do you mean one dimm of ddr5
and 8gb ddr5 sticks have half the banks higher capacity sticks half
theres probably 1rx8 8gb d5 dimms out there somewhere
Ok
27q is well priced rn
54 Celcius
2x8 sticks suck because of half bank groups, and 1x16 sucks because it’s single channel
Oh god 1x8 kits do exist
It keeps restarting!??!(
@hollow crag yeah, bacca’s suggestionis your best bet.
Found the model: E248W-19203R
24" LED Monitor
1920 x 1080 FHD Resolution
Up to 75Hz Refresh Rate
HDMI, VGA, Ultra Slim profile
Yeah def upgrade, even spending $1000 I'd recc a new monitor
At least to 1080p high refresh
The monitor I got would work (albeit less than a newer model) for the PCs you recommended me, right? I’m not really trying to get a new monitor just yet
Yeah, but there's not really a reason to get that nice of a pc with that monitor
You'll get high fps yeah, but the gpu won't really be made use of in a lot of scenarios
Even if the monitor is included in the 2k after tax, you're not willing to?
In the end it's your choice, but I would upgrade it as soon as you're comfortable doing so
Just looked again at the ones you recommended me
Depends on your states sales tax, but this should be under $2000 after tax https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LYp2Wt
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
I’m 100% for getting a new one once I saw the specs
Np! Feel free to ping me if you've any questions, I'm not accepting dms anymore for help though
That is 100% understandable given how annoying that can be
Otherwise I end up with like 6 people at a time dming me about their separate issues and I'm sorry to those people but i don't really enjoy that
Alr I gotta run, about to be driving. Cya!
Thanks for the help
@cyan ravine hey according to oc discord my ram is dog lol unless I oc it to 6000 and like cl36 or lower
Which kit
The 5600 cl46 kit?
The one in my list
Yeah he's an idiot then
They're hynix underneath
The point of buying them is to OC them to a different xmp now that you've got them
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/WFVmP6/teamgroup-t-force-delta-rgb-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr5-6000-cl30-memory-ff4d532g6000hc30dc01 they said to return them and get these
Never heard of these
Is the ram I got better OC than that ram?
^^
You need to manually put in the other xmp and it will run just as quick
It can easily do 6000c30
So
With some very quick settings
See the xmp on the kit he said to buy frosty?
And with tighter subtimings than an xmp kit
6000c30-36-36-76
6000 CL30-36-36-36-77
Is that white kit
You were closer than me lmao
You were 1 off on the last subtiming lmao
You could easily do better than that too
Felix would 6000c28 take time or if it's M die would that be easily doable
Example of an xmp @low path
The kit he says to buy will be the same, the difference is you make a 20 minute car trip for a 1 minute button click instead of 5 minutes
You just put the same numbers in manually
In this case
6000
Cas latency 30
Trcdrd 36
Trcdwr 36
Oh okay so my ram set is good?
As long as it works amaizng im fine I wanna be able to play cod with 300 fps lol
And it takes 5mins that’s it?
Ez
Right?
It'll behave exactly the same as well
So I can almost guarantee it would work
And if it didn't
Something's faulty
i.e it's basically a guarantee
How do I post a pic? I’m trying to uninstall a gpu but I can’t find the pcie release switch
it's at the right end of the slot
I think it could have broken off? Does that mean I can just pull it out
Does it actually lock it in or is it just seating it
I would send a pic but I can’t for some reason
this is a simple one, you just pull that lock away from the card
there's different kinds
this kind, you press down to release I think
Would anyone be so kind as to give me their feedback on this build I'm working on? https://pcpartpicker.com/user/JoelStransky/saved/PGTbpg
Do you own any of this
no, still pricing it out. Don't really know who's better to go with these days. amd / intel
Do you have a preference for nvidia over amd
Also do you have a monitor yet?
@white crest
Amd for gaming with your budget, but not 5600x
yah have a 4k dell monitor
7600 is $200
Are you gaming?
4k gaming is very gpu heavy, in some titles even the 4090 is struggling at times
yah, this for a kids gaming / streaming / vr rig
doesn't have to be studio quality, just a solid bed to build on.
I'll make two options, one with a new monitor one w/o
And nvidia or amd, or don't care
probably minecraft, roblox, overwatch, valorant etc.
I would go amd personally, 6800xt, 7800xt, 6700xt, and 7900xtx are great value
Here's first option https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TKNcGP
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
Same price, gpu about matches the 3090 ti and cpu matches the 5800x3d
Ah alr
Any specific look you like?
Also model matters a lot more than brand, but all of these models are well specced and reviewed
Ok so I'm going to dm you the second list because the link pcpartpicker is giving it has three letters in a row that will get me muted
heh
This is preferred but close works. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/3nD7YJ/fractal-design-pop-air-atx-mid-tower-case-fd-c-por1a-01
Lol check dms, I chose the same case
Nice, really appreciate that.
So not much diff between nvidia and radeon these days?
Ehh, for vr I'm not certain
But 7000 series improved in VR over 6000 series a lot, I know that much
7900xt isnt?
if its at like 710ish?
That's good value

ty dealmaster
i think thats what im gonna upgrade to next year
if i can find a good deal on an xtx ill go for that though
thanks a ton @mossy venture
msi afterburner?
Yes
is the pcbuilds.com fps calculator accurate?
Unique calculator that will answer any questions about launching video games. It will calculate how much Frames Per Second (FPS) you can expect while playing selected video game. It will tell you can you run specific game and will it be playable.
this
no
huh
it actually is estimating fairly close to what fps i get, at least for farming simulator and hitman 3
wow
im kinda surprised
it was way off on minecraft but java is
garbage
almost said the other word
@mossy venture this is what I've got now. Worth it to try to for Ryzen 7?
Didn't link anything
Looks good, though you don't have to pay for windows
ah, twas my next question
If you've had a windows device in the past, you can just install windows and then sign into that account and it will activate
Just Google windows media creation tool, you do need a computer to install that onto a USB though
That machine is a hand me down
Do you have a Microsoft account on it?
yah I've done that before, just thought I'd need a new serial
yep, M$ is on it and I'm admin
yah np there. removing win11
Also for fans, you could do a 3 pack of thermalright c12c fans for around $14
White+ rgb, and they're really good fans
It isn’t necessary you’d probably drop 2-5 degrees c under full load (if it’s a tower cooler)
They're both made to the same standard, so they will interface with each other
If you have a certain size motherboard that the standoffs aren't installed to fit, you can rearrange them as you need
I think there should be spare standoffs with the case
I have no idea if I built my pc wrong or smth is loose but everytime I try and play like league my pc will have a chance to freeze really bad
@mossy venture Hey Bacca, me again. I was wondering if that pc build you recommended me is viable for using PCVR?
oh yeah 100%
though I would look into 4070 ti vs 7900xtx for VR
the 4070 ti might pull ahead, im not sure
Hmm
Hey I'd snag this if you didn't order the ssd yet https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/samsung-980-pro-pcie-40-nvme-ssd-2tb/apd/ab497318/storage-drives-media
Maximum SpeedGet read speeds up to 7,000 MB/s with 980 PRO and push the limits of what SSDs can do. Powered by a new in-house controller designed to harmonize the flash memory components and the interface for superior speed – with a PCIe 4.0 interface that’s 2x faster than PCIe 3.0 SSDs and 12x faster than Samsung SATA SSDs – every component of ...
$90
Wait nvm oos, sorry
Huh
Also check 13600k vs 7800x3d for VR performance
Not sure if the extra cores are useful for vr or not
Lemme grab the other version brb
This one should work
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
Aio isn't needed, but notte is almost as good as lf2 for almost half the price
And model of gpu for 40 series doesn't matter much
This is also another option, or basically any thermalright aio around $45-80 https://pcpartpicker.com/product/kXwypg/deepcool-ls720-8585-cfm-liquid-cpu-cooler-r-ls720-bkamnt-g-1
Ok last two I'm linking bc feels like I'm spamming
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/ttt9TW/ek-aio-280-d-rgb-116-cfm-liquid-cpu-cooler-ek-aio-280-d-rgb
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/99XV3C/thermalright-frozen-prism-argb-704-cfm-liquid-cpu-cooler-frozen-prism-360-black
smh how dare you spam helping someone
banned
(you can remove link embeds if that makes you feel better but I assure you that you being thorough in helping someone isn't bothering anyone)
It would but at the same time I'm too lazy to do it on mobile for every message so I'm just causing my own problems
smh spammer!
You knocked off around $200 with those changes
I’m am NOT gonna complain about that lol
I lied one other thing, this for psu https://pcpartpicker.com/product/tWMTwP/cooler-master-mwe-gold-850-v2-850-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-mpe-8501-afaag-us
If I could get a finalized parts list I’d be glad and happy and grateful (the website keeps deleting my saved parts lists)
Which aio did you want to go with?
Notte, ls720, ek, or prism
Whatever you think would be the most reliable
First three have rgb, fourth is the cheapest
I'd say prism is the least reliable (doesn't mean it's bad, just other three are built better)
But aside from that, it's your pick between the three. Thermalright has been dominating the cooler space recently, but EK kinda holds the crown overall for aios
Doesn’t the 7600 come with a stock cooler? Or does he really want an AIO?
They want an aio for the aesthetic of it I believe
Ahh
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tgH3gB here, but still aio is up to you
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
Function over form
Oh then you don't need an aio whatsoever
They have shorter life spans than heatsinks
What’s an aio again
And the 7600 is fine with a stock cooler, but you can get a very good dual tower cooler for $40
The liquid coolers
Heatsinks (air coolers) also last a lot longer typically
10+ years as opposed to 3-5
Air coolers last longer but don’t do as great of a job as water coolers right?
The 7800x3d is fine with a $20 air cooler, 7600 doesn't need an aio at all
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/B9Qyt7 that cooler is as good as a 240mm aio
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
I gotta run now, but feel free to ping me again and I'll respond later
Going with that one
depends
the ceiling is higher for liquid coolers
but a liquid cooler isn't inherently better
a 120mm liquid cooler is much worse than a good air cooler
Seems like air cooled is the way to go for longevity and reliablilty
the only thing that makes a liquid cooler have a higher ceiling
is the fact that there's only so much metal you can realistically hang off of your cpu socket
True
the liquid moves the heat to be dissipated over a larger surface area (case mounted radiator)
it's really just the larger surface area
that's the reason that good air coolers compete perfectly fine with 240mm liquid coolers
Ok so air coolers it is then
yeah, aios do tend to have good enough lifespans but on a 7600 it's only worth getting one if you really like how it looks
I’m gonna get one to make sure there’s no possibility of overheating (and aesthetically pleasing too)
there's always possibility of overheating lol
technically air cooler lowers the possibility because you can't have a defective pump
had to fix a friend's PC recently where the aio pump failed and he didn't notice for months
we were hanging out at his place in a group and I just suddenly get on the ground next to his PC and I'm like
those sounds are not right
lmao
turns out his CPU was running at 100C for 6 months straight and he just thought his games were lagging because the PC was getting old or something
swapped it to an air cooler and 100C went down to 38C
Dang
Stick with the stock cooler, it’ll be fine on a 7600
The one that’s built in right?
It comes with the cpu iirc
Actually nah get that cooler that Bacca linked, way better for only $30
Forgot how cheap good air coolers are
This is the current part list I wanna get per everyone’s recommendations
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
Looks perfect
currently running an i5 8600k 1660ti 960 evo is it worth upgrading to this or should just build a new pc?
salvageable parts are a noctua d15 and my case from what I see
this is a really random thing but
I’ve tried to play roblox with my younger sister occasionally on my new PC and wheneve I’m in a game with her it’ll just randomly disconnect me from the game, this has been going on over the course of a few months when I play occasionally with her, and it wasn’t an issue on my old prebuilt which she now uses
might wanna consider the prospect of just selling your current PC as an intact unit
if you'd otherwise only salvage 2 parts
hmmm I was thinking either building a completely new pc or upgrading don't think I'm selling
don't currently have the time to make you a part list but just sharing that idea
or hypothetically if I could get a maxxed out rtx 4090 xps 8960 should I take that over a custom build
Yay
What is your budget for a new build
why would a xps be cheaper than a custom build
Any specific reason for 64Gb of ram?
kinda weird situation but either the one in the screenshot probably with a 4070ti instead of a 4080 or an xps 8960 with a 4090 or 4080
not really yeah probalby should just do 32
Also fine just 2x24 can run a bit faster and have more ram
also would you go with a prebuilt 8960 with better specs or a custom pc? custom might be quieter and ig faster ram
Send your pcpp list?
I'd only go for the dell prebuilt if it was cheaper by an insane amount
Part List - Intel Core i7-6700K, Corsair Obsidian Series 350D Window MicroATX Mid Tower
I think budget would be whatever the pcpartpicker list is here
or an xps
xps is like 4k cad with a 4090
…your budget is $350?
like 3k cd
a 4090 dell prebuilt would have to be at most $2000 USD flat before I'd be interested
Yeah you sent the wrong list
whoops
basically the value of the CPU and GPU alone
And are you just gaming?
it's a private list
Do you need wifi?
yeah
You gaming?
yeah just 1080p 165hz though
Do you do workstation use?
with a dell prebuilt you'll have a throttling cpu, jedec ram with no upgrade options, proprietary mobo, case, psu
might in the future only do some coding rn but it's not too intensive per-se
yeah don't think I'm upgrading
just looking for something that can last ~5 years
as in you wouldn't be able to anything about the ram sucking
or the cpu throttling
unless you just pull the CPU and GPU and do an entirely new build
I already told you what would be the maximum price before I'd think about buying a dell
let's say independent of budget
like if I could get one or the other budget doesn't matter
it's a weird situation kinda
Id do this basically https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/HpQRYN
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4080, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
I mean do you have a specific deal with dell and only dell
ok thanks
or someone is offering you this dell
yeah kinda
but weird situation
basically one or the other
budget doesn't matter
4k cad is 100% not worth it
^
well like more so budget doesn't matter for the xps
and you can get better prebuilts for cheaper
budget matters for the pcpartpicker list
I built my PC for basically 4k cad
which is why I'm asking if you have something specific to dell
13900k, 4090 and custom loop
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
yeah kinda
where you could get that dell for a lot less than 4k
Dell is 💩
let's say the xps does not tank my budget at all
$2800 and new monitor 7800x3d 7900xtx
like let's say I can get the dell for free basically lol
but I have the budget for a custom built if needed
if it's free then take it
I just need something that's solid for 5 years
but it's like one or the other kinda thing
can't do both
He needs cuda I think
no custom build is going to be a better option than a free 4090 system even if it's a dell
lmao
just take it
yeah
And the AMD equivalent just ain’t there yet
alright sounds good lol thanks
lol
Barely because you’re stuck with JEDEC spec
Only thing you can really do is add more ram, just nothing faster
You’re stuck with slow ram that good DDR4 outperforms
ok thanks would you recommend any cooling upgrade?
New case and cpu cooler
ah yikes
Can’t do much about the gpu cooler
capacity might be upgradable but you'll be stuck on extremely slow base spec
so does that spec limit just the max mhz or other specs of the ram kinda
can't even get a new case
it goes to 4800
cause the mobo won't fit in it lol
and might not be able to use a new cooler either
That’s base frequency possible, won’t be able to faster than that
since dell has done some... interesting things with their cooler engineering
load bearing cpu coolers anyone?
I think the dell ram has something bad with latency
could I swap the ram out for equal speed but just better latency?
All of those weird plastic cpu housings traumatized me
unlucky
With Dell you can’t do anything to it without replacing the whole thing basically
alright sorry to keep this dragging but like let's say I could get both for free well more so the budget doesn't matter but is locked on the prebuilt
*pc part picker budget is locked I meant
would you go with a custom or dell
Personally id go custom but free is free so id go dell
ok thanks
Damn 4090s are expensive in CA
heard that some of the dells bolt the CPU cooler directly to the case and it's legit designed to be load bearing
lmao
ok so I more or less can get both for free it's just more so the spec that's capped for each so uh
4070ti custom or 4090 dell
so your parents are buying it
oh
Yep i pulled out like that out of the tech dump
I'd still take dell 4090 over custom 4070ti
More like 4080 custom
but yeah you could probably fit a 4080 if you optimized the budget more
ok thanks
If you went 7600 on the cpu instead of 7800x3d, 4080 is easy
my 13700k 4080 build cost me like 1300 usd
https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/dell/xps-8960 apparently this is something
im going to steal you
lol nice
aren't the intel processors better for work usually
All 💩
ok rich boy nice 13900k 4090 custom loop and spare apartments around the world
depends
if your workload is primarily adobe then yes
Didnt you say youre mostly gaming?
most other things no
more so my work doesn't really require that power so ig gaming but at the same time idk what the future holds
I only play valorant and overwatch rn anyways
so really anything is overkill
if your work is not a factor in your cpu decision then you have no reason to get a 14700k
^
take it from a 13700k and 13900k owner lol
13600k, 7600 or 7800X3d imo
Only reason why i got my 13900k was because I genuinely needed all them cores
Is amd not an option?
he needs cuda apparently
for the gpu definitely not
and i still could use more cores
Ah alr
time to shell out for xeon w rich boy
Do they make dual socket LGA1700 boards?
Then 13600k, 13700k, 14700k, 7600, 7800x3d should be the options considered
2x 14900k for the funny
saw a xeon w5 getting higher memory bandwidth than a 4060ti lmao
yeah I'll just get a dell and hope it holds ig
Possibly 14600k depending on the price gap between it and 13600k
Well also, if you dont like it, just keep the gpu, cpu, and ssd and sell the rest, put the rest in a custom
Gpu will be oem so bad cooling but in a custom it'd be fine
yeah true
Probably reference PCB so just waterblock it heheheh
the dell 4090 is actually pretty good
Is it?
yeah I heard it is
if dell does anything right it's gpu design
Better or worse than ventus 3x on 3090
pretty sure the dell 3090 was better than the ventus 3090 lol
Me blowing on the die is better than the ventus 3x 3090
Ok now that's just insulting
dude I got a ventus 3x 3080 and I was amazed by just how crap it felt
I want a lenovo 6800xt
I had a ventus 1660 in my possession but I never used it
how did MSI manage to make me feel like I was using an entry level product
That thing is sexy
Slovski has it now
...i mean it technically was entry level
it doesn't support more than 3 fan curve nodes lol
I kinda miss my gaming OC 3090
entry level for a 3080 sure, but the 3080 was a premium product
True
the full plastic backplate felt so cheap
they had thermal pads between the pcb and the plastic backplate lol
is that even helping?
No backplate is better than plastic backplate
yeah definitely
Like on that gpu you sent me removing the backplate helped temps a bit
the 2060?
Oh yeah, i fixed it
Forgot to mention that
tell me about it
Complete pain in the ass
did you just have to replace the IC that went boom? or was there more to it
Had to rebuild 2 layers of the PCB 💀
I spent that night cursing away with a bottle of Belvedere working on that GPU
Yep
how many traces did you have to patch?
was there anything further up that you needed to fix? or was that IC the root cause
Only the IC for now, only did like 2 benches with it and packed it back in the box but everything seems fine for now
It was mostly just rebuilding the ends of like 4 traces which wasnt too bad
ahh not bad
I got way too lucky because i found a guy on my campus with the exact same card
I was worried that the IC going boom was a sign of a deeper issue in the power delivery
Got the trace layouts and IC from him
oh it was dead too?
Nah his was fine
Just x-rayed his card for the traces
thought you meant you harvested the IC from that board
And then got the part # from his
oh damn nice
$40 2060 goes hard
you can turn a pretty decent profit if you sell it
Probably will just bench it as much as i can then sell it or use it in a different build or something
glad you got your money's worth
Is this valid
I've a beerus sitting in my pc in the same place
None of my pop figures fit
Too big
Ya I think solgaleo works
It’s battery powered tho
I'm not using it as a sag bracket it's too tall
But it’s turned off
it just looks nice lol
If I got the g360a
I’d put a spike spiegel figure inside my case
I wanted a longer gpu for that exact reason
But hey longer the case the more room he stands in
Though @mossy venture would something like this decrease any performance
nah youre good
whenever i go somewhere and see funkopops now im going to be looking for ones I'd like in my pc lmao
you did this to me
Lol
i just got a dr strange one for my brother for only $5
if you like them, valid
Solgaleo looks so out of place 😭
I don’t like how she’s angled facing forward but like
I don’t wanna open up my case
hey yall i need some help: i have a threadripper 3990x, and im using HWMonitor to see power draw, and even though my cores are only pulling 20ish watts, the package is pulling 80W. Wheres the rest of it going?
new conspiracy theory unlocked
The infinity fabric, which is how the cores communitcate with each other. It's active even when the CPU isn't under load on that generation.
The more cores, the more the infinity fabric has to work. It's exponential even.
try dx11
Yeah dx12 mode kills your fps
for little to no real benefit at that
hmm
It might be a monitor issue tbh
@cyan ravine I'm restarting the game rn but i'll see what's the issue
cause I shake the screen and it blurs out, not stupid and it's not motion blur considering it's off
but when I watched a clip it didn't affect
you'll still get motion blur to some degree in some games even with it off
unless you have a really high fps screen
idk maybe I'm wrong on that one but if you want *to be completely blur free consider something 360hz+
Record you and your screen to clarify your points. Get vidoes organized as mind map, calendar, or any layout. And share it with a link to boost your productivity.
watch that
for an iphone 13 pro the camera really sucks
but the best thing I can explain is - after turning off 12, it reduced the pixel thingy im dealing with
the pickaxe is the best thing I can show considering minor movement blurs my screen
What overdrive mode is your monitor set to in the osd
osd?
The monitor settings you access with the monitor buttons
Oops turned off my monitor
On screen display
That's picture mode
oh found it
Overdrive is called different things on different brands but it's usually called like, normal, fast, faster, fastest
Yep normal overdrive
what should I do?
Normal is the mode that has the highest latency which can make the screen blurry in motion.
You might need to change the picture mode to be able to change overdrive
I recommend whatever level 3 is called, balanced or faster whatever
you can check monitors for the best pixel overshoot mode
I got off normal and extreme.
also turning off free sync is how I can change it
but
using off and extreme didn't fix that little blur
I mean the DL 11 fixed it significantly
The highest mode is just so they can put "1ms response" on the box but it often undershoots badly
sooo I go for extreme then?
but ya the only chance you get those "1ms reponses" are OLED
if im correct
Nah, if that didn't help then it's not the program
Legally speaking they can put 1ms on the box if at least one specific transition, often light gray to slightly different light gray, has 1.5ms or lower response
The average is always much higher
Just leave it on freesync
I would recc freesync as much as possible when available
alright
You mean you don't like your screen tearing?
hmm
It might be with my sharpness
cause I turned off super sharp w my monitor, slightly shook my mouse and all but my character got blurry.
some games have their ui baked into the game instead of acting as like an overlay?
maybe, anyways that's my graphics setting rn. stats in the corner :)
sorry I had to walk off I wasn't finished
So things like anistropy or antialiasing, TAA etc
can have an impact
also upscalers
like FSR can cause some inconsistencies especially in ui
turn off radeon boost and radeon image sharpening
should I keep sharpening on then?
Don't you mean... Detechtive
get a load of this wegg
lmfao
im getting a 27" 2k monitor
is MAG 275CQRF-QD better than G274qpf-QD?
visitor saw all of it
hey is this good for 650$
51RISC Gaming PC Desktop Intel Core i5 11400H 2.7 GHz CPU, RX5600XT, 1TB NVME SSD, 16GB DDR4 RAM 3200MHz, 500W PSU, Windows 11 64-bit Gaming Desktop
No
I give that one $400-450 being generous and assuming it's not all the cheapest parts
what would be good for that price
Oh wait 11400H? Not F?
ya
That's a laptop CPU lol
If you can build it yourself
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qJZzh3
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6700, Cougar MX330-X ATX Mid Tower
Also yeah, I tend to not trust companies that use laptop cpus in pre builts, it functions but it's a bit... shoddy?
alr
Can do cheaper too
And diff case if you want a different look
Cheaper mobo if you plan to use ethernet, as well as can go to 6650xt/6600xt/6600
alr thanks. how many frames do you think it could run on average
That depends on a ton of things
The game, resolution, settings, what specific scenario in the game, it varies a ton
oh ok
Whatever games you play, search on YouTube "5600+6700 (game name)"
ok
Also one more thing, this is a bit nicer of a build if you'd spend more, 32gb ram since $20 more than 16gb, and 16gb can be limting at times now
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6700, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (3 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
Better psu so more upgradability, and better case
@potent portal @cyan ravine no clue if you'd be able to answer but is direct 11 or performance better?
Ah one min
Would you be willing to go used for gpu?
If not, I would do this https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/77JmmD
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5500, Radeon RX 6600, BitFenix NOVA MESH SE TG ATX Mid Tower
If you're fine with used, first I'd say gpu look for anything 6000 series, 20 series, or 30 series, 6600xt+ 2070 super+ 3060 12gb+
Could do cpu+ mobo depending on pricing, 3600, 3600x, 3600xt, 3700x, 3800x, 5600, 5500, 3300x, 10400, 9700, 8700, and anything else that's similar
Also the mobo in that list doesn't come with wifi, you'd either need a different motherboard or a separate adapter
yes
direct 11
I see, ya I was playing with settings around and performance looks like better temps/less util and etc, but more frames, less ping and rip resolution.
I dont like how it keeps saying 100% util
but that's a good thing
or 260w or 62 C
but hey
if it works
100% GPU usage is a good thing, yes
62c alone is nothin. If you care about 100% util, lower a gfx setting or 2.
62c is like idle
yikes
Performance mode goes bre
Brrr
I need help I’m selling my pc for $400 this are the specs
INTEL I7 10700f
80+ gold 600ps
16GB ram ddr4
Mother board is gigabyte ga- b460m DS3H
1TB STORAGE and a black abs case with 4pre installed fans
Without a gpu
Is it a good price to seek?
Sell?*
Got a photo?
You can DM me it and I can post it for you if you want
Having a reference of condition and cable management is nice
Well that's about the max I'd try to get. Perhaps drop $20-25 after a week or 2 if not sold.
someone on facebook has an ibuypower prebuilt, this is the specs i offered 500 a while ago and they said no, now theyre back in my dms saying "i can go lower than 600" what do i offer
like 400? or
dual channel ram
its not one of the prebuilts with the single, naked stick of ram
update: offered 400, hes thinking abt it
500 still a good price for that
Gpu is $250 minimum used
But if you could get it for $400 that'd be a steal
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 7900X, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
can somebody let me know if these parts will work well together before i buy them?
They'll work, but why the 7900X? Unless it's for work that's usually a bad option.
The 7800X3D is the best gaming CPU and is cheaper than that one
I've heard that it goes well with the gpu, my goal is to have no bottlenecking but if you have another cpu that might go better with the 4070 ti then I wouldn't mind looking at that.
The 7800X3D usually matches or beats Intel's best, the much more expensive 14900k. The 7900X is about 15% behind that.
so you're saying the r7 7800x3d would be a better fit for the 4070 ti? no bottlenecking and such?
mainly for 1080p and 1440p gaming
Yes. Not just for this GPU but in general, even a 4090.
Can’t you run 4k on a 4070ti
maybe, but i prioritize performance mostly with so i'd meet in the middle with 1440p
i ended up securing it for 500 with a deathadder lmfaoo
That ain't bad at all
i might use it, idk
Technically could get cheaper, but still
i could always resell
Giga Pc - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
how does that look?
Expensive for no benefit
Lemme take a crack at this
2500 budget?
I'm pretty sure I could fit a much better gpu in this list
would be about 1800 usd or 2.5k CAD
Need wifi?
7900xtx + 7800x3d if I can math
Roughly yes
not necessarily, i wouldn't be opposed to switching out the motherboard for a cheaper option
Ok I'll do no wifi

yo guys need help for a friend, budget 1K us he wants a 13th gen and an nvidia card, can help me with some lists?
cpu/mobo/ram/gpu/psu and drive
case and monitor he will get on his own
For 1K he won't really get anything good
Probably 3070 which is meh at best
If he can accept amd I can fit something in 1K that would blow an nvidia list out of the water
hard to convince an old timer
LMAO
he dont want amd cpu nor gpu
he wanted a 14th gen but somehow i convinced him of 13th gen
None of his preferences make sense for his budget
Part List - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 3070 LHR, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower

This is the best he can do

Part List - Intel Core i5-12600KF, Radeon RX 6800 XT, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
20% to 30% better

3080 12gb
@empty pollen really the best I can manage
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9p6KKX
Part List - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
3080 used
Also uhhh
13th gen
Normally when people are like this they're all "I'll only have the latest parts! I won't do used! I won't go last gen!"
Drives me nuts
thats his case

thats why he wanted 14th gen and i was like... wut?
Well 13th gen isn't in his budget, let alone 14th gen
Unless he wants to throw money at his cpu which will give him no benefit
yeah im talking with him about your list
And it's not just the cpu
It's the cooler
The motherboard
As well
So it compounds
Forget a $500 gpu he'd manage I think at best a $300 one and it wouldn't be good at all
Like, 14600K, 3060
Have another 30% performance cut
On top of the 20-30 turning away from a 6800xt
@empty pollen I earnestly think with his mindset, a laptop would prove better value
under 1k, like which one? to see if i can change his mind
haha told him about the mobile options, and he didnt like it... seems like will find anotheroptions elsewhere
well, not my problem anymore, i wasnt that enthusiastic to help under those restrctions 😦
Well that's reality
feel kinda bad to suggest a new 30 series instead of used
Yeah it's already uncomfortable
If he doesn't like what represents a good sale then he will live and learn
Lmao
indeed
Could someone please help me choose a laptop. I want to buy a laptop for school and I’d like to try and learn coding. I don’t really know anything about laptops or computers but does anyone know what I can get for around $200, absolute max $400
Yes that is indeed the most laptop
if you don't mind refurbished, this is a pretty good buy for $400
https://www.ebay.com/itm/234734635263?mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&campid=5338437681&customid=&toolid=10050
This is also refurbished; significantly cheaper (select black color for $233) while still having a somewhat modern processor and 16gb ram +512gb SSD
not sure how reliable Gateway is
Looks like ryzen 7520/7530U models can be had for $300 but know that those are actually worse performance than the 5625U (Thanks, AMD, great naming)
Here's a very interesting chromebook
https://www.ebay.com/itm/266068225631?mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5338849293&customid=ALTECH50&toolid=10001&mkevt=1
with 4 cores
1440p 120hz display, decent cpu as well. Then again its a chromebook
slightly above 1440p actually, not 16:9
bro I got this laptop for $250 used
install windows and you've got a very decent laptop
onyl issue is 8gb can be a little rough on windows depending what you're using it for
Yeah true that
very good price
Problem was they dropped it on the corner and wifi wasn't working, but I fixed the wifi and the corner drop is unnoticeable
so honestly very good price
especially considering I got it almost a year ago now
Yeh ive been using a 5825U (similar to 5625 iirc but 8 core) laptop for over a year and it's been great. Fairly low power consumption if I need to preserve it, but can also do photo editing, Solidworks, and some light gaming
Thank you I appreciate it. I’ll take a look at them
Anyone know if is should go with the ASUS ROG Strix NVIDIA GeForce RTX™ 4070 Ti over the GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4070 Ti WINDFORCE OC 12G? Or does it really matter
It doesn't matter either way
chromebook dawg?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6700 XT, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
ASUS ROG Strix has alway been good, but if they are both 4070 Ti then i see no difference, choose whichever one has better reviews, and which ever one is better overall
Sweet thank you!
np good luck on the build g
Whichever is cheaper
"Choose the one that's better"
Sage advice
Wish I could give out that kind of advice
Okay I’m having a weird problem. So I have an M.2 I put windows 10 on it and I was using it at the boot drive. However for some reason it worked fine but now suddenly has stopped recognizing it as a boot drive. It recognizes it in the pc but not as a boot drive. Any ideas? I didn’t mess with the bios at all.
So it's not booting into Windows when you try to boot? Have you tried messing with boot priority settings?
The problem is in the boot priorities it doesn’t even show it now
Like it shows that it recognizes it as being in the PC but it’s not showing as a bootable device for some reason
So it's not an option if you try to boot override?
It’s not
You can try using a USB stick with Windows installation media and try to repair your installation
I’ll try that
Now it’s not detecting anything for some reason. It does in bios but not with my flash drive for downloading windows
I wish I could send a picture to explain it. It says abnormal status reported by rapid storage technology uefi driver when I boot into the bios
@dusty coyote what m.2 is this
can someone send me a good pc around $1000-$1100 that’s best for that price range for my friend
Sounds like a 7800xt build
This isn't the first time nor will it be the last that the Intel RST driver has caused issues.
Try clearing your CMOS first, and if that doesn't work you can disable RST in bios, which will probably force windows into recovery mode and you'll need to either repair or reinstall.

@spring hedge

Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6800 XT, Phanteks Eclipse P200A DRGB Mini ITX Tower
Best possible
It's an itx build too
Which is hilarious that this sits at the cheapest end
can you send a prebuilt one he doesn’t know how to build one
I don't have a prebuilt recommendation
Prebuilts haven't been worth it for a long time
To give some perspective, the equivalent for the price would probably be like
5700X, 6650XT
For 1100
Which is way worse
You're better off paying someone else to build it, or buying a laptop (unironically this is in fact better value)
how much is it to pay someone to build it
Ahah, I don't have the answer to that one my friend
not me i haven’t been here in a while
There’s only one Felix I’m pretty sure
can someone send me the best pre built pc for $1000-$1100?
You ever heard of the company yeyian? https://www.newegg.com/yeyian-katana-x21/p/N82E16883630009?item=9SIAZRBH1M1340
@cyan ravine
Specs ain’t terrible for 1.1k
Literally pulling up an $800 laptop that almost beats that
As I said, prebuilt prices are just that bad that laptops are unironically better value
I realised this link yesterday
Actually, I think that laptop matches it
It comes with ddr5
Be a case of just seeing the tdp of the 4060 to be sure
But that's a pretty efficient card in it's desktop form
75W
It would get very close
aren’t laptop parts worse then desktop parts
Not when it's just way cheaper overall
You get a slightly slower machine, for much less, and it's portable, with a screen and keyboard
The list I sent you earlier would take both the laptop and the prebuilt to the cleaners
with a screen
yeah imo you really gotta factor this in unless you already have a 120hz+ monitor
my laptop came with a 300hz display
for some reason
outperformed my old desktop with a Ryzen 5 3600 and a 5700XT
okay so problem ordering my oder
Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower Case this isnt in stock
theres this one?
is this teh same or
it's the same

How much would a used 6650xt MSI mech oc be? I’m trying to get 180-200 but idk if prices like 150 would even be worth
well their prices have risen a little
cheapest (new) is 250 usd rn
looks like they're going for around 200 on ebay
some for 180
if you do ebay you also pay some fees
but in person transaction can avoid those
180 is easy
It’s a Samsung 970 I believe, I’ll have to check when I get back later
Thank you!! I will try it out when I get back later!

Cpu cooler is dummy overpriced you can get an equivalent for like 25$ but yeah apart from that regular white tax pricing
I have a pc build that I’d like to run through you guys before I do anything else. Lemme know if there’s anything that I could change or get different. I really just want the pc to be able to run the new games coming out and some of the more recently dropped ones (Cyberpunk, Darktide, etc) and have VR capabilities.

Do you care about ray tracing much?
Never really got into it that much but I’d like to try modding Minecraft for it
Do you think you'll want to outside of Minecraft? If not an amd gpu would offer better value and regular performance outside of ray tracing, also do you want it to have wifi/Bluetooth?
Honestly I’d try it
Would that mean I’d be good with the one that I have?
Wifi would be nice to have
I'm still making some changes gimme a min
Aight
