bios.
If you changed your hardware in order to upgrade to Windows 11 and the system is not recognizing the change in a timely manner, this article explains how to initiate the assessment manually.
Does anyone use or in the past used sleeved power supply cables
Idk which these r but what I'm tryna figure out is do I replace the power supply cables with these or do I connect them to the power supply cables as a "extender" In a way b then connect white part to motherboard and other parts
Asiahorse? That would be an extension
It goes between your PSU cable and the motherboard
Ngl I jus ordered what I thought would work and just assumed they would help lol
Okay thank you
I don't mind either was just kinda confusing
Alright I think I know what I need to do now. I'll have to buy an external pc hard drive. Put all my data on it. Switch from windows 11 to 10 and then put everything back on
you dont need an external one
tho sometimes external drives may be cheaper than internal, though usually they use white label drives which may be of lower quality
I don't think he will be using external after that but idk
I think he just only needs something to quickly and safely transport the data then he will use internal after prob but once again I'm not him just assuming since I have seen him having trouble prior with stuff not working on windows 11
Is there a particular reason you're trying to downgrade a windows version?
windows 11 sucks
Is this a "I hate general change" statement or do you actually have issues with 11 that you don't with 10?
I need to downgrade to windows 10 because the update in windows 11 won’t let me use the software to play my go reverb g2 so I have to downgrade to windows 10 until I get my BigScreen beyond
Then I’ll switch back to 11
So looks like I gotta buy an external hard drive to back up my data
wouldnt it be easier to buy a new like, 1tb nvme or smth, then install windows 10 on it
instead of buying a drive to backup data to
that way you dont have to reinstall windows twice
only once
you dont have to use a high end nvme, just like a p41 or whatever
and afterwards you can use the nvme as high speed game storage
Can a pc have both windows 10 and 11 on one system though?
you can dual boot, yes, or you can disconnect the drive that has windows 11 on
You can have as many windows installs on it as you like
I mean 2 internal drives might not be a bad idea. Maybe it’ll make it easier to switch back to windows 11 when I feel like it because one will have it on there
Neuter the data collection and "AI" features, debloat the installer, and it's better than 10.
The interface is what really got me when I got forced to install it about a year ago, I have it on my laptop and it's not the worst, some things are way bettter. But some elements of the interface suck
You can change that too
You can make the interface literal windows 10
I'm lost any help would be great.
there is 0 overclocking on this pc including X.M.P. The build is Asus prime Z-590p
I5 10400f
16gb of patriot 3200mhz ram
Operating system is on a 500gb m.2 only thing on that module
All other stuff is on a 2TB ssd
Air cooled cpu
Msi 2060 super
Hope I didn't leave out any important details. Amd thanks in advance.
Xmp is off?
Just double* checking because 10400F supports a maximum memory speed of 2666 natively
thank the lord there's a technician reading. I'm not reading all that bruh
me when i hate internal drives so i put all my drives into a SAN and use fiberchannel frfr (i will never do that, fiberchannel is too specialized, would only use iSCSI)
JBOD master race
real
Difference between hd, qhd, and wqhd in short explanation
HD = 720p
FHD = 1080p
QHD = 1440p
WQHD = Ultrawide 1440p
Smallest I know of is 34" but the height is the same as a 27"
Isn't wide 24", 27"
It's possible that it was mislabeled, that happens sometimes
So it would be wqhd, a rare 24" qhd but also wide
nah that's like saying one inch is equal to five inches
Buv that's what the wide about man
We out here quotin nikado in main chat for dis man
Nikado is WQHD fs
IT IS 27"
26.5" IS WHD
24" WIDE
WTH IS THIS MONSTROSITY SCREEN
27" WQHD
There's like 4 screens in existence with 24" QHD
UWHD is 2560x1080
I thougt WQHD is just 21:9 1440p
