Should i get it for both ssds while I'm at it
AHAHAHA
STUPID ANDROID
The EK-Quantum Convection M.2 NVMe is a passive aluminum heatsink for M.2 NVMe solid state drives. Although itās not a water cooling component, it is a much-needed aesthetic and cooling solution for many PC owners. Itās no secret that M.2 NVMe SSDs can easily overheat and be subdued to thermal throttling, thus losing performance. However, this l...
Like this
Ooo
Yeah you could
They're good sinks, sinks will help regardless
Kinda worried about clearance
Yeah I can't guarantee it fits
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X3D, Radeon RX 7700 XT, MSI MAG FORGE 112R ATX Mid Tower
At that point will it do much
Copper shims exist but I'd say those are more an interface to transfer not radiate
Yeah it won't
@primal linden how much have you bought my guy
Then if it fits I might get a second one for the 970
wdym
Tho the problem is that i might void the warranty if i remove the foam heatspreader that came with the GM7000
What's happening
Don't
Like ever
My monitor says no signal after I took out the cmos battery for like 8 mins
Airflow tho
It's gonna be fine
Just a bit toasty
Yeah
laptop.moment
There's airflow over the gen 4 so
Shouldn't be too bad
Now I have a spare 1TB ssd
Photo drive
Oem samsung so ain't worth reselling
Yeah ik
Tho I could wipe over a drive like that and use it in a rig to sell
Or use it for bench drive

Yeah oem ssds are great for flips
Somewhere along the line I lost my bench drive
Cheap ssd
And also passable performance
That gives me an idea...
I could swap the WD green in my 1080 build out for the 1TB ssd
To bump up the price
Ahahah do you want a WD green
If there was a word for mid ssd that would be it
šÆ

Just getting some money back from the ssd purchase

Selling computers to stretch out my budget for the holidays
Sounds good lad (sorry for delayed reply), I've shopped with almost all of them, can only say really mwave has really soured my grapes personally. They do stuff like, 20% return fees, annoying shipping rates, long processing
Their warranty team went to crap in the last year or so
I lodged a complaint about it, they basically left me in the dark for 2 weeks with no reply
If it was anyone else then that person could've been 2 weeks without even knowing their incapacitated pc could be warrantied, let alone being unable to use it
Really rubbed me the wrong way sorry, personal rant
But yeah try to avoid mwave or msy at the very least
Idk what that app is
Gparted
Never used it lol
damn I tried and it still doesnāt post
None
It just says no signal
Ok so if all the post lights go off then it's booting
Try a different display cable?
Lemme try hdmi 1
It's plugged into the gpu yeah?
Yeah
Is there a chance it could be the cable
It happens a lot ngl lol
Tried hdmi 1 and didnāt work
What else can I do
The motherboard itself or the cpu
Should i upgrade to windows 11?
Motherboard should have a plug
@primal linden b550 is it
Yep
Is the gpu supposed to be able to move up a little bit when slotted in
Is moving up to the cpu cooler regular
Like if itās flexible enough to touch the bottom of the cooler
Idk what cooler
Oh nvm
Lmao
Thatās too much
Um?
Yeah it just moves up a lil bit
A tiny bit is ok
Like
A couple degrees
The flex is there and it helps with cases that might be slightly off
Idk what else to do
I see a slot under it
Ye try that
If it's a full 16 slot it might get the display working, which could imply the top slot has problems
Also does placing it in a different slot impact performance in any way
Thank you Microsoft very cool
I hate windows
Should've fixed it now
I swear to god if it pulls that hibernation bs again
I'm gonna install windows first then hijack its efi partition
Because Microsoft is annoying with dual boots
Put it in a different slot and still no signal
What else can I do
Could it be that the ssd was installed wrong
Alright guys, keep your pockets heavy for the āAfter-Christmas-My-Kid-Didnāt-want-this-so-Iām-selling-it-for-a-stupid-cheap-price-cuz-Iām-out-of-touch-with-this-marketā time
quick question, did you build it yourself or did somebody at microcente
built it myself
Do i put the GPU back in its previous slot
Ye
Don't wanna waste another few TBW for a stupid bug
As long as it's flat and not bent
It was a tiny bit bent
Bent it can very easily die
Could that have been the problem
Uh
Maybe? I mean when bridging and power issues occur
The world is your oyster for problems
Take it out
Hold power button for 10 seconds
With power plug out
Put battery back
Power plug back
In that order
Then turn it back on
On the case?
i realized the gpu fans arent spinning
Yes
Normal
I see
a lot of gpus don't spin up until they reach a certain temperature
Some they won't spin until you're past the boot process
They should spin during post tho
Or rather that's typical
Tried new pcie cables and still nothing
Is there anything else I can do
The pc seems functional thereās just no signal
Sure there's no debug light it gets stuck on?
If not, try a displayport cable
Some gpus should detect the display to the right port but not always
Faulty display cable?
Idk itās a new HDMI cable
Iām prob gonna try display port
Try different display cables
Or dp
Like if the post lights aren't coming on then it's making it to bios
i.e it's high chance it's perfectly functional
First build shenanigans
shenanigan
Gigabyte Z790 UD AX ATX LGA1700 Motherboard vs. MSI Z790 GAMING PRO WIFI ATX LGA1700 Motherboard
Hmmmm
Hi everyone I am building my second pc and Iām having some trouble the the build is msi b650p, 7700x, and 32gbs of g skill, with a 2070 Iāve plugged evening in f panel connectors and all the psu cables but I do not see power getting to the mobo is there a reason for that
I canāt seem to figure it out
Are you able to send a picture of the build?
On the bottom right of the motherboard, what do you have plugged in?
That should be the front panel header, I think I see a fan cable plugged in there.
Let me check your motherboards manual thought first.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pVFHpB so got this list here for my partner and we have some parts bought and waiting for more deals to come along. Thoughts?
Part List - Intel Core i5-13400F, Radeon RX 7700 XT, Phanteks Eclipse P200A DRGB Mini ITX Tower
Imo psu is already a good deal
I'd say look for 12600k/kf
Also I'm assuming your partner is doing workstation tasks?
You were right I got it running thank you!
No problem, let us know if you need anything else.
Gaming, streaming, and some work like video editing
64gb is a safe ground I found for them
Forgot to mention, we wanted to keep a lower wattage CPU
can anyone help me polish up this gaming build, working on it for my brother, hes got a max budget of £800. Any help is appreciated :) https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/KmvNsh
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6750 XT, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
May I ask why?
In 30min or so I got you
cheers boss š
Hey guys
My cpu is running at 74°
Is that ok š
I just bought a second monitor and idk if this is something relating to the monitor
I'm not sure if I'm worried for no reason
Limit thermals, and to ensure more power available for GPU
That's not really how that works
PL the 12600K(F), lol. Although my 12400 staying completely under 70w for an all-core load is pretty nice. Wattage/thermals are of course largely influenced by load
The thermals will be more than fine with that aio, I doubt it'd go over 70c even multi core
And the 12600kf pulling more won't affect how much power the gpu can pull.
First option https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/TctrpB
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600KF, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (3 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
Bit over budget, gonna do a cheaper one
Second over budget option, for cheaper just switch to 6750Xt/6700xt https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/bqzCCd
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6800, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (3 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
Yeah the 6800/6800 XT is goated with the sauce
Part List - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6750 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (3 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
thanks a lot šš
iāll probably stick with this and downgrade the gpu cause 6800 is prob overkill for 1080p anyway
It's non xt, but understandable
Can anybody help me,my pc doesnāt want to boot
Yesterday it showed no signal to the monitor, now itās not turning on at all
is there any real difference between the 5600 and the 12400f?
Honestly
The 6700XT is already kinda overkill for 1080p IMO
Like the worst experience so far has been CP77 RT for me
probably but the extra vram is always nice for newer games
And by "worst" I mean sub-75FPS 1% lows
RT Ultra with quality FSR has been rock-solid 45 FPS
Sadly my monitor has no VRR and it's got awful motion perf so I can't really get the most of it
But at least the card works great
they are pretty much even when it comes to 1080p, especially if you're using something like a 6750xt...i just gave you an alternative platform, with a slightly better upgrade path and definitely a better mobo.
Question
Why KF CPU
ahh okay š
That 10 bucks for the iGP ain't losing anything (and frankly it can be REALLY useful to have it if things go south),
Like the only real circumstance where I can (kind of) understand the KF is like
Overclocking for records
But the iGP is good for QuickSync and generally useful for troubleshooting
btw why 3200 and not 3600 ram? itās same price no?
what CPU and how are you cooling it
Its a ryzen 5 7600 and its air cooled
because it's not just about frequency you have to pay attention to the timings and latency.... 3200 cl 16 has the same latency as 3600 cl 18
Not very noticeable
Because the k is a lot more, and the igpu is not required for qsv
Yes an igpu can be useful, but not worth $40
Correction 25 gbp
So about $32
12400f at 115 is better value than 5600 at 120
But mobo also costs more and doesn't have wifi
AM5 is programed to run at the highest temperature your cooler can allow. It's made to run at max frequency not minimum temps. Your CPU wants to constantly run at 95C but since you have a non x (it's tdp is lowered compared to an x sku) and dont have enough cooling under load that will probably be normal...especially if you have a single tower cooler.
As long as itās not thermal throttling itāll be fine for gaming.
My 7600X on an id Cooling XT-224 idles at 65 °C
74 under load would be highly unusual for AM5
But completely normal for idle
I love my i5-13600K idling around 35°C.
If you have 80 °C at idle, that's a bit interesting but as long as you get the boost clocks it all works out
Sadly that was out of my price bracket
And I had no idea that I can just get a 12400 and squeeze in a much better monitor
Though at least with AM5 I'm on a socket that SHOULD have a good upgrade path
Oh yeah definitely, that was something I was thinking about when building my rig.
I mean yeah, don't buy a promise and all that
However with an i5-13600K and RX 7800 XT I should be fine at 1440p for a good while.
Iāll be in the Army soon enough so it doesnāt matter how long my rig lasts.
Bruh
Anyway
As I was saying AM5 is a big freaking deal
Besides it doesn't really get that hot in gaming from the PC
It's within acceptable standards
Can anybody help my pc wonāt turn on
Like not powering on at all?
is it ok for only one of the ram sticks to show on the bios or
You'll definitely want to reseat the one that's not showing
Ty
My network adapter doesnāt show up on windows but i connected it
It only gives me the option for ethernet
What mobo/wifi card do you have
Only need wifi card if mobo doesn't have built in wifi
Asus tuf gaming b550 plus wifi ii
Picture of the wifi card on the mobo, if possible?
Where is it supposed to be at
Lil green square prob left bottom side
Or maybe it's covered on that mobo, one sec
Did you connect the antennae it uses?
Yes
Can you send a pic of the whole mobo?
I'm looking online and don't see it, if it is covered there's one of three spots I think it could be
Ye sure
Near usb ports, hook up the antennas, install wifi drivers from mobo support page. Ram should be in 2nd & 4th slot from cpu btw. Also seems some fans are backwards. Goin to xmas dinner soon.
Should I just download them on a usb drive and plug them into my current pc
Yeah
I think you can internet share with your phone via a USB cable to get through windows install?
Sorry the usb would have to be once you're at windows
is this a good upgrade from 2x8gb ram to 2x16 for an astock b365 motherboard and intel i5 9400f?
https://a.co/d/9MXTYzP
wait woops
wrong link
Yeah I Alr got windows
Oh then yeah, just plug the USB in and then open the file
Features: Extreme performance DDR4 memory designed for gaming and PC enthusiasts Optimized compatibility with DDR4-compatible Intel Core platforms Sleek and stylish aluminum heat spreader design Intel XMP 2.0 support Ultra-high capacity 16GB modules Series Ripjaws V, Memory Type DDR4, Capacity 32...
Does b365 support docp?
not sure š
Prolly asus setup
TY
Ah nice
how should I check?
One sec
It doesnt
So a jedec 2933mhz kit would be better, or just the absolute cheapest ddr4 that isn't garbage
What do you use your pc for btw?
There's this, but I dont know how 9400f imc will handle 3200mhz https://pcpartpicker.com/product/wnbCmG/team-elite-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr4-3200-cl22-memory-ted432g3200c22dc01
Imo, id either buy a used kit or just wait till you upgrade cpu/mobo
With a B365 board you are limited to 2666 memory. So you'd have to grab something off this list.
https://pcpartpicker.com/products/memory/#S=2666&Z=32768002&sort=price&ff=ddr4&page=1
Choose Memory
I would stick with a kit of 2666 CL 16 or lower
B365 doesn't support xmp from what I saw, it would have to be a 2666 jedec kit
I'd just get the cheapest 2666 jedec
Just got a new pc, still looking for a new graphics card tho. budget is like $550 ish and theres like 3 cards in the highest part of that budget, im looking at the 3080/ti, 4070 and 7800xt what do i get
i have a 7800x3d with 32 gigs of 6400mhz ram as well
What psu did you get
750w psu, no idea if thats enough for the power hungry ass 3080 ti lol
Can we get a specific model name of it
sure
Some 750w are great
i think its a corsair 750e 80+ gold
Rm750e?
yes
Ok you're sure?
yeah i have it pulled up
Ok good psu
awesome
I could recc anything that fits in that budget tbh
i gotchu
Used 3080 ti, 7800xt, 6800xt, 6900xt (if they're 550 or less)
Used 3080ti you should be able to get for about 450-550
yeah, found some in that range on ebay
because the 3080 ti is stronger than the 4070, im just unsure about if the newer features and upgraded thingies are worth the difference
This would be the best new purchase in your price bracket
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/XPjNnQ/asrock-radeon-rx-6800-xt-16-gb-phantom-gaming-d-oc-video-card-rx6800xt-pgd-16go
i gotcha
I can barely if ever justify a 4070 or really any 40 series card not 4070 ti
Ngl
The small bit bus and underwhelming performance put them at meh value
i gotcha
so 3080ti is just a way stronger card even with the last gen cuda cores, etc
so it being last gen doesnt rlly matter since its just a beefy card?
And especially now with fsr3 going everywhere, 4070 doesn't offer anything but av1, which 7800xt is better with
Definitely
You save a little on power
oh yea is av1 really necessary? i wanna stream
But you lose a lot to perf
Depends
Most platforms don't support it yet? But av1 is good
Av1 however is not worth more than like $20 imo
So you could just use h.265
On a used 3080 ti that would still look decent
gotcha, it can't make THAT much of a difference right like ppl have been streaming on 265 for forever so it cant be that noticable
It is noticeable
oh ok i havent rlly looked into it
But I wouldn't say to an extent worth more than a few $
Like you could really live without
gotcha
Most established people in content creation still use 1080p 60, for example
yeah
If you had to get av1, get a 7800xt
But like
6800xt is virtually the same for nearly 100 less
Without av1
ok makes sense
i had a 7800xt ordered
but
its on backorder and has been for months i just found out
so i dont think im ever getting this card
How much was it?
its very unfortunate because it looks so sick
i got it for $520, it's white and has rgb fans which worked with the aesthetic i wanted
Ah
the asrock steel legend oc
yep
Lol
Where did you order from?
newegg
Link?
yea one sec
They have this
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/nh26Mp/sapphire-pure-radeon-rx-7800-xt-16-gb-video-card-11330-03-20g
Would be objectively the better choice
yeah, that's the one i was considering if i still went 7800xt
yeah I don't play the craziest games atm
gotcha
Try and get like
i use lots of adobe stuff so i mainly needed the beefy processor
Gigabyte vision and then (must) use a support bracket
Adobe likes new amd
Ah vertical is fine
yeah 3080 ti is heavy lol
Gigabyte has an issue with pcb cracking, but vision is cheap for white on the used market
Avoid strix
Expensive for no reason other than strix
Lmao alright
Could also get any old 3080 ti and paint it
yeah

lol
lemme check the ones on ebay rq ill lyk what i find
Try r/hardwareswap
Since you'll be vert mounting you can get a vision card without worrying about the pcb cracking issue
okay
So cheaper side white card
https://www.amazon.com/AOC-27G15-Adaptive-Sync-Adjustable-Zero-Bright-Dot/dp/B0CBLC9XBJ/ref=sr_1_14?crid=M8CGMY5X10JG&keywords=27%2Binch%2Bmonitor%2B144hz%2B1080p&qid=1703548189&sprefix=27%2Binch%2Bmonitor%2B144hz%2B1080p%2Caps%2C103&sr=8-14&th=1
looking for a monitor for my buddy, as he thinks there is a catch to this being 180hz and cheaper than 144hz versions.
I have an AOC monitor and I love em, I have the 24 inch curved that I got for $100 but they are now $200.
The specs he is looking for in a monitor are: no less than 27 inch, IPS, 1080p, no less than 144hz. price of around $150 US$, and Known brands.
forgot the question, does this one look bad?
Unleash your potential and win sweet victories with the AOC 27G15 Gaming Monitor- a sleek battle station with FHD resolution, 180Hz ultra-fast refresh rate and 1ms MPRT rapid response time. Thanks to the 178/178 degrees extra-wide viewing VA panel, you can witness consistent colors on the 27-inch...
actually most are in the $530-$600 range on ebay
hm
lemme look on reddit like u said
best priced one i found
that has buy now option*
Yeah that would need a fix lol
Do not ever buy something without reading its entire description/history
yea ik i just was rlly quickly browsing
27" would be pretty blurry, I'd recommend the gigabyte g24f 2, goated panel
Including WW2 memorabilia
boy did I make that mistake once
ill pass it along, thanks
*Leaks secret documents on ebay listing *
I tried telling him that, but he is coming from a 30 something inch tv and doesnt want anything small. I personally dont go higher than 24 inch
Frick not again
I think there's one then
If he sits a decent way away then it's understandable
@brittle tinsel I think g27f 2 is supposed to be ok?
having trouble finding a good price tbh. i could definitely send out some best offers for the price i want
Lemme double check
but
Yeah @brittle tinsel if he must have 27", g27f 2
Could, although if you're gonna pay 550 for a 3080Ti, a 7800XT is pretty close
Hey i just put in a 10th gen i9 and 850w gold Psu And now this is happening any way i can trouble shoot it and fix before taking it to a tech
3080 12gb would be my next look in
Itās just turning on then off instantly
Detects a short
OCP tripping
How can I fix it?
alright
they're pretty similar in performance correct
Close enough that you'd say within $50
Few other options, depending on price diff from the g24f 2
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/gmytt6/msi-optix-g2412-238-1920-x-1080-170-hz-monitor-g2412

He said we might be pushing him toward 24" ill send these along
yeah i have two 24" 240hz monitors its been great for the 3 years ive had em
both LG
1080p
Ok, serious question: what could I get for $850?
a pony
A pretty solid build, do you need monitor included?
jokes aside, you need to be more specific mate
Nah not really
And are you just gaming, do you care about nvidia over amd, and if you have a monitor what resolution is it
hey, we were having fun š¦
Fun is my worst enemy
that why i love you so much man š
what makes a good ssd
Lemme look up the model of monitor
For gaming, random read performance
Do you need wifi, or are you using ethernet
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Montech X3 Mesh ATX Mid Tower
Should really do 32gb in 2023
crucial t500 says hello
Wifi
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600KF, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (1 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
That would be the golden standard, but over budget
Can easily do cheaper
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600KF, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (1 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
Ok the monitor I got is a Sceptre but I canāt tell you anything about it till I get home
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6800, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (1 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
Iām probably gonna save up for something better that I was recommended
I've mostly seen 1080p165hz from them but that doesn't mean much, ping me or felix when you can check (with Felix's permission)
Could you link it?
Lemme grab the link
Or say what it is
Eyyy I made it work in an sff

@cosmic sparrow
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wYKxTY
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6800, SAMA IM01 MicroATX Mini Tower
That's objectively a better build, but there's a lot I'd change
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Montech AIR 100 ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower
I plan on getting money through deviousness
Black gpu though
Meh
Whatever you think would run better and smoother Iām good with

whats the best ssd out rn
How's this compare to 27qs?

whats the dif between gen 4 and 5
Oh btw that $180 one with the random letters for a name is actuallt better than 27q
Panel is a bit better
It doesnt make a difference if you're gaming
For downloads you'll be internet limiting on a sata ssd
Only time you'll notice it is slightly faster boot times and load times, which past a certain point you won't notice that either (gen 4), and transferring from one ssd to another
so I only need gen 4?
depending on your workload the usefulness of this speed can vary...for gaming it usually doesn't matter yet because PC games aren't coded to take advantage of such speeds yet....but other applications it can and does make a difference in your workload....people tend to say it doesn't matter when they mean it doesn't matter TO THEM....everyone is not the same
Gen 4 isn't needed, but gen 5 is just stupid
Don't touch a gen 5 rn until they fix the heat issues
Gen 5 has basically zero benefit for a gaming build anyway
I specifically specify for gaming.
Let alone even sata to nvme
TIL T500 exists, that was a good suggestion @vivid copper
My fastest rig runs on a sata bx500 and boots in 7 seconds lmao
Windows install matters as much as the drive it's on
You don't really need any gen
Just go with the suggestions for the best value perf at your price point
And for 4tb, not a lot of options
So UD90 is fine
Unless you're spending $2000 on a build, don't spend over $100 on a 2tb ssd
Oh hey thatās me
Even until you're in 4090 territory
Unless you're among the few who benefits from gen 5 speeds or if you need more than 2tb
Adata premium is s tier, among the best gen 4 drives at $100
At that point beyond it the perf is a slippery slope
So this build I got is good as it is for now?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, Montech AIR 100 ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower
I'd at least spend $5 more for the rm750, white cables are very nice with the white build
For monitor one sec
This is a bit better than 27q
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/p8zXsY/acer-nitro-xv1-xv271u-270-2560-x-1440-180-hz-monitor-umhx1aa301
Could also do a white 7900xt for $800
The color doesnāt matter all that much honestly
As long as the case is white I couldnāt care less
Plan on putting a decal on it
Oh then xtx at $960 is great value, but you'd want a 240hz 1440p monitor
Or 7900xt for cheaper than that 4070 ti
The one above would work then?

I swear I made this build ages ago
Ye
Added it
I think it's an old list bacca
I think you did actually
I remember that list
One of you did help with the parts
For monitor I've no clue which of these is better
Lol I thought it was familiar
Xv272u iirc
Ah alr
27qs also good
Would I need pcu extensions with my build or would it come with everything Iād need part-wise?
It would come with everything, just rm750 nicer since white cables
Black cables look off in a fully white build
Black and white build its less weird
Would I need it?
Like asiahorse, ez-diy fab
No
Just for looks tbh
If looks matter, it's a good $20 spent
really need the help if someone could help. wanna build my own PC but donāt know where to start really. I got a budget of $1500-$1700. Mainly play call of duty, rust, DayZ and things like that
Iām gonna talk myself into it Iād need a recommendation since I almost bought the wrong type earlier
Probably one of the more dramatic changes in a pc imo
ezdiy-fab and asiahorse are good choices
Antec
Cablemod (if you want to spend a fortune)
I used to recommend cooler master because it was 16AWG
But I've seen those burn up
So any of those other 4 I said* are decent
Aim for 16awg, but 18awg is fine
Do you need mouse keyboard monitor
Wifi
And just gaming?
no i got a mkb, monitor and everything else as i play on console and mainly gaming and to maybe start streaming in the future
What monitor
First option https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DLGtkJ

Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Montech AIR 100 ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower
Seconded
whatās the difference in the 7900 XT and XTX?
About 16%
About the difference between a 4070 ti and 4080
Thought it was more like 20-25?
Oh huh
They cut a whole die out iirc
just wondering because of the price difference
XTX is a slight cut above that
Straight power 11 is a tier right felix?
Would suggest posting 1440p or 4k to avoid cpu bottlenecks plaguing the tests
ah, my biggest thing has been deciding between amd and intel
Brand doesn't matter, performance does
I think so? Pure power 12m is speculative a
If you want to do like, workstation stuff, intel tends to be a bit better overall
But for your needs amd is good
13600kf and 14700k (and variants) are great value for workstation
In a blind test you basically would have no idea which is which
It's all running the same OS, end of the day
You could do a build with some QOL upgrades with 7900xt https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4VxkqR
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
mainly just gaming and iād like to stream at some point
Better mobo (more m.2s/io mainly), better cooler though it doesn't make a diff on 7800x3d, better psu so more upgradability
Either or is fine, AMD can have a slight edge in video workstartion stuff
But nothing worth 2 cents of thought really
The only GPU that even remotely has a bottleneck at 1080p is the 4090....1440p and 4K show less scaling. HU has a pretty good testing methodology. They always test with the fastest CPU available at the time....and remember this isn't absolute frames it's releative to show scale....me and you can run 50 different test on the same hardware and get different results.
HUH
Can tell you from first hand experience, 4090 and XTX are bottlenecked easily at 1440p
And 4080
So idk who told you that
And 4080 yes
7900XT barely skates by with like a 13900K/7800x3d
Just because it's not a major bottleneck doesn't mean it's not there, and especially when paying attention to 1% lows it's a pretty big factor
your test don't align with others in the industry...so if you have testing or charts back up your claim i'm game...but i'll stick to what i've seen
To purely get an idea of performance between gpus, 4k is much more accurate
not at all as not all GPUs are even powerful enough for 4K
and if someone isn't playing at 4K that bears no weight on their decision
But for 12gb+, 4k is much more accurate
Who the hell is buying a 4090 for 1080p
Time spy tells me enough of a snapshot with a quick google
And for a performance comparison between gpus eliminating as many outside factors, including cpu bottleneck, is the ideal
I have a $5,000 budget, which CyberPowerPC should I get?
Would you order a custom parts list yourself and have someone put it together for you locally?
A car
timespy is synthetic bench and isn't comparative of real world gaming performance....that's why reviewers and everyone does a test suite of games...it varies....
No can do, not responsible enough.
It's pretty close without doing much work
Frankly does track pretty well in the scheme of things
Also it's more consistent than games
totally
Unless the game has a built in benchmark I guess
I'm all for supporting the discussion of a wide gamut of games, but never in my life would I say the 2023 high end isn't bottlenecked at 1080p let alone 1440p
Oh yeah I didnāt tell you.
š
?
||Slovskii||
Lol
2023 high end for 1080p... yeah, thats extreme bottleneck for no reason
Yeah, free Nitro does things to a man.
Dunno, first joke of a brand that came to mind.
Ah

i would ask you to clearly define what a bottleneck is....cause i think you and alot of people like to think relative scaling as a bottleneck. The 4090 is the only card powerful enough at 1080p to cause a high end CPU to literally perform worse because it's too slow to process frames.....
Bottleneck as in the rendering capacity of one or the other device is under the capacity of the rest of the system
To be more specific
if you buy high end for playing at 1080p you either love to waste money or you pair it with a monitor 360hz and up for competitive esports
"cpu limited, or ram limited"
Even a 360hz monitor at 1080p is bottlenecked with the likes of a 3090 in a LOT of situations
take me with you :3
me watching my 4080 get 27 fps at 1440p
Weāre gonna eat Crayons and make friends along the way.
im all up for that mate
Best friends forever

ikr
just upgrade your PSU to a gigabyte p850gm so it can double as a gaming PC and an IED in a pinch

The only truly feared thing in this world.
if that's not value then I don't know what is
Weapon of mass destruction if you ask me.
that psu must be banned on the geneva convention
pull the cpu pin and throw it
No more video games.
give the gift of red and orange RGB this christmas
no the red and orange RGB comes from the explosion
Erm, because your GTX 1080ti is a standard editionā¦. zzzzzzzā¦.
Erm, this is AMDās fault.
Obviously just the pc builders fault, check pleaseš¤
so wouold the TEAMGROUP Elite 32gb ddr4-2666 be a good one from that list?
not entirely sure what jedec is
For sure
thank :3
Np
Hello need some help with a troubleshooting issue I been having
I am using this GPU XFX GTR XXX Radeon RX 580 8 GB Video Card
I have a curved monitor that is 3840x2160
However it's stuck at 1024x768
When I game
If I go higher then at after awhile my screen going black and my PC restart
What could be the cause
If you need to see the entire build I paste it in chat
And thank you in advance
Drivers?
Would it be easier if I post the build in chat
If it's not a textwall
Choose Your Parts
Put here grab the link auto generated on the page and put here
Build pc in there
Make sure you put here though
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7700X, Radeon RX 580, Zalman S2 ATX Mid Tower

Did it not work?
Or is it set to private?
Within a three month time frame
It was a gift for my younger sibling
Did I speed to much on the build?
Like
Immediately
Improvised explosive device (ied) made by the madlads at thermaltake
That psu absolutely needs to go
Saying this so you don't have a house fire
That's how serious I am
Is that the reason why he is having issues while gaming?
I cannot say
For everything else
The rx580 isn't really a 4k card
And you need legacy amd drivers
What games is he playing? Rx 580 is.. outdated
Yeah we can ignore the other parts here
The bomb
Apart from the case and ram, nothing else truly stands out apart from that psu guys
Why
Felix is the sensible one here
That psu is an actual problem
I agree with Felix.
Fps gaming apex and stuff like that
If he's trying to play apex with an rx580 at 4k yes he will have issues
First. Like.. today tomorrow.. right now.. replace the PSU. Stop using the PC.
Fps will be pretty low
The 580 wasn't a 4k capable card when it came out
No that's a 1080p card
If he played 1080p with working legacy amd drivers, he'd be ok
So is that why he is stuck at 1026 then
No
It's probably driver issues
It sounds like he doesn't have the right drivers
When was the pc built?
I could be wrong
Please say 2020
But he should use the card at 1920x1080
@plucky timber
If that is why you want me say then sure
But that is a lie lol
ughhhh
Sorry but you overspent
You could've gotten something a lot better for 1k
Can we focus on the psu pls
Yes
Yeah why is that in there
@mossy lion return or junk that thermaltake white immediately and get this
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/xLtKHx/apevia-prestige-600-w-80-gold-certified-atx-power-supply-atx-rp600w
I wouldn't even risk that on a 750ti
Well I am bad when it comes to picking parts for a build this is my second build and the second time you guys say I over spent on it lol
Ur fine
Larvaye. If the PC is on now.. turn it off and don't turn it back on until you get the PSU just linked above.
^
The problem is the unit itself
And bye bye PC.. and quite literally possibly your house.
tip: 80+ ratings and wattages doesn't mean it's safe
100%
It's up to the individual unit
Can we slow down here a bit please
Sure
First thing change the GPU and to which one should I switch it too
First thing change the psu
Before anything, anything else
That psu is literally dangerous
Ok that I can do
you should not risk a more expensive graphics card (and the rest of the pc) on a literal fire hazard
The main risk is his house and everything he owns.
Thermaltake smart strikes again
With the psu out of the way, we could consider a new graphics card but FIRST
Before the gpu
If you can return the ram and swap it
You'd save almost $100
This is quite literally half the price of what you have there
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/6JLFf7/teamgroup-t-force-vulcan-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr5-5600-cl32-memory-flbd532g5600hc32dc01
Ok done PSU bought
And that will give you more money to swap the gpu with
That motherboard tho...
Is fine
Jesus christ $189 for a B650
True
With the extra from the ram, you could consider a new gpu quite easily
Anything from a 6600 up to 6700xt would be decent for 1080p
If they want to play 4k apex I'd suggest getting them to run it with a 6700xt at 1440p or 1080p
4K low might work
Get a load of these nerds.
6700XT's regularly go for about $300
Buying AMD garbage because they canāt afford quality Nvidia products.
$320-ish typically
